The co-creator of SMPLive and one of its original 12 members. Cooper is highly mischievous, and one of the largest Trolls on the server. Due to his history as a UHC player, he is highly skilled in combat, leading to him being a frequent choice for hits on other players, and having a relatively low death count when compared to his join date. He founded the Anti-Cult Coalition along with CallMeCarson and Traves to fight cults on the server, and owns several shops at spawn. Cooper is also notable for his affinity for unnecessarily complicated redstone farms and traps.
- The Ace: Cooper is highly skilled in both trap-making and combat, and respected for this.

prior to the series. - Cuckoosnarker: Despite Cooper being a Deadpan Snarker and often playing the role of Travis's minder, he's prone to Cloudcuckoolander behavior himself, frequently engaging in Word-Salad Humor, something Joko refers to as "word vomit". This can especially be seen when he's drunk in "Drinking and Killing CaptainSparklez", though it can be seen when he's sober as well.Cooper: The sun rises, hot dog lady!
- The Cobbler's Children Have No Shoes: You'd think the server's resident master of traps would be able to detect them easily, but when Cooper is chasing Poke around the Spawn Tree trying to kill him, he manages to fall into one of his own pitfall traps.
- Deadpan Snarker: Cooper tends to go into sarcasm mode frequently, especially when around Travis, Poke, or Mikey.
- Drugs Are Bad: Heavily zig-zagged in regards to potions. Cooper is the server cop that installs the rule outlawing potions in the first place, yet when the job is handed off to Joko just a week later, he decides to start a Black Market for them. And then a few weeks later, he freaks out when Travis uses potions in a fight against him, begging Schlatt & Co. to arrest him for this crime.
- Fiendish Fish: Cooper is an anthropomorphic fish who is known for his skills in combat and tendency to play sometimes cruel pranks on others for his amusement.
- Fish People: His skin is an anthropomorphic fish.
- Friendly Sniper: Cooper is highly skilled with ranged weaponry, especially a crossbow, and can take down targets from far distances or mid-air. He's also generally outgoing and upbeat, though anyone nearby is at risk of being made a target for a hit or prank.
- Furry Confusion: Cooper enjoys fishing... Despite being a fish himself.
- The Gadfly: Particularly to Joko, often going out of his way to tease and prank him.
- Gadgeteer Genius: He enjoys creating complicated farms and redstone traps.
- The Hyena: Giggles like an absolute madman frequently over small things.
- I Call It "Vera": His sword is named "DAD".
- Improbable Aiming Skills: Although he is a Master Archer, it's especially impressive that he manages to hit Asaii out of the air multiple times while he's flying using his Riptide trident.
- It Amused Me: This is Cooper's logic for many of the things he does, but especially for his treatment of Joko, as he (and his chat) finds Joko's reactions amusing.
- Jerkass to One: To Joko. Cooper often goes out of his way to prank, torment and kill him for his own amusement.
- Master Archer: Frequently uses a bow (or crossbow) to shoot at his hit targets from afar with highly accurate aim.
- Mirror Character: To Billy — another former UHC player with a green Color Motif known for his skills in combat, who Cooper has conflict with due to Billy's bread cult, as Cooper is a member of the Anti-Cult Coalition. While not the sole reason for the founding of Breadtopia, it's worth noting that Billy decides to start the city after Cooper makes potions and golden apples illegal and the two get into a brief back and forth with each other over it — and Breadtopia is specifically made to be a lawless city.
- Never My Fault: Cooper will avoid taking responsibility for his misdoings — insisting it isn't his fault when killing Joko repeatedly due to the hits he was receiving, as well as pinning the blame on Joko for setting off a Pressure Plate pitfall trap on Pete, even though everyone around saw him step on the plate.
- No Challenge Equals No Satisfaction: Cooper has a special, higher hit price on Schlatt specifically because he finds Schlatt to be too easy (and thus unsatisfying) to kill.
- Obsessively Organized: His chests and inventory are always organized, and he will spend a significant amount of time making sure to put everything in its proper place.
- Only Sane by Comparison: He may seem like the Only Sane Man when around characters like Schlatt, Travis or Mikey, but his antics in any other situation show that's very much not the case, especially when he finds an opportunity to drive someonenote up a wall for his entertainment.
- Opportunistic Bastard: Cooper will take any chance he can get for a prank or to get someone else in trouble.
- Pit Trap: He is known for his redstone pitfall traps, setting them up all over the server for people to fall into.
- Police Are Useless: When Joko is the server cop, Poke has this to say:Poke: I have never seen a worse cop on the server, and Cooper was the previous one, Joko. That's just sad.
- The Prankster: Cooper loves messing with other players by setting up traps for them.
- Professional Killer: While being a hitman is standard fare in the setting, Cooper is notable for how frequently he gets hits.
- Rules Lawyer: While most of the SMPLive players tend to fall into this, Cooper especially does, as he is very concerned with the law when others break it, but will also use his knowledge of the rules to his advantage, whether just to avoid getting caught for his own crimes or through Loophole Abuse.
- Stripperiffic: A rare male example, and Played for Laughs — his server cop outfit features short shorts, thigh highs, and garter straps.
- Terrestrial Sea Life: He's a fish who lives on land with the other server members.
- Torment by Annoyance: This is Cooper's favorite tactic to use against Joko, whether through physical violence or just generally being a nuisance.
- Trap Master: Cooper is incredibly skilled at creating redstone traps that are near-impossible to detect unless you already know they're there. He scatters many of these pitfall traps across the server (something which is the setup for many Brick Jokes later on), and once even manages to fall into his own trap.
- Troll: Cooper is a massive troll, particularly aiming his antics against Joko. One of his pranks included building a giant gay pride flag on the side of Joko's cruise ship at spawn.
- Unlimited Wardrobe: Downplayed. While most SMPLive characters wear a single outfit or have just a few different skins, Cooper has a much wider array of outfits, thanks to his audience submitting skins for him.

