Elves

Residents of the Great Elfen Forest near the Danakil Plains. They are a long-lived race with high affinity for mana. Elves live in harmony with the Great Elfen Forest and are currently hostile towards most humans due to a purposeful breakdown of their relations.

    General

General

  • Defector from Decadence: Three years prior to the start of the story, after Blue Dragon Artalis came and made her nest in the Lake of Life, the strongest of the High Elves—the ones who possess the titles of "Moon"—took all but one of the Seal Boxes hidden within the Twelve Towers in the Great Elfen Forest to start their own kingdoms. They defected from Broken Moon Silvestia, the Queen of the Great Elfen Forest due to her being sick, her being unable to stop Crimson Moon Masha and Black Moon Ramiel from declaring war on the humans of the Danakil Plains, and her being unable to completely stop Blue Dragon Artalis.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: High Elves have cross-shaped pupils. However, the pattern depends on the actions of the High Elf; High Elves with the <Pupil of the Cross> have powerful connections to the Tree of Life and can borrow vast sums of power from him while High Elves with the <Pupil of Destruction> have committed sins and were forcefully cut off from their connection with the Tree of Life.
  • Fountain of Youth: The water of the Lake of Life became the foundation of the elves' long lives and prosperity as well as what fuels the Tree of Life, the being that gives the High Elves their power. However, after Blue Dragon Artalis came and made her nest in the Lake of Life, the water became toxic and spread the poison throughout the Great Elfen Forest and the Danakil Plains, devastating much of the lands. The only reason why humans and elves don't experience instant death from the poison is due to the Water of Life's healing properties, but if left untreated, the victim experiences immense agony before eventually dying anyways.
  • Healing Herb: One of the branches of the Tree of Life was used during the Blue Dragon Raid to create a safe zone where the poison mist cannot enter. In addition, Kiara also used said branch to help power Zephyr up right before the Blue Dragon Raid began.
  • Inhumanly Beautiful Race: The elves are quite beautiful. They are so beautiful that bards sing songs of their beauty, beautifying them even further.
  • In Harmony with Nature: The elves can restructure the plants of the Great Elfen Forest to make a comfortable nest as well as to make an impenetrable fortress.
  • Long-Lived: Elves have lifespans several times longer than those of humans with normal elves having an average lifespan of 300 years while High Elves have an average lifespan of 500 years.
  • MacGuffin: The Seal Boxes hidden within the Twelve Towers in the Great Elfen Forest. Just one allows an elf to start their own kingdom. This is because hidden within each Seal Box is a seed that allows another Tree of Life to be born.
  • Malicious Slander: The elves of the Great Elfen Forest are victims of this. After Blue Dragon Artalis devastated the Danakil Plains, a rumor spread that the elves poisoned the farmland as an act of revenge for losing the war.
  • Matter Replicator: The elves originally made Magic Flora Plants to create food and water for convenience. However, after being infected with the poison brought by Blue Dragon Artalis, they instead started generating hostile monsters and after absorbing raging waves of poisonous water, they started creating strong enemies that were the equivalent of Dungeon Bosses.
  • Mind Control: The current King or Queen of Elves has the power to rule over their subjects' minds and can force them into being loyal.
  • Pointy Ears: One of the elves' most distinguishing features.
  • Power Glows: The "Moon" in the nicknames of the strongest High Elves comes from the light that erupts from their backs as they surpass their limits and use their ultimate skills.
  • Telepathy: Elves seem to be able to mentally communicate with any other elf, even over long distances.
  • Uncertain Doom: Despite it being years since the strongest of the High Elves had defected, Philip Pilgrim never heard of any new Elf Kingdoms despite him and his son Edwin Pilgrim traveling the world as merchants.
  • Undying Loyalty: After Zephyr, Altair, and their respective parties saved the Great Elfen Forest, Queen Silvestia swore eternal loyalty to the Danakil territory and Altair. Judging by their enthusiastic cheers, none of the elves had any objections to that whatsoever.
  • War for Fun and Profit: Four years prior to the start of the story, two High Elves known as Crimson Moon Masha and Black Moon Ramiel invaded the Danakil Plains due to the water from the Lake of Life flowing into it, supposedly making the Danakil Plains the property of the elves. The two High Elves and their followers almost defeated the humans only to lose the war once Prince Polaris and Golden Dragon Archduke Magnus Fraiser intervened.

