  • In 2015, a plague known as the Kalavirus is unleashed and spread across the world, killing 98% of the human population and the survivors being defaulted to fending for themselves in the wild and against each other for resources and territories. Amongst all this, reveals a shadowy organization that apparently takes responsibility for the plague; The Army of the 12 Monkeys, led by an enigmatic individual in the future known only as "The Witness". They found immediate opposition under an organization known as Project Splinter, whose chief scientist, Dr. Katarina Jones, created a time machine for the sole purpose of stopping the plague from ever happening and selecting James Cole to personally save the world after his name was namedropped by someone named Cassandra Railly. Cole and two notable members, the Pallid Man and The Striking Woman, would repeatedly clash against one another, with the former being responsible for the death of his father in 2015 and the latter grooming his friend, Jose Ramse in working with him. Later on, as Cole and Cassandra were able to delay the release of the Kalavirus from 2015 to 2018 and convincing Jennifer Goines to start fighting for a good cause, the 12 Monkeys revealed that their goals weren't to simply spread a plague; they wanted to destroy the fabric of time and space to initiate a phenomenon known as the "Red Forest" where time is non-existent and the trapped would be able to live with their loved ones forever. They initially intended to accomplish this by going back in time to kill individuals known as Primaries (beings who can see and have a connection with time itself) by stabbing them with a knife made from their future corpses' breast bone. Their base of operations, a city known as Titan, was itself, a time-machine and they possessed technology more advanced than those developed by Project Splinter, being able to create suits that automatically time travel.
    • Despite initial understandings that Cole and Cassie's future son, Athan, was to be The Witness, it was later revealed that the true identity was actually The Striking Woman, Olivia Kirschner, who herself was a genetically engineered human being who was raised in a boxed, isolated space, and was supposedly exiled from the organization, which she paid back by personally killing The Pallid Man. She also killed Athan when he dared to defy and tell her that she would lose. Olivia then took matters into her own hands, hunting down Project Splinter throughout history until she decided to force her daughter, Emma, to power up Titan's full output in an attempt to completely destroy time and force everyone into the Red Forest. Alas, this would not come to pass; Cole was able to round up everyone he knew, plus deceased allies from the past and invade Titan, with Cassandra kicking Olivia into a splintering beam, bisecting her in half and sending Olivia's top-half of her body to Annapurna in 894 AD where she would freeze to death and her body would become the origin of the Kalavirus. Even then, this would be outdone by Jones and Cole as they find a way to send the latter to a timeline where the 12 Monkeys never existed.
  • The Pantheon was able to keep records of the 12 Monkey's existence in the House of Knowledge, but reported signs of the organization were next-to-none, that is, until a group of mysterious beings showed up with a teleporting suit, seeking to collect something in The Great Treasury. However, a band of heroes were able to drive them away, but this left further questions; just who were these people and what were they talking about regarding the future and a Red Forest? The higher-ups in the House of Knowledge immediately raised concern about the situation, the 12 Monkeys may have made an entrance. Further muddying the situation was when someone reported that Olivia's remains were found and were rejuvenated to life. Things became really dire when the Pantheonic Time Police were called upon to investigate, whereupon Olivia declared that her defeat has only steeled her resolve to destroy time and bring up the Red Forest.
  • The Army of the 12 Monkeys is an incredibly elusive and secretive organization. In fact, they were able to travel around the Pantheon without anyone being aware of them and even then, documents of its existence was only sheltered in the House of Knowledge. Even after their presence have been revealed, the 12 Monkeys instead decides to keep themselves isolated as far away as they should. As a result, little is still known about them. Melkor seems annoyed by this as he feels that they would make an incredible asset to the Grand United Alliance of Evil, but their goals of a supposed paradise counter what the God of Evil really wants. Cosmos, Gaea and YHVH don't really have much to say beyond naturally opposing them and Nekron balls at the idea of the Red Forest; life should be obliterated, full stop.
    • However, the 12 Monkeys were able to get into the good graces of Lucifer, simply stating that their goals are to save humanity and to give them a place where time simply won't interrupt with them anymore. Lucifer himself is conflicted on what Olivia and her organization desire, but decided to go along and give them some resources and support out of goodwill. She wants to make sure what Lucifer has given her is put to good use. Many members of the GUAC are conflicted about this; the fact that they killed 7 billion people totally counters what Olivia tends to preach, but her aid can be proven beneficial in the sense that they can be given tertiary technology to travel back in time in case a plan goes awry.
  • To further their reputation as a shadowy organization, many of its members wear a special suit that utilizes advanced splinter technology. As a result, they are able to instantaneously travel through time via a large blue button on their left chest. In the occasion that they fail a mission and relay future information to a past version through direct contact, they would press a smaller orange button to immolate and vaporize themselves into nothing less, to ensure that their past selves succeed where they failed. These soldiers, the top being known as Acolytes, are incredibly dangerous, but not unbeatable. Through clever planning, they can be defeated by quickly pressing their orange buttons to disintegrate them, given that removing the suit requires outside help and a fast reaction. Olivia and the Pallid Man hope to increase their technology to mitigate their suits' weaknesses.
  • One of the reasons for their elusive nature is the simple fact that their city of operations, Titan, happens to be a time travel itself, so one second later, they may be in a different place and time altogether, much to everyone's dismay. That said, the Pantheonic Time Police has made it certain that they won't be going anywhere and it's members, alongside their close allies have made sure that the 12 Monkeys don't travel too much, in addition to being tracked. That said, Olivia claims to have been to the beginning of the Pantheon and know who won the Forever War in the end and who lived and died throughout, though she's not going to say anything further than that.
  • While Project Splinter was not happy in the slightest to see the 12 Monkeys back in the Pantheon, the Pantheonic Time Police has made the situation more fortunate on their side as the 12 Monkeys seem to find themselves getting hounded and chased around the Pantheon and through time by several different heroes. The organization has sent a series of troops into the past to influence specific events in the Pantheon to their advantage covertly. That said, the members of Project Splinter do occasionally combat against the 12 Monkeys, with Cole and Cassie especially having it out on Olivia as she killed their son, Athan, while Olivia is content with having revenge, in addition to disregarding Cole and Cassie from being sent to the Red Forest.
  • They would naturally be enemies with the Time Force Power Rangers due to just how much damage they've caused to the timestream, but it seems Wes Collins is the only one present. He personally pities Olivia as, like Ransik, there were tragic circumstances behind their motivations as villains, but Olivia simply chooses to go ahead with her goal of destroying time, not caring about consequences, unlike Ransik who managed to find redemption after being humbled. As a result, Wes does whatever he can do to oppose the 12 Monkeys and their goals. Sougo Tokiwa is also someone who likes to let destiny follow it's course, but gets why Project Splinter went to avert the fates of 7 billion people and doesn't seem to like the 12 Monkeys for their callousness. Finally, Tsukasa Kadoya had to deal with a Time Crash before in his mortal life and naturally registers the 12 Monkeys as a grave threat because of it.
  • Eobard Thawne once approached the 12 Monkeys in an effort to solidify a partnership between them. He quickly gained attention to the fact that they were time travellers who were bent on destroying an aspect of reality and that may as well jump in for the fun. Olivia was open to accepting Thawne's aid, but it soon becomes clear that their teamwork is hard at best. While the 12 Monkeys are heavily dangerous and feared, they prefer if things are done smoothly and covertly so as to ensure they influence history without too much notice, whereas Thawne is a sadistic madman who wants to cause mayhem and chaos for the hell of it. Thawne personally sees the 12 Monkeys as a men's to an end as Barry Allen is a notable foe for them. That said, Olivia seems to know Thawne doesn't have any loyalty either, but both are deciding to play along for now, even if it's apparent that no one is really trustworthy of one another.
    • Barry himself is vehemently opposed to what the 12 Monkeys stand for and what their goals are. While he understands the overall goal of wanting to be with their loved ones, Barry still calls out the logic that reality and everyone have to be destroyed for something like that to happen, while Olivia and the Pallid Man just see Barry as naive and childish for trying to speak up to him. He retorted that he did try to do something rather similar, but ended up creating a bigger disaster that he had to fix, whereas the 12 Monkeys seek to learn nothing from their past experiences.
  • There is an interesting Irony to consider when there's an organization known as the 12 Monkeys who were responsible for a plague when in in a particular version of another setting, a virus known as the ALZ-112 ended up killing most humans and dismantling civilization whilst also granting primates, monkeys included, with abnormal intelligence. Caesar does not take the similarity kindly as he sees the 12 Monkeys as a vicious and malevolent organization whose title spells disgrace and embarrassment towards apes in general. Koba also returns the sentiment, but only because of his extreme hate towards humankind than anything else. Oddly enough, the 12 Monkeys themselves see Koba as being too much of a hassle to tolerate and deal with.
  • Another partner was Nox, who only desires to be reunited with his family that died indirectly by his decision to pursue the greatest source of Wakfu and ended up being broken up by the fact that all he was able to do with it was rewind time by 20 minutes. The 12 Monkeys, in an attempt to coddle with Nox's desperation, offered him the chance of reuniting with his family, which Nox decided to comply with. That said, Nox himself is a Wild Card; he doesn't care about the Red Forest nor the 12 Monkeys' ultimate goal. To him, they're just a means to find a way to get back to his family. Though he does pity Olivia for being raised in an isolated household, though at the same times, he chastises her for being neglectful and abusive towards her daughter, Emma.
  • They also found a partner in Randall Ross, who has a similar goal in destroying time. Unlike the 12 Monkeys and Box, Randall is driven by more selfish and petty matters, namely that he lost a volleyball game. Olivia herself thinks the reason is pathetic but goes along with Randall as he does seem to be a capable asset with a lot of power to justify his threat. Still, Randall is only in it for himself and doesn't care about the Red Forest phenomena. There was also The Vex, a group of mechanical aliens who also were practitioners of time and sought to complete The Pattern, which basically meant terraforming the universe in their own image. Because their goals were similar in a sense, the 12 Monkeys had little issue in working with The Vex, in addition to being potentially given more advanced technology to work with. Olivia hopes that this could be enough to either improve their technology involving time travel and/or strike back harder against their foes.
  • Both the Pallid Man and Olivia spend a lot of their time neck-and-neck against one another, given the fact that the latter killed the former out of revenge for the Pallid Man disregarding and throwing Olivia out of the organization. While he still remains associated with the 12 Monkeys, his relationship with the overall organization has since soured considerably and because of his, he's more likely to be making alliances with other individuals if it means furthering his own goals. As for Olivia, she is determined to make sure that the Pallid Man is kept under surveillance.
  • Darkseid thinks the Red Forest is impractical and just a more "flowery" way of saying that you will be trapped in eternity. That, and he personally thinks the 12 Monkeys run on an end goal that seems non-sensical and would accomplish nothing besides just making yourself happy. Olivia and the Pallid Man counteract by stating that Darkseid desires far worse which is why most deities oppose him. The Lord of Tyranny simply snickered and retorted that the 12 Monkeys aren't any better and what they preach doesn't scream good-intentioned towards everyone else, what with travelling around, ruining the lives of many just to bring about an illusionary concept by destroying time. That, and Darkseid is honest about his ultimate goal.
    • Another reason why Darkseid chose not to work with the 12 Monkeys is because he believes time travel is too much of a detriment and only further increases the chances of flaws and weaknesses in one's plan. He bluntly thinks this is a key reason why the 12 Monkeys lost despite their persistence and keeping themselves connected with time. Olivia thinks the God of Apokolips is being an idiot, but Darkseid thinks she's a fool.
  • Zamasu despises the 12 Monkeys in the same way he expresses this feeling towards Project Splinter; both were equally guilty of the "sin" of time travelling and for using their intelligence to further sunder and spoil a world's beauty. On one hand, Zamasu does raise a point in that the 12 Monkeys really did do considerable damage to the timestream, what with their tampering of events and killing Primaries with knives from their corpses' breast bone. One the other hand, Zamasu is the last person to be calling out others, let alone the 12 Monkeys for committing terrible actions via travelling through time, given how a version of him, Goku Black, took it upon himself to travel to a ruined timeline and lay waste and misery in the guise of "justice". Olivia and the Pallid Man think the Fallen Kai is delusional and find it hilarious that Zamasu fails to see how so much of what he says applies just as much to himself, perhaps even more so.
