    Heinrich Belgar

Heinrich Belgar

Voiced by: Sho Hayami (Japanese), Christopher Corey Smith (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vc4_belgar.png

The pragmatic commander of X-0. He pilots the Lophius, a submarine/drill tank/micro warship/research vessel, in combat. Also has an actual submarine which is as big as a real battleship.

  • Asshole Victim: He gets killed when Nikola commits suicide by using a self-destruct trigger mechanism to blow herself up, taking him with her.
  • Bad Boss: He treats his subordinates like products and considers subordinate failures as defective products that should be disposed of. However, he is impeccably polite and never actually threatens or insults Forseti or Walz.
  • Big Bad: He is the main villain of the story and is responsible for some of the driving forces of the plot, some of them being the Valkyria experiment and the death of Riley's parents.
  • Catchphrase: "Recalibration", uttered by him whenever his Tykebombs fail him. This is obviously some kind of torture based on how scared his girls are of it, and how crazy they are after it.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He's described as "polite, [but] tends to be patronizing in his speech." He's always civil and seldom ever drops his calm smile, but he is an utterly cruel man who doesn't even pretend that he views people as anything besides tools to be exploited.
  • For Science!: The final chapter shows it best; Belgar tries to set off a nuclear explosion, just outside of the imperial capital, because he wanted to see what it would look like.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: For all his talks about sacrifice, he was ultimately sacrificed by his own Tyke-Bomb. Nobody felt sorry for him.
  • Karmic Death: He "calibrates" Nikola and Chiara to blow themselves up if they fail. So when Nikola realizes he failed, she makes sure he gets blown up with her.
  • Mad Scientist: He was so obsessed with his friend, Albert Miller's research, that he killed him and his entire family, except for Riley. Said research would eventually give birth to the Valkyrie-powered battleships and during the final mission, he keep ranting how he will now achieve their shared dream, despite the fact that Albert himself was horrified how his research could be used to create WMDs.
  • Piggybacking on Hitler: A rare fantasy version of the trope: Belgar cares nothing for the Empire's politics or larger goals, and is openly derisive of the Emperor. The only reason he joined them was because of their promise to give him unlimited funding and no enforcement of any ethical restraints on his experiments.
  • Sanity Slippage: He gets noticeably crazier with each additional piece of his supertank you destroy.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: Belgar keeps a calm, measured tone most of the time, even when he's announcing that he's about to "calibrate" his subordinates.
  • Spell My Name With An S: His surname is transliterated as "Berger" in the 10th Anniversary Illustration Book.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: The secret to defeating his colossal amphibious tank is to build ladders on it and climb up to attack the radiators, or just to hit the radiators with anti-armor mortars.
  • Yandere: A non-romantic example. As noted in Mad Scientist entry above, everything he does is done in the name of his "shared dream" with Albert Miller. He even goes on rant on how Albert "betrayed him" when he refused to continue the research upon realizing the horrible consequences that could come with it.
  • Your Answer to Everything: He can't go on for a minute without talking about sacrifices.

    Forseti (UNMARKED SPOILERS)

Forseti

Voiced by: Kaito Ishikawa (Japanese), Lucien Dodge (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vc4_forse.png

The strategist for X-0. He is also the real Kai Schulen, the older brother of Leena Schulen.