    Kiara

    Elder Heron

Elder Heron

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/heron.PNG

One of the High Elf Elders of the Great Elfen Forest. After Kiara agreed to stop attacking Zephyr and his party, she brought them to Elder Heron. After seeing how well Zephyr was able to suppress the poison coming from Blue Dragon Artalis in Sir Grimes, Elder Heron proposed they help each other.

Tropes:

  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Agreed to hear Zephyr out and proposed they help each other after seeing how effective Asmodeus was in treating Sir Grimes. When Fade visited the Great Elfen Forest before Zephyr, Elder Heron considered Fade to be a friend due to Fade treating several elves with his poisons, and considers Zephyr a friend as well due to how similar his treatment method was to Fade's. However, Elder Heron is not all that he seems...
  • Treacherous Advisor: What Elder Heron actually is. Originally, Elder Heron wanted to raise Dariel to bring him to Elder Heron's side, but Dariel would never betray Broken Moon Silvestia, the Queen of the Great Elfen Forest and his mother. However, after Zephyr arrived in the Great Elfen Forest, Elder Heron made plans to manipulate Zephyr into helping him retrieve the final Seal Box hidden within the Twelve Towers in the Great Elfen Forest, which would allow Elder Heron to start his own kingdom and abandon the Great Elfen Forest. In addition, on the night before the Blue Dragon Raid, Elder Heron waited for Daisy and Milia to finally leave so he could alter half of the Golems to force them into being his loyal subordinates.
  • Blinded by the Light: Elder Heron's <Flash Light> skill blinds his opponents for up to three seconds. He used this skill against Captain Regulus, Sir Grimes, and a priest to stun them while he stole the core of the magic circle protecting the fort.
  • Fragile Speedster: Despite having little to no fighting prowess, Elder Heron can move extremely fast by using <Acceleration>. Using that skill, he swiftly stole the core of the magic circle protecting the fort and after the demonified Crimson Moon Masha devoured him, she gained his speed.
  • Voice Changeling: Elder Heron used an Imp Acorn to imitate Altair's voice, tricking Captain Regulus into opening the door to the storage the core of the magic circle was in.
  • Off with His Head!: How Elder Heron and his followers died after retrieving the final Seal Box hidden within the Twelve Towers in the Great Elfen Forest. Just as they were celebrating, the demonified Crimson Moon Masha sliced off their heads, killing them so fast their facial expressions didn't have time to change from their joyous ones.

The Queen of the Great Elfen Forest and a High Elf. Queen Silvestia is Dariel the Divine Archer's and Kiara's mother. She has been bedridden and sick for a long time, and her condition only worsened after being poisoned by Blue Dragon Artalis.

Tropes:

