Season 1 - Summer Camp Saga

Arc 1 - The "Not-So-Dull" Summer Camp

    Chapter 1
  • Luz recalls having one person who was always nice to her at school: her science teacher, Mr. Jones, who she always got good grades with.

    Chapter 2
  • Pastor Domenico comforts a crying Julia, who was just disowned by her parents and left to live out on the streets, telling her she's done nothing wrong and is always welcome in his much more open-minded church congregation. He even offers her ride to the bus stop.
  • Luz makes her First Friend while on the way to Summer Camp: Julia Wittebane. More than a few readers speculated her to be a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing like her ancestor Phillip. Instead, she's a genuine Nice Girl who's more like her ancestor, Caleb.
Luz: Well… If I didn't go to this stupid camp, I wouldn't have met Julia… maybe this won't be so bad after all?

    Chapter 3
  • Luz hits off with some the kids on the way to Summer Camp, most notably Julia and Kennedy. If it weren't for The Governor kidnapping them, Luz could have had a good time and made real friends there.

    Chapter 4
  • Sergeant Dempsey tells Luz good luck, after naming her a team leader, before he tries (and fails) to kill The Governor to try and stop his madness.
  • When Luz introduces herself to her team in chapter 4, she admits she's super nervous to actually be leading a team but she will do her best. Stanley later lets her know that he doesn't see her as a loser and believes he made the right choice joining the Alpha Squadron.
  • Julia not long afterwards offers to be her second-in-command, so that Luz doesn't feel too pressured. The All For One user is so happy that she hugs her for it.
Julia: Every good leader has someone to fall back on if they're heavily wounded or tired, right? King Arthur had Sir Geraint. So you can have me? Why not? Besides, I don't mind. It's not like you're forcing me to take up this role, in the first place.

Arc 2 - Search and Steal

    Chapter 5
  • Pastor Domenico arrives at Camila's house to let her know it wasn't her fault that Luz is in danger and that he, the police and the FBI are doing everything they could to find the missing kids.

    Chapter 6
  • Luz reveals her Power Parasite ability to her entire team. She expects them to be afraid of her, but instead, they point out how incredibly useful that's going to be in this Deadly Game and consider her The Ace for the Alpha Squadron to De-power the other teams non-lethally if they try to kill them.
  • There is more bonding between Luz and Julia with the former refusing to steal the Wittebane girl's Quirk on All For One's encouragement and latter feeling safe enough around the Latina to sleep on her. Luz then has a Love Epiphany that she has a crush on her First Friend.

    Chapter 7
  • In the climax of the chapter, Luz, at Julia's request, takes her Quirk so that the latter can have a chance of being normal again. The Wittebane girl too now has a crush on Luz.

    Chapter 8

    Chapter 9
  • To Luz's surprise, Julia asks her out on date to the movies after the whole Death Camp thing is over. Luz happily accepts the offer and Stanley is a Shipper on Deck to them.

    Chapter 10
  • When Stanley notices Luz shirt has been burned to shreds after her fight with Cody, he looks away and gives her his tank-top to protect the girl's modesty.

Arc 3 - The Hunt Begins

    Chapter 11
  • At the beginning of the chapter, Kennedy approaches Stanley at night and attempts to invoke The Promise they made to watch each others' backs by getting him to betray Luz, a girl who he has known for only less than a week, for a cut of the multi-million prize money. Stanley all but tells him to get bent, invokes Screw the Money, I Have Rules!, and sends him packing to protect his leader from his Evil Former Friend. If he wasn't sent to the Death Camp, Stanley could have potentially been one of his world's first superheroes with his moral character.
  • The reason why Stanley chose to join Luz's team in the first place? The All For One user is around the same age as his little sister, Maria, activating his Big Brother Instinct on her.
  • Stanley has a It's All My Fault moment for failing to warn his team about Kennedy. Despite part of her wanting to blame him for the slaughter of their friends, Luz can't find it in herself to do that and instead tells its Kennedy and his team that are responsible, not him.
  • Before Luz plans to wait for the two enemy teams to come back to fight them, she orders the remainder of her team to flee for their lives and not come back. What's left of new friends are hesitant to leave her alone to face them but comply.

