    Shuichi Saihara

Shuichi Saihara

Stand: Ashes Remain

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/saihara.png

A survivor from an alternate universe who becomes the Ultimate Investigator.

His Stand, Ashes Remain (named after the Christian rock band Ashes Remain), can infuse him with different colored energies, each of which have their own effects and benefits.

    Kaede Akamatsu

Kaede Akamatsu

Stand: Clair de Lune

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kaede_9.png

The Ultimate Pianist, an optimistic and cheerful young woman.

Her Stand, Clair de Lune (named after a Claude Debussy piano piece), allows Kaede the ability to create music waves for both offense and defense. The better she plays, the stronger the waves.

  • Expy: Her Stand has similar properties to Sona.
  • Foil: Her Stand is one to Ibuki's, with Sonic Youth having a physical form and a musical theme of death metal, while Clair de Lune is more of a physical object and themed around classical music.
  • I Hate Past Me: She notes that her alternate counterpart's biggest mistake was letting the idea of murdering the mastermind get into her head, playing right into Team Danganronpa's hands.
  • Meaningful Name: "Clair de Lune" has always been considered Kaede's Leitmotif, so is it any wonder that her Stand would be named as such? She even admits she named it for that very piece, feeling it was the very essence of her soul.

    Kokichi Oma

Kokichi Oma

Stand: Pharoah Sanders

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ouma_4.png

The Ultimate Prankster, an intelligent young boy who leads a group of fellow pranksters.

His Stand, Pharoah Sanders (named after jazz musician Pharoah Sanders), consists of thirty Egyptian foot-soldiers made out of electricity that can attack using electrical surges, but can be used to perform various other tasks outside of combat.

  • Adaptational Name Change: His Ultimate talent this time is Prankster rather than Supreme Leader. Justified in that Hope's Peak Academy in reality would never accept such an outlandish title as "Supreme Leader".
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: He doesn't lie as often, and actively works with the team instead of zigzagging between helping and hindering on a whim.
  • Big Damn Heroes: His Stand awoke just in time to help him save his friends outside of the academy.
  • I Hate Past Me: He feels his alternate self made far too many mistakes due to a lack of filter and an inability to trust others.

    Maki Harukawa

Maki Harukawa

Stand: The Joykiller

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maki_2_0.png

A survivor from an alternate universe who becomes the Ultimate Child Caregiver.

Her Stand, The Joykiller (named after punk rock band The Joykiller). It wields an axe that can phase through objects and cause anything it chops to gradually rot.

  • Expy: Her new Stand has similarities to Jason Voorhees.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: The events of her world have caused her to grow close to Shuichi and Himiko.
  • Hitman with a Heart: Unofficially she still holds the title of Ultimate Assassin (the only reason she's not this officially is that one of her upperclassmen already holds the title). But she's a good friend to her classmates, and she definitely earns the title Ultimate Child Caregiver.
  • Official Couple: She winds up finding new love with this world's Kaito.

    Himiko Yumeno

Himiko Yumeno

Stand: Pixies

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/himiko_6.png

A survivor from an alternate universe who becomes the Ultimate Magician.

Her Stand, Pixies (named after British alternative rock band Pixies), is a tree-like Stand that can use its roots to manipulate the ground, as well as generate tiny, fairy-like constructs that can possess and manipulate small objects.

  • Ambiguously Bi: She has some Ship Tease moments with Tenko, but also with Kokichi.
  • Commonality Connection: She quickly befriends Trixie over being magicians who are granted the title of "Ultimate Magician" by Hope's Peak Academy.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: The main physical form of her Stand is a tree with roots that can manipulate earthen materials.

    Rantaro Amami

Rantaro Amami

Stand: Ra

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/amami.png

The Ultimate Adventurer and Reincarnation of Jonathan Joestar.

His Stand, Ra (named after the Egyptian god Ra), allows him to control light similarly to its previous holder, Jonathon Joestar. Because of Rantaro's inability to use Hamon, Ra's abilities are much stronger to the point where it can also now create light refractions.

  • Actor Allusion: Rantaro being the reincarnation of Jonathan is a reference to how both are voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch.
  • Came Back Strong: Since Rantaro only has Jonathan's soul and memories, not his Hamon ability, Ra grows in power to compensate.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He shows up at the end of A Gentleman, A Thief, A King, and A Hero, confirming to Lupin that Jonathan did indeed get the reincarnation he wished for.
  • Foreshadowing: Rantaro having Jonathan Joestar's Stand (due to reincarnation) shows that any Stand user who reincarnates will take their Stand with them, since Stands are tied to the soul. This would open the door for another character showing this same trait in Stars Are Eternal.
  • Reincarnation Romance: He's in a relationship with Tsumugi, who he confirms is Erina's reincarnation.

