Characters from Kamen Rider Gotchard VS Kamen Rider Legend

    Houou Kaguya Quartz/Kamen Rider Legend

Portrayed by: Seiichiro Nagata (live); Yuya Nawata [main], Eitokunote , Yuji Nakatanote , Kōsuke Asainote  [episode 33] (suit)
Young Kaguya portrayed by: Tōya Shimizu

An affluent young man hailing from a parallel world, whose Rider form greatly resembles that of the Destroyer of Worlds himself. He summons Houtaro for the purpose of obtaining Gotchard's power, in order to combat the Hundred organization.

Tropes applying to him in general

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krgot_kaguya.jpg
The Most Gorgeous Kamen Rider in Existence

  • Agent Peacock: He's rather flamboyant in his mannerisms, but is very much able to beat Hundred's horde of Kasshines all by himself.
  • Advertised Extra: Originally from a web series, Kaguya was teased on the poster for the main series in the second act, though he does not appear until #33, after a majority of the second act had passed.
  • Ascended Fanboy: As a child, he was saved by Kamen Rider Decade, inspiring him to take up a similar appearance and power set as Legend.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Every shot of him untransformed sees him dressed in a very opulent fashion, and he's no slouch in a fight.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Befitting his inspiration, his catchphrases are modified ones from previous Riders.
    • "It's gorgeous time!"note  — from Kamen Rider Wizard's "It's showtime!"note
    • "The great Kaguya... has arrived."note  — from Momotaros' "I... have arrived!"note
    • "The great Kaguya's finishing attack: Gorgeous Version... Part [X]!" — from Momotaros' "My finishing attack... Part [X]!"
  • Character Catchphrase: He's very fond of "gorgeous". It's even the LegenDriver's announcement phrase whenever he performs a Chemy/Attack Ride.
  • Composite Character: Of Tsukasa Kadoya/Kamen Rider Decade and Sougo Tokiwa/Kamen Rider Zi-O. While Kaguya has the cool, composed attitude of Tsukasa and the barcode card motif to match, he also inherits some of Sougo's royalty motifs and even has a retainer, serving as his own counterpart to Woz.
  • Conspicuous Consumption: Houtaro first meets Kaguya while he's bathing in fountain water and gemstones.
  • Crazy-Prepared: It's implied that he programmed the Legend Kamen Riser to flee to a safer place in the multiverse in the event its security became compromised. Said place, of course, is the World of Gotchard, where there's at least one Rider which can help keep it safe until Kaguya can retrieve his item.
  • Establishing Character Moment: As if a shot of his extravagant mansion wasn't enough, his introduction to Houtaro involves him taking a bath in gemstones whilst sipping wine.
  • Expository Pronoun: He uses waga when referring to himself and kisama to others, showcasing his haughty, king-like demeanor.
  • Gender-Blender Name: "Kaguya" is typically a feminine name, the most well-known bearer being the heroine of the Japanese folktale The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He has blonde hair and is ultimately a good guy who genuinely desires to protect his world, if not a little snobbish and arrogant.
  • Hidden Depths: Is so obsessed with being gorgeous due to promising his dying grandfather that he would show the world his brilliance.
  • Hope Bringer: Butler states that he arrived one day just as Hundred laid waste to the world, and it was through his intervention that the world was saved and stood a chance against Hundred.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Is clearly as uppity as they come, but is not only dedicated to the protection of his world, but improving it and the lives of the people who inhabit it.
  • Leitmotif: "My name is Houou Kaguya Quartz", a fanfare-esque jazz theme that conveys the sheer pomp and circumstance he exudes.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste: The special doesn't hesitate to shove this in the viewers' faces in his very first scenes.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Houou is the Japanese name for The Phoenix, which in Japan, China, and Korea is traditionally associated with royalty.
    • While it's rendered in katakana here, "Kaguya" can be written as 輝夜, which means "radiant night".
  • Non-Idle Rich: The wealth is easily confirmed, but you'd be a fool to think that Kaguya spends most of his time sitting on his laurels. After all, he regularly fights his world's biggest enemies and continually invents new ways to increase his own power.
  • Rags to Riches: He was a commoner before somehow becoming the richest man and protector of his world.
  • Third-Person Person: Will sometimes refer to himself as "Kaguya-sama".note
  • Tragic Keepsake: A ring he wore once belonged to his grandfather.