    Chapter 12
  • Emilia tearfully begs Luz for life to be spared during the All For One user's Roaring Rampage of Revenge claiming she never killed anyone and was never on board with Kennedy's Evil Plan. After hearing her apologise over and over, as well as seeing no falsehood in her words, Luz decides You Will Be Spared as the Sole Survivor of her carnage.
  • When Luz suffers a Heroic RRoD from having too many Quirks, she hears that the 3 soldiers she was just about to fight came here to rescue her and her friends, as well as have the Governor responsible for this in their custody to answer for his crimes, before she loses consciousness. The sane part of humanity is finally here to help the surviving kidnapped kids from their ordeal.

    Chapter 13
  • In this chapter, oddly enough, All For One's reassuring Luz that she shouldn't feel guilt about killing of teams to avenge her friends, even saying that she doesn't have be like him if she doesn't want to.
Shigaraki: You shouldn't feel bad about what you did. You were not in the wrong. You did what had to be done, no matter what anybody tells you. Those who wronged you deserved their fate, as does anyone else who has wronged you in the past. Keep this in mind as you continue your journey. The world is yours, Luz Noceda. You are The Chosen One, after all. The universe blessed you with All For One, and as such, you should use it for its intended purpose.
Luz: And… what exactly is that purpose…?
Shigaraki: Its purpose, Luz, depends on what you think it is. For me, it was World Domination. For you… it could be whatever you desire. What does your heart tell you, Luz? What does your mind tell you? I cannot tell you what you want. I can only suggest. It is up to you to take up those suggestions or ignore them. After all, I am not in control here. I am merely a passenger
  • Despite feeling some anger towards her mother for sending her to summer camp, Luz resolves to not lash out in rage but to explain to her calmly about what happened there. She acknowledges Camila doesn't deserve her hate, as she had no idea it was turned into a Death Camp.
  • When Luz goes to Julia's funeral, she meets Pastor Domenico. He calls out the Wittebanes' spread of bigotry towards superhumans and the lgbt community (despite admitting he doesn't fully understand them) as a blight and stating that Julia was the only good one of the family, seeing her a surrogate granddaughter. He also believes that the Mass Super-Empowering Event is a blessing from God, as his grandson has a Quirk.
  • The Pastor also let's Luz know that he's a friend of her mother, remarking she looks a lot like her when she was Luz's age, and that she's always welcome under his church even if she's not religious. He notes that her Stigmata in her hands as perhaps a sign from heaven.

Season 2 - Hunt for the Wittebanes Saga

Arc 4 - Summer Break Shenanigans

    Chapter 14
  • Camila, with the Quirk her daughter gave her, Repair, has improved her Veterinarian skills to the point that she now runs her very own animal hospital. Thanks to that, she and her daughter no longer live in that small lower-class house and are able to afford a better home for 2 to have a fresh start.
  • Despite what many readers would assume, Shigaraki's manipulations didn't destroy Camila's and Luz's relationship. The 2 still love each other very much despite the trauma with Luz forgiving her.
  • In the second half of the chapter, Luz makes her debut as All For One the Vigilante Man who's first act was stopping a pair of bank robbers, who kidnapped a teenaged girl. After taking out the criminals, the now-freed hostage thanks her as she leaves.
  • The subsequent chapters, its revealed that the second All For One user has gained enough of a crimefighting rep to be noticed and very much appreciated by the community. Its nice to see Luz turning the name All For One into a heroic name.

    Chapter 15

    Chapter 16
  • Its implied All For One kidnapped King to get his Titan's Blood and was rescued by Eda, who went Mama Bear mode, when the 2 ended up in the "The Mutant Realm".

    Chapter 18
  • Despite her Assassination Attempt on Luz in chapter 18, Riley protests against killing her Aunt Camila to her employer. She is now regretting betraying her relatives.

Arc 5 - Death To Normality

    Chapter 19
  • Despite being in great pain, believing she failed as a mother and knowing she's going to die alone with only her would-be murderer as witness, Camila is still able to Face Death with Dignity and Go Out with a Smile. She tells Jonah she has had a full life and believes Luz will survive any and all Assassination Attempts on her life.
Camila: (Smiles) I-I’d rather die then… I’ve already lived a fulfilling life… the only regret I have is making my baby go to that horrid camp
  • When Camila hears from Jonah that Riley was ordered to kill Luz, she believes her niece wasn’t given a choice in the matter. Had Camila lived and confronted Riley its likely she'd hear her out on her side of story and try to help her get out from under the Wittebanes' thumb. (After giving her the chancla for trying to kill her daughter, obviously)
  • When a new assassin starts a fight with Luz by firing a basketball-sized Energy Ball at the squad of cops but Luz intercepts it with her Forcefield Projector. Despite the Gravesfield PD having been the ones who gave her a lot of grief the past month, that doesn’t stop her from trying to save as many lives as she could. Despite being seen as a Supervillain by her town, Luz doesn't want to become like Shigaraki.
She wasn’t a monster. She wasn’t a villain. She wasn’t going to be like him.

