    General
  • Aesop Amnesia: If the amount of times they've had to learn the exact same lesson could be converted into finances, it'd easily be enough for Mario to not have to worry about his house payment anymore.
  • Awful Wedded Life: Marvin and Brooklyn Guy are both stuck in variations of this: for Marvin, not only does he have to put up with Rose constantly enabling Jeffy's behavior and generally not seeming to care all that much whenever he suffers, she also regularly threatens to leave him on a whim. Brooklyn's is slightly better, as Karen, in spite of her utter stupidity, genuinely seems to love him unconditionally - though "slightly" is there for a reason. It's because of said stupidity that Brooklyn cannot stand to be around her, so much so that he rejoiced when it seemed like they were going to get a divorce.
  • Beauty, Brains, and Brawn:
    • Bowser Junior (brawn), Cody (brains), and Joseph (beauty).
    • Bowser Junior (brawn), Chef Pee Pee (brains), and Bowser (beauty).
    • Jeffy (brawn), Mario (brains), and Rosalina (beauty).
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: They've shown on several occasions that they're not above throwing each other under the bus in order to get out of being punished.
    • In "Jeffy and Junior Sneak Out!", Junior rats on Jeffy when they snuck out of the house after being told not to go outside, saying that it was Jeffy's idea.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Blank Check!", after the police arrive and Mario's attempt to cover for Black Yoshi fails, Mario tells Black Yoshi to come in the living room. Black Yoshi never shows up, and Mario is arrested. The video ends with Black Yoshi celebrating that he's rich after Mario and Brooklyn have left.
    • In "Bowser Junior's Stinky Friend!", after Junior steals Chef Pee Pee's car, he tells Cody to lie for him, despite Chef Pee Pee clearly hearing him doing so.
    • In "Jeffy Gets Framed!", Junior and his friends pin the blame on Jeffy after Junior accidentally breaks Rosalina's vase containing her grandparents' ashes.
  • Comic Trio: Three, each of which the videos usually alternate between.
  • A Day In The Lime Light: With the exception of Rosalina and Joseph, all of the main characters have starred in at least one spin-off series:
    • Mario has Mario and Luigi's Stupid and Dumb Adventures with Mama Luigi. He also shares one with Bowser in Mario and Bowser's Stupid and Crazy Adventure.
    • Black Yoshi has Black Yoshi and the Birds
    • Shrek has Baby Shrek
    • Toad has Toad's Mistake
    • Woody has Shrimpo Hunter
    • Chef Pee Pee has Chef Pee Pee Quits
    • Bowser Jr. has Bowser Junior's Summer School
    • Cody has Cody Goes To Kindergarten!
    • Jeffy has Jeffy Ball Z
    • Brooklyn has Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
  • Deadpan Snarker: Most of them, but especially Brooklyn T. Guy.
  • Depending on the Writer: They fluctuate between being self-serving pricks who can't stand to be around one another with practically no redeeming qualities to their names, a group of Vitriolic Best Buds who have each others' backs when the going gets tough, or just incredibly stupid. After the C&D and the subsequent permanent shift to the puppets, they've mainly stuck with the first characterization.
  • Demoted to Extra: In buttloads. This was mainly a consequence of Junior and then Jeffy's promotion to main character status.
    • Shrek, Black Yoshi, Toad, and Woody all used to be major characters, but since the late 2010s, they rarely appear in videos. Woody and Toad were greatly overshadowed by Mario and Junior's current friends respectively, while Shrek and Black Yoshi's appearances were lessened because of their Toilet Humor and racial sterotypes respectively.
    • Joseph and Rosalina also get noticeably less screen time compared to others. In most cases, they function as a Satellite Character, with the few episodes centering on them amping up their negative traits. This became especially apparent in the videos from 2018 and onwards, where they are usually entirely unimportant to the plots (and in Rosalina's case during 2018 to 2019, outright absent).
    • Bowser has little importance as of 2017, as he has since been sidelined to scenes and plots involving Charleyyy and Friends.
  • Didn't Think This Through: There are many, many times where the plots of entire videos more than likely wouldn't have happened had they stopped and thought about what they were doing. This applies especially to Junior and Jeffy.
  • Dysfunction Junction: All of them have some sort of major character flaw that drives many of their antics, whether it be Junior's immaturity, Jeffy's boundless idiocy, or Shrek's unhygienic habits.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness
    • In early videos, the Mario characters were rather similar to their portrayals in the games. As of Junior's arrival, the videos seldom-referenced the games, and now that Nintendo sent Logan a cease and desist letter, the characters lost all connections to their video game counterparts, including their designs.
    • Mario was just a sensible man whose main obstacles was his idiotic housemates, mainly Shrek and Black Yoshi. Meanwhile, Toad was the Butt-Monkey and the designated Kenny McCormick of the show and Bowser was the series' Big Bad. Nowadays, Mario is just as much of a Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist as his roommates, Black Yoshi and Shrek rarely appear, Bowser becomes less of a villain, and Toad's butt-monkey status was given to Chef Pee Pee.
    • Bowser Jr. was a obnoxious, spoiled, and immature brat who always annoyed Chef Pee Pee and was consistently beaten by his dad. He was close friends with Toad, Joseph, and a Shy Guy named Tanner, and he often bullied Cody with his friends. Cody and Joseph were designed as stereotypes of a school nerd and sports jock respectively, and seemed to have normal lives otherwise. In modern videos, Junior's bratty tendencies had seemingly diminished. Joseph and Cody's archetypes were also swapped with unusual eccentricities, and Jeffy appears to currently be Junior's only close friend besides them.
    • Rosalina was initially introduced as a Dumb Blonde with a fixation on cosmology while Jeffy first came around as legitimately handicapped and always bothered Mario with his antics. They seem to have gotten smarter as of 2017, but not without their worst attributes being dialed up as well, with Rosalina grasping the Jerkass Ball much more frequently and Jeffy becoming a Sir Swearsalot with a cantankerous side to boot.
  • Failure Hero: Rare as it is for them to try and do good things or undo each other's (or their own) mistakes, it's even rarer that it ever actually works out. Videos such as "The Ring!" "The Bake Sale!", "The Past Machine!", "Psychic Jeffy!", and "Jeffy Plays Football!" demonstrate how they may as well not even try at all.
  • The Friends Who Never Hang: Despite living in the same house together, it's rare that you actually see them all interacting with one another as a group. Some of them (for instance, Junior and Mario) have hardly even interacted at all. Only in certain episodes like "The Golden Egg", "Among Us", or "The Baseball Game" does the cast gather all together.
  • Odd Friendship: How else do you explain a chaotic household resided by an unlucky patriarch, who is married to an extraterrestrial woman and adopted a simpleminded child with a pencil shoved up his nose, a cheesecake-loving ogre, a black dinosaur who loves playing Call of Duty, a living toy cowboy who loves shrimps, a talking mushroom with a rapping career, a giant turtle who enjoys watching Charleyyy and Friends and has a son who is compassionate about trains, and a poorly treated Lethal Chef? It doesn't end there. They are all frequently visited by a sarcastic man with a thousand jobs, a depraved nerd who is sexually interested in a doll, and a mentally deranged boy with a screwed up childhood.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble:
    • Jeffy (choleric)
    • Junior (sanguine)
    • Cody (melancholic)
    • Joseph (phlegmatic)
  • The Nth Doctor: The Nintendo plushes after they transmissioned into "Human Puppets".
  • The Smurfette Principle: Rosalina is the only female character among the main cast.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Mario, Jeffy, Bowser Junior, and Brooklyn T. Guy have infamously been the protagonist in more videos than the rest of the cast.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: All of the main characters have died at least a few times, only to come back in the next video.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Not that they were perfect from the start, but later videos gradually worsened their negative traits. Nowadays, you really couldn't put much reprehensible actions past them.
  • Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist: With the exception of Woody, they're all absolutely awful people, but that's more or less why so many tune in to watch them every week. That said, some of them do have standards while others have little to no reason to.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Even before the shift to Human Puppets, most of them sounded nothing like the character they're based on. Most noteworthy examples include Mario, whose voice is much deeper and lacks his trademark Italian accent, Bowser Junior, who has a rather adult-sounding voice, and Black Yoshi, who has a very different voice compared to the rest of his species. Shrek is the closest to sounding like his canon-self, and even then, his voice is quite guttural compared to the one Mike Myers uses for the ogre.
  • With Friends Like These...: With all the downright despicable things they've done to one another, it's a wonder how any of them are still on speaking terms.

Voiced by: Logan Thirtyacre

The main star (at least until Bowser Junior appeared) of the show. He is one of the only sensibile characters on the show, and is married to Rosalina. In "Mario The Babysitter!", he reluctantly became Jeffy's Parental Substitute, and eventually became his adoptive father in "Jeffy's Parents!".

