Fiery Discourse is a weekly podcast discussing and recapping media features either dragonesses, female dinosaurs or other similar saurians and scalies, no matter how large or small their part is in it. Each episode follows a typical format:

  • Introducing the episode's hosts and the media piece to be discussed
  • A quick rundown behind the backstory of the media piece.
  • A recap of the media piece watched.
  • A "question of the episode" where the hosts are asked a question tangibly related to the episode.
  • The patent pending "Dragoness Scale", where the hosts rank the character they discuss on a scale from one to ten.
  • Ludmillanon revealing the next episode.

Like many shows, they have had holiday specials where they discuss a media piece both related to the holiday and that fits the criteria for an episode (for example, a Thanksgiving episode about We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story.

New episodes are released on every Sunday. The show can be accessed on aCast, Spreaker or Spotify and their Youtube page can be accessed here.

Aside from also discussing a wide variety of Dragon Tropes, this podcast provides examples of:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Several examples:
    • The English dub of Ilya Muromets doesn't give a name to traitor Mishatychka, causing the hosts to refer to him as "Soviet Jafar" due to his resemblance to the Disney villain.

    • The Biker Mice from Mars episode calls Greasepit “Human Rocksteady”, Karbunkle as “Dr. Cryptkeeper” and Fred as “Frogboy Freddy”.
  • Blooper: The Lost in Space episode has video game audio audible in the background for a brief moment, due to an error in the recording software used.
  • Call-Back: Several of them:
    • The Super Mario Bros 3 episode remarks that the poor quality animation is almost as bad as Bamboo Bears.
    • The titular Happy Ness in the Happy Ness episode is compared to a combination of "Princess Celestia and Serendipity" and Serendipity is brought up several more times.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: The first three episodes had poor quality audio and sound actually cutting out due to internet issues as well a much more rushed pace. Later episodes would fix the audio issues as well as be a lot more detailed and longer.
  • Every Episode Ending: Every episode ends with Ludmillanon saying "If you have any questions or (random activity related to that episode's topic), feel free to email us or visit us on Twitter", then giving the topic for next week's episode.
  • Formula-Breaking Episode: The seventh episode is the only one to discuss two media pieces: the animated shorts Reversal of the Heart and Dragon in Distress. A large amount of the episode is focused on comparing and contrasting them.
  • Kaiju: Several of them are discussed, as befitting the nature of the show.
  • On a Scale from One to Ten: The Dragoness Scale, where the character of the episode is ranked on a scale from one to ten, with one being the worst and ten being the best.
  • Once an Episode: The aforementioned Dragoness Scale.
  • Negated Momentof Awesome: Adam West reprises his role as Batman in the Superfriends episode and gets transformed into a dinosoid but he doesn't speak during the entire portion he's transformed, much to the dismay of the hosts.
  • People in Rubber Suits: Aside from the kaiju movies, the Lost in Space episode depicts Gundemar using one of these, with the hosts mentioning how poor this particular example is.
  • Running Gag:
    • There is at least one SpongeBob reference in every single episode.
    • Mario, Kirby, Pokèmon and LOTR references are also very common.
  • Scaled Up: A wide majority of the dragonesses discussed on the podcast perform this trope, with the hosts preferring longer and more detailed transformations over shorter ones.
  • So Bad, It's Good: Several of the movies discussed classify as this, with Freddie as F.R.0.7. actually being recommended on this basis.
  • Special Effect Failure: The episode on Bamboo Bears points out the numerous animation flaws with the cartoon, culminating in a sequence where half the background wasn't finished.
    • Several other animation errors are pointed out in the episodes on DiC cartoons, including many moments where characters are speaking but their mouths aren't moving.
  • Stock Ness Monster: Several versions of the Loch Ness Monster have been discussed on the show.
  • Take That!:
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Many of the characters discussed are considered to be underused by the hosts.
  • Took the Bad Film Seriously: Despite being a completely ridiculous episode in an already somewhat silly series, the hosts show admiration for June Foray's guest appearance as the voice of Gundemar on the Lost in Space episode The Questing Beast, noting that she actually manages to bring dignity and character to what is a very badly designed costume. This is later touched upon in the Gummi Bears episode as they note how similar Gundemar is to the dragoness in that episode.
  • Trade Snark: The Dragoness Scale is always said to be "patent pending".
