The Tomb of the Fallen Princess

An imposing dungeon that was one of the eight most difficult challenges in the world. The dungeon was crawling with undead skeletons and the walls exuded an intense evil energy. The Third Parish of the Temple of Light was built as a base of operations for Lucius to raid the Tomb of the Fallen Princess. They have failed for ten years, with Zephyr joining the final raid.

The Gatekeeper to the Boss Room of the Tomb of the Fallen Princess. Under normal circumstances, the Gatekeeper Georgios must first be defeated before entering the Boss Room. He was once The Knight Georgios, one of The Twelve Heroes who fought off the demons over a thousand years ago.

Tropes:

  • Apologetic Attacker: Georgios sincerely apologized to Kaisaurus the Black Dragon before killing him. In addition, Georgios felt remorseful for having to wound and subdue Blue Dragon Artalis.
  • Awful Truth: The secret of the world. The truth is so terrible, Georgios could no longer continue being friends with Blue Dragon Artalis and was forced to subdue her after she posed a threat.
  • Badass Cape: Donned one with his armor. Zephyr obtained it along with the Dragon Slayer's Plate Coat, Plate Boots, Gauntlet Set after defeating and purifying him.
  • Beat the Curse Out of Him: When Zephyr defeated the Gatekeeper Georgios with the Sword of Light's exclusive skill <Yehi Or (Let There Be Light)>, Zephyr also broke the curse due to the powerful curse removal effect of <Yehi Or (Let There Be Light)>.
  • BFS: Gram is quite a large sword, even when Georgios originally wielded it before being cursed.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: The demon curse made Georgios think of wanting nothing but to annihilate humanity.
  • Connected All Along: Georgios is the ancestor of Altair Justina Cayenne, the one Zephyr loved and still loves. After Zephyr defeated and purified Georgios, he took Georgios's sword Gram and the dragon slayer's armor. Georgios is also the ancestor of Polaris Albert Cayenne, Altair’s eldest brother and the current Leader of the Tartarus Worshippers.
  • Curse: Thanks to Golden/Gold Dragon Magnus Fraiser lying about removing the curse that had been on the Dragon Heart, when Eurydice transplanted it into Georgios, he was unintentionally afflicted with the same curse that had affected Kaisaurus, turning him into a monster who seeks to annihilate humanity. Even after Eurydice ripped the Dragon Heart out of him, Georgios remained cursed until over a thousand years later.
  • Died Happily Ever After: After Zephyr and Ned departed the Third Parish of the Temple of Light, Georgios passed on to the afterlife in peace with a purified Eurydice, having passed on their mission to Zephyr and their descendant Altair.
  • The Dragon Slayer: One of Georgios's titles was "Dragon Slayer". His armor is called the "Dragon Slayer's Plate Coat, Plate Boots, Gauntlet Set". His sword, Gram, displays even greater power against dragons. And Georgios was the one who killed Kaisaurus the Black Dragon.
  • Dying as Yourself: When Zephyr used <Yehi Or (Let There Be Light)>, Georgios finally returned to his normal self. Later on, he passed on to the afterlife with Eurydice, who had also been purified.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Even as the Gatekeeper, Georgios seemed to genuinely love Eurydice, as seen when he gave her some of his mana after she was initially defeated, bringing her back. After being purified, the "evil" part no longer applies.
  • Face–Monster Turn: The demon curse turned Georgios from a human into a monster. After being cursed, Georgios changed from wanting to protect humanity to wanting to destroy it.
  • Heel–Face Turn: And after being purified and returning to his normal self, Georgios became good again before departing for the afterlife with Eurydice.
  • Gate Guardian: As the Gatekeeper, Georgios was this.
  • Good Parents: Georgios's main motivation for wanting the Dragon Heart transplanted into him was to have the power to give his and Eurydice's daughter a safe world to live in.
  • Greed: As the Gatekeeper, Georgios coveted the Dragon Heart with his entire being, saying it belongs to only him over and over again.
  • Happily Married: To Eurydice. Before becoming cursed, that is.
  • Heroic Resolve: Georgios wanted nothing more than to defeat the demons and to protect humanity. Eurydice saw the same resolve in Zephyr, which was what finally convinced her to transplant the Dragon Heart into him.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: Although Eurydice was no damsel in distress, Georgios was still this to her. After killing Kaisaurus and presenting the Dragon Heart to Eurydice, Georgios finally confessed to her and they eventually got married and had a daughter. The Fallen Princess Eurydice even called him this after he, as the Gatekeeper, gave her some of his mana.
  • Lady and Knight: The "knight" to Eurydice's "lady".
  • Living Distant Ancestor: Was this to Altair and Polaris before finally passing on.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Has long white hair, and is quite attractive (when not cursed).
  • Monster Knight: After being cursed, the Gatekeeper Georgios became one.
  • One Head Taller: Is this to Eurydice.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Since Eurydice had her and Georgios's daughter a thousand years ago and he had been kept alive due to the demon curse, it is a given that Georgios outlived his daughter.
  • Pragmatic Hero: After Blue Dragon Artalis posed a threat, Georgios immediately responded by slicing off two of her horns and nailing <The White Queen's Finger> into her chest, sealing her powers for ten years and creating a wound that later became a devastating weakness.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Depending on the translation, his name may be spelled as either "Georgios" or "Georgius".
  • Strong and Skilled: Has both immense strength and immense fighting ability. No wonder he was Eurydice's knight.
  • Victory Through Intimidation: For the raid a year prior to the one Zephyr joined, just the sight of the Gatekeeper was enough for Lucius and his raid party to flee in sheer terror.
  • Weapon of X-Slaying: Gram displays even stronger power against dragons, making it an ideal weapon when facing one.