  • Abusive Dad: After he reluctantly becomes the Parental Substitute to Jeffy, he has tried to get rid of him in "Jeffy's Special Easter!" and "Where's Jeffy?", shot him with a Nerf gun saying "Die Jeffy!" in "Bowser Junior's Nerf War!", locked him in the bathroom and pretended not to hear him in "Jeffy's Cellphone!", hired the Loan Dolphin to kill Jeffy in "The Hitman!", punched Jeffy off the bed and onto the floor in "The New House!", admitted it'd be great if Jeffy died in "Jeffy's Flu Shot!", celebrated when he assumed that Jeffy died in "Smart Jeffy!" and beat him up after Jeffy cussed at him twice in "First Day Of School!". When you have to deal with a child as ill-behaved as Jeffy, however, your patience would be worn thin very, very quickly, to the point that most fans side with Mario.
  • Accidental Pervert: He was accused of being a rapist and a registered sex offender because he spanked Jeffy.
    Jeffy: What's a "spanking"?
Mario: A spanking is when I hit you in the butt with my hand.
    Jeffy: In my butt?
    Rosalina: In the what?
    Mario: What?
Rosalina: You said in the butt, with your hand.
    Mario: Yeah, but...
Jeffy: You're gonna put your hand in my butt, faggot?
    Mario: WHAT? No!
    Rosalina: That's pretty gay, Mario...
  • Adaptational Wimp: In the games, Mario is known for being a determined and chipper do-gooder capable of all sorts of tremendous physical feats — traits this interpretation of him couldn't muster even if he tried. His attempts to keep his unruly housemates and adopted son in check are generally ineffective, and he's pushed around by everyone around him because he's too meek and submissive to stand up for himself. By the time the main SML Movies' portrayal of Luigi makes an appearance in "Ghost Jeffy!", Luigi somehow manages to come off as less of a loser than his brother.
  • All Men Are Perverts: Several examples:
    • In "Mario's New Girlfriend!", he admits to sleeping with Peach's thong.
    • And in "Happy Merry Christmas!", when Rosalina gives him his gift, Mario is hoping for nudes.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Jeffy's obnoxious behavior manages to push it way more than most of his other housemates' actions.
    • He's also driven to an almost Ax-Crazy state whenever he sees turtles.
    • And he really loses it whenever someone (especially Jeffy) poops anywhere but the toilet. Shrek learned it the hard way when he pooped on the couch.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Mario is one of the nicer characters in the series, but his patience with his housemates has really dwindled down after Jeffy was dumped on his doorstep.
  • Big, Thin, Short Trio: The Short to Jeffy's Big and Rosalina's Thin.
  • Born Unlucky: Rarely does Mario ever catch a break. He's dealt with a women who left him only because he was bald, lives with two inconsiderate roommates who constantly mooch off him, and has to put up with a handicapped son who endeavors in pestering Mario to no end, another women who, while stayed with him this time, acts like a Jerkass towards Mario and takes the handicapped child's side, no matter what, and a morally corrupt landlord who goes out of his way to antagonize Mario.
  • Butt-Monkey: Unlike his canon counterpart, Mario has a pretty sorry life. He's a pathetic wimp who hardly anyone respects, and any situation he's thrown into will almost always end against his favor. It became briefly Downplayed after "Mario's New Girlfriend!", but was reinstated with extreme prejudice starting from "Mario the Babysitter!".
  • Can't Live with Them, Can't Live Without Them: In "Jeffy's Parents!", after finally being rid of Jeffy, he has a hard time getting used to the silence after Jeffy bothering him with all sorts of noises for so long. He even starts playing with Jeffy's cat piano.
  • The Chew Toy: He becomes this after reluctantly taking care of Jeffy.
  • Characterization Marches On: Was originally a Straight Man and purposely intended to not be a funny character in the "Classic" era. By the time Rosalina and Jeffy came to be, Mario had become much more impatient, greedy, and selfish.
  • Child Hater: Downplayed. He doesn't hate all children; he just does terribly with them, as seen with Shrek Jr. and especially Jeffy.
  • Cosmic Plaything: Most episodes starring Jeffy are more or less Mario Torture Porns, including "Jeffy's Bad Word" and especially "Locked Out". The torture has been slightly toned down after "Locked Out" due to backlash.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Sometimes. Even in that regard, Mario isn't particularly hilarious.
  • Demoted to Extra: Was originally the main star of the series before Junior's debut. And lately, since 2016, most episodes involving Mario are about Jeffy. Mario often plays a big role in Jeffy episodes, however.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Mario will have absolutely no harm in giving anybody their comeuppance, especially those who have constantly annoyed him.
    • He spanked Jeffy in "Jeffy's Bad Word!". However, this resulted in a Wham Shot and Mario's Cosmic Plaything status racing off the charts for the remainder of the episode.
    • In "The New House!", he pushes Jeffy off the bed when he won't stop jumping on it.
    • In "First Day of School!", Mario gave Jeffy a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown at the end of the episode after he cussed at him twice.
    • In "Happy Merry Christmas!", he locks Jeffy in the closet as punishment for opening all of the Christmas presents and lying to him about being a good boy. He also organizes all of the LEGO and Thomas & Friends toys for Junior and refuses to give any to Jeffy.
    • In "Jeffy's Tantrum!", Mario decides to not buy Jeffy a $2.99 game on his iPad. This in turn causes Jeffy to go on a massive tirade by destroying both his couch and TV. Mario eventually has enough and begins to whip Jeffy several times with his belt, and he eventually sells his iPad to pay for a new couch.
    • He slams the door onto Peach’s face in "Mario's Valentine’s Day Problem" as revenge for not only despising all the things he did for her to win her affections, but for divorcing him over being bald nearly five years prior to this episode.
    • After being taken advantage of by Black Yoshi so many times, he finally calls him out for stealing his ring that he was gonna use to propose to Rosalina and threatens to kick him out of the house unless he gets it back.
  • Dogged Nice Guy: Is often so afraid of hurting women's feelings that he ends up going with what they want.
  • Driven to Suicide: In pre-Rosalina episodes, Mario sometimes tries to kill himself due to going into depression for not having a girlfriend. This is the same thing during Jeffy episodes, where Mario contemplates killing himself multiple times so that he doesn't have to deal with Jeffy anymore. He himself actually does it at the end of "Jeffy's Homework!" when Goodman believed Jeffy's Insane Troll Logic regarding math.
  • Extreme Doormat: He often has trouble telling people "no", such as when he pays a homeless guy named Hansel to unclog his toilet and he just continues getting beer. Mario tells him he can't have beer, but he ends up caving when Hansel says that beer helps him work.
  • Failed a Spot Check: On multiple occasions, he's easily fallen for characters wearing Jeffy Paper-Thin Disguises, despite ironically being able to recognize Jeffy's own disguises himself. Brooklyn Guy has even called him out twice on this.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: If the episode centers around Jeffy, then whatever Mario does to deal with or get rid of Jeffy will be met with complete failure.
    • Also, any attempt to win back Peach or gain a new girlfriend, in the pre-Rosalina episodes.
    • In "The Ring", Mario tries to propose to Rosalina, only for Jeffy to throw the wedding ring and lose it and when Mario and Chef Pee Pee finally find it, the ring falls down the drain.
    • In "Jeffy's 18th Birthday!", after waiting years for Jeffy's 18th birthday to arrive so that he could get some of the money that Jeffy would've inherited from his biological father, it turns out that Jeffy's dad never died, thus losing out on the money he wanted.
  • Fantastic Racism: In "Rosalina's Parents!", he displays a notable disliking of aliens.
    • He also has a psychotic loathing of turtles, likening them to Koopa Troopas.
  • Foolish Husband, Responsible Wife: Inverted; he's the Responsible Husband to Rosalina's Foolish Wife. He makes more of an effort to discipline Jeffy than Rosalina and tends to be one of the few characters in the main cast who's not normally stupid. However, he's frequently Not So Above It All and is abusive to Jeffy at worst.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The Responsible to Luigi's Foolish.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: He has a very short temper and no patience (not without reason) with Jeffy.
  • Heroic BSoD:
    • He's prone to breaking down into sobbing whenever he's unable to deal with a particuarly bad situation.
    • He suffers a really huge one in "Nintendo Switch" when Jeffy destroys the titular console. He even goes as far as screaming and yelling in a high voice.
    • He goes into another big one in "The Couch!" after he finds out that Shrek pooped on the couch. This gets to the point where Mario kicks Shrek out of the house.
  • Hypocrite: He has been known to chide Black Yoshi for doing anything illegal, yet he he also enlisted aid from the Loan Dolphin, tried to get Jeffy killed simply for annoying him and even slaughtered animals and so forth.
  • Hypocritical Humor: In "Jeffy's New Toy!", when he goes to Toys'R'Us to buy Jeffy a toy so he will shut up about seeing Ass Pounders 2, Jeffy tosses a toy of Bob the Minion on the floor. Mario scolds him for it, telling him he would have had to pay for the toy if it got broken. Mario then sees a toy of Baymax, decides he doesn't like it, and tosses it on the floor.
  • Idiot Ball: In the first Millionaire episode, he forgot what year Super Mario Bros. was released on the NES. He ends up using his 50-50 to eliminate the four choices to 1985 and 1942. He ends up guessing 1942.
  • Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: Though not necessarily a villain, he is stuck with Jeffy no matter what he tries to do, and even if he does bite back at Jeffy, his attempts to do so fail. In the presence of Jeffy, Mario flanderizes into a Jerkass illegal guardian who works all his heart to do the right thing but fails in the end, while Rosalina is more caring towards Jeffy than Mario and calls him out in the moment that he abuses Jeffy in any way. It doesn't help that most Jeffy episodes are more or less Mario torture porns. Exaggerated in "Jeffy's Bad Word!", where some fans genuinely felt sorry for Mario due to him getting constantly harshly tortured far over his Butt-Monkey status, to the point where he gets considered a registered sex offender and a felon, and has Rosalina tell him off. What Mario did to receive all of this was spank Jeffy for saying the word "faggot". The fact that everyone surrounding Mario was no more than idiotic and stupid contributed to the situation.
  • Irony: There is something oddly hilarious about a video game character claiming that video games cause violent behaviour in "Jeffy Plays Minecraft!".
  • Jerkass Ball: While nowhere 'near as bad as other characters (especially nowadays), Mario sometimes acts like a bigger jerk than usual.
    • In "Mario's Valentines Day Problem!", he tried to re-date Princess Peach by pretending Rosalina's gifts were for Peach. Thankfully, just in time, he realized that he was being an asshole and permanently dumped Peach to stay with Rosalina.
    • In earlier videos, he is seen bullying Toad ("Toad is cool") or sometimes flat out murdering him ("Toad's Mistake!" being the best example of this.) He still has some shades of it nowadays too, like in "Mario's Family Moves Out!", where Mario acts incredibly snobbish towards Chef Pee Pee when he offers him water. Still, he's not always like this and is easily the kindest out of the main characters.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: When dealing with characters like Shrek, Jeffy, Black Yoshi, Rosalina, and so on, it's very understandable why he occasionally acts antagonistic.
  • Jerkass Realization: In "Mario's Valentines Day Problem!", he eventually realized how horrible Princess Peach really is and that Mario was a jerk for trying to re-date her.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's ill-tempered (not without reason) and prone to a lot of dubious actions, but not to the extent of Jeffy and his housemates. He genuinely loves Rosalina and can even be pretty friendly whenever on the occassion things are actually going alright for him.
  • Karma Houdini: For once, Mario gets away with both banning Minecraft and demonetizing a YouTube channel that was breaking stuff in "Jeffy Plays Minecraft!". While he does realize what he has done by the end of the video, there is no indication that he does anything about his actions (especially odd since this is one of the few times where a Humiliation Conga would be well-deserved).
  • Loser Protagonist: Despite being the main character, Mario rarley wins at all, if ever without any negative effects from it. He always fails at changing the hygiene of Black Yoshi and Shrek, was rendered single for quite some time after Peach left him, and is almost never able to keep Jeffy and his unruly behavior in check.
  • Mistaken for Cheating:
    • The ending of "Jeffy's Cellphone!" has Jeffy calling a prostitute, telling her his name is Mario, and asking her to touch his "pee-pee" for five dollars. The prostitute shows up a few seconds later and tells Mario they talked on the phone, confusing Mario and Rosalina. After the prostitute tells Mario she's going to touch his "pee-pee" for five dollars, an angry Rosalina thinks he's cheating on her and beats Mario up.
    • In "The Ring", Rosalina briefly assumes that there's another woman in the kitchen of Mario's house, when Mario doesn't allow her to enter the kitchen.
  • Manchild: Despite his reputation as the Only Sane Man, Mario gradually becomes more immature as of 2020. For example, he pertains his attention onto a LEGO toy of his likeness instead of heeding the fact that Jeffy, Junior, and Joseph are exposed to a pandemic in "Jeffy and Junior Sneak To Disney World!". He often turns into a complete Spoiled Brat if money gets involved, such as in "Rich Mario!".
  • Money Dumb: Any time Mario gains a large amount of money, he immediately spends it on frivolous items. In addition, he is almost never able to make his mortgage payments to Goodman, though it's implied that this is less Mario being bad with money and more that he lives in a large household and Goodman intentionally underpays him so he can have an excuse to torture him.
  • Negated Moment of Awesome: In "Jeffy's Big Idea", it looks at the end like Mario Took a Level in Badass and fought off a mugger, but then it turns out he staged the whole thing.
  • Nice Guy: He was one of the nicer and more generous characters in the cast, though not without grasping the occasional Jerkass Ball moment. Nowadays, he's become less patient and more self-centered, but he still has his moments.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The In-between to Rosalina's Nice and Jeffy's Mean. He is the Straight Man who disciplines Jeffy whenever he misbehaves.
  • No Sympathy: In "Jeffy's Foster Home", he shows no concern for whether or not Jeffy is okay after he escapes Makes Bad Decisions Guy's house. Considering what Jeffy put him through in the first half of the video, though, it's not entirely unjustified.
  • Not So Above It All: Even though Mario is depicted as more sensible than most of the other housemates, he often finds himself acting just as immature, ill-tempered, spoiled, and greedy.
  • Nothing Left to Do but Die: At the end of "Jeffy's Homework!", he shoots himself with a revolver over "Jeffy's Law of Subtraction" and the Amusing Injuries and stress he got himself into while homeschooling Jeffy.
  • Odd Friendship: Is somehow friends with a stereotypical black thug dinosaur, an ogre that's obsessed with cheesecake and toilets, a cowboy obsessed with hunting shrimpos, and a Toad that is a rap star, while also dating a woman from space who is obsessed with stars.
  • Offing the Offspring: In Jeffy's first few appearances, Mario had the goal of ridding Jeffy from his life. Some of his methods included aiming to get Jeffy killed.
  • Only Sane Man: One of the only characters who's not an utter moron.
  • Parental Substitute: He reluctantly becomes this to Jeffy, as Jeffy's real mother was too annoyed by him and didn't want to deal with him any further.
  • Protagonist Title: It is called SuperMarioLogan and he is the main character of the series.
  • Pushover Parents: He always seems to cave into Jeffy's demands, even when he tries to discipline him.
  • Rage Breaking Point: In "Jeffy Got Hypnotized", he got really pissed off when Jeffy throws the TV in the lake.
    • In "Jeffy's 18th Birthday", he definitely doesn't take it well when it’s revealed that Jacques faked his death and Jeffy's not getting the money.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He and Rosalina are the Blue to Jeffy's Red.
  • Running Gag: A lot of jokes are made about his lack of hair on top of his head.
  • Sibling Rivalry: He has one with Luigi in "Ghost Jeffy!", wherein he frequently calls him second-rate.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Mario's major flaw is that he is a creeper towards women, especially Princess Peach. Hell, he even used to sleep with her panties.
  • Stockholm Syndrome: It's very heavily implied he suffers from this. He constantly defends Black Yoshi and Rosalina when they get in trouble with the law, even though Black Yoshi is a moocher who shows absolutely no gratitude, and Rosalina is a massive Hypocrite who views disciplining one's child as abuse, hates money of any kind, is the epitome of a Pushover Parent, and constantly flirts with her ex-boyfriends while blowing up at Mario for simply texting "happy birthday" to Peach and tried to kill him with a hammer.
  • Straight Man: His funniest moments are when he's reacting to other characters.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Let's see. A lazy moocher, a fat slob, a Manchild who's obsessed with Charleyyy and Friends, a ditzy wife, a mentally handicapped child, the list goes on.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: He has died multiple times, only to return without explanation in the next episode.
    • In "Black Yoshi April Fools", he is shot by Black Yoshi after pranking him.
    • In Episode 1 of Baby Shrek, Black Yoshi shoots him just over the latter warning him to keep his stuff away from Shrek Junior's reach.
    • In "The Warp Pipe!", he falls in a warp pipe and gets attacked by multiple enemies to his death, along with Junior.
    • In "Jeffy's Homework!", he shoots himself over "Jeffy's Law of Subtraction".
    • In "The Fishing Trip!", he gets eaten by a shark while trying to save Jeffy.
    • In "Jeffy's Favorite Song!", he gets eaten by a demonic bunny.
    • Mario and Jeffy likely died from the flu in "Jeffy's Flu Shot!", thanks to Bowser catching the flu on Jeffy, who in turn gave Mario the flu.
    • In "Jeffy's Taco Tuesday!", he is caught in an explosion after Jeffy throws his taco bombs on the couch.
    • In "Jeffy Loses His Head!", after Marvin goes back to the past to prevent Jeffy's death, he has Jeffy kill his younger self.
  • Theme Tune: Has this tune called "Bumper Tag" by John Deley whenever nobody appears (e.g Jeffy) and is with Rosalina.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: Mario's time with Jeffy seems to have taken a toll on his intelligence. In "Jeffy's Lunch Money!" and "Jeffy Skips School!", he falls for the Jeffy disguises that Black Yoshi and Mr. Wilfred wear in those respective episodes - taken to ridiculous extremes in the latter as he assumes anyone wearing a shirt with Jeffy's name is his son and fails to recognize the real Jeffy shirtless. At the same time, though, the latter video also heavily implies that Mario isn't actually acting stupid, rather that he has a rare neurological condition called Prosopagnosia, which causes a person to be unable to recognize the faces of familiar people, meaning Mario has to rely on clothing to know who he's talking to. As an aside, this same logic can be applied to Bowser, who has fallen for Bowser Jr.'s Chef Pee Pee disguises on multiple occasions.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Having to take care of inconsiderate and unruly housemates, having a wife who divorced him just because he was bald, having another wife who is unbelievably selfish and always assumes the worst of him, and being dumped a handicapped and ill-behaved child, especially the latter, has dealt its toll on Mario, and he's become far more irritable than he used to be over the years. By "Jeffy and Junior Sneak To Disney World!", years of this seems to have rendered him apathetic as he showed more interest in a Lego figurine of himself than Jeffy's well-being.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: His Abusive Parents tendencies seem to have faded almost entirely after the events of "Jeffy's Parents!", though they've been resurfacing on more than a few occasions.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone:
    • After years of being treated like a Butt-Monkey and complaining about having broken up with Peach, he finally gets a girlfriend in "Mario's New Girlfriend!".
    • At the end of "Jeffy Goes To The Zoo!", he becomes a (inter)national hero.
    • "Nintendo Switch" ends with him receiving a large amount of money after Jeffy's replacement Nintendo Switch inexplicably becomes popular.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: In “Jeffy the Donut King!”, Marvin claims that his favorite food is beans. However, in many videos, it’s implied that his favorite food is green beans, because in “Jeffy Loses His Voice!”, Marvin eagerly suggests a pot full of green beans when Rose asks what they should have for dinner, and in a multitude of videos in which Mario/Marvin feeds Jeffy absolutely nothing more than canned green beans (this can be chocked up to Mario just wanting Jeffy to eat healthy, but it becomes kind of questionable when it’s quite literally the only thing that Marvin ever feeds him, even going so far as to hide green beans in his sandwich, in a pizza, or even making a green bean milkshake).
  • Victory Is Boring: In "Jeffy's Parents!", after giving Jeffy back to his abusive mother Nancy, Mario was deep down starting to miss Jeffy along with playing with the cat piano since it was becoming quiet.
Mario: This is kinda fun. Just a bunch of noises, but no noises! Just quiet time. Quiet Mario time. I can get to relax. Just in the quiet. (Beat) I mean, it is really quiet, but that's what I want. I want quiet. No noise. No Jeffy, or nobody.
(Few seconds later, it's still quiet)
Mario: Maybe I can watch some TV. Nah, no, quiet. Just quiet. By myself.
  • Villainy-Free Villain: In some episodes where he's portrayed in an antagonistic light, he just wants Jeffy to behave himself or otherwise leave him alone.
  • Villain Protagonist: Sometimes. He often grasps this role in endeavors relating to either greed, impressing Rosalina, or giving retribution to Jeffy.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Gets this from Rosalina several times, practically in "Jeffy's Cellphone!" when he locks Jeffy in the bathroom so he doesn't have to deal with him and in "Jeffy's Parents!" after Mario gives Jeffy back to his abusive mother.
    • In "The Couch!", Mario gets this from Black Yoshi of all people, and Rosalina to a lesser extent, when they find out he kicked Shrek out of the house, because Shrek accidentally pooped on the couch.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Mario helps Mama Luigi torture and murder Toad for touching Mama Luigi's nickle in "Toad's Mistake!". He doesn't show any restraint with Jeffy as well, sometimes beating him as punishment and he once pushed Jeffy off a hotel bed for jumping on it in "The New House!". He even tried (but ultimately failed) to have Jeffy killed by the Loan Dolphin for annoying him.
  • Wrongly Accused: He's been blamed on several occasions for the crimes committed by some of his housemates, especially Jeffy, who constantly and indirectly ends up creating a lot of news events that blame Mario for causing it, despite Mario being completely innocent.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: He becomes miserable again after getting Jeffy. Mario has even suffered much deeper points of this thanks to Jeffy, particularly in "Jeffy's Bad Word!" and "Locked Out".