    Chapter 20
  • As her fight continues with Sophia, Luz notices that many civilians were able to escape from the escalating battle. The teen girl is glad as she wants to keep Collateral Damage to a minimum.
  • Sophia the hitwoman is impressed with Luz's powers and abilities enough to compliment her on it, seeing the girl as a Worthy Opponent.

    Chapter 21
  • Jonah tricks Luz into believing she just killed her own mother with her Forcefield Cannon when Charlie teleports her corpse in the attack, she about to go into a Heroic BSoD which is All According to Plan for Psycho for Hire. However, the Evil Mentor Spirit Advisor living in the girl's head is able to bring her out of it with surprisingly gentle Get A Hold Of Yourself Man pep-talk. Sure it invokes The Power of Hate and to Pay Evil unto Evil, its still what the girl needed to hear to not develop a Guilt Complex.
Shigaraki: Calm yourself. Focus… You can grieve later. Channel that anger and despair you are feeling, and use it against your enemies. Push past this, and bring your wrath down on your foes!
  • Not long after Luz defeats the hitman, Riley appears and tries to tries to apologise for trying to kill her and explain why she did. Sure it was a Rejected Apology in an extreme fashion, but points for trying Riley.
    • Shortly after that, Millie attacks Luz fully-intending on Avenging the Villain using various spells in her arsenal on the teenager. It seems Riley's Villainous Friendship with the witch was mutual and beyond mere professionalism.
  • Right as Luz is about to cripple Millie for life, someone rushes in and rescues her with Super-Speed. Its Hunter the Golden Guard finally making his appearance. So far he appears to be a Benevolent Boss as he is to his subordinates in canon.
  • According to All For One, he was able to convince the Golden Guard to become The Mole for him a decade ago and could be a future potential ally, and much needed one for Luz who needs people on her side, and is about to test her mettle.
  • Considering his judging look, Hunter may fight not only because of Just Following Orders but to also avenge the innocent bystanders that died in the crossfire of Luz's fights.

Arc 6 - AFO versus The Golden Guard

    Chapter 22
  • The Golden Guard openly admits he wants to keep the Collateral Damage to a minimum in his fight with Luz.
  • When a badly injured Luz ends up crash landing at her old school, one of the students was about to call the emergency services to help her until her Healing Factor kicks in and freaks them out.

    Chapter 23
  • Hunter notes Luz is accidently destroying the town with she more powerful attacks, seeing all of the panicking civilians and aims to stop her before that happens.
  • The Golden Guard's loyalties are revealed to be not with Emperor Belos or Shigaraki (seeing them both as the horrible people they really are) but to the citizens of his homeland. He plans on moulding Luz to be the liberator of The Boiling Isles needs.
  • Just as Hunter is about to pull a Screw This, I'm Outta Here back to the Boiling Isles, Luz grabs him and drags across the asphalt... Vine Tentacles? She's got Julia's Quirk back!
  • As Shigaraki notices the Mental World changing, he realises Luz has achieved Quirk Awakening, something he himself had been unable to do, praising her for it while laughing. While he has his own agenda, Shigaraki this chapter sounded a lot like a proud dad who's seen his kid just did something amazing. He sees her as a Superior Successor.
  • When Hunter believes he just killed Luz, he laments she could’ve been a massive ally to him and his cause to save his homeland from his Evil Uncle.
  • After she punches him in the face and chews him out for destroying her home, Lux acknowledges her role in the tragedy and states she has no reason to fight him anymore. She decides to let him leave him be and fly off.
  • It took Luz up to twenty-three whole chapters (and the author over a year), but she finally makes it to the Demon Realm. Perhaps there's a chance Eda and the others can Heal the Cutie.
Shigaraki: Luz… you did it. You made it to where you need to be. Welcome… To The Boiling Isles.

