The Altered Destinies is a series of Ranma ½ works of fan fiction looking at alternative histories for the characters.
I’m trying to create a Altered Destinies trope, but getting a massive case of writers block, so since we already have a the more things change and a tale of two wallets I decided to go the slow and steady approach. I’m almost done with Nabiki ½ and am moving on to Most unlikely of friends after that. I’ll also start doing individual tropes.
While AD mostly revolves around Ranma ½ don’t forget that it is a Massive Multiplayer Crossover Fan Verse.
I wanted to add this to Fanfic Fuel but this combined with it being The Multiverse and couldn’t figure out how to condense it down. I’m putting it here both for your input and to see what you think.
General
- Gregg "Metroanime" Sharp's The Bet is a Alternate Universe Fic like with Kevin D. Hammel Crippled: Body and Souls as well as its numerous sequels there are many possibilities to adapt and continue. In-Universe it would be considered a Close-Enough Timeline.
- Also as Frederick Dean Herriot numerous times Fan Sequel is also a great option.
- Adaptation and Continuation are the biggest fuel source.
- What If? a different character was attacked by a werewolf, or it was a different mythical creature like a zombie or a vampire.
- What if Akane didn’t misphrase her wish and Ranma was sent to the future. Ranma or one of the others becomes a Kurustani
- Backstory: Genma and Soun’s past, what if they didn’t end up with Nodoka or Kimiko or end up in a One True Threesome.
- Reality Series is a multi-level series exploring the potential of alternate universe futures where different combinations of the Ranma cast are explored through their progeny, who combine the best qualities of each system. It is inspired by the various fics in the Series. this provides a number of opportunities. Go into more detail of the universes in with Next Gen Fic like Inherit the Storm or like Thunder in the Mountains go more indept in the Inherit the Storm.
- Time Skip: Write about what happened during these. A fanfic about the year between the end of the series and a bitter end. Ryo Saotome attempts to find his way home, how did the evil Ranma regain his sanity.
- Alternate Continuity: creating your own version of a fic Jim himself created two versions of Quantum Destinies as well as a version of Purple Haired Destiny.
- Like in Meet Tendo Nabiki (which can also be looked more indebt into) version of the Scary Thought stories and Switching Heirs that don’t have happy endings
- Fusion Fic: combining universes Quantum Destinies showed a Dark Fic version of A Very Scary Thought by combining it with Ill Met by Starlight, what about an evil version of Kasumi
, Akane or Akane.
- How about just an extremely scary though ranko ½ genma and nodoka have a daughter
- Switching P.O.V.: re-write the fics from the point of view of different characters. A Rugrats –esk retelling of A Very Scary Thought from Lylac, Ekko and Fragrance’s POV as well as the other children. Ranko from Quantum Destinies or the Ranma that gained Super-Intelligence
- Mousse’s time in America from MUOF.
- Remember it’s a Fan Verse is a fanverse with extensive history and rules Peter Schell wrote Tenchi and Ranma Together Forever to go more indebt tenchi’s relationship with Ranma.
- Other fanverses are a part of it so you could add to things like pokegirl verse or set stories in Uxal.