The eponymous Fallen Princess of the Tomb of the Fallen Princess. Eurydice took the Dragon Heart with her to her tomb a thousand years ago and casted numerous spells to prevent her from being disturbed. In reality, she was once The Grand Sorceress Princess Eurydice and the leader of The Twelve Heroes. Eurydice spent the last thousand years in her tomb purifying the Dragon Heart. However, after purifying the Dragon Heart, she fell victim to the curse that had once plagued it, making her evil.

Tropes:

  • 11th-Hour Superpower: Upon receiving some of the Gatekeeper Georgios's mana after her initial defeat, the Fallen Princess came back stronger than before.
  • Achilles' Heel: While transforming into her second form, the Fallen Princess Eurydice momentarily cannot move. Zephyr took advantage of this by having Ned drop the Stake of Faith on her while she was immobilized.
  • Action Girl: Eurydice was the strongest sorcerer in all of history and was the leader of The Twelve Heroes.
  • The Archmage: As the strongest sorcerer in all of history, Eurydice definitely qualifies as one.
  • Attack Reflector: Eurydice's <Black Mirror> spell reflects any damage taken by 300%.
  • Beat the Curse Out of Her: Thanks to the Sword of Light's exclusive skill <Yehi Or (Let There Be Light)>, Eurydice's curse was finally broken and she returned to being her former self.
  • Beautiful All Along: Eurydice was a very beautiful woman a thousand years ago, and is shown to still be beautiful after being purified.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: After becoming good again, Eurydice becomes beautiful once more.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: The demon curse made Eurydice lose her mind, trapping her in a terrifying darkness with her only being freed after Zephyr purified her.
  • Character Level: Eurydice reached Level 7 of the Ancient Magics of Medea, and speculated that Altair might reach Level 8, something she herself could never do.
  • Connected All Along: Eurydice is the ancestor of Altair Justina Cayenne, the one Zephyr loved and still loves. After Zephyr purified Eurydice, she transplanted the Dragon Heart into him. Eurydice is also the ancestor of Polaris Albert Cayenne, Altair’s eldest brother and the current Leader of the Tartarus Worshippers.
  • Curse: Eurydice was afflicted by the curse on the Dragon Heart after spending the last thousand years purifying it.
  • Dead Man Writing: After Eurydice crumbled to ash, Eurydice left a message in the Crystal of Magic found in the ashes explaining the power of the Dragon Heart and telling Zephyr to give the Crystal of Magic to Altair, Eurydice's descendant, so she can help him. Turns out Eurydice also left a separate message for Altair, which activated after Altair absorbed the Crystal of Magic.
  • Died Happily Ever After: After Zephyr and Ned departed the Third Parish of the Temple of Light, Eurydice passed on to the afterlife in peace with a purified Georgios, having passed on their mission to Zephyr and their descendant Altair.
  • The Dulcinea Effect: Invoked on Ned. The Fallen Princess's spell caused Ned to feel sorry for her and to walk towards her while wondering what he can do to take away some of her sadness. If Zephyr had not caught Ned, he would have been devoured.
  • Energy Absorption: The <Dark Hand> skill absorbs energy with the red hands absorbing stamina and the blue hands absorbing mana.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Even while cursed, Eurydice genuinely loved Georgios as seen when she cried after receiving some of the Gatekeeper's mana, calling him her "knight in shining armor". After being purified, the "evil" part no longer applies.
  • Evil Makes You Ugly: After being cursed, Eurydice became a hideous monster with multiple repulsive forms. However, after being purified, Eurydice reverted to her original appearance albeit being very pale.
  • Evil Sorcerer: The Fallen Princess Eurydice was an evil sorceress who killed countless people. However, she only became evil upon being afflicted by the curse that was on the Dragon Heart after purifying it, and it seems like her killing all those people really might have been a false rumor.
  • Face–Monster Turn: The demon curse turned Eurydice from a human into a monster. After being afflicted by the curse on the Dragon Heart after purifying it, Eurydice became evil.