Tropes exclusive to him as Kamen Rider Legend

LegenDriver voiced by: Mark Okita

Chemy Ride! L-L-L-Legend!
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krgo_legendarylegend.png
Final Chemy Ride! L-L-L-Legendary Legend!

  • Animal Motifs: Lions; his personal card has a lion Chemy on it, and as Legendary Legend he has a collar that goes up around his head like a lion's mane.
  • Bling of War: Like Gotchard, much of Legend's suit uses a chrome finish, and his suit also bears several gemstones on it.
  • Deflector Shields: The LegenDriver can generate barcode-like energy shields.
  • Effective Knockoff: A facsimile of Decade that proves strong enough to battle the time-space brigands his idol usually does.
  • Empathic Weapon: The Legend Riser appears to have a mind of its own, fleeing Alpha and his Kasshine squad when they come to steal it in #32.
  • Finishing Move:
    • LegenDriver: Dubbed "Gorgeous Attack Rides", accessed by inserting and scanning a Legend Rider Card into the LegenDriver.
      • Den-O: Legend rides atop a golden construct of the DenLiner, summoning the DenGasher (Sword Mode) and performing a variant of Momotaros' Extreme Slash.
      • Base form: Legend performs a variation of Decade's Dimension Kick.
    • Legend Ride Magnum: Dubbed "Legend Attack Rides", accessed by scanning a Legend Rider Card in the Ride Magnum.
      • Diend: Legend unleashes a golden variant of Diend's Dimension Shoot.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: He is a predominantly golden Kamen Rider, and he is shown to be able to take on a horde of Kasshine with ease in base form, while Gotchard required ExceedMighty Form to do so. When he takes on the form of another Kamen Rider, he gains a golden sash overlaid on top of the original suit, which distinguishes him from Decade's similar ability.
  • The Gunslinger: His main weapon is the Legend Ride Magnum, a handgun based on a motorcycle. He later gets a second handgun, the Legend Kamen Riser, which also acts as his Super Mode Transformation Trinket.
  • Homage: Legend's visor turning magenta in Legendary Form is another one to Decade — specifically, his signature color, as well as the Complete Form.
  • Light Is Good: His suit is a bright gold color and, despite his uppity nature, he's firmly on the side of good. Part 2 reveals he even became a Rider to "shine brightly" and have evil focus on him alone so no-one else has to get hurt.
  • Palette Swap: His suit is basically Decade's, with the magenta parts recolored gold and the green eyes recolored blue, as well as slight alterations to his helm and shoulder armor. Likewise, Legendary Form is basically Decade Complete Form given an Egyptian aesthetic.
  • Power Copying: Retains Decade's ability to transform into other Legend Riders. Unlike Decade, however, who only changes the belt, Legend's versions include the left-hand torso armor and the right-hand waist armor of his default form.
  • Repetitive Name: His Super Mode, Legendary Legend.
  • Shout-Out: He's the franchise's answer to Twokaizer from Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger , as his suit (primarily the helmet) and powers are largely golden Palette Swaps of the anniversary hero Kamen Rider Decade much like how Twokaizer was based on the Gokaigers.
  • Summon Magic: Like Diend, he can summon previous Riders via the Legend Ride Magnum's Flush Mode, accessed by inserting, scanning and removing Legend Rider Cards in the Magnum's reader.

    Butler

Portrayed by: Amon Kabe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krgot_butler.jpg
Kaguya's Loyal Butler

Kaguya's butler, who is the World of Legend's counterpart of Ryo Kajiki.