- Dragon Ball Super: This has unlimited possibilities. While a lot of characters have to be eliminated or changed what is added is limitless.
- This is the universe where Udan defeated buu
- Instead of god ki goku and vegeta try to become eluini
- Beerus and the other Gods of destruction wouldn’t exist because they wouldn’t have that much freedom maybe he’s that universe’s version of Darkseid or one of the other alien gods demons like the oni or seven lucky gods.
- Is whis a Modron
- Zeno doesn’t exist or once again he does he could still be just as powerful he just doesn’t have the authorit.
- There are unlimited universes not just 12 but a multiversal fighting tournament could still happen just different circumstances. Maybe their kidnapped introduce the time police into the mix.
- Gods, Demons, Elves Humans are all Human Subspecies so Zamasu would be more Inferiority Superiority Complex. Maybe he’s an expy of Celestine.
- El-Hazard: The Magnificent World: in Atotw they figured out a way to get back home see them in the modern world
- Excel♡Saga: Il Palazzo is a former [[anime/neongenesisevangelion Nerv]] employee who went crazy when his sister died. ACROSS and their attempts to take over Fukuoka City are just a result of his psychosis.
- Excel is a clone of his sister he created. The reason she can heal so quickly is that his sister Reiko turned out to be an Immortal. There is a Relationship Upgrade.
- Hyatt is a martial princess he found and cooped to his cause.
- The period before they were captured by nerv or after Ulsa cured Excel’s Genki Girl personality and she had a Relationship Upgrade with Hyatt.
- manga/fistofthenorthstar: After the End is a averted so you’d get a sort of High School AU. Kenshiro is still chosen as heir, Jaggy still becomes evil but Shin doesn’t. also Kenshiro is a bit of a Adaptational Wimp since he doesn’t have to fight as much.

- Hayate the Combat Butler: while there been any mention of the characters, but given the spiritual strength and No Sense of Direction of the Saginomiya clan and it isn’t farfetched to say that Ginka hooked up with Razor.
- Anime/Hellsing: Alucard is actually Vlad Tepesh III —-Son of Dracula. His abilities come from the fact that his mother is a Chaos Lord, a being of the Outer Dark.

- Given Azusa and Airi we know Yosho Has a Type so it’s easy to determine Balm’s personality.
- It depends on the universe weather Nodoka is his daughter or granddaughter (making ranma either grandson or great grandson). When she is his daughter she is and Expy of Kiyone, but either way Kiyone doesn’t exist Achika is his daughter.
- There was no mention of Noike Tenchi marries Ryoko and Ayeka. Washu performs The Baby Trap Ayeka and Ryoka have a daughter. And each has a child of their own by tenchi.

- Joan hating her father for abandoning them her hating he mother considering her a hypocrite after finding her old love letter to Helena. Being taken advantage of by General Robert Gordon and getting addicted to Compound V-45.
- Clark himself and his adventures throughout the decades, how did he handle lois death was his attraction to Diana inpart because like him she wouldn’t die of old age. What about the death of his first born son. His refusal to work for the government and being deported taking up the name Hiroshi Kent Managi when he moved to japan.
- Did government sponsored hero teams like the avengers sprought up because of his refusal.
- Diana her marriage to Steve, his murder her reaction to it, sending Hippolyta II to her mother while she tracked his murderer Doctor Cyber down. meeting the other amazon villages like Joketsuzoku learning that her mother lied to her about her origins and her father. her eventual remarrying of Clark his happened around the Reagan era. Moving to japan and changing her name to Karina Kent Managi.

He tried to fight Happosai the demon who haunted the Saotome family, but couldn’t even touch him. however the fact that he tried attracted Hanakiro his sensei’s young and highly attractive daughter. Bruce was able to use Happosai’s weakness for undergarments to extract from him a pledge that he would cease harassing the Saotomes. Instead the family came under his protection, more or less, which proved to be a mixed blessing over the years as he was both their protector and the greatest source of misfortunes.

Integra acknowledges him as her cousin, but her branch of the family stopped using the Van in there name when they migrated to England. He did work for the Vatican. With what we know about Stan there are a lot of opportunities. Stan went into Witness Protection, but what about Michael, Ariel, Raphael, Uriel and Gabriel. Is this the same Gabriel or is he just like Alexander.
- The Destroyer: Chiun is comb’s father shampoo’s grandfather and is shown to be absolutely terrified of cologne. Names to run away from