Click here to see her puppet form
Mario's wife. She has an obsession for stars, but she is also a blonde ditz.
  • Adaptational Dumbass: To say she's a far cry from the graceful Big Good in Super Mario Galaxy and her subsequent appearances would be putting it mildly. Here, Rosalina is portrayed as a Dumb Blonde who constantly lets her emotions get the better of her, and is outright unhelpful to Mario in the worst of times.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: A friend and ally of Mario in the games, here, she's his girlfriend and eventual wife.
  • All-Loving Hero: Rosalina never holds a grudge against someone that Mario dislikes. She even treats Jeffy with motherly affection despite his repugnant behavior, loves her adoptive parents and is on friendly terms with D-Money Senior.
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Averted in "The Couch", where she poops on the couch after drinking expired milk. She also ripped ass in "Jeffy Gets Captured!".
  • Berserk Button: She flips out whenever she thinks Mario is cheating on her.
  • Betty and Veronica: The Betty to Peach's Veronica. Rosalina is more mellow while Peach is more abrasive.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She's been shown to call out Mario when he abuses Jeffy in any way. And she loses it when she thinks Mario is cheating on her.
  • Big, Thin, Short Trio: The Thin to Jeffy's Big and Mario's Short.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Despite her mostly healthy relationship/marriage with Mario and generally sweet disposition, thanks to Gallows Humor, Rosalina isn't immune to gripping the Jerkass Ball, especially if it concerns Jeffy in certain episodes.
  • Bound and Gagged: In "The Dead Body!" and "The Secret Door!".
  • Characterization Marches On: Her characterization began as the Dumb Blonde obsessed with stars. Her current portrayal sees her as a gentle but pushover mother and a sometimes aggressive wife.
  • Character Development: When she returned in "Jeffy's Switcheroo!", Rosalina does not defend Jeffy's behavior, instead telling him to listen to Mario.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Rosalina was absent for about two months at one point during early 2017, and hasn't appeared from "Jeffy Has Kids!" until "Jeffy's Switcheroo!", a span of literally half an entire year. The former hiatus was lampshaded in "Jeffy Loses His Pencil!", where Mario asks her what she was doing in those two months, and Jeffy cuts her off just as she's delivering her answer.
    • Following her reappearance in "Jeffy's Switcheroo!", she only appeared in two more episodes, "Jeffy's Summer School" and "Bowser's Mistake", all within summer 2018. After that she went right back into this trope and would not return until "Doctor Jeffy!". This hiatus would gone on for so long, and with so little mention of her whereabouts, that fans believed that she had either divorced Mario, or been retconned out of existence due to Elaina's constant unavailability and Logan's apparent reluctance to simply have Chilly voice Rosalina and then explain the voice difference. It was later revealed in 2019 that Elaina quit the series outright due to college. However, it turns out that Elaina was kicked out of the house because of Chilly’s behavior. After Chilly got kicked out in turn when she turned out to be a Gold Digger, Elaina moved back and Rosalina is here to stay.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She's quick to assume that Mario is seeing another woman, whenever Mario doesn't want her in his house. To be completely fair, he doesn't exactly explain why, which can make one suspicious. Mario finally called her out for this in "Jeffy's Online School!", and Rosalina admits she doesn't know why she always assumes the worst in him.
  • Demoted to Extra: She has been demoted in appearances during 2017, to the point where she ended up going into two hiatuses: one during February-April, and another one from July 2018 to December 2019. Following her reappearance however, she has become a series regular again.
  • Disproportionate Retribution:
    • In "Jeffy's New Toy!", she subjects Mario to a cruel and nightmarish prank, just because he lied to her about a movie he made up.
      • In the same video, she's willing to break up with him just because she believes looking at porn constitutes cheating.
    • In "Mr. Goodman's Revenge!", she goes nuts when Mario wishes Peach (Mario's ex) a happy birthday with no romantic subtext behind it, which is actually very nice considering what she did to him long ago, and thinking he's cheating on her again, she tries to chuck a hammer at Mario, only for it to miss and hit Goodman's car. Needless to say, this little stunt gets her in trouble, which she rightfully deserves punishment for even if Mario's willing to forgive and forget about a hammer being flung his direction just to keep Rosalina out of trouble.
  • Dumbass No More: After Jeffy's debut, she shows far less ditzy traits than before, and often serves as the voice of reason for Mario. She still has tons of moments of showing her massive stupidity, however.
  • Dumb Blonde: As of "The Pizza Delivery!", she is zig-zagged as this.
  • Foolish Husband, Responsible Wife: Inverted; she's the Foolish Wife to Mario's Responsible Husband. No matter how bad Jeffy behaves, Rosalina almost always defends him, wrongly labelling Mario an Abusive Parent.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Even she gets mad at Jeffy for his bad behavior in several episodes.
  • Fatal Flaw: Jumping to conclusions. Even if there's a perfectly reasonable explanation as to why something may have happened, Rosalina will almost always assume the worst of someone without a second thought, something which has led to the main conflict of entire videos. When Mario asks her why she always does this in "Jeffy's Online School!", Rosalina admits she can't answer it herself.
  • Flanderization: In her first few appearances, she seemed to be addicted to seeing stars, and cries during the day when they're gone, but as of "The Pizza Delivery!" she became more of a stereotypical ditzy blonde afterwards.
  • Genius Ditz: She knows a whole lot about astronomy... except for anything involving the Earth itself.
  • Gonk: Oddly, her puppet design is considered the ugliest by the creators.
  • Happily Adopted: By two aliens.
  • Hypocrite: She's vindictive towards Mario when she accuses him of cheating on her, even going so far as to terrify Mario with a prank just for accidentally watching porn through a spam link and lying out of fear in "Jeffy's New Toy!", but in "Shrek's Coma!", she admires Shrek's new body right in front of Mario and has a dinner date when he (understandably) breaks up with her because of this. Even worse, Mario apologizes to her but not the other way around and they're back in their relationship anyway after that. Additionally, this is the woman who had many ex-boyfriends, all whose names emphasize the letter "d," and is even implied to ''have had sex with a chicken of all things.''
  • I Need to Go Iron My Dog: After her actress had to go on a hiatus for half a year due to college note , Rosalina excused her absence saying that she went out to get Mario some Chinese takeout and that the restaurant line was just REALLY long. Also she hit a red light. And a train. Many fans theorized she was actually cheating on Mario with other men, and lied because she knew he would probably kill her. In her return in "Doctor Jeffy", she stated that she was stuck at a stop sign for over a year because she thought that it had to turn green.
  • Jerkass Ball: For a Nice Girl, Rosalina has picked up the balls a lot of times:
    • In "Jeffy's Cellphone", she attacks her husband after believing Mario invited a prostitute to their house, all without giving him a chance to defend himself.
    • The beginning of "Jeffy's Brain!" has her display an unusual bratty side on par with their adopted son.
    • In "Mr. Goodman's Revenge!", she chases him down with a hammer after catching him texting his ex Peach, even when Mario points out her own exes. That last stunt gets her trouble with Goodman, who has her arrested for a good portion of the episode for breaking his car until Mario, after going through hell and back to get his landlord to drop the charges, successfully blackmails him into letting Roslaina off the hook.
  • Mama Bear: She is much more caring towards Jeffy than Mario is (such to an idiotic degree), and is quick to foolishly call Mario out whenever he abuses Jeffy in any way. However, in her latest appearances, she seemed to have dropped this.
  • Minor Flaw, Major Breakup:
    • She has almost broken up with Mario multiple times over several situations involving Jeffy. For example, Jeffy calling a prostitute in "Jeffy's Cellphone!", Mario spanking him in "Jeffy's Bad Word!", Mario letting his mother Nancy take Jeffy away, you name it. Though that last one is more understandable.
    • In "The Dead Body!", she nearly breaks up with him, just because Mario doesn't want her in his house at the moment, assuming Mario no longer wants to see her.
    • In "Jeffy's Online School", she nearly divorces Mario because she saw him viewing a live-cam of Bowser's mother stripping and thought he was cheating on her, even though he was appalled by what he saw.
  • Money Dumb: Subverted. On several occasions, Rosalina has said she hates money. Exactly why is unknown, though a few fans believe it's because she knows that, whenever a character in the series gets their hands on a large amount of money, they immediately became a Jerk with a Heart of Jerk, examples including Mario, Bowser Junior, and especially Goodman. Rosalina’s hatred of money has gotten to the point where she’ll shame Mario for even mentioning money, as in suggesting Jeffy to get a job to make his own money, or joining a bowling tournament with a cash prize. In other situations, Rosalina is at least justified, since Mario wants to do something legitimately wrong for money (e.g. selling Jeffy to Goodman).
  • Morality Pet: To Jeffy. Rosalina is the only person Jeffy will mostly listen to or take advice from, and he thankfully doesn't associate Rosalina with his own loveless, extremely abusive biological mother.
  • Never My Fault: Despite her "nice" behavior in most episodes, she has displayed this behavior in other episodes such as "Mr. Goodman's Revenge!", where she outright blames Mario during a phone call (for her getting arrested for attempted assault on Mario and property damage in the case of Mr. Goodman).
  • Nice Girl: If you look past the unhealthy amount of times she clutched the Jerkass Ball, then she tries to be nice to everyone, and is a lot more patient and caring around Jeffy than [[Butt Monkey Mario]].
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The Nice to Jeffy's Mean and Mario's In-between. She treats Jeffy with respect and sticks up for him if Mario abuses him in any way.
  • Oblivious Adoption: By two aliens.
  • Only Sane Woman: Rosalina is meant to be the voice of reason in cases where Mario wants to do something extreme for money or punish Jeffy in an over-the-top way. However, in recent videos, she comes off as butting in with her own morals to everything Mario wants to do (such as “Jeffy’s Hot Dog Eating Contest”, in which she frowns upon “profiting off of Jeffy eating unhealthy food” or in “Jeffy’s Good Day”, in which she frowns upon “exploring Jeffy’s temper tantrums”).
  • The Ophelia: As weird as she gets, Mario is still attracted to her.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: In "Drawing Jeffy!", she takes Mario's side and never once defends Jeffy like she usually does. Making this moment even more uncharacteristic is that she went back to refusing to punish Jeffy in later videos.
  • Prone to Tears: She's likely to break down crying easily when she accidentally does something that upsets or annoys Mario or when she gets offended about something.
  • Pushover Parents: Good god. While Mario at least makes an effort to keep Jeffy disciplined, Rosalina constantly defends Jeffy, makes excuses for his abhorrent behavior, and accuses Mario of child abuse when he loses his temper at him or tries to punish him. The most extreme example was in "Jeffy's Christmas Gift!", in which she threatens to divorce Mario if he doesn't Jeffy a Turboman action figure, and also accuses him of being mean. One fan has gone as far as to label her a "beta female", in that she always caves in to what Jeffy wants to do, whereas Mario tries to rein Jeffy in.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: She and Mario are the Blue to Jeffy's Red, but Rosalina is still the Red to Mario's Blue.
  • Ret-Gone: Mario is seen trying to have sex with a pencil in "Jeffy's Teddy Bear!", and Rosalina isn't mentioned once. This has led many fans to fear that she was retconned out of existence after Elaina left. This was proven false with her return in "Doctor Jeffy", where she explained that she was stuck at a stop sign for over a year.
  • Running Gag: Her obsession with stars. This mostly vanished later in the series.
  • Satellite Character: Though she has her own personality and there are some things established about her, she only appeares in videos alongside Jeffy and Mario, not having any meaningful relationships outside of being Mario's girlfriend and Jeffy's surrogate mother. She is also one of the few major characters to not have a A Day in the Limelight episode where she is the protagonist.
  • Sexless Marriage: A Running Gag is Mario not getting to have sex with her. Even after they have been married for years, it is implied he still has not slept with her. When Jeffy asks in a video if Rosalina was pregnant when she and Mario had a surprise for him, Rosalina stated "No, not him", prompting Mario to give her a dirty look.
    • By the time of "Pregnant Jeffy!", they must have had sex at least once since Mario initially believed Rosalina to be pregnant when he found a positive pregnancy test.
    • Though according to "Jeffy the Sheep", she still does not give him blowjobs.
  • Smart Ball: In "Mario Sells Jeffy!", she is the first to realize that Drawing!Jeffy is not real Jeffy. Prior to this, nobody had ever been able to tell the difference. This includes her in previous episodes.
  • The Smurfette Principle: She's the only female main character.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: As Jeffy got worse, she began to act more insensitive and unsympathetic to Mario and make excuses for Jeffy's bad behavior. While it was somewhat reversed after "Jeffy's Parents!", she'll still put her own needs or Jeffy before Mario sometimes and assume the worst in him. "Jeffy's Christmas Gift!" implies that the only reason she stays with Mario is for Jeffy, and that she would leave him in an instant otherwise due to how selfish she has become.
  • Womanchild: She can be really immature at times and is immature compared to her video game counterpart, such as throwing a plate on the wall just because she didn't want pizza. She also tends to follow Jeffy's example, thinking it was okay to throw the plate just because Jeffy does the same.

