  • 002 Anzu Futaba - Anzu no Uta
  • 003 Kanako Mimura - Chocolat Tiara
  • 004 Kaede Takagaki - Koi Kaze
  • 005 Rika Jougasaki - DOKIDOKI Rhythm

Rin was the first idol to be voiced, first appearing in a TV commercial on January 13 2012. The rest of this lineup, first announced on February 22 2012, was immediately voiced following the release of the first batch.

    Rin Shibuya

Age: 15
Height: 165 cm
Weight: 44 kg
Birthday: August 10
Blood type: B
Three sizes: 80-56-81
Hobbies: Dog-walking
"Huh, so you're gonna be my producer? Well, I guess that's not so bad... I'm Shibuya Rin. Look after me from today on."
— Rin's self introduction

A cool-headed, hard-working young woman who serves as a sort of Rattata for players who choose to begin the game with the Cool category. She is notable for being the very first of the idols introduced in the game to receive an S Rare card after she proved popular among players, and also the first to be announced to be getting a CD debut. Her rise in popularity and her being the first one to go from a tutorial idol to getting a CD debut has earned her quite a bit of popularity, becoming sort of the poster girl for the Cinderella Girls.

In the anime, she is initially dubious at the idea behind being an idol, but is eventually won over by Uzuki and the Producer. She ends up joining Uzuki and Mio in New Generations, the first idol unit given its debut among the girls of the Cinderella Project.

While a core member of the Cinderella Project, by the second season, she forms a new unit with Karen and Nao, "Triad Primus", as part of Mishiro's project KRONE, putting New Generations on hold. After realizing her culpability in causing Uzuki's depression and taking steps to rectify that, she returns to perform as part of a reformed New Generations once again.

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Rin's hair in the games was a darker shade of brown. The anime zig-zags this, sometimes giving her black hair instead.
  • Aloof Dark-Haired Girl: Tall (relative to her age), stoic, aloof and has long dark hair. She's friendlier and more open to others than most examples though.
    • Case in point, she's a more sociable person than both Chihaya Kisaragi, Shizuka Mogami and Hiori Kazano, her fellow representatives from the other games, despite her seemingly unfriendly appearance. She also smiles more in the beginning unlike those two who had to defrost first not just to their producers but also to their fellow idols. Helping her parents over the counter in their flower shop probably helped.
  • Animal Motifs: Discussed in one 4koma with Rin, Mika, Uzuki and Chieri. They decide that Rin is cool like a cat. Also Nao got the idea of imitating a cat from her, and her aloof and independent nature can be likened to a cat.
  • Butt-Monkey: Is usually the butt of all the teasing and embarrassing scenarios in the Drama CDs. She even lampshades it in one of the Magic Hour radio drama specials.
Rin: [After sympathizing with Nao for being Karen's favorite chew toy] I know how you feel. Every unit has a designated prey...
  • Calling Your Attacks: When using her Charge Attack in Granblue Fantasy.
    Rin: Iolite...BLUE!!
  • The Cameo: Makes an appearance in the ending credits of the Idolm@ster movie, and is the only Cinderella Girl to do so.
  • Canine Companion: One card depicts her with her yorkie Hanako, who she jokingly consults for advice from time to time.
  • Character Tic: Tends to clutch her chest whenever she starts to feel something from a new experience in the anime.
  • Com Mons: The weakest card in the Cool type lineup, and the first idol that Cool producers add to their unit when beginning the game.
  • Cover Version: Has covered the angela song Soukyuu in Cool Jewelries 001.
    • Later covers Uzuki's S(mile)ING! in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 1.
  • The Cynic: Downplayed and is a nicer example than most, but she tends to be pessimistic at times.
  • Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: Her primary motivation for joining the Cinderella Project in the anime.
  • Face of a Thug: She appears to have a "resting bitch face" as her default expression, which ends up giving off an unfriendly aura to her peers and making her seem like a delinquent. She herself has remarked before that her intimidating expression often deters people from getting to know her.
  • Flower Motifs: Most of her characterization in the anime is reliant on symbolism involving flowers. This is more prevalent in the first part of the anime where her status there is arguably that of the series' main protagonist. note
  • Foil: To Uzuki in the anime. She also serves as one to the more energetic Mio, but not to the same extent as Uzuki.
  • Friendless Background: Downplayed. She didn't have that many friends prior to being an idol, in part due to her I Work Alone attitude.
  • Girls Love Chocolate: She even has a stash of them.
  • Headphones Equal Isolation: Is frequently seen listening to her mp3 player whenever she's alone in the anime and in subsequent artworks.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Her weapon as a guest player character in the mobile game Granblue Fantasy.
  • Heroes Love Dogs: Hanako's presence says it all.
  • I Work Alone: Her number one priority is self-sufficiency above all else.
  • Image Song: "Never Say Never", "Anemone Star", and "Reflective illumination night‎"
  • In-Series Nickname: Shiburin, courtesy of Mio.
  • Ineffectual Loner: While her I Work Alone attitude has given her high standards for how she wants things done, this ends up coming at the price of having a Friendless Background. However, being in solitude never bothered her in the first place. After being an idol, though, she lets her guard down and begins to rely on her fellow idols and the Producer more.
  • Innocent Flower Girl: She's reserved, easily flustered when embarrassed, withdrawn and works at her parents' flower shop occasionally, with said flower shop being the house where she lives in. She's also knowledgeable enough about flowers to know the meanings behind them like the ones she gave Uzuki in episode 1 of the anime.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Sometimes, she can cross the line and severely hurt the person she's talking to, even if she has good intent behind her words, such as with Uzuki in the anime or Chiyo in Starlight Stage's Drastic Melody event.
  • It's All My Fault: Once she learns about Uzuki's depression, much like Mio she starts blaming herself for what's happening. In her case, she thinks that it's her decision to join KRONE as part of Triad Primus, and how it left her little time to spare for New Generations and Uzuki, that caused it all.
  • Japanese Politeness: Inverted. Rin seldom uses honorifics in her speech, even when talking to adults.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: She's revealed to be this, according to NO MAKE 4.
  • Meaningful Name: Rin's Kanji 凛 means "cold", a name that befits someone who represents the Cool Idol lineup. It also means "dignified", which also suits her I Work Alone attitude.
  • The Namesake: She was crowned Cinderella Girl for 2014.
  • Not So Above It All: Her cool, level headed demeanor is put to the test when she's stuck in the same room as Ranko, Kaede and Riina.
    • She also pokes fun at Nao every once in a while to get a reaction from her.
  • Only Sane Man: In the agency she joins in the Joker manga. She's also this in the anime, where she usually puts up with the other girls' shenanigans.
  • Opposites Attract: Non-romantic example with Uzuki. Rin is stoic, tends to be closed-off and is cool-headed, while Uzuki is friendly, emotional and full of smiles.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Her default expression, though she's more expressive than most.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The cool blue to Uzuki's and Mio's red.
  • Refusal of the Call: She repeatedly refused the Producer's offer of becoming an idol in the anime at first. The Producer's Armor-Piercing Question and Uzuki's enthusiasm convinced her in the end.
  • Sole Survivor: Of Kaede's Gargle Blaster in the Cool Jewelries CD's drama segment.
  • The Spock: To Uzuki's Kirk and Mio's McCoy.
  • Stacy's Dad: While we never get to see his face even though he briefly appeared onscreen in the anime, Rin's dad is apparently attractive, if Uzuki's comment about him in one of the Magic Hour radio segments is anything.
  • Straight Man: On the Cinderella Radio show, where her co-hosts Uzuki and Mika tend to steer the discussion to bizarre places if left unchecked. She does, however, make an exception for Nao's interview.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: She's stoic, aloof, and may come off as unfriendly looking, but she's actually a very kind girl who's no stranger to being close and friendly towards others. In fact, it didn't take Uzuki much effort to befriend her, and Rin's smiles come around more frequently than most.
  • Those Two Girls: Part of two separate three-girl circles: the New Generations trio with Mio and Uzuki, who are fellow idols she debuted with together, and the Triad Primus unit with Nao and Karen, who are her schoolmates in the anime (but close friends in the original game).
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Chocolate.
  • What Is This Feeling?: As someone who initially feels a sort of emptiness from a lack of aspirations and interests in life, Rin is overwhelmed with a strong desire of want to seek passions that would, in the Producer's words, "open a new world to her," whenever she sees very aspirant people who are passionate enough with their dreams to pursue them. This inspired her decision to join the Cinderella Project in the anime when she saw how enthusiastic Uzuki was in pursuing her dreams and her joining Triad Primus with Nao and Karen, after seeing how dedicated they were in becoming idols, was a result of this too.
  • Younger Than They Look: With her tall height and mature demeanor, you could be forgiven for believing she was someone who was over 15. Contrast Uzuki's Older Than They Look below.

     Anzu Futaba

Anzu Futaba

Voiced by: Hiromi Igarashi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cg_anzu.png
Age: 17
Height: 139 cm
Weight: 30 kg
Birthday: September 2
Blood type: B
Three sizes: ??? - ??? - ???
Hobbies: None
"No! NOOOOOOOO!!! I’ll never work! I don’t care if it’s being an idol or what, you can’t make me! … … Wha? I’ll be set for life if I become one? I’ll live like royalty? R… really? Uh… maybe you could tell me more?"
— Anzu's self introduction

A listless 17 year old idol in the Cute category and NEET who doesn't believe in work. Anzu has no particular interests other than playing games, anime, manga and sleeping. She only became an idol, because she believes she will be able to live the rest of her days off royalties.

In the anime, she is grouped with Kanako and Chieri, and together the three of them form the idol unit Candy Island.

  • All Just a Dream: How her image song, "Anzu no Uta", ends.
Anzu: … And that was the dream I saw…
  • Ascended Extra: The second CG girl to be added to One for All as DLC.
  • The Barnum: She negotiates towards a person's natural sloth to be lazy with her, or guilt trips them into letting her do nothing.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Implied to be this in one of the Cinderella Girls manga adaptations. For all her laziness, her card is also considered top tier.
    • Confirmed in Episode 9 of the anime, where she easily performs mental math on a physics problem. While hanging from a slide. All because she didn't want to lose and be forced to bungie jump as a penalty game.
  • But Now I Must Go: Her fourth S Rare+ features her telling her fans she's going to graduate while crying. However, if you look closely, you can see eye drops in her hand. However, she got more cards after that, meaning that either her plan was discovered or that she started liking being an idol.
  • Cassette Craze: She'll prerecord her singing to play it back again, in live concert, because she's too lazy to sing the refrain.
Anzu: "Anzu calls it the Substitution Strategy!!"
    • She is blatantly heard doing this on her cover of Dreaming Flower’s Bud Rhapsody ~Soul’s Guidance~.
  • Catchphrase:
    • "I wanna go home!"
    • She frequently wears a shirt that says: "If you work, you lose."
  • Complaining About Complaining: She complains that it takes too much energy to complain.
  • Cover Version: "Lulu", the ED theme of Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl, in Cute Jewelries 001.
    • Later covers Ranko's "Dreaming Flower’s Bud Rhapsody ~Soul’s Guidance~" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 4.
  • Character Development: Gleefully averted; even after evolving her card to Idol form her work ethic doesn't improve, she merely changes her get-out-of-work tactics from whining to trying to smooth-talk the Producer.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Sports these in her second SR card.
  • Decoy Hiding Place: One of her methods to avoid work.
  • Dismotivation: She'll do whatever it takes to avoid having to work, no matter how underhanded.
  • Downloadable Content: Appears in One For All, along with her signature Anzu no Uta.
  • Everyone Has Standards: After staff comments that she and Kozue look very similiar to each other, she tried to start tricking Kozue into doing her work for her. She ends up realizing that tricking an innocent girl who is almost half of her age may going a bit too far.
  • Fakeout Escape: How she tries to avoid work on occasion.
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: She is never seen without her very old, ratty stuffed rabbit. It goes unsaid whether it has sentimental value to her or is just a convenient pillow.
  • Genius Sweet Tooth: Is hinted to have this in Episode 9 of the anime, where she answers several quiz questions very quickly, including one on complex math/physics.
  • Heavy Sleeper: Or at least fakes it to make people leave her alone.
  • Image Song: "Anzu no Uta" (Anzu's Song) and "Slow Life Fantasy". The reason why the former has such a mundane, uncreative title? You got it. She's too lazy to think one up.
  • It's All About Me: She doesn't care if her laziness will cause problems for the other idols, and will happily refuse to perform in concert or with her musical group. Fortunately she can be bribed with candy or tricked with the promise of royalty checks.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While Anzu doesn't care that her laziness would cause trouble for the other idols, she does value her friendship with Kirari. She also cares very deeply for Chieri and Kanako and would help them out when the two are nervous.
    • Despite her contrasting personality with Nana, she did appreciate Nana's leadership, calling her mother during Starlight Stage's Atashi Ponkotsu Android commus.
  • La Résistance: The goal of her image song is to rally the masses into laziness and never do oppressive work again.
  • Laborious Laziness: Averted. Anzu just ignores others and goes back to sleep.
  • The Leader: As funny as it seems, Anzu is pretty much this to Candy Island. She's the one that tries to calm the nerves of Chieri and Kanako and also gives them advice.
  • Mythology Gag: The last line of Anzu no Uta's chorus, "Moyasu wa hageshiku," is lifted straight from Agent Yoru o Yuku from the original series, down to the same beat, though in the context of burning from boiled yakisoba instead of Intercourse with You.
  • The Napoleon: Averted. She is proud of being so short, and believes that growing tall is wasted energy.
  • NEET: What she was (and still tries to be) before becoming an idol.
  • Not in My Contract: Does the minimum amount of expected work for an idol, and will immediately rebel if anyone attempts to do more.
  • Oh, Crap!: Whenever she hears the Producer is looking for her, or returning from a business trip, because it means she has to work.
  • Older Than They Look: She's often mistaken for an elementary school student. She's actually one day younger than Kirari.
  • Only in It for the Money: Candy and video games will also work.
  • Opposites Attract: With Kirari, the tall, extremely quirky and enthusiastic idol.
  • Petite Pride: Very much so. Who wants to carry around all that extra weight? It's too much work!
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When she's had enough of people trying to get her to work.
  • Shout-Out: Her song features sound effects from retro 70's and 80's games Namco produced, including the waka-waka.
  • The Slacker: She makes it a point to do as little work as possible. She can spend days without leaving a room if it's properly stocked with candy and electronic entertainment.
  • Sleepy Head: Prone to taking naps whenever she likes.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: Does it on the Cute Jewelries Drama CD track.
  • Sweet Tooth: Candy will override her laziness and love for video games, if only by a little. It has to be sweet candy; using sour candy will cause a Bribe Backfire.
  • Third-Person Person: To showcase her being a womanchild.
  • Token Mini-Moe: She looks like a girl less than half her age. She ranks among the shortest and lightest of all known idols.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Candy. It's how others bribe her to get anything done.
  • The Trickster: If she see an underhanded opportunity to get out of work or steal candy, she'll take it.
  • Tsundere: While she'll take candy from almost anybody, she goes this way when teased how she prefers it most from the Producer. Anzu will immediately claim that he just happens to buy really sweet candy, and refuses to reveal the brand so she can buy it herself.
  • Womanchild: She likes eating candy, and looks and acts like a child, even though she's barely an adult.

