Blinky's Gang
Tropes applying to Blinky's Gang as a whole:
- Alliterative Name: Blinky Bill and Marcia (Marsupial) Mouse.
- Deadpan Snarker: ALL of them can be this, with Blinky and Marcia being the worst offenders.
- Vague Age: The members of the gang are implied to be aged anywhere from 7 to 11, although according to a PC game, while they act like the aforementioned age range, they are actually aged around 5 to 6.
Blinky Bill:
Voiced by: Robyn Moore
The series' protagonist. A young koala who often gets up to mischief, and is the leader of his gang of friends.
- Cool Big Bro: He becomes this towards Nutsy at the end of the episode "Blinky Bill's Wedding Picnic" when Blinky's mother marries Nutsy's father.
- Catchphrase: "Extraordinary!"
- He has an additional one in the third season: “Careful is my middle name."
- His doppelgänger, Algenon Arkwright, has "Incredible!"
- Disappeared Dad: It's implied that Blinky's father died of an unspecified illness.
- Embarrassing Middle Name: Doubling down on the alliteration, his full name is Blinky Bartholomew Bill.
- Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: He's the Foolish Sibling to Nutsy's Responsible Sibling.
- Guile Hero: He has a knack for outsmarting his enemies to save the day, whether it be Danny Dingo (before his Heel–Face Turn) or the Circus Bros.
- Humans Are Bastards: He has this attitude towards them for most of Season 3 thanks to the Circus Bros. abusing their animals. He gradually grows out of this mindset by the finale, however.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Blinky is mischievous, cocky, and even bratty at his worst, but cares deeply for his friends, family, and neighbors in Greenpatch and is usually the first to take initiative to solve problems or act in defense of any innocent animals in trouble.
- Kick the Dog: He actually gets more than one of these in "Blinky Bill's Wedding Picnic". After Marcia bites Shifty, Blinky tricks her into thinking she gave him blood poisoning and later, when Marcia believes that she actually has caused those things to happen to Shifty, Blinky rubs it in by saying that Danny will come after her for it.
- Kids Driving Cars: In the pilot film, he can be seen driving Harry and Joe's truck after successfully rescuing his mother and Nutsy.
- Ungrateful Bastard: In "Blinky Bill and the Balloon", Miss Magpie and a cockatoo rescue Blinky and the gang from a balloon hanging over a cliff, resulting in even Marcia giving their teacher a hug. Blinky, however, teases her about her missing tail feathers, which she had plucked out herself so the rest of the town could follow her.
- Not Blood Siblings: As of "Blinky Bill's Wedding Picnic", Blinky and Nutsy are stepbrother and stepsister, leaving the floodgates open for shipping.
Nutsy Koala:
Voiced by: Robyn Moore
A female koala with a kind heart, and the most sensible member of Blinky's gang, who by the end of season 1 becomes Blinky's step-sister.- Break the Cutie: The Mother's Day episode, her birthday episode (where she believes they've forgotten), and the lost puppy episode.
- Character Development: She becomes much more mature in Season 3 than she was in the previous seasons.
- Disappeared Dad: He went missing at some point, but they're thankfully reunited in the penultimate episode of Season 1.
- The Drag-Along: The third season has her joining Blinky and Flap just so she can keep an eye on them and set them straight if they were to ever screw up.
- Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: She is the Responsible Sibling to Blinky's Foolish Sibling.
- Missing Mom: Her mother is never seen. In "Blinky Bill's Mothers Day", it is revealed that Nutsy's mother died when the humans destroyed their town.
- Nice Girl: While occasionally a dour situation would put her in a bad enough mood to hold a rare Jerkass Ball and sometimes she's not above allowing herself a laugh at Blinky's mischief, Nutsy is otherwise the most consistently kind, empathetic, and polite member of Blinky's gang.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: She's the blue to both Blinky and Marcia’s red.
- She Cleans Up Nicely: In the episode "Leo Leads the Way", Penelope gives her a makeover after she accidentally falls into some elephant dung, making her look more like a princess. The others compliment her good looks, while Blinky is quick to make fun of her (likely due to her wearing makeup).
- Team Mom: She's the most kind and caring member of Blinky's gang.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: In the first two seasons she's the girly girl to Marcia. The third season has her as the tomboy to Penelope and girly girl to Ling-Ling.
Flap Platypus:
Voiced by: Keith Scott
A platypus, and one of Blinky's best friends, known for his intellect and large appetite.- Butt-Monkey: He becomes one in spades during season 3, especially after he falls out of the balloon and plummets headfirst into China at the beginning of "Operation Free Flap".
- Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: He is nowhere to be found in the 2015 film and its follow-up TV series.
- Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal: He's only seen wearing yellow pants.
- I Am Not Weasel: He hates being called a duck.
- Vitriolic Best Friends: With Marcia.
Splodge Kangaroo:
Voiced by: Keith Scott
A youthful, boisterous kangaroo, and the strongest member of Blinky's gang.- Anthropomorphic Zig-Zag: While hopping is their preferred walk cycle, he and his family can also walk and run bipedally.
- Boisterous Bruiser: He gets into a fight with Blinky and Flap in "Blinky and the Film Star" after they're seduced by Daisy.
- Cloud Cuckoolander: He has shades of this.
- Kangaroos Represent Australia: Of course.
- Put on a Bus: Inverted in season 3 - Splodge, Marcia and Shifty stay behind while Blinky, Nutsy and Flap travel the world.
Marcia (Marsupial) Mouse:
Voiced by: Robyn Moore
A bossy, hotblooded marsupial mouse who considers herself to be tough, with a tendency to rush into situations before thinking them through.- Bratty Half-Pint: Mostly in the first two seasons. She gets better during Season 3, however.
- Compressed Vice: The second season finale has her gain a fear of heights. Of course, given her behavior throughout the season, she had the humiliation coming.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's hotheaded and tends to be abrasive towards her friends at times (mostly Flap and Splodge), but in the end, she's genuinely loyal to Blinky and his gang.
- Little Miss Snarker: Absolutely, she's the snarkiest character in a show that's already set in a World of Snark.
- My God, What Have I Done?: She has this when she believes she's poisoned Shifty after biting his leg in "Blinky Bill's Wedding Picnic".
- Pet the Dog: She had her moments, one of the most notable being when she softened up after she was placed in charge of a baby mouse, and ended up freaking out when the baby crawled off.
- Put on a Bus: Inverted in season 3 - Splodge, Marcia and Shifty stay behind in Greenpatch while Blinky, Nutsy and Flap travel the world.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: She's the red to Nutsy's blue.
- The Runaway: In "Blinky Bill Finds Marcia Mouse", Marcia starts feeling neglected and ignored. To get attention, she misbehaves, developing a bad rebel personality. When this backfires and she is sent to her room, she runs away. Apart from Nutsy and Blinky, no one even notices she's missing until the end.
- Took a Level in Jerkass: She has a big Kick the Dog moment when she bites Shifty in "Blinky Bill's Wedding Picnic".
- Took a Level in Kindness: Or moreso "lost a level in jerkass" in season 3, where she is noticeably less abrasive towards her friends than she was in the previous seasons, especially Shifty.
- Vitriolic Best Friends: With Flap. She's often annoyed by him, but will still defend him if need be.
- Your Size May Vary: In the intro, she appears a head shorter than Flap. In the series itself, she can barely peek over Splodge's head while on his shoulders.
The Dingo Family
Tropes applying to the Dingo Family as a whole:
- Alliterative Name: Played straight with Danny and Daisy, and averted with Meatball, Shifty and Ma.
- Band of Relatives: They're a Type 2, as shown in "How Green is My Greenpatch"◊, with Daisy on lead vocals, Danny on bass, Shifty on guitar and Meatball on drums.
- Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Like many original characters from the 90s show, none of them appear in the rebooted CGI series.
- Demoted to Extra: Danny, Meatball, Daisy and Ma don't appear as much from Season 2 onwards, even without considering that season's Story Arc.
- Disappeared Dad: We never see the family's father.
- Heel–Face Turn: All of them undergo this at the end of season 1, although it could be argued that Daisy and Shifty were good from the beginning.
- Vague Age: Danny, Daisy and Meatball are all subtly implied to be aged around from 16 to 18, while Shifty, like Blinky's gang, is anywhere from 7 to 11, and Ma is apparently somewhere in her 30s.
Danny Dingo:
Voiced by: Keith Scott
A suave, smug dingo teen, almost always seen with his sunglasses on, who's usually thinking of ways to scam the townspeople. Despite this, he's got a heart of gold.- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: He wears sunglasses and nothing else. According to Danny in this quote from "Blinky Saves Granny's Glasses"...Daisy: Danny, why don't you buy me some new clothes?Danny: Because anything more than sunglasses is overdressed.