    Jeffy
Voiced by: Lance Thirtyacre

Full Name: Jeffy Jeffy-François

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jeffy.png
A loud, unruly, and highly unintelligent kid who is Mario and Rosalina's adopted son.
  • Abusive Offspring: He regularly makes his adoptive father, Mario's life a living hell for no reason other than being a jackass.
  • Abusive Parents: Both Mario and Nancy seemed to have rubbed on him the wrong way, especially Nancy. In "Jeffy has kids" he forced Jeffy Junior to learn how to use the toilet, and he flushes him down. He also grounded him for destroying the dinner he made for his children.
  • Always a Bigger Fish: Junior is spoiled and ill-mannered, Shrek is unhygenic, Tony the Tiger is stupid, and Black Yoshi mooches off and sometimes humiliates Mario and ends up getting him on the news, but with perhaps the exception of Shrek and occasionally Black Yoshi, Jeffy manages to outdo all of them in their respective vices.
  • Animal Motifs: Rabbits. He likes carrots, has buckteeth and big ears, acts harebrained, and has a bunny suit. His favorite song, Hop Hop, also features a rabbit.
  • Anti-Role Model: He is a short-tempered Insufferable Imbecile who enjoys breaking dishes, swears almost perpetually, and has a pencil shoved up his nose. It goes without saying Jeffy is not a person worth imitating.
  • Art Initiates Life: Anything drawn with the pencil up his nose can come to life. Jeffy just needs to say "doodle doodle pencil fart" in order for it to work.
  • Ascended Extra: He had a brief Chuck Cunningham Syndrome following his debut, then re-appeared in "Bowser Junior's Game Night 3" and started to ascend to main character position, in fact even replacing the roles of Shrek and Black Yoshi. His popularity managed to surpass even Bower Junior.
  • Asshole Victim: Especially as of "Locked Out" and "Jeffy's Bad Word", the times where Jeffy finally is met with his downfall is often pleasurable to watch, given his brattiness and somewhat callous nature.
  • Ax-Crazy: To an extent, Jeffy shows signs of trying to kill Mario, who became his dad. He once tried to kill him with his couch and destroyed his TV.
  • Babysitter from Hell: In "The Baby Project!", he throws his child out the window, then throws it onto the road and gets it run over by a truck, electrocutes it, throws it at the wall when Junior gives it green beans, grinds it up in the garbage disposal, shoots it, and burns it alive on a barbecue just for crying. The last one even freaks out Junior. They actually end up winning his school assignment, and while Junior was guilty of putting Cody's baby doll in the microwave for the same reason in "Bowser Junior's Playtime 5", the implications are still there.
  • Bad People Abuse Animals: If "Jeffy's Pet" and "Jeffy's Dog" is any indication, not even animals are safe around Jeffy. Paired that with his behavior, and Jeffy is completely inept at being an owner.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Not getting his way.
    • Don't call him "bad", because he'll bang his head against the wall. This probably doubles as a Trauma Button given how horrible his real mother was to him.
    • He will fly into a rage at the mere sight of green beans.
    • Punishing him will result in a swearing rant.
    • Do not bully him at all. He will give you a mere ass beating.
    • Santa giving him coal for Christmas.
    • Shrinking his pencil will make him tell his father, Mario, on you.
    • If you know what's good for you, you will not destroy his cat piano.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: He's surprisingly dangerous for someone so ditzy and absent-minded. For example, whenever Bully Bill verbally taunts him (or even called him a retard), he responds with a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.
  • Big Ol' Unibrow: Sports this.
  • Big, Thin, Short Trio: The Big to Rosalina's Thin and Mario's Short.
  • Birthday Episode: He has one in "Jeffy's Birthday!", wherein he wants to spend his birthday at Disney World to meet Mickey Mouse. Because Mario can't afford to go to Disney World, he spends Jeffy's birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's, seeing as they also have a mouse for a mascot, hoping Jeffy won't know the difference. He really doesn't, being stupid enough to believe they're still going to Disney World.
  • Breakout Character: Jeffy was initially planned as a joke intended to be nothing more than one-off (maybe have a few subsequent episodes here and there). Even when he was promoted to being a main character, he mostly showed up in secondary roles or as a plot device while Mario and Junior were still the main focus. However, as time passed, Jeffy has exploded with popularity, and as of late, he is widely considered the most popular character in the series without question. Fast forward to 2019, he has his face plastered onto merchandise. In fact, SuperMarioLogan has been so closely associated with Jeffy, that some people have referred to the channel as "SuperJeffyLogan".
  • Catchphrase: Several
    • He's prone to asking "Why?" whenever Mario tells him to do or not to do something.
    • Whenever Mario asks him something, he usually responds with "I don't even know".
    • In later episodes, he often asks "Why you do that?" in a deadpan manner, belying his actual intellect.
    • Starting in "Where's Jeffy?" he would sometimes ask "What doing?".
    • "ARE YOU FUCKING HIGH?!"
    • As of "Jeffy Breaks His Leg", he says "I dinni't have to." whenever he's being sassy, which he would say in the later SML videos uploaded on the SuperBowserLogan channel.
    • Starting around midway of 2019, Jeffy would say "This is so Pee-pee” whenever something exciting or cool is happening.
  • Character Tic: Slapping his diaper while making weird faces and saying "UH!". In "Jeffy's Sister!", it is revealed that he and his sister, Feebee, talk to each other in morse code this way.
  • Characterization Marches On:
    • In his first few appearances, Jeffy was more of a normal mentally-challenged kid who simply annoyed Mario with no real bad intentions. Starting with "Jeffy's Bad Word!", he would become more aggressive and cruel, as many of the things he did were totally blamed on Mario unfairly, coming to a head when he locked Mario out. After this, Jeffy's character took a turn. He now seems to just be a ditz, but speaks coherently and intelligently, hardly says "Why?" anymore, and as of "Smart Jeffy", has become belligerent and foul-mouthed. His Karma Houdini tendencies also disappeared, as he has been disciplined in extreme yet satisfying ways, such as being locked in the bathroom alongside Junior with a clogged toilet, being made to face the wall for the rest of the 2016 Thanksgiving video because the fans wanted it, and even being beaten up by Mario after he cussed at him twice.
    • "Jeffy's Parents!" gave him serious development, as it revealed his mother is a chain-smoking prostitute who abuses Jeffy for being ugly and stupid, giving Jeffy a very good Freudian Excuse for his behavior. Although fans may have started finding that video meaningless as Jeffy hasn't changed at all despite promising to be good, since Jeffy's antics are one of the main reasons for his popularity.
    • As of 2020, Jeffy has displayed traits of a Genius Ditz and Took a Level in Kindness, readily helping Mario pay off his mortgage payments to Goodman, and coming up with genuinely-clever plans, such as when he and Junior stole a pair of underwear from Charleyyy, as well as solving a crime Mario was falsely accused of and getting him exonerated. He still displays moments of stupidity and selfishness, however.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Likely due to his stupidity, Jeffy has an history of exhibiting very bizarre, oddball behavior to the point it can be considered Chaotic Stupid as well.
  • Cluster F-Bomb: He tends to go on very loud, very eloquant swearing fits. He really started having these in late 2016, and in 2017, had a massive swearing fit in "Drawing Jeffy!", enough to make Blanc blush. These swearing fits were one of the main reasons the SuperMarioLogan channel suffered its demonetization crisis, and this gag has since been retired. Jeffy still swears, but he now doesn’t do it constantly.
  • Cousin Oliver: He serves as the correct, spotlight-hogging, negative role for a character like him. Ba-dum-ching.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: An imbecilic teenager who can be quite dangerous that is able to fight Bully Bill when being picked on, aggressively encouraged, tortured, or making fun of his appearance.
  • The Cuckoolander Was Right: More or less done with his math reasoning explained below. It is revealed that Goodman believes him, and even names it "Jeffy's Law of Subtraction". This causes Mario to shoot himself.
  • Cuckoosnarker: Even for how bizarre, oddball, over-the-top he can behave and how much of a loud-mouthed dingbat he can be, he's had his moments of showing snarkery and sarcasm (e.g Bully Bill when Tempting Fate).
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: He may be seem like an goofy and boisterous doofus at first (Not all that cute looking overall), but is very annoying, inane and obnoxious because of his loud-mouthed, repetitively dimwitted and unruly behavior and is boisterous to an excessive, childish degree.
  • Disability as an Excuse for Jerkassery: When Logan said he wasn't disabled and just stupid, several videos say otherwise like "Jeffy's Homework!" having an Goodman as the school's super attendant from special needs schooling telling Mario what he has to teach Jeffy and he was once revealed to be mentally disabled in "Jeffy's Stupid Home Video!" when Mario's video was playing and Brooklyn was commenting on the video with this fact, but is so insufferable with his stupidity and is annoyingly lucky to an excessive degree that his comeuppances and/or being extremely disciplined to actually redeem himself are more warranted than not.
  • Disproportionate Retribution:
    • In "Jeffy's Mistake!", he destroyed Black Yoshi's Xbox One by tossing it out a three-story window after dying in a game of Grand Theft Auto. Needless to say, Black Yoshi did not take it well.
    • In "Locked Out", he locks Mario outside the house, just because he refused to give him chocolate cake.
  • Disney Death: In "Jeffy's 18th Birthday!", after Nancy and Screwball kidnap Jeffy, Simmons accidentally blows up Screwball's van, leading everyone to believe that Jeffy perished in the explosion... but then it turns out he and Screwball jumped off the van just before it blew up.
  • Does Not Like Spam: "I! HATE! GREEN BEANS!"
    • While he isn't seen actively hating them on the same level that he hates green beans, "Jeffy Gets Help!" reveals that Jeffy has a tic-tac allergy, which gives Jeffy a lot of emotional side effects ranging from anger issues, suicidal depression, and hallucinations that make him see people as wild animals. So yeah, it's safe to assume that (by the end of the video) Jeffy doesn't like them either.
    • Rosalina once suggested Mario feed Jeffy something other than green beans, but Mario flat-out refused. In fact, Mario seems hellbent on Jeffy eating them for no reason other than vaguely saying "they're good for him". Whether or not it's because Mario read that green beans are considered a superfood is not known, though "Bowser Junior's 21st Birthday!" reveals that Mario actually has a crippling addiction to doing so, and hates it. While this can be chocked up to Mario just wanting him to eat healthy, it gets pretty questionable when canned green beans are the only thing that Mario ever feeds him. Brooklyn Guy points this out in “Jeffy’s Foster Home”, but Mario simply rebuts that vegans feed nothing but vegetables (despite the fact that he never feeds Jeffy other kinds of vegetables). This has gotten to the point where Mario will hide green beans in his sandwich, use them as pizza toppings, or even blends them into a milkshake.
  • Dreadful Musician: Good god. Jeffy is so atrocious at playing his cat piano that Marvin had to sign him up for piano lessons. He was good at the piano for that episode, but after that, he was back to his old self.
  • The Ditz: He can't comprehend the simplest of things and uses Insane Troll Logic like how 2+2=Baby 2.
  • The Dog Bites Back: In "Jeffy's 18th Birthday!", while being kidnapped by Nancy in a desperate bid to claim his inheritance, he not only tackles her to the floor of the van but also grabs her gun and shoots her dead.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: Despite his stupidity, even Jeffy can make some valid points:
    • He has a point in "Jeffy's Parents!" about his mother being mean and abusive, along with having a flashback on how his mom abandoned him by dropping him off at Mario's apartment.
    • In "Jeffy's Commercial!", Mario wants him to star in a green bean commercial to make money (after Jeffy gave him the money needed to pay off his house payment) since they're broke. Jeffy reminds him that he doesn't like green beans, which isn't a good asset for someone starring in a green bean commercial, though he does reluctantly go along with the idea anyway.
  • Dumbass Teenage Son: He's currently 19 years old and is VERY dimwitted.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Jeffy has eaten stablers, hamsters, insects, and so on.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Despite being accountable for some of Mario's deaths, he was clearly horrified when he saw all the dead bodies in the secret room.
    • In "Jeffy's Sister Returns!", it's shown in the flashback that he was genuinely concerned for Feebee's safety after Nancy demanded her helmet and was distressed when she died.
    • In "The Hair Problem!", he's visibly disgusted by Mario's cringey attempts to act hip.
  • Fish Eyes: To some extent. His left eye always looks upward and his right eye always looks to the right.
  • Four-Fingered Hands: Constantly lampshades that he has them. Apparently, he's missing the middle finger.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Aside from Rose and Junior, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who can tolerate him at best. Even then, Rose and Junior themselves have their limits.
  • Freudian Excuse: "Jeffy's Parents!" reveals that Jeffy's mother is extremely abusive, which is a rather good explanation for why Jeffy tortures Mario so much. It's all he knows.
  • Fun Personified: Whenever he isn't being obnoxious towards Mario or others.
  • Gasshole: Is prone to letting out huge farts whenever he craps his pants, such as in "Jeffy Sleepwalks!".
  • Genius Ditz: While an utter dunce, he can show some intelligence/common sense out of his sheer idiocy and was shown to be skilled and aware of his surroundings and can be not as dumb as he makes him out to be.
  • Goofy Buckteeth: Unlike the other puppets, he has a pair of teeth and is a moronic oddball to match.
  • Gonk: For the most part, he looks just as deformed as much he is stupid.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: As of "Jeffy Loses His Teeth!", he is set off rather easily, and whenever he gets angry he goes into a swearing tantrum.
  • Hates Baths: If "Jeffy's Bathtime!" is anything to go by.
  • Heroic BSoD: Losing his pencil is enough to throw him into one.
  • Hidden Depths: He's a blithering idiot, but also a talented artist. Though when you consider who his father is, it's not hard to see why.
    • While Jeffy always had his musical side, he's pretty bad at his cat piano. However "Jeffy The Rapper 2" shows that he is a surprisingly good saxophone player.
  • Hiccup Hijinks: Gets the hiccups in one episode.
  • Historical In-Joke: In "Jeffy Goes To The Zoo!", his titular trip to the zoo leads to him indirectly causing the killing of Harambe.
  • Hypocrite: He punishes Jeffy Jr. for pretty much the exact same reasons that Mario punishes him for (even spanking his son... "Jeffy's Bad Word!" flashbacks, maybe). So he's not one to talk about bad behaviour.
  • Idiot Houdini / Karma Houdini: No matter how much he makes Mario miserable, he never seems to learn anything from it or have anything bad happen to him. In fact, he always gets away with it while Mario is left with very complete Laser-Guided Karma despite not doing anything, and most mistakes he does change the world in a way that Mario is Wrongly Accused for the same thing Jeffy did, including "Jeffy's Bad Word!", "Jeffy Goes To The Zoo!", and "Locked Out".
  • Idiot Savant: He had a difficult time fitting a star block into a square hole, talks like he has a speech problem, acts like he can't control a lot of what he does, shoves pencils in his nose and also attempted shoving an bigger pencil as a gift from Mario up his arse in "Jeffy's Birthday!" when Played for Laughs, wears the same helmet and clothes for no reason when he was shown to take his clothes off in "Jeffy's Bathtime", craps himself all the time, and has an oddball, trademark habit with smacking his crotch while making weird faces. Yet was able to paint the Mona Lisa on an Easter egg, and make almost uncannily accurate chicken noises. He even said his ABC's backwards in a video that was Played for Laughs. And in "Pokémon Part 6", he somehow caught Cookie Monster in a Pokéball and taught it Thunderbolt.
  • Implausible Deniability: Jeffy completely denies that he's the culprit on purpose when it comes to his mistakes.
    • In "Jeffy Sleepwalks!", not only he blames his kitchen mess on Mario, but he also denies doing the mess in the living room, despite Mario having evidence of Jeffy making the mess via security cameras.
    • Whenever he throws something as a Running Gag, Jeffy almost always says it "slipped", despite Mario believing that he did it on purpose.
      • Exaggerated in the latter when he throws Mario's ring and it lands in Shrek's homemade cheesecake.
  • Insane Troll Logic: When it comes to math, Jeffy thinks 2 + 2 = 2 because it makes a baby 2, 8 - 4 = 8 because the four is taken away, and 0 + 0 = 2 because there are two zeroes who don't love each other. It even causes him to go into a swearing fit and suddenly become more eloquent and curse his diaper, helmet, and pencil, as well as several scientists while claiming that his answers are right. And by the end of the video, Goodman reveals that he believes in his subtraction reasoning, and it is even named "Jeffy's Law of Subtraction", leading the whole world into believing Jeffy as well.
    • Not only that, but in "The Test!", he believes alongside Junior that when dividing numbers, they have to see how many times one number physically fits inside the other, thus 9 ÷ 3 = 0 and 10 ÷ 2 = 1. He also thinks that 3 x 3 = 3,333.
