2. Characters.Pokemon Adventures Kanto: In FireRed and LeafGreen as compared to Red and Blue and Yellow. Though she could still pass for a boy, and she's still shorter than Silver (and probably everyone else, minus Emerald).

   • Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III in How to Train Your Dragon starts off as a weedy, Socially Awkward Hero teenager struggling to catch up with his peers in terms of everything, but his personality, moments with Toothless and his woobie moments have been read as endearing to many fans, leading to him being paired off with nearly every character in the film in the fandom (and quite a few not in the film). Cut to five years later in How to Train Your Dragon 2 and puberty had hit him like a truck, making him genuinely handsome for the audience, paving the way for slash-fics (well, a greater amount of slash-fics anyway) and Fan Art ever since his reveal in the film's first trailers.

   • In Dragon Ball, Chi-Chi and Goku first meet as children, and Goku promises to marry her, thinking marriage is a kind of food. He says so when an angry and all grown-up Chi-Chi brings it up in the Tenkaichi Budokai; Chi-Chi is saddened upon realising that she had been sort-of waiting in vain... but Goku then adds that he doesn't want her to be sad and that he takes his promises seriously, so he officially asks her to marry him right there.
   • In the anime version of Inuyasha, Koga lightheartedly promises to marry wolf-girl (and granddaughter of a very powerful wolf youkai whom he quite respects) Ayame, then still a young child, after he saves her from being killed. She reappears all grown-up and demands he fulfill his promise, but he's already in a Love Triangle with Kagome and Inu Yasha. Even worse, the poor guy doesn't remember a thing about it, and Ayame not only is hurt and angry as Hell with quite the reason, but Kagome is pissed at him too because she supports Ayame's bid for Koga's affections. (Though it's hinted that Koga fakes not remembering, since he doesn't want Ayame to become Naraku's target) By the end of the series, Koga finally fulfills his promise to Ayame, and they're Happily Married.
   • At the start of The Robe, Marcellus encounters a beautiful woman called Diana who says he promised to marry her. Being a philanderer, he asks if he was drunk at the time. Turns out Diana is a childhood friend and she's referring to this trope. Even though she's been promised to the future emperor Caligula, Diana would prefer to keep her oath to Marcellus instead.
   • In the episode Jack in the Box of Jonathan Creek, the character of Jack Holiday proposed to his child co-star (implied to be as a joke), but then on returning after ten years, met her again as an adult and married her. He then hires a man to kill her.

    • Cordelia von Feuerbach (Cory): Subverted. Unlike Rorona and Iksel, despite being much older, she hasn't grown at all. In fact, 13-year old Totori is taller than her!
    • Lionela Heinze (Liona): She's matured significantly as an adult by the time of her reappearance in Atelier Lulua.

19. Main.I Got Bigger: An even more dramatic case from the same franchise is Waver Velvet. At nineteen, he was so short that his Servant suggested that he ought to wish on the Holy Grail to make himself a foot taller. Turns out he was able to manage it entirely on his own several years after Fate/Zero, much to the shock of anyone who's seen him in both stages of life.

2. Characters.Danganronpa Makoto Naegi: He's...grown quite drastically.
3. Characters.I Carly: Remember when Nathan was short, skinny, scrawny and looked like an 11-year-old boy with a high-pitched voice? Where it looked like in "iPilot" Freddie was a few years younger and shorter than Carly (Kress is actually about six months older than Miranda Cosgrove in real life)? Yeah, those days are incredibly over.
4. Main.Age Inappropriate Dress: Speaking of manaketes, an Older and Wiser Tiki from Shadow Dragon and Mystery of Emblem appears about midway through Awakening, and it's clear that the two millennia between games have been very good to her. In the Harvest Scramble DLC map, a conversation between Tiki and Lucina has the latter try to get Tiki into the spirit of the festivities by dressing Tiki up in a replica of the clothes she wore as a child. The end results aren't shown on-screen, but Tiki is nothing short of mortified at how ill-fitting her old garments are on her adult body.

1. Main.Hidden Buxom: Although there is nothing canonical to indicate that she is actually embarrassed by it, Hinata Hyuga hid her assets under a baggy jacket Pre-Time Skip. This could actually be said to be symbolic of her hiding herself from others, especially her crush Naruto. Her clothing in Shippuden better displays her growth. More accurately, after the Time Skip her breasts have grown so large that even her loose-fitting coats can't hide them very well. Additionally Played for Laughs in the "Road to Ninja" manga special, in which she attempts to cover her bust until Sakura assures her that there's no need to be self-conscious. Cue Sakura getting very, very jealous. I italicized a portion that contains some overlap between She Is All Grown Up and Hidden Buxom, meaning it could be either or, or maybe both.
2. Main.Plot Relevant Age Up: A very dangerous murder spell works like this. Leez is afflicted with it, and twelve hours after it is first cast, suddenly finds herself waking up after a nap, having gone from a sixteen year old Butter Face gonk to a beautiful young woman in her early-twenties. She loves her new form, and has no idea why the spell is a bad thing...until she's told that she'll die in twelve hours. The age-up is the cause of this, not a side effect. Every mortal has a set time when they will die (though they can die sooner due to accidents and so on). The spell brings your body to twelve hours before that appointed time. Though the effect can be reversed (and is, in Leez's case), it doesn't change their appointed time of death. This is misuse, as the character herself is acknowledging her new beauty instead of another character.
3. Characters.Ar Tonelico Melody Of Elemia: Once she regains her normal form, the game doesn't hesitate to note how beautiful she is. I think this implies her beauty gets acknowledged by someone In-Universe (probably Lyner) but as written there's not enough context for people who are unfamiliar with this game (such as yours truly) to know for sure.