    Ryoma Hoshi

Ryoma Hoshi

Stand: Payable on Death

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hoshi.png

The Ultimate Tennis Pro, a calm and rational young man.

His Stand, Payable on Death (named after nu metal band P.O.D.), can reflect physical projectiles regardless of their size. By doing so, it gradually gathers bits of kinetic energy until he can transfer it to another reflected projectile, and launch it back with twice the amount of force.

  • Adaptational Angst Downgrade: He never had to become Killer Tennis in this world, and thus doesn't have the Ultimate Prisoner title.
  • Required Secondary Powers: His Stand wouldn't be as effective if he wasn't such a tennis pro.
  • Savage Spiked Weapons: His Stand doubles as a melee weapon with spikes running around the rim.
  • Shown Their Work: "Payable on Death" is actually what P.O.D stands for, hence why that was used for the Stand name.
  • You Are Not Alone: Basically he says this much to Shuichi, reminding him that, while the classmates he knew are long dead, he's got a new family now that he can rely on.

    Kirumi Tojo

Kirumi Tojo

Stand: Genie in a Bottle

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tojo.png

The Ultimate Maid, a dedicated young woman who takes her vocation seriously.

Her Stand, Genie in a Bottle (named after a Christina Aguilera song), can grant wishes to anyone who makes requests preceded by the words "I wish". These wishes can be granted in various ways, whether as twisted wishes to punish the wicked, or as ways to bring happiness to those who do deserve it.

  • Adaptational Wimp: Zig-zagged. She's still an Ultimate, but she notes that leading an entire country is beyond her abilities. At the same time though, she possesses a Stand capable of granting wishes.
  • Benevolent Genie: Kirumi mostly acts in this regard, though depending on who wishes on her Stand, she can easily turn into either a Literal Genie or even a Jackass Genie.
  • Loophole Abuse: When one of the Evillious Stand users casually wishes someone close to them was back, someone long dead, Kirumi wonders if her Stand can even bring back the dead (keep in mind Jotaro once suggested such a power was beyond those with Stands). She settles on bringing the individual back from the past prior to their death.
  • Mythology Gag: One of her stock phrases in canon is "I shall grant your wishes". And here she has a Stand that can literally grant wishes.
  • Required Secondary Power: Kirumi is capable of reading the minds of anyone who says "I wish X" in her presence, so that she can decide wether or not to actually grant the wish. She can even twist the wish of those whose desires are... Less than noble.

    Angie Yonaga

Angie Yonaga

Stand: One of Us

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/angie_yonaga_57.png

The Ultimate Artist, a religious girl from a distant island.

Her Stand, One of Us (named after a Joan Osborne song), grants Angie the ability to commune with her god, Atua, when she gets into a lotus position. Through One of Us, Atua can unleash various divine powers, like energy beams that only target the wicked, or generating a shield to protect Angie.

  • Bolt of Divine Retribution: More like laser of divine retribution, which can only harm those that are truly villainous.
  • God Is Good: With it being known that deities actually exist in the JJNU, it's implied that not only is Angie's god Atua real, he's very benevolent, as evidenced by the mechanics of Angie's Stand.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: One of Us comes with a perfect defensive barrier that protects Angie while her Stand is active.
  • Power Floats: When Angie's Stand is active, she floats in midair with her legs crossed.
  • Token Religious Teammate: She's the only member of the class with any definitive religious affiliation.

    Tenko Chabashira

Tenko Chabashira

Stand: Feel Invincible

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tenko.png

The Ultimate Aikido Master, Tenko is a fierce and protective girl.

Her Stand, Feel Invincible (named after a Skillet song), manifests as an aura that sharpens Tenko's senses to superhuman levels. This allows her to not only detect weak points, but also pick out aggressors in a crowd, no matter their intentions.

  • Adaptational Expansion: Neo-Aikido in this story is explained as being a mix of traditional aikido and taekwondo, which Tenko developed to mix self-defense with a more offensive style.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: She doesn't think All Men Are Perverts like in canon, just some of them.
  • Bully Hunter: She makes use of her Stand dealing with bullies and perverts that most other people ignore. And if said individuals try to retaliate later, she deals with them again. She notes that only the worst scumbags try it more than once.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: She's an incredible martial artist on her own, but her Stand makes her unstoppable in hand-to-hand combat.

    Korekiyo Shinguji

Korekiyo Shinguji

Stand: Napalm Death

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/korekiyo.png

The Ultimate Anthropologist, a young man who travels the world to study.

His Stand, Napalm Death (named after British grindcore band Napalm Death), is a calligraphy pen that uses the alphabet as bombs and the ink as black powder. The bigger the writing is, the bigger the explosion. It's also capable of generating time bombs that can have a limit of up to ten seconds.