  • Insufferable Imbecile: In addition to his idiocy, Jeffy is just as much selfish, rude, obnoxious, rowdy, chaotic and antagonistic.
  • Interspecies Romance: Not really a "species" per say, but Jeffy made love to and had kids with...A Cherrio box of all things in "Jeffy's Kids!"
  • Irony: He hates Nancy for hitting him and only bringing him back for his father's fortune, yet Mario hits him just as much (though, in his case, it's usually justified) and adopted him for the same reason. Though, to be fair, Mario does care about Jeffy to an extent and wasn't aware about the fortune until Brooklyn T. Guy brought it up.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Downplayed. While there are moments showing Jeffy is capable of some degree of empathy, like in "Jeffy's Bike!" when he gave Hansel his bike out of sympathy, they're by and large hard to come by. Very rarely is he shown to feel remorse for his actions, and even when he does admit to being a jerk, like in "Bad Jeffy!" and "Jeffy's Gamer Girl Problem!", it's made clear that it's less out of any sincere regret and more so out of obligation.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Several videos have ended with him promising to start behaving, absolutely none of which have stuck. If anything, he only gets worse as time goes on.
  • Karmic Butt-Monkey: In the later videos, it became much more common for him to suffer some form of deserved Humiliation Conga at the end. Lampshaded in "Jeffy's Ball Pit!".
Jeffy: This is deserved. I am a shit-head.
  • Kiddie Kid: He is a teenager, yet plays with children's toys and acts like an unruly five-year-old. Not to mention, he still wears diapers. He is made fun of because of this by Bully Bill, even for how Jeffy retaliates towards him.
  • Kids Are Cruel: Even at a young age, Jeffy will subject you to insufferable antics. Just ask Mario.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: On some very rare occasions shows when his stupidity can be actually well-intentioned or pretty comical rather than him being an spoiled brat who's insufferably moronic and he can be rather an Cloudcuckoolander-like simpleton of an teen. For example, breaking a camera because he thought Mario was trapped in it or deciding to share his Pokemon card with Junior by cutting it in half. He also listens to Santa Claus when he told him to go to bed even when Jeffy's fun-loving Cloud Cuckoo Lander tendencies ensue.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Following the negative reception of "Locked Out", Jeffy has gotten his comeuppance in multiple ways:
    • In "Turkey Tyranny!", he was made to face the wall for the rest of the video after he threw his plate at the camera, with Mario downright stating it's "what the fans want".
    • In "Shrek The Babysitter!", he and Junior eat his cheesecake. Shrek returns the favor by locking them in the bathroom. With a clogged toilet.
    • In "Jeffy Loses His Teeth!", he gets just as much, if not more, abuse than Mario, this is until the end of the video subverts this.
    • In "First Day Of School!", Jeffy cusses out Jackie Chu and flips his own desk for giving the class homework on the first day, and then cusses out Mario, who responds by beating him. It was loooooong overdue.
    • In "Happy Merry Christmas!", he gets locked in the closet for the entirety of the video after opening all the Christmas presents and pulling the "Locked Out" gambit on Santa.
    • In "The Love Potion!", he gets mauled by Britknee, after she turns into a dragon.
    • In "Jeffy's Tantrum!", Mario sells Jeffy's iPad to replace the couch that Jeffy previously destroyed, all because Mario refused to let Jeffy use his credit card to buy a game.
    • In "The Golden Egg!", he gets beaten up by Mario, Junior, Brooklyn T. Guy, Chef Pee Pee and others for wishing for the golden egg, after already finding it.
    • Karma really hits him hard in "Jeffy And The Beanstalk!". A huge beanstalk grows out of the ground as a result of Jeffy dumping out his plate of green beans in the backyard. He climbs it, meets the green bean giant, and downright exclaims his hatred of green beans right in his face. This prompts the giant to turn him into a talking green bean. Eventually, Jeffy comes clean to Mario and Rosalina. Finally he is forced to eat a whole heap of green beans, to his dismay, and then promises to eat them from then on out, though this has been rendered a Subverted Trope as several videos since then still show him refusing to do so.
    • Then it hits him even harder in "Jeffy's Foster Home!". After Mario whacks him on the hand for touching his confiscated items (which he was bugging Mario with), Jeffy tries to emulate what he did in the infamous "Jeffy's Bad Word!" and call the police to frame Mario for child abuse. Officer Brooklyn T. Guy, in one of his rare competent moments, can immediately tell he's lying and pulls a Scare 'Em Straight on Jeffy by taking him to his Ax-Crazy cousin's home under the guise of "foster care". Sure enough, Jeffy is reduced to begging for Mario to take him back after a traumatic experience with Makes Bad Decisions Guy and his equally insane roomate Tim.
    • Karma hits him again in "Jeffy's Punishment!", where Mario uses a shock collar on him so he can stop his chaotic behavior (even when Mario tried to frame him at times), and such to the point that Mario gets tortured at the end.
  • Literal-Minded: In "Jeffy's Stupid Home Video!", after Mario loses the America's Stupidest Home Videos contest to a video of a baby playing with a vacuum cleaner, he tells Jeffy he lost 100,000 G's. Feeling bad for Mario, Jeffy gives him pieces of paper with letter G's printed all over them.
    • To put it simple, he brings a hot dog to a dog contest in "The Dog Show!".
    • In "First Day of School!", when he reads the second instruction, "Write your name on your desk", he writes it all over his desk instead of on his name tag. As a result, there are now permanent writings of Jeffy's name in black marker all over his own desk.
    • In "The Stain!", Mario orders him to pour out his cup of diarrhea. He does... right on Brooklyn Guy's jersey.
  • Manchild: As of "Jeffy's 18th Birthday" he's now officially an adult, yet still behaves as he did when he first debuted.
  • Mike Nelson, Destroyer of Worlds: In "President Jeffy", he enacts a nuclear warhead to destroy all the green bean farms and schools in America after winning the election.
  • Never Bareheaded: He's only been seen without his helmet at least three times. And each time, his hairstyle was different.
  • Never My Fault: Don't expect Jeffy to claim responsibility for his wrongdoings no matter how blatant they may be. He's a dumbass after all.
    • In "Jeffy's Bedtime!", he blames his pooping his pants on the (nonexistent) monster who lives under his bed.
    • In "Jeffy Sleepwalks!", he blames his sleepwalking and making a mess in the kitchen on Mario.
  • Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: He has a few moments.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The Mean to Rosalina's Nice and Mario's In-between. He throws temper tantrums and generally annoys Mario.
  • No Indoor Voice: He is this and never shuts up when Mario tells him to, even for some exceptions.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Compared to the other puppets (both old and new), Jeffy has an uncanny design that leans towards the Gonk spectrum. In relative to the Human Puppets, his design appear noticeably less cartoony.
  • Nose Shove: He has a pencil shoved up his nose. The reason why he shoved it in there is because he thought that's what his nostrils were for. In "Smart Jeffy", the pencil gets lodged in his brain thanks to Junior, suddenly making him smart.
  • Not Me This Time: In "Drawing Jeffy!", Mario blames Jeffy for the antics caused by the titular character, as he and Rosalina can't tell them apart.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Implied in "Jeffy's Homework!" and a few of the examples above, he insults the system of math and actually names off scientists while doing so, and when told by Mario to use phonics properly when he was saying "fwog", he stated that Mario knew what he was saying and to bring him the next card. He also called the tall guy in Green Eggs and Ham a liar, because he had only eaten the green eggs, but not the ham.
    • "Jeffy's Cellphone!" heavily implies he's actually pretty smart, and is acting stupid to make Mario miserable.
  • Older Than They Look: Despite looking like a young child, Jeffy is actually a young adult, being 19 years old as of August 2023.
  • Parental Abandonment: His real parents left him for Mario to take care of, with a note saying for Mario to "babysit him", and have yet to return for him. Mario, who has become a Parental Substitute, also tried to do this to him twice, and failed.
  • Pet the Dog: There are a few moments that show he can actually do a good thing for someone else.
    • There's a few occasions where he'll willingly do what Mario tells him.
    • In "The Golden Egg!", he wishes to find the Golden Egg to give to Mario. Granted, he already found it and ended up wasting the wish, but it's worth noting he actually thought of Mario and genuinely wanted to give him the egg.
    • In "Jeffy Sneaks Out!", he stopped Drawing Jeffy from playing with a gun.
    • In "Jeffy's Birthday Wish!", he wanted to use a birthday wish which stops everyone dying from the solar eclipse. Though Brooklyn ended up using the wish instead.
    • He also gave Hansel, a homeless man, his bike in Jeffy's Bike!" after feeling genuine pity for the man, whereas Mario kept insulting the guy.
    • In "The Diamond!", he helped Mario stop The Robber.
    • In "Jeffy's Bad Christmas", he saved Santa Claus from choking to death.
    • In "Jeffy Gets Chicken Pox"!, it's revealed in the end that he gave his shirt to a chicken when he was outdoors so it wouldn't get cold. This caused Mario to think Jeffy turned into a chicken.
    • In "Jeffy's Commercial", he loans Mario all the money he has to pay Goodman when he comes for the usual house payment.
  • Politically Incorrect Hero: He sometimes makes backhanded comments towards transgender people.
    • The Human Potion! has him going "It's 2018, I identify as a turtle." In response to Jackie Chu kicking Junior, Joseph, and Cody out of his class for being turtles.
  • Potty Failure: He tends to soil his pants all the time, hence why he has to wear a diaper. However, because his diaper is taped over his pants, it stays clean while his pants get dirty. "Jeffy Gets Potty Trained!" focuses on Mario and Rosalina's unsuccessful attempts to potty-train him to prevent future accidents.
  • Playing the Victim Card: Jeffy would play this card whenever he tricks Mario or basically the entire world.
  • Prone to Tears: He is notorious for weeping at the smallest inconvience. This habit has gone on to be among his most infamous Character Tics.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: He is now legally an adult but still retains many of his flaws when he was a teenager
  • Rage Breaking Point: In "Jeffy's Santa Freak Out", he got really upset and begins breaking everything in the kitchen when Marvin said that "SANTA CLAUS ISN'T REAL!".
Jeffy: [to a Santa Claus figure] FUCK YOU, SANTA! YOU LYING BITCH! [...] What's the point of being good all year if Santa Claus isn't real?! [...] I TRIED REAL HARD!!!!
  • Reality Warper: Jeffy has defied the laws of physics and logic several times. In one case, Mario tries to trick him by sending him to find a golden egg he throws off a bridge, only for Jeffy to have already found the egg without having left the house. And in "Pokémon Part 6", one of his Pokémon is a Cookie Monster that knows Thunderbolt. And how else do you explain him being able to impregnate a Cheerios box (leading to the births of two miniature Cheerios boxes and one Half-Human Hybrid) in "Jeffy Has Kids!"?
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He's the Red to Rosalina and Mario's Blue (mainly Mario's blue).
  • Repetitive Name: "Mario the Babysitter!" reveals that his full name is "Jeffy Jeffy".
  • Running Gag:
    • The most common running gag is him swearing and going into a tantrum.
    • Mario calling him a bad boy, only for Jeffy to cry and repeatedly hit an object nearby, forcing him to call Jeffy a good boy instead.
    • Being moronic and excessively boisterous.
    • Jeffy pooping his pants.
    • Jeffy throwing something away and saying that it "slipped".
    • Jeffy throwing the plate of green beans.
  • Sanity Ball: He's sometimes shown to have a sane side in a couple videos, especially when he swears.
  • Series Mascot: The most recognizable face of SuperMarioLogan, for better or worse.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: Infamously in "The Secret Door!", when Does Bad Things Guy knocked him, Mario and Rosalina out, he was unconscious the whole time. He didn't wake up until after the real Brooklyn T. Guy rescued them.
  • Simpleton Voice: Has a deep but shrill, childish, and lispy voice to portray how idiotic he is. He can sometimes change his voice for comedic purposes.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Since "Smart Jeffy", it has become a recurring thing for Jeffy to shout multiple swear words per sentence almost every time he gets pissed, and even Junior cannot stand up to his position in terms of swearing. Although as of the 2017 YouTube Adpocalypse, his swearing traits have been diminished completely. Justified since his mother was also a pottymouth.
  • Sleepwalking: In "Jeffy Sleepwalks!", he sleepwalks twice, making a mess each time. Subverted, as he admits that he had been trying to see what he can do with his eyes closed.
  • Small Parent, Huge Child: Before the cease-and-desist letter from Nintendo, Mario was portrayed with a Mario plush and Jeffy was portrayed with a puppet, which naturally made Jeffy towering over his own dad. Even after Mario was turned into a puppet, the Marvin puppet is 5'1 and Jeffy is 22 inches tall, so Jeffy is still larger than his dad.
  • Smart Ball: He has his moments of pulling off some high IQ moves, which can even feel Mario. "Locked Out" shows you that he can actually succeed in locking Mario out with intention over just a chocolate cake.
  • Spoiled Brat: Even more so than Junior. Jeffy always refuses to do and/or eat anything Mario tells him to, and Mario and Rosalina often cave into his demands. One example might be "Locked Out", in where Jeffy demanded and cried for chocolate cake, and locked Mario out of the house so he could hog Mario's chocolate cake.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: According to Logan, Jeffy was a replacement for Tony the Tiger since Lance could no longer do the voice.
  • The Sociopath: He has a good amount of traits of a sociopath such as constantly lying, an inability to take responsibility for his actions, and having temper tantrums every time he does not get his way.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: With many other SML characters, he has died multiple times, only to return without explanation in the next episode.
    • In "Jeffy's Mistake!", Black Yoshi kills him after getting his Xbox One destroyed, but it turns out that it was All Just a Dream.
    • In "Jeffy's Taco Tuesday!", after realizing that his "tacos" were actually bombs, he angrily throws one, causing it to explode and kill him.
  • Theme Tune: Has an theme song called "Doh De Oh" by Kevin MacLeod and this is played whenever Jeffy's sheer idiocy/retardation ensues before the music changes or not, usually done for comic effect or not.
  • Too Dumb to Live: There were many examples of how he was easily prone to this.
    • He willingly played Russian Roulette once.
    • It's also safe to say that he was stupid enough to throw taco bombs on the couch, unwittingly killing himself, Mario and Cody.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Not that he was a saint to begin with, but as the series progressed, Jeffy began to act more spoiled and disrespectful to Mario. He started cursing towards Mario and Rosalina more and has even deliberately broken some of their things out of spite.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: As of late 2019/early 2020, he became a slightly better person, being more helpful to Mario and becoming quite smart aside from his usual brand of stupidity.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Jeffy says that he does like carrots in "Jeffy The Rapper!", though whether this is true or just a lyric in his song is up to debate.
  • Trauma Conga Line: He suffers from this in "Jeffy's Parents!", where he gets verbally and especially physically abused by his mom and because of that, he was traumatized and tortured due to his mom constantly beating him up. What makes it even sadder is that he begs Mario to let him stay with him, and Mario locked Jeffy out as payback.
  • Tritagonist: Often plays an important role in the episodes focusing on Mario and Junior (who are the main protagonists).
  • Troll: Much of his time is devoted to annoying Mario or otherwise inconveniencing others.
  • Vague Age: Even Jeffy himself doesn't know how old he is. In "Jeffy's Birthday!", the only evidence of his birthday was a half-torn piece of paper in his pants pocket, which had the date of his birthday written on it, but not the year he was born. "Jeffy's Parents!" eventually revealed his age as 12.
  • Verbal Tic: The loud grunting noise he makes, like when he's smacking his diaper or interrupting what Mario says.
  • Villain Protagonist: He has usually always been a character of this trait, even right now. While he did get his cat piano back thanks to Junior and was saved by Mario from getting taken back by Nancy, he also got Mario accused of child abuse, rape, and vehicular assault and got him humiliated on a global scale, and he also locked Mario out twice.
  • Who Would Be Stupid Enough?: Does this more often than not due to how Too Dumb to Live he is.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: In "Jeffy Gets Potty Trained!", he's afraid of the loud flushing noise that the toilet makes, hence why Mario and Rosalina tried to train him through a training toilet toy and bathroom books to make him get over his fear. In "Jeffy's Biggest Fear", he is afraid of the number 7 because of the "7 8 9" joke which makes him think 7 wants to eat him.
  • Would Hit a Girl: "Jeffy's 18th Birthday!" has Jeffy put up a darn good fight with Nancy right before he flat out kills her.