  • Affectionate Nickname: Calls her husband Yggdrasil "Ygg".
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Is incredibly beautiful, and is a wise and loving queen who is friendly towards humans.
  • Big Damn Reunion: Had one with her children Dariel and Kiara after Ned brought her to them and the other elves. They cried tears of joy as they tightly embraced each other.
  • Brainwashing for the Greater Good: Uses her mind control abilities only for the greater good. After she gave him the Blessing of the Elf Queen, she also urged Ned to do the same.
  • Divine Date: Is married to Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life and a demigod. They have two children together, Dariel and Kiara, and love each other immensely.
  • Delicate and Sickly: Even before being poisoned by the poison coming from Blue Dragon Artalis, Queen Silvestia was described as being a patient who could do nothing more than lie in bed and twitch her eyelids by the High Elves who defected. Queen Silvestia was born blind and unable to walk, and became fully paralyzed after giving birth to Kiara. After being poisoned and enduring the affliction for three years, Queen Silvestia lost most of her remaining strength and would not be able to handle another move. However, after Zephyr purified the Tree of Life, Queen Silvestia regained consciousness and was able to effortlessly heal Ned, getting up to do so.
  • Good Parents: Is an excellent mother to both Dariel and Kiara. They care about her IMMENSELY and ask her for guidance when making difficult decisions.
  • Happily Married: To Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life.
  • Headbutt of Love: Gave one to Kiara while telling her that she was the miracle Queen Silvestia and Yggdrasil desperately wished for, causing Kiara to cry as she realized just how dearly her parents thought of her.
  • Healing Hands: Is a very capable healer, able to effortlessly heal Ned to full health despite him sustaining nearly fatal wounds from his fight against a demonified Crimson Moon Masha.
  • The High Queen: Was described as being a wise and loving queen, being loved dearly by her children and most of her subjects.
  • Interspecies Friendship: Was friendly with humans to the point that Crimson Moon Masha looked down on her for being "chummy with humans".
  • Lap Pillow: Put Ned's head on her lap while she was healing him with a motherly smile on her face.
  • Let's Have Another Baby: Despite being fully paralyzed and comatose after giving birth to Kiara, Queen Silvestia woke up 15 years after giving birth to Kiara just to have Dariel and managed to tell Kiara of her destiny before becoming comatose once more.
  • Malicious Slander: Was the victim of this. Some believe Kiara is different from other High Elves because Queen Silvestia had conceived her with another elf and therefore—unlike Dariel—Kiara is not actually Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life's child. In reality, Kiara is Queen Silvestia's and Yggdrasil's child. However, Kiara was not conceived through Queen Silvestia drinking from the <Chalice of Conception>, but through more...natural means.
  • Mind Control: As the current Queen of the Great Elfen Forest, Queen Silvestia has the power to control the minds of her subjects. However, she failed to do so against Crimson Moon Masha and Black Moon Ramiel before they could start a war with the humans of the Danakil Plains, leading several High Elves to being disillusioned with her and leaving to start their own kingdoms. However, after waking up, Queen Silvestia regained the ability to control the minds of her subjects, and will do so to make sure they stay loyal to the Danakil territory and Altair.
  • The Nose Knows: Possesses an incredibly keen sense of smell. Queen Silvestia smelled the blood from Ned's wounds, was able to tell that it was his blood and not Crimson Moon Masha's, and told him to come over so she could heal him.
  • Parents in Distress: Queen Silvestia has been sick for a long time with Dariel and Kiara worrying for her GREATLY. Her being poisoned only increased their worries exponentially. Fortunately, thanks to Zephyr, she had been treated of the poison. Unfortunately, Queen Silvestia remained comatose and became a target of interest to the demonified Crimson Moon Masha upon Crimson Moon Masha regaining some cognitive ability after consuming Elder Heron's blood. Fortunately, Ned protected Queen Silvestia and with the help of the Tree of Life, was able to kill Crimson Moon Masha. Afterwards, Queen Silvestia regained consciousness and healed Ned.
  • Protectorate: Before the Blue Dragon Raid began in the current timeline, Zephyr assigned Ned to the most rear position to protect Queen Silvestia. Ned was initially irked by the request until the demonified Crimson Moon Masha came barging in, after which Ned ambushed her with several skillful slashes from the Sword of Mirage before blasting her with a powerful <Thunderbolt>. After an intense battle, Ned was able to kill Crimson Moon Masha while the Tree of Life bound her with his roots.
  • Super-Empowering: Can gift others her <Mind Control> skill via the Blessing of the Elf Queen. Those with said blessing can use the skill twice.
  • Vine Tentacles: Uses beautiful floral vines as her hands and feet, due to being unable to walk.

The Tree of Life and the being that gives the elves their power. Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life spreads his roots throughout the Great Elfen Forest to protect the elves within. High Elves with the <Pupil of the Cross> have strong connections to the Tree of Life and can borrow vast sums of power from him while those with the <Pupil of Destruction> have been forcibly cut off from him. He chooses the next King or Queen of the Great Elfen Forest, the ruler of the elves and those who will have his children.