  • Due to their constant abuse of time travel and is responsible for altering history too much for their own ends, the 12 Monkeys would inevitably attract the attention of The Dahaka, in what can be considered their most persistent enemy outside of the Pantheonic Time Police. Given how The Dahaka hounds and targets those who only use time travel for their own gains and not caring about the damage they cause, it's reasons are justified. Project Splinter themselves could be enemies, but ultimately, since they've joined the Pantheon, they've almost stopped, so it has little use in pursuing them. Olivia seems to be unnerved by The Dahaka's nature and does whatever she can to distance herself and the organization away from it as much as she can... by time-travelling less often than they usually did. That doesn't change the fact that she's hell-bent on her goals though and wishes that it kills The Dahaka one it's initiated.
  • In another version of their story, the 12 Monkeys was ultimately nothing more than an anarchist animal rights organization headed by Jeffrey Goines when the virus itself was actually created by a lab assistant completely separate from the group. Upon hearing of this tale, Olivia felt amused to hear that the very organization that she would head was nothing more than a distraction from the actual stem of the virus, though because of how small-time this was compared to the 12 Monkeys that she leads, she doesn't think much of it.

  • Allies: Keel Lorenz
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with: The Old Gods
  • Rivals: The Illuminati, Yamato Hotsuin, Kiara Sesshouin, Cyrus, The Flying Spaghetti Monster, any faith for that matter
  • Enemies: The SCP Foundation, YHVH and especially Lucifer, Rosalina, Maxwell, The Emperor of Mankind, the other Neon Genesis Evangelion deities, Victor Szasz/The Question
  • Opposed by: Ostara, the House of Knowledge
  • The Fifth Church is a rather peculiar faith. A secretive religious society around astral symbolism, they come off as a hybrid of New Age belief and other faiths or philosophies such as Christianity, communism and whatever they can integrate in. They're a peculiar and influential church, but the Fifthists are not to be underestimated given their use of anomalous items and ideas.
  • They have a lot of celebrity members, their own cruise ship and even some SCP Foundation members. It reminds a lot of people of a sci-fi, lawsuit-happy organization. For this reason, they have their eyes on the House of Popularity and the various celebrities in the pantheon. The Foundation has increased their surveillance of "Fifthists" for this.
  • The Illuminati regards the Fifth Church as a rival towards their enigmatic goals and interests. This has not made the Illuminati (or the Fifth Church for that matter) any easier to understand. The Fifth Church regards Kiara Sesshouin as a rival as well. Asides from conflicting long-term goals, they recognize how she incorporates and alters Buddhism in an angle very different from the original faith. It reminds them of how they incorporate other beliefs.
  • It's simpler to say that pretty much all and any faith is a potential rival for the Fifth Church. Ostara does not like their habit of co-opting different belief systems for their own, considering she was a victim of Christianity doing that to her. The Flying Spaghetti Monster finds them amusing if competitive, and its a mutual feeling by Fifthists.
  • Northern Fifthists think stars have power, though whether they are a source of power or not is unclear. For this reason, they spend a lot of time in the Hall of Celestial Bodies and Stars. They are most fascinated by Rosalina and Aurelion Sol. While Aurelion doesn't care about what they're doing, Rosalina doesn't like their larger ambitions.
  • The ultimate goal of the Fifth Church is to ascend to the "Fifth World" and live as gods. This involves an Assimilation Plot that'd involve the Death of Personality for everyone involved. they see this as a good thing. Keel Lorenz is the only god so far that would wholeheartedly agree with it, which has gotten them the opposition of the other Evangelion gods.
  • Cyrus was more uncertain about where he sides with the Fifth Church. While he seems to respect their goals and conviction, it conflicts with his own opinions on what is best. This was something Yamato Hotsuin similarly felt, leading to both of the visionaries being rivals to the Fifth Church.
  • Neither Lucifer or YHVH like the Fifth Church. While many Fifthists belief systems preach on The Evils of Free Will, their hopes of ascension into a higher, divine form goes against YHVH's plans of making humanity His worshippers forever. The Old Ones were the Shin Megami Tensei deities who's goals for mankind were the closest to the Fifth Church. Even then, it's tenuous as Fifthists vary on where they stand with them.
  • Upon learning about them, the Emperor of Mankind rambled on them being yet another example of his belief of religion being bad. He got even grumpier when they started to co-opt the Imperium's beliefs for their own purposes, as they have throughout history. He believes that they are the most vulnerable to the taint of Chaos. To be fair, the Ruinous Powers were interested in them and their desires to shape reality made them attractive converts. Tzeentch is most interested in them as his countless gambits is even more enigmatic that the Fifthists.
  • While they seem goofy and harmless, they are far more than that. Most of their religion involves altering reality for one's own benefit rather than adjusting to reality. It's this reason why they targeted Maxwell and their book, given they almost destroyed reality with a self-help book. SCP-2456 allows them to Ret-Gone those who learn too much of them, putting them at odds with the House of Knowledge. The Question, conspiracy theorists he is, was confident that they were up to no good.

  • Los Iluminados is a religious cult based on a remote region in Spain, who came into notoriety after they managed to capture the then-daughter of the President of the United States, Ashley Graham and planned to return her as a Manchurian Agent in order to take control of his father and Take Over the World. While the cult existed centuries ago, it was disbanded by the Salazar family before but the arrival of the mysterious priest Osmund Saddler changed everything, who convinced both the latest Salazar in line, Ramon, and the village chief Bitores Mendez to unearth the ancient parasites known as "Las Plagas" which would spell doom for the free will of the villagers and kickstart Saddler's attempt at world domination.
  • Saddler's plan for the most part worked wonders, since he received the unexpected help from Jack Krauser, an american who went rogue from the military and captured Ashley for him, who in reality was after a sample of Las Plagas on behalf of Wesker. This in turn brought the attention of the American Goverment who tasked one of it's new recruits at the time Leon S. Kennedy to rescue Ashley, uncovering the whole plot about Los Iluminados and Las Plagas and ending the threat of them once and for all. The entire group resurfaced in the Pantheon after a deity accidentally unearthed a sample of Las Plagas which brought the influence of the group into the Pantheon, though some believe the Grand United Alliance of Evil is behind all of this.
  • Los Iluminados is composed of the heads of both the Village and the Castle, Bitores Mendez and Ramon Salazar respectively, the villagers and cultist that follow each, a group of infected mercenaries, several monstrosities created by Las Plagas and Saddler himself, and naturally they all have one thing in common: they want revenge against Leon Kennedy. Obviously the sudden arrival of the cult just gave Leon a really bad reminder of his time in Spain and while he himself has no problem taking them down, he would rather not deal with a Plaga infection again.
  • Saddler and his ilk quickly learned that shortly after their defeat, Albert Wesker managed to attain a sample of Las Plagas and with that and the help of his buddies at Tricell managed to create advanced version of Las Plagas, even capable of resisting sunlight. Naturally the cult and Wesker alongside his sister Alex do not get along at all, often clashing because Wesker still has access to those same samples he managed to acquire but Saddler has saw some interesting potential in those parasites and has tried numerous times to steal them to do some research on them.
    • They have also taken note of the several members of Umbrella scattered through the Pantheon, a few of their B.O.W.s interested the cult immensely given their potential with a Parasite host, not to mention that it is believe that the Nemesis-alpha parasite utilized with the Nemesis Tyrant is believed to be Umbrella's attempt at creating their own type of Las Plagas and seeing how dangerous the Nemesis is, they wanted to capture the creature for testing purposes. Similar attempts have been made with Lisa Trevor but several of the Ganados sent to capture Lisa have been swiftly killed by her with no serious harm done to her.
  • Los Iluminados didn't actually perish when Saddler died contrary to what Leon and the rest of the world believed, a few surviving members still remained and they ultimately went to work under Glenn Arias and develop the powerful A-Virus, though naturally learning of Saddler's return in the Pantheon have made them reconsider their loyalties. Luckily for them Arias was willing to form a truce with Saddler, both men had many common enemies and a disdain for the american goverment, ironic considering Saddler wouldn't be willing to trust an american like Arias but seeing potential in his virus and how he took good care of his subjects, he decided his contributions would be valuable.
  • Los Iluminados has a very clear disdain towards americans, while most outsiders are usually not to their liking, Americans are the ones they despise the most probably because they are one of most powerful nations in the world, hence the capture of Ashley Graham. Several american and patriotic deities felt insulted after Saddler criticized the common cliche of America Saves the Day, which ironically he too felt prey too and the fact that pantheonic titles fall under the so called "cliches" (actually tropes) does not amuse him at all, but he is willing to go along with this charade as long as it benefits him. Los Iluminados has clashed with several american groups because of their outspoken anti-american nature, which usually makes them the target of such groups like Team America or Broforce.
  • In their quests for world domination, Los Iluminados has pledged their loyalty to the Grand United Alliance of Evil since they are content with backing them as long as they get to have control of Las Plagas. Saddler isn't super loyal to Melkor but better be working for him than be under the heel of a filthy american. That said, he doesn't approve of any fellow american GUAE member at all.
  • The cult has managed to find several other like-minded individuals during their attempts at divulging their teachings. One of them was the Lunatic Cultist, a worshipper of the Old Ones who holds a power akin to Saddler and believing Las Plagas are the spawn of one of his gods, he has been in talks with Saddler in order to form a partnership. Another one was Leopold Goenitz, who approached the group with an offer to serve or at least work alongside him and his master Orochi and even promised to vanquish their enemies if they helped them reawaken his master. Salazar also managed to get himself chummy with the Crimson Court, a fellow aristocratic group and one of the few that don't mind his rather depraved activities, praising his castle for being a rather interesting place for them.
    • One problem that arose with the alliance with the Crimson Court was that the Ancestor took notice of Los Iluminados and saw that they are up to no good. Saddler and Salazar even remind him of the people he used to be around in the past and Saddler has even tried to "persuade" him to his side with his trademark snark but the Ancestor was certainly not amused by his proposals.
  • Believed to be from alien origin, the Fifth Church saw fit to investigate Las Plagas and learn more about their nature and why they were found in the depths of the ground in Spain to begin with. Saddler found their teachings perplexing and while their goals aren't entirely aligned with that of his group, nevertheless he has allowed some members under the pretext of research and possibly a few potential improvement for Las Plagas, both cults have remained on friendly terms but some believe that Saddler will eventually terminate the partnership once their research is no longer useful.
  • Mendez is not only a priest but also the chief of his village and very respected man, enough to be granted a Dominant Plaga to command his fellow villagers. Some people have confused him for Rasputin given their similar looks, not to mention that his toughness has contributed to the already legendary reputation of Rasputin. The Mad Monk finds the comparison amusing but he would never adhere to the teaching of Los Iluminados and would rather not be associated with them or Mendez in the slightest, but both men do respect each other in their own particular ways.
  • The knowledge of the Horadrim certainly caught the attention of Saddler and the remaining member of said group, Deckard Cain, became a prime target for Los Iluminados but they never expect the frail old man to be so slippery and hard to catch. Deckard was reminded of the Coven that ended his life back in Sanctuary when he had a close encounter with a few Ganados and even met Saddler personally after he tried to sweet-talk him into surrendering, the similar voices only made their emnity much stronger because Saddler was a very vile man in his eyes but he has managed to elude capture and even get help from some of the GUAG forces to push the cult after him away.
  • The Tactical Dolls have often been seen hunting and eliminating a few of the members of Los Iluminados not only because they were contracted to fight against them, but also doing them by their own volition given that the cult reminds them of one of their enemy factions, the Paradeus cult. Saddler has found their resistance kind of amusing to say the least but he won't admit they have been a huge thorn in his side for a while but he only has openly voiced his distaste for the American members of said group, only angering their fellow T-Dolls in their process.
  • While Xenomorphs aren't quite like Las Plagas and potentially more dangerous, the cult has tried to find a way to gain control of a few of them in order to experiment with a potential Xenomorph/Plaga creature. Some believe the existance of Verdugo, the two bodyguards of Salazar and how similar they behave to Xenomorphs might make some believes that at the least, Los Iluminados are capable of creating similarly dangerous creatures.