Real Name: Bowser Bernard, Seniornote

Bowser Junior's father, and Chef Pee Pee's boss. He witlessly treats his chef like dirt, and even beats up his own son just for the better. He also constantly watches Charleyyy and Friends, and claims to be the show's "number 1 fan".

  • Abusive Dad: He isn't above beating his own son with a belt, as well as his own bare hands. The most horrifying part is that he thinks this qualifies as good parenting. Taken as far back as when Junior was a baby during a flashback scene in "Bowser Junior's Biggest Fear!", wherein he shoved cotton balls in Junior's mouth because Junior wouldn't stop sucking on his pacifier.
  • Adaptational Dumbass: Bowser in the games typically tries to kidnap Princess Peach and battle Mario when he tries to rescue her. He often interacts with his crew, or his son Bowser Jr when he's in his castle. In SML, however, he is always watching Charleyyy and Friends instead of plotting evil schemes, or just doing random stupid things.
  • Ambiguously Bi: He enjoyed watching Candy shake her butt in front of him in "The Button!", and wanted to have a female partner in "Bowser's Mistake". At the same time, he ended up having sex with Cody in "SuperPowers" and "1 2 Switch Bodies!", and went to a gay strip club for entertainment in "Shrek The Babysitter!".
  • Bad Boss: Treats his own personal chef like a slave, to the point of creating his own messes just to keep him from going on a break.
  • Berserk Button: Don't ever interrupt him when he's watching Charleyyy and Friends.
  • Big Bad: Of Mario and Luigi's Stupid and Dumb Adventures, in Season 1 and part of Season 2. He returned at the end of Season 2 as a Greater-Scope Villain with Black Magic powers. Since his Villain Decay, however (which is obviously thanks to Charleyyy), he has mostly been just an annoying nuisance and Jerkass.
    • One can make a case for him still being this for most Bowser Junior episodes however, as he still antagonizes and beats Junior in most of them and is often at the start of a conflict. He even sent Junior to military school just because the latter broke a table, rather than punishing him like most other cases.
  • Big, Thin, Short Trio: The Big to Chef Pee Pee's Thin and Junior's Short.
  • Black Magic: At the end of Season 2 of Mario and Luigi's Stupid and Dumb Adventures, he can revive the dead and use other sorts of magic; it hasn't shown up since though.
  • Characterization Marches On: His earliest appearances depicted him as a villainous Big Bad and Mario's Arch-Enemy. He then became a plain Jerkass who abused Chef Pee Pee and Junior. Later episodes soften him up, where he's noticeably less hostile towards them and even becomes a Papa Wolf on occasion.
  • Decoy Protagonist: When the focus began shifting more on Bowser's family, Bowser seemed to be the era's primary focus. However, shortly after Junior was properly introduced, he was obscured as a Manchild who watched Charleyyy and Friends all day.
  • Demoted to Extra: He was once one of the main characters, but afterwards he was quickly reduced to a Charleyyy filler character, and he only had two episodes to himself: "Bowser's Goldfish!" back in 2016, and "Zombie Bowser!" in 2018.
  • Depraved Bisexual: He is a domestic child abuser, who got multiple divorces with women, although he had sex with a male pet chomp, Chef Pee Pee and even his Charleyyy doll. Oh, and he made out with Joseph's mom's skeleton.
  • Disproportionate Retribution:
    • Usually this, as he threatens Chef Pee Pee with death if he doesn't make him his food, beats up Junior whenever he does something wrong, and even sends him to military school just for breaking a glass table.
    • In "Bowser Junior's Big Spill!", he rams into Chef Pee Pee twice, complete with a football player outfit, the first because he mistook Pee Pee for spilling a drink on the couch, and the second time after he sees him making a mess on his room and putting the blame on Junior. Bowser also does this to Junior, after he finds out the latter was the one who ruined his couch.
  • Don't Make Me Take My Belt Off!: In earlier videos, he would punish Junior by whipping him with his belt. After the YouTube Adpocalypse, he was no longer allowed to do this, so in "Cody's Report Card!", when Junior shows him his report card, which has Ds and Fs on it, Bowser instead whips his pillow. He then says it doesn't feel right, so he has Junior scream while he does it.
  • Driven to Suicide:
    • After Charleyyy and Friends gets cancelled, Bowser goes into depression and tries to commit suicide by hanging himself in the bathroom, though his suicide attempt was stopped by Chef Pee Pee, who saved his life and gave him CPR.
    • He did however commit suicide in "The Sticky Situation!". After Junior glued the door of his room shut, he pranked him saying that Charleyyy was in their house and later told him that he left, thus Bowser killed himself (off-screen) when he assumed he missed his chance to meet Charleyyy.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: In "The New House!", Bowser felt that Mario throwing Jeffy off the bed was "a little too much". However, considering how he treats his own son, this is more like Hypocritical Humor.
  • Fanboy: Is obsessed with Charleyyy and Friends, to the point of becoming Driven to Suicide after the show gets cancelled once.
  • Fat Bastard: Bowser is not exactly slim or the kindest person around.
  • Fiery Redhead: Bowser seriously needs anger management. He can become enraged by the smallest infractions.
  • Forgot Flanders Could Do That: In "The Fishing Trip!", when Junior is being attacked by a shark and fails to escape after punching a shark once, he jumps into the water and starts beating the shark, and he WINS.
  • Heroic BSoD: Suffers a total breakdown the moment Charleyyy and Friends gets cancelled that he ends up making a mess in his room.
    • Suffers a mental breakdown when his son ends up beating the Charleyyy and Friends video game in just 10 minutes, after losing in the game early on.
    • In "Bowser Junior's Easter Egg Hunt", Bowser breaks down sobbing over losing his title as the Easter Egg Hunting Champion.
  • Hypochondria: Mistakes himself for having a disease after watching Charleyyy getting the same disease. This occasionally creates a major plot twist.
  • Idiot Ball / Laser-Guided Amnesia: Bowser hogs the ball to himself in the third episode of "Mario and Bowser's Stupid and Crazy Adventure" when he tries to tell Mario that he broke Chef Pee Pee's spine, when in reality, it was him who had done this already. Bowser's "amnesia" makes Mario very angry as he threatens to choke him.
  • Jerkass: He can usually be this in the earlier videos.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Though later videos have shown him be more caring towards Junior and Chef Pee Pee.
  • Large Ham: Especially in his Bowser Juice commercial.
  • Lazy Bum: He does nothing but lay in bed and watch TV all day.
  • Literal-Minded: In "Bowser Junior's Nintendo 3DS", Junior explains to him what a 3DS is, and refers to it as a handheld. Bowser takes it a bit too seriously and ends up giving him multiple old-school Nintendo handhelds, preferably Game Boy line consoles and models. Even though Junior pretends in front of his friends that these are made-up Nintendo 3DS models, they make fun of him that way due to the hardware limitations of these consoles.
  • Manchild: His whole character now is reduced to a neglectful father who loves watching Charleyyy and Friends. Even the slightest mention of his favorite show getting canceled will put Bowser on the brink of tears.
  • Necromancer: In the Mario and Luigi's Stupid and Dumb Adventures season 2 finale, he has Black Magic and can revive the dead. This trope isn't used after that however.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The Mean to Junior's Nice and Chef Pee Pee's In-between. He yells at Chef Pee Pee non-stop, creates additional chores for him, beats Junior up, and is a trademark Jerkass.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: He makes racist remarks about Jackie Chu in "Bowser's Driver's License!" and usually calls others gay as an insult. Although considering the fact he had sex with Cody who shapeshifted into Chef Pee Pee in "SuperPowers", this could come off as Hypocritical Humor.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: He never works and he generally acts like a spoiled lazy teenager.
  • Really 700 Years Old: He's apparently revealed to be 312.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He and Junior are the Red to Chef Pee Pee's Blue.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In "The New House!", he immediately calls dibs on the red bedroom in the new house, the very second he finds out the room has a TV. He orders everyone to get out so he can watch Charleyyy, and even knocks out Mario while doing so.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: It didn't last long, but at the end of the first season of Mario and Luigi's Stupid and Dumb Adventures, he was trapped in a grill, only to be freed by a Goomba at the start of the next season.
  • The Sociopath: Often beats his son for the pettiest offenses, treats Chef Pee Pee with disrespect without questioning his own actions, and would commit murder upon eavesdropping on him being insulted.
  • Tap on the Head: He is knocked out by Junior with a hammer in "Bowser Junior's Package!" prior to getting tied up, being accused of stealing Junior's package and therefore getting killed.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: With many other SML characters, he has died multiple times, only to return without explanation in the next episode:
    • In "How To Save Princess Peach, The Black Yoshi Way?", Black Yoshi shoots him while saving Princess Peach.
    • In "Bowser's Thanksgiving", he and Junior are caught in an oven explosion and likely died.
    • In "The Sticky Situation", Junior pranks him by telling him that Charleyyy is in their house after he glues the door of his room. When Junior tells him that Charleyyy left, Bowser commits suicide.
    • In "Evil Chef Pee Pee!", he gets decapitated by Chef Pee Pee, after learning that Chef Pee Pee poisoned Junior's food and is too stupid to realize that Chef Pee Pee's being evil.
    • In "Bowser Junior's Package!", Junior kills him with a butcher knife because of believing he stole the package Junior ordered the day before.
    • In "Jeffy's Flu Shot!", he may have died from the flu.
    • In "The Magical Button!", he dies after Junior uses the titular button to wish for a can of Sprite.
    • In "The Monster Mash!", he's killed by Freddy Kruger while sleeping.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He's about as stupid as his son, if not more. In fact, in "Evil Chef Pee Pee!" he didn't realize that Chef Pee Pee was being evil.
  • Too Kinky to Torture: In "Hide And Seek!", he catches Chef Pee Pee spitting in his food... and gets mad at him for not peeing in it instead.
  • Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist : He regularly beats his son and is generally rude to Chef Pee Pee, barely even paying him.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: He originally wore a tanktop after he turned into a human puppet, but lately he's been seen without a shirt on whenever he appears.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: While Bowser Junior's favorite show is made up of suicide attempts, Bowser himself is obsessed with his childish television series "Charleyyy and Friends"
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: During the Bowser's Biggest Fear trilogy, he develops a fear of bananas, and later milk. The former is later referenced in Mario and Bowser's Stupid and Crazy Adventures, wherein Mario asks him to get a banana to hatch a Blue Yoshi (which Bowser ends up killing).

Real Name: Bowser Bernard, Junior

Bowser's bratty and dimwitted son, who continuously annoys Chef Pee Pee and demands for stuff. He owns a Thomas & Friends toy, of which he treats like a Companion Cube, but he also hangs out with his two friends Joseph and Cody.