Tropes:

  • Act of True Love: Would rather die than harm his wife and children, which was why he made Zephyr promise to kill him when the time comes.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: His humanoid form is this. The Tree of Life's true form is, well, a tree. Yggdrasil takes on his humanoid form when communicating to those within his tree body. Since he cannot take on his humanoid form outside of his tree body, the only ones he showed it to are Queen Silvestia and Zephyr. However, since Queen Silvestia is blind, the only one who has seen his true form is Zephyr.
  • Because Destiny Says So: Yggdrasil, like the Seven Dragons, is bound by an absolute mission that cannot be escaped unless he dies. In the previous timeline, the Tree of Life became hostile to humans and had to be killed by one of Zephyr's comrades lest he become a serious threat even while still poisoned. In the current timeline, Yggdrasil made Zephyr promise to kill him when the time comes so he cannot hurt his wife and children.
  • Because I Said So: How the next King or Queen is chosen. Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life chooses whom he sees fit. In addition, the reason why Dariel does not aspire to be the next King of the Great Elfen Forest is because the Tree of Life told him he wasn't fated to become one.
  • Changing Yourself for Love: Before knowing of Queen Silvestia's love, Yggdrasil did not question his mission and would have carried it out when the time came. However, after receiving Queen Silvestia's love, Yggdrasil now wants to go against his mission and hence he made Zephyr promise to kill him so he cannot carry out his mission.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Like most other High Elves, Yggdrasil has the <Pupil of the Cross>.
  • Good Parents: Yggdrasil was truly grateful when Zephyr helped Dariel and Kiara. He deeply cares for them and they, in turn, love and respect him IMMENSELY, asking him for guidance when making difficult decisions and doing whatever they could to purify him when he was poisoned. In addition, Yggdrasil would rather die than harm them.
  • Happily Married: To Queen Silvestia.
  • Green Thumb: Creator of the Great Elfen Forest and can inject code into the plants, such as the <Mana Flower>, to help with upkeep and purification.
  • Healing Hands: Was able to completely reconstruct Zephyr's body in a little over 72 hours, making him well and strong enough to have Blue Dragon Artalis's Dragon Heart transplanted into him.
  • Healing Herb: In addition, Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life offered Zephyr fruits rich with sap to heal him further after Zephyr woke up from the complete reconstruction.
  • The Maker: Of elves. Yggdrasil, and presumably the other Trees of Life, are what created the elves in the first place.
  • Murder Is the Best Solution: After overhearing through Dariel Zephyr and Altair discuss Aederius's inability to oppose the killing of dragons even if he comes to hate them, Yggdrasil muttered how it would be best to get rid of Aederius now.
  • Mystical Pregnancy: Depending on if he chooses a King or a Queen, how his children will be born will change. If he chooses a King, the Tree of Life's flower will bloom and bear golden seeds when a King goes into a boudoir. If he chooses a Queen, a perfect child that can lead the Great Elfen Forest will be born. However, in Kiara's case, she was conceived through more...natural means.
  • Parents in Distress: After Blue Dragon Artalis made her nest in the Lake of Life, she used <Language Enchantment> to imprison him while the poison seeping out of Blue Dragon Artalis infected him. However, after Zephyr killed Blue Dragon Artalis and tricked Black Moon Ramiel into purifying the Tree of Life and the Lake of Life, Yggdrasil returned to being his powerful self.
  • The Promise: Made Zephyr promise to kill him when the time came in exchange for Yggdrasil transplanting Blue Dragon Artalis's Dragon Heart into Zephyr.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life devotes himself to spreading order and believes good deeds done for him must be repaid by good deeds of his own.
  • Seeing Through Another's Eyes: Outside of his tree body, Yggdrasil creates incarnations of himself in the form of animals such as birds and deer. This lets him better watch over the Great Elfen Forest and those within it.
  • Semi-Divine: Is a demigod, someone who's akin to a god but hasn't reached that state.
  • Telepathy: Can read a person's thoughts from the signals emitted from their bodies and can peek into dreams. Zephyr wasn't too thrilled about any of this.
  • Wise Tree: Is this, being who Dariel and Kiara ask for guidance from when they need to make difficult decisions. In addition, Yggdrasil was able to read through Zephyr, pointing out that Zephyr would have had his body destroyed due to the output of the Dragon Heart being at 23% had Yggdrasil not reconstructed Zephyr's body for him.
  • World Tree: Is based off of Yggdrasil from Norse mythology.

    Blacksmith Noel

Blacksmith Noel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/noel.PNG

One of Broken Moon Silvestia, the Queen of the Great Elfen Forest's servants and the greatest elf blacksmith. He helped in the forging of the Black Dragon Longbow, Black Dragon Arrows, Black Dragon Chain, and the production of countless other items needed for the Blue Dragon Raid.