- Big Bad: He could count as this for season 1, but this notion is downplayed to a considerable amount, as while he does try to scam the townspeople on multiple occasions, he's not necessarily evil, and genuinely cares about them at times.
- Kick the Dog: In "Blinky Bill and 'Club Pet'", he almost got the Greenpatchers fed to a gang of feral cats (probably in an attempt to gain power among the survivors). If he wasn't so easily forgiven (or if someone was actually eaten), this could've been considered his Moral Event Horizon.
- Pet the Dog: In "Blinky and the Red Car", when he managed to buy Mr. Possum's car before Blinky could, he took pity on Blinky and gave him his skateboard.
- Sunglasses at Night: He's almost never seen without his sunglasses on, although we do see his actual eyes frequently.
- Those Two Guys: Rarely did his schemes during season 1 not involve Meatball doing the heavy lifting.
- Unsettling Gender-Reveal: This happens in "Blinky And The Film Star", when Blinky dresses as a woman and actually manages to seduce him, leaving him shocked when he finds out the truth.
Daisy Dingo:
Voiced by: Robyn Moore (Seasons 1 and 2), Sarah Aubrey (Season 3)
A vain, flirtatious teenage dingo with aspirations of fame, who tends to use her good looks and seductive charm to get her way.- Ass Kicks You: In "Blinky Bill's Fund Run" while Blinky and the gang are at Mr. Gloop's cafe, the Dingos all forcefully take seats at Blinky's table, Daisy does his to Marcia.
- Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: Daisy is very feminine and fashionable, usually seen doing her nails (claws?), and has dreams of becoming an actress/singer. Despite this, she puts in quite the effort during the charity race in "Blinky Bill's Fund Run", even though she ends up careening down a hill and crashing into other runners thanks to her waistband getting caught on a tree branch, flinging her backwards.
- Hartman Hips: She has a notably plump rear end, something that the animation studio (being Geoff Beak Productions) probably knew while animating this scene from "Blinky Bill's Treasure Hunt"◊.
- Head-and-Hip Pose: She does one in "Blinky And The Film Star"◊, when flirting with Blinky, Flap and Splodge.
- Head-Turning Beauty: And how! In particular, Flap, Splodge and later Blinky develop crushes on her during "Blinky and the Film Star", however, they snap out of it when Nutsy and Marcia tell them that she's part of Danny's plan to rob the bank.
- Hidden Depths: "Blinky and the Film Star" in particular has her showing off her acting prowess, resulting in a stunning Mae West impersonation. She's also seen to be the lead singer of a band with her brothers in "How Green is My Greenpatch".
- High-Heel–Face Turn: She's considered by fans to be the first of the Dingo family to redeem themselves.
- Ms. Fanservice: ABSOLUTELY.
- The One Who Wears Shoes: A pair of light blue heels.
- True Blue Femininity: The clothes in her standard outfit (a knotted top, jeans and high heels) are all coloured in different shades of blue (although they eventually gained a teal tint due to season 3's slight Art Evolution).
Meatball Dingo:
Voiced by: Keith Scott
A rather fat dingo, and Danny's younger brother; what he lacks in terms of intellect he makes up for in strength.- Real Men Wear Pink: It's revealed that he takes ballet lessons in "Blinky Bill's Blue Mystery".
Shifty Dingo:
Voiced by: Keith Scott
A kindhearted, sensitive dingo, and the youngest member of the family, who became a member of Blinky's gang at the end of season 1. Despite his well-meaning nature, he's a popular target for insults from his family and friends, especially from Marcia.- Accessory-Wearing Cartoon Animal: Occasionally during the first season, he wears a red cap.
- Ambiguously Gay: He has shades of this, as he's Prone to Tears, tends to do a Girly Run, and helps Daisy out at her beauty salon in "Blinky Bill and the Mystery Pollution".
- Butt-Monkey: He's constantly harassed by Marcia throughout season 2.
- Girly Run: In "Blinky Bill's Mother's Day", complete with him holding a daffodil.
- Nice Guy: Even during his time as a semi-antagonist during most of Season 1, he's still very kind-hearted.
- Precious Puppy: For all the flack he gets, you'd wanna give him a hug.
- Prone to Tears: He probably cries more than any other character on the show.
- Put on a Bus: Inverted in season 3 - Splodge, Marcia and Shifty stay behind while Blinky, Nutsy and Flap travel the world.
- The Sixth Ranger: He became a member of Blinky's gang at the end of season 1.

- Big Eater: Lampshaded by Flap in one episode.Flap: And I thought I had an appetite!
