https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/emo_8.png

Mirai's childhood best friend and a member of the Cheerleading team at school who relies on her "vibes" to keep her in the loop. With a fiery spirit and energetic personality, she supports her loved ones and decides to become a Pri☆Chan Idol after getting into an argument with Anna Akagi, a classmate and Idol she is unable to tolerate. She is a Pop-type who uses the brand Girl's Yell. Her Idol talent is Dancing.

Tropes

  • Actor Allusion: Miyu Kobota also previously voiced Sophy. Emo can occasionally be seen doing Sophy's pshu~ gag.
    • Also bonus because Sophie acted as a cheerleader in episode 102 of Pri Para.
  • Anime Hair: Long banana-like pigtails that curl inward.
  • Best Friend: Since childhood with Mirai.
  • Catchphrase: Emoi
  • Dub Name Change: "Momo" in the Korean dub.
  • Dumb Blonde: If her confusing mascara for maracas says anything, she's uh....not very bright.
  • Generation Xerox: In episode 35, we find out that she's pretty much a dead ringer for her granny when she was young with only a slight difference in hairstyle, a red headband and Fumi Hirano pretty much using her Lum voice for her granny's younger self.
  • Genki Girl: Though not to the same degree as Mel or Maria.
  • Meaningful Name: It may seem like an ironic name for English speakers, her name comes from "emotion" and Emo certain displays a lot of that.
  • The Rival: Her dynamic with Anna, she finds Anna annoying and Anna just enjoys toying with her.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy to Mirai and Rinka's girly girl.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Popcorn
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Terrified of cats, due to often being swarmed by them as a child. After having to watch a stray cat, she seems to have gotten over it.

    Rinka Aoba

Voiced by: Nanami Atsugi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rinka_2.png

A shy and bookish classmate of Emo and Mirai's who surprises them with her knowledge of Pri☆Chan. Tropes

  • Anime Hair: More tame than most styles in the Pretty series, but it's still there.
  • Barely-Changed Dub Name: "Rika" in the Korean dub.
  • Cuteness Overload: Her reaction to the piranha plant Anna brought to the Flower Shop in Episode 02.
    • And then there's her reaction to Sara and Mirai in episode 10 which crosses into yuri fangirl territory
    • This has pretty much become a Running Gag with Silk.
  • Flanderization: By season 3 her obsession with Silk has become part of her full personality.
  • Sixth Ranger: Sort of. During the early days of the Miracle☆Kiratts she was only the camerawoman and/or manager of the group. She makes her debut as an actual idol in episode 15.
  • Stage Magician: Her brand's motif as shown in her debut as an idol.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Looks identical to her Absurdly Youthful Mother, Junko. The only difference (aside from their personalities) is that Rinka's glasses are smaller and Junko's hair is a bit darker.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Apple pie.
  • Ship Tease: Quite a few times with Sara, Rinka certainly doesn't mind this at all.

Meltic StAr

    Anna Akagi

Voiced by: Yuu Serizawa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anna_6.png

A popular Pri☆Chan Idol whose face is practically on everything. With her charismatic nature and cuteness, Anna Akagi manages to steal the show wherever she goes - much to the ire of Emo. After being insulted by Emo when she refused to give Mirai an autograph, she challenged them to become Top Idols. She is a Lovely-type who uses the brand Dolly Waltz.

Tropes

  • Alliterative Name: It runs in the family too, her parents' names are Arashi Akagi and Antaro Akagi.
  • Attention Whore: She gets very angry if she thinks someone is ignoring her. She also actively finds ways of stealing the spotlight.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Only those aware of her pretending to be The Cutie would notice that she is actually this.
  • Butt-Monkey: Tends to harshly be hit by karma whenever she attempts to hinder the group's progress or cheat. She's been hit in the face by a ball, mauled by wild animals (out of affection), disqualified from a competition after arguing with Emo, often insulted, ditched at the stadium before she could perform; and this was all before the tenth episode.
  • Comedic Underwear Exposure: As if she wasn't already a Butt-Monkey, she's subjected to this in episode 30, her panties are blocked by a cat, but the scene VERY much implies this with everyone reacting about how you'd expect, this show being broadcast on TV Tokyo note  was the only thing saving her from further humiliation.
  • Costume Porn: Ribbons. Her coords and fancier clothing usually include frilly accessories.
  • Fluffy Tamer: Might be one. Wild animals adore her, and she had no problem interacting with them until they got too excited.
  • Full-Name Basis: So far, Emo always refers to Anna by her full name.
  • Girlish Pigtails: A pair of loose Regal Ringlets.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's not above flaunting her wealth and status in an obnoxious manner, but it's clear that she sees Miracle Kiratts as competent rivals and friends.
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: Implied. After the baking event, she was unable to understand why nobody would want her extremely expensive and large dessert in comparison to the much smaller, fairly priced ones.
  • The Rival: Her dynamic with Emo, and she enjoys every opportunity she gets to mess with her.
  • Ship Tease: Mostly with Sara and Emo, more commonly the latter.
  • Spoiled Brat/Rich Bitch: Wealthy and used to getting her way.
  • Super Drowning Skills: In Episode 22, we find out that she can't swim.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Well...not exactly food, but she likes black tea.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Episode 26 reveals that she's not really fond of haunted houses.