Tropes:

  • Challenge Seeker: Wasn't put off by Zephyr's endless requests, instead blazing with the spirit of challenge and being eager to take on such daunting tasks.
  • Ultimate Blacksmith: Noel definitely is one, seeing as how he was essential in the forging of weapons and items for the Blue Dragon Raid. His masterpiece, the Black Dragon Chain, was strong enough to bind Blue Dragon Artalis's jaws. The Black Dragon Chain could not be broken with brute force, and Blue Dragon Artalis had to resort to using her strong telekinetic powers to break it.

    Crimson Moon Masha

Crimson Moon Masha

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crimson_moon.PNG
Click here to see her demon form

A Queen Candidate sixty years ago and the High Elf who started the war with the humans of the Danakil Plains four years ago alongside Black Moon Ramiel. Both Crimson Moon Masha and Black Moon Ramiel started the war to prove their worthiness to the Tree of Life and to claim the Danakil Plains for themselves. They overpowered the humans and were on the brink of victory only to be defeated by Prince Polaris and Golden Dragon Archduke Magnus Fraiser. However, they managed to steal a Seal Box before barely escaping Dariel the Divine Archer and the Great Elfen Forest with their lives.

Tropes:

  • Brains and Brawn: The “brawn” to Black Moon Ramiel’s “brains”. After both demonified, Crimson Moon Masha became much larger than Black Moon Ramiel, and she gained a strength so immense she could easily one-shot her opponents with brute force. However, in exchange, she lost most of her cognitive abilities until she consumed Elder Heron, the Water of Life in his blood restoring some of her cognitive abilities.
  • Dramatic Irony: Despite having been defeated by Prince Polaris, Crimson Moon Masha and Black Moon Ramiel ended up groveling before him after barely escaping with their lives.
  • Eye Scream: What happened to Crimson Moon Masha's right eye as she was fleeing from Dariel. By the time she and Black Moon Ramiel were groveling before Prince Polaris, she had to cover the entire right side of her face with bandages.
  • Extra Eyes: However, after demonifying, her eye grew back. In fact, she also gained three additional eyes, all yellow.
  • Hunter Of Her Own Kind: After Crimson Moon Masha barely escaped from Dariel with her life, she grew to hate her fellow elves and used that hatred to grow stronger as she was demonifying. After her power stabilized, she and the demonified Black Moon Ramiel confronted Blue Dragon Artalis in attempt to obtain her Dragon Heart, all in hopes of becoming strong enough to decimate the Great Elfen Forest and to murder all the elves within.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: After killing Elder Heron and his followers, the demonified Crimson Moon Masha proceeded to devour him, tearing him from limb to limb. The Water of Life within Elder Heron's blood helped her recover the meaning of the various words within her mind.
  • Killed Offscreen: Was killed by Ned with the Sun Sword, the Moon Sword, and the Sword of Mirage while the Tree of Life bound her with his roots.
  • Madness Mantra: After seeing Queen Silvestia for the first time since she was banished and after becoming a demon, Crimson Moon Masha kept on chanting the word 'die' before lunging at the comatose queen.
  • Mark of the Beast: As Crimson Moon Masha was demonifying, her <Pupil of the Cross> had became the <Pupil of Destruction>, proof that she had committed an unforgivable sin.
  • Power Copy: Thanks to her Marked Bug, Crimson Moon Masha gained the ability to copy the abilities of those she devours via <Gluttony>. After devouring Elder Heron, she gained his <Acceleration> skill and used it to rush to Queen Silvestia's bedchambers. She later was able to copy Ned's Dragon King-Style Martial Arts moves and capabilities without even eating him, proving to be a troublesome enemy who required Ned's all in order to defeat, and was just barely able to with help from the Tree of Life.
  • Powerful, but Incompetent: After demonifying, although Crimson Moon Masha's destructive prowess had sharply increased, her cognitive abilities were reduced to the point she could not enter one of the Twelve Towers in the Great Elfen Forest to obtain the final Seal Box and could not do so for three whole years. It was only upon killing Elder Heron and his followers after they had retrieved the final Seal Box did she obtain it, and only after consuming his blood did she regain some cognitive ability.
  • Pride: A HUGE part of the reason why Crimson Moon Masha looked down upon Broken Moon Silvestia, the Queen of the Great Elfen Forest; because she is proud of her prowess and was enraged that a "blind cripple" was chosen over her.
  • Revenge: Crimson Moon Masha's main motivation after being banished. She sought the Leader of the Tartarus Worshippers Prince Polaris to help her get revenge on the elves, remembered nothing but wanting revenge against the elves and words relating to her revenge after demonifying, and fought with everything on the line against Blue Dragon Artalis all for the sake of revenge.
  • Sanity Slippage: After demonifying, Crimson Moon Masha lost her rationality, only remembering her hostility towards elves and the words "throne", "usurp", "revenge", and "seed" without remembering their meanings.
  • The Worf Effect: However, despite all the power she gained from demonifying and despite regaining some cognitive ability from consuming Elder Heron's blood, Crimson Moon Masha was ambushed by several skillful slashes from Ned's Sword of Mirage before being blasted with a powerful <Thunderbolt> and was later Killed Offscreen.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Cardinal Oldin Lasker seemed to want to help Crimson Moon Masha and Black Moon Ramiel get revenge on the elves of the Great Elfen Forest by telling them about Blue Dragon Artalis and offering to help them kill her. However, in reality, they were nothing more than harbingers of havoc and retrievers of Blue Dragon Artalis's Dragon Heart; the Tartarus Worshippers never told them of the necessity of the Dragon Heart transplant and the fatality that would ensue without said transplant. Which was why after Black Moon Ramiel used Blue Dragon Artalis's Dragon Heart to amplify the power of his poison and transformed the Great Elfen Forest and the Danakil Plains into unlivable hellscapes in the previous timeline, the dragon's mana killed him and Elfriede later retrieved both Blue Dragon Artalis's Dragon Heart and Black Moon Ramiel's mana stone.