     Kanako Mimura

Kanako Mimura

Voiced by: Yuka Ootsubo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cg_kanako.png
Age: 17
Height: 153 cm
Weight: 52 kg
Birthday: January 6
Blood type: O
Three sizes: 90-65-89
Hobbies: Baking
"Producer-san, nice to meet you, I'm Kanako Mimura. I don't have many talents so, do you really think I can become an idol? I can't believe that but... I'll try to..!"
— Kanako's self-introduction

A soft-spoken, sweet girl of the Cute category with a passion for baking. Initially, she doesn't consider herself idol material because of her body image and low self-esteem.

In the anime, Kanako is part of the idol unit Candy Island, alongside Anzu and Chieri. She is characterized by her love of sweets, and always seems to have homemade cookies ready to be shared with her co-workers in the Cinderella Project.

  • Beautiful All Along: Even before becoming an idol she had an attractive appearance.
  • Big Eater: The main source of her Weight Woe.
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: Something pointed out by Sachiko on the Cute Jewelries 002 drama track. Kanako is so focused on her waistline, that she barely gives any regard to her Fanservice ready chest. She ranks among the largest of Cute idols, and is certainly no lightweight when compared to the entire Cinderella Girls cast as a whole.
  • Character Exaggeration: Got hit with this pretty hard in the anime. Most of Kanako's screentime and dialogue relates to food/sweets in some way.
  • Com Mons: Her first card was a normal with fairly average stats, before she gained a large fan following.
  • Cover Version: "Fushigi na Peach Pie" in Cute Jewelries 002.
    • Later covers Miku's "Onedari Shall We~?" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 4.
  • Feminine Women Can Cook: Really good at making candies and sugary pastries.
  • Image Song: "Chocolat Tiara" and "Okashi na Kuni no Okashiyasan".
  • Informed Flaw: That she's fat. That she has a tummy as flat as a board. Though usually depicted as considerably more filled-out than the others, Kanako's figure is rather standard in real life, particularly to those outside of Japan.
  • Shrinking Violet: To a degree.
  • Sweet Tooth: Because she's also a Big Eater, the calories keep racking up. Practically exaggerated in the anime, to the point that most of her screentime is offering snacks to everyone else.
  • Tastes Like Friendship: Invokes this in Episode 2 of the anime, when she offers Uzuki, Mio, and Rin sweets upon first meeting them.
  • Those Two Girls: With Chieri in the anime.
  • Weight Woe: Has a complex about her weight, even though she's just a bit thicker than the other girls. As her card levels up she slowly loses weight (2 cm from the waist), making her torso slightly smaller in the accompanying artwork.

     Kaede Takagaki

Kaede Takagaki

Voiced by: Saori Hayami

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cg_kaede.png
Age: 25
Height: 171 cm
Weight: 49 kg
Birthday: June 14
Blood type: AB
Three sizes: 81-57-83
Hobbies: Visiting Hot Springs
"I'm Kaede Takagaki... Self-introductions aren't my strong point... At times like this, I'm not sure what to say... Well, work hard and take care of me, Producer."
— Kaede's self introduction

Kaede is a mature and mysterious idol belonging in the Cool category. She is very quiet, never saying more than necessary. Her hobbies are visiting and relaxing in onsen. She's also is a huge fan of lame puns.

While she is a constant background presence throughout the first season of Cinderella Girls, Kaede only gets some focus by the second season, what being the first candidate Mishiro singles out for Project KRONE. To the surprise of many, Kaede turns her down, setting an important precedent in the growing resistance among many of 346-Pro's idols to Mishiro's heavy-handed policies.

In Starlight Stage, she's part of the unit Yoi Otome and one of the duet unit Mysterious Eyes alongside Kanade.

  • Alcohol-Induced Idiocy: Once she’s had a few drinks, all her common sense goes out the window.
  • Beergasm: For the expensive or really tasty drinks.
  • Beneath the Mask: There's no question Kaede is nice and supportive when sober, but don't let her innocent voice fool you: she's devious and manipulative when intoxicated.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: When intoxicated.
  • Characterization Marches On: On her original Cinderella Master Drama CD, Kaede is characterized as a soft spoken woman who likes puns and alcohol drinks, but is highly reserved and refined. Some would even claim she was sorta boring or one-dimensional. Then came the Cool Jewelries Drama CD. Kaede was still characterized as a soft spoken, highly reserved and refined woman who likes puns and alcohol drinks... but gained a devious scheming nature when intoxicated. This modification has increased her fan popularity.
  • Cover Version: Covered Yuki No Hana by Mika Nakashima in the Cool Jewelries 001 CD.
    • Later she covered Tori no Uta, the opening theme of AIR for the collaboration with Key.
  • Defector from Decadence: In the anime, she declines an offer from Mishiro to perform at a large venue in favor of a performance at the considerably smaller one where she debuted as an idol, in part due to the sentimentality associated with her debut stage.
  • Foreshadowing: In the anime, she seems to have a history with the Producer.
  • Gargle Blaster: When she makes one Hilarity Ensues.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Especially if the Producer is not around to stop her.
  • Hot Spring Card
  • Hurricane of Puns: If the Producer doesn't rein her in.
  • I'll Tell You When I've Had Enough!: Downplayed. She's not violent about it, but she will push aside any notion to quit drinking.
  • Image Song: "Koi Kaze" and "Blessing".
  • Incredibly Lame Pun: Fond of slipping these into her speech.
  • Intoxication Ensues: When she encourages the teenage idols to drink with her. The drinking age in Japan is 20.
  • The Namesake: She was crowned Cinderella Girl for 2017.
  • The Nose Knows: She can instantly smell the difference between body wash and shampoo products.
  • Older Than They Look: Most people can't believe she really is 25 years old.
  • Ominous Latin Chanting: The beginning and end of "Koi Kaze".
    • Instructed to go up to eleven for "Koi Kaze ~Azure~" as shown in an official teaser. The chorus was delighted at the idea and they do not disappoint.
  • Orchestral Version: "Koi Kaze" was recreated into a three movement orchestral for the Koi Kaze ~Sai~ album.
  • The Quiet One: Her normal (sober) nature.
  • Readings Are Off the Scale: The Koi Kaze ~Sai~ orchestral is widely considered as the superior rendition of an already god tier song. It has led the fandom to dubbing her the unofficial "Final Boss" of the Cinderella Girls franchise and compelled fans to propose she has unseated Chihaya Kisaragi as the greatest singer of the iM@S universe.
  • Singing Voice Dissonance: Her everyday speaking voice is soft and quiet. Her singing voice is powerful and resonant, making some fans consider her equal to Chihaya Kisaragi: the in-universe best singer of the 765 Pro Allstars. The anime gives a nod to this status, as she's portrayed as a flagship idol in the 346 Production's line up.
  • Stealth Pun: If the Producer asks her to refrain from them.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Blue on the left and green on the right. While one might argue that this trope could be broadly applied to other idols, she is the only one in Cinderella Girls with heterochromia. Might signify Duality Motif, if one were to conside her entirely different persona when drunk.
  • Unsuspectingly Soused: For those teenage idols who agree to go along with her drinking antics.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Taken to an extreme with her "Abyssal Moonlight" card. It's basically has piss-poor appeal points that it might was well doesn't exist, but it can briefly activate all skills on the party and apply the highest score/combo boost value available in the team. It also copies the most effective of the team's (and guests) center skill and apply it to the rest of the team if you used her as a centerpiece idol.
  • Wine Is Classy: Is said to enjoy it quite a bit, also seen in her S Rare card.

     Rika Jougasaki

Rika Jougasaki

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cg_rika.png
Age: 12
Height: 149 cm
Weight: 36 kg
Birthday: July 30
Blood type: B
Three sizes: 72-54-75
Hobbies: Collecting Stickers
"Yahoo~☆ I'm Rika Jougasaki~ Because my big sis told me she would became an idol, I decided I should become one too~! Are you completely sure you can turn me into a successful idol? Hehe, I'm counting on you!!"
— Rika's self introduction

The younger Jougasaki sister, Rika is a playful girl in the Passion category. She enjoys playing around and became an idol to be like her sister, Mika, who she admires quite a bit.

In the anime, Rika is eventually grouped with Kirari and Miria in the idol unit Dekoration (凸レーション ), and later as one of the kindergartners in Totokira Academy, with her bright personality complementing that of her two companions.

  • Animal Motifs: Lions, as seen in her Rare+ and S Rare+ cards.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Can be this sometimes to Mika, but she really doesn't mean it most of the time.
  • Beetle Maniac: Sadly, the same can't be said for Mika.
  • Big Sister Worship: In the anime, Rika's reason for becoming an idol is to be just like Mika.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: In her image song, "DOKIDOKI Rhythm".
  • Character Exaggeration: Strangely enough, Rika's penchant for wanting to become sexier becomes this in the anime.
  • Cover Version: "LOVE & JOY" in Passion Jewelries 001.
    • Later covers Riina's "Twilight Sky" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 5.
  • Defensive "What?": A series of them for her ad-lib challenge. Rika is so adamant about doing nothing wrong that she momentarily gets taken off the air, forced to give an appology afterwards, and redo the skit with a version Staff-san wrote.
  • Epic Fail: Tries to lose weight in the OVA. Asks for dieting tips from Chieri. Chieri's advice comes from Kanako.
  • Gyaru Girl: She's into kogal fashion, much like her older sister Mika. It's likely that she's into it in order to be more like her sister.
  • Hidden Depths: Its implied in the anime that at least part of the reason why she tries and acts more mature is because she doesn't want to be seen as just a kid by her classmates.
  • Image Song: "DOKIDOKI Rhythm" and "SUPERLOVE☆".
  • Innocent Innuendo: Her attempt at doing a mature, adult introduction in the Passion Jewelries Drama CD ends up being like this. Her idea of "playing with older men" includes activities such as karaoke and hide-and-seek.
  • Man Bites Man: Occasionally threatens to bite you if you neglect her.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Attempts to disguise herself in an outing with the Producer and her sister in one Theater comic. However, her disguise is so gaudy and elaborate that it only draws attention to them.
  • Say It with Hearts: Stars, actually ☆
  • V-Sign: Gives these in a majority of her cards, both idolized and not, including the one displayed above.
  • Verbal Tic: A textual one; her sentences are always punctuated with a white star.

2nd Batch

    General
The second batch of CINDERELLA MASTER album series was released on August 8, 2012. The lineup consists of the following idols:

"Kukuku, it seems you are able to see my power, you might posses the ability of ‘the eye’… I advise you to be careful however, my power could make you burn. Fufu, fufufufufu!" Translation
— Ranko's self introduction

An idol who dresses in the gothic lolita style almost exclusively, Ranko is a Chuunibyou, claiming to wield The Power and speaks in an Evil Overlord manner. Although she communicates in fantastical terms, her lines are always accompanied by an Inner Monologue translation to reveal what she really means, revealing that Ranko is just an ordinary girl with Shrinking Violet traits.

Unlike everyone else in the Cinderella Project anime, Ranko is debuted as a single act called Rosenburg Engelnote , but in the finale of the first season she temporarily takes Minami's place in Love Laika when the latter experiences a fever.

In the second season of Cinderella Project anime, Koume Shirasaka joins Ranko's unit, re-naming it to Rosenburg Alptraumnote .

  • Ascended Extra: The first CG girl to be included in One for All as DLC, making her the first CG to actually perform in a 2nd Vision game.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Her first set of cards were defensive in nature, but ever since becoming a fan favorite, the vast majority of her new cards are pure offense.
  • Best Friend: While far from antisocial or unfriendly, Ranko's Chuunibyou personality and language made it difficult for other idols to approach her. She found a kindred spirit in Asuka Ninomiya, who's elaborate imagination equals her own. The fandom greatly approved this Chuunibyou pairing, which culminated in a duet unit known as Dark Illuminate with their own signature song, "Souyoku no Aria".
  • The Cameo: Makes an appearance in The Idolm@ster: One For All as an optional Rival.
  • Catchphrase: "Drown in the Darkness!" (alternatively, "Savor the Darkness!")
  • Chuunibyou: A Mystic / Evil Eye Type. She always wears Elegant Gothic Lolita outfits and acts like an Evil Overlord, often speaking in wordy, long-winded speeches that most other characters have a hard time understanding. Of course, this is all just a cover for how she's actually a Shrinking Violet with low self-esteem.
  • Cover Version: "Tsuki No Shizuku" in Cool Jewelries 001.
    • Later covers Minami's "Venus Syndrome" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 3.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Talks of demon worship, corrupting angels, and the supremacy of darkness. She's as pure and innocent as an idol can get. Her focus episode in the anime is about this as well, since she's unhappy with how her debut is planned to have a grim and gothic horror theme when she only wants to be seen as elegant and mysterious.
  • Dark Magical Girl: She has delusions of being one of these.
  • Demoted to Extra: This happens to her during the second season of the anime, as unlike the rest of the Cinderella Project units, she does not get a focus episode or do anything of consequence to the plot. Additionally, while all of the other Cinderella Project units each get a new image song for the second season, she simply features on Love Laika's song as an additional singer.
  • Double Meaning: Her lines sound like gothic nonsense to others. For example she might exclaim, "savor the darkness," which is her way of saying, "good work". Cursing the "tyranny of the sun" (in the manner a vampire would), is her way of saying, "good morning".
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: She wears it for common house clothes.
  • Evil Laugh: It's a high pitched, somewhat annoying cackle that goes, "nya, ha, ha, ha!"
  • Falling Bass: All over the place in her song, since the guitar bassist is prominent during the song, but heard easiest when Ranko stops singing to pledge her "ware wo" oath, right before the electric guitar solo.
  • Gratuitous German: Her stage name in the anime is Rosenburg Engel, which is German for "angel of the rose castle".
  • Gratuitous Iambic Pentameter: Her preferred method of communication, with lots of Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness thrown in for good measure.
  • Gratuitous Italian: In "Dreaming Flower’s Bud Rhapsody ~Soul’s Guidance~" and once in the "New Generations" manga.
  • Image Song: "Dreaming Flower’s Bud Rhapsody ~Soul’s Guidance~".
    • As Rosenburg Engel, "-Angel- Vengeful Sword: Melody of Light".
    • In Starlight Master series, "Kyrie's Dreams ~Melody of The Fallen Stars~"
  • Inner Monologue: Because of her Double Meaning Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness, this is how her comments are translated into understandable Japanese on the Drama CD.
  • In-Series Nickname: Ranran.
  • Large Ham: After listening to a few sentences, you'd think she was the supreme ruler of Hell or leader of a dark cult.
  • Longing for Fictionland: The real Ranko is a Shrinking Violet with low self-esteem. The persona seen by her fans and friends is a fantasy constructed to conceal her insecurities. She hopes to ultimately forever bury her true personality. The Producer is aware of this and tries to prevent Ranko from completely erasing everything that she once was.
  • Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Certainly is one for her Producer.
  • The Namesake: She was crowned Cinderella Girl for 2013.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: There are rare occasions when Ranko completely drops her chuunibyou persona and uses ordinary speech. These moments usually occur because the situation is so dire or important, she can't afford to have anyone misinterpret what has to be communicated. When the danger has passed, she plays off the event as allowing another angel to channel its voice through her body.
  • Our Monsters Are Different: Her chuunibyou identity is a vampiric fallen angel with supremacy over Darkness and the Void. Her powers originate from an Eldritch Abomination to whom she is forever bound, and the Producer is that elder god's sealed mortal avatar.
  • Perky Goth: Despite her image and speech, the translations of her lines reveal a sweet person beneath her vampiric exterior.
  • The Sacred Darkness: How she generally describes the darkness.
  • Secret Diary: Her sketchbooks, where she illustrates all her chuunibyou ideas and innermost thoughts. She sometimes lets the Producer look at them, but only if that sketchbook doesn't contain anything about her feelings for him.
  • Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Tends to speak in long, grandiose diatribes that were inspired by over the top demon lords from various Japanese fantasy anime and video games.
  • Shrinking Violet: Her gothic persona is a front for this. Despite acting like a typical anime or video game villain and making long-winded speeches, she's actually quite shy and has low self-esteem.
  • Terrible Artist: Seems to think of herself as one. Quickly gets embarrassed if someone sees her sketchbook, though it might have more to do with being a Secret Diary as well. While it varies from Yonkoma to Yonkoma, she's usually portrayed as talented at drawing.
  • Translator Buddy: Not all Cinderella Girls can understand her, so someone will translate. Usually used as a means of Audience Surrogate. In the Anime, she has Miria and then Koume acts as her translator.