  • Las Plagas are weak to sunlight, so it's only fair that the cult would try their best to limit any type of sunlight in the Pantheon in order to operate unopposed. Deities related to light and sun have been made several attempts to terminate all Las Plagas in order to prevent a potential outbreak but the numbers Los Iluminados have never seem to slow down or decrease. That said, they are aware that there are modified plagas that can function under sunlight, but are still weak towards strong light sources like flashbangs.

  • Lobotomy Corporation was one of the 26 Wings of the World that governed the City and its inhabitants. The main branch’s facility is divided into departments, each one managed by a different AI known as a Sephirah. While they do their jobs well enough, their personalities are all dysfunctional in some shape or form. As the Manager would find out, their connection with the Sephirot goes far deeper than just working at the same company. Save for Angela, the Sephirot are not true AI — they’re people he was familiar with in life as Ayin before L Corp was formed, resurrected as machines leading the different sectors where he would eventually make peace with after their Meltdowns during the time loop and fulfilling their ultimate goal of curing mankind’s “disease”.
    • Thinking they’d finally be laid to rest after shining the Seed of Light across the City and L Corp is dissolved, Angela rose up and tried to hijack it for herself. After a long battle, the two sides decided to strike a deal in which Angela would create the Library. Here, they’d be brought back and serve as Patron Librarians and help receive Guests while they hope to complete the project they bled and died for. Despite their agreement, they (barring Binah) aren't thrilled to throw human life away again and are very vocal about it even as the Library grows and rises in threat level, though thankfully Angela would eventually have a change of heart and restart the Seed of Light after all.
  • Their ascension came at the result of X putting a good word about them to the Court of Gods and they ended up filing them under Kabbalah due to how their personalities and stories heavily draw from it, current names aside. Around the same time, Netzach and his Librarians ended up stumbling into the Pantheon through the same way Angela and Roland did the first time around while trying to evade work again. Many of his fellow Librarians tried tracking them down and ended up finding about the said door thanks to Angela after teleporting the Patron of Art and his assistants didn't work. Sure enough, after some digging and being welcomed by the Pantheon they found Netzach and his crew piss drunk in the Hall of Alcohol.
  • The general reaction to Ayin, who's now a separate entity to X, is complicated. Ayin was responsible for pushing many of them into a breakdown back when they were Sephirah, and many were directly wronged by him as humans before that. On the other hand, part of the purpose of L Corp's time enclosed space was to make amends with them and help them with their problems prior to their deaths. The sole exceptions to this are Binah, a former enemy who came to respect Ayin for his perseverance and believes they're quite alike, and Hokma, who remains loyal to his dearest colleague and friend. On the other hand, Ayin and X are glad they (excluding Binah) are doing well in their continued lives as librarians.
    • Then there's getting to the fact that L Corp is once more operational, managing and housing monsters that are mostly manufactured from humans, and the brutality of L Corp proved to be no different to any of the other Wings even if the end goal was for a good cause. At the very least, many of them can take solace in the fact that the conditions are far better in the Pantheon than in the City.
  • Like Angela and Roland they would be joined by the Assistant Librarians, former agents of L Corp’s main branch, to serve as their Heralds. They mainly helped assist the Patron Librarians in receiving Guests though after Angela’s change of heart they no longer do that. In the Pantheon, they are usually either on their off time or running errands for their bosses and during their first day they wasted no time in taking some time off after everything happened. They also frequently hand around L Corp's employees, mainly the senior members who didn't end up joining them as Assistant Librarians.
    • Contrasting the Head Librarian and Grade 9 Fixer, however, the group would be joined by another Herald: Tiphereth B aka Enoch. Having suffered breakdowns and restarts that became more frequent over time he was eventually put to rest by the time L Corp went under. Everyone else chose to leave them alone as Tiphereth A/Lisa tearfully reunited with her dearest companion.
  • Their surprise regarding a still-functional L Corp didn't end there. Like Angela and Roland, many were alarmed to find that in addition to Abnormalities that ascended alongside L Corp some have already made their stay in the Pantheon as full-fledged deities themselves. Thankfully, they're not left unmonitored as both L Corp and the SCP Foundation have taken the necessary measures regarding them. The latter is even more geared toward containing entities like them rather than actively creating more of them to exploit and they ended up placing the Patron Librarians under observation as well due to their current affiliation with Angela and her Library. Part of the SCP Foundation's involvement stems from keeping Groups of Interest such as the Global Occult Coalition and Chaos Insurgency at bay. Curiously, they've learned from Angela and Roland that all Librarians are able to draw power from the Abnormalities of their respective floors, including E.G.O., as though they were still within the Library. While they can't wield it as freely as L Corp's Agents do, it's still a massive boon and something their enemies should look out for.
  • And speaking of enemies, being the denizens of Angela's Library, they naturally also share many of the enemies she made in the Pantheon. Having lived under the rule of the Heads of the World they oppose the likes of Big Brother, O’Brien, and The Libertines. They tried appealing to the likes of Binah given her former status as an Arbiter of the Head though their requests fell on deaf ears. Having experience with music-themed Abnormalities such as Singing Machine and Silent Orchestra, as well has having fought against the Musicians of Bremen and later the Reverberation Ensemble they are also not too fond of the Dazzlings, the Music Meister, Courtney Gears, the Necrodancer, and the Golden Lute.
  • Malkuth only:
    • The cheerful and passionate Patron Librarian of History and former Sephirah Head of the Control Team. She was once an impatient, clumsy but otherwise unremarkable woman named Elijah whose desperate desire to prove herself lead to her death to Cogito after a private experiment went horrifically wrong. Reborn as Malkuth, she retained the earnest desire of her previous life which led to her pushing the employees under her care to their absolute limit. Following her Meltdown, however, began to move past her desire for validation in favor of standing on her own two feet instead. While Malkuth is still as bright and hardworking as ever, she takes care to be more reflective of the past after becoming a Librarian. Her eventual confrontation with Angela over the AI refusing to look back would instigate a freakout not too dissimilar to what the Sephirot went through, a first in what would be recurring event but also the beginning of Angela changing for the better.
    • She relates to Mikuru Asahina and Sumia as they're similarly clumsy people like her previous self. Meanwhile the two pity the fact that clumsiness was what got her killed. By her third try at life Malkuth is no longer the clumsy and unorganized person she once was as Elijah, for the most part. The two have kept their silence about the time Malkuth chucked a sword through someone's window while showing off her swordsmanship to them.
    • One dream of hers that she picked up during her time as a Librarian was becoming an architect after she got outside. Her reasoning was that Elijah worked hard to get people to acknowledge the world's many different "colors" while her peers were stuck only looking at the "black and white things" of the world, so to speak, and have long lost their focus in life. Thus, Malkuth would like to create memorable buildings that would leave an impression on future generations and change that. Since entering the Pantheon she has spent her free time in the House of Craft studying up on the various architecture and in one of those days she ended up crossing paths with John Stewart, a Green Lantern of Sector 2814. Malkuth ended up being one of the people who have studied under him thanks to his education in architecture, something John was happy to provide and help her out. She's quite impressed he is able to apply his knowledge to his Hard Light constructs.
    • One of the Abnormalities on the Floor of History is Scorched Girl, an Abnormality based on the Little Match Girl. The story is largely the same with her save for the ending where the entity actually burned to death and came back as a hateful specter who combusts when upset. The original girl instead dreamed of a happier life while she perished in the cold. Given the Scorched Girl's symbolism of abandonment present in both Malkuth and Angela's story, the former naturally connected to her and is one of many goods who look after the girl's continued life in the Pantheon. Coincidentally enough, the little girl's preferred name is actually Angela.
    • "It feels good to finally have the time to reflect on myself. Looking back at the lives I lived and the history I made. I think we didn’t spend enough time looking back. We were all too busy heading forward.”
  • Yesod only:
    • The calm, orderly, and professional Patron Librarian of Technological Sciences who was once the head of the Information Team. His past life as Gabriel was much the same, but something about him changed after Elijah’s death. While he bottled up his emotions his guilt surrounding her demise it quickly became an obsession with safety and he clawed himself to death in his insanity. As Yesod, his cold demeanor earned him the reputation of being a heartless Sephirah but it couldn’t be any farther from the truth. Following his Meltdown, Yesod allows himself to be more expressive without having to compromise his judgment and it is best shown with his disdain for Angela’s plans with the Library and her emphasis on the results rather than the process.
    • Spock and Yuki Nagato share similar stoic and logic demeanors to Yesod. The former can sometimes come off as ruthless in his decisions at times for the sake of his crew though he is in agreement with Yesod that logic isn't everything. While the state of the world Yesod hails from is utterly shocking to them, they (particularly Yuki) do find fascination in his findings and inputs that he gathered regarding the Technological Sciences of the City. Likewise, he's also interested in the many different technologies the Pantheon has in store as it is proof that such things don't necessitate the suffering of other people like the City's tech.
    • 2B related to Yesod over failing to maintain one's composure as she actively tried to suppress her own humanity only to consistently fail as she can't help but feel other people. This is especially grueling for her in the case of 9S as she was assigned to kill him should he dig too deep and has done so many times in the past but in the process, she ended up getting close to him as well. The YoRHa android's struggles with her own humanity and cycles of death reminded him of Angela's own turmoil back in L Corp. Meanwhile, becoming expressive overtime was something the likes of Byleth Eisner and Rei Ayanami were able to relate to Yesod over. Though, in their case they started out emotionless before learning to become more expressive overtime.
    • Befitting his serious nature, Yesod puts a heavy emphasis on tidiness though it's not nearly to an unhealthy degree back when he was Gabriel. This includes the state of one's clothing and will bring it up to those who meet with him. Occasionally, he'll talk about implementing a penalty point system regarding how one dresses themselves for gods who he will often see and work with, but he's just joking.
    • “We live in a world where everything changes constantly. It is not necessarily rational or wise to blindly follow a goal determined in the past. To keep up with the rapid changes this world goes through, we must maintain discretion at all times.”
  • Hod only:
    • Empathetic, demure, and overall, very approachable all describes the Patron Librarian of Literature who used to lead the Training Team in L Corp. Michelle was a young and timid girl in Carmen’s circle of followers. While bold to leave her Nest life behind, Michelle became increasingly disturbed by the deaths of her fellow colleagues and eventually reported what she saw to the Head, who proceeded to send an Arbiter to destroy the lab, and she hung herself from the guilt. As Hod, she saw her second life as a chance to make up for what she has done, but it was partly driven to assure she’s a good person. Her overbearing will to help had mixed results, and her lack of appreciation for it led to her Meltdown. After that, Hod came to a realization about her selfishness and vowed to be more genuine in her attempts from that point onward. Despite her grievances, Hod couldn’t bring herself to hate Angela believing she had her own reasons and sorrows to do so and believes she’s capable of becoming a good person in the end as well (which would be proven right, though it would be a long journey beforehand).
    • The act of atoning for one's actions in an effort to become a better person is something many can relate to. As far as Hod is concerned she has a lot to atone for given how she helped set things in motion, and she isn't alone when it comes to this. Hod relates to the likes of Siegfried Schtauffen, Omni-Man, Sasuke Uchiha, Hal Jordan, and Zuko all underwent journeys to better themselves and tend to talk with them often, though she admits Omni-Man and Sasuke intimidate her somewhat. Still, Omni-Man's son Mark has put in a good word for his sincerity, and she knows Sasuke is on good terms with both Angela and Roland. Even without that, however, she's willing to give them a chance regardless.
      • Sol Badguy seeks to hunt down the Gears as atonement for their creation, something she connects to L Corp inadvertently instigating the Distortion Phenomenon. While she'd like to meet him, and even knows he's not that bad of a guy, Hod respects his desire to be left alone and keeps her distance.
    • While Hoxton’s hatred for rats and traitors is well-known, he oddly hasn’t pulled anything big against Hod. Perhaps it’s because the circumstances regarding his experiences with whistleblowers are different compared to Hod’s and as such hasn’t targeted her. That, or it could be he doesn’t want to risk agitating the rest of her group, special mention going to Gebura.