Season 3 - The Boiling Isles Saga

Arc 7 - A Late Start To A Wacky World - Part 1

    Chapter 24
  • The most prominent one of chapter 24 is the beginning. Unlike the show, Amity has a way better relationship with her mother who acts as a good mother towards her. And this is taking into the fact Amity can't do magic here and is the Black Sheep of the family. In any good came from the Ten-Year War is that Odalia, of all people, Took a Level in Kindness towards her family.
    • Since her parents didn't force her to end their friendship like in the show, Amity is still friends with Willow, most likely having a Commonality Connection for being social outcasts. If that wasn't enough, Boscha is also friends with them implying the girl has a Hidden Heart of Gold.
    • Eda is also on friendly terms with Amity, with the girl possibly being a regular customer of hers and doesn't discriminate against the teen for being "Unique".
    • Luz's (or shall we say Toshiko's) first meeting with Amity is this. She saw a girl falling to the ground after bumping into her and she used her (Vines) Quirk on her because she didn't want to see Amity fall, and then she wished her a good day. Even after everything she's been through, Luz still hasn't lost her heart.

    Chapter 25
  • In chapter 25 when meeting each other again in Luz's Mental World, Rikitatsu praises the girl for achieving Quirk Awakening, something he couldn't do in his entire life, telling her he's genuinely proud of her and that the Quirk is truly her's now.
Rikitatsu: It isn’t my power anymore. You’ve done the one thing I was never able to do. You Awakened the Quirk. From this point forward, I know nothing except the basics. This is your Quirk now, not mine. (Places his hand on her shoulder.)I’m proud of you. You did the one thing that I could never do in life. And for that, I am thankful.
Luz: Proud… of me? Mama was the only one to have ever said that to me… and it was only once… When I got an A on a Spanish test in the fifth grade…
Rikitatsu: Well, now I’ve said it. It might not mean much to you, Luz. But what you did has proven to me that you are not only a worthy successor, but a far superior user of All For One. It only took you the length of a typical summer vacation to do something I could never do in my 150 years of living.
    • When Luz suddenly hugs the villain and starts bawling in his chest after everything that's happened to her the past 3 days, Rikitatsu is left confused until this scenario reminds him of when his late brother Yoichi, one person who cared about other than himself, did this when they were kids. Instead of using the situation to his advantage, the supervillain makes a genuine effort to comfort the crying child.
    • While doing this he reminisces about his childhood with his younger twin. Despite seeing him as weak and pathetic, the supervillain he loved him in his own way and looked after him the best he could. Hell, he claims he locked him up not out of cruelty, but to protect him from the outside elements, due to his illness. It was genuinely distraught when the résistance busted him because he died not long afterwards, due to exposure to the elements. He flat out admits to himself that he didn’t care about the power that claiming One For All would give him, only that it was his brother's Quirk.
Such a weak, frail, and pathetic man. Yet, a man who he loved as a brother with all of his blackened heart. It was why he hunted after One For All. To reclaim what was his. His brother.
Rikitatsu: It’s… going to be alright, Noceda.
    • Its possible that him giving her a new identity with his family name could be more than just narcissism but his way of adopting the now orphaned girl. While its unlike for him to pull a Heel–Face Turn, perhaps becoming a Retired Monster instead?
  • Rather than let him die from the injuries she gave him for trying to attack her, she uses her new Healing Hands aspect of her "Super Regeneration" Quirk to save Willow's dad, as she doesn't want the girl she noticed to be fatherless.
Toshiko: I’m not a monster. I would never take away a father from their daughter.
    • Its also very reminiscent of the "Repair" Quirk she gave her mother, even glowing green just like it. Luz can still use her powers to save lives, not just take them, like Camila would want for her to do.
    • Unknown to the superhuman, she was being followed by Eda the Owl Lady who was suspicious of her after hearing her name. After seeing the girl impale Gilbert, she was seconds away from pulling a Big Damn Heroes until she saw Toshiko heal him up. She acknowledges that she's not a monster like her predecessor she fought over a decade ago.
    • Eda is now a recognised war hero, despite her wild witch status. She has befriended Gilbert and helped him through the loss of his husband. Hell, because of her assistance fighting against "The Interloper" alongside Emperor Belos and her sister, The Emperor had given her a pardon for all of her “crimes”, now only wanted for not joining a coven, which just an inconvenience to the woman.
      • When Gilbert comes back to his senses, the man acknowledges that he shouldn’t have tried to attack the girl, feeling remorse for his actions and comforts Willow, his crying daughter, who's just glad he's come out okay from the confrontation.