Jawsh is one of the original 12 SMPLive members, and a Butt-Monkey for the other players. He is a skilled builder who lives in a Big Fancy Castle off the side of a mountain. He gets frustrated with his mistreatment very quickly, sometimes even threatening to Rage Quit.
- Amazing Technicolor Population: Jawsh has literal white skin.
- Big Fancy Castle: His Home Base is a giant castle built off the side of a mountain.
- Butt-Monkey: Josh is a frequent target for bullying by other players due to his reactions.
- Rage Quit: This is the usual reaction Josh has to his mistreatment, which only encourages the others to terrorize him more.

- Blue Means Smart One: Sneeg's blue motif can be interpreted as representing his intellect, which helps him to be one of the strongest PVPers on the server.
- One-Man Army: Sneeg takes out 5 people in a short amount of time in "INSANE MINECRAFT 1v5".
- The Prankster: He loves messing with others. He once tricked Schlatt into helping him build a giant obsidian penis outside his own base.

Ted is one of the original 12 members of SMPLive. He is known as the Milkman, and he wants to ensure everyone on the server has milk buckets. He is the owner of Ted Nivison Enterprises, a highly successful business venture on the server.
- Cold Ham: Ted has his own flavor of snarky Comical Overreacting, such as his reaction when he dies in the Nether in one of Travis's SMPLive videos:Ted: This world we live in is made up of demons. I am surrounded by... Demons, that are saying, "Ted, you will die", over and over...
- Cult: Ted runs a cult dedicated to the Void.

Travis is highly over-excitable and easily distracted, though generally one of the quieter server members. His quietness does not detract from his giant chaotic streak, however, and he frequently gets himself and other players into trouble. He is actually very competent despite his Cloudcuckoolander personality, and is one of the founding members of the Anti-Cult Coalition, along with running a construction firm at spawn with Luemas. - Despite Travis's skin being a monkey, all of his VOD thumbnails depict him as an anthropomorphic shiba inu.

- Beware the Quiet Ones: While Travis is one of the quieter server members, he is also a little shit who lives for chaos.
- Beware the Silly Ones: Travis frequently has his skills in PVP and other aspects of the game underestimated based on his Cloudcuckoolander behavior. People mistakenly assume he is dumb, when in actuality he is very perceptive and great at social reasoning, even if he does tend to be a bit scatter-brained.

Some of these things include roleplaying a roller coaster with Cooper's chat, random singing, making strange noises, and saying things with nonsensical grammar.Ted: The words you say... Don't mean anything. You know that, right? Travis.
- Dissonant Serenity: His reaction when dying and losing all his things in "my saddest experience in minecraft" is unusually calm.
- Ditzy Genius: "High intelligence, low wisdom" is probably the best way to describe Travis. He's actually quite intelligent and skilled in PVP, but tends to say things that make people question that and sometimes isn't the best with social situations.
- Early Installment Character-Design Difference: His human skin is only used for the first month and is quickly replaced.
- Expy: According to Cooper, it was apparently his idea for Travis's character to be similar to BMO, who Travis's skin for much of SMPLive resembles. Cooper says that Travis and BMO act very similarly, and that's why he proposed that Travis's character should resemble the robot.
- Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Travis doesn't swear much, if at all, instead opting for words that many would see as more childish. Downplayed, as Travis isn't above being vulgar in other ways, especially in regards to sexual humor.

- Nature Lover: Mason has a garden at spawn that he is extremely protective of.