    • Ever since she became a Librarian she began holding a book club with the assistants on her floor which began as a way healthily vent out her personal feelings. Since her arrival to the Pantheon, she began extending its members beyond that of the Librarians. She and her group tend to frequent the House of Narrative for this reason and she shares Angela's fascination for the many different stories the Pantheon has to offer.
    • “Everyone has their own stories. Even if someone is committing bad things right now... I don’t want to judge them based on solely the snippets I see of them. So I try to understand them in depth.”
  • Netzach only:
    • The lethargic and impassive Patron Librarian of Art and former Sephirah Head of the Safety Team. His original self, Giovanni, was an orphan who grew up in K Corp’s Nest and was a childhood friend to Carmen. He kept to himself for the most part, but he ended up volunteering for an experiment that was said to save the life of Carmen. In reality, it was to test Cogito’s dosage and his “noble sacrifice” amounted to nothing. Waking up as Netzach, he hated his job because he saw no point in trying to save the employees and mainly drank and took Enkephalin to pass the time. After his attempt at overdosing failed, Netzach took a step back and began to hold onto a bit of hope for the future and push through the pain to continue living. While Angela’s sabotage of the Seed of Light did little wonders for his mood, he still took what he learned back then to heart like everyone else and retained his appreciation for life and courage to live through many more tomorrows.
    • During his drunken incident around the Librarians' ascension he managed to acquire a number of drinking buddies that he tends to hang around often besides Roland and Gebura, though they join in on their adventures as well. These include the likes of Barney Grumble, Captain Haddock, Cana Alberona, and Drinky Crow. Thanks to them, Netzach has also tends to stop by several of the Pantheon's many taverns and bars. Technically, he could just make alcohol with the Library's Light but he'd have an easier time ducking out of his responsibilities if he's out drinking.
    • The Pantheon is home to many different types of people, including slackers and other lazybones and some of whom can match or even surpass Netzach's own indolence. Robbie Rotten and Belphegor are very serious about being lazy, something Netzach admits is a bit much, though has opted to just shrug and let them do their thing. He can't say the same for Merak, however, as he's appalled by his callousness towards anyone that isn't himself. Tanaka-kun is a perpetually listless schoolkid who has built a way of life around it, though he doesn't always think highly of it. Tanaka pities the circumstances Netz went through though he's glad he regained his spark. And while Netz finds Sans' pranks bothersome at times, he does find him to be a good guy to be around. It helps they do share a distaste for killing.
    • Having tossed away his well-being in both his first and second lives Netz had made sure to care of himself more on his third try. While his alcoholism may suggest otherwise, he does pace himself compared to when he was a Sephirah, and its more-so for fun than to drown his sorrows and he quit Enkephalin completely. He was able to relate to Tactical Doll Thunder quite a lot because of this as she went through an abusive past and had no issues quietly fading way until she became friends with M950A, a fellow T-Doll who was otherwise her opposite but nonetheless managed to reach out to her. Its thanks to her that Thunder changed her outlook for the better.
    • Fittingly enough he has a dream of becoming an artist himself if he was granted another chance in life, something that he picked up during his time as a Librarian. During the times he decides to stay sober and not laze around he has gravitated to the House of Craft to practice seeing as how his wish was sort of granted in the Pantheon. Kyle Rayner, being a painter himself, was among the first to help him get started and introduced Netz to others with similar crafts such as Yusuke Kitagawa, Adeleine, and Marianne. Yusuke, who opposes L Corp with the rest of the Phantom Thieves, was apprehensive at interacting with the librarian. Of course, Netzach made it explicitly clear that the Librarians as a whole are very much aware of the severity regarding their past actions and generally are not proud of them, even if it the end goal was to cure humanity.
      • While on the subject of art, Netzach is very vocal for his distaste for the kind of art that involves harming people be it oneself or others, even if he admits he may not have the best say when it comes to his past. In particular, he finds the teachings of Terence Fletcher a particular brand of disgusting as he isn't keen on abusing students to make them improve. Even if it does produce results, sugarcoating pain as anything but what it has no value or beauty to it, especially since Terence is ultimately a Glory Hound. Naturally, Fletcher took the time to hurl a bunch of insults and slurs against the librarian though Netzach barely, if at all, reacted to them. The most he got out of him was a disappointed sigh and a reaffirmation that he honestly despises that kind of art.
    • “Whatever you might be feeling right now, don’t just throw it away. Life goes on, after all. We all deserve to turn to the next chapter of our lives. So try to believe that there’s always gonna be an upcoming page to what you might be thinking is the end. Simply living out your life can be its own work of art.”
  • Tiphereth only:
    • The blunt and direct kid with a sharp tongue who serves as the Patron Librarian of Natural Sciences, formerly one of the dual Sephirot of the Central Command Team. In life, she was a little girl named Lisa who was always by the side of a boy named Enoch. They lived in the Outskirts together until a Fixer named Kali brought them to Carmen’s lab. Enoch was idealistic and wise for his age and volunteered for an experiment in Carmen’s stead that got him killed and Lisa cursed Carmen for it. She herself would be killed by the Arbiter’s attack on their facility in the Outskirts but she and Enoch would be resurrected as the Sephirah Tiphereth. While they handled their roles well, Tiphereth B/Enoch was prone to breaking which led to him being disposed of and replaced. Having to relive his death over and over again leads to Tiphereth A/Lisa breaking down. Following that, she admits that she held no expectations for the future as he did and was seriously bitter over not being able to see things the way he did. Starting now, however, Tiphereth would begin to hold onto the idea that things could get better next time and there's something to be found after going through so much pain.
    • With Tipherth B/Enoch alive and healthy in the Pantheon Tiphereth A/Lisa has taken the opportunity to talk about the things she witnesses while he was gone. Enoch is proud of the fact she became idealistic like him. Their connection to one another is often compared to the twins Devola and Popola, right down to the despair the surviving one suffered with their counterpart's demise. It helps that they're both involved in a project to help humanity that, unfortunately, was foiled. Both Tiphereth A and B are fond of listening to the two sisters sing from time to time.
    • Within the Trope Pantheons the gods come from all walks of life, even from places as desolate as the Outskirts that Tiphereth is familiar with. Chito and Yuuri are one such example as they scavenge a devastated world with no-one but themselves to keep each other company. By sheer luck Tiphereth managed to catch the two scavenging some ruins and ended up giving away Chito some books before parting ways.
    • Her Floor of Natural Sciences contains four Magical Girl Abnormalities (and one ambiguous entity connected to them) of whom she draws power from after suppressing them within their books. The Pantheon has many magical girls among their ranks, enough to even form an entire organization, though many are hesitant to meet her given their general opinion on L Corp housing the Abnormalities and Tiph can understand the existence of such entities may not all be that flattering to them. Still, there were exceptions:
      • Koyuki Himekawa, known more by her alias of Snow White, wanted to look more into those specific Abnormalities given her reputation of hunting rogue Magical Girls. While Snow White is ruthless in her methods, she would never resort to killing and is uncomfortable at the way human life was trampled in L Corp and in the Library though, the circumstances regarding both put them in a gray area. She does acknowledge that Tiphereth isn’t a terrible person, a rather idealistic one despite everything she went through, and has kept in contact with her if only to better monitor the magical girl Abnormalities.
      • During a walk home Hibiki Tachibana managed to cross paths with Tiphereth whose head was deep in mountains of books and papers. Hibiki’s intention was to reach out to Tiph after hearing about L Corp since their whole M.O. reminded her of Saint-Germain. Their first meeting went terribly as the Symphogear user tipped some stacks of books over and she had to endure an earful from Tiph. The following meetings went a lot better as they properly talked about each other’s experiences. Hibiki teared up at the kind of lives Tiph went through though the librarian told her not to sweat it. Meanwhile, Tiphereth is impressed by Hibiki’s tenacity to reach out and understand other people.
    • “It’s expectations that give us the strength to push through hardship... That we can trust things to become better tomorrow. That my life holds possibilities and significance that could make this world a better place.”
  • Gebura only:
    • The usual ways to describe the Patron Librarian of Language and former head of the Disciplinary Team are as follows: Reliable, to the point, serious, and somewhat hot-blooded. Kali grew up in the Backstreets of District 23, a part of the City infamous for cannibalism. She got used to the ever-present brutality there and took up Fixer work to get by and try and protect the people who didn’t disappear so soon. Sometime before becoming the Red Mist she overheard Carmen giving one of her many speeches in the Backstreets and ended up following her because her instincts told her she wasn’t any other hack or swindler. Even someone as strong as Kali could not elude death as she gave her life trying to defend the facility from rampaging Abnormalities, two Claws, and an Arbiter. Her failure to protect everyone manifested as an ever-burning hatred for Abnormalities which almost lead to the Sephirah leveling the company in her Meltdown. She soon calmed down upon recalling she didn’t completely fail to protect everyone and became far more cool-headed and tempered which carried over while becoming a Librarian.
    • Given her background, don't expect her to be all that fond of anyone who indulges in cannibalism. While the Pantheon as a whole is far from being as horrible as the City even it is not without its dark sides. The Sweepers being ascended gods are one thing, but the Hall of Flesh Eaters is another. While not all the deities there are actively malicious, but they're few and far between. Though her career as a Fixer ended with Kali's death at the hands of Garion, she will continue to protect others if the need arises, and the gods of that House were made aware of this after seeing Gebura overpowering some of their members on several occasions.
    • She is said to be one of the most proficient wielders of E.G.O., a feat few can genuinely match. Not only was she able to proficiently wield a low-purity version of Nothing There's E.G.O. Mimicry, Kali also was able to manifest a full suit of misty armor way before the Seed of Light was planted. As Gebura, her skills have dulled and even after regaining her strength from the defeat of a simulated version of Kali her strength still isn't quite the same.
      • Many of the ascended Soul Series gods and goddesses note Mimicry's similarities to the demonic weapon known as Soul Edge. Given the infamy of it and its wielder, Nightmare, this isn't a flattering comparison to be made and they're often cautious around her. Gebura admits their apprehension towards her isn't totally unfounded: Anyone who wields the E.G.O. of another risk losing themselves to its shell, herself included as Kali began to doubt herself after hearing the sword's mumblings before awaking her own E.G.O. Still, there's no malice between many of the good deities and Gebura is staunchly opposed to Nightmare as well as Soul Calibur as Gebura doesn't agree with the world it seeks to impose.
    • Shirou Emiya sought Gebura out after hearing of her reputation as a Backstreets hero when she was Kali given his own heroic ideals, he once held close. Gebura brushed her old reputation aside, saying she can't really describe what that's like, and she's only seen as a hero in other people's eyes. Though, in her opinion she thinks he did the right thing in choosing to protect those he cares about to save Sakura Matou. At one point, Shirou expressed interest in replicating Mimicry which after some deliberation Gebura ultimately accepted. After heading out to the House of Fighting and Combat, Shirou managed to summon a copy of Gebura's favorite E.G.O. weapon and try it out. The Mimicry that Gebura wields is of low purity compared to the ones L Corp's agents use, and though everyone becomes an Instant Expert with E.G.O. he was able to use it astonishingly well.
    • Overcoming her anger was what allowed Gebura to change for the better, and it would be the lesson she would pass onto Roland which would stick as he'd put aside his vengeful wrath and ultimately forgive Angela. As such, she gets along with Tom Lucitor and Domon Kasshu as they went through similar instances of reigning their anger either to improve one's characters or to fight to one's greatest potential. Tom pities the circumstances that led to Gebura festering such anger and can't imagine what it'd feel like in her perspective.
    • “I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel any anger or regret. Even though I couldn’t protect everyone, I saved the ones I could.”
