In Tomboy and Girly Girl in the video game entry for Mass Effect there should be included how you yourself can be a tomboy to Liara's girly girl as Commander Shepard who can headbutt Krogans and hold her alcohol.

Hello. I am Kingofsouls, a humble human whom hails from a land of the real and whom seems to have minor problems the language of my land. My language is English, and it seems to be that I have problems with the tounge I have been speaking since birth.

I assure you, my grammar is perfectly fine. It is simply a matter of how fast my fingers fly across the fickle keys.

How do I appease the grammar gods that I seemingly have offended?

In any case, I think I have to put any entries I want to put on a page. Well here are some for Ashes of the Past

Ash

Pidgeot

Primeape

  • Bare-Fisted Monk: His fighting style focuses on high powered Aura boosted attacks.
  • Out of Focus: His last major battles were against Chuck and the battle for Altomare.

Goldeen/ Seaking

  • Out of Focus: Doesn't see much screentime compared to Misty's other Pokemon.

Delia Ketchum

@Starkitty93 The spoiler tag doesn't work right if you capitalize Spoiler.

(this is a work in progress. I made the page a while back then well...I put it on the back burner.)

Fusion Of Destinies is a Metroid and Harry Potter crossover written by Gray-X, author of Attack Of The 100 Foot Meg Griffin. In it a mysterious woman is found on the grounds of Hogwarts an is taken in by Dumbledoor once she wakes up (with no memeory). But as Harry's fifth year occurs mysterious events behind the scenes reveal a grave threat from beyond the Earth's stars.

The sequel, Day Of Reckoning, takes place just before 'Deathly Hollows' reveals a new threat whom wishes to destroy the Muggle and Wizarding worlds and rebuild them from the ruins of the old.

    open/close all folders

     Fusion Of Destines

  • Batman Gambit: Surprisingly Voldemort. He uses the time spell to get the remaining X Parasites, knowing that once the X are revealed no one would think he did it because he isn't known for using anything Muggle related.
  • Bag of Spilling: As per Metroid tradition Samus loses all the weapons she obtains on the B.S.L
  • Call-Back: In order to save Harry's life from X Parasite infestation, Samus has his DNA injected with her DNA, which contains Metroid DNA.
  • Red Herring. Voldemort seems to be the villain responsible for bringing the X back in time, but Snape denies this, saying that Voldemort would have told him the plan if he was going to do it. The plot also seems to go against Voldemort's MO as Voldemort would not use any weapon of Muggle or extraterrestrial origins. Subverted as Voldemort really is the one responsible.
  • Scaled Up: Played With Samus' Dragon Scale Armor. While Samus does not actually turn into a dragon the armor has a dragon motif and provides the protection of a dragon's hide, so in a sense it does count.
  • Shout-Out: So many it needs it own page. See below.
  • Socially Awkward Hero: Samus, considering her upbringing, often has a hard time connecting with other humans and their social norms. Case in point, Ron's Uranus jokes go over her head.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: The HP-X, a X Parasite clone of a person bearing Metroid DNA who's main role is to harass the heroes and slow them down, much like the SA-X.
  • Toilet Humour: In response to a Uranus joke Samus recounts a funny story from her youth: her first menstrual cycle. Harry, Ron, and Herminone are naturally squicked out about this.
  • Time Travel: There is an spell that is capable of viewing, and taking anything from the future. The catch is that the spell also brings back the best way to counter whatever was brought back.