"Miku couldn't do anything back then! That... that's the first time that's ever happened to me, meow... So you better take responsibility! ☆ Now, you better make Miku top idol, meow! ☆"
— Miku's self introduction

A girl who really loves cats and likes to pretend she is one. Belonging in the Cute category, she is also the very first Rival Idol you encounter in the game.

In the anime, Miku is just as competitive with the other members of the Cinderella Project. In her case however, it's due to a sense of desperation, as she's afraid that she'll never get her own chance to shine.

She eventually does get to debut, as part of the idol unit "*" (literally the Asterisk symbol)... Despite this, she still has some misgivings left over, as she's grouped with rock-happy Riina. To say that their start was rocky was an understatement, to say the least.

  • Accent Slip-Up: Miku will occasionally slip into her Kansai dialect when she's caught off-guard of not paying attention.
  • Animal-Eared Headband: She wears fake cat ears in most of her appearances. The anime reveals that she owns several pairs.
  • Animal Motifs: She is known as the cat girl idol and frequently acts catlike.
  • Berserk Button: Being told to stop using her Verbal Tic for having fun.
  • Butt-Monkey: Appears to be this in the anime thus far, with no one taking her rivalry with the NG trio seriously.
  • Cat Girl: The role she constantly plays 24 hours a day. The only time she stops is when she's Clark Kenting to avoid drawing a crowd.
  • Cover Version: "Shippo no Kimochi" in Cute Jewelries 001.
    • Later covers Anastasia's "You're stars shine on me" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 5.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Typically she has a left tooth longer than the others, but sometimes it's on the right.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: You get her cards by defeating her in the tutorial Live Battle.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Ironically, she hates fish despite how much she loves pretending to be a cat.
  • Faux Paw: When posing or introducing herself. She also does it while singing or when she's happy.
  • Image Song: "Onedari Shall We~?" (Pleadingly, Shall We~?) and "Nyan to Spectacle".
  • Kawaiiko: One of the best examples from the Cute category as she plays to her strengths. However, she doesn't really have any ulterior motives for playing up her cutesy act - she just likes to act like a cute cat.
  • Only Sane Woman: In Absolute Nine's drama track, she tries to keep Kaede and Shiki's antics under control, while Yumi and Syuko simply play along.
  • Signature Style: Jazz in "Onedari Shall We~?". New Orleans melody, brass horns, saxophone soloist, and scat singing (neko style) just for starters. It noticeably differs from the other idols' Japanese Pop Music.
    • Her cover of "You're stars shine on me" also contains the above mentioned traits.
  • Significant Birth Date: Miku seems to think so. Her birthday is 2/22, which sounds similar to "nya nya nya" when said in Japanese and is known as Cat Day.
  • Take That!: A small one in the Joker CG manga. Part of Rookie Trainer's criticism of Rin, Mio and Uzuki is that they lack a gimmick, which she illustrates by pointing out Miku's catgirl act and Nana Abe's alien girl routine. Miku herself received this from Momoka due to her verbal tic.
  • The Idiot from Osaka: Comes from Osaka, but doesn't really share any of the traits associated with the stereotype, which she lampshades herself in her CD's radio segment. She does occasionally slip into her dialect at times though.
Miku: Ah, Miku doesn't speak any Kansai dialect! Don't ask me to be any tsukkomi or boke! Too bad nya!
  • The Rival:
    • Starts out as this in the mobile game, being the tutorial's first Rival Battle idol.
    • In the anime, she reprises this role by voicing her discontent at the NG trio and challenging Mio to various "challenges" (which end up being games unrelated to idol training).
    • In the second season, Miku declares Nana Abe her rival. Though, in this case, its out of respect and admiration.
  • Take a Third Option: How she handles the "buu buu speaker" from ruining her fun during the Drama CD. She throws it in the trash... twice! Though severely muffled, it's possible to still hear it buzzing like crazy.
  • The Unfavorite: Felt this way when the Producer was only focusing on Uzuki, Rin, and Mio in the anime. Averted when the Producer revealed that everyone's stage debuts were being done in sequential order.
  • Third-Person Person: Always refers to herself as Miku, perhaps as part of playing up her kawaiiko image.
  • Verbal Tic: Nya. What else, nya?
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Riina Tada. The two were forced to work together in a unit despite bickering all the time.

"Nyahhoi! This is Kirari ☆ Huh, huh? Are you all tuckered out from work? Then Kirari will put you back to normal with some heart-pounding Kirarin power! One, two, three, Kirarin ☆"
— Kirari's self introduction

A hyperactive, tall Passion category idol. Kirari became one of the most popular Cinderella Girls immediately for her infectious energy and humorous quirks.

Always cheerful, in the anime Kirari is grouped with Rika and Miria in the idol unit Dekoration. She's also never far from fellow Cinderella Project member Anzu, and is always seen carrying the lazybones around, usually against her will.

Come the second season, Kirari joins Airi as the co-host of the idol-centric variety show "Totokira Academy". She's also paired up with Anzu in the segment Anki-ranking.

  • Blithe Spirit: Delights in spreading her own brand of madness into ordinary life, or as she calls it, Kirarin Power☆
  • Calling Your Attacks: Kirarin Beam!
  • Catchphrase: Quite a few, but mainly "Nyowa!", "Happy-Happy.", and "Puu-Puu."
  • Cool Big Sis: She acts as one to Miria and Rika in the Passion Jewelries drama (along with Mika and Mio). She's also seen carrying Nina around on her back in the PV for Onegai Cinderella. She ascends to this in the anime proper, having formed the unit Dekoration with Miria and Rika.
  • Cover Version: "Gakuen Tengoku" in Passion Jewelries 001.
    • Later covers Anzu's "Anzu no Uta" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 5.
  • Cuteness Proximity: It's her hobby.
  • Gentle Giant: She's a very tall girl and is sweet to everyone, including the surly and lazy Anzu.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Unlike most of the other idols with this hairstyle, she only has them when performing. When offstage she wears her hair down.
  • Hidden Depths: It's often hinted that Kirari is insecure about her height and her manner of speaking, though it's finally elaborated in the anime and in supplementary materials. She initially had no intention to being an idol, not because she didn't want to, but because she thought she wasn't a cute fit for it. She's also hesitant about being the odd one out in her unit, Dekoration, given that she towers over Rika and Miria, the youngest idols in the group. She gets over her insecurities, but she often lampshades whenever she talks seriously, since she notes it's not like her to act that way.
  • Huge Schoolgirl: She started at 182 cm, and grew to 183 in her plus form. By the time she got to the SR+ stage, she grew to a towering 185 cm. She claims she can grow even bigger with the love of her fans. She doesn't seem to fulfill the "insecure about her height" part of the trope at first glance, but there are hints towards it and it's further expanded upon in the anime.
    • In Starlight Stage she claims her height makes her uncute and that it's why she wears such cute clothes.
  • Image Song: "Marshmallow☆Kiss" and "Nyowa Nyoworld☆".
    • In the 11th episode of Gekijou anime miniseries, "Kirarin Robo no Theme" for "Kirarin Robo".
  • Large Ham: In every sense.
  • The Leader: Of Dekoration, as revealed in Episode 10 of the anime.
  • Opposites Attract: With Anzu. This is largely Ascended Fanon, since she's often portrayed in fanworks with a special attachment to Anzu due to their tiny slothful girl/huge hyperactive girl juxtaposition. This has since become canon in official supplementary comics. They even duet "Onegai Cinderella" in a CD that is otherwise separated by same-type trios and are frequently pictured together in the "Onegai Cinderella" PV. They also have cards that, when placed side-by-side, reveal they are two halves of a greater illustration. In the anime, they're often seen together as well.
  • Pimped-Out Dress: The running theme among all of her idol outfits is to be very colorful, very accessorized and often with a donut glued to it somewhere, which a certain idol will droll over it.
  • Third-Person Person: As part of her whole kawaisa image.
  • Those Two Girls: Will sometimes take this role when paired with Anzu.
  • Verbal Tic: Tends to pepper her speech with nonsense words in general, but the one she's most known for is "nyowa☆".

"Nice to meet you★ I'm Jougasaki Mika. I've always wondered, what is it like to be an idol? To be the only one, the number one! I want to know so, let's aim to become top idol together!"
— Mika's self introduction

The elder Jougasaki and fellow idol in the Passion category, Mika is a fan of the gal subculture. Like any older sister, she and Rika don't always see eye to eye, and squabble on occasion, but most of the time they get along just fine. Mika puts on an outward show of glamor and sex appeal, but is actually somewhat shy when it comes to expressing herself.

In the anime, Mika is already a successful idol and she helps Uzuki, Rin and Mio jumpstart their careers by letting them be backup dancers for one of her concerts. She also the "experienced" idol that the Cinderella Girls interact with regularly, due to her familial connection with Rika; because of this she is often on hand to dispense advice based on her own experiences.

In episode 17, she was force to drop her gal look and dress up in a more mature image. However, she was still able to convey her gal persona in the new look, making it her own.

In Starlight Stage, she's part of the unit LiPPS.

  • Animal Motifs: Discussed in one 4koma with her, Rin, Uzuki and Chieri. Mika is compared to a flamingo for being pink.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: In Episode 10 of the anime, she gets angry at the Producer for losing Rika earlier. The Producer is able to calm her down, however, and eventually finds Rika. She also apologizes to the Producer afterwards.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Mika really cares for her little sister, and serves as a bit of a role-model for her. Her experience as an older sister also shows itself frequently when it comes to interacting with idols younger than her for the Cinderella Radio segments; she's very good with kids.
  • Coat Cape: In both her Rare+ and CD cover.
  • Cool Big Sis: Apparent in the anime, as she offers the New Generations trio an opportunity to act as her backup dancers to help jumpstart their debut. Mio even refers to her as Mika-nee.
    • Later in episode 10, she gives guidance to Rika and the other girls in their newly-formed unit, Dekoration.
  • Cover Version: "Nichiyoubi wa Damedame yo" in Passion Jewelries 001.
  • The Gadfly: In the Cinderella Radio segments. If the idol being interviewed isn't one prone to starting mayhem herself, Mika is usually the one to instigate something. Interestingly enough, she's just as prone to be teased as she is to tease others.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Trades a single ponytail style for this in her idol form.
  • Gyaru Girl: She's very much into kogal fashion. In the anime, she's forced to stop dressing in gal style clothes and wear more mature outfits, but she eventually manages to make the new look her own.
  • Hidden Depths: Some of her in-game comments as well as her image song imply she's actually quite shy and innocent.
  • Image Song: "TOKIMEKI Escalate" and "NUDIE★"
    • Unlike the other image songs, the former is featured prominently in the anime, serving as the concert song in episode 3. Rika often references it in adoration, mimicking a performance in episode 4.
  • Re-Cut: Her Cinderella Master interview. She actually passes her Adlib challenge with flying colors on her first attempt... then insists on a redo to spice it up a little, which she fails multiple times before getting into a shouting/buzzing match with Staff-san that causes the broadcast to be temporarily halted.
  • Say It with Hearts: Stars, actually ★
  • Sexy Discretion Shot: Her S Rare+ card has her nameplate conveniently preventing an outright Panty Shot.
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend: Happens in one of the supplementary comics when Rika teases her about going on dates with her producer.
  • Stripperiffic: All her outfits.
  • The Tease: She actually notes in her Rare+ form that she wouldn't mind showing more skin, but going any further would be inviting a media circus.
  • Verbal Tic: Like Rika, her sentences are punctuated with a black star.

Hobbies: Chatting on the phone
"It's nice to meet you, Producer-san! I'm Uzuki Shimamura, 17 years old. I'll do my very best, so let's make our dreams come true together♪ I'm in your hands!"
— Uzuki's self introduction

An extraordinarily ordinary Cute type idol. Like Rin, she served as a beginner card for Cute producers. Initially overlooked, she managed to become popular for being unpopular. As the numbers of the weak, unloved 2 Cost idols dwindled more and more with each of them getting upgraded forms, Uzuki became the underdog everyone rooted for until her fame grew so much even Bandai Namco noticed.

In the anime, Uzuki is one of the last members to join the Cinderella Project, and in doing so, finally gets the project off the ground. Together with Rin and Mio, she is part of the idol unit New Generations, (ironically) the first group of the project to be given its public debut.

Come the second season, however, it is her unit that becomes the most obvious victim of Mishiro's new policies. With Rin scouted for Project KRONE, and Mio pursuing a solo career, New Generations has become functionally defunct. Though she looks to improve herself as her friends in the Cinderella Project do, she isn't as happy about her friends' decisions as she lets on.