Voiced by: Yuki Wakai

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sara_83.png

Anna Akagi's close friend and a fellow classmate whose passionate personality and guitar playing captures the hearts of others. Naturally calm and composed, she usually keeps Anna from going too far and pulls her back when she gets too rough, genuinely wanting them to succeed in comparison. She is a Cool-type who uses the brand Romance Beat.

Tropes

  • Cuteness Proximity: Suffered from this while watching Mirai interact with the residents of Fluffy Kingdom
    • Happens again in episode 26 when she gets caught in a trap set by Oshama Tricks as evidenced by her hiding a pink teddy bear behind her back.
    • In the official Pri☆Chan Cast toys, she talks about liking cute things a lot....well mostly cute girls.
  • Idiot Hair: A long curled one over her bangs.
  • Ship Tease: In addition to Anna, she also gets plenty of this with Mirai and Rinka, really the only member of the main cast she isn't ship teased with is Emo.
  • Straight Man: Basically plays this role in regards to Anna's shenanigans.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy to Anna's girly girl. Her appearance, mannerisms, and outfits are very boyish.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: She really likes cute things, but hides it since this clashes with her image.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mel_render.png

  • Anime Hair: Her hair looks like a purple Christmas tree.

  • Expy: She looks like a fusion of Mia and Shuka.

  • Sixth Ranger: Well....not quite, she's the third introduced but she was one of the founding members of Meltic StAR, and the center of it since her name is in the band name, however due to a Noodle Incident her, Anna & Sara all went their separate ways.
  • Smarter Than You Look: She's already graduated from university. joined NASA at one point and can solve equations that boggle even the smartest scientists.

Tropes

W Daia

Daia Nijinosaki and Virtual PriChan Idol Daia

Voiced by: Rico Sasaki (both)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nijinosaki_transparent.png
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/daia.png

The human Daia Nijinosaki, who would rather go as "Nijinosaki", is a very shy girl who seems to avoid anyone, and she seems to have low self-esteem.

The virtual idol Daia is the host of the Jewel Auditions and, as the title implies, a virtual creature who can appear and fly out of any screen she's in. She's shown to have a cheery attitude. She is a pop-type idol whose preferred brand is Milky Rainbow.

These two seem to share the same name, and one seems to appear after the other is gone. Could these two Daias be the same Daia? Nope.

Tropes (both)

Tropes (Nijinosaki)

  • Expository Hairstyle Change: After becoming a jewel idol, she gives herself twintails similar to Daia's.
  • Fangirl: Of Miracle☆Kiratts, she even has a KiracCHU keychain she made herself.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: She was always really shy and was never able to get close to anyone in her life. As a child, she read a book about a princess that made lots of friends with the dresses she created. This book inspired her to sew dresses and to create the Jewel Auditions so she could send them away and make friends with them.
  • Last-Name Basis: Prefers this and doesn't like being called by her first name.
  • Shrinking Violet: By the beginning of season 2, she had no friends besides Daia due to her lack of social skills, and she always ran away from everyone who tried to approach her.

Tropes (Virtual Daia)

  • Big Bad Slippage: Initially since her debut, she was just a bubbly virtual girl who's existence and abilities were a mystery to others, and would offer Nijinosaki help to get closer to real people. It isn't until late season 2 after Nijinosaki was able to get real friends when she starts feeling useless and turning into Dark Daia as a result.
  • Catchphrase: "Kiranichiwa!"
    • "Dayonichiwa!" in her dark form.
  • Go Mad from the Isolation: After feeling no longer needed by Nijinosaki, she started to turn into her dark self, and it gets worse everytime she sees her with Mirai and company.
  • Disney Death: After her dark transformation, Daia's program suffered heavy damage, so after beating the gigantic bugcchu in episode 102 without having time to recover her strength, she fades away. Hovever, her desire to be with Nijinosaki caused a part of her to be left; her heart. Therefore, she was reborn as a smaller Daia.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: She decides to fight the Bugcchus in episode 101 with all of her remaining energy despite her system being damaged due to her dark form, this causes her to die after the fight. She gets better, though. Well, almost better.
  • Humanity Is Infectious: Daia was created to be Nijinosaki's design palette's assistant avatar, and it was Nijinosaki's deep desire to be a Prichan idol like Mirai that gave her emotions and made her build a bond to her. However, said emotions, along with the fact that she doesn't know how to fully express what she feels, are also what ended up driving her to insanity.
  • Refugee from TV Land: She can come in and out of any screen and kiratto jewel at free will.
  • Verbal Tic: -Damon!
    • "-Dayon!" in her dark form.