Fusion Of Destinies 2: Day Of Reckoning

  • Badass Normal: JB Granger. He has no magical or otherwise supernatural powers yet he points a gun to Voldemort's face, and successfully threatens him into giving Harry and Samus vital information regarding Valencia.
  • Berserk Button: Bellatrix calls Adam a rickety plane. Adam gets pissed quite quickly, but defers to Samus instead of taking care of things on his own since the group was in a urban area full of potential collateral damage.
  • Call-Back: When Harry takes Samus to The Burrow, Moody doesn't believe Samus is really Samus and wants her to identify herself. Ron then asks her when and where her first menstrual cycle (something only Samus, and unfortunately Harry, Ron, and Hermionie would know).
  • Dual Wielding: Due to a emergency operation on his brain Faction's brain was escentally split in two. Because of this each half of his brain acts independently and allows him to use two wands at once.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Moaning Myrtle. When Valerie offered her a job and the chance to get back at Voldermort for killing her, she jumps at the chance. What once was a meek girl became a terrifying electric specialist whom gives Samus and company a run for their money during their battle against her.
  • Enemy Mine: Voldemort and the Death Eaters (begrudgingly) agree to work with Harry and Samus in order to defeat Valerie.
  • Enemy Within: The SA-X is inside Samus, and taunts her on occasion.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: Petunia goes from a simple Muggle housewife jealous of her magic using sister to one of Valenica's most trusted commanders once she is infused with magic. She becomes capable of fighting Samus, Harry, Ron, Herminonie, and Voldemort on her own.
  • Magi Tech: Valencia's technology is a mix of both Muggle tech and Magic, making her very dangerous.
  • Poisonous Person: Valencia is corrupted by Phazon, and thus is capable of generating enough to use as a power source for her mechanical arm.
  • Powered Armor: Harry, Harmionie, and Ron each get a set when they join Samus on the hunt for the Chozo superweapon. The armor also becomes Color-Coded for Your Convenience with an Animal Motif when combined with a part of the superweapon.
  • Ridiculously Human Robot: The Founders of Hogwarts serve as gaurdians of the superweapon. After Kor-Zor was defeated the Founders created artifial copies of themselves to serve as the final boss of each dungeon.
  • Samurai: Godric Gryffindor's copy acts like a samruai and fights like one during his battle against Samus and Harry.
  • Unholy Matrimony: Valencia and Snape were close back in their Hoqwarts days. Years later, Valencia convinces Snape, whom at this point has a very bad reputation to everyone except Dumbledoor,to marry her.

     Shout Outs (UNMARKED SPOILERS)

Fusion of Destinies

  • The way Harry steps into the final battle against Voldemort mirrors the ending to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
  • The B.S.L being the same as when Samus first ventured there, but with a different layout mirrors the second quest from The Legend Of Zelda.
  • Some of Voldermort's lines mirror that of Metal Gear villains.
  • When McGonagall balks at how Samus intended to take on the X alone, Samus replies, "It won't be the first time."
  • Chapter 22 is called 'Way To Fall', which is the ending theme of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
  • The way Samus declares to Adam "We're going in," and points at Voldemort's station was a nod to Avery Johnson's declaration in Halo2.
  • Samus gaining a whip is a big jab at Franshise/Castlevania and how Castlevania sequels tend to be Metroidvania games.
  • The combo Samus busted out on Voldemort was lifted from Castlevania: Lament of Innocence.
  • Chapter 6 is called 'Bloody Tears', which is the name of a track first introduced in Castlevania II: Simon's Quest.
  • Samus's Screw Roll is similar to Sonic's Spin Attack.
  • The chapter 'The Final Rush' was the name of the last Hero level in Sonic Adventure 2. In the chapter Harry fights the HP-X, mirroring the battle against Sonic and Shadow that takes place after the mentioned Hero Level.
  • Strange monsters start appearing in the school, which we find out are breeding deep underneath school grounds? Remind anyone else of the beginning of Phantasy Star IV?
  • The beginning of this whole time travel mess is marked by a strange object falling from the sky...kinda makes you recall Chrono Trigger, don't it?
  • The floating platforms that Voldemort conjures up, which are actually traps that shoot out deadly attacks, was blatantly ripped from the final fight with Sigma in the first Mega Man X.
  • The sheer number of pointless references must remind some of you of Conker's Bad Fur Day
  • 'Invasion From Within' is the name of a song done by a Japanese band called Tsunami Bomb, which was used in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness.
  • The end of the duel between Harry and the SA-X mirrored the final battle Sailor Moon's first season.
  • Where No Wizard Has Gone Before
  • I'm sure some of you must've been reminded of the Terminator movies when the HP-X first appeared, having freed himself from that jar.
  • Harry and Samus both utter [[Franchise/Predator 'You are one UGLY motherf...']]
  • When Samus said 'Stay away from him you heartless BITCH!' was a variation of when Ripley yelled 'Get away from her you BITCH!'
  • The gruesome death of Samus's mother in the flashback was a nod to Bishop's death, also from Aliens.

I don't have time to go through the whole thing right now but some of those need to be expanded like Evil Twin: The HP-X is this to Harry. You would say, "He wishes to destroy the Muggle and Wizarding worlds" so it's "who wishes to destroy the Muggle and Wizarding worlds..." When in doubt just use 'who'.

I need to re-read the fic in full to refresh my memory, but from what I remember the HP-X doesn't really do much besides be evil. He didn't have much of a personality.