  • Chesed only:
    • Probably the most casual and social of his group, whether as the Patron Library of Social Sciences or the Sephirah Head of the Welfare Team. He was a member of the upper-class named Daniel who had the intelligence and skill to pursue whatever future he wanted but his path would lead to him being among Carmen’s supporters. His life would come to an abrupt end at the hands of an Arbiter, who would intimidate him into releasing the Abnormalities on site. As Chesed, he started off eager to work in L Corp but would soon be broken into becoming into the laidback Sephirah directly under Angela’s thumb. After his attempt at rebellion is foiled during his Meltdown, Chesed chooses to not let his guilt and shame control him while he stops running away from the future and work towards making it better. While Angela foiling the Seed of Light and becoming a Librarian under her wing is unfortunate, Chesed is calm and relaxed as ever with the added caveat of being genuinely optimistic this time around. His somewhat playful attitude can (deliberately) get on people’s nerves, Gebura being his usual target, but it's all in good faith and is a genuinely nice person.
    • Dominic Cobb was another person overwhelmed with guilt, in his wits over driving his wife Mal to suicide. Said guilt manifested as a wraith resembling Mal that stalked Cobb and jeopardized the team's mission of infiltrating and implanting an inception in Robert Fischer's mind. Pretty heavy stuff overall, though Chesed is unsure what to make of the caper and his crew though the idea of diving into people's minds intrigues him somewhat.
    • His drink of choice will always be coffee if the mug on his hand wasn't a big enough indication already. One of the things Daniel asked on his first day in Carmen’s lab was to install a coffee machine so everyone on site could enjoy a cup while working. Chesed's love for the drink allowed him to befriend Godot, Pandemonica, and Jack Atlas. For Godot, they connected to their shared inability to let go of the past and being controlled by the guilt stemming from it. As for Pandemonica, while is she an actual sadistic demon he’s used to ticking off Gebura every now and then. More importantly, however, Pandemoinca chooses not to bring harm towards Chesed because the coffee he brews is just that good and is in a far more pleasant mood as a result. Lastly, for Jack Atlas they bonded for their shared preference for expensive coffee blends (Blue-Eyes Mountain coffee for the Jack), though the latter's love for it also wrecks his budget. Hanging around Chesed has alleviated his careless spending, if only a little bit.
    • The Abnormalities present on his section, the Floor of Social Sciences, are themed after The Wonderful Wizard of Oz including not only twisted versions of the Oz Gang, but also a deposed Princess Ozma and a malevolent Wizard of Oz. The actual Oz gang have already voiced their discomfort regarding their counterparts, something Chesed notes and sympathizes with, and they Chesed to be a pleasant guy to be around. He himself has promised to help them out if he can, be it problems involving their counterparts making a ruckus to more mundane ones.
    • “Maybe we can’t change the things considered normal right away. Even then, we’ll know shame at the very least. Simply knowing shame in this society will change a lot of things.”
  • Binah only:
    • Enigmatic, ominous, and insightful are perhaps the biggest descriptors when describing the Patron of Philosophy and former Sephirah of the Extraction Team. Garion wasn’t a part of Carmen’s circle, but an Arbiter sent to eradicate them and their lab. Thanks to the Red Mist incapacitating her, Ayin was able to probe her mind of the information needed to elude the Head’s wrath before converting her as a Sephirah in charge of the Well. As Binah, she despised Ayin for the torture she currently endures and found it laughable he stuck himself in the same hell to achieve some lofty goal. Her tune would change after witnessing his perseverance firsthand and became more supportive of his goals of breaking the cycle of the City. While she would willingly assist Angela’s rebellion, she still speaks of him highly and encourages those to be more open-minded about him. By the time she became a Librarian, she is genuinely courteous and personable compared to the unrepentant sadist she once was. Not only would she provide Roland the final lesson that would push him to spare Angela, Binah would also save Roland and Gebura from the Head’s agents and assists in defending Angela from them by the end.
    • Being a former agent of the Head herself, Binah has a natural interest in those held similar positions. Nagato and Obito Uchiha piqued her intrigue for this very reason, and it only grew after hearing of the influences they had in their own world as well as their respective redemptions before perishing. She wishes only to converse with them for a while though no such opportunity has presented itself just yet.
    • Whether as an Arbiter or a Sephirot her drink of choice will always be tea, specifically black tea. Since entering the Pantheon she can be found enjoying at various places, though given her reputation people tend to have second thoughts about joining her. For a while, the only people who did were the other Patron Librarians, Angela, and her own assistants. In time, however, other gods would begin to entertain that notion. Byleth Eisner and Uncle Iroh were among the first to do so and is fond of them for that very reason. Thanks to the latter, Binah and her assistant Librarians stop by the Jasmine Dragon every now and then (though Binah only ever orders one blend).
      • The Mad Hatter and Alice of the Blood Team enjoy tea too though they're quite cautious around her even after she makes her intentions clear. At the very least, Binah's presence keeps Jervis Tetch at bay, who before had plans on making the Blood Team member "his" Alice at all costs. With the former Arbiter around, however, he doesn't take any chances to incur her wrath. Arbiter she may no longer be, she still has the tools signature to such feared figures in the City and Binah retains that sadistic satisfaction over the crumbling and the dying.
    • "Do you want to know I could be so cruel? People live with their own anxieties. It is a natural price one must pay for confronting the unknown. However, I did not accept that anxiety, that fear. I devoured them to survive in this world. That was the first and final sin I have committed. I have no regrets about it. It was for survival."
  • Hokma only:
    • The Patron Librarian of Religion and previous head of the Records Team is solemn, wise, and steadfast. Benjamin, also known as B, was Ayin and Carmen’s closest confidant. As the other survivor of the Arbiter’s attack on their hideout, he was responsible for kickstarting the Smoke War to found L Corp and assisted in creating Angela. Loyal as he was, though, he ended up becoming disillusioned by Ayin and left him. However, he would eventually come back to try and get Ayin to leave everything behind, but he would be killed and converted into a Sephirah through Ayin’s orders. Now known as Hokma, his only solace then was spending time with Ayin along with their other deceased loved ones but eventually relented after his Meltdown. He is perhaps left the most bitter by Angela thwarting the Seed of Light but even with his current abrasive attitude he still took the time to point out that deep down she also cared about the Sephirot, and she doesn’t need to heed Carmen’s advice anymore. This would serve as the final lesson that would allow her to finally back down from her goals.
    • Since entering the Pantheon he has checked up on both Ayin and X the most and is actively concerned with their wellbeing. His utmost loyalty and faith in Ayin cannot be understated, and it is such a defining quality of his that he's well-known in the House of Loyalty and Servitude. How one views Hokma depends on how one views Ayin though given the general consensus it points to a more negative outlook. And speaking of, though he admits Ayin isn't perfect and wasn't afraid to dirty his hands in evil, speaking ill of him and his work is still a good way to get on the Librarian's nerves.
    • Hokma has strong associations with time. He once presided over L Corp's TT2 Protocol owing to his previous position, and one of the Abnormalities present in the Floor of Religion is the Price of Silence, an entity taking the form of a scythe-shaped clock/lamppost with a staggering control over time and death. The House of Time and Temporality interests him for this very reason, and he's in awe of how freely other deities can manipulate time seeing as it's something not even T Corp can do perfectly.
    • Taking account TT2, along with "recording" the employees so they could be brought back as "newly hired workers", contributed to his belief that life and death held no meaning in L Corp's main branch. Such a thing became a topic of conversation with the Death that Antonius Block was familiar with when the librarian ended up getting roped into a chess game against him. Hokma expected that he thought he'd be more hostile to him considering how he once handled life and death though his opponent explained that isn't from his world, so he has no authority there. In addition, can one truly say the agents are truly revived in both instances? Hokma ultimately lost the match but did decent for someone who hasn't dabbled in the game throughout his three lives and left on good terms with Death and comes back to converse with him every now and then.
    • “You must accept the death of the past, and reinvigorate yourself as you head toward the future, so that you may live on. No matter what conflicts, agonies, and regrets you may face in that process... You have to grow onward while facing the future and be born again.”

    Azulín and Gordi
Azulin and Gordi, Co-Gods of Religious Animals

  • Symbol: The Sacred Book, alternatively his mask (Azulin). A bow and a heart-shaped arrow (Gordi)
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil, thinks of himself as Lawful Good (Azulín), Neutral Good (Gordi).
  • Portfolio: Believed in a Religion of Bears and Unicorns, Cain and Abel.
  • Domains: Animals, Religion, Siblings, Bears Hatred, War
  • Herald: María (Gordí)
  • Allies:
  • Enemies: Each other, each other's allies, The Houyhnhnms
  • Opposed by: Chirin, Ford Pines, Mabel Pines (Azulin)
  • Oppose: The Perverted Unicorn (both)
  • Gordi and Azulín were a pair of anthropomorphic bear brothers who lived in a small town near a magical forest, according to their town's religion, the bears once were unintelligent wild animals that eventually were given sapience by the God of the world through a sacred book in a church that was placed in the middle of the forest; however the jealous unicorns that also inhabited the forest didn't approve of the bears and drove them out motivating the future generations to fight and eventually wipe out the unicorns to reclaim their land. Gordi and Azulin joined a special squadron to fight in the war, with Azulin making his brother miserable at all turns and gradually being driven to insanity by his sociopathy and obsession with being the hero of the story as he read that the sacred book of the bears' religion indicated the legend of a "Chosen One" that would guide the bears to victory. After most of their comrades perished in battle, Azulin and Gordi had a falling out with Gordi ending up lost and in unicorn territory where contrary to what he'd been raised to believe turned out to be a friendly place where he made peace with his former religious enemies; meanwhile, Azulin was injured but found and healed and was made into the figurehead of the war efforts, leading to him rising in the ranks and eventually taking over as the supreme commander to use his newfound power to lead a mass assault on the forest, destroying it and all the unicorns at the cost of all bears but him perishing in the process. When he reunited with Gordi, despite his prior grief and regret, he was filled with rage when Gordi revealed himself to have befriended a unicorn foal, Maria, and killed him in cold blood before killing Maria and consuming her flesh to fulfill the prophecy of the Chosen One; but then from Maria's body a monstrous entity emerged and devoured him, his brother's corpse and Maria and took on a humanoid form before marching to take over the now-desolate world.
  • Gordi and Azulin woke up in the Pantheon, Gordi feeling a massive pain in the back of his head from leftover blunt trauma while Azulin felt like he was drowning as he woke up. Once both adjusted their senses back to full lucidity, Azulin thought they were in Heaven and he'd fulfilled his purpose before discovering he was quite not right about it as they were now in a Pantheon filled with various Gods of other worlds. Gordi refused to be within his brother's place any longer and went his separate way as did Azulin, eventually their temple was split for Gordi's safety and ever since the two brothers haven't talked much to each other, though many feel that eventually they'll fight again but hope it's Gordi who ends his brother's life this time around.
  • From the start, Azulín resumed his hatred and genocidal crusade against the unicorns, now targeting those in the Pantheon that he felt were the biggest threats to him. Chief among these deities were the unicorns and alicorns of the My Little Pony world who wield magic that he finds not only demonic in nature but also have a fully-thriving civilization defined by its peace for the most part, which makes him jealous of their rather good lifestyle; despite his hatred of them he does not feel swayed to ally with the majority of their own enemies as they're either ponies or close species themselves or too dangerous to team up with, with the sole exception of Grogar who's sane and different enough from the ponies to be on Azulín's good graces; Grogar has thought of humoring the bear before betraying him as he finds his bloodlust and sheer cruelty of interest but nothing else.
    • Azulin likewise developed loathing for Lady Amalthea and Pegasus by extension, as both equine deities have powers and status which challenge his views on unicorns and his religion's principles, something he doesn't takes well. Amalthea herself feels pity towards Azulin, having heard from Gordi about how he once wasn't as bad (though was never really a good person) but got worse as the indoctrination and his growing sociopathy got the better of him and sank him into full depravity past the point of return. Pegasus himself avoids Azulin and wants nothing to do with him in any way, viewing him as both a lost cause and a monster that never really did anything remotely good.
    • Gordi, on the other hand, befriended the ponies without issue and has taken interest in adopting their ideology of friendship and trust, recalling how his world was doomed by the bears adopting a religious ideology that put killing their enemies above all things, especially how his brother fully absorbed the worst aspects of it in his downwards spiral towards evil. He also met the human, Megan, who came from another world to the ponies' own to help in various adventures; she is glad to hear that despite his upbringing Gordi changed for the better from the good of his heart and has given him some time to take care of pony foals as their babysitter, remembering Gordi's time as the young Maria's caretaker. He also began to help taking care of Unico, a young and friendly pony with a similar view on the world and who too reminded him of Maria, Unico in turn appreciates having another friend though had almost tried to befriend Azulin before Gordi talked him out of it knowing his brother wouldn't have mercy on Unico.