  • Broken Pedestal: The members of Squad E looked up to Kai before he defected to the Empire.
  • Cynicism Catalyst: Learning what the Federation, as well as Vinland, are doing with descendants of Valkyrur, turned him from a loyal soldier into a traitor.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He genuinely loves his sister and Klaus reveals at the end of the game that he plans to live in quiet with her and Angie once things are done, though their relationship has become difficult due to the events of the game.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: He is so obsessed with Angie's innocence and purity from conflict that he couldn't comprehend that, by the time you confront him in Centurion's reactor room, Angie was willingly powering the ship without being tricked by others unlike what happened with her original contract signing, because she wanted to save her friends.
  • Evil Cripple: He walks with a cane since during his escape from his defection, he had gotten clipped by a bullet.
  • Evil Former Friend: Fits this trope perfectly. Once he saw the abuse of Valkyria, he decided to become a mass murderer on the side of an obviously evil empire in order to save a handful of test subjects.
  • Evil Is Petty: He's offended when Claude stalls for time by fishing for details on the proposed surrender, so he withdraws the offer entirely (reasoning that it's technically past the deadline anyway), deciding to go immediately to the alternative to surrender.
  • Friendly Sniper: Back in the day, he was a friendly sniper who works with Claude and the others in the army. Now he's neither friendly nor a sniper.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: Left the Federation in disgust over their human weapons experiments, and ends up joining an Imperial organization for human weapons development.
  • Hypocrite: Big time.
    • For all his grandstanding and alleged disdain for the Federation's cruelty against the Valkyria, he's just as guilty. He treats Crymaria with utter contempt, referring to her as a weapon rather than a person and even taunts Crymaria during one of her emotional breakdowns by threatening to send her back to the laboratory if she fails him.
    • At the end of chapter 16, Forseti tells Claude and Riley that he grew to hate the Federation for how they treated the Valkyria as tools, regardless of them being young girls. Yet he's no different than the Federation in how he treats Nikola and Chiara. Forseti himself gives Chiara the order to self-destruct for failing him and smirks when he sees she's afraid of dying. He also orders Nikola to stall Claude, even if it meant her own death, without a second thought.
  • Moral Myopia: He think the Federation did an unspeakable crime with the three Valkyrur children. And that's why he's going to commit as many war crimes as he needs to in order to right that crime.
  • Non-Action Guy: His leg wound has confined him to a crutch and he's no longer any good in a straight fight. As an opponent he operates solely in the strategy field now.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: Forseti is an often brutal-strategist for X-0, but he does want to save the Valkyrurs who were put up to the Federation's questionable experiments. However, he has zero qualms about killing even more innocent people in the process, and he openly supports the Empire, who treats their Valkyria worse. Not to mention the fact that he is perfectly willing to throw anyone & everyone under-the-bus just to achieve his goals, including his friends and his sister. It becomes apparent to the player and to Squad E that Forseti is far more interested in his own personal ideals and resentments rather than actually trying to help others.
  • The Promise: Made one with Angie sometime before the story that he will save her, which drives his actions throughout the game.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Done in response to the treatment of Valkyrur children by the Federation, leaving Leena to take his place in Squad E.
  • Spell My Name With An S: His name is transliterated as "Forse" in the 10th Anniversary Illustration Book.
  • That Man Is Dead: He discards his old name and changes it to Forseti after joining X-0 and becoming its strategist.
  • The Unfettered: He is willing to do anything in order to save the handful Valkyria test subjects of the Federation, never mind that he has to kill a lot more in the process (or engaging in the same treatment towards the Empire counterparts, for that matter).
  • The Unfought: He is never fought directly in-game, and spends his last moments at his little sister's mercy after his attempts to retrieve Angie from the Centurion's Forbidden Zone were foiled.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: He's said to have been one during his childhood,
  • Villain Has a Point: Raz agrees with Kai's words that the Federation was twisted upon learning that the snow-cruisers' reactors had Valkyria as their cores.
  • We Can Rule Together: He actually offers Claude to join his cause, valuing his skills in the battlefield. Considering what he pulled throughout the story though, Claude refused.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's hard to say anything about him without referring to the fact that he's also the real Kai Schulen.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: He is willing do whatever it takes to save Angie and the rest of the Federation Valkyria from their fate. Unfortunately, he is also willing to sacrifice millions in the process.
  • Yandere: A non-romantic example towards Angie. Saving her is his driving goal, but he crosses numerous moral lines for her sake, and his affection for her is unhinged and disturbing. It's equally disturbing to remember that all of this was due to his mind getting broken by the Federation's willingness to use unethical means to win a war.

    Klaus Walz

Klaus Walz

Voiced by: Hiroki Tochi (Japanese), Ray Chase (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vc4_klaus_walz.png

The 31-year old hedonistic leader of Ausbruch, the 502nd heavy tank platoon and an independent gang of the Imperial army. He commands a tank, called the Vulcan, in combat.

