Bloom's relatives

    King Oritel and Queen Marion
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oritel_y_marion.png
King Oritel is voiced by: Luca Graziani (Italian; TV Series), Josh Keaton (Atlas Oceanic), Francesco Prando (Italian; both films), Ethan Murray (both films) (Dubbing Brothers), Eduardo del Hoyo (Spanish, first movie) Juan Carlos Gustems (Spanish, second movie)
Queen Marion is voiced by: Rachele Paolelli (Italian; TV Series), Claudia Razzi (Italian; Both films), Larisa Oleynik (Atlas Oceanic), MarĂa del Mar Jorcano (Spanish, first movie)

King and Queen of Domino, and Bloom's biological parents. Also the founders of the Company of the Light.

  • Aerith and Bob: While the name "Marion" is a common-sounding name (a French form of the name "Marie"), the name "Oritel" is unique and unusual-sounding.
  • Arranged Marriage: Played with. By tradition the heir to the throne of Domino marries a person chosen by the king, but it's implied that they fell in love and proposed first and their marriage was arranged by the previous king to keep up the appearance.
  • Badass Normal:
    • Oritel seems to have no powers, but there is a good reason if the Three Ancestral Witches fear him in melee distance more than the full number of the Winx Club.
    • In the second movie Darcy and Stormy attacked him with lethal force, and they were barely a match for him in spite of their advantage in mobility and striking distance and his sword having lost the enchantment. Note that Darcy and Stormy proceeded to kick the ass of the Specialists and the depowered Winx as soon as he left to chase Icy, and bow to his awesomeness.
  • Battle Couple: They killed the Ancestral Witches. It wasn't enough to fully get rid of them, but given that when they had bodies they were tougher than Darkar...
  • Bumbling Dad: Please, Oritel, listen to your wife and stop trying to help Bloom...
  • Fiery Redhead: Averted with Marion who is calm and gentle, especially compared to her husband.
  • The High Queen: Marion.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Oritel in the second movie when he banishes Sky from Domino for supposedly "toying with Bloom's feelings" and wouldn't give him the chance to speak in his defense. This angers Bloom and she leaves Domino in retaliation to stay with her Earth parents as she can't stand being with Oritel at the moment. When Marion got Oritel to read Erendor's noted confession, which Sky tried to show him earlier but refused to look at, Oritel realized he screwed up BIG TIME. Now he fears his daughter now hates him for what he did to Sky.
  • Only Sane Woman: Marion in the second movie: she is the only one in Domino's Royal Family to stop and think for a good part of the movie, and was the first that Sky had to explain himself. Thankfully Oritel started listening to her advice after reading Erendor's confession...
  • Poor Communication Kills: If Oritel had let Sky explain himself or tried to talk Bloom without invoking the fact they were royalty, half of the plot of the second movie would have been much easier. At least when he arrived on Earth to talk with Bloom he managed to stop himself before he finished to say "I'd wish to talk with my daughter" to her Earth parents (even if it's not clear if Marion elbowed him before he finished the phrase or he did it on his own)...
  • Sword and Sorcerer: Implied during their days as members of the Company of Light, but Marion doesn't use any magic in the present.
  • Sword Beam: Oritel's sword shoots these.
  • Taken for Granite: Oritel was turned into stone while he was in the Obsidian Circle.

    Daphne
Voiced by: Raffaella Castelli (Original/Italian), Erica Schroeder (4Kids), Elizabeth Gillies (Atlas Oceanic), Yolanda Gil (Spanish)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daphne10.jpg
Click here to see her her true form note

Bloom's deceased older sister. She died while trying to protect her from the Ancestral Witches.

  • Back from the Dead: At the end of Season 5 Bloom had used her Sirenix wish to have Daphne fully restored to her physical body.
  • Big "NEVER!": Even though she's being viciously tortured, Daphne shouts "NEVER!" to the Tritannus and Trix after they demand to know the secret of Dark Sirenix.
  • Big Sister Instinct: She willingly sacrificed herself for her younger sister.
  • Cool Big Sis: To Bloom.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: After returning to corporeal form Daphne walks into walls and has trouble walking on her own two feet.
  • Damsel in Distress: In season 5, when Tritannus and the Trix capture and torment her for information on Sirenix.
  • Death by Origin Story: Courtesy of the Ancestral Witches, though she lives on as a spirit. Subverted. At the end of Season 5, Bloom uses her Sirenix wish to lift the Sirenix Curse, reviving her.
  • Demoted to Extra: Key character in season 1, barely appeared afterwards except for the movies.
    • She gets a bigger role in season 5.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She is revealed to be blonde after she gets revived at the end of Season 5.
  • Happily Married: To Sky's cousin, Thoren.
  • Nice Girl: She is a kind and loving woman and a devoted sister to Bloom.
  • Odd Name Out: The only relative of Bloom's family with a generic name.
  • Older Than They Look: Chronologically, she could not be younger than 30 and could possibly be close to 40, yet she looks younger than Bloom of season one!
  • Playing with Fire: As a native of Domino, Daphne's magic is shown to be fire-based like her younger sister. Her signature moves include throwing powerful blasts of heat energy, generating fireballs and fire-based force fields, the melting of solid objects, and the summoning of dragons and explosions of varying intensities.
    • In a slight subversion, as a nymph, she actually controls all four elements.
  • Posthumous Character: Her body has long been lost by the series' start. Until she's revived in Season 5.
  • Retcon: Initially, she was simply the spirit of Bloom's dead older sister. In season 5, it's discovered that it was the Sirenix power that turned her into an ethereal being after her death.
  • Spirit Advisor: Her primary role for Bloom is to mentor her on her past and Domino. She acts as a guardian spirit of sorts, guiding her through her troubles with both her magic and adventures, telepathically communicating with Bloom if she has any trouble.
  • Vague Age: Was seen as both a child and an adult when Bloom was a baby on Domino. Doubly so after being revived. Presumably, she didn't age during her time as a ghost.
  • You Don't Look Like You: Her SDCC exclusive doll has some interesting design choices. The prototype is much more show accurate.
  • Younger than She Looks: Her exact age is...complicated...since she probably stopped aging after her death, but after being revived, she seems much younger than she appeared when she was a ghost. Notably, her long dress made her look taller than she really was.