    Black Moon Ramiel

Black Moon Ramiel

Click here to see his demon form

A King Candidate sixty years ago and the High Elf who started the war with the humans of the Danakil Plains four years ago alongside Crimson Moon Masha. Both Black Moon Ramiel and Crimson Moon Masha started the war to prove their worthiness to the Tree of Life and to claim the Danakil Plains for themselves.

Tropes:

  • Barrier Warrior: Can create powerful barriers, as seen when he prevented Aederius from retrieving Blue Dragon Artalis's Dragon Heart in the previous timeline and how he could block Zephyr's attacks while Zephyr was in <Berserk Dragon Mode> in the current timeline.
  • Brains and Brawn: The “brains” to Crimson Moon Masha’s “brawn”. Even after demonifying, Black Moon Ramiel retained his cognitive abilities and could come up with clever schemes. While fighting against Zephyr, Black Moon Ramiel deduced that Zephyr’s increasing desperation stemmed from his <Dragonification> almost running out. Too bad Zephyr proved to be such a strong opponent that even while burning from the Sword of Light, Zephyr would have killed Black Moon Ramiel with said Sword of Light. Which made Black Moon Ramiel unable to simply wait out the duration of <Dragonification> and led to him using <Venom Spear>. Which led to the Tree of Life being purified and stabbing Black Moon Ramiel with his roots.
  • Dramatic Irony: Despite having been defeated by Prince Polaris, Black Moon Ramiel and Crimson Moon Masha ended up groveling before him after barely escaping with their lives.
  • Evil Gloating: After Black Moon Ramiel stole Blue Dragon Artalis's Dragon Heart in the previous timeline, Black Moon Ramiel taunted Altair and her party by thanking them before mocking the Tree of Life and taking over the Great Elfen Forest and the Danakil Plains. In the current timeline, Black Moon Ramiel engaged in evil gloating against Zephyr, expressing his enjoyment over Zephyr’s screams and basking in his potential victory right until the Tree of Life impaled Black Moon Ramiel from behind with his roots.
  • Eye Scream: What happened to Black Moon Ramiel's left eye as he was fleeing from Dariel. It was to the point that by the time he and Crimson Moon Masha were groveling before Prince Polaris, the left side of his face was drooping.
  • Extra Eyes: However, after demonifying, his eye grew back. In fact, he also gained three additional eyes, one purple like his previously missing eye and two red.
  • Hunter of His Own Kind: After Black Moon Ramiel barely escaped from Dariel with his life, he grew to hate his fellow elves and used that hatred to grow stronger as he was demonifying. After his power stabilized, he and the demonified Crimson Moon Masha confronted Blue Dragon Artalis in attempt to obtain her Dragon Heart, all in hopes of becoming strong enough to decimate the Great Elfen Forest and to murder all the elves within.
  • Mark of the Beast: As Black Moon Ramiel was demonifying, his <Pupil of the Cross> had became the <Pupil of Destruction>, proof that he had committed an unforgivable sin.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Suffered this from both the Tree of Life as he stabbed his roots into Black Moon Ramiel from behind after he was purified, and from Zephyr after boring a clawed hand straight through Black Moon Ramiel's skull.