- Mama Bear: She's quick to shut the Mayor up when he doubts finding Blinky's gang in "Blinky Bill and the Balloon".
The Adults
Mr. Walter "Wombo" Wombat:
Voiced by: Keith Scott
Blinky's mentor, who hates being called "Wombo"; most of the town does it anyway.- The Mentor: He acts as this to Blinky and his gang.
Mrs. Koala
Voiced by: Robyn Moore
Blinky's widowed mother, who's quick to discipline her son whenever he gets into trouble.- Almighty Mom: She is always quick to discipline Blinky and whatever she says goes.
- Missing Mom: Temporarily in the movie - she wasn't among the evacuated villagers because she refused to leave her home. Blinky's goal in the movie was to find her, until midway when Nutsy took priority. In the end she turns out to be alive amongst the trees, and they finally reunite.
- Unnamed Parent: We don't know her first name.
Miss Magpie:
Voiced by: Robyn Moore
Blinky's teacher, who tends to struggle in teaching her usually-rowdy class.- Badass Teacher: To the point where she flew out into a storm while plucking her own feathers out for others to follow her.
- Butt-Monkey: Blinky is quick to make fun of her missing tail feathers even after she saved their lives as a result of the above entry.
- Everyone Has Standards: In the episode "Blinky Bill's Zoo", when Flap suggests that the Greenpatchers build a zoo to keep humans in like the humans do with animals, she shoots it down, justifying that they'd be no better than the humans.
- Informed Species: She doesn't look anything like a magpie; she has blue feathers and a yellow beak and feet white real magpies are entirely black and white.
- It's All My Fault: Said word for word at the end of "Blinky Bill and the Earthquake".
Mayor Pelican:
Voiced by: Keith Scott
The scatterbrained mayor of Greenpatch and one of Blinky's favourite prank targets, who usually puts himself before others, much to the town's chagrin.- Butt-Monkey: As stated above, Blinky loves pulling pranks on him.
- Mayor Pain: His incompetence and narcissism cause plenty of annoyance for the people of Greenpatch.
- Let's See YOU Do Better!: For all his flaws, nobody else wants his job.
The Circus Bros.
Basil and Cyril Circus, the villains of the third season who chased Blinky around the world due to him setting their captive circus animals free.
Basil Circus:
Voiced by: Keith Scott
The main villain of season 3, who'll stop at nothing to keep his travelling circus in business, even if it means abusing his animals.- Arc Villain: He's the main villain of season 3.
- Catchphrase: "This is all your fault, Cyril!" It's his last line in every episode, said upon his defeat.
- Fat and Skinny: He's the fat one.
- Jerkass: If he treated the animals in his circus better, the events of Season 3 may never have happened.
- Laser-Guided Karma: His actions throughout the entirety of the season lead to him getting arrested in the season finale.
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: Keith Scott ends making him sound like Hans Conried at times.
- Villainous Breakdown: He gets carted away in a straitjacket in the Season 3 finale.
- Would Hurt a Child: His motivation throughout the entirety of Season 3 is to catch Blinky so he can put him in his travelling circus where he would be subjected to the same abuse as the other animals. In particular, the episode "Crouching Dragon, Hidden Koala" has him leaving Blinky's friends (except Tico) caged and locked (except Ling-Ling, who was chained up) in a shed full of explosives!
Cyril Circus
Voiced by: Drew Forsythe
Basil's younger brother and bumbling sidekick, who eventually grows smarter as the season progresses.- Character Development: He becomes more independent as the season continues and ditches his brother in the finale to join the fire brigade.
- Fat and Skinny: He's the skinny one to Basil's fat one.

- Lethally Stupid: In the episode "Crouching Dragon, Hidden Koala", when he and Cyril are locked in a shed full of firecrackers, he lights a match, causing the entire shed to explode. They both survive (considering this is a cartoon).

Misc.
Ruff Frill-Necked Lizard:
Voiced by: Keith Scott
A frill-necked lizard and Blinky's classmate, who considers himself to be a ladies' man, but is really a bit of a coward.- Demoted to Extra: Quite quickly. He's mentioned in the theme song for the first two seasons and is prominent in episode 1, but is quickly shoved into the background thereafter.

Voiced by: Keith Scott
A loudmouthed kookaburra with a dry sense of humour. Known for pranking the residents of Greenpatch, perhaps even more so than Blinky.- Demoted to Extra: He has a big, dramatic scene in the movie where he flies Marcia to the woodchip mill.