  • Ace Custom: The Vulcan, a top of the line imperial tank notable for it's speed.
  • Anti-Villain: Despite being an antagonist, he's shown to have a lot of basic human dignity that's by and large lacking in the rest of X-0. He makes efforts to befriend his allies, shows kindness to Crymaria when no else would, never bears any animosity towards his enemies in Squad E no matter how many times they defeat him. When the war is over, he even treats them amicably and provides some much-needed assistance once Belgar seizes the Centurion.
  • Blood Knight: Thrives in combat, particularly against challenging opponents whom he calls his “soul mates.”
  • Battle Couple: With Crymaria. The two develop feelings for one another over the course of the war, and start working together in their battles against Squad E, often launching pincer attacks on them with Waltz on one side and Crymaria on the other.
  • Befriending the Enemy: The next time he and Crymaria encounter Squad E in Schwartzgrad (after the ceasefire), they meet in good terms, to the point that Walz has no issue with lending his tank to Claude so he can pursue Belgar, who has stolen the Centurion.
  • The Casanova:
    • Is an utterly shameless flirt and when he's not fighting he's likely pursuing another romantic conquest. At least he used to be, until he met Crymaria and he decided to settle down. Then again, pulling this trope on Crymaria is not a good idea...
    • "The Two Valkyria" shows he tried to flirt with Selvaria, but she was all business and she only has eyes for Prince Maximilian.
  • Defusing the Tyke-Bomb: When Crymaria's powers spiral out of control, Walz, who was thought to be taken out along with his tank, appears out of nowhere and embraces her to attempt to calm her down and motivate her to continue living. He succeeds.
  • Expy: He is Radi Jaeger in all but name. Pimped-out tank that has a concealed weak spot? Check. The Only Sane Man of his faction? Check. Comes to respect the protagonist for displaying superior skills? Check. Also a Chivalrous Pervert Anti-Villain? Mhmm.
  • Father to His Men: Is very friendly with and cares deeply about the soldiers under his command. Learning they were in danger of retribution from the higher ups is one of his motivations for agreeing to join Belgar's X-0 unit.
  • Face Death with Dignity: Walz was prepared to pay with his life should he meet his demise at the hands of Squad E. Walz is thought to have gone down along with his tank... but he's shown to be completely fine afterwards when he appears and embraces Crymaria to prevent her powers from spiraling out of control.
  • Heroic Bastard: Son of a nobleman and a maid, he abandoned the father that scorned him for the slums and clawed his way up the ranks on his own merits.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: In the "A Captainless Squad" DLC mission, as the Squad E soldiers escape their clutches, he opts not to pursue them despite having numerical and mechanized superiority, and his own soldiers' eagerness to go after them. After all, they're supposed to be on R&R and he sees no point in tiring themselves out before their next big mission.
  • Lightning Bruiser: His tank Vulcan is not only hard-hitting and durable, but also able to move across long distance in the battlefield at high speed.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: Klaus is this to Crymaria. The former being alive is what provided the reason for the latter to continue living.
  • Military Maverick: Is willing to completely disregard orders from his superiors but is immune from any consequences so long as he gets the job done. Failing to completely wipe out the Federation Forces however is enough to get him relegated to supply duty.
  • Noble Demon: He may be an aggressive and dangerous adversary, but he bears no animosity towards Squad E. Outside of combat, he's cordial and even friendly to his Federation counterparts, and is outraged when he finds out that the Federation is using Child Soldiers.
  • Only Sane Man: Literally: he's the only person in X-0 that isn't evil or carrying massive psychological issues.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: While Walz does find a lot of enjoyment in combat (particularly against worthy opponents), at the end of the day he's still a soldier just doing his expected duty in fighting for his home-nation, and dislikes having to put up with the blatantly evil members of X-0.
  • Reassigned to Antarctica: After he nearly gets killed by the Federate snow-cruisers, Walz is relegated to supply-escort duty. Eventually, he takes up Belgar's offer just to save his subordinates. The reassignment is rescinded once the Imperial Army reads Walz' after-action report on snow-cruiser Cavalier self-destructing. To prevent Centurion from reaching Schwarzgrad, the 502nd heavy tank platoon is restored to full combat status and sent to either capture her or (as Walz prefers) sinking her.
  • Token Good Teammate: He's the only one of X-0 who isn't evil in any way. Even Crymaria is still a bit hard fit considering her massive inferiority complex making her doing questionable actions just for approval.
  • Villainous Friendship: Tries to form one with Forseti, and it's even somewhat successful, getting him to confess his true feelings about his relationship with his sister.
  • Worthy Opponent: Is obsessed with finding ones, dubbing them his "soulmates".