    Gengetsu/Kamen Rider Barlckxs (IV)

Portrayed by: Robin Furuya (live), Yasuhiko Imai (suit)

The first of the Hundred organization's top four generals.

Tropes that apply to him in general

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krg_boss_of_hundred.jpg

  • Casting Gag: This isn't Robin Furuya's first stint as a villainous Rider piggybacking off of the black-and-gold Rider system of another villain.
  • The Man in Front of the Man: He's initially introduced in the special as the apparent leader of Hundred, but it's later revealed that he's actually part of the Hundred Four, with Kaguya further stating that there are others above him in the pecking order.
  • Meaningful Name: His name is derived from 弦月 ("half-moon" — or "half a month" — in Japanese).
  • No Name Given: He was only known as "the Boss of Hundred" in his initial appearance, with his name not revealed until #33 of the main series.
  • Outside-Context Problem: Weaponizes the villains and powers from Kamen Rider Zi-O in a Kamen Rider Decade-themed special from Gotchard.

Tropes exclusive to him as Kamen Rider Barlckxs

Characters from Kamen Rider Gotchard × Geats — The Strongest Chemy ☆ Gotcha Grand Operation

    Geats Chemy

Voiced by: Fubuki Shirakami

Level Number: 5
Gotchanko Partner: Ziin
Motif: Kamen Rider Geats

  • Asian Fox Spirit: It's a Chemy in the form of a kitsune. Rather fittingly, it also resembles a chibified version of Geats IX, complete with the colors.
  • Big Friendly Dog: It has the disposition of one, which is most apparent in the cards where it's portrayed with puppy-like mannerisms. Justified because it's actually the Forced Transformation of Constantine's spirit.
  • But Now I Must Go: Kon's spirit leaves for the afterlife at the end of the winter movie, but not before expressing his love and gratitude toward Ace and exchanging a tearful goodbye.
  • Call-Back: Its cry of "Kon!" also references Ace's nickname for Geats' version of the Boostriker, "Kon-chan." It's was also the nickname of Ace's deceased dog, Constantine.
  • Casting Gag: Besides the obvious association of a fox-themed Virtual YouTuber voicing a kitsune-based Chemy, the Geats Chemy uses "Kon!" as its cry instead of Pokémon Speak, referencing Fubuki's stream greeting of "Kon-kon kitsune!"
  • Decomposite Character: Based on its interactions with Hopper1, it is basically Ace at his silliest spun off into a separate character.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: It and the other Geats Chemies are "portrayed" by puppets rather than simple physical props.
  • Pokémon Speak: A more subtle example, as instead of saying it's own name as the average Chemy does, it's cry of "Kon" also comes from Constantine's Affectionate Nickname.
  • Posthumous Character: As Constantine, who died way before the events of Geats and lingered on as a spirit accompanying his owner.
  • Reincarnation: Turns out he's the reincarnation of Ace's pet dog Constantine, who died in a car crash.
  • Taking the Bullet: Before Ace could be turned into a Chemy, the spirit of his deceased dog Kon takes the hit for him instead, resulting in his reincarnation into the Geats Chemy.
  • Undying Loyalty: His spirit lingered with Ace after his original death, and the reason Ace avoided becoming a Chemy was because he took the hit for him.
  • Vocal Dissonance: The first card art for it has it sneering in an offensive stance like an actual animal, which heavily contrasts its high-pitched voice. Later artwork would properly depict its actual demeanor, especially the one that has it sticking its tongue out in a puppy-like fashion.