    King Radius
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/956b0358a79230044a558bcede76d021.jpg

Stella's mother and Radius' ex-wife.
  • Amicable Exes: Luna wants to be this with Radius, but he snubs her at every turn.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: We only saw Queen Luna in a dream of Stella's way back in season 1, then she finally makes an appearance in season 5.
  • Light 'em Up: Prominently displays her magic in Season 5 and control light and luminosity.
    • Lunacy: Fairly obvious based on her appearance.
  • Male Sun, Female Moon: The Moon to Radius' Sun.
  • Women Are Wiser: During her time with Radius as advisor to Stella in "Queen for a Day," it quickly become apparent that Luna is far more rational than her ex-husband.

Musa's relatives

    Ho-Boe
Voiced by: Fabrizio Temperini (Italian), Jim Ward (Atlas Oceanic)
Musa's Father, who was a musician. He fell in love with and married Matlin after hearing her sing. Became a bitter widower after his wife's death.

  • Jerkass Realization: Ho-Boe tried to pressure Musa to drop music, her passion and power, completely. He soon realizes that he had been selfishly trying to force Musa to do so in order to spare himself the pain of sad memories of his deceased wife while Musa was keeping the memories of her dead mother alive through her music.
  • Took a Level in Cynic: Ho-Boe was once passionate about music, but after Matlin's death, he couldn't bear to be near anything that had to do with music.

    Matlin
Voiced by: Anik Matern (Cinélume), Lisa Ortiz (4Kids), Laura Bailey (Atlas Oceanic)
Musa's Mother, who was a talented singer. She married Ho-Boe and gave birth to Musa. Matlin fell ill and died when Musa was a child.

Aisha's relatives

    King Teredor and Queen Niobe
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/niobe_and_teredor.png
Teredor is voiced by: Tedd Dillon and Fabrizio Temperini (Italian), Obba Babatunde (Atlas Oceanic)
Niobe is voiced by: Ludovica Marineo and Daniela Abruzzese (Italian), Soraya Butler (4Kids), Grey DeLisle and Kimberly Brooks (Atlas Oceanic)

King and Queen of Andros, and Aisha's parents.

  • All There in the Manual: Their names were first revealed on the official Winx Club website, but hadn't been brought up in the show until the episode preview for S5 E15 mentions Teredor by name. Niobe is mentioned by name for the first time in the season 5 finale.

    Nereus
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nereus___episode_519.jpg
Voiced by: Marco Vivio (Italian), Will Friedle (Atlas Oceanic)

One of Aisha's cousins, and twin brother of Tritannus.

    Tressa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tressa___episode_501.jpg
Voiced by: Alberta Viti - Season 3 and Eleonora Reti - Season 5 (Italian), Kether Donohue (4Kids), Laura Bailey (Atlas Oceanic)

One of Aisha's cousins, and the sister of Tritannus and Nereus.

  • Ascended Extra: She and her mother only appeared in two episodes of Season 3, with the latter just being a cameo, but are given bigger roles in Season 5.
  • Cowardly Lion: At first, Tressa was shown to be rather fearful and she herself admitted it. But she is just as brave and determined when the people she cares for are in danger.
  • Our Mermaids Are Different
  • Took a Level in Badass: In Season 5, it seems that her bravery has improved and she is willing to defend her kingdom.

Flora's relatives

    Miele
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/miele.png
Voiced by: Benedetta Gravina and Gaia Bolognesi (Italian), Kerry Williams (4Kids), Jessica DiCicco (Atlas Oceanic), Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld (DuArt), Laurie Hymes (3Beep)

Flora's little sister, who idolizes her.