  • Ace Pilot: In "Bowser Junior Goes To The Fair!", he can pilot a helicopter easily. He even stated that he wanted to be a helicopter in "Bowser Junior's First Grade! Part 4". In "The Christmas Special!", he got a Lego Space Shuttle so that he can pilot it and go to the Sun. He even said that he can build it to go to the Sun to make Cody mad and prove to him that the Sun is a planet. He starts turning into one in "Bowser Junior's Clown Car!" and returns into one in "Bowser Junior Goes To Military School! Part 2". He even fully blossoms into one in "Bowser Junior Goes To The Sun!".
  • Adaptational Dumbass: The Junior from the games is capable of piloting mechs and commanding entire fleets. This Junior doesn't even know the difference between "die" and "dye", even when it's spelled out for him in the most blatant way imaginable.
  • Ascended Extra: Once appeared in a Mario and Luigi's Stupid and Dumb Adventures episode. Returned in the Bowser Juice commercial. Appeared in "Bowser Junior's Macaroni" and is now a main character, to the point of taking over Mario's position.
  • Ax-Crazy: He starts acting rabid after he gets rabies once, but at least he got cured by the end. He however bit Chef Pee Pee in the arm, causing him to become rabid as well.
    • Even outside of rabies, Junior isn't exactly the most mentally stable child. In "The Purge" and "Home Alone" series of videos, Junior has been known to brutally murder people without a second thought.
  • Berserk Button:
    • If you play trains with him, don't ever play with Thomas, even if he has more than one. He will make you play with another train, most commonly The Ugly Red Onenote .
    • Don't ever say anything positive about Big Hero 6 around him either.
    • Never, EVER steal his stuff. He beat up Joseph, nearly killed Chef Pee Pee and killed his dad when he accused them of stealing his package.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: He's currently 14 years old, and is very misbehaved.
  • Breakout Character: Was simply Bowser's child without much development beyond annoying Chef Pee Pee. He eventually took the centric spotlight, with the other main characters (even Mario himself) being pushed to side characters.
  • Big Bad: He actually had this role in "Mario and Bowser's Stupid and Crazy Adventure" for a short time, if only because he kidnapped Peach the first time.
  • Big, Thin, Short Trio: The Short to Bowser's Big and Chef Pee Pee's Thin.
  • Break the Cutie:
    • When Junior got taken into military school.
    • In "Bowser Junior's Bad News!", he cries that Toys "R" Us went out of business.
  • Bullying a Dragon:
    • "The Call of Duty Problem!": Wow, Junior. You have the balls to make fun of Black Yoshi and rub his loss in his face? The same guy who nuked Toad for playing his Call of Duty and has a knack for inflicting Disproportionate Retribution, as well as pointing a gun at you? He's lucky Black Yoshi didn't shoot him on the spot.
    • "Bowser Junior's Doll!": Bowser has just caught Junior making a mess in the kitchen after learning this from Chef Pee Pee. Junior's reaction is to bean him with a water balloon before fleeing. Bowser promptly stops him in tracks and punishes him accordingly.
  • Butt-Monkey: Is often subjected to abuse or failing miserably at getting something he wants. Bowser Junior also has the highest number of deaths out of all the characters, clocking in at least 38 deaths.
  • Characterization Marches On: Started out as a Spoiled Brat without much development aside from annoying his friends, Bowser, and Chef Pee Pee. He's become progressively less insufferable and whiny, with his Bratty Half-Pint status being moved over to Jeffy.
  • Chromatic Arrangement: As of "Joseph's New Shell!", he's the Green to Joseph's Red and Cody's Blue.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: He didn't appear for almost three years after his debut, before reappearing in "Bowser Junior's Macaroni" and becoming a main character.
  • Comical Overreacting:
    • He seems to feel the need to shout where they're going and when they arrive.
    • In "The New House!", he seems to overreact just a little upon discovering the new house. As in screaming in excitement while checking out his Thomas-themed bedroom and bathroom, the room full of toys, and the "game room".
  • Comic Trio: Whenever there's an argument between him and his friends about the Sun being a planet, he's the one who comes up with the theory.
  • The Cuckoolander Was Right: In "The Pantry!", Junior comes up with the idea to make an improvised phone out of plastic cups and string in order to call for help. Cody is highly dismissive of the idea but it turns out to work when Jeffy returns home from Walmart and Junior successfully convinces him to open the pantry door.
  • Curse Cut Short: In "Bowser Junior's Lottery Ticket!".
Junior: WHAT THE— (cut to end of episode)
  • Deuteragonist: Given his overexposure, he and Mario often switch places, but he's consistently the second most important character in the series.
  • Dirty Coward: Sometimes, in order to get out of being punished, Junior will throw his friends under the bus. He does this to Jeffy twice, once when they snuck out of the house after being told not to go outside in "Jeffy and Junior Sneak Out!", and again in "Jeffy Gets Framed!" after accidentally breaking a vase with Rosalina's grandparents' ashes.
    • Also, when Junior steals Chef Pee Pee's car in "Bowser Junior's Stinky Friend!", he keeps trying to make Cody take the blame despite the fact that Cody wasn't even present at the incident. Needless to say, Chef Pee Pee doesn't buy the story, and it doesn't help that not only did Junior make it up on the spot, but he told Cody exactly what happened earlier, AND Chef Pee Pee clearly hears Junior tell Cody to lie for him. But, because Chef Pee Pee forgets about the burning cereal from earlier, Junior gets away with it.
  • Disproportionate Retribution:
  • The Ditz: For starters, he thinks the sun is a planet and stars are literally star shaped (even after being killed upon landing on the sun, he still thinks the sun is a planet). He also thinks the Earth is flat, and he seriously tries to use this as a legit science project in "The Science Project!". After being called out by Jackie Chu by pointing out that the Earth is round, using the globe as the main point of his argument, Junior quickly decides to eschew that, and falls back on the idiocy of thinking the sun is planet and not a star, thus making the Earth a moon and the moon a sub-satellite.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Chef Pee Pee constantly taunts Junior by pretending to be Joseph and Thomas and not letting him eat macaroni and cheese by having a duplicate of himself under the bowl. However, he starts to use the voodoo doll Joseph gave him earlier in the episode to mess with Chef Pee Pee, ranging from beating him up, throwing him to the floor and sending him into outer space. Doubles as Karmic Death for Chef Pee Pee.
  • Drama Queen: There are several moments where he will get upset and start crying.
  • Driven to Madness: In "Bowser Junior's Package!", after he believes someone had stolen his package. He goes into another state of madness after Brooklyn T. Guy steals his gak.
  • Driven to Suicide: In "The Magical Button!", he shoots himself after discovering it was the only way to bring back his family and friends. Of course, he's back by the end of the video.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: In "The Pantry!", while Junior doesn't exactly have the best ideas in the situation, his retort to Cody constantly dismissing every single suggestion of his for how to survive/escape the pantry is that he's at least trying to find a way they could break out while Cody does next to nothing useful.
  • Enfant Terrible: A spoiled, self-centered, bratty, and almost sociopathic kid who has killed people over minor infractions.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: Junior's idiocy and abrasiveness are often the cause of this happening.
  • Fatal Flaw: Ignorance. No matter how many times it bites him in the ass, Junior never learns to think before he acts. He's too stubborn and prideful to see it even when he's wrong. This once lead to him imperiling the world so severely that there was no other choice than to just restart everything.
  • Freudian Excuse: The main reason why Junior is the way he is can be attributed to the fact that he has an immensely screwed up life. He doesn't know his mom, he barely has any friends and the ones he does have are no better than he is, his dad loves Charleyyy and Friends more than him and whenever he wants his attention, Bowser just beats him up. He's spent his time emotionally traumatized, broken and depressed after being sent to military school.
  • Fiery Redhead: He has reddish-orange hair and can be easily riddled up if something doesn't go his way.
  • Expy: He was originally way brattier, throwing tantrums in nearly every video, was a huge jerk to his friends, and was more psychotic and would do things like murder babysitters for fun. Sounds a lot like Cartman, right?
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: "The Koopalings! Part 2" has Junior along with Iggy, Roy, Larry and Ludwig as the responsible siblings to Wendy, Morton and Lemmy's foolish siblings.
  • Gleeful and Grumpy Pairing: He's the Gleeful to Chef Pee Pee's Grumpy; he loves making Chef Pee Pee play games with him, take him fun places, and cook food for him.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • In "Jeffy's Pokemon Card!" (and arguably SML's "Pokemon" series), Junior appears to be a pretty big Pokémon fan and seems to be an avid collector of Pokemon cards. More specifically, cards of the Poliwag line, which is pretty much confirmed to be his favourite Pokemonnote .
    • In "The Switch!", Junior turns out to be pretty good at making macaroni and cheese.
  • Heroic BSoD:
    • Junior into depression after being taken to military school.
    • Cutting the crusts off his sandwich is enough to throw him into one.
    • He suffers one after the Koopalings destroy their apartment in "The Koopalings! Part 2", and even scolds them for doing so.
    • Junior goes into another big one in "Jeffy's Pokemon Card!" when Jeffy ruins and destroys his Politoad EX card, to the point he's broken down to screaming at the top of his lungs and crying horribly, although it later turns out that Cody got him another Politoad EX card from eBay for $5.
  • Hilariously Abusive Childhood: His dad always beats him for incredibly minor things.
  • Humiliation Conga: Whenever Laser-Guided Karma comes into play, most notably in "Cody's Revenge!". While Junior originally thought he was going to have a fun day, he gets instructed to not break anything and/or make any noise or else his father will send him to military school. Next, he gets mocked repeatedly about this. Later, Ken destroys him in a chess game although he thought he could defeat him. And this is before Cody blackmails him as revenge for all the abuse he put him through.
  • Hypocrite: Well, he believes that his Thomas toy is alive and yet says that Cody's Ken doll is "just a doll." Also, in spite of throwing a hissy fit when he's insulted, he has no qualms about insulting others.
    • In "April Fools", he passes off Chef Pee Pee pretending he lost Thomas as unfunny, and this is coming from the same kid who told Pee Pee his mom died as part of an April Fools' prank earlier in the video.
    • In "Cody's Report Card!", Junior tells Cody to prove that he's good at spelling and keeps saying that he is wrong just because he didn't say which word he was talking about. Yes, the guy who got a D in Spelling thinks he is smarter than the guy who got a B+. Granted, Junior is surprisingly good at spelling the words he gives Cody, but still, he's far from one to talk.
    • Perhaps one of the biggest examples is in "Cody's Bad Word", in which he and Joseph essentially bully Cody for saying "inward", mistaking it for a racial slur. While his outrage is arguably genuine, Junior is the last person to call anyone out on their bigotry, given that he himself is incredibly misogynistic, and that he himself has been racist towards black people, which does include Joseph too.
  • Informed Flaw: According to "Cody's Report Card!", Junior has a D in Spelling, yet when he's tutoring Cody on spelling, he's actually pretty spot on with the words he gives him; he just keeps expecting Cody to guess what word Junior gives him.
  • Insane Troll Logic:
    • He believes the Sun is a planet just because it is round, like the Earth. In turn, he thinks stars are pointy like they are traditionally portrayed.
    • In "Chef Pee Pee The Octopus!", Junior somehow thinks "complaining about two arms" equals "I wanna be an octopus." Not too farfetched, but it's...out there, to say the least.
  • It's All About Me: He refuses to let anyone touch his favorite toys.
  • Jerkass: He'll throw a fit if he doesn't get his way while playing with Joseph and Cody.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: In "Chef Pee Pee's Accident!", Junior calls out Chef Pee Pee for judging Catherine by her appearance after just giving Chef Pee Pee a pep talk about how Catherine won't judge him. Kind of surprising coming from a little kid with a certain way he usually treats women.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Starts to get better in "Chef Pee Pee's Birthday Surprise!", when he saw Chef Pee Pee cry that nobody remembered his birthday, Junior felt sorry for him and didn't hesitate to throw him an surprise party. At the end of the episode, Chef Pee Pee tells Junior that he enjoyed his party, and even though he constantly makes him miserable, he appreciates how he thought about him on his birthday.
    • Just in general, Junior has shown signs of caring for Chef Pee Pee, such as in "Bowser Junior's Three Wishes", where Junior was willing to help Chef Pee Pee wash the dishes when Junior himself had nothing better to do, and in "Bowser's Doritos" where he finds out that his dad is blaming Chef Pee Pee for eating his Doritos and Junior tries to confess he ate the Doritos, and not Chef Pee Pee, and immediately regretting killing Chef Pee Pee with a frozen water balloon and willing to make a deal with Craig in order to bring him back to life in "Evil Chef Pee Pee!", and when he kills robot Chef Pee Pee in "Chef Pee Pee The Robot", even though he was convinced that Chef Pee Pee was going to destroy all of humanity, Junior (along with Joseph and Cody) still felt sad that he had to kill him.
    • "The Magical Button!" is an interesting example. Junior doesn't seem to have any problem pressing the titular button and killing other people for free stuff (after all, he doesn't know them), and he kills a total of eight people in the video (Brooklyn T. Guy, Charleyyy, Patrick's mother, Bowser, Chef Pee Pee, Joseph, Goodman, and Cody), making this Junior's highest kill count to date (unless you count "The Mystery Safe!"). It's only until he finds out that the people he really cares about are dead that he immediately regrets it, and when he learns that he has to kill himself in order to bring them all back, he immediately does so with hesitation. Cody and Joseph later revive him by working out a loophole in the button and pressing it for another button that can bring Junior back, whilst killing Logan himself in the process.
  • Karma Houdini: Sometimes gets away without punishment. He was almost always this in his earliest videos where he would throw tantrums at Bowser or Chef Pee Pee and they would cave in.
  • Kids Are Cruel: He is often a jerk to his friends, especially Cody, and tends to make Chef Pee Pee's life a living hell.
  • Kids Love Dinosaurs: Junior likes to play with dinosaurs. Sometimes when he plays dinosaurs with his friends, he will give them one tiny dinosaur to pit against his many bigger ones.
  • Keet: Is pretty obnoxious and energetic.
  • Killed Mid-Sentence: In "Bowser Junior Goes To The Sun!".
Junior: I'm gonna be the first person to land on the— BOOM!
  • Know-Nothing Know-It-All: In regards to his theory that the Sun IS a planet.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Many episodes have him do something bad and try to cover it up, only to fail miserably.
  • Lightning Can Do Anything: He gains the power to manipulate electricity in "SuperPowers" after being struck by lightning.
  • Literal-Minded: In "The Gun!", after accidentally shooting Cody in the eye while trying to get rid of their fingerprints on the titular gun, Junior manages to ask Chef Pee Pee about what he would do in a situation like this. Chef Pee Pee jokes about cutting his hands off. Guess what happens next.
  • Mike Nelson, Destroyer of Worlds: In "The Mystery Safe!", he nukes the North Pole just because Santa Claus didn't get him anything for Christmas. It makes sense that he killed several polar bears and made several endangered species extinct for nothing, and even Does Bad Things Guy seems like Wile E. Coyote in comparison to this 8-year-old kid, who manages to outdo both him and Nancy due to the actions that he caused in this episode.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The Mean to Cody's Nice and Joseph's In-between, but the Nice to Bowser's Mean and Chef Pee Pee's in-between. He sometimes throws a fit when playing with Joseph and Cody, and can be cruel to Cody at times, but he likes to play with toys and annoy Bowser and Chef Pee Pee.
    • However, between 2016 and 2019, Junior was the Nice to Cody's Mean and Joseph's In-Between since Junior and Cody switched roles.
    • By 2022, the roles had reversed yet again, with Cody being the Nice to Junior's Mean and Joseph's In-Between.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Junior doesn't get it when it comes to tarantulas.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: He gives one to Cody in "SuperPowers" as retaliation for the latter having sex with Bowser while disguised as Chef Pee Pee.
  • Obfuscating Disability: Three weeks after breaking his leg, he starts pretending about his leg still broken in an attempt to get more free things, despite a warning not to from Brooklyn T. Guy. This comes back to bite him two weeks later, when Doofy the Dragon hosts a meet and greet at the mall.
  • Official Couple: With Penelope after "Junior's Crazy Girlfriend!"". Their relationship hit a rocky bump in "Junior's Scary Bump!", though it got mended after "Junior Kidnaps Penelope!", albeit after a hair-brained gambit on Junior's part.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • His reaction when Jeffy completely trashes their baby doll in "The Baby Project!".
    • Jeffy ruining and destroying his Politoad EX card in "Jeffy's Pokemon Card!" is enough to make him freak out horribly, to the point where he is broken down into tears and blows a raspberry right in Cody's face.
    • In "The Celebrity Crush!", he tries to get Penelope's celebrity crush Toby Sherbert injured/killed by cutting his parachute that he'll use to dive into stage, but then he has this reaction when he finds out Toby will be sky diving with Make A Wish cancer pantient.
  • Opportunistic Bastard: Junior will find and seize any opportunity to make fun out of Cody and his his mom.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: Junior has went into this five times, in "Punishment!", "Loses Thomas!", "Needs Glasses!" and "Flu Shot!", and "Goes to Military School! Part 2". He's normally loud and obnoxious, but he becomes eerily quiet and stoic when traumatically scared and sad. However, in the case of "Needs Glasses!", he acts very smart and more obnoxious and ends up insulting his friends and Chef Pee Pee as a result.
  • Out of Character Is Serious Business: Junior is usually seen as being loud, energetic, rowdy, rambunctious, obnoxious and dumb, there are times where he immediately stops his loud, rowdy, rambunctious and obnoxious behavior, and shows his smart, sane and sensible side instead in some episodes. In the case of "Forsaken", Junior told Cody the truth that he's actually not stealing Ken from him. He also goes into this in "Broken" too because as annoyed as he is, he does have a point to tell Cody to stop crying about Ken being dead.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • In "Chef Pee Pee's Surprise Party!", Junior finds out that it's Chef Pee Pee's birthday, and feeling bad for him, decides to throw him a surprise birthday party with the help of his friends.
    • In "Happy Merry Christmas!", he makes Joseph happy by making it the best Christmas for him. He gives him a spatula, which Joseph mistakes for a flyswatter, makes it "snow" inside the house and has Atso serve as Santa.
    • In "Smart Jeffy", Junior was worried about Jeffy after he jumped on a trampoline and then landed onto the table from it that caused his pencil to fly inside his nose upon impact and impale his brain. He even thought that Jeffy was dead.
  • Politically Incorrect Hero: On one hand, he hates ISIS as much as the next guy. On the other hand, he makes countless references to Hitler and Jews in videos like "The Past Machine!" and "Big Ears!", and also says the N-word repeatedly in "Bowser Junior's YouTube Channel!". But the icing on the cake is when he and his friends constantly act like hip gangsters with cool slangs and foul mouths in "Forsaken", despite their age.
    • "Heartbro-KEN" proves that he's homophobic, as his first thought upon learning Ken is cheating on Cody is to convert the latter into heterosexuality, finding a bunch of girls for him to date, in hopes that he goes through with the conversion.
    • He (along with Joseph) might also be transphobic if we're going by "Bowser Junior's Playtime 5". As when Sally (Cody) wants to change her gender, he and Joseph say no and rant about how God created people with either a penis or vagina, which is very similar to what most religious extremists tend to do. Downplayed in that it's just Junior playing house with his friends and that Cody was the one who choose to be a girl in the first place — though he was getting tired of it — but when kids play house, they do often replicate their home life.note
  • Precision F-Strike: The first time he saw the skeleton of Joseph's mom... wasn't pretty.
Junior: Nice place Joseph- WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He and Joseph are the Red to Cody's Blue.
    • He and Bowser are also the Red to Chef Pee Pee's Blue.
  • Running Gag: Since "Bowser Junior's 1st Grade! Part 5", he has tried many times to convince Cody that the Sun is a planet.
  • Serial Killer: In "Jeffy Has Kids!"... Although to be fair, this is a downplayed example, as Junior didn't know his cereal was Jeffy's offspring, so it's kinda hard to blame him.
    • Then again, considering the amount of people Junior has killed both intentionally and unintentionally, he'd definitely qualify for this trope and it's safe to say that he's looking at some potential jail time in the future.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Or rather, Sir Says Cool Slang And Swears A Lot.
  • The Sociopath: He is a self-centered, rude, unruly, obnoxious, and impulsive child who is a total prick to his friends, especially Cody and Chef Pee Pee. He rarely shows guilt for his actions, and will go so far to murder people, with one episode even implying he has killed his babysiters before.
  • Spoiled Brat:
    • Chef Pee Pee always caves into his demands and Bowser isn't making things any easier. In fact, when Junior got his credit card, he went so beyond his $10,000 limit that the Loan Dolphin and Goodman took away all his stuff, which was also because he never paid the money back, leaving him miserable. Although as of 2016, Junior isn't able to get his way as often.
    • For a specific example, Junior spends much of "Junior's Sprite Problem!" raging like a child because Sprite no longer comes in green bottles, even thinking the newer bottles were "diet" just because they're clear. It only stops when Cody has the idea to colour the outside of clear Sprite bottles with a green Sharpie, even intent on doing this every single time Junior wants a Sprite.note
  • Telepathy: In "SuperPowers 2" he gains the ability to read other peoples' minds. Although most of the time, some of the stuff he reads is quite disturbing for him.
  • There Can Be Only One: He tells Timmy that there can only be one gay friend in the trio in "Neighborhood Watch".
  • Time Master: Well OK, he doesn't have the power himself, and it's technically shared with his friends, but in "The Remote!", he can use the titular device to stop time, rewind time, fast forward time, mute people, make people speak Spanish, and even age-restrict videos.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: He has died multiple times, only to come back in the next episode regardless.
    • Black Yoshi shoots him while saving Princess Peach in "Baby Mutant Turtles", his debut appearance.
    • In "Bowser's Thanksgiving", he and his dad are likely killed from an oven explosion.
    • In "Bowser Junior's Bubble Bath!", he gets eaten by a shark while taking a bath...somehow.
    • In "Bowser Junior's Midnight Snack!", he and Chef Pee Pee are caught in a gas explosion caused by Junior "pumping the gas".
    • "Bowser Junior's Addiction" has him killed in a car crash while trying to drive to Starbucks.
    • In "Chef Pee Pee Quits! Part 4", Bowser runs him over with a car.
    • In "The Warp Pipe!", he falls in a warp pipe and gets attacked by multiple enemies to his death, along with Mario, after Chef Pee Pee pranked him.
    • "Bowser Junior's Lightsaber!" has him killed by Yoda.
    • In "The Ouija Board!", he gets killed by the Ouija demon alongside Joseph, Cody and Chef Pee Pee.
    • In "Bowser Junior Goes To The Sun!", his spaceship explodes while heading towards the Sun.
    • In "Black Yoshi The Assistant!", Black Yoshi is pushed too far by his demands, and shoots him.
    • In "Netflix and Kill", he gets killed by the Netflix and Kill girl.
    • In "Pinch! Pinch! Pinch!", he gets shot by Does Bad Things Guy.
    • In "Jeffy's Tantrum!", he hangs himself playing with Jeffy's noose.
    • In "Loch Ness Monster!", his house gets nuked after the Loch Ness Monster is revealed to be real.
    • In "The Magical Button!", he commits suicide in order to reverse the deaths of his friends and family after he killed them with the titular button for wishes, although he is later brought back to life by Joseph and Cody.
    • In "Chicken Pox!", he ends up turning into an egg which then gets promptly smashed by Cody.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Junior is usually this in his trio of friends, due to his brattiness and his rambunctious attitude. He does get better in later videos.
  • Token Religious Teammate: He mentions Jesus and God more often than the other characters.
  • Too Dumb to Live: His limited IQ has caused him to die a few times, yet he always comes back in his next appearance.
  • Took a Level in Kindness:
    • He had started to become less bratty and selfish from 2016 onwards, though he relapses back into his old, jerkish self on a few occasions. What's even more bizarre is that he lost his selfishness to Jeffy, who apparently acquired all of it.
    • Subverted in the Puppets era (especially in videos made during 2022), as Junior pretty much reverted back to being cruel towards Cody nonstop (with Joseph's aid, no less) and facing way fewer consequences than when he "improved".
  • Tongue Trauma: In "The Drone!", he gets his tongue cut off by a propeller after he tries to stick it into Cody's drone.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Macaroni and Cheese, Happy Meals, and Chips Ahoy cookies, among others.
  • Trauma Button: In "Loch Ness Monster!", Junior was shown to be visibly upset when Cody calls his mother fat because he doesn't have a mom (despite all the mom jokes he makes to him).
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: In "The Past Machine!", he summons the meteor that killed the dinosaurs — and later a second meteor — just so that it can kill a T-Rex.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: While his father Bowser is obsessed with the childish television series "Charleyyy and Friends", Junior's favorite show is shown to be incredibly disturbing and always ends with the main character killing himself..to Junior's delight.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: In "Bowser Junior's Biggest Fear!", Junior is revealed to be afraid of cotton balls. The reason? When he was a baby, Bowser shoved a bunch of cotton balls in his mouth because he wouldn't stop sucking on his pacifier.
  • Villain Protagonist: In most episodes centered on Bowser Junior, he is finding ways to cause mischief, such as pulling cruel pranks for giggles, annoying and torturing Chef Pee Pee for days on end, and even murdering people because of his amusement.
  • Your Mom: He makes these jokes constantly about Cody's mom (and on some occasions Joseph's mom).