    Crymaria Levin

Crymaria Levin

Voiced by: Yukana (Japanese), Veronica Taylor (English)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vc4_crymaria_levinc.png

The special duty captain of X-0, she is a Valkyria who is dubbed the "Winter Witch".

It should be noted that in the original Japanese version, she is specifically dubbed as 吹雪の魔女 (Fubuki no Majo), or Blizzard Witch. This is actually written in-game, in English. The term Winter Witch would have been translated from 冬の魔女 (Fuyu no Majo).

  • Always Someone Better: She is the most powerful Valkyrur to-date, but felt Selvaria is better than her in all aspects. This is amplified by the DLC scenario, pitting her against Selvaria in a mock battle.
  • Befriending the Enemy: Like Walz, she meets with Squad E on good terms when they next encounter each other in Schwartzgrad, and makes good-natured chit-chat with them.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Klaus, don't look at other women when Crymaria is around.
  • Competitive Balance: When her playable version is unlocked she has many caveats to keep her from breaking the game in half. It costs two points to deploy her, she doesn't carry ragnaid (so she can't heal herself in an emergency), she can't hide in grass, crouch behind sandbags, or capture bases. But she also can't be knocked down by mines or other explosives, is immune to the slow status effect, and her staff's attacks are absurdly powerful with a huge splash radius. As such, she can make for a pretty effective grenadier when used right.
  • Dark Magical Girl: She has power over ice, and has the ability to cast ice spells.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: She gradually warms up to Walz overtime because he's one of the very few individuals who treats her as a person, not a tool of mass destruction.
  • Defusing the Tyke-Bomb: Successfully done by Klaus to Crymaria while she was on a rampage.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: She doesn't take Selvaria's attempts to console her well, angry that it comes from a woman she's jealous of.
  • The Dreaded: She doesn't boast a reputation as the "Winter Witch" for no reason.
  • Foil: To Selvaria in many aspects. Selvaria is a taciturn and cool-headed commander considered The Ace and has mastered her powers as a Valkyrur while Crymaria is an emotionally damaged woman who thinks little of herself and despite being the most powerful Valkyrur in the world has trouble controlling her abilities. Selvaria has the respect of her company while Crymaria is thought of as a freak and because of it suffers from crippling loneliness. Even in love they're different with Selvaria being deeply in love with Maximilian and using it as her drive to fight while Crymaria is a Broken Bird who has all but given up on finding anyone who would love her despite desperately wanting to be loved. Their endings are also different with Selvaria dying by using the Final Flame on Maximilian's orders while Crymaria tries to use it out of despair at losing Klaus, but fights like mad to stop it when she realizes he's alive and gets her happy ending.
    • Even in gameplay as DLC characters they're different with Crymaria being a long-ranged Grenadier who's very slow but outrageously strong while Selvaria is a front line Scout.
  • Exposed to the Elements: She has no problems strutting around in the dead of winter in a slinky dress that leaves a lot of her skin bare.
  • Hates Being Alone: Despite her demeanor, it is revealed that she longs for the company of others and wishes for someone to save her.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: Like Selvaria in the first game, she's basically unbeatable until the final encounter with her. Before then, victory in battles where she appears is achieved by keeping Squad E away from her long enough to achieve the mission objectives (Often by having a tank serve as a decoy so she won't go after the infantry), not by taking her out.
  • An Ice Person: She's a Valkyria who has the ability to manipulate ice and cast ice spells, and enters and leaves battlefields with snowstorms.