  • Adaptation Name Change: In the 4Kids dub, her name is Rose.
  • Aerith and Bob: The name "Miele" sounds rather unusual for a name. The 4Kids dub changes her name to "Rose", which can be a common girl's name.
  • Affectionate Nickname: She is called a variety of endearing nicknames by her big sister. A few are "sweetie", "sweetie pie", and "little blossom".
  • Ascended Extra: Seasons 6, 7, and 8 give her a more prominent role after she was absent from the rest of season 3 beyond her one episode.
  • Big Damn Heroes: In season 7, she follows the Winx secretly when Flora told her to stay behind as it was too dangerous. She managed to free the girls when they all get trapped in a poisoned forest.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Inverted. Miele is the younger sister, but protects Flora from getting hit from one of the Trix's attacks. She also follows the group, despite being told to stay behind, because she feared for their safety, and her instinct was proven right.
  • Big Sister Worship: Looks up to Flora.
  • Cheerful Child: She's excited to go on an adventure with the Winx.
  • Dub Name Change: Her name changes to Rose in the 4kids dub.
  • Easily Forgiven: Well, she does the forgiving. After Flora's brash comment about why she can't tag along, Miele immediately puts her hurt feelings aside to worry for the Winx's safety. Later, her concerns are proven valid and she saves the group's lives (not an exaggeration; they really would've died if she hadn't shown up), only to still get a scolding from Flora (for things she didn't really do) and a half-hearted apology for not being trusted. At this point, if not earlier, Miele would definitely be justified in being upset with Flora, yet she doesn't show the slightest hint of anger (at best, she feigns annoyance). Even taking Big Sister Worship into account, Miele's instant forgiveness says a lot about her character.
  • I Got Bigger: Her first appearance has her be almost toddler sized. When she makes a reappearance in season 6, she's nearly Flora's height. Flora even lampshades her little sister's growth. Just look.
  • Little Miss Badass: She actually protects Flora from one of the Trix's attacks and likely would've earned Enchantix, had she been older. Although no longer a "Little Miss", the aforementioned Big Damn Heroes moment.
  • Meaningful Name: "Miele" means "honey" in Italian. The 4kids dub changed her name, but stayed true to this trope, as they renamed her "Rose".
  • Nice Girl: Miele is friendly and caring.
  • Not Allowed to Grow Up: Played straight in the comics and subverted in the cartoon, where she is a teenager in seasons 6 and 7, but a child again in season 8 (and it's not simply the Art Shift; she is half Flora's height again).
  • Older Than They Look: When she reappeared in season six, she was sixteen, meaning she would've been thirteen when she first appeared in season three, despite being half Flora's height.
  • Shipper on Deck: As seen in this comic panel, Miele is a very proud shipper for Flora and Helia.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Her first appearance has her continually being rescued by either Flora or her sisters' friends. By season 7, she is now an effective fairy who can now rescue them.

Sky's relatives

    King Erendor and Queen Samara
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/samara_with_erendor.png
King Erendor Voiced by: Paolo Marchese (Italian), Peter "Stoney" Emshwiller (Atlas Oceanic)
Queen Samara Voiced by: Ludovica Marineo (Italian), Candi Milo (Atlas Oceanic)

The King and Queen of Eraklyon, and Sky's parents.

  • My God, What Have I Done?: In the second movie it's revealed that King Erendor betrayed Oritel for the sake of saving his own world. He regretted this decision his whole life.
  • Parental Marriage Veto: Neither of them were too fond of Bloom to begin with, but they accepted her after the Patchamen incident. In the second movie, Erendor forbids Sky from marrying her due to finding out she's the Princess of Domino and because he betrayed Oritel to the Ancestral Witches, he felt that he doesn't deserve to have his family joined.

    Thoren
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/thoren_s7.png
Voiced by: Alessio De Filippis (Italian), Charlie Schlatter (Atlas Oceanic)

Sky's cousin.

  • Happily Married: With Daphne.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Although he holds a grudge against Sky, he is gentle, helpful and friendly, shown when Daphne was trying to find the Treants' weakness and he assures her that she will be able to find it and even found a book for her to take a look at.

Icy's relatives

    Sapphire
Voiced by: Tiziana Martello (Italian), Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld (English)

Icy's biological sister. She was transformed into a fox cub by a shaman witch who took over Dyamond.

  • Animorphism: The shaman witch transforms Sapphire into a fox cub.
  • Eyes Never Lie: Her eyes, which she shares with Icy, are the only thing not changed in her fox cub form, which is how Icy is able to recognize her.
  • Forced Transformation: Was turned into a white fox cub by the Shamen Witch when taking over Dyamond.
  • Morality Pet: Figuratively and literally, to Icy.
  • Remember the New Guy?: She's introduced in Season 8 as Icy's sole biological sister, which creates a massive Continuity Snarl that contradicts the entire series up till that point.
  • The Speechless: When in fox cub form, she can't speak.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: She looks very much like Icy does now, though with a different ponytail.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's retconned that she's the only real sister of Icy; Darcy and Stormy are not.