How does he "be evil"? How is he Harry's twin? Like they're literally brothers born the same day? Also there's "Berserk Button: Adam doesn't like being called a rickety plane." How does he go berserk? When is it triggered? "JB Granger full stop," is Word Cruft. Drop the 'full stop'. Badass Normal and Empowered Badass Normal need to include "He doesn't have powers, but can keep up with those who do." Neither of them indicate that. "Valencia and Snape get married," doesn't say how they're unholy or working together.

Do you see what I'm saying?

Yea I do. Hmm....let me see. For Adams case he actually is a plane thus being called a rickety one would piss him off (although he defer to Samus instead of actually doling out any hurt as they were in a civilian area at the time).

For the HP-X the more I think about it, Suspiciously Similar Substitute is a closer fit for him. His role in Fusion of Destinies is more akin to the SA-X's role in Metroid Fusion: Harass the good guys because you can.

I would like someone to please add the following edit to the main page of Ashes of the Past:

  • The Chosen Many: Since Ash is The Chosen One for several people and pokemon who are in charge of choosing the One in a way Ash's Pokemon and companions are in a sense also chosen.
    • In another regard Casey is offered an opportunity to be a Aura Guardian. She accepts.

  • Pass the Popcorn: When the Legendary Beasts and their shiny counterparts come by to watch Ash battle Morty, Scuicune asks for some popcorn.

Also can someone put the following entries under the appropriate character on the Character.Ashes Of The Past page?

Bulbasaur

  • Confusion Fu: Bulbasaur has a incredibly varied move pool to choose from considering his Tangled Family Tree. It's probably easier to list the moves Bulbasaur doesn't know than that ones he does know.

Brock

  • Weapon Of Choice: His crowbar, which only sees combat when Brock needs to whack any unruly Unown.

Happy Easter everyone!

So, doing a little clean-up/expansion. Those were listed as zero content, my inner fanboy had to do something with them. As always, please post after checking.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider:

  • Action Girl: Lara Croft, tomboyish Adventurer Archaeologist able to stand her ground against any and all dangers. She's the only non-extra female character in both films, which makes her actions stand out even more.
  • Ancient Conspiracy: For the first film accept no substitute. The Illuminati are portrayed as an organisation old enough to be around when the previous planetary alignment happened.
  • Ancient Artifact: The Triangle of Light, which dates at least back to early Bronze Age.
  • Artifact of Death: The Pandora's Box in the second film, treated as a container for a superplague.
  • Braids of Action: Lara is wearing her iconic braid most of the time, especially in the first film.
  • Dungeon Crawling: Both films are all about searching ancient sites for equally ancient artifacts.
  • Letting Her Hair Down: By the end of the first film Lara finally carries herself like a lady. Part of the new image is unbraided hair.
  • Male Gaze: The Movie. There is enough fanservice thrown in to gather a... special Periphery Demographic.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Lara Croft, naturally. The first film alone turned Angelina Jolie into a sex symbol.
  • Role Called: A notable case, since the game series was back then simply called "Tomb Raider". When Crystal Dynamics took the franchise over, they also added the "Lara Croft:" part into the title of their games.
  • Scary Black Man: The leader of Powell's Mooks is tall, silent, and black.
  • Scenery Censor: Daniel Craig in the first film manages to take a naked shower on-screen with everything important always being covered.
  • Scenery Porn: The Cambodian part of the first film has long shots of ruins covered with lush vegetation.
  • Shower Scene: The first film has both male and female shower scenes shot with fanservice in mind.
  • Smug Snake: Manfred Powell is a cunning member of the Illuminati inner circle, scheming his way to the top and not above killing his boss.
  • Stripperiffic: Some of Lara's outfits barely cover her. The second film toned it down to make it easier for the make-up artist covering Jolie's tattoos.
  • Temple of Doom: The final site in Siberia from the first film is ruins of the temple originally hosting the Triangle of Light, with all the six-thousand-years-old mechanisms (and traps) still in working condition, if only a bit dusty.
  • Wicked Cultured: Powell is soft-spoken, well-educated and mildly mannered. He also happens to be the main villain of the first film.

This is missing a lot of articles (a, an, the, and so on), there is some Word Cruft (unnecessary words, especially "rather"), a few miscellaneous grammar errors, and a couple of misused tropes.

  • Action Girl: Lara Croft, tomboyish Adventurer Archaeologist able to stand her ground against any and all dangers. She's the only non-extra female character in both films, which makes her actions stand out even more.

