It’s Irueru Punch's Alternate Universe of Ragnarok Online where things can go completely different from what really happened. Although it's still following Canon as far as the setting is concerned.

Following a trio of newly-friends who just met when they are about to enter the final exam of Izlude’s Critelia Novice Academy:

  • Kirika Friar - a purple-haired girl who wants to be an Assassin because “a certain Assassin Cross” saved her from being lost at Sograt Desert. She lives happily with her family at Morroc, and likes playing with her little sister Eariene. She’s cheerful, kind, a bit sensitive, and never seen without wearing her Note Headphone. Don’t ask her about her weight though; because she will lecture you about why asking that is an insult to girls.
  • Lilian F. Trautor - the pink-haired eldest daughter of House Trautor, a noble family who owns Midgard Times, the largest newspaper company in Rune-Midgarts Kingdom. She has two elder brothers and a little sister. Because she’s not the heir to the company, she decided to become a Wizard instead. Her vast knowledge of the world often helps the party to decide what they will do. She’s bit arrogant sometimes, but she likes to help others. And she has troubles of expressing her feelings to others.
  • Elise Lhytus - a white-haired girl who Kirika identifies as “a loner”. She’s never seen without her cold stare and her Bonnet Hat, which she refuses to remove from her head for some reason. Although she’s cold, she can pull a snark or two when her other friends do stupid things. She has this passion to become friendly with everyone, and she believes that becoming a Priest will help her. And hopefully, she can “go back home”…

In their journey, the trio will be accompanied with various friends and foes. Ranging from fellow Novice Academy alumni, rivals from other guilds, various organizations, and people they don’t expect to meet.

Story is divided into six parts:

  • First Arc
  • Intermission
  • Transcendence Arc, which is divided into three parts:
    • Arunafeltz Arc
    • Schwartzvalt Arc
    • Rune-Midgarts Arc
  • Intermission Redeux
  • Finale
  • Aftermath

Has a currently in-progress Prequel titled Sorry, I'm Late.

Tropes found in the whole story (and unless specified, most of them are from Transcendence Arc):