  • Adaptational Heroism: He's not a serial killer in this timeline, nor does he have any questionable attraction to his sister.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Enforced. He made sure that when Shuichi first saw him, his mask was down, in order to indicate that he was nothing like his alternate counterpart.
  • I Hate Past Me: He's disgusted by the actions committed by his V3 counterpart, to the point of expressing that if he wasn't already dead, Korekiyo would kill him himself using his Stand.
  • The Pen Is Mightier: The bombs Napalm Death creates are made from letters Kiyo writes in midair. The bigger the writing, the bigger the boom.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Applies to him of course, but also to his sister, who he notes is very much alive in this universe.

    Miu Iruma

Miu Iruma

Stand: Caravan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/iruma.png

The Ultimate Inventor, a slightly perverted but diligent engineer.

Her Stand, Caravan (named after British progressive rock band Caravan), acts like a merchant that creates and gives its user whatever she needs in exchange for money or spiritual energy.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: She's not nearly as filthy in mind or mouth as she is in canon, and definitely gets along with her entire class.
  • Cast from Money: Her Stand requires physical currency to create its items. Luckily she has plenty of funds from the patents on her inventions.
  • Closest Thing We Got: In a pinch, such as if Miu is low on pocket cash, Caravan can draw on Miu's spiritual energy to craft items.
  • Foil: To her alternate counterpart. For example, one invention that Canon!Miu derided, a specially designed eye-drop contact, is what this version of Miu considers her greatest invention.
  • Robosexual: She has a relationship with Keebo.

    Gonta Gokuhara

Gonta Gokuhara

Stand: Adam Ant

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gonta.png

The Ultimate Entomologist, a young man raised by Gigans.

His Stand, Adam Ant (named after British punk musician Adam Ant), takes the appearance of an insect horde made up of one thousand units. Each insect is capable of eroding living flesh.

    Kaito Momota

Kaito Momota

Stand: Intergalactic

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2_282.png

The Ultimate Astronaut, a boisterous and confident space explorer.

His Stand, Intergalactic (named after a Beastie Boys song), grants Kaito a space suit, as well as a plasma pistol that can be charged to lob explosive energy spheres.

    Keebo Idabashi

Keebo Idabashi

Stand: Machinehead

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hopebot.png

The Ultimate Robot, serial number K1-B0.

His Stand, Machinehead (named after a Bush song), can generate an army of nanomachines that can alter his body for a variety of uses.

  • Adaptational Origin Connection: Obviously in this world he's not acting as an interactive camera for an unseen audience.
  • Ascended Extra: He's a second-tier hero in Jojolion but part of the main hero team in Cruel Angel's Thesis.
  • Crossover Relatives: His two younger siblings are Aigis and Jet Alone.
  • Double Entendre: Anytime he mentions Miu giving him a tune-up, people assume that means they're going to have sex.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: The ability to create anything using nanomachines is awesome-sounding already... And then you realize what "anything" truly means. Pushing himself to his limit, Keebo is capable of building and maintaining giant machines!
  • Mecha: He creates one during Cruel Angel's Thesis named Mega World, designed as a combination wolf, crocodile, and rhinoceros.
  • Official Couple: He's in a relationship with Miu.
  • Ridiculously Human Robot: He's been designed to be as human as possible, down to the fine details such as anatomy or being able to eat.
  • Sixth Ranger: An almost literal version when he joins the EVA pilots in Cruel Angel's Thesis.
  • What Measure Is a Non-Human?: His father/creator Mirai Idabashi developed Keebo to be as close to human as possible, and his friends and loved ones all treat him as such.

    Tsumugi Shirogane

Tsumugi Shirogane

Stand: Lady Gaga

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tsumigi_6.png

The Ultimate Cosplayer, a simple girl who expresses herself through costume.

Her Stand, Lady Gaga (named after pop singer Lady Gaga), manifests as a rack of five dresses that she can conjure and change into at will, with each one possessing a different power set.

  • Adaptational Heroism: Yeah, she's not the mastermind of a killing game this time.
  • Age Lift: It's hinted that Tsumugi in canon isn't really a teenager. This version is, however.
  • Making a Splash: Her siren-themed dress gives her water manipulation.
  • Marionette Master: Her patchwork dress lets her control inanimate objects.
  • Master of Threads: Her silk dress lets her shoot strings from her wrists.
  • Meaningful Name: If there's one thing Lady Gaga's known for, it's her outrageous variety of outfits. So it makes sense that a Stand owned by a cosplayer would have that sort of name.
  • Mook Maker: She can summon chess-themed constructs when donning her royal dress.
  • Reincarnation: Much like her boyfriend, Rantaro Amami, who is the reincarnation of Jonathon Joestar, she is the reincarnation of Jonathon's wife, Erina Joestar (nee Pendleton).
  • Technopath: The power granted to her by her steampunk dress.