- Harry Potter: Wizard schools in different countries though this appears to be more of a depending on the universe thing as mages, witches wizards ect are shown to be different.
- Literature/Paratime: Time Police we have Reality series what about before that or show other agents.
Jim Bader: Shiva-Ranma is sort of like the heavy big gun that you only bring in when you want to level the playing field...and I mean that quite literally. He's not exactly there for *surgically* precise removal of trouble elements, and that means when he shows up it's going to be on the verge of near Armageddon...
- We know that the Dirty Pair are agents and are still just as much Destructive Saviour.
- Also its generally believed that the time patrol and superheroes wouldn’t get along given the huge number of Crisis Crossover.
jeremy_blackstone: Frankly I don't think the Time patrol and superheroes have a very loving relationship with each other. For instance take the The Once and Future Thing episode from Justice League unlimited. Chronos while intelligent was just some loser going around steeling trash. I was equivalent to writing a parking ticket to whoever was assigned to it now enter Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern and chronos becomes this megalomaniacal maniac who destroyes three universes. And in the end they leave that particular universe in somekind of temporal loop. You know someone was pissed.
- Buffy The Vampire Slayer: This has the potential to be either an Adaptational Badass or Adaptational Wimp. The vampires depicted on the show [1] are those the only vampires buffy has fought. She didn’t fight Dracula but his son, but he still should be a Master Vampire and thus stronger then the one depicted. Then there is the nature of magic, gods, demons, ect.
- Doctor Who: Ryoga is a companion
- Relic Hunter: Sydney and Nigel have been taking care of Ryomi.

- Street Fighter: see more of the light hado
- Dead or Alive: Kasumi is another template of Belldandy
- Video Game/Battlearenatoshinden: these are the best weapon fighters in the world.
- Video Game/Darkstalkers: Delphi is an elite group of industrialists and Paranormal types loosely allied on the principle of advancing the general welfare of humanity through information exchange and the promotion of Renaissance ideals. Unlike the MIB mostly their concerns are with this world, not Aliens per-se, except for a few unusual cases where the two share a mutual interest.
- Astarte Jones: We see the furies origins stories and bits and pieces of them in nabiki ½.
- Family Guy: Stewie Griffin is the current incarnate of one a feared evil genius who died when his last caper went a cropper, only to be reincarnated into the womb of Lois. He has all of the memories of his former life and hates Lois because he was aware while in the womb. He also joined a chat room with other child prodigies such as Ekko, Dexter, Wednesday Addams the Third, Jimmy Neutron, and Bernie the Brain. However his constant complaints of having to adjust to being a regular family guy has started to sound repetitive to them causing Ekko to call him out for clogging up the chatline. There is no mention of who he was before. Is he why brian has human intelligence.

- Scooby-Doo: Scoobert "Scooby" Doo is the Great Dane mascot of Mystery Inc., and pet and best friend of Shaggy Rogers. It is unknown how he is able to talk, but given that the Mystery Inc. have had run ins with the MIB he might be an alien. They’ve also had run ins with Delphi so supernatural origins. John Talbain is said to look like Shaggy though he’s offended by this.
- It turns out that a lot of fiction Based on a True Story there are a lot of opportunites for Real-Person Fic.
- The idea for Eternal Champion was suggested to /Michael Moorcock by Corl the Soul Warrior’s reincarnation. However unlike in his works the forces of Chaos and Order are not evenly balanced but rather strive in contention for all eternity to gain mastery over the Cosmos.
- Jules Verne wrote about Magnus Castiglione’s adventures in the first Nautilus
- Steven Spielberg seems to be a James Cameron type. The Raptors from Jurassic Park weren’t animatronic, but the Velari a tribe of intelligent Velociraptors he hired as actors. So a King Kong type of adventure to Pangea. Legendary mythical Islands located in the Southern Hemisphere close to Antarctica otherwise known as The Lands that Time Forgot or the Morpheus Project. Raiders of the Lost Ark was based off the accounts of the woman who survived the incident.

i've finished reading Tenchi Ranma Together Forever, and i realize just how big The Altered Destinies
really is. this caused me to wonder why only one of its fanfics has a trope
. if you separate it by the authors you still have multiple Fan Verse. there are forums for the bitter end here, multiple recommendations but hardly actual tropes. i find it strange. look how big it is
that's not even all of it as to this day its still expanding, there are new chapters, Ascended Fanon. heck the writers themselves don't even know how many works are in it do to the massive amount of Fanfic Fuel.