  • Animal Motifs: Discussed in one 4koma with her, Rin, Mika and Chieri, where it's decided that Uzuki is fluffy and kind like an alpaca. "Uzupaka" quickly became a minor meme.
  • Be Yourself: The plot of one segment in Episode 26 revolves around her wanting to look more stylish for a recording session. After enlisting the other idols' help in trying on various outfits, she eventually decides that she likes her usual style the best.
  • Beneath the Mask/Can't Catch Up: Episode 23 of the anime reveals that she is secretly insecure about her apparent lack of talents in contrast to Mio and Rin, as in her own words, her only apparent strong point is her smile, and she herself points out that anyone can do that. Her inner turmoil only accelerated following Mio and Rin pursuing interests outside of New Generations, leading her to fear being left behind, to the point she shut herself away from everyone else to train. When Mio and Rin confront her on this, she emotionally unravels after spilling it all.
Uzuki: "The Producer said I had a nice smile... ...but ...but smiling... laughing... anyone can do that! There's nothing... I've got nothing..."
  • Catchphrase: "Ganbarimasu!" ("I'll do my best!"). Lampshaded in episode 6 of the anime during a radio show, when Mio points out her constant use of it and Uzuki tries to say something different, but ends her sentence with "ganbarimasu" again.
  • Com Mons: She's the starter idol for the Cute type.
  • Cover Version: "Kimagure Romantic" in Cute Jewelries 001.
    • Later covers Miria's "Romantic Now" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 1.
    • She would later cover "HOT LIMIT" by T.M.Revolution in their collab with Starlight Stage.
  • The Ditz: She's noticeably more airheaded than the other Genki Girls of the series, particularly Mio. Especially prevalent in the anime.
  • Downloadable Content: Appears in One For All, along with her image song, "S(mile)ING!".
  • Dwindling Party: In the first episode of the anime. Before being recruited for the Cinderella Project, Uzuki was part of a talent school that originally had a large and bustling class of fellow idol hopefuls. Over time, the lively group got smaller and smaller as more of Uzuki's classmates gave up or moved on until she was the last remaining member of her class.
  • Foil: To Rin in the anime.
  • The Heart: She is definitely the glue that hold New Generations together as a unit. In Episode 1, she helped the Producer to convince Rin to become an idol. In Episode 7, following Mio and Rin quitting the Cinderella Project, her smile and refusal to give up is what inspires the Producer to go after them and bring them back into the fold. This is explored again in Episode 23 after her absence at work causes Mio and Rin, and to a lesser extent, the rest of the Cinderella Project to start getting depressed because of it.
    • Rin takes Uzuki's downward spiral the hardest because it was seeing Uzuki's brilliant smile in Episode 1 that convinced her to try to be an idol.
    • The Producer lampshades and outright confirms this in Episode 24.
Producer (to Uzuki): "When we first met in the spring, you asked me why I chose you. I answered that it was your smile. Even if you asked me the same question right now, that's what I would answer. For your smile that is yours alone. Even if you don't have faith in yourself right now, I have faith in you. Without your smile, New Generations wouldn't... We would never have made it this far."
  • Heroic BSoD: Uzuki slowly spirals into depression in the final third of the anime's second season, brought on by the combination of New Generations getting broken up (albeit temporarily) as Rin and Mio focus on different activities, and the growing doubts that she might not have the talent to keep up with her friends. She's so broken up about this that it eventually affects her work, and she's forced to take an extended leave of absence to try and "find herself". Unfortunately, this just makes things worse...
  • Image Song: "S(mile)ING!", "Hanikami days", and "Junjou Sekkin STORY".
  • Improvised Training: In the New Generations manga, she was recruited into her agency after being challenged along with Rin and Mio to accumulate 100 fans in one day. They failed, but the trainer who issued the challenge took them on anyway for giving it their best effort.
  • In-Series Nickname: Shimamu.
  • The Kirk: To Rin's Spock and Mio's McCoy
  • Madness Mantra: Starting from Episode 19, her Catchphrase, "Ganbarimasu", becomes a variant of this, as she repeats it more and more frequently to mask her increasing descent into depression due to New Generations being split up by Mishiro. She eventually lampshades this at the end of Episode 22.
  • The Namesake: She was crowned Cinderella Girl for 2016.
  • Nice Girl: She mostly portrayed as a kind and understanding individual.
  • Older Than They Look: She's 17 but may as well look way younger than that. Mio actually mistook her for being someone younger than her while Rin mistook her for being her age, and both of them are 15. Uzuki's child-like face, slightly childish mannerisms, and polite way of speaking don't exactly help her one bit. Contrast Rin's Younger Than They Look above.
  • Only Sane Man: Part of the only sane trio with Mio Honda and Rin in her manga appearance.
  • Out of Focus: Invoked for most of the anime, and kicks off her drama arc in the last few episodes of the second season.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red, along with Mio, to Rin's blue.
  • Ridiculously Average Girl: She's described as the most normal individual of the entire idol lineup. Oddly enough, her defining trait. She's so average in fact that it's almost bizarre, counting such feats as consistently scoring right in the middle of her school's exam rankings, or always running around the middle of the pack in sporting events, or having never drawn any fortune but the average Good Luck over the course of 17 New Year's celebrations.
    • In the official Cinderella Theater Comic, both Karen Hojo and Miku Jougasaki give Uzuki a Gal make over. While it does give her some character, they think she looks pretty just being plain.
    • Unsurprisingly, this trait of Uzuki is used as a source of drama in the second season of the Cinderella Girls anime. Because of the fact that she's completely average, Uzuki feels that she doesn't have the talent to be able to stand on stage as an equal to her friends Rin, Mio, and the rest of the Cinderella Girls. After seeing all of them take a step forward as idols and shine brilliantly on stage as stars, her growing insecurity over her own abilities starts to wear away at her usual cheerfulness.
  • Stepford Smiler: In the anime, of the depressed variety. She starts showing hints of this in Episode 19, where she is visibly unnerved with the idea of units being split up. Sure enough, after that happens to both Love Laika and New Generations as a result of Mishiro's actions, she continues down this path in the following episodes. It all comes to a head at the end of Episode 22, where it affects her work at a photo shoot to the point that the Producer has to tell her to go home early for the day.
    • Mio speculates that Uzuki's time as the sole remaining student at the training school may have caused her to bottle up her feelings while appearing cheerful to everyone else. This ends up becoming the case.
    • Her situation continues in Episode 23. While she initially attempts to place herself in a fresh and new situation by returning to her old training school to practice on her own, being isolated and without the emotional support of the other girls ends up ruining her attempt to turn herself around. She ends up faking cheerfulness whenever the Producer checks on her, and tries to keep up the facade when Rin and Mio visit.
  • Weak-Willed: Very easily influenced by Rookie Trainer's attempts at "character building" in the New Generations manga.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: For all her low self esteem, she is ultimately this in the eyes of the Producer (and her fellow idols). If the Producer did not see professional potential in Uzuki, he would have never selected her in the first place.

Age: 17
Height: 155 cm

Birthday: December 16
Blood type: O
Three sizes: 82-59-86
Hobbies: Basking in the sun
"N-nice to meet you! P-pr-producer!! I-I'm Miho Kohinata. I-I'm sorry, I'm a little nervous... I-I'll do my best to be a-an idol loved by her fans!"
— Miho's self introduction

An idol in the Cute category, Miho is a shy girl who gets nervous very easily and is prone to stuttering, but always does her best to improve as an idol and tries to grow into a more outgoing person.

While initially not part of the Cinderella Project, she is one of the idols brought by the Producer into its fold in the second season in the aftermath of Mishiro's new policies. She joins Uzuki in a brand-new unit created in the wake of the temporary break-up of New Generations.

In Starlight Stage, she's part of the units Masque:Rade and Pink Check School.

  • Cover Version: "Tooku Tooku" in Cute Jewelries 001.
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: In one of the supplementary comics she even names her new teddy bear "Producer-kun" and sleeps with it. Cue some Does This Remind You of Anything? reactions later.
  • Idiot Hair: It gives her a look that reminds people of a cherry.
  • Image Song: "Naked Romance" and "Sora to Kaze to Koi no Waltz".
  • Power Trio: She forms one with Uzuki and Kyoko as the unit Pink Check School.
  • Shrinking Violet: She's one of these, and tends to stutter and mumble when she talks. Part of her reason for becoming an idol is so she can grow out of her shyness.
  • Talking in Your Sleep: Not talking but instead "head banging to rock music," as shown in one of the supplementary comics.

Age: 17
Height: 152 cm
Weight: 41 kg
Birthday: June 30
Blood type: A
Three sizes: 80-55-81
Hobbies: Listening to music
"Ah, sorry, I was paying attention to the music. Hmm, do I have to introduce myself? Umm, I'll do my best to become a rocking idol! Did I do it well?"
— Riina's self introduction

A Cool idol who advertises herself as a rock idol. Always wearing headphones and with a deep love for the culture she aims to become the very definition of a rock star. However, she lacks musical knowledge and experience with the genre, so she often comes across as a bit of a poser. Despite this, Riina’s commitment to becoming her ideal rockin’ idol self is strong.

In the anime, Riina is one of the last idols of the Cinderella Project to be given a public debut, and is put together with Miku into the idol unit "*" (which was just a placeholder name, as the Producer couldn't think of one at that point). Due to their clashing personalities, this meant that things got off to a rocky start, though the two eventually made peace with the idea that they're going to be partners for the duration.

In Starlight Stage, she's part of the unit Masque:Rade.

  • Air Guitar: She does this in one of her S Rare+ cards.
  • Character Development: In more recent cards, she's started to come closer to the rock star image she loves; even learning to play guitar under Natsuki's tutelage.
  • Cover Version: Has covered the third Naruto OP, "Kanashimi wo Yasashisa ni", in Cool Jewelries 001.
    • Later covers Kirari's "Marshmallow☆Kiss" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 4.
  • Fangirl: Of rock idols.
  • Girliness Upgrade: Though she doesn't consider them upgrades at first. She says she'd prefer a purely rock star aesthetic, but she can't help herself and gravitates towards more cutesy looks
  • Headphones Equal Isolation: Subverted. She gives the impression of being a bit of a loner, but is actually quite friendly. She's always sporting headphones though.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Portrayed to be this with Natsuki Kimura, a Passion idol with a much more pronounced rocker image and a bit of a mentor figure to Riina.
  • Iconic Outfit: A pair of headphones, though she seems to have a different set in each card.
  • Image Song: "Twilight Sky" and "Sparkling Girl".
  • Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Though she's very committed to the idea of becoming a rock and roll themed idol, she doesn't have as much knowledge or experience with rock music as she'd like other people to think. This has led fans to nickname her "Niwaka", meaning "poser".
  • Now That's Using Your Teeth!: Attempts it by trying to play guitar with her teeth, Jimi Hendrix-style...before she's even learned to play with her hands.
  • The Rock Star: She wants to be this rather than an Idol Singer, but she eventually learns how to combine elements of both in order to create her own image.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Can be considered the Girly Girl to Natsuki's Tomboy.
    • She's the tomboy to Miku's girly in their unit, Asterisk.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Miku Maekawa. The two were forced to work together in a unit despite bickering all the time.

Three sizes: 88-58-88 (86-58-88 in earlier cards)
Hobbies: Baking cakes
"I'm Totoki Airi. What kind of work do you do, Producer? Oh, so you produce idols! I see, whose producer are you? Eh? Mine? Ehhh?"
— Airi's self introduction

The idol who won the first popularity contest held to determine who would gain the title of "Cinderella Girl." Airi is a bit of an airhead, getting confused easily, forgetting things and undressing in front of others without really understanding what's wrong about it.

Much like Kaede, Airi is a constant presence in the first season of the anime, co-hosting variety shows with Mizuki, but starts to interact directly with the Cinderella Girls in the wake of Mishiro's shake-up of 346-Pro's idol division. While she doesn't formally join the Cinderella Project, she does land a role in the Cinderella Girls-centric variety show "Totokira Academy" as its co-host.

  • Character Exaggeration: Averted in the anime. Her stripping gimmick only shows up once, in an episode preview and off-screen, and she doesn't appear to be as airheaded as in the mobile game.
  • Cover Version: "PURE SNOW", the OP to Legend of Himiko, in Passion Jewelries 002.
  • The Ditz: It takes her almost a full minute into her Drama CD interview before she realizes that it's not the rehearsal, it's the real thing.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Her ad-lib situations are "reacting to a massage" and "giving a love-filled present to someone you like". She nails both on the first try, despite (or because of) the sexual implications.
  • Feminine Women Can Cook: Loves to bake.
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: Has a big purple stuffed donkey in her room, as seen in her SR card.
  • Image Song: "Apple Pie Princess" and "Hitotoki Tokimeki".
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: She has a habit of shedding clothes when she's hot, without regard for where she may be at the time. Combined with some Please Put Some Clothes On reactions. Oddly enough, she's allowed to strip throughout her radio interview until the end, where she almost removes her one-piece.
  • Ms. Fanservice: One of her traits is that she likes to spontaneously strip, and many in-game cards put extra focus on her ample cleavage.
  • The Namesake: She was crowned Cinderella Girl for 2012.

Three sizes: 87-57-85
Hobbies: Cleaning, doing laundry
"Hey, you. I thought that, despite my age, I still can become an idol... What do you think? Give me your frank opinion as a Producer. Will you tell me the truth?"
— Mizuki's self introduction

Previously a newscaster, Mizuki decided instead to pursue the path of becoming an idol. She's nearing her 30's and is a bit self conscious about that, taking very good care of her appearance, and eagerly competing with her younger comrades.

In the anime, she co-hosts a variety show with Airi, and is frequently seen with other adult idols, like Kaede and Sanae.

  • Actor Allusion: She was also an idol singer in another world...
  • Be Yourself: Staff-san tries to tell her this during the Drama CD when she pretends to be a teenage girl or sexy temptress, because of her fear of becoming an Old Maid. At one point, she even tries to steal Nana's "eternal seventeen alien" shtick... he wasn't amused.
  • Catchphrase: "Wakaru wa," which roughly translates to "I understand" or "I know."
  • Cool Big Sis: Could be considered this to some of the idols. For example, she taught Karin Domyoji how to speak more clearly and smoothly.
  • Cover Version: "Daitokai Koukyougaku" in Cool Jewelries 002.
    • Later she covers "Hello Especially" by Sukima Switch, the first ending of Silver Spoon's animated adaptation.
  • Image Song: "Angel Breeze" and "Dreaming of you".
  • Intrepid Reporter: Her previous job.
  • News Broadcast: Her song's opening melody is similar to an early morning local news theme song, especially from the 1980's era. This is a reference to her former job as a news reporter.
  • Old Maid: She's very insecure about her age and about not having a boyfriend or husband.
  • Slumber Party: One of her Rare cards is part of the Pajama theme event, which included a comic of her bonding with the younger girls in the event at a slumber party.
  • Team Mom: Her hobbies are cleaning and doing laundry, and even offers to clean up the Producer's room in one of her SR card comments.
  • The Reliable One: She is very mature and hard working, and often tells the Producer that he can rely on her whenever he wants.
  • Watching the Sunset: Does this with the Producer in her first SR card.

"I’m Honda Mio, 15 years old. I’m a high-school freshman. I’m doing my best to become a bright and cheerful top-class idol. Hehe. Please take care of me from now on!"
— Mio's self introduction

Full of energy and very determined to become top idol, Mio is one of the first cards of the game, belonging in the Passion category. Being the last one of the three tutorial idols (the other ones being Rin and Uzuki) to get a CD debut, or another card to begin with, she took Uzuki's spot as the pitiable unpopular idol. Eventually she was announced to be the third of the "New Generations" girls, and got her long awaited CD debut.

In the anime, Mio is one of the last girls to join the Cinderella Project. Together with Mio and Rin, she becomes part of the idol unit New Generations.

In the second season, Mio becomes upset when Rin decides to be part of Project KRONE. However, after a talk with the Producer and starting a solo career, she understood what Rin felt and the two made up.

  • The Atoner: Mio saw the Idol Festival as a way to atone for her unprofessional actions in New Generation's first mini concert.
  • Cover Version: "Lovely" in Passion Jewelries 001.
    • Later covers Chieri's "Kazeiro Melody" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 2.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Has this reaction in Episode 20 of the anime, after Rin tells her and Uzuki that she is joining Triad Primus because she experienced "something new" when singing with Nao and Karen and wishes to pursue it.
Mio: "Shiburin... That 'something new', you can't do it with New Gen? You can't do it with us?"
  • Genki Girl: She has a outgoing and hyperactive personality that makes her a good mood-maker that makes everyone happy, and is amongst the notable compared to other similarly cheerful girls.
  • Image Song: "Mitsuboshi☆☆★", "Step!", and "DELIGHT".
  • It's All My Fault: Much like Rin, Mio realizes too late that her decision to go solo and become a stage actress might have played a part in Uzuki's depression in the latter half of the anime.
  • Laugh Track: Makes a request for them during her Drama CD. She gets it.
  • The Leader: Of New Generations in the anime.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Her song directly references the Idol types in Cinderella Girls — Cute, Cool, and Passion — while extolling the virtues of being a Passion type.
  • The McCoy: To Uzuki's Kirk and Rin's Spock
  • Middle Child Syndrome: Averted. Mio loves that she's the middle child as that makes her both a big sister and a little sister towards her brothers.
  • The Name Sake: She was crowned the Cinderella Girl for 2019.
  • The Nicknamer: She's the origin for Rin Shibuya being called "Shiburin" and Uzuki Shimamura being called "Shimamu". She also nicknames Ranko Kanzaki "Ranran".
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Uses one in the Ensemble manga to try sneaking to work without being detected by rabid fans. Rin and Uzuki recognize her immediately, pointing out that the three of them are still nobodies and have no rabid fans to hide from.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The energetic and emotional red, along with Uzuki, to Rin's levelheaded blue.
  • Shout-Out: In a JRPG parody event called Dice De Cinderella, Mio's outfit is that of the Performer job class from Bravely Default. Oddly, she wears the male version of the outfit used by Tiz and Ringabel.
  • The Gunslinger: Her class in Granblue Fantasy.
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: Plays around with it a the start of her Drama CD. The staff was not impressed.