  • Aerith and Bob: The people inhabiting Rune-Midgarts. On one hand, you have Lilian, Carissa, Fridays, and Cornell. On the other hand, you have...Suzuna? Tao? Rouen? Syariffudin? Transcendence Arc made it worse, since most of Ascended Extra NPC who join the party have odd-sounding names.
    • This following conversation sums it best:
Maku: Wait, what!? Why should we-
Lilian: You three have odd-sounding names for this country's standards, you know. In order to blend better with us Midgartsians, you need plainer, less flashy names.
      • However, It Makes Sense in Context, considering by the time this conversation happened, Rune-Midgarts was still on bad terms with the other two countries.
  • Another Side, Another Story: The main point of Transcendence Arc.
  • Ascended Extra
    • In First Arc, Suzuna was adopted by Trautor family and stayed at Eden HQ after the party saved her. In Intermission, she became the main character. She's demoted to The Lancer by the time Transcendence Arc came in, but a large chunk of the story still focus on her.
    • Almost all the characters involved in Friendship quests line become major characters.
    • Hes O'Neil from President quest got the largest boost of relevancy out of the other NPC. She's basically evolves from a Broken Bridge NPC to a major character who affects most of the underlying plot ties of Transcendence Arc.
    • The Darmawan family (Udin, Aise, and Philia) during Aftermath.
  • Amplifier Artifact: The Heart of Ymir pieces for the Agents.
  • Baleful Polymorph: Played for Laughs during Halloween festive chapters.
  • Badass Army: everyone during The Battle of Beelzebub. And naturally all the guilds who participate in War of Emperium.
  • Badass in Distress: it's not even a spoiler that Rene is often gotten herself kidnapped and still kicks many asses. Then again...
  • Bribing Your Way to Victory: During First Arc, Rene almost did this to get the guild pass the qualification test. Luckily, Lilian noticed.
  • Break the Cutie: may as well call this fic "Break the Cutie the Series".
  • Breather Episode: As noted above, Intermission and Intermission Redeux are this. Although each parts have their own Breather Episode too.
  • By the Power of Grayskull!: "Form Change!"
  • Combat Medic: Elise and Tao fit this trope to a T. Harold is more support-oriented than other Crusader-type characters, too.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Fridays. In fact, this is the reason why he's dragged into becoming a Dancer in the first place. Moreso is Harley; apparently all the testosterones went to Harold.
  • Elemental Powers
  • Enemy Mine:
    • In First Arc, this is how Harold and Vennedita joined the party, as they're after Ghostring too.
    • The Schwartzvalt Arc team ultimately wants to take down Rekenber's regime. But they have their own reasons: Revenge (Digotz, Katinshuell, and Neil), saving their beloveds (Brue and Harley), knowing the truth (Maku), doing favor for the greater good (Elise), and because they pissed her off (Rene). Keep in mind that in the beginning everyone was pissed off on poor Kat.
  • Everyone Is Bi: Oh yes. For example, the three main characters have male love interests, but that doesn't stop them from having "subtexts" with each other.
  • Five-Man Band
  • Five-Man Band: the Agents has (had?) this dynamic
  • Friendly Rivalry: Slothelodious Queens and sParTAn! have this dynamic.
  • Full-Name Basis: Grand Valkyrie does this all the time.
  • Given Name Reveal: all over the place.
Elise: Yes, I am from another world. Lhistuse Lye is my name; or at least, it was.
Serin: Let me embrace you for the last time, my daughter Venncia Gretchel. I hope we could meet again...
Harley: No, that's not how I remember you! You're not L'Rydia; you are Elrayne Chromedea!
  • Half-Identical Twins: Harold and Harley are pretty much identical except for their hair lengths (again, Harley's is longer), their classes, and their personalities.
  • Handicapped Badass: Cornell has only one eye.
  • Happily Adopted: Venne is adopted by the owner of her orphanage. Suzuna is adopted by Trautor family. Elise was basically adopted by the Grisheims. Digotz has President Karl adopted him in desperation. In the end, Lulipus is Kirika and Harold's adopted daughter.
  • Heartbroken Badass: Elsa, Kat, Kirika post-Morroc Impact.
  • Idiot Hero: The initial trio avert this to varying degrees, with Kirika having the lowest Intelligence out of the three. Intermission, however, has Suzuna misinterpreted Kirika's words to "keep the guild intact" by claiming to "take over as the new leader". That's the smartest she could be at the time. She got better by the time Transcendence Arc kicks in.
    • Transcendence Arc made the returning characters a bit smarter, and most of the new additions are not too shabby either. Maku, however...
  • Idol Singer: Philia and her "rival" Jingha.
  • La Résistance: Secret Wing, later known as Republic Rebellion Front.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: Good luck finding artworks of First Arc, as most of them are either Transcendence Arc or Aftermath.
    • This page. Are you reading the Prequel up until the newest chapter? Sorry, then. Hell, Kenneth even warns you in Omake 2 Special of the prequel.
    • Elise's true name and her Stable Time Loop.
  • Likes Older Women: Jashqa, Karyn, and Vince agree. Harley too, until The Reveal that said older woman is now younger than him due to...stuffs she went throught when they were separated.
