As a trope prone to subjectivity, most Cool Pet wicks are just mentions of how (and sometimes not even why) the troper thinks a character's pet is cool. I did a wick check to see how the trope is used, thinking it might go in the same way as Awesome McCoolname in the IUEO department. 'Tis not to be, as there were very few In-Universe acknowledgements discussed.

1. Characters.Warcraft Wild Gods: A variation of sorts. Monk players can summon an effigy of him who fights alongside them.
2. EnsembleDarkHorse.Jo Jos Bizarre Adventure: The Egypt 9 Glory Gods, the Praetorian Guard characters of the Part's second half, are generally much more liked by the fans. For particular standouts, there's...Pet Shop (for his status as an ice-wielding bird of prey with a vicious, loyal Creepy Awesome nature, and especially for his brutal and intense fight with Iggy).
3. Fanfic.I Woke Up As A Dungeon Now What: Taylor's pixie counts as this, since it isn't one of her minions, but is instead a creature 'contracted' to her. It can also leave the dungeon, something her minions cannot do yet (Taylor finds out early on that her pixie can be upgraded to lead minions out of the dungeon with it).
4. HateSink.Animated Films: Aladdin: Prince Achmed not only insults the impoverished Aladdin, but also brandishes a horsewhip on two peasant children. Thankfully, Aladdin intervenes and Achmed is not in the movie for long. His next scene has him storming out of the Sultan's palace, humiliated, after Princess Jasmine's Cool Pet Rajah the Tiger bites his rear end, exposing his boxers.
5. KillerRabbit.Video Games: Kurasame Susaya in Final Fantasy Type-0 has a Tonberry as a Cool Pet, nicknamed the "Reaper's Right Hand". This one is on the player's side as a Guest-Star Party Member if Kurasame isn't available for Support Personnel^* In the PSP version, SP is multiplayer and he's there if there's no other players; in Type-0 HD, it's random staff members and he's chosen at random. Tonberry takes over when the story mandates Kurasame is unavailable. Tonberry comes equipped with the biggest knife he could find, two anti-One-Hit Kill accessories^* One prevents Instant Death, and one prevents Killsight, which causes all attacks to inflict Instant Death, Death Grudge, Thundaga SHG-II, and Curaga, and can killsteal an MA boss if you let him (read: don't kill it first).
6. Recap.Paperinik New Adventures S 1 E 48 Operation Hephaestus: Grigorji has a giant cat able to detect that Paperinik isn't really his master.
7. Sandbox.Sonic The Hedgehog Recurring Characters: Cheese usually does most of the attacking for Cream.

2. Characters.The Dragon Prince Main Characters: A pet chameleon-dog... thing. That can emit light.
3. Characters.Fighting Fantasy Star Pupils: He has two, his raven Vermithrax, who is also his Familiar, and his stallion Stormheart.
4. Characters.Friendship Is Magic Animal Companions: While he does less than most of the other ponies' pets, he's an alligator which is exotic enough to be cool. His entertainment value doesn't hurt his coolness factor either.
5. Characters.Honorable Hogwarts: Arlaug, a Swear Frog. It doesn't croak, it spouts obscenities.
6. Characters.The Lego Movie: While Rex sees them more as crew members than pets, they still count, being Velociraptors and everything.
7. Characters.Lore Olympus Olympians And Other Deities: In her first appearance she has an owl on her shoulder.
8. Characters.Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok: He has a falcon.
9. Characters.Sequential Art: He's a platypus!
10. Characters.Steven Universe Crystal Gems: It doesn't get any cooler than a pinkish red lion that lets out sonic roars that can cut though stone and create portals and has a hammerspace dimension in his mane.
11. Characters.Valkyria Chronicles 4 Imperial X 0: Fenrir, a wolf who was also a test subject. He'll even snuggle Crymaria in bed to comfort her.
12. ComicBook.E Man: Teddy Q. He's a koala, and not an ordinary one either.
13. ComicBook.Princeless: Sparky, Adrienne's former dragon guard.
14. Creator.Audrey Hepburn: While filming Green Mansions, since her character Rima was written as having a deer companion that followed her everywhere, in order to create a realistic bond she adopted a fawn named Pippin, who lived with her family and even slept in her room.

DarthWiki.The Scorpion: Formerly a Burmese python (that she performed with at the MTV award which Brittany Spears duplicated a couple years later), corn snakes, several designer ball pythons. 4 turtles (guess their names), a macaw named phoenix, a home made large koi pond with fish, formerly 5 dobermans, pitbulls, Persian cats, a Pomeranian she named after a gun (two-two), and a blue eyed mixed breed tamaskan she bred to look like a giant white wolf. Breeding exotics dogs has sorta become one of her many hobbies now that the band is on indefinite hiatus. Also has a large Shark tank in her in-house recording studio. And several horses.
16. TheDresdenFiles.Tropes A To M: Mister and Mouse. Mouse is a Temple Dog / Fu Dog with unspecified magical powers and human level (at least) intelligence. Mister is an enormous house cat (30+ pounds, but no excess fat) who loves Coca-Cola and food from Harry's favorite pub. He is so awesome that his true form and the way he appears to normal sight are exactly the same. Mister is too dignified to abide by such silly things as the laws of physics.
17. Fanfic.Harry Potter And The Ice Princess: Anna's owl, Skyla, already stands out as a pet choice, and then Anna learns about magic and the role owls play in delivering post.
18. Fanfic.Spirit Of Redemption: Shepard's pet varren Urz. Inverted with Solanna's dog and Makur's pet snow leopard. unsure how to invert this trope. commented out
19. Fanfic.Wig Ok Bruh: Eva and Izzy have a bear named Chainsaw in their apartment (though Eva says he's an animal companion).
20. Film.Home Alone 1: Buzz McCallister has a tarantula (Grammostola rosea) as a pet.
21. Literature.How To Keep Dinosaurs: All of the dinosaurs, especially the bigger and more fearsome ones.
22. Manga.Shoukoku No Altair: Balaban has a pet tiger named Al-Sakal (Redbeard), who later passes to Beyazit.
23. Music.EXO: Chanyeol owned a ferret in grade school.
24. MajorInjuryUnderreaction.Anime And Manga: Reborn! (2004): The first time Hibari summons his Box Animal, the hedgehog accidentally stabs one of its spikes straight through his hand. Hibari doesn't even blink. The hedgehog, on the other hand, goes batshit; it started multiplying rapidly, freaked out and crying over having hurt its owner, even though, Hibari tries to calm it down.
25. SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan.Live Action Films: Jungle Cruise has the experienced riverboat captain Frank, who wrestles jaguars (well, tames one and trains her to fake fights, but having a pet jaguar is still pretty manly) and navigates rapids, contrasted with Lily's foppish brother MacGregor who hates the jungle but goes along because his sister needs someone to pull her bacon out of the fire.
26. TokenEvilTeammate.Anime And Manga: Reborn! (2004): Despite what some fangirls will tell you and despite the fact he's almost always accompanied by an adorable bird pet, Kyoya Hibari isn't a much better person than Mukuro and Daemon.
27. WesternAnimation.Angela Anaconda: Cool Old Lady: Angela's grandmother, who goes on all sorts of wild adventures and even keeps an alligator as a pet. Notably, she looks just like Angela, but with white hair, so although Angela is unnerved by (and yet still admires) her wildness, it's implied that this will be her in the future.