— Akane's self introduction

Akane is the very definition of hot-blooded. Always energetic and eager to improve, she loves two things in particular: watching rugby matches and tea. She can be pretty silly with her over-the-top energy, but she’s determined to reach her goal of becoming top idol, with as much effort as it’s required.

  • Cover Version: "Nanda Kanda" in Passion Jewelries 002.
  • Hot-Blooded: In spades!
  • Image Song: "Nekketsu Otome A" and "Minagire! Bobobomber"
  • No Indoor Voice: So loud she causes feedback in her mic during the Drama CD and asked to tone it down a bit.
  • Oblivious to Love: In her R+ card’s max affection line, she interprets her accelerated heartbeat when she’s near the Producer as a cold.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Tea. In her introduction she gets overexcited and exclaims her favorite food is tea. The Producer has to remind her tea is a drink and not food.
  • Training from Hell: Mio takes part in Akane's training regimen in the Joker manga. It involves sprinting with a tire tied to your waist.

Hobbies: Chatting
"Wooow! This way I can too become an idol ☆ Wear cute clothes, sing cute songs, dance cute routines... I'm sure from now on, everyday'll be full of fun things ☆ I can't wait!"
— Miria's self introduction

Miria is a young girl who really loves to talk. She can be pretty mature at times, calling the Producer "cute" and asking him to spend time with her on their days off. But when it comes down to it, she's just a curious little girl who dreams of being an idol.

In the Cinderella Girls anime, she joins Rika and Kirari in the idol unit Dekoration/凸レーション. She also joins Totokira Academy as one of its kindergartners.

It's also eventually revealed that Miria can apparently understand Ranko's chuunibyou speech, a fact that stuns the Producer and all the other members of the Cinderella Project.

In Starlight Stage, she joins LMBG, which stands for Little Marching Band Girls.

  • Adorably Precocious Child: In some ways, she's more mature than Rika, despite being younger than her.
  • Age-Inappropriate Dress: Some of her outfits are quite revealing for her age.
  • Animal Motifs: In her first SR card, raccoon dogs.
  • Children Are Innocent: Acts as a foil to Rika, who is often clueless as to any innuendo that comes out of her mouth.
  • Cool Big Sis: In the anime adaptation, Miria's career is beginning right on the heels of a new baby sister's birth. Initially, she has some The Unfavorite feelings because of how her parents seem to overlook her idol milestones in favor of the baby, but after striking up a friendship/big sister alliance with Mika, Miria resolves to become one of these.
  • Cover Version: "Hajimete no Chuu", the 4th and 6th OP of Kiteretsu Daihyakka, in Passion Jewelries 001.
    • Later covers Kanako's "Chocolat Tiara" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 3.
  • Constantly Curious:
    • Her first R card's skill name is "Full of curiosity!!"
    • At the start of her Drama CD, she was playing in the staff room and having all sorts of fun pressing buttons and seeing how the equipment worked.
    • She's often asking Rika (and Mika by extension) questions about various idol activities.
  • Generation Xerox: With her hair out of her usual pigtails, she could be mistaken for a clone of her mother.
  • Hidden Depths: In the anime, she starts to feel like The Unfavorite due to her new baby sibling.
  • Image Song: "Romantic Now" and "Watagumo".
  • Kawaiiko: In the CG radio comic broadcasted live, Mika and Uzuki certainly think so!
  • Rhymes on a Dime: "Romantic Now", which is notable since Japanese songs typically don't follow a rhyming scheme.
  • Spelling Song: Actually "R-O-M-A-N-T-I-C Now".
  • Third-Person Person: Occasionally dips into this as part of her Cheerful Child self.
  • Token Mini-Moe: The youngest member of Cinderella Project.
  • Translator Buddy: In the anime, she's the only one who can perfectly understand Ranko's speech.

     Nana Abe

Nana Abe

Voiced by: Marie Miyake

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cg_nana.png
Age: "Forever 17"
Height: 146 cm
Weight: 40 kg
Birthday: May 15
Blood type: O
Three sizes: 84-57-84
Hobbies: Communicating with Planet Usamin
"Nana will become an idol that will be good at singing, dancing, and voice acting, Nana came from Usamin! Kyaha! Nana will work hard like a maid to make our dream come true! Producer, please support us!"
— Nana's self introduction

An eccentric part-timer maid of dubious age who claims to be an eternally 17-year-old alien Magical Girl originating from Planet Usamin. She's very nice, determined and hardworking, traits which are often overlooked due to her other rather eccentric qualities.

Nana spends most of the first season of the anime as part of 346-Pro's in-house Idol Cafe, but gets additional focus in the second season. As a "gimmick" idol, she's one of those directly affected by Mishiro's policies, and nearly drops her happy "Usamin" persona entirely to focus on her singing. It takes a pep-talk from Miku to get her to stay the course, and realize that she's a whole lot happier in her bunnygirl-alien persona.

She informally joins the Cinderella Project, and becomes part of Asterisk along with Natsuki Kimura, turning it into a four-member unit called Asterisk and Natsunana.

In Starlight Stage, she's part of the unit Yoi Otome.

  • Age Insecurity: A large reason for Nana's Running Gag about how she's an "eternal 17-year-old" is due to her insecurities regarding her age and occupation despite said age. While her exact age is unknown, she's heavily implied to be around her mid-to-late 20s.
  • Alien Invasion: Supposedly part of a Masquerade.
  • All Elections Are Serious Business: Her mother seems to think so.
  • Animal Motifs: Bunnies, of course, as part of her alien Magical Girl schtick as well as for added cuteness; she claims to come from the Planet Usamin, which is supposedly populated by people with rabbit ears. For anyone not getting the reference: usagi is Japanese for rabbit and mimi is Japanese for ears. Put them together and you get Usamin.
  • Bad Liar: She has a habit of not keeping track of the Usamin stories she tells, creating noticeable contradictions, or invents impossibly fanciful scenarios that even defy the imagination of children.
  • Blatant Lies:
    • Unlike Takane Shijou's case, Nana's claims of alienhood are presented unambiguously as an act. Many of her lines and comic appearances feature her clearly panicking and making things up as she goes along.
    • Her age. It's pretty obvious she isn't seventeen.
  • Butt-Monkey: The other Cinderella Girls constantly shoot holes in her alien fantasy, making her say more contradicting statements that only further embarrass her.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Fires several "special beam moves" during her song, as part of her Magical Girl act.
Nana Abe: "Heart wave! Moon wave!"
  • Catchphrase: The sound she makes to communicate with Planet Usamin, "Piipii☆"
  • Cloudcuckoolander: She's really devoted towards maintaining the alien and eternal seventeen persona.
  • Chuunibyou: She claims to be an "eternally 17" alien Magical Girl from the planet Usamin, even though she's obviously not an alien and there are several indications that she's much older than 17. However, her case is played in a more melancholy way since she doesn't merely pretend in order to be cool; it's strongly implied that she's very insecure about her age and that she's desperately clinging to her childhood fantasies to avoid thinking about it.
  • Cover Version: "Aoi Usagi" in Cute Jewelries 001.
  • Demoted to Extra: In the anime, even more than the other idols outside the main 14. She doesn't even appear to be an idol anymore, just an eccentric waitress at 346 Production's cafe. Pretty egregious considering she was in second place in the 2014 election.
    • However, supplementary materials reveals that Nana gets to appear on a radio talk show soon, implying she's getting back into the business. Minami congratulates her on this.
    • The second season has her making or made her idol debut and she had a segment for Muscle Castle. She also joins the Cinderella Girls project.
  • Fairytale Motifs: All her skill names mention fairytales in them.
  • Friendly Rivalry: Because the two are idols who use Animal Motifs and wear animal ears, Miku considers Nana an inspiration to strive for and a rival.
  • Gratuitous English: In "Märchen Debut!".
  • Hidden Depths: While she is, or plays, quirky most of the time, she often has moments of maturity which she takes up responsibilities or softly deliver great advises on things like life and work, only to immediately get praised for maturity then realize that she had nearly blown her cover, cue more quirky antics.
  • Human Aliens: Or so she claims to be; according to her, she's from the Planet Usamin, whose inhabitants are essentially humans with rabbit ears and magic powers. Unlike with Takane Shijou from the original Idolmaster games, where it's left ambiguous whether or not she's an alien, Nana definitely isn't an actual alien and it's just a bunch of stories she makes up.
  • Image Song: "Märchen Debut!" and "Märchen∞Metamorphose!"
  • In the Name of the Moon: Says words similar to the effect, due the Magical Girl qualities of her supposed Usamin abilities.
  • Insane Troll Logic: In the omake explaining why she joined the Asterisk unit in the anime adaptation: Since Natsuki was joining up and adding a second dose of Rock (alongside Riina) for the sake of balance it was necessary that she join too and add a second dose of Cute Animal (alongside Miku's cats) thus forming the eclectic unit 'ROCK&CAT + Bunny!'
  • Kinda Busy Here: Gets a call from her mother in the middle of her CD interview reminding her to vote. Meaning she's at least 20 years old, since that's the minimum voting age in Japannote .
  • Large Ham: As she becomes more excited in describing her Usamin identity, she tends to make more elaborate tall tales with greater inconsistences.
  • Magical Girl: Her stage gimmick is that she pretends to be a magical girl from the Planet Usamin. She even tries to uphold the gimmick when not on stage.
  • Maintain the Lie: She's a Chuunibyou in a similar vein to Ranko in that she claims to be an otherworldly being with magic powers, but unlike Ranko, is terrible at role-playing her imaginary identity. In addition, whereas Ranko maintains her persona without needing others to play along, Nana practically demands that observers acknowledge hers.
  • Meido: Her profession before becoming an idol. Even upon gaining global acclaim, she continues working as one at the 346 Production's maid cafe.
  • Moon Rabbit: The moon supposedly has something to do with the Usamin.
  • The Namesake: She was crowned Cinderella Girl for 2018.
  • Older Than They Look: Her height and looks could pass for a 17-year-old, but what details we know about her personal life point to her being much older than 17. There is a Yonkoma in which several idols are discussing the curse of being a Christmas cake to the younger idols. Nana has a noticeably guilty looking expression in the background.
    • Her team in Starlight Stage, Yoi Otome, is otherwise composed of idols 25 and up and has a song that heavily resembles enka.
  • Otaku: While not as obsessive as others, she loves anime and wants to be a professional voice actress.
  • Really 17 Years Old: Inverted. She claims to be "eternally 17", but there are a lot of clues indicating that this isn't true and she's actually older.
  • Righteous Rabbit: She invokes this trope in her rabbit-themed Magical Girl persona, claiming that she's come to save the world from evil aliens simply because it's the right thing to do.
  • Saying Too Much: Whenever she inadvertently slip phrases, memories, or comments that indicate she's older than seventeen.
  • Seven Is Nana: This connection is said to have contributed to her winning the 7th Cinderella Girls election.
  • Team Mom: During Starlight Stage's ''Atashi Ponkotsu Android'' commus. Lampsaded & Discussed by Anzu.
Anzu: I get it. She isn't a leader.
Uzuki: Uh? If she isn't a leader, what is it?
    Anzu: She's a mother!
    Uzuki: A-A mother....!?
Anzu: She's overprotective, always on the move, aware of everyone, likes to take care of people. That's neither a leader nor a maid! That's a mom!!
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The girly girl to Natsuki's tomboy.
  • Transformation Sequence: "Fairy Tail Change!"
  • Vague Age: Nana gets very flustered and defensive when her claims to eternal 17-year-old-hood are challenged, and though it isn't clear what her real age is, there are a lot of hints that she's much older than 17. In her School Uniform SR it's implied that she trotted out the "planet Usamin High School Uniform" because she got rid of her real one a long time ago.
  • Womanchild: As all the age related tropes cited previously provide strong evidence.

"Fufu, me becoming an idol, thinking about it is making my heart beat faster! Ah, but can I balance studying and work? Papa might get angry... if that happens, Producer-san, I'll be counting on you, alright?"
— Minami's self introduction

Minami is a 19 year old college student who loves to try out as many different things as possible, and being an idol was one of the things she wanted to give a try. She is in her college's lacrosse team and is very good at the sport, just like she's really good at most of the things she tries.

In the anime, she becomes grouped with Anastasia, and together, they form the unit Love Laika. Minami herself eventually becomes the overall leader of the Cinderella Project girls.

Come the second season however, her unit is another one that gets affected by Mishiro's shake-up of the idol division. With Anya scouted as a solo talent for Project KRONE, Love Laika becomes defunct until its reformation for the Winter Ball. Despite Anya worries, Minami supports Anya's decision to go solo. In the wake of this, she herself becomes a solo act under the Cinderella Girls banner, with Anya herself giving her support for Minami.

In Starlight Stage, she's part of the unit Einherjar and one of the duet unit Dea Aurora, alongside Kanade.

  • The Ace: Studies, sports, beauty pageants, idol work, Minami is really good at all of those.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: Suffice to say that the Minami introduced in the Cinderella Girls anime isn't the same Minami that the mobile game fandom had gotten used to, who started out as an idol because she wanted to see if she would be as good at it as she already was in everything else. She eventually gets associated with binge-drinking "adult" idols like Kaede and Mizuki (and indeed, picks up many of their bad habits, including said binge-drinking and maybe smoking as well) and nurtures a "mature" and downright sultry idol persona, complete with a perverted sense of humor. None of this makes it to the anime.
  • Beauty Contest: Took part in one.
  • Covert Pervert: In the game and its fandom only. None of this appears in her anime incarnation.
  • Cool Big Sis: Has the personality down, and an actual little brother to go with it.
    • Especially in the anime where she is the oldest member of the Cinderella Project group.
  • Cover Version: Has covered "Amairo no Kami no Otome" in Cool Jewelries 001.
    • Later covers Mio's "Mitsuboshi☆☆★" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 2.
    • She also covers "Alkatale", the opening theme for Summer Pockets in the collaboration between Key and Starlight Stage.
  • Daddy's Girl: Her "Papa" is rather protective of her.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: In her first two non-idolized cards, she used a ponytail. From her idolized from onwards, however, she's worn her hair loose.
  • French Maid Outfit: Wears one in one of her idolized S Rare cards, complete with a whip.
  • Heroic RRoD: In the anime — the stress and anxiety from becoming the leader of the Cinderella Girls eventually gets to her, and she experiences a fever just as the group's big performance arrives. She's utterly devastated because of this. As a result, Ranko is forced to take her place in Love Laika's segment.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Anastasia in the anime. The two are often seen together and even form a unit named "Love Laika".
  • Image Song: "Venus Syndrome" and "Voyage".
  • Japanese Ranguage: An unintentional negative one. In "Venus Syndrome", she constantly repeats the word "Venus," which the Japanese commonly pronounce as "Benus" and it sounds a lot like... well... just say "Benus" aloud three times fast.
  • The Leader: Grows into this role, and is acknowledged as such by the rest of the Cinderella Girls in the anime. She's also the center of the Einherjar unit in Starlight Stage.
  • You Are in Command Now: During the training camp in episode 12 of the anime, Minami is made the coordinator of the training proper by the Producer, who had to return to the city for a few days. By the end of the episode, she becomes the official leader of the Cinderella Girls for their big group performance.