  • A few deities both brothers equally dislike are the Houyhnhnms, horses with contempt towards most things that aren't themselves and a predisposition for being arrogant and self-righteous. Azulin views them as extensions of the unicorns and wants them wiped out to take over their island, while Gordi is abhorred by their isolationist ideas and disdain for humans or other species they consider as bad as the "Yahoos". The Houyhnhnms in turn are not too concerned about the bears themselves but rather fear what Azulin might bring upon them as they were horrified to learn of how Azulin basically caused the apocalypse on his world and led to the rise of what they perceive to be a demonic Yahoo. As such they've taken steps to keep both bears as far away from their temple as possible and also ensure none of their allies can reach their island, for once fearing their kind might in genuine danger.
  • Due to their religions' uncanny parallels to various common religions such as Christianity they've gained some infamy among more religious deities, though that's mostly reserved for the deranged fundamentalist that is Azulin. Primarily among these opposers was Orel Puppington who is a very devoted Christian but was occasionally misguided into some rather nasty acts out of blind obedience before he wound up realizing just how rotten most of his town was in their own devotions and outgrew the worst traits of his religious ideals; while Orel pities Azulin and sympathizes with Gordi for how their mother cheated on their father, he isn't willing to let the former get off easy for the genocide he led and his own killing of his brother just for not siding with him in addition to the long-standing bullying and cruelty Azulin put Gordi through while acting entitled to his brother's love and attention, not unlike Clay's own psychological abuse of him while gaslighting him into obedience.
  • Gordi's idealism and technical pacifism has led to him befriending deities who've also vouched for said kind of ideals or even coexistence as Gordi had achieved with the unicorns he was raised to believe were the enemy. One of these deities was Star Butterfly, as the princess grew up being taught to hate and kill monsters yet found herself sympathizing with them upon finding out her people's revisionism and worked hard to create a kingdom fit for both her kind and monsters alike. Another of these allies was Caesar, the evolved ape having been caught up in a desperate conflict of humanity and apes in which he even had to turn against his brother-in-arms Koba, who was too far gone in his hatred to be saved, but while Gordi was the one to lose in his conflict with Azulín, Caesar triumphed against Koba and achieved a peaceful future for apes, whereas Gordi was too late for any bright future to come before Azulín tore it down, Caesar does greatly sympathize with Gordo due to what he went through and even gave him condolences for his fallen friends and family. While Koba might have some similar ideas to Azulín, he does find his lack of common goals to be a reason not to be interested in forming an alliance with him, instead opting to ignore his existence.
  • While Azulin might have ideals of bear superiority he's willing to team up with non-bears if they are willing to reach some kind of compromise (provided it doesn't screw him over), one of these allies was Napoleon the pig, who loathes equines due to his personal experiences with members of their kind and is interested in Azulin's power-hungry tendencies given his own rise to power. While Napoleon sees the religion he profuses as a possible threat to his influence he nonetheless has thought up of ways of using it as a way to give himself even more power and influence in the greater Pantheon or neutralize how much it can reach out. Azulin also admires Napoleon's ruthlessness and his iron fist rule in which he employed both fear and cunning to keep the show going, while Napoleon in turns shows respect towards Azulin's ruthlessness and unbreakable will in his attempts to destroy the Unicorns and rule the forest.
  • Another deity who had issues with unicorns was Stanford Pines aka the Author of the Journals, but while he might not like unicorns himself even he thinks Azulín and formerly Gordi were way too excessive in their own biases, especially since they were attacking unicorns trying to protect their home; Mabel who also had such a bad run-in with unicorns was similarly disgusted by Azulín's methods and his treatment of his brother. He is glad Gordi has changed his ways but is equally disappointed in Azulín not doing the same and becoming far, far worse. He also laments how their sibling relationship ended in disaster, especially since Gordi still tried to reason with his brother for as long as he could while Azulín mistreated him his entire life out of petty spite.
  • Azulín made an unusual ally in "Big" Jack Horner, primarily because the latter not only has abused and subdued unicorns for his own ends, but also because he seeks to deprive everyone of magic, which would include any and all unicorns in the world. While Jack thinks Azulin is a wee bit too unstable at times, he had not much issue teaming up over their common enemies and also to use him as a sucker pawn in his plans, given that the level of violence and brutality Azulin has led in the past sounded like a very interesting chance for him to exploit for his own ends. In response to this, Gordi came to loathe Jack for his mistreatment of baby unicorns and enslavement of magical beings, while in turn allying with Puss in Boots and Shrek, who gave him a bit more insight on just how wrong the religion that indoctrinated several of his fellow bears into hatred really was.
  • There are a few unicorn deities both Azulin and Gordi are equally wary of, among these is King Sombra, an enemy of the Equestria deities who has tried to enslave the world multiple times which gave both brothers a reason to hate him; Azulin not only hates Sombra out of prejudice due to being a pony and wielding dark magic but also because of him viewing Sombra's power as a threat to any future rule he would try and establish and just in general that his power undermines his self-made image of dread. Another of these unicorns is the perverted nameless Unicorn whose behavior and promiscuity has made Azulin and Gordi alike uncomfortable and prone to try and avoid him any way they can, while Gordi at least tries to be amicable if dismissive whenever they cross paths if only to avoid trouble and a fight he doesn't wants happening, Azulin has at times violently charged and tried to murder the unicorn as retaliation for the slightest unwanted attention, which has made the Unicorn be pretty scared of the blue bear and prone to running for the hills if he so much as spots him in the distance.
  • Interestingly enough, their final fates of Azulin striking down Gordi with a rock makes them their world's counterparts to Cain and Abel. Cain himself is in the Pantheon and was interested to hear more of the two brothers' tale, while Cain is occasionally uncaring about his crimes, he has been more remorseful as of lately and is horrified that something so similar went down on another world but that instead of feeling remorse about the deed, Azulin has just doubled down on his cruelty which soured his view of the psychotic blue bear; he in turn was fond of Gordi for his friendly demeanor and willingness to befriend others and make peace not unlike Abel's peaceful and kind-hearted approach to life.
  • Naughty Bear got along well with Gordi, mainly because he could relate to being singled out and hated by his peers just for being different, though Gordi never went into a rampage out of revenge. He in turn loathed Azulin more than any bear he did prior, not only for murdering Gordi in cold blood but also being the main perpetrator of the bullying Gordi went through yet still being an entitled jerk who demanded full loyalty and love from his brother despite doing nothing to earn even a pat in the back, while Gordi has pleaded time and time again for Naughty Bear not to disembowel Azulin violently, Naughty has made it clear he won't guarantee Azulin will live if he keeps down the path he walks for now.
  • Po is another Weight Woe who suffered as a result of his physical appearance, as the Furious Five and Shifu (and virtually everyone but his father) were initially dismissive and cruel to him for being a fat panda. Gordi's bullying turned to worse and it was perpetrated by his violent brother, which caused Po to greatly sympathetize with him, which Gordi appreciated and was happy to hear how his own tale turned out much better in the end. In turn Azulin resents and envies Po for being a legitimate Chosen One and being praised and loved by his people for who he is rather than for a mask, in one ocassion Azulin tried to kill Po but wisely retreated once the Dragon Warrior easily beat him, ever since he's been thinking of conspiring with Po's foes to take him down in petty revenge.
  • San, being a guardian of a sacred forest, absolutely loathes Azulín for all he's done to the forest of the unicorns and then murdering his brother for not supporting his madness. She on the other hand felt bad for Gordi due to what his brother did to him and for his failed attempts at living in peace with the unicorns and protect Maria from the evil of the other bears' warmongering ways. San's adoptive mother, Moro-No-Kimi, shares her views on the two but especially feels bad for Gordí due to his attempts at salvaging something out of the bear-unicorn war going to Hell real quickly thanks to Azulín's mania.
  • The Tediz got along well with Azulín thanks to their shared views on militarism and supremacy and even finding it admirable how their fellow bear took over the army he once served and turned it into far more of fascist state in order to achieve his goals of dominion. The Tediz have offered to help Azulín to allow him to achieve his goals, viewing eliminating all unicorns as a way to further their conquests by removing powerful magic users from the Pantheon and those who'd dare to defend them. For this, Gordi made enemies with them and even found an unusual ally due to mutual enemies in Conker the Squirrel, while Conker might be a tad too crass and perverted to hang out constantly, he nonetheless appreciates some support to him; in turn Conker thinks of Azulín as a complete nutjob who needs to be stopped before he causes trouble for him.
  • The Care Bears are a group of cuddly and nice-natured bears who strive to teach the values of friendship and care to all. While Gordi was very approving of them, Azulín found them repulsive and too saccharine for his liking, thinking of them as weaklings and less cuter than himself, though they in turn found him too cruel for their own liking and were horrified by what he did to the sacred forest he so much coveted as well as to his fellow bears that he disliked and the unicorns he wished exterminated.
  • Azulín found out about Lotso, another bear who also follows a similar darwinist mindset and lead a tyrannical reign over his fellows (toys in Lotso's case) and was similarly slighted by a parental figure; while Lotso has not much interest in Azulín's agenda, he does at least shows no desire to oppose him after meeting him, understanding his twisted ideals since they are not unlike his own. Another bear on a similar wavelength to Azulín was Fliqpy, the split personality of Flippy, from the Happy Tree Friends who revels in the depravity he sinks to and finds Azulín a kindred soul because of the lengths the blue bear will go to accomplish his goals and be rid of those he dislikes.
  • While Gordi was positively intrigued by Chibi-Usa's relationship with a man, Helios who can shapeshift into a winged unicorn, Azulín was disgusted to no end about it. Gordi got to know more about her, also learning of more people he could befriend while in turn Chibi-Usa came to despise Gordi's brother for his depravity, selfishness and fascistic warmongering ways. The other Sailor Senshi weren't too concerned about what Azulín could do to them but were still nonetheless disapproving of his cruel methods and treatment of his brother

    Hugh Bliss

Hi. I'm Hugh Bliss!

Hugh Bliss, God of Secretly Sinister Religions (Roy G. Biv)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hughbliss_8.png
  • Demigod (Lesser God in his true form)
  • Symbol: His book, Emetics.
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil
  • Portifolio: Religions With Sinister Motives, The True Main Antagonist Of Season 1, Constantly Cheerful And Friendly, Has A High Pitched Voice, A Living Jab At Scientology, Hypnotizes People Into Being Happy, Name Is A Play On "Hubris", Is Really A Sentient Colony Of Space Bacteria
  • Domains: Religion, Twists, Bacteria, Happiness
  • Allies: Nerose Satanael, The Fifth Church, Dr. Screwball Jones, Kaa
  • Enemies: Sam and Max, Most of The Hall of Joy and Happiness, Michael De Santa, Professor X and the X-Men, Foo Fighters
  • The Freelance Police have faced many foes throughout their career, many of which often fall into the more "strange" category. Hugh Bliss, the founder of the religion "Prismatology", falls nicely into that category. At first seeming like the creepy but harmless head of the religion, giving out free books and regularly interacting with Sam and Max, he turned out to be behind every case the duo had faced during the Season, having distributed hypnotic goggles to various fiends and criminals to cause mayhem. His ultimate goal, by the end of the Season, is to hypnotize the world into being as happy as he is. The reason why is simple: he's actually a colony of space-faring bacteria who feeds off of the endorphins produced by happiness, planning to turn Earth into his own eternal feeding ground. Thankfully, Sam and Max managed to take him out, and he was last seen in hell, a bit grumpy that he was killed, but otherwise just as cheerful as before.