  • Heel–Face Turn: And after being purified by Zephyr, Eurydice became good again.
  • Happily Married: To Georgios. Before he became cursed, that is.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Eurydice spent the last thousand years doing nothing but purifying the Dragon Heart to give it to someone worthy, so the world can be saved.
  • Instant Runes: Eurydice's Magic Circles utilize these.
  • Lady and Knight: The "lady" to Georgios's "knight".
  • The Leader: Of The Twelve Heroes and who gathered the other eleven.
  • Living Distant Ancestor: Was this to Altair and Polaris before finally passing on.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After transplanting an unknowingly still-cursed Dragon Heart into Georgios, she was horrified upon seeing him transforming into a monster. This is part of the reason why Eurydice initially refused to transplant the Dragon Heart into Zephyr even after it had been purified, and he had to convince her that he could handle it.
  • Near-Villain Victory: If Zephyr had not succeeded in his ultimatum to the gods, the Fallen Princess would have killed Zephyr and Ned.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Thanks to the <Spacial Distortion> spell, Eurydice cannot even be touched by almost anything except by divine items such as the Sword of Light.
  • One-Winged Angel: After having her head cut off, the Fallen Princess transforms into her second form and becomes vastly more powerful. However, she is unable to move during the transformation, which Zephyr had Ned take advantage of.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Since Eurydice had her and Georgios's daughter a thousand years ago and she had kept herself alive from then to a thousand years later, it is a given that Eurydice outlived her daughter.
  • Passing the Torch: To Zephyr after he finally convinced her to transplant the Dragon Heart into him.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Thanks to a giant magic circle embodying the Tree of Life, Eurydice was able to stay alive for a thousand years while she was purifying the Dragon Heart.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: The Fallen Princess's eyes are red, and she was an incredibly dangerous foe who nearly defeated Zephyr. However, after being purified, this is no longer the case; although Eurydice's eyes are still red, she is no longer evil.
  • Reduced to Dust: After exhausting her extended lifespan while transplanting the Dragon Heart into Zephyr, Eurydice crumbled to ash.
  • Resting Recovery: Eurydice had Ned rest for three days after giving him some of her mana and forcing him to throw up his Marked Bug, which remained a larva due to him never using its power.
  • Significant Name Shift: Eurydice had Georgios refer to her by her name instead of "Royal Highness" after he presented the Dragon Heart to her and before she reciprocated his feelings.
  • Space Master: Eurydice made the Stake of Faith vanish by dropping it into an unknown space. In addition, the <Spacial Distortion> spell allows Eurydice to be nigh untouchable by distorting the space around her. Consequently, this also makes her attacks unable to hit her targets, forcing her to manifest again to attack. However, divine items are able to completely bypass the protection.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Depending on the translation, her name may be spelled as either "Eurydice" or "Yuridika".
  • Strong and Skilled: Has both immense magical abilities and a vast array of spells. No wonder she was considered to be the strongest sorcerer of all time.
  • Tears of Joy: Eurydice shedded these after realizing she could let go of her burden due to Zephyr succeeding her legacy.
  • Touch Telepathy: Eurydice's <Communion> skill allows her to read the emotions and memories of another through physical contact. Zephyr had her use the skill to look into his memories so he could convey the reason he wanted the Dragon Heart.
  • Who Dares?: After Zephyr and Ned entered the Boss Room without defeating the Gatekeeper Georgios, the Fallen Princess Eurydice appeared, demanding who dared disturb her royal slumber.
  • "World's Best" Character: Was considered to be the strongest sorcerer of all time.