  • Loads And Loads Of Characters: see all those names on Elemental Powers entry? That's just the main cast.
  • Luke, I Am Your Father: Is it "Jashqa, I am your older brother", Kenneth? Or "Kirika, we are your cousins", Karyn and Curdie? Or is it "Vennedita, I am your mother", Serin? The literal example, however, happens during a side story centered on Suzuna and her family: the one who sent a request that ultimately killed the Mastering who raised Suzuna is none other than her father.
  • MacGuffin: The Heart of Ymir.
  • Meaningful Rename: Lhistuse to Elise. Elrayne to L'Rydia. Josepha to Kenneth. Secret Wing to Republic Rebellion Front.
  • Memory: Where do we begin? It is the source of most of the dramas in latter parts of Intermission and Transcendence Arc.
    • Amnesia Missed a Spot: Encouraged by Grand Valkyrie herself. A guild must have at least one member whose class isn't qualified to Transcend. Then, s/he must find other Transcended members and restore their memories. If not, the Valkyries will lead the amnesiacs to their closest relatives to do the process.
    • Amnesiac Hero: But of course.
    • Amnesiac Liar: Rekenber. Dear Odin, Rekenber. On a lighter note, Kidd and Rin had to do so on Kirika because she wished to forget that she once had a foster family.
    • Amnesiac Lover: Kirika and Harold, most of the time. This also applies to the souls that reside within them, Kileyka and Hibram, via Ghost Amnesia.
    • Brainwash Residue: Elrayne sometimes can slips into her "L'Rydia" personality, and so does Rene and her "Aultuleva Renes" alter ego. Mostly Played for Laughs, but there are times when it's Played for Drama.
    • Easy Amnesia
    • Fake Memories: In the prequel, Katinshuell and Kazien discussed how it worked for the Friendship Duo.
    • Faking Amnesia: Elise is the master of this (except for her final timeline iteration); mostly because of her Gift of Time and Grand Valkyrie's awareness of it. Lulipus pulled this stunt to gain Kirika's trust, but she's Becoming the Mask in the process.
    • Identity Amnesia: How Transcendence usually works.
    • Laser-Guided Amnesia
    • Memory-Wiping Crew: One of the Valkyries' side jobs.
    • Past-Life Memories: Elise retains all of her previous iterations' memories. Except for her final timeline iteration.
  • Multinational Team: In-universe, all three significant countries get represented in the party. Some Global Map Project areas too.
  • Non-Indicative Name: The Slothelodious Queens, despite being a female-oriented guild, has four males in their memberships.
  • Older Than They Look: Is Fridays really 19? Though once he mans up in Intermission Redeux, he starts to look like his age more.
    • Olivier is 20. Looks no more older than Seong-Lee and Suzuna, who are 18.
    • Suzuna herself, during First Arc. She is 13, but looks younger than twelve-years-old Rene.
    • Elise was this for the most of Transcendence Arc as a punishment for altering the timeline 99 times. She ages normally after she took down post-Break the Cutie Maku and Brue.
    • Elrayne is actually 29 years old. She was frozen when she was 18, and is only awoken 3 months prior to Schwartzvald Arc.
    • Oliver is said to be looking like a fifteen years old teenager. How old he really is? Nobody knows.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Bruspetti much prefers being called as "Brue", as she thinks her name is too tongue-rolling. Some of the Rachel-originated characters use this too (Katinshuell/Kat, Lachellen/Ellen, Vianthrofel/Via).
    • Justified for "Brue", as it's her canon nickname in Japanese version of RO.
    • Rene. But since the "T" in "Trene" is silent, this is kind of Justified.
  • Only in It for the Money: Pretty much the entire reason of Der||Kaskuser's existence.
  • The Red Baron: Almost everyone has their own titles, which are given because of their position and achievements.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Every Rekenber's Agents has them except Kat, since he's a new member (he gets them later anyway). Lulipus (pink) and Maku (brown) lost theirs at first due to their lost memories, but when they regained them, they stays that way.
    • Aise having them despite not being an Agent is a foreshadowing to her true nature as Hrist.
  • Replacement Goldfish: Jashqa is treated as such by his parents, who seem to favor their eldest son more.
  • Significant Anagram: "Elise Lhytus" is just anagram of "Lhistuse Lye".
  • Spared By Adaptation: Elise really meant it when she said she will save everyone. Even though she still made exceptions.
  • Split-Personality Takeover: How Olivier and Lulipus underwent their Heel–Face Revolving Door. Maku's almost snapped if it not for Elise literally knocked it down.
  • Theme Naming:
  • Transformation Trinket: Formless Crystal (non-Transcendent classes), Regalia Crystal (Transcendent classes onwards).
  • World of Badass
  • Worthy Opponent: how Kirika views Carissa.
    • Ditto with Elsa and Neil.
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Kirika sports purple, Lilian has pink, while Elise's is pure white. And those are just the main trio's!
    • Literal blue hair belongs to Grisheim twins and their mother (cobalt blue), Orica (steel blue), Elsa (neon blue), Tao (dark blue), and several background civilians.
  • Younger Than They Look: Yes, Rene and Jashqa were 12 for the most of First Arc. Especially jarring in Jashqa's case, when he looks no more older than his Love Interest Venne, who is four years older than him.