Hobbies: Making clean copies of notes
"It's been decided, I'm the cutest. You knew that right, Producer-san? Of course you did! It's okay, I'll forgive you this time. In return, you'll have to help me prove the world how cute I am!"
— Sachiko's self introduction

Sachiko is a playful young girl with astounding confidence, priding herself in being the cutest. She denies all her failures and even while falling down an airplane she will try to keep a confident face. She's kind of a sadist, getting a kick out of showing other people how superior she is to them.

  • Alpha Bitch: What she strives to become.
  • Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better: After ninja-themed idol Ayame decides to take the stage in a stylish smoke bomb entrace befitting a ninja, Sachiko immediately tries to one-up her by declaring she will descend upon the stage from the sky; an entrance befitting an angel. The Producer signs her up for skydiving lessons. Much to her surprise.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Acts cute and adorable, especially to her fans, but friends and coworkers frequently see her twisted side.
  • Bolt of Divine Retribution: Thinks it's happening during her Drama CD.
  • Born Lucky / Born Unlucky: Amazingly enough, she's both. On the one hand, Sachiko has the innate talent and natural beauty to become the best at what she enjoys. On the other hand, Sachiko has Laser-Guided Karma and a rather bad habit of provoking it.
  • Break the Haughty: A popular subject in Sachiko fanart, takes place officially in her skydiving card. It also happens to her in manga skits and Drama CD. It's Ascended Fanon now.
  • Butt-Monkey: Other idols often tend to brush off her claims of being the cutest.
  • Cover Version: "KISS Shite" in Cute Jewelries 002.
  • Deliberately Cute Child: Being surrounded by a bunch of housewives and declared the cutest little girl in the world as a child would prove to be the defining moment of her life. It finally comes true with the 2013 Cinderella Girl group song. She's the cutest girl in the unit, because she's the sole Cute category idol (the other four are Cool category). She won this position by literally being voted as cutest of the Cute idols.
  • Everybody Must Get Stoned: In Syoko's story episode in Starlight Stage, Syoko wants everyone about to perform on stage with her channel their "inner Metal Sprit", by putting on make up and screaming out the things they feel unsatisfied about their lives. Sachiko refused at first fearing that it will ruin her image, she gleefully complied after eating a "honesty mushroom" from Syoko.
    • What she screamed after eating the mushroom was asking for everyone including her parents, her friends, her fans and the producer to please love her more.
    • It was revealed later that the "honesty mushroom" was nothing but an ordinary Eringi mushroom, and Sachiko was being herself all the time. The revelation caused Sachiko to immediately "go Syoko" from the embarrassment.
  • Forgot I Couldn't Swim: The result of pestering the Producer into getting her a mermaid themed publicity event at the city pool. She then tries to secretly take swimming lessons, but the Producer gets her off the hook by arranging her to pose on giant floats.
  • Hard Work Hardly Works: An interestingly averted case, Sachiko wants to play it straight and pose as a natural The Ace as she look down upon others, but it is evident in the cards that all her talents result from frequent and vigorous training from schoolwork to singing to idol posing, which all she intends to hide from others.
    • The Asian fandom summarized that Sachiko is basically like a swan, elegantly floating upon surface, but frantically striving underneath.
  • Hunter of His Own Kind: The standard skill for most of the girls in the game is to buff her own type, or debuff an opposing type. Sachiko's first S Rare was also the first card in the game to debuff its own kind, weakening enemy Cutes so that Sachiko could be the cutest.
  • Image Song: "To my darling..." and "Happy Girl!".
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Her holier-than-thou attitude is masking an inferiority complex.
  • It's All About Me: Gets upset if she isn't in the limelight.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She's been shown to be a 4.0 GPA student and will help other idols with their school work without asking anything in return. She's also very friendly with younger idols. All in all, while Sachiko has a huge ego, she doesn't intentionally want permanent harm on others.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Oh so much. She never gets away with doing something devious.
  • Meaningful Name: My Cute Self and the 142.. Sachiko, Koume, and Syoko are all 142 centimeters tall. The unit was originally planned to only be called The 142s for this reason, but Sachiko would never be satisfied without being the lead, thus she tagged the My Cute Self prefix. Koume and Syoko are generally Shrinking Violets, so they didn't object.
    • In the anime she gets to form a different group with Sae Kobayakawa and Yuki Himekawa, under the name KBYD (Kawaii Boku to Yakyuu Dosu e, which roughly translates to "My Cute Self and Ye Baseball Team").
  • Narcissist: Sachiko is a cute girl who knows she's cute, but still asks other people if she's cute, just so they know she's cute.
  • The Perfectionist: Towards school work, as hinted by her hobby.
  • Pride: Thinks highly of herself. Most of her cards begin with the title: Self Proclaimed. Doesn't help that she's naturally gifted at being an idol.
  • The Prima Donna: Considers herself to be the Producer's cutest idol.
  • Psychotic Smirk: Has this expression on occasion.
  • Sadist: Enjoys watching others fail to defeat her. It's very self-centered however: she doesn't want people to suffer for no reason or at the hands of others, just suffer because she is better at the task and they become aware of it.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: In universe, she isn't a top tier idol yet, but nonetheless acts like it.
  • Smug Smiler: Her default expression is a condescending smirk, which occasionally veers into a Psychotic Smirk.
  • Spoiled Brat: Has the attitude of one.
  • The Rival: Like Miku, she is one of the idols first encountered as rivals in jobs.
  • The Tease: Official artwork has her playing with the edge of her dress, in a gesture that seems she will show what's under it... but you know will never happen. Then there is also her 2nd card.
  • Tsundere: Type A. While Sachiko may speak rudely towards the Producer, to the point of treating him like a servant, in-game comments show hints she also has feelings for him. This becomes more clarified in her image song.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: The skydiving lessons mentioned above. She also doesn't know how to swim.

"Mayu came here, just to have Producer–san produce her. Ufu… it’s great isn’t it… could this be fate? Hey, you can also feel fate, can’t you? Right? Ufu… you will give Mayu your love, won’t you?"
— Mayu's self introduction

Former photography model who quit her career upon seeing the Producer at first sight. She strives to become his finest idol, so they can always be together... forever.

In Starlight Stage, she's part of the unit Masque:Rade.

  • Bait-and-Switch: In episode 14 of the anime, Mayu has finally gone yandere for the Producer! Only it turns out to be another Producer he's a coworker with and not the one in charge of the Cinderella Project.
  • Beautiful Dreamer: She regularly breaks into the Producer's home in the middle of the night to watch him sleep.
  • Because Destiny Says So: The red string that ties her and the Producer together.
  • Berserk Button: Trying to make her not talk about the Producer, which causes her to question why the Producer isn't reciprocating her feelings, triggering a Madness Mantra that the Producer needs to reciprocate her feelings.
  • Career Versus Man: Originally had a successful photo modeling career. She gave it up and restarted anew, as a music idol, so she could be with the Producer.
  • Chains of Love: A ribbon actually, but the same purpose nonetheless.
  • Character Exaggeration: Zig-zagged in the anime. Her yandere traits don't show themselves except in her A Day in the Limelight episode in episode 14, but when they do show, it turns out she's completely smitten with... her producer, who is NOT the Producer we know.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She doesn't like how the Producer is popular with the other idols, constantly questioning if producing them is more fun.
  • Cover Version: "Dare Yori Suki Nano ni" in Cute Jewelries 002.
  • Crash-Into Hello: How you first meet her, as shown in Starlight Stage.
  • Creepy Child: Whenever anyone asks what she does on her off time or what she thinks of the Producer.
  • Creepy Monotone: Slips into them in the Yonkoma skits.
  • Empty Eyes: She has them for the Producer. Played straight in the rhythm game as well.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Played with. The majority of idols write off Mayu's personality as simply weird behavior, but the more savvy characters are aware she's slipped into dangerous territory. The Drama CD presents the Producer as entirely aware Mayu is Yandere, and quietly taken upon himself to correct her behavior.
  • Glacier Waif: Her stats in the mobile game.
  • Hairpin Lockpick: Silly Producer, locks are no match for Mayu.
  • Hot Springs Episode: One of her S Rare cards. It also implies she sneaked into the male side of the bath to have alone time with the Producer.
  • I Can See You: She likes the Producer to know she's always watching.
  • Image Song: "Everyday Dream" and "My Sweet Honeymoon".
  • Improbable Weapon User: The long red ribbon she wears and carries everywhere. Fan Art depicting her in Murder the Hypotenuse, often show it used for strangulation or having the Producer Bound and Gagged.
  • Love Makes You Crazy: Others have noted that she's incredibly friendly and helpful whenever the Producer is not around. But as soon as he enters the room, she becomes an entire different person. It's implied she was an ordinary girl until she first met the Producer.
  • Madness Mantra: "Do you like me? Do you like me? Do you like me?"
  • Mask of Sanity: She maintains the illusion until the Producer is around.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: When it comes to the Producer. Doesn't mind letting him see her in nothing but a bath towel.
  • Not Good with Rejection: Begins slipping into Yandere mode whenever the Producer hesitates to respond that he romantically loves her. He usually responds by praising a particular aspect of her personality or positive trait she has... but has avoided from actually saying, "I love you."
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: Says it word for word.
  • Red String of Fate: She carries a long red ribbon with her which invokes this trope.
  • Self-Proclaimed Love Interest: Openly admits on the air that she loves the Producer. Then wants him to do the same.
  • Shout-Out: She literally says Future Diary during her Drama CD. Twice!!
  • Single-Target Sexuality: The Producer. All she ever talks about on her Drama CD are the reasons why.
  • Stalker Shrine: Her S Rare+ card illustration shows her surrounded by photos of the Producer, bottles of hospital medication, heart-shaped pillows, a pair of scissors thrust into one pillow, and the telltale expression of obsession. Her favorite possessions are photos of her and the Producer doing things together.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Her S Rare card illustration shows that she broke into the Producer's car and hid in the backseat. She keeps track of the Producer using GPS and secretly takes daily photos of him.
  • Stalking Is Funny if It Is Female After Male: Being the official Yandere and all that.
  • Stalking is Love: Follows the Producer around everywhere.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: Her anime incarnation is a master of these. She doesn't give off a noticeable presence others can immediately detect, can't be found unless she wants to be, and seems to have a supernatural way of appearing out of nowhere.
  • Surprisingly Creepy Moment: Her song has an upbeat tune about a girl in love... but the lyrics describe an unconditional obsessive love that will never fade.
  • Third-Person Person: The moment Mayu stops referring to herself in third person, it means she's slipping into Cute and Psycho mode.
  • Yandere:
    • In addition to the aforementioned tropes, like the other idols her Image Song Drama CD contains a series of radio skits that reveal the character's mindset and hobbies. Mayu spends the entire show obsessing over her love for the Producer, detailing the excessive extremes she adores the him, then eventually slipping into a Cute and Psycho mode from excitement. The Producer manages to calm her down before she goes Murder the Hypotenuse.
    • One of Mayu's in-game comments has her noticing the Producer with a new necktie, suddenly volunteering to fix it, and then questioning if it was a gift from another woman... the implication being she could easily strangle him if that's the case.
    • The anime visually depicts Maya's disturbing behavior when it comes to her Producer. She exhibits creepy stalker traits for tasks that are indirectly related to him, and goes up to eleven in his actual presence.

     Koume Shirasaka

Koume Shirasaka

Age: 13
Height: 142 cm
Weight: 34 kg
Birthday: March 28
Blood type: AB
Three sizes: 65-50-70
Hobbies: Going to haunted locations, watching horror movies.
"See, when I'm watching horror films, it's when I am really happy...b-but becoming... an idol... seems even more... fun? Pro-producer-san, will you... please teach me? How to... be an idol..."
— Koume's self introduction

An innocent, introverted girl fascinated by horrific death, violent gore, and the grim supernatural.

In the second season of Cinderella Project anime, Koume Shirasaka joins Ranko's unit, "Rosenburg Engel", re-naming it to Rosenburg Alptraumnote .