  • Negated Moment of Awesome: In the current timeline, just as Black Moon Ramiel dispelled his <Petrification> and was about to obtain Blue Dragon Artalis's Dragon Heart, Zephyr unceremoniously flung him out of Blue Dragon Artalis's corpse using Gram. Although Black Moon Ramiel put up a really good fight, Zephyr managed to defeat him within 48 seconds with the help of the Tree of Life and prevented him from repeating what he did in the previous timeline.
  • Pride: A HUGE part of the reason why Black Moon Ramiel looked down upon Broken Moon Silvestia, the Queen of the Great Elfen Forest; because he is proud of his prowess and was enraged that a "blind cripple" was chosen over him.
  • Revenge: Black Moon Ramiel's main motivation after being banished. He sought the Leader of the Tartarus Worshippers Prince Polaris to help him get revenge on the elves and fought with everything on the line against Blue Dragon Artalis all for the sake of revenge.
  • Poisonous Person: After demonifying, Black Moon Ramiel gained the <Extreme Venom> ability, creating poison so powerful it could poison a dragon and could not be detoxified by most means. After attacking Black Moon Ramiel, Blue Dragon Artalis nearly died from the horrendous poison and was forced to go to the Lake of Life to prolong her life, kickstarting the poison disaster within the Great Elfen Forest and the Danakil Plains. In addition, after Blue Dragon Artalis was slain by Altair and her party in the previous timeline, Black Moon Ramiel stole Blue Dragon Artalis's Dragon Heart and used it to amplify the power of his poison, melting whatever it touched and turning the Great Elfen Forest and the Danakil Plains into unlivable hellscapes.
  • Special Attack: Black Moon Ramiel's Exclusive Skill: <Venom Spear>. Using both his High Elf powers and demon powers, Black Moon Ramiel can condense poison into a powerful spear that can even pierce a dragon's scales. However...
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Because <Venom Spear> absorbs poison from its surroundings, Black Moon Ramiel essentially purified the Tree of Life and the Lake of Life, which allowed the Tree of Life to impale Black Moon Ramiel with his roots and allowed Zephyr to deal the finishing blow. Zephyr knew of the purifying effect due to his encounters with Elfriede in the previous timeline, and knew that the Great Elfen Forest would be able to recover so much faster after Black Moon Ramiel sucked the poison out of his immediate area. That was why Zephyr baited Black Moon Ramiel into using it.
  • Taken for Granite: Black Moon Ramiel also gained the ability to turn himself into stone via <Petrification> after he became a demon, using this ability to protect himself from Blue Dragon Artalis's stomach acids. In the previous timeline, Black Moon Ramiel was able to stay in that state for four years and four months, waiting for Altair and her party to slay Blue Dragon Artalis before dispelling his <Petrification>. In the current timeline, Zephyr preemptively attacked Black Moon Ramiel just as he was reanimating and defeated him within 48 seconds with the help of the Tree of Life.
  • Talking Is a Free Action: Black Moon Ramiel tried to invoke this he attempted to make a deal with Zephyr...only for Zephyr to try to attack him mid-sentence anyways.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Cardinal Oldin Lasker seemed to want to help Black Moon Ramiel and Crimson Moon Masha get revenge on the elves of the Great Elfen Forest by telling them about Blue Dragon Artalis and offering to help them kill her.