  • I Am Not a Gun: Walz is the only person on the Imperial side to not see Crymaria as just a weapon.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: Despite dismissing the idea of finding someone, she desperately wants affection from another after a lifetime of isolation and abuse.
  • It's Personal: She's absolutely horrified when she realizes the Cavalier was powered by a child who, despite knowing she was going to die, begged Crymaria to run from the explosion. She decides then she'll never forgive the Federation or anyone else who takes advantage of other Valkyrur.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: Klaus is also this to Crymaria. The former being alive is what provided the reason for the latter to continue living.
  • Mighty Glacier: As a playable unit she's got low AP due to being classed as a Grenadier, but her staff gives her absurdly powerful explosives that can decimate entrenched enemies and she can just wade through interception fire like they're mosquito bites.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Between her white hair, huge breasts, and revealing outfit, she's a definite source of eyecandy.
  • Most Common Superpower: Has devastating magical powers and a very large bust.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • Done by Crymaria to Angie, allowing the latter to leave peacefully after Angie mentioned about people who genuinely cared for her. Up to that point, Crymaria and other Valkyrur descendants were thought of only as living weapons. Angie's treatment by her comrades was surprising, to say the least.
    • In a literal example, in the DLC chapter "A Captainless Squad", she lets Squad E return to their ship unmolested after learning that they only ran into her unit by chance while looking for their wandering dog - and that Rags had made friends with Fenrir.
  • Power Incontinence: Crymaria's Valkyrur power is unstable and it is hinted that she doesn't have full control of it, which is not helped by her mental state. One notable example of this is after the last battle against her when her staff keeps drawing her power in order to prepare for the Final Flame even though she herself no longer wants to go through it upon finding out that Klaus is alive, to the point she begs for it not to take away Klaus from her.
  • Psychic Link: She's shown to have this power with other Valkyrur, able to hear their thoughts. She uses this to make Angie remember why she was on the Centurion and can hear the last thoughts of the girl powering the Cavalier.
  • Rage Breaking Point:
    • She goes berserk after Walz's downfall at the hands of Squad E, the red blizzard that ensued from her rage overwhelming the entirety of Squad E.
    • "The Two Valkyria" shows she also lost her composure when Selvaria says she's weak and always has been, making Crymaria power up and blast Selvaria with ice.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Like the rest of the Valkyrur, she sports red eyes, which alone are an indication to run for your life if you cross her for any reason.
  • Sexy Slit Dress: Her dress has a slit at the right ride that leaves a part of her leg exposed.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Towers over most of the main cast and is about as tall as Selvaria (who's no slouch in the height department. As for the stunner part, well there's a reason why there are a number of fanservice tropes related to her.
  • The Unchosen One: Crymaria feels that she's always been like this with Selvaria being The Ace and her being considered trash. Her side of the map in "The Two Valkyria" is even the trope name.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: In terms of raw power Crymaria is completely unmatched, Selvaria even admitting she had to go all out just to keep up with Crymaria. However, Crymaria is also plagued by self-loathing, doubt, insecurity, making it difficult at best to use her powers to their full potential.
  • World's Strongest Woman: Crymaria may actually be the strongest Valkyrur in existence, albeit a very unstable one. In-game description states that her powers eclipse all other Valkyrur encountered thus far, even if Crymaria herself does not believe this to be the case. If Selvaria was an One-Woman Army, Crymaria is a One Woman Natural Disaster.

Chiara Rocino

A pair of X-0 enforcers who serve as the bodyguards of Heinrich Belgar.