Got more edits for Ashes of the Past. First, the main page:

  • Time Police: Celibi goes back and forth in time to make sure time stays in one piece.
  • Sequence Breaking:
    • When Ash made it to Pumilo Island to battle Drake, he spied May and Max in the crowd and decided restoring their memoires early was a good idea.
  • Weapon Of Choice: Brock has a crowbar on hand in case he runs into Unown.

Also can someone add these to Naturalist's section on the Character.Sentinels Of The Multiverse page?

The Naturalist

An African Oil tycoon, he was cursed by Akash'Buta into different animal forms. Thankfully, the Argent Adept found him and helped him find his way. Now he can control his shapeshifting and uses it to fight for the wilds he once ravaged.

Naturalists deck relies on the usage of Form Cards: With them Naturalist can turn into either a Gazelle, a Rhinoceros, or a Crocodile. Depending on the form several of his card gain benefits if used with the correct form in play, letting him play offense, defense, or support at any time and change his forms on the fly.

Naturalist's alternate form is The Hunted Naturalist, where is shapeshifting is slowly growing out of his control.

  • Animorphism: Can turn into any animal, though in the game itself Naturalist can only turn into three: Gazelle, Rhinoceros, and Crocodile.
  • Attack Deflector: Inverted with Threating Stomp and Indomitable Force. Threatening Stomp damages a foe, and if Naturalist was in Rhinoceros Form when the card was played, damage from that target gets redirected to Naturalists. Indomitable Force redirects all damage to Naturalist as long as he is a Rhinoceros, though it only lasts for a turn.
  • Damage Reduction: Rhinoceros form specializes in this.
  • Discard and Draw: Shifter's Strength lets Naturalist discard any number of cards in his hand to draw the same amount.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Hunted Naturalist can do this, using his base power to trigger a Form's effects while having the Form card of another animal in play.
    • He can do this without another Form, because the effect ends when his next turn ends. Hunted Naturalist can use that power one turn, then use that power during the next to change into another form while the first activation of that power is still in effect.
  • Morphic Resonance: Naturalist's animal forms are a darkish grassy green on his upper body with his symbol appearing on or near his shoulder.
  • Regeneration: Resilient Hide slowly heals Naturalist, though only if he is a Rhinoceros.
  • Stance System: Naturalist has three different forms, with each Form changing how Naturalist plays.
    • Gazelle: Supports the team in general, but specialized in healing Naturalist and drawing cards.
    • Rhinoceros: Reduces damage dealt to Naturalist and specializes in redirecting damage to Naturalist and/or reducing damage dealt to Naturalist
    • Crocodile: Increases damage Naturalist deals, and gives Naturalist many opportunities to deal damage.
  • Unstable Genetic Code: Depending on the cards in play, Naturalist's shapeshifting can get a little...weird.
    • Fixed Point, a card in the Time Cataclysm environment deck, prevents all cards other than itself from being destroyed. Each of the Naturalist's Form cards destroy all other Forms when they enter play. Thus, with Fixed Point in play Naturalist can play another Form card with one already in play and get the benefits of each form.
    • Naturalist's alternate form (The Hunted Naturalist) lets the player gain the benefits of one of the three forms until the turn ends as a Power. Since this does not prevent Naturalist from playing a Form, the player can for example turn into the Crocodile while having the Rhinoceros Form in play.

I'm not sure Clock Roaches is right since it means, "Messing with the timeline causes Eldritch Abominations to come after you," but I'm not really familiar with it. You don't say, "Celibi acts as one, going back and forth..." It's just, "Celibi goes back and forth..." Weapon Of Choice is, "Characters' weapons reflect their personality and/or traits," so you need to say why he chooses it. I don't see how what Ash did is breaking the sequence.

Ashes of the Past is a Peggy Sue of the Pokemon Anime. And in the Anime Ash meets May and Max at the start of the Hoenn arc. In the fic however Ash meets May and Max in the Orange Islands they were there to watch Ash battle the Champion of the Orange Islands, a year earlier than planned.

Also Celibi's job in the fic is to keep time running smoothly and to fix the timeline in case of a Time Crash (which does happen, resulting in the Fairy Type becoming a thing). My main reasoning is what happened in a recent part: Ash meets Lance and the Elite Four, and was just about to tell them too much before Celibi pops in and tells Ash what to say (thus preventing Ash from saying too much at the wrong time and preventing time from breaking again.)