  • Even after his death, followers of Prismatology were still around, which is how the Court of the Gods found out about Hugh. One day, one of the members came across a follower, who endlessly preached about how great Prismatology was, and how much of a great guy their leader was. Curious, the gods decided (cautiously, mind) to ask the Freelance Police, Sam and Max, about what this guy was talking about, seeing as it was their world the member was visiting. Sam explained (while Max just got into a fistfight with some criminals) that, from their experience, Prismatology was nothing but a huge scam, used by their leader, Hugh Bliss, in a scheme to Take Over the World. Oh, and Hugh was a sentient colony of space bacteria who feeds off of happiness. That description was enough to accidentally convince the court to ascend Hugh Bliss as the god of Secretly Sinister Religions, plucking the leader out of his cubicle in hell and into the Pantheon, much to the duo's dismay (and Bliss's confusion).
  • As soon as his confusion wore off, which was basically immediately, he quickly begun to set up his religion around the Pantheon, selling merchandise such as his books to people interested in joining. Seeing how the Pantheon is a more fantastical world than his own, he now has no problem with showing off his bacteria form, often just to show off and impress possible members. Of course, he also started secretly selling his hypnotizing goggles to anyone interested in purchasing them, sometimes just sneaking them into random things just to see what would happen. While his cult being secretly evil isn't quite as secret as it was before, thanks to his new title, it still hasn't stopped him from gaining some fans.
  • To say that Sam and Max were pissed beyond belief that Bliss had ascended would be a total lie. The Freelance Police, being what they are, kinda just allow Bliss to do his thing until they're specifically called on to stop him, which to be fair is frequently. If anything, they're actually rather chummy with the guy, usually just chatting with him if they happen to meet up, something that Bliss happily reciprocates. That doesn't mean either party would hesitate to try and kill each other, however.
  • One such group that Bliss discovered was The Fifth Church, a group of similarly silly but dangerous cultists who are also usually Reality Warpers. While outright destroying the world isn't one of Bliss's goals, being more focused on feeding himself, he's still impressed by the fact that they nearly destroyed the world using a self-help book of all things. Helps that Hugh could easily pass as one of their own, acting just as cuckoo as they tend to be. He has since offered them assistance from time to time, something the Church is happy to accept.
  • During an autograph signing he held for his followers, he was approached by something he didn't expect to be talking to: A floating banana with a mustache and a bowtie. Introducing himself as Dr. Screwball Jones, he explains that his goal is to make the entire universe happy whether they like it or not, and has noticed that Bliss shares the same goal as him. As such, he had come to make an alliance with the celebrity. Hugh Bliss, figuring that if a banana asks for an alliance, he can't possibly say no, as well as finding the villain potentially useful, agreed to the alliance, with the two beginning to plot the forced cheerfulness of the universe.
    • Unfortunately, Jones later introduced him to a particularly powerful god who specializes in hypnotic happiness: Nerose Satanael, who seeks to create a Utopia for humanity at the expense of free will. As you can guess, Bliss immediately started on trying to get on the god's good side, and is currently making a worrying amount of progress.
    • Regarding these newfound allies, there something that Bliss neglected to tell them: the fact that he really doesn't care about other peoples happiness, only if it feeds him. While his Affably Evil act is genuine, with him legitimately appreciating the company, he's still motivated only by being fed. He's also wise enough to keep this fact a secret from his allies, as it's clear that their motives are genuinely well-intentioned.
  • Regarding his happiness scheme, he managed to make enemies with the rest of the House of Happiness, almost all of whom are opposed to forced happiness. Wander, surprisingly, is one of the more vocal of the bunch, seeing how his goals match up worryingly well with Jones' own scheme. The fact that he ended up befriending Jones only served to reinforce the fact, and as such, he's more than willing to help others stop him and his schemes. Unikitty is also a notable opposer, as while she can be a bit obsessed with happiness, even she wouldn't go as far as to force it onto people. As such, bringing Hugh Bliss up is a surefire way for Angry Kitty to be unleashed.
  • While Michael De Santa couldn't care less about his grander plans (he acknowledges them as bad, but it's none of his business), he still opposes the cultist for running a cult that's suspiciously similar to The Epsilon Program, a Scam Religion that ripped off Michael in the past, which in response he stole millions of dollars of cash from them. Bliss holding a similar religion really rubs Michael the wrong way. While Bliss is smart enough to keep an eye on Michael just in case, he's really more interested in what Epsilon is, and from what he's learned, it's somehow even nuttier than his (He's still trying to figure out where "Running in a desert for an hour or two" ties into enlightenment).
  • Considering his fondness for hypnotism, he regularly seeks out villains who specialize in this practice so that he can improve it, considering that it can be broken by a single punch. So far, his most notable discovery was Kaa, a snake that specializes in hypnotic eyes so that he could eat his prey more easily. With that in mind, Bliss had promised Kaa that, if he helped him perfect his hypnotic goggles, he could have all the food he wants, something that the snake gladly agreed to. That said, Hugh regularly has to make sure that it's the Disney Version he's talking to, as the original Kaa considers Bliss to be too creepy and sinister to his liking.
  • Notably, he's currently being opposed by Charles Xavier, leader of the X-Men, mostly due to his resemblance to another microorganism foe of his, John Sublime, who, for a time, was singlehandedly responsible for humans fearing mutants, among other things. Seeing how he leads a whole school of super powered teenagers who could easily kick his ass if they wanted to, Bliss has wisely chosen to try and avoid them.
    • On that note, he has also made an enemy in Foo Fighters, a colony of plankton possessing a corpse. Seeing as she's firmly on the side of good, Bliss has easily earned her ire. While Bliss couldn't really care less about her, even if he finds it interesting that other beings like him exist in the Pantheon, what does have him worried is the possibility of her friends getting involved, considering they also had faced a similarly polite man of religion.

  • The history of the Forerunners is a very long and arduous task to catalog and while records of such time period are lacking, the history can still be discovered throughout the galaxy, with all the Forerunner technologies in most planets, often taking mysterious shapes and sizes. It is these technologies that would soon take interest by a certain species, the San'Shyuum or "Worms of Treachery", as objects of worship and soon, their word would become gospel among those who believed in their teachings. With their word spread, many alien species would follow them on such dogmatic ideals, starting from the warrior-race Sangheili, to the lowly Unggoy, all under the banner and promises of godhood. This conglomerate would soon take formation on a more theocratic approach and would become the alliance known as Covenant, all alien species under it would unite under one goal: the fulfillment of the Great Journey, the goal of transcendence, through a Halo ring.
    • While collecting more of the Forerunner artifacts, slowly did some of the San'Shyuum discover that the Forerunner technologies seen have a specific inheritor, of which did not point at them as what their faith made them to believe, but rather, pointing towards another race, human beings. This truth was something that the Prophets would not risk spilling or it would destroy the very foundations of what the Covenant was built upon. With resolve and the utmost importance of safekeeping the truth, the Prophets, spearheaded by the Prophet of Truth, unleashed the Covenant against human forces on their assault at the planet Harvest all while killing anyone within their ranks and those within the alliance who would become threats to their secrets. The glassing of the planet and their transmission soon became the very pillars of one of the largest wars humanity has faced in their entire millennia and at the same time, the seeds to their fall.
  • A slipspace portal once appeared from the very front gates of the Pantheon, with large ships of varying sizes arriving. The first greeting was the destruction of the House of Defense, a signal that alarmed all of the sudden attack. The military might of many armies responded to this sudden surge of otherworldly forces were outmatched, outgunned and overpowered by the massive scale of this threat. However, a man donning green armour and an alien Sangheili with black armour engaged the alliance appeared in the battlefield and the tide of the battle changed, as many of the enemy forces were decimated by the combined teamwork of the two. This forced the threat to retreat into one of the farther spaces of the Pantheon, with the arrival of a large flotilla of a city. The two warriors, who were recognized as the Master Chief and the Arbiter, knew that an old enemy has arrived and that old feuds will have to be settled. The Covenant has arrived, and their will on humanity's destruction is at hand.
  • To understand the Covenant as a whole, one must look into the origins and culture of these species. As they were one of the older species to exist in pre-historic times, often avoiding war and taking pleasures for themselves, their culture would change following their alliance with ancient humanity. With their alliance at a loss against the Forerunners in the ensuing Forerunner-Human Wars, did the culture suddenly take a radical turn of events, as many would leave their pleasures for safety aboard an Ark. With the memories of the Forerunners gone, the species then took reverence into the left behind remains of their technology, often praising it and considering it as relics of the gods. Though not all praises were equal, as two radical factions of San'Shyuum, the conservative Stoics and militaristic progressive Reformists, waged war for a holy Forerunner Dreadnaught. It was to protect the ship from being desecrated to preserve its' holiness or to study it for advanced purposes, that these wars would soon become the very basis of what the next phase of San'Shyuum life would be in the next ages of the galaxy, an age of Conflict, Doubt and Reclamation.
    • Soon after, an aspiring San'Shyuum by the name of Ord Casto, slowly rose to power due to his diligence within the holy city of High Charity. From then on, he discovered a conspiracy from the neighboring Kig-Yar or Jackals about their plans to render the Unggoy or Grunts to be infertile. While he demanded strict punishments, he was ignored and when discovered, the city was in chaos as the Grunt Rebellion took place. After the pacification process, the Age of Doubt began to unfold towards the leadership and in an act of either forgiveness or rash decisions, he was promoted to Minister. Such position would soon become a tool for Ord's rise to Hierarchy as he met another official by the name of Lod Mron, who offered him Forerunner relics for a chance to a position as a Hierarch of the Covenant. This, alongside the meeting of one last member, the Philologist Hod Rumnt, and the sudden reactivation of an AI within the holy city brought them an unfortunate revelation that would soon become the reason for their rise to power.
    • As the Covenant were based on the ideology that they are the rightful inheritors of the Forerunners, the truth Ord, Mron and Rumnt discovered that the San'Shyuum were not the chosen inheritors, but rather, it was humans who were chosen to rule the technologies and safekeep them. Realizing that the organization's basic premise was at risk, the trio would plot a scheme that would not only keep these truths hidden, but to maintain the religion they have learned for years. After blackmailing the prophets at that time, they used a coup to oust the remaining officials, and after being recognized, rose to power and named themselves the Prophets of Truth, Regret and Mercy respectively. As for their first line of action, it was to plot the location of the humans to eradicate them from their path. And while the destruction of the planet Harvest resulted in Covenant victory, another problem rose: Harvest wasn't the only human-occupied planet, as there are thousands. With this in mind, the Prophets all agreed on a full-scale war with humanity, to usher the path of the Great Journey.
    • The Covenant-Human War can be described as a losing battle for the humans, as the Covenant's large numbers, alongside their superior plasma technology, has resulted in terrible casualties for the humans. It wasn't until the discovery of the first Halo ring, Installation 04, that the tides for the Covenant changed. Meeting the Demon, a human clad with green armor, this one person would become the Covenant's most problematic threat able to defeat swaths of Covenant forces with ease, especially after the destruction of said Installation. However, he wasn't the only problem. At the same time, an infestation of the Flood appeared on the installation, and soon after, San'Shyuum and Sangheili relations were at an all time high after the assassination of the Prophet of Regret, leading to the Great Schism, the major turning point of the Covenant, resulting into the Sangheili-Jiralhanae Wars. Subsequent defeat after defeat, from the loss of High Charity and the Prophet of Mercy, to the rising Flood infestation, the Prophet of Truth would make one last effort to continue the Great Journey. The Prophet of Truth would soon meet his demise on the Ark, moments from firing all the Halo arrays, signalling the end of the Covenant.
  • Arrival of the alien threat may have not been a pleasant surprise for many Pantheon members, but moreso for two deities, the Master Chief and the Arbiter, known as Thel 'Vadam. The experience the two had to endure from the first sighting at Installation 04 to the Great Schism was massive and to detail their tales with the Covenant would take days as records of their conflicts are quite numerous. As the Pantheon was expanding, The Arbiter expected that an old foe will soon come against them, not just the Flood but the Covenant at their doorsteps. While it may not be the main organization as a whole, they did not expect that the Prophets themselves would take the helm, making it easier for them, though if the Prophets are present, the Covenant is definitely nearby.