  • Ax-Crazy: Oh yes. Nikola and Chiara are gleefully sadistic when you first meet them, and don't seem capable of rational thought towards the end of the game.
  • Being Tortured Makes You Evil: Implied. We don't know exactly Belgar did to them, only that they have both been subjected to a series of "calibrations" to enhance their combat abilities. Both girls react to the threat of future "calibrations" with silent dread, and they only become more unstable after going through them again.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Downplayed. "The Two Valkyria" shows them acting smugly to Selvaria, forgetting that she's someone who can casually atomize them until she gives them a reason to back off.
  • Can't Live with Them, Can't Live Without Them: Despite being shown to hate each other, Nikola calls out for Chiara as she is dying and one of her thoughts as she prepared to blow up herself and Belgar is that she will finally be able to meet Chiara again.
  • Co-Dragons: Both of them serve as Belgar's personal bodyguards.
  • Dark Action Girl: Both are X-0 enforcers working in the Empire's military.
  • Exact Words: As part of their "calibrations", they were told by Belgar "failure would not be tolerated". Belgar failed to exclude himself from this order, which comes back to bite him, hard.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Nikola speaks with a very formal and polite tone, but at the same time boasts both a sadistic and malicious personality.
  • Lean and Mean: How else would you describe wafer-thin Ax-Crazy Pintsized Powerhouses?
  • Love Makes You Crazy: Nikola blowing up herself and Belgar isn't due to revenge, it's due to this trope, or the inverse of it: her mind pretty much snapped after her last failure and after hearing Riley wanting to protect loved ones, she kind of applies that to Belgar under twisted reasoning that since they both fail, dying means they won't be anymore, and that she'll be able to meet Chiara again.
  • Mirror Character: Their personnel files say that Nikola looks down on Chiara as a simpleton, and that Chiara is disgusted by Nikola's cold malice. Both files then add "They may be more alike than either one would admit."
  • No Indoor Voice: Chiara has two volume settings: "loud", and "incredibly loud". Really, about 80% of her lines in the game are her screaming at the top of her lungs, even during scenes that don't particularly have anything going on at the moment.
  • Older Than They Look: Nikola is 21, Chiara is 20, but you'd never know it unless you read their personnel files, because they look, sound, and act like kids. They're also short, each being no taller than Angie who's only 12.
  • Rambunctious Italian: Chiara's name suggests that she hailed from the in-universe equivalent of Italy. Her being Hot-Blooded and having a Hair-Trigger Temper makes her fit the bill even further.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: In hat color only. Nikola is the "blue" oni, being much more calm and polite to the point of being Faux Affably Evil, but Chiara is so Hot-Blooded that being within 100 meters of her is physically dangerous. Both are Ax-Crazy, though.
  • Sadist: Nikola gets a kick out of psychologically torturing her victims.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: Nikola always speaks with a calm voice, if seething with malice and sadism, unlike her partner Chiara, who has No Indoor Voice.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Nikola Graf's name is transliterated as "Nicola Gref" in the 10th Anniversary Illustration Book.
  • Stupid Evil:
    • In Chapter 9, against Forseti (and Belgar)'s orders to seize the snow cruisers, they released Crymaria who proceeded to destroy the snow cruisers with her Valkyria power and nearly destroyed the Centurion in her attempt to prove herself.
    • And again in Chapter 10, where they again tried to destroy the Centurion by dropping the parabombs instead of simply killing the Federation soldiers and capture the ship afterwards. Needless to say, this results in their "recalibration" when they fail in that regard too.
  • Super-Soldier: Both girls have been conditioned thanks to their time in X-0.
  • Taking You with Me:
    • Chiara pushes a trigger and blows herself up per Belgar's orders after she fails to stop Squad E from entering Schwartzgrad, badly crippling the Hafen and thus Claude leaves Miles to conduct major repairs while the former pursues Forseti on the Centurion.
    • A fatally wounded Nikola also blows herself up with the same self-destruct trigger Chiara used, taking not only herself out, but also Belgar and the Lophius.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: The two don't like each other much. The recruitable versions from the DLC drive it home: not only do they not have any affinity, they each have a potential that lowers their stats when they're around the other.
  • Unusable Enemy Equipment: Their Dunkel crossbows cannot be looted from them even if the player manages to defeat them in combat. Only by purchasing and completing the Two Valkyria DLC will these become usable, and even then their Schatten grenades cannot be equipped by anyone else.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness:
    • Because Chiara failed to stop Squad E from entering Schwartzgrad, Belgar orders her to blow herself up.
    • Nikola shares a similar fate... but since she realizes Belgar failed too, she decides to take him down with her. Not out of revenge, however: see Love Makes You Crazy.