  • A Bloody Mess: She wears a light sweater that appears to have thick ketchup stains on it... or maybe it's real. No one has the courage to ask her. Some fans believed it was just a design to her clothes, since another idol had the same style as hers.
  • Ascended Extra: Not in the anime's first season proper, but she guest-stars in Rosenburg Engel's Magihour, serving as Ranko's Translator Buddy in place of Miria.
    • At the end of Episode 21, it is announced that she would be joining Rosenburg Engel (renamed to Rosenburg Alptraum) for the concert in the next episode. They continue to pair up in episode 26 for a shoot.
  • Cover Version: "Metropolitan Museum" in Cool Jewelries 002.
  • Creepy Child: When she goes overboard with horror and gore.
  • Creepy Children Singing: "Chiisana Koi no Misshitsu Jiken", starts off with a chorus of them. Koume suddenly whispering a verse in the song also counts.
  • Creepy Shadowed Undereyes: Imparts a subtle undead vibe.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Even at her creepiest, she never has ill intentions.
  • Darker and Edgier: Because of her Nightmare Fetishist traits, the radio show on her Drama CD.
  • Dramatic Ellipsis: Puts emphasis on her shy nature and unfamiliarity at holding conversations.
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: Enjoys dressing as such, which is the theme for her idol outfits.
  • Everybody Must Get Stoned: See Hoshi Syoko's entry, when channeling the "Metal Spirit", Koume yelled that she can be as loud as anybody else when she wants to (but she was still yelling in a volume lower than other idols in the vicinity).
  • Final Girl: Cast as this in a school-invaded-by-zombies flick during one Idol Produce event.
  • Ghost Story: Can tell them for hours and enjoys hearing new ones. Hers tend to be of Urban Legends variety. She gives one during her Drama CD and scares the Zombie co-host.
  • Humans Are the Real Monsters: Doesn't say it aloud, but she's sincerely afraid of humans who are still alive. Only the Producer and her close friends in the production office are the exceptions. Fridge Horror if you consider that because she talks to ghosts and learns the horrible ways they were murdered, she has lost trust in the living.
  • I Lied: Says this whenever she notices her murder stories or revelation about seeing ghosts are scaring someone too much. Though she likes frightening people, she doesn't like seeing others permanently traumatized. In reality she's probably not lying.
  • I See Dead People: All the time, and likes to take photos of them. She also tries to tell this to the other idols, which creeps them out.
  • Image Song: "Chiisana Koi no Misshitsu Jiken" (Small Love Incident Behind Closed Doors) and "Bloody Festa".
  • Inappropriate Hunger: When watching a horror movie.
  • The Ingenue: Very innocent, even for her young age. This contrasts with her also being a Nightmare Fetishist.
  • Innocent Inaccurate: Loves to describe gore, violence and murder in excessive detail. She's sincerely confused when people beg her to stop.
  • Keeper of Forbidden Knowledge: Knows a lot about things related to necromancy and the spirit world. It's often hinted that she's only repeating what some unseen entity is telling her.
  • Kensington Gore: Though she'll use ordinary ketchup if without.
  • Kids Shouldn't Watch Horror Films: An interesting twist on the trope. She regularly watches and enjoys horror movies despite being only 13, but when she watches horror movies, other people get traumatized because of the haunting phenomena that follows her.
  • Lightmare Fuel: iM@S is still a Sugar Bowl series, so Koume's details avoid becoming too gory. Most of her horror moments are played for humor.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: There's no solid proof that the strange events happening around her, are really paranormal.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: So very, very much so.
  • Nightmare Fuel Coloring Book: Likes to decorate the office as a haunted house, make food look like a murder victim, draw scary pictures, take photos of ghosts... the list is practically endless.
  • Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: There are times she honestly tries to avoid being creepy, but still scares surrounding idols. Not involving something related to ghosts or death is actually hard for her.
  • Ominous Music Box Tune: "Chiisana Koi no Misshitsu Jiken", has it with lyrics spoken in an "evil chant" to go with it.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: Maybe. She has a compuslive obsession with blood, finds sunlight painful, and spirits seem to obey her. The unusual practice of wearing sleeves concealing her hands, is something attributed to Kyonshi hiding their unnatural nails (aka the Jiangshi, often called Chinese vampires).
  • Our Zombies Are Different: Zombie in the Drama CD. Really the Producer in a costume.
  • The Quiet One: Has trouble dealing with the living. Even when she convinces herself she's accompanied with Zombie, she's even more softspoken than Chieri in her CD interview.
  • Screaming Woman: "Chiisana Koi no Misshitsu Jiken", during the interlude.
  • Shrinking Violet: She gets nervous when interacting with people. Her Drama CD emphasizes it to epic levels. She's afraid of being in the radio booth without the Producer at her side, but keeps talking about the frightening supernatural things that make her happy and feel safe.
  • Song Style Shift: "Chiisana Koi no Misshitsu Jiken", becomes more creepy after the interlude when it suddenly changes key.
  • Snowy Screen of Death: "Chiisana Koi no Misshitsu Jiken", ends with an audio version of it.
  • Spirit Advisor: Frequently holds conversations with ghosts.
  • Subliminal Seduction: There's something being said in "Chiisana Koi no Misshitsu Jiken", after the screaming interlude but it sounds unintelligible. When the segment is played backward it becomes, "Kii chatta? Kyou kara o tomodachi ne." The English translation would roughly be, "Hear that? It's a friend I met today."
  • Tareme Eyes: Along with her bangs, her eyes give her very sweet, innocent look.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: While not exactly a food, she enjoys drowning things in ketchup and imagining it's blood.
  • Translator Buddy: One of the few to understand Ranko's Chuuni speak.
  • The Trickster: Likes to creep out the Producer. Sometimes she does a harmless prank on other idols.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behaviour: Strongly averted. Her sincere innocence is the anchor that keeps her from crossing the line.
  • Yandere: "Chiisana Koi no Misshitsu Jiken" lyrics equate love with the feeling of murder. Koume herself is not yandere though.
  • Zombie Apocalypse: Wants it to happen because she thinks it would be so cute. It's on her S Rare+ Card, which is obviously a play and she is the main heroine.

Age: 16
Height: 153 cm

Birthday: June 11

Three sizes: 79-57-80
Hobbies: Collecting four-leaf clovers.
"I'm... Ogata... Ogata Chieri. Um... uh... ah... I-I'll do my... best... If you were to not leave me... behind... I'd be... very... happy."
— Chieri's self introduction

Chieri is a very shy girl without much confidence in herself, but she is also very hardworking and willing to do her best to change. She also seems to fear being abandoned by the Producer, often asking if he is going to leave her eventually.

In the anime, Chieri joins Anzu and Kanako in the idol unit Candy Island.

In Starlight Stage, she's part of the unit Masque:Rade.

  • Actor Allusion: See Hidden Depths.
  • Animal Motifs: Discussed in one 4koma with Uzuki, Rin, and Mika. Chieri is compared to a bunny for being small and cute.
    • Comes up again in the bonus track for We're the Friends, where Nana takes Chieri and the New Generations trio to a maid cafe (after failing to find a place where Chieri could pet some real bunnies), and dresses them up as animal maids.
    • Eventually ascended with the release of her Fluffy Bunny set. Chieri develops Cuteness Proximity for actual bunnies, while everyone else, especially Takumi in the animal set, develop Cuteness Proximity for her.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: In the bonus track of Cute Jewelries 002, Chieri copies Sae's Kyoto-ben dialect, Ranko's "drown in the darkness", and Kirari's "nyowa~" and "Kirarin Beam~" (which she changes to "Chieri Beam~").
  • Character Exaggeration: Subverted. Her dependency issues aren't focused on the Producer, but on the other idols like Kanako and Anzu instead.
  • Cool Big Sis: Towards to some of the younger idols like Kozue, Yukimi, and Yoshino.
  • Cover Version: "Humming ga Kikoeru", the 3rd OP of Chibi Maruko-chan.
    • Later covers Rika's "DOKIDOKI Rhythm" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 3.
  • Four-Leaf Clover: Collects them as her hobby. Also wears four-leaf clover accessories, and/or clothes with clovers in them. They're her trademark object, you could say. She recounts how, as a child, her mother is the one who told her that four-leaf clovers bring happiness. During a family outing, she spent so much time looking for one that she got separated from her parents. When they finally found her, she thought they'd be upset, but instead, they were just relieved to see her safe. Now, she collects them as a reminder of that happiness.
  • The Generic Girl: Thinks she's this in Cute Jewelries 002. The other girls try to help her with finding another quality to add to her character besides being the "Clover Idol", resulting in the Borrowed Catchphrase section above.
  • Hidden Depths: She's surprisingly adept at Taiko no Tatsujin, shown in episode 26 when she plays the first season's opening and gets a 300+ combo on Oni difficulty. Possibly doubles as a Mythology Gag, as she also received a card for a Taiko cross-promotion. This trait was apparently inspired by Naomi Ozora's hobby of playing said game.
  • Image Song: "Kazeiro Melody" and "cherry*merry*cherry".
  • Imagine the Audience Naked: Does a variant of this in Episode 9 of the anime, visualizing the audience as frogs during the quiz show to help herself overcome her Performance Anxiety.
  • Parental Neglect: Part of why she became an idol in the first place was for her to be less lonely.
  • Performance Anxiety: She's not too confident in front of an audience. In Episode 9 of the anime, she has to picture the audience as frogs to help her overcome her fear.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: Due to the Parental Neglect mentioned above, she has a tendency to cling to the people she becomes close to.
  • The Quiet One: To the point that she was repeatedly buzzered by Staff-san in order to speak up louder in her drama.
  • Running Gag: She brings a four-leaf clover to her radio interview to motivate herself, but a leaf keeps falling off after every segment.
    • Chieri doesn't appreciate others thinking that she eats clovers like a bunny.
  • Stealth Pun: Her dress on her normal card is patterned with... wait for it... cherries.
  • Those Two Girls: With Kanako in the anime.
  • Tsundere: Not one herself, but had to ad-lib a tsundere confession in her drama, done to hilarious effect.
  • When She Smiles: Even Mio thinks so during her brief interview in episode 4. Other idols also love to comment when she's happy.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Comes up in Episode 9 of the anime, where the losing team has to perform a bungie jump. While everyone else (especially Sachiko) reacts appropriately, Chieri ends up fainting backstage from the shock.

"Как Вас зовут? …Hah, what's your name? I’m asking. What is your name? …oo, is it? …Меня зовут Аня. Anya is… um… nickname. I’m Anya… Anastasia. Nice to meet you, Producer."
— Anastasia's self introduction

An aristocratic half-Russian who adores astronomy and celestial constellations. Upon earning second place in the 2013 Cinderella Girl Election, she was featured in an Image Song with the remaining top five winners. It eventually lead to her induction into the Cinderella Master collection.

In the anime, Anastasia is grouped with Minami, and together they make up the idol unit Love Laika. Come the second season, however, Anya is one of those scouted by Mishiro for Project KRONE. She eventually joins it, with support from Minami, and in the process renders Love Laika defunct until its reformation for the Winter Ball.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Her papa's nickname for her is Anya, which often causes fans to associate her with cats. She also asks the Producer to call her as this.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Was looked down on as Japanese in Russia and vice versa.
  • Be Yourself: The advice that Staff-san gives Anastasia in her drama track on how to be an idol, after she picks up several influences from her new idol friends that he doesn't agree with (Such as Kaede's lame puns, Ranko's catch phrase, and Miku's verbal tics).
  • But Not Too Foreign: Her mother is Japanese and her father is Russian.
  • Cover Version: "Miagete Goran Yoru no Hoshi o" in Cool Jewelries 002.
    • Later covers Rin's "Never Say Never" in 346Pro IDOL Selection vol. 2.
  • Daddy's Girl: Absolutely adores her father.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Her second place victory in the 2013 election. She was the only winner without an exclusive Image Song and did not have a preselected voice actress immediately scheduled. Moreover, she was devoid of a S Rare+ card in the mobile game (think final or ultimate evolution), which is an indication of Namco recognizing a Cinderella Girl becoming popular. Since winning the election, she has been awarded a S Rare+ card.
  • Face of a Thug: Anastasia's appearance has made people assume she's cold-hearted and even scary when, really, she's a friendly, curious and even mischievous girl.
  • Friendless Background: Due to her mixed ancestry (and the baggage that came with it), she had a pretty isolated life before becoming an idol.
  • Glorious Mother Russia: Proud of her Russian heritage. Except for the Cold War/Space Race stuff, she avoids the Soviet Union era, focusing on traditional and Imperial Russia. On Love Laika's Magic Hour special, she admits that the unit was named after the Soviet dog that went into space.
  • Gratuitous Russian: Sprinkled throughout her sentences.
  • Half-Breed Angst: She didn't exactly have an easy life before becoming an idol: she was looked down on as Japanese when she was in Russia, and was looked down on as Russian when she came back to Japan. Her lack of proficiency in either language didn't help. Even after being more comfortable with herself after becoming an idol, her backstory is still fairly fresh in her mind.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Minami in the anime. The two are often seen together and even form a unit named "Love Laika".
  • Icy Blue Eyes: From her father's side of the bloodline.
  • Image Song: "You're stars shine on me" and "Takusan!".
    • As part of Project Krone in the anime, "Nebula Sky".
  • The Ingenue: Perhaps because of the language barrier, she acts naïve about things and is occasionally literal minded. Japanese humor and cultural nuances also tend to confuse her, often resulting in Anastasia mimicking another idol's bad habits under the mistaken belief its ordinary behavior.
  • Lineage Comes from the Father: Her father is Russian, and she's more or less the official Russian idol.
  • No Full Name Given: The name of her family has not been revealed.
  • Poirot Speak: Peppers her dialog with Russian words. Common phrases, like "yes" and "hello", are always in Russian.
  • The Rival: Another idol who made her first appearance as a boss battle.
  • Stock Foreign Name: Anastasia is one of the most well known Russian names outside of Russia, because of controversial hoaxes that Princess Anastasia survived the Russian Revolution.
  • Third-Person Person: Often refers to herself as "Anya" from time to time, likely because Japanese doesn't seem to be her first language as she started living in Japan only 5 years ago.
  • Trrrilling Rrrs: Part of the Russian language.
  • Tsurime Eyes: Her most noticeable feature.
  • You No Take Candle: In the anime, Anastasia speaks in broken Japanese.

Age: 15
Height: 142 cm
Weight: 35 kg
Birthday: June 6
Blood type: B
Three sizes: 73-53-75
Hobbies: Mushroom cultivation
"Mushroom... Mushroom... Lonely girl, Hoshi Syoko♪ ...Ah, yes, I-I'm here... Well, I-I've been here for a while now.. b-but t-to have your eyes on me, you have quite good taste. I'll do it, idol or whatever. Fufu."
— Syoko's self introduction

A meek, lonely girl who spends most of her time cultivating mushrooms. Having grown up without friends, she treats mushroom plants as close companions. When on stage or excited, she turns into an entirely different person who's boisterous and decidedly Ax-Crazy.

Has an interesting Japanese otaku culture reference of calling people who are socially adept and live fufilling lives "riajyu(リア充)", which is mostly used by self-depreciating otakus who (usually jokingly) envy people who have a life outside of their own roon and the internet. Syoko seems to share that envy and expression despite not surfing the net often, suggesting such envy resulting from her loneness might be the source of her Ax-Crazy persona. However, when Syoko uses the phrase, it is usually in comedic situations.