    X Wizard

Portrayed by: Rie Takahashi (voice), Naoko Kamio (suit)

Level Number: 10
Gotchanko Partner: N/A
Motif: Wizard

The true "strongest Chemy," who left the Alchemist's Academy and turned against them for unknown reasons.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Is dubbed "Kurotchi" (from "Cross"/Kurosu) by Houtaro.
  • Bright Is Not Good: X Wizard has brightly-colored armor, but is the first known Chemy to be an antagonist.
  • Casting Gag: This isn't the first time Rie Takahashi has played a powerful magic user dressed like an archetypical wizard/witch. While Megumin was on the side of the heroes, X Wizard serves as the main villain.
  • Cross-Cast Role: Twice over. X Wizard is suit- and voice-acted by two different women, but has been confirmed by the former to be male.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Appears in #15 of the main series before debuting fully in the movie.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: He wears golden armor of considerable size, and X Wizard is no pushover in a fight.
  • Hu Mons: X Wizard is humanoid in design and unlike Wrestler G his proportions are not exaggerated. As such, it allows the Chemy to be portrayed in a classic toku-style costume.
  • Large Ham: Even when he’s being quiet, it's hard to hide this Chemy's ham factor.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: The only Chemy to be portrayed by a suit actor instead of CGI and/or a physical prop.
  • Pokémon Speak: Averted. X Wizard is noted to be far more intelligent than most of the other Chemies, and can actually speak far more than just his own name. His brief appearance in episode 18 shows this wasn't always the case, as while Fuga summons him, he does utter his name only.
  • Punny Name: The "X" in its name is pronounced "Cross", and X Wizard has double-crossed both the Academy and Fuga.
  • Purple Is Powerful: X Wizard is clad in all purple, and is labelled as the strongest Chemy.
  • Wizard Classic: A Wizard-themed Chemy and the Winter movie's Living Mc Guffin
  • Token Evil Teammate: Of all the Chemies encountered thus far, X Wizard is the only one who is actively acting against the interests of both the Academy and Fuga. [[spoiler:Subverted, in that he’s a Villainy-Free Villain who never intended to intentionally harm anyone.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Kugiyama used him as a tool in his plan for revenge against Ace.

    Geats Killer (spoilers)

Licht Kugimiya/Geats Killer

Portrayed by: Yasukaze Motomiya (live), Kotaro Kaji (suit)

A deformed monster resembling Kamen Rider GeatsIX.

For tropes applying to Licht Kugimiya, see here.

  • All Your Powers Combined: He was the result of Licht absorbing Supana and the rest of the Geats Rider Chemies.
  • Evil Knockoff: Like X Geats before it, the Geats Killer is derived from Geats IX and is an inversion of one of its original traits. However, while X Geats played off Geats IX's light motifs and the interpretation of its Deus est Machina qualities, the Geats Killer flips Geats IX's Physical God motifs entirely by focusing more on the supernatural aspects of Ace's Asian Fox Spirit motifs instead of Geats IX's mechanical portions.
  • Make My Monster Grow: The final battle sees it enlarge itself to match Star Gotchard and Geats IX's power.
  • Mythology Gag: In all but name, it's Another Geats since it's a monstrous version of the rider it's based on. On top of that, the writer of the film even called it Another Geats before giving it an official name.

Characters from Hyper Battle DVD: Kamen Rider Gotchard: What's That!? Houtaro and Rinne Switched Places!!

    Firemars

Voiced by: Amon Kabe

Level Number: 5
Gotchanko Partner: Inphoenix
Motif: Mars

  • Animate Inanimate Object: Its alternate card art in the special makes it look like a volleyball instead of Mars.
  • Cartoon Creature: As an appellation of the planet Mars, it's little more than a red sphere with a face and sunglasses. Fitting the sports theme of the Hyper Battle DVD, it also vaguely resembles a dodgeball and has alternate art that alters it to look like a volleyball.
  • Cool Shades: The arrow characteristic of all Chemy designs appears on Firemars as a visor, with the chevron on one side and the contrail (which also tapers into a flame) on the other.
  • Eccentric Mentor: Together with Inphoenix, they seem to know how to get Houtarou and Rinne out of the "Freaky Friday" Flip, but won't give it to them unless they clear a bunch of odd challenges the duo has thrown at them.
  • Playing with Fire: It's a fire-based Chemy, owing to Mars's Japanese name literally meaning "fire star."

    Inphoenix

Voiced by: Rie Takahashi

Level Number: 5
Gotchanko Partner: Firemars
Motif: The Phoenix