    Chapter 26
  • Amity looking for the perfect birthday present for her mother as she forget to get her a gift last year, making her feel guilty. Not because Odalia had guilted her about it, in fact, Odalia had constantly told her that the only thing that she considered as a gift was her and could care less about material desires, even though Amity personally didn’t agree with that fact. Amity is prepared to go Fight Clubbing to earn enough money to get her mom a birthday present.
    • According to Amity, her mother has a hard time being open with regarding things that she wanted and or expected of others. This is likely her way of avoiding becoming the abusive Control Freak she was in the show, believing in freedom of choice. While the One For All wielder doesn't like her "Gift", she's willing to use it for her mother's sake.
  • Amity also doesn't abide in the Fantastic Racism her father and siblings engage in thanks to Odalia's parenting.
Even Cyclops used their higher power over them, which to Amity made no real sense — because why would beat down on someone lower than you?
  • Amity meets Gus for the first time in the story, the latter catches the former as she's about to fall over. The boy does become suspicious due her being part of the Blight Family and takes her to get vetted by his father saying his very strict when it comes to newcomers. Luckily, the man is more than welcoming to the girl saying he'll be routing for her in the tournament his son will be hosting.
    • Perry Porter is the founder of The Underdark and a follower of All For One, based around the Quirk user's ideals: Strength Above Status, Ideals Above Rules, and Emotions Above Morals.
  • When first lays eyes on The Underdark, she's in awe and wonder of the sheer size of the Underground City. She also notices there's much less Fantastic Racism down here than above ground with different races mingling with each other. She mentally notes that she doesn't need to told by Gus not to snitch to Emperor Belos about this place.
Gus: Welcome to The Underdark. A town that The Emperor doesn’t know about. A safe haven for those who had rejected society and cast aside the law.
  • The youngest Blight also can't help but notice that the residents here more friendly than the people of Bonesborough. Many smiled and waved at her and she would answer in kind. Even the trolls waved at her, though they didn’t smile but that's because their faces were in a permanent neutral expressions. Their eyes showed their true emotion, and they had no problem with seeing her here.
    • The mantra “Strength Above Status, Ideals Above Rules, and Emotions Above Morals.” makes The Underdark a place lots of people who are outcasts, like Luz, would do and give anything to live in.
    • Perry has heard rumours of someone called Shigaraki arriving in Bonesborough and wants to join forces with Toshiko to overthrow Emperor Belos and liberate the Boiling Isles from the tyrant. It appears the new All For One won't be alone for much longer.
    • At one point Amity hears a faint voice in her head, heavily implying it to be Yoichi trying to help his successor from beyond the grave.

    Chapter 27
  • Eda notices the massive column of blue fire near her house and races towards it as fast she can, fearing for her family's safety from the child that she believes is related to All For One. She even considered going Godzilla Threshold and letting the Owl Beast out to save her adopted son.
  • When the Owl Lady arrives, she discovers that Toshiko and King have become friends at the end of their fight, both respecting the other's strength and laugh off their scuffle like they've known each other for years, much to her surprise.
  • Meanwhile, in Toshiko's Mental World, its revealed that the Quirk vestiges can gain sentience if they had a positive relationship with its wielder. And so marks the return of Luz's First Friend: Julia Wittebane.

    Chapter 28
  • Yoichi is trying to form a Psychic Link with Amity and plans to act as her Spirit Advisor, especially now that he's concerned for her mental wellbeing due to her Accidental Murder.
  • Despite being a follower of All For One, Perry loves his son very much and doesn't want him to risk his life for their cause. Even when he relents, Perry tells Gus to flee in case things go south on the surface as he acts as The Mole.

Arc 8 - Truth, Lies, and The Inbetween
  • In chapter 29, All For One plays a game of Uno with Julia as wait for Toshiko with no strings attached.
    • Despite being suspicious of her, Eda allows Toshiko to stay at her house for a few days, due to being homeless and gives a new set of more durable clothes to wear that she kept when was back in school.

Part 2

Old Version

    Season 1
  • In chapter 7, seeing her taking her Quirk as a chance for her parents to consider taking her back home, Julia views her new friend as a Messianic Archetype with her stigmata hands and it was God's will that allowed them to meet each other and tearfully thanks her new friend while they hug.
And with the way the moonlight had shone on her like she was some sort of deity, Luz became something more to her than a friend. She became her saviour.
  • At the end of Chapter 9, when Luz's team is attacked by Cody, whose Quirk is Playing with Fire, Stanley pushes one of his comrades who couldn't get away from the flames in time and takes the full blast. Sure, he's able to No-Sell it with his Super-Toughness but shows his selfless nature to look out for his teammates, despite only knowing them for a few days.
  • In Chapter 10, instead of following the "rules" of the Deadly Game, the Alpha Squadron opt instead to tie up the unconscious Cody and just have their leader De-power him so that he's no longer a threat.