  • Acquired Poison Immunity: To lethal mushrooms. At worst they would cause a Mushroom Samba.
  • Ascended Extra: Occasionally shown alongside Koume, but doesn't stick out as much. In season two, she's recruited by Mishiro of all people to start a band with Natsuki.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Mushrooms. Words or syllables that sound like the name of a fungus will also do it.
  • Ax-Crazy: Her alternate personality and nature when performing on stage.
  • Badass Boast: "GO TO HELL!!!"
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: She's more interested in keeping the Producer her friend, than her idol career.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: When traumatized or excited she quickly becomes Ax-Crazy.
  • Catchphrase: "Because we're friends."
  • Characterization Marches On: There is a Yonkoma featuring Syoko talking to a bed of mushrooms in a forest. She sadly tells them that she might not be seeing them for a long time — perhaps not at all — because she's found a new purpose in life (being an idol) and has human friends. The mushrooms suddenly blossom, as if approving she no longer needs them and wishing her the best. This strip is linked to a S Rare card illustration, that upgrades into a S Rare+ that shows Syoko performing on stage without being Ax-Crazy and remaining comfortable she's in her normal Extreme Doormat personality.
  • Companion Cube: Her mushrooms.
  • Cover Version: "Kurenai" in Passion Jewelries 002.
  • Creepy Loner Girl: Syoko is an introverted, neurotic and friendless young girl, has an unkempt appearance, is incredibly socially awkward, and tends to talk more to mushrooms than actual people. All she's missing is the dark hair.
  • Cute and Psycho: Syoko can slip in and out of her Ax-Crazy personality without warning. One moment she's talking about how cute mushrooms spores are, and the next she's screaming how everyone should burn in Hell. Her psychotic episodes tend to be Large Ham moments, so they're far more funny than terrifying.
  • Death Metal: Obviously her musical specialty.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Doesn't show any of the Ax-Crazy side at first, so it can be quite shocking to newcomers.
  • Everybody Must Get Stoned: No substance usage, only suggestions. In the her story episode in Starlight Stage, Syoko wants every one about to perform on stage with her channel their "inner Metal Sprit", by putting on make up and screaming out the things they feel unsatisfied about their lives.
    • said dissatisfaction of Syoko herself is her envy of socially adept youths, couples in particular.
  • Extreme Doormat: Her dominant personality.
  • Facial Markings: Usually in the shape of a five-point star.
  • Femme Fatalons: Sometimes in a mismatched appearance to look chaotic.
  • Freaky Fashion, Mild Mind: Leather, chains, and metal spikes.
  • Friendless Background: Her Ax-Crazy personality and Imaginary Friend psychosis is the result of social isolation. It's alluded she been The Woobie for many years. This all changed upon a chance encounter with the Producer, who became her very first friend and then introduced her to the other idols of the production agency. She is very self-conscious to ensure she doesn't do anything that would upset the Producer and cause him to go away. He's always reassuring her it won't ever happen.
  • Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: The producer uses the buzzer to this effect multiple times in her radio interview to make Syoko settle down. Up until the ending segment, where she gets too hyped up and simply rants louder than the Producer's impotent buzzer mashing. The drama track of Passion Jewelries! 002 reveals that Syoko's Ax-Crazy persona will eventually wear herself out and go dormant again when whatever made her excited is removed. Airi and Aiko try various ways to keep Syoko from snapping; Akane on the other hand, keeps throwing gas (mushrooms?) on the fire.
  • Girliness Upgrade: Two cards feature her on stage as an idol without the heavy metal getup. On both she's awkwardly onstage in a cutesy dress looking vaguely confused. One is part of a set that pairs her with Mirei Hayasaka and Nono Morikubo as the unit "Individuals".
  • Hair Metal: Showcases elements of it.
  • Harsh Vocals: In "Dokutake Densetsu", an uncredited male background singer does this all over the place to augment Syoko.
  • Hollywood Autism: Most of her habitual quirks and offhand laziness are best explained by her being this.
  • The Hyena: She's tends to quietly giggle at her own words when in the Extreme Doormat persona. Another sign of her Cute and Psycho nature. When shifting into Ax-Crazy mode it morphs to a full Evil Laugh.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: She always seeks the Producer to reassure they're friends. She's shown attempting to make friends with some of her fellow idols in the supplementary comics as well. However, she tends to scare them off by mistake.
  • Idiot Hair: Has a long strand of hair sticking out, emphasizing her kind of unhinged attitude.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: In her mind, mushrooms are sentient living creatures with feelings and personalities. They even speak to her. Syoko will still eat the mushrooms... sometimes after torturing them and listening to their pleas to be spared.
  • Image Song: "Dokutake Densetsu" and "PANDEMIC ALONE".
  • Large Ham: Everything she ends up saying.
  • Laughing Mad: Various variations of "HYAHA!"
  • Metal Scream: She uses it for normal speech, so it's only natural for her singing voice.
  • Mood-Swinger: Confusion, excitement, or stress usually causes her personality switches.
  • Mushroom Samba: Interpretations that believe the shrooms make her Cute and Psycho.
  • No Indoor Voice: Screams out everything she says.
  • Open the Iris: Has large and slightly dullish irises that evoke a subtle nudge towards her psychological imbalance. Somewhat similar to Dull Eyesof Unhappiness, but not quite as lifeless and still reflecting light.
  • Power Trio: Becomes the Passion representative of both "My Cute Self and the 142s" (with Sachiko and Koume) and "Individuals" (with Mirei Hayasaka and Nono Morikubo).
  • The Quiet One: Very timid for the most part. Likes to hide alone in dark spaces and talk to her mushrooms.
  • Rockers Smash Guitars: One S Rare+ card showing her tearing apart a microphone while making a "Sign of the Devil" gesture towards the crowd.
  • Scary Musician, Harmless Music: Given this is iM@S we're talking about.
  • Shout-Out: Her idol persona draws inspiration from KISS. She wears metal tags with the Cinderella Girls logo written in the Metallica style.
  • Shrinking Violet: When in the office she hides under the Producer's desk, though partly to keep her mushrooms away from too much light. Nono Morikubo is sometimes hiding under the desk next to it.
  • The Slacker: Syoko isn't lazy in the classical sense, but outside of mushroom cultivation she has little self motivation or the initiative to do anything. She always moves at her own pace and is very laidback until her other persona kicks in. Syoko also repeatedly forgets daily things like combing her hair or changing clothes. That being said: she doesn't shy away from assignments and will give 110% effort when asked to do something.
  • Spell My Name With An S: The official Romanization of her name as shown on her cards is Syoko, though other places use its more common romanization, Shoko.
  • Split Personality: Her dominant personality is an Extreme Doormat. The second personality is an Ax-Crazy wild side. She exhibits additional personas through ventriloquism with her mushrooms.
  • Theme Music Power-Up: In her Cinderella Radio interview, every time she slips into her stage persona is accompanied by a death metal guitar riff.
  • Those Two Girls: With Koume in the anime. Both are also Ranko's roommates.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Finding a best friend in Koume Shirasaka. Though the pair tend to unsettle other idols with their extreme quirks, Syoko and Koume are completely at ease with each other's company and hobbies. Koume has begun teaching Syoko about horror movies, while Syoko has been showing Koume the joys of mushroom caretaking. To a lesser extent, Syoko also spends her off time with Sachiko Koshimizu, Mayu Sakuma, and Nono Morikubo.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Mushrooms.
  • Trrrilling Rrrs: Foul mouthed and talks like Japanese Delinquents, including the "rolled R" trait.
  • Unkempt Beauty: She doesn't do anything with her hair.
  • Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises: Another sign she's falling or already fallen into insanity.

"Wh-what?! Wh-why I would like to become an idol?! That's something impossible! I-it's not like I want to... become cuter... or something like that. I mean, I'm being serious! Completely serious!"
— Nao's self introduction

Friends with Rin Shibuya and Karen Hojo. They went to the same middle school, and were reunited through their production agency. She tries to put on an outward veneer of aloof coolness, in part because she's very embarrassed by her somewhat nerdy tastes and love of the excessively cute and frilly.

Nao, much like her friend Karen, appear as part of the audience during the finale of the anime's first season. Nao's background was slightly tweaked for the second season of the Cinderella Girls — while she and Karen both attend the same school as Rin, they're not actually personally familiar with her. Eventually it is revealed that the two of them are also idols under 346-Pro, and had a debut single actually lined up... until, that is, Mishiro stepped into the picture.

She, along with Karen and Rin, are part of the cool-type core unit "Triad Primus". The anime made the unit a part of Project Krone.

  • Bad Liar: Due to her habitual tendency towards Suspiciously Specific Denial.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows
  • Bland-Name Product: Her very first card's original outfit had her wearing a rock band t-shirt, "Nilvana". This was redrawn in April 2012.
  • Butt-Monkey: Constantly being on the receiving end of all sorts of teasing from Karen and Rin, as well as several other of her friends, makes her this trope.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: She's terrible at honestly conveying her feelings in general, unable to admit to her love of cute idol outfits, the fun she has on stage, or her fondness for the Producer. She's also stubborn about expressing affection with her friends, such as trying to pass off her frequent visits when Karen is sick as "I just happened to be in the area!" Or claiming the extravagant gifts she brought along were just extras she had lying around.
  • Caught in the Rain: Her S Rare card illustration.
  • Cover Version: "Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari", the 1st ED of Bakemonogatari.
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: Not as extreme as other idols, but she uses the style.
  • Fascinating Eyebrow: Her Normal and S Rare card illustrations.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Makes comments about wanting to look cute, wearing cute clothes, and making cute poses. She's a Cool Type idol.
  • Image Song: "2nd SIDE" and "Neo Beautiful Pain".
  • Nurse with Good Intentions: Between her and Rin, Nao is the one who fusses over Karen more, occasionally to the point of annoyance.
  • Oddly Visible Eyebrows
  • One-Steve Limit: There's the other (and not tsundere-ish) Nao, and yet another Nao in SideM.
  • Otaku: She would never admit it to "normal" people, but one Starlight Stage loading screen shows her enthusiastically discussing a Magical Girl show with Hina and Chika. However, it seems like she became more comfortable about her hobbies over time, and eventually she would sing "Otaku is LOVE!" as part of Nijiiro Dreamer with Hina and Nana.
  • Retcon: The game portrays Nao and Karen as old friends of Rin, with the three of them knowing each other even before their idol debuts. The anime instead depicts a different backstory, where Nao and Karen are simply schoolmates of Rin who don't actually meet her until Episode 14.
  • Sexy Santa Dress: Christmas Special card set.
  • Status Buff: All her game cards feature it.
  • Those Two Girls: Part of a regular three girl group along with Rin and Karen.
  • Tsundere: Type A. She uses all the classical tsundere lines.
Nao Kamiya: "It... it's not like I feel happy wearing them or anything!"

"You want me to become an idol? But, training, practicing, raising to the top, willpower and physical strength are not really my thing, I'm not that kinda character. I don't have the energy to do all that. Even like that, would you still want me? Or no?"
— Karen's self introduction

A sickly young woman who's friends with Nao and Rin. Despite her condition, she gets better and manages to become a true idol through producing.

See Nao's entry for Karen's changed background for the Cinderella Girls anime.

In the anime, her, along with Nao and Rin were chosen to form a new unit, "Triad Primus", as part of Project Krone. While she didn't want to miss a chance to make her debut and really wanted to sing with Rin, Karen does feel she did wrong by asking Rin to consider joining Triad Primus.

In

In Starlight Stage, she took part in another unit named Masque:Rade.

  • Bait-and-Switch: Her Drama CD interview starts normally at first, but she passes out shortly into it. The rest of the interview continues in her bedroom, with her mother occasionally peeking in to tease her about being alone with the Producer.
  • Character Development: Because of her sickness, she had difficulty doing her studies and catching up to her friends's activities, making her cynical and fatalistic about her condition on her days before she become an idol. Even after scouted as an idol, she still had her bad personality and complained about lacking stamina for idol work in many of her earliest cards. Around the point of her New Year's S Rare she's built up her endurance, and the exercise of dance routines has improved her health. She also becomes far less irritable and more hopeful since she's not exhausted and uncomfortable after work anymore. Her Autumn SR Card later on comes complete with a 4koma in which Nao and Rin fuss over Karen, asking that she not push herself too hard. Karen responds by racing ahead of them both with Rin's dog, daring them to catch up.
  • Cover Version: "Hotarubi", the ED of Tales of Legendia, in Cool Jewelries 002.
  • Fairytale Wedding Dress: Featured as an S Rare+ card illustration.
  • The Gadfly: She likes to tease other idols. Her target is usually Nao, but she sometimes tease other idols such as Mika in Starlight Stage main commu chapter 17 and Uzuki in Starlight Stage's "STORY" event commu.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Subverted. Though she does have a trademark drill pigtails, she's famous for always changing her hair style for all of her cards.
  • Heroic BSoD: She was originally still a sickly person when she was scouted to be an idol; That she can still collapse and go back to the hospital. Though still anemic and prone to fever, after getting enough exercise and having her dream to become an idol fulfilled, her health has considerably improved and her illness completely gone, which shows that her poor mental condition was the reason preventing her full recovery. She even actually gave up on living life properly at one point prior to her scouting.
  • Image Song: "Hakka" and "Frozen Tears".
  • The Namesake: She was crowned Cinderella Girl for 2020.
  • One-Steve Limit: No, this is not the other Karen.
  • Soap Opera Disease: Not exactly stated what she suffers from, but it fits the symptoms of this as she missed a grade and spent more than half of her whole childhood in the hospital.
  • Those Two Girls: Part of a regular three-girl group with Rin and Nao.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Fries.

— Sae's self introduction

A cultured and refined girl, raised on traditional Japanese values.

In the second season of the Cinderella Girls anime, it's revealed that she's part of an the idol unit KBYD along with Sachiko and Yuki.

  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Her card's special abilities are tailored for maximum offense.
  • Ascended Extra: In Episode 2 of the anime, she made a small appearance in an interview, alongside Miho.
    • She gets a more prominent role in Episode 9, forming a team with Sachiko and Yuki.
  • Cover Version: "Mata Kimi ni Koishiteru" in Cute Jewelries 002.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Despite Momoka appearing in the animated PV for "Onegai Cinderella", Sae was chosen for an Image Song CD in the sixth batch of Cinderella Master.
  • Image Song: "Hanakanzashi" (Floral Hairpin) and "Usubeni".
  • Kimono Is Traditional: Wears them as an everyday outfit.
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: Has what Americans call the Valley Girl accent... it sounds like she's always asking a question, even when making a non-inquiring statement. In linguistic terminology it's called an upward inflection.
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: What seems to be her most obvious personality trait is actually a Zig-Zagging Trope. She's highly refined and very cultured, but tends to be mischievous and playful. Always a proper lady, but doesn't let that stop her from having fun or making passes at the Producer.

"Aah, aah, I have psychic powers. I can bend this spoo- ah, I must introduce myself normally? Ahem, Yuko Hori, 16 years old, my special traits are ESP powers. I can bend spoons! Psychic idol, the ESPer Yuko, ready for combat! Ei!"
— Yuko's self introduction

An imaginative person who claims to possess various psychic abilities like telepathy and telekinesis. In reality she's just an ordinary girl who's naturally talented at stage magician tricks.

  • Ascended Extra: Appears in a brief scene in Episode 5, alongside Shizuku Oikawa and Sanae Katagiri. Later, she shows up as a veteran idol in Episode 13. She later appears in Episode 25, performing at the Winter Ball.
  • Badass Longcoat: A frequent aspect of her idol costumes, including her SSR model in Starlight Stage.
  • Believing Their Own Lies: Often presented as such.
  • Catchphrase: When using her psychic abilities she closes her eyes tightly to concentrate and says, "Mu, mu, mu! Muuuu!"
  • Cover Version: "Joyful" in Passion Jewelries 002.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Despite Nina appearing in the animated PV for "Onegai Cinderella", Yuko was chosen for an Image Song CD in the sixth batch Cinderella Masters.
  • Funny Spoon: Likes to carry spoons. A lot of spoons, because her favorite psychic trick is spoon bending.
  • Genki Girl: On the whole she's pretty cheerful.
  • Humans Are Psychic in the Future: Wholeheartedly believes in this idea.
  • Image Song: "Miracle Telepathy" and "Psychic! Party Night☆".
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: Sometimes unusual things really happen when she's practicing ESP. It could just be sheer coincidence or Yuko's dedicated training is actually working.
    • She's part of the veteran group in the last episode of the anime, despite not being present in the first episode. Because of this, some viewers speculated that her ESP was what caused the blackout, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise since it gave time for Minami to recover for the group performance.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: Whenever someone has lost something or gotten lost, she offers to use her clairvoyance for the solution. Things usually get worst if accepted.
  • Mind over Matter: Practices bending spoons and moving small objects without touching them.
  • Phony Psychic: How everyone sees her.
  • Power Incontinence: Related to Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane mentioned previously. There are subtle hints Yuko has multiple psychic powers, but she remains completely oblivious to them. The more practice she puts into becoming psychic, the more she overlooks evidence of something unusual occurring.
  • Psychic Powers: Claims to have them and her main stage gimmick.
  • Real After All: Zig-Zagged. Whether there's a direct correlation between the following events, and/or if magic really could exist in the iM@S universe, however, is up to interpretation.
    • In a CG Theater comic, Yuko is by herself trying to multiply a bird-shaped object with her psychic powers, giving up when it doesn't work. Syoko shortly after walks in and discovers her mushrooms underneath the desk have multiplied in size and number, much to her surprise.
    • In Episode 25 of the anime, she attempts to bend a spoon with her psychic powers, only for the chair behind her, which Sachiko is sitting in, to inexplicably warp, dumping its unfortunate occupant to the floor.
  • Red Is Heroic: Favorite color. Her idol costumes use it as the primary.
  • Stage Magician: Dubious as her ESP claims are, she is an expert at stagecraft. While focused on being a psychic, a lot of her imagery is more akin to being an illusionist.
  • Telepathy: Tries to read other people's minds or perform mind control on them.
  • Toros y Flamenco: Her alternate Rare + card features a Flamenco dress during a Live tour in Spain.