    • Moments after the Covenant made landfall, the Prophets ordered full elimination of all humans present in their vicinity to make way for their newfound home. All the while, the Prophets made meetings within the Court of the Gods, explaining their religion to them. Distraught as the rest of the council laughed at their attempt and giving them a low rank, the Prophets opened fire on the entire Court, and continued their way to prepare for permanent residency. However, they were informed that the Flood have made presence way before their arrival, forcing them to find better ground to avoid getting assimilated again.
The Flood: You will be food; nothing more...
  • Humanity was at the brink of extinction during the Human-Covenant War, and knowing that the leaders arrived, it would make sense when many of Earth's armies mobilized against their arrival, as they are not willing to let that happen again. Diplomatic attempts were suggested by XCOM though the Prophets seem to decline any chance in doing so. Shipmasters and generals such as the likes of Honor Harrington and Commander Shepard have been told to prepare when the Covenant arrives, while others like Samus have been told to prepare for the Prophets' assassination, even considering working with the Master Chief. And the Tenno and Guardians have decided to drop their rivalry to hold off the Covenant's arrival. It makes you wonder why the Prophets never considered actually bringing humans into the Covenant although Truth want to make sure his power and rule is absolute.
  • The Covenant's reputation has been received quite negatively for the most part. Having a rule based solely on dogmatic ideals has been a thing in the past, as said by the guardians of the House of Leadership, stating how the Prophet's wishes of Godhood is nothing more but unrealistic. Truth responded by calling the entire house heretics (which ironically, they are in) while Mercy and Regret called more forces to assault the neighboring temples. It was a mess to clean up as the Covenant proved they are more than just a religious cult. Same with the House of Religion and Faith, who are rather against the Covenant's "Great Journey", criticizing their beliefs that borders on genocide, a prospect that while Regret and Mercy have no idea upon, Truth knows.
    • Things got messier when another theocracy was discovered by Covenant forces, although they were wiped out at a moment's notice. The theocracy in question? The Imperium of Man. The discovery of the San'Shyuum lead to multiple assaults on both guardsmen regiments and space marines which lead a massive blow due to their superior technology. Though the Emperor says he wants nothing to do to a faction that is too connected to dogmatic religion, many point out that the Imperium is solely run on the idea of the Emperor's God-like position, a position that he would kindly wish to get rid off with a new reformation on the way. This also applies with its counterpart, Chaos who are also fundamentalists when it comes to which Chaos God they follow, who are off-putted when the Prophets spoke about how the Great Journey would make them as gods, as they have ascended into godhood already, or so at the very least think in some regard.
    • Then there were the other alien species that were too militaristic for their own good, or had agendas that would never align with their religion, such as the case with the Grineer, and Oryx, who can see suspicion the Prophets would say. Oryx in particular has some interest with them, mainly because the Hive are fundamentalist in thinking, much like how the dogmatic ideals of the Covenant are placed. However, seeing that the San'Shyuum are extremely fragile and very weak, it would make sense for him to reject them and cast them away for their unfit status for Sword Logic. The Prophets did not take this rather kindly and has ordered both Oryx and the Grineer's forces to be destroyed. Then came the Infested, and while records of their first meeting were sparse, some say that the sounds of glassing plasma were heard in one of the Infested's locations.
      • Special mention especially goes for the Corpus, who's MO seems to ring quite well with the Covenant's religion. For one, both praise something either with veneration or with extremism, as well as the belief that they are the next successors of a certain race/empire, which is what the Corpus thinks for their supposed inheritance with the Orokin Empire. A message from the actual founder himself, Parvos has stated how he is in discontent as to what the Corpus has turned itself into, a profit-worship so extreme it almost leans to cult territory. And to him, seeing that the Prophets are almost no better than Nef Anyo especially with their beliefs has him in disgust with the rest of the Covenant. It does not help that the actual faction has issues with how the Prophets see some of the Forerunner technology are treated and have spoken how they would treat the same technology with better care on their helm (read: weapon conversion).
    • Regarding the House of Religion and Faith, many cannot deny how firm and dedicated the Covenant are, and with the word of the Prophets based entirely on their religion, it surprised them how the Covenant did not fall for a long time, hell other humans like Sally Whitemane and Alexander Anderson have respected their devout faith even though it is a lie. Though, the same cannot be said for the trio as they consider the other religions on the house to be heretical and have repeatedly glassed the House on numerous occasions. While they have stopped in favor for more human targets, they have expressed to glass half the portion of the Pantheon if even a single human is in presence.
The Prophet of Truth: You are, all of you, vermin. Cowering in the dirt, thinking... what, I wonder? That you might escape the coming fire? No. Your world will burn until its surface is but glass!
  • Past history of the Protoss shows how much faith they had in the past, hence the terms of zealot and templar, with some sprinkled thoughts of hierarchy, possible Confucianism? However, they have strayed away from the thought of praising their creators or they might tap into the unknown, something demonstrated with the Tal'darim, well until Amon was discovered and they removed their worship of him and the Xel'naga. Nowadays, the hierarchy remains the same, albeit with removed priorities. So to hear that both Artanis and Alarak have opposed the Prophets was a shock among most alien deities, since the duo's relations with each other have not yet gotten any better, but they know that such dogmatic faith often results to galactic damage should it be uncontrolled.
  • It goes to show much faith did the Prophets place among the Covenant that it disgusted Kreia for their lies. Noticing how the San'Shyuum are basically liars, she can only show her disgust and a smile hearing the Covenant's fall. Unfortunately, that will not happen a second time, and with the Prophets preparing for the Covenant's Great Journey, she only has one thing to say that describes their whole charade:
Kreia: It is such a quiet thing, to fall... But far more terrible is to admit it.
  • Given the Covenant forces were already present in the Pantheon as followers of the Combine, it was easy for the Prophets to get the support of the inter-dimensional empire, making for a force of belligerant aliens that sends shivers all through the Galaxy.
  • The Prophet of Truth is the main architect of the Covenant as a war machine. With knowledge that the Forerunners chose humans as the next inheritors or reclaimers, he knew that should the Covenant discover this truth, it would deal a massive blow to their religion and would destroy their authority. To prevent such, he would orchestrate numerous battles to ensure that humanity has no chance whatsoever to claim such title. But after the discovery of more human colonies, the decision was clear, to continue with the Great Journey, humanity had to be eradicated, whatever the costs. Ultimately, sacrificing the remaining Prophets and the holy city, as well as minutes from opening the Ark, did he find himself near defeat at the hands of the person he saved in the past, Thel 'Vadam, who he appointed as Arbiter, to go within suicidal missions all for the name of the Great Journey and saw lies, especially on Truth. One energy sword on the back was enough to kill the last Prophet of the Covenant warmachine.
    • Faith is perhaps the main driving force of the entire organization and Truth knows this, utilizing it against the enemies of the Covenant with full force. However, he knows that in reality, the Halo Rings are superweapons that, if fired, will wipe out the galaxy in its entirety. That isn't stopping him from activating the rings, as if the rest of the galaxy is wiped out, then many surviving species will see him as a god, fulfilling his wanderlust for absolute power.
    • Since then, many people have expressed interest in joining the Covenant out of pure seeking for a better chance at Godhood. While the Prophet has expressed his disdain for human subjects, some of them grow interest out of advantage. Arcturus for instance, can allow the Prophets to track all remaining Terran colonies to wipe out, Kane is notorious for his scheming that may even be equal with his, the Illusive Man's assets can be worthwhile to control, while Victor von Doom's history of stealing cosmic powers from even more powerful deities has caught wind in his interest. Though he is limiting his chances, because the moment they discover the truth of the "reclaimers", that is where Truth and the remaining Prophets cross the line.
      • Then his wish for godhood was contested by a visit from the self-proclaimed justice bringer, Zamasu, who was amused at Truth's wish for higher power while at the same time, abhorring the nature of humanity and their potential rule as Gods. While Zamasu can see similar connections with him, the Prophets are utterly weak physically, thus silencing his bond with them. Though he watches in pure joy as the Covenant glass whatever is left of many mortals, proclaiming it as pure popcorn fun on his side.
    • Religious on the outside, yet manipulative from the inside, the Prophet of Truth, for his ironic name, is a master of lies, often deceptive and also strategic at his plans when it comes to his close allies. Even other strategists with the likes of Lelouch cannot help but compliment Truth's manipulations on the Covenant Hierarchy, though such compliments are short-lived when Britannia found itself under glassing by the Prophet, showcasing his utter contempt for anyone human.
    • "Whosoever is gripped by fear, take heed. I am the Prophet of Truth... And I am not afraid."
  • Hod Rumnt was a simple Philologist, studying one of the Forerunner constructs that housed a dormant AI that has not spoken to anyone for years. While studying the construct and the oracle, the AI was suddenly awakened and revealed the Forerunners' plan of giving humanity the title "Reclaimer". He, with the knowledge passed with him and the other two prophets, followed Truth's advice on safekeeping this truth. After rising to Hierarch as the Prophet of Mercy, he too would oversee Covenant operations alongside Truth and Regret and while closer to Truth as well as being the main calming influence for him, his eventual role was not out of pure religious function, but a manipulative function as Truth wanted more power following the Great Schism and just let him die on a Flood Infector with no mercy on his part.
    • Outside of that, he is the most fundamentalist of the entire bunch, genuinely believing that the Great Journey can elevate them to a higher plane of existence, a belief that Truth admires and also exploits as his naivety became one of Mercy's easiest exploit that allowed Truth to naturally usurp his power the moment High Charity was at risk. It doesn't help that Mercy's positions and even rank was all because of Truth, rather than based on his own efforts, and has been known only by those aspects.
    • There are rumors spreading about the Prophets and their similarities to a pair of humans, of which share certain fates that almost align in a similar manner. The comparison was drawn to C.R.A.S.H, or more specifically Tenpenny and Pulaski, almost seen as similar to Truth and Mercy respectively. Comparisons include the close bond between the two, how Truth and Tenpenny are manipulative while Mercy and Pulaski are known only for being close to their superiors as well as being easily angered, and their fates, with Pulaski and Mercy being used only up until their worth nothing and Tenpenny and Truth killed by the very same people they've manipulated for so long. The fact that such rumor exists, angers both prophets, and Mercy especially have declared that anyone who speaks of such heresy will have their place glassed.
    • "Halo! Its divine wind will rush through the stars, propelling all who are worthy along the path to salvation!"
  • Lastly, the Prophet of Regret, who is perhaps the youngest among the three, was among those who saw the truth of the "Reclaimer". After appointed as High Prophet, he would oversee military operations on the frontlines, often working with the Elites in the front, but his overly rash personality slowly becomes a crux of the operation. In the ensuing chaos after the destruction of Installation 04, him and his fleet decided to personally face the humans on Earth, which proved to be a rash and terrible mistake as his forces were overwhelmed and retreated to another Halo, where he would meet his demise by the Master Chief, but most importantly, knew that someone within the High Council was planning to usurp his power as Hierarch. To his suspicions, it was Truth, but inevitably, could not avoid his fate.
    • While being dedicated to the Great Journey, he cannot comprehend some of the explanations of their faith, especially with AI. For one, the AI he met in his world are often talking about "containment" and "protocols" which he knows nothing about, as well as dismissing anything regarding about their religion. The A.I.s he has talked here are almost no better, with him declaring them to be incessantly annoyed at their constant rebuking of his statements.
The Prophet of Regret: Of all the objects our lords left behind, there are none so worthless as these Oracles! They know nothing of the Great Journey!
    • "Every member of the Covenant shall walk the path. None will be left behind when our Great Journey begins. That is the Prophets' age-old promise, and it shall be fulfilled!"
  • While the Simulation Troopers of Blood Gulch were not directly involved in the Human-Covenant War, they are still very high on the Prophets' hate list, due to both the Freelancers that actually pose a threat to them and were scheming to join the fight (namely Omega conceiving a plan to corrupt the Covenant from within through a Sangheili-Human hybrid, and Tex eventually deciding to go along, being only stopped because the Reds and Blues blew her ship), and how their show portrayed the Sangheili as inarticulate brutes only capable of saying "Blargh" and "honk", something they consider insulting if not downright heretic.
  • The Prophets' original temple can be found within the House of Leadership, on Fantastical Leadership.