Because of that, I thought Celibi was a Clock Roach. While it's much nicer than the usual Clock Roach, Celibi is still a Legendary psychic pokemon capable of animating a forest into a giant tree creature.

I'll change it to Time Police.

Moving on, Weapon Of Choice. Brock first uses the crowbar to save Professor Ivy from some Unown. At the time it's probably an Improvised Weapon, but when Spell of the Unown happens Brock pulls out the same crowbar.

One more trope for the Characters.Sentinels Of The Multiverse page

I hear you. Only thing to do is to do your best and appease the Grammar Gods.

Moving on,I have a question: Would titles count as I Have Many Names? Because if so Haka has a few.

More additions for his section on the Characters.Sentinels Of The Multiverse page

Haka

  • I Have Many Names: Haka has gone by Aata the Bold, Aata the Fierce, Aata the Mask of Death. and Ariki when he was the chief of his tribe.
  • Really 700 Years Old: The exact number isn't known, but Haka is a few hundred years old at he least.
    • His Eternal version is even older, since that that time he's the only human left After the End)

EDIT: Got one for the Omnidisciplinary Scientist page under Tabletop Games:

  • Tachyon, hailing from Sentinels of the Multiverse has knowledge of virtually every branch of science (some examples of her feats include cars that get 60 miles per gallon of gas and the cure for cancer). This is justified as Tachyon has Super-Speed, which let her study multiple branches of science at the same time.

Uh, hi everybody.

I was editing the awesome music page for Ryu Ga Gotoku, and a trope that goes by the name mlsmithca told me that there's a lot of mistakes there.

I'm an Indonesian, and an autodidact thanks to decades of watching TV and films, playing video games, and reading books... but all those technicalities are lost to me. I mean, I know what to do, but the sentences aren't exactly the correct ones.

Can you help? I really want to add more to that page; that franchise has some awesome soundtrack and I've been a fan of that series since it came out in 2005, and I want to share the love, you know?

It's getting late here, so I don't think I'll be editing much now, but I have edited in a lot of the soundtracks from Yakuza 1 to 4, including the Japanese only Kenzan. I have plans to add musics from 5, Ishin/Restoration, the PSP only Kurohyou games, and the latest game Yakuza 0.

Oh, almost forgot. This is my first time editing stuffs for this website, just so you know. Anyway, I wanted to add what I did, but I don't know how to make it similar to the previous posts above.

I'm quite sure mlsmithca had made some changes, but where did I go wrong?

By the way - why six-thousand-years-old and not six thousand years old? I get the rest, but not this one.
When the adjective phrase comes before the noun, you have to hyphenate it. When the adjective phrase comes after the noun, you just use spaces instead.

Actually, in addition to that, it should be "six-thousand-year-old mechanisms," not "six-thousand-years-old mechanisms." When we use units of measure as adjectives, another difference the placement makes is that we use the singular form of the unit when the adjective comes before the noun and the plural form when the adjective comes after the noun.

For example:

"A six-foot-tall man walked down the street."

"A man who was six feet tall walked down the street."

One last thing: When you're using a phrase of this type as a stand-alone noun, it follows the same rules as when it's placed before a noun.

"The five-year-old cried when his mother refused to buy him candy."

Hi everybody. So I'm planning to continue to add more links to the music page for Ryu Ga Gotoku, and here are the lines I'm planning to use. I'll be linking the songs and do what I did when I actually do so, but for now I won't do so.

  • Once again, the installation screen has its own song, titled [insert link here] It's also the final boss theme.
  • Yakuza 5 has yet to be released, so there is no opening for the English version yet. However, enjoy the Japanese opening, [ilh]
  • With the exception of Sawamura Haruka, the other four protagonists have their own battle theme, newcomer Shinada Tatsuo has [ilh], Akiyama uses [ilh], Saejima with [ilh], and Kiryu got [ilh]
  • There are two particular soundtrack used in a fight when you play as Saejima and Kiryu respectively where Saejima breaks out of prison fighting all the inmates and where Kiryu fights one hundred members of the Tojo Clan, and they're titled [ilh] and [ilh]

That's all I've planned for now, and until I buy Yakuza 5—IF it comes out on Region 3 PSN—I'll add more. Also, I plan to make a folder for all of the karaoke tracks from 3 through Zero, but all of the soundtracks in Ishin are in Japanese, so I can only link some from youtube that have English names.

So... what did I do wrong?