    Chef Pee Pee
Voiced by: Lovell Stanton

Real Name: Fernando Strongbottom

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chef_pee_pee.png
A grouchy and unlucky chef who works for Bowser and his son. He constantly gets annoyed by both, especially Bowser Junior, but is treated nicely by Mario and his friends. He is also the third-born son of King Strongbottom and has two older sisters.
  • Ambiguously Bi: Has managed to flirt with multiple women, including Lola the maid and Muriel the school lunch lady, but on one occasion he also asked Brooklyn T. Guy to make love with him.
  • Ambiguously Brown: He's an Italian who's voiced by a Black guy.
  • Angry Chef: He's Bowser's personal chef who has little to no tolerance to his abusiveness and Junior's antics.
  • Bad Boss: One episode of Season 3 of Mario and Luigi's Stupid and Dumb Adventures features an Alternate Universe where Bowser works for Chef Pee Pee instead of the other way round. Just like how the main universe Bowser treats Chef Pee Pee, the alternate Chef Pee Pee treats Bowser like dirt.
  • Berserk Button:
    • The bad treatment from Bowser and Junior is a big one for him. It got so bad at one point that he ended up quitting.
    • Tricking him into believing that a family member died will result in a huge rant from him.
    • It may not be a good idea to make fun of his cooking, as Junior learned the hard way in "The New House!".
    • When someone ends up making really huge messes in the house, it can be enough to anger Chef Pee Pee once he recovers from the initial shock.
  • Big, Thin, Short Trio: The Thin to Bowser's Big and Junior's Short.
  • Butt-Monkey: Life seems hellbent on him being as miserable as possible, from Bowser, Junior, Joseph and Cody bothering him all the time, never being able to make it on his own, and even getting severely injured or killed on occassion. In fact, he even made a rap song dedicated to how miserable his life is in "Chef Pee Pee Quits! Part 6".
  • Came Back Wrong: After Craig the Devil brings him back to life, Chef Pee Pee becomes evil. He tries to feed Junior poisoned macaroni and cheese, and later beheads Bowser and shoots Brooklyn T. Guy. It turns out all of this was planned by Craig in order to teach Junior a lesson.
  • Catchphrase: "What do you want?" towards Bowser and/or Junior, often in frustration.
  • Characterization Marches On: In early videos, Chef Pee Pee was a dimwitted chef who loved working for Bowser, but as the series went on, especially with the introduction of Bowser Junior, Chef Pee Pee became smarter and grew to hate Bowser and Junior for treating him badly.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: Let's face it, the episode "Chef Pee Pee's Cooking Sucks" pretty much sums up all of his cooking in general... yet some of his hodgepodge "meals" turn out delicious.
  • Cosmic Plaything: With the people he lives with, as well his brutal Yank the Dog's Chain moments, it's safe to say that the universe isn't on his side.
  • The Cynic: Plays this in spades most of the time.
  • Crossdresser: He has twice now dressed up as a woman at the request of Bowser, in "Mother's Day!" and "Mario's Beautiful Date!".
  • Deadpan Snarker: Especially towards Junior.
Junior: Umm...D-Did we piss off Poseidon?
  • Depending on the Writer: The quality of his cooking is wildly inconsistent across videos, he'll either cook something that the characters will actually enjoy eating, or just straight up amalgamated slop.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Chef Pee Pee is the second biggest Butt-Monkey next to Mario, but when he has had enough, he has had enough:
    • "Chef Pee Pee Quits! Part 3": Chef Pee Pee electrocutes Bowser with a taser for not only beating Junior over letting him starve, but for also making his life horrible for the past three years.
    • "Bowser Junior's Broken Leg!": Junior exploits him for favors, taking adavantage of his broken leg and even lying to him that it's broken again. However, a fateful Doofy The Dragon meet-and-greet ad on TV forces him to confess the truth to Chef Pee Pee. Chef Pee Pee is furious, and brutally beats up Junior for lying to him. So bad was the beating that he broke Junior's other leg in the process, reconfining him to his bed.
    • "The Sticky Situation!" ends with him, under Mario's suggestion, giving Junior A Taste Of His Own Medicine with the glue the latter was causing trouble to him and the others with by gluing his Thomas toy to the ceiling fan.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: In "April Fools!" Junior pranks Chef Pee Pee telling him that his mother died, causing Pee Pee to break down into tears. Understandably he's pissed a little bit with Junior when he finds out it was a prank.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: In "Sicken", he reveals that "Pee Pee" is a nickname that was given to him because he got a piercing on his penis in college. His real name is Fernando.
  • Expy: Of the Squidward Tentacles variety. He's a grumpy and arrogant Butt-Monkey, but at the same time the Only Sane Man to a Bad Boss, a hyperactive doofus, and the hyperactive doofus's friends. All those things aside, he also aspires to leave his job to turn his passion into a living, but is always reminded that he just isn't good at what he passions over.
  • Eye Scream:
    • In "Bowser's Cookies", Toad accidentally knifes him in the eye. Bowser later stabs his other eye with a fork.
    • In "Bowser Junior Goes To Disney World", he gets stabbed in the eye when Junior finds a knife in a box of cereal.
    • In "The Drone", he gets his eye ripped out.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: This poor guy can't catch even a short break.
    • In "The President's Chef!", he gains the chance to become Barack Obama's personal chef, but Obama dislikes his food thus he doesn't hire him.
    • In "Bowser Junior's Caprisun", he simply tries to have a nice meal, but Junior keeps bothering him. By the time Junior is finally out of the picture, his lunch break is over and Bowser takes away his food.
    • In "The Gun!" Junior cuts off Chef Pee Pee's hands after their fingerprints end up in a gun which they believe was used in a murder. It turns out that the gun actually belonged to a police officer.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Fried Chicken", he tries to cook Woody's cock (chicken), but the cock ends up shooting him in the head
    • In "Bowser Junior's Cheeseburger", he simply tries to cook a cheeseburger for Junior, but every single time The Rat steals every slice of cheese Chef Pee Pee tries to add to the burger.
    • In the Chef Pee Pee Quits! series, Chef Pee Pee quits his position as Bowser's chef and tries to look for new jobs, but each job he tries out doesn't last long enough and he is either fired, forced out of the job or quits.
    • In "Chef Pee Pee's Lottery Ticket", it appears that he won the lottery, and he gives a profanity-loaded "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Bowser, Junior and Toad, only for Bowser to find out that it was an expired ticket, thus he punishes Pee Pee for his insults by making him work 3 years without pay and 4 years overtime. It will surely be 2018 before his punishment is completely over.
    • In "Mario's Wig", Mario promises Chef Pee Pee that he will kill Bowser if Chef Pee Pee helps him to get back with Peach. After it's revealed that Peach only liked Mario for his wig and is still uninterested in him, Chef Pee Pee begins to cry because this means Mario won't kill Bowser.
  • Gleeful and Grumpy Pairing: He's the Grumpy to Junior's Gleeful; he hates having to look after Junior, especially because it's one of the many responsibilities that Bowser gives him.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: He has absolutely no patience for Bowser or Junior. However, you can't really blame him, either.
  • Heroic BSoD: Seems to happen to him a lot when stuff doesn't work out for him.
    • In "Bowser Junior's Caprisun", he simply loses it when Junior makes him miss his 5-minute lunch break and Bowser takes away his lunch.
    • He falls victim to this a couple of times in "Chef Pee Pee Quits! Part 3", one after killing a little kid and another bigger one after Shrek's crap ends up on his head.
    • In "Chef Pee Pee's Mistake!", he ends up going into a total mental breakdown because the dog that he accidentally ran over doesn't stop following him, and it doesn't help Junior wants it as a pet. It's enough to the point where he's taken to an insane asylum.
    • Suffers a breakdown after realizing he became the easter bunny in "Bowser Junior's Easter Wish!".
    • In "Black Yoshi's Girlfriend Problem!", after Chef Pee Pee finishes cleaning the kitchen, he is happy that now he can take a break, only for Birdo to spit out an egg causing a mess in the kitchen.
    • His reaction to Junior filling up the entire apartment with sticky notes in "Bowser Junior's Cookies!" throws him into yet another mad freakout.
    • In "SuperPowers!", when Cody transforms himself into a roast beef sandwich the trio decide to prank Chef Pee Pee. While cooking Chef Pee Pee finds the transformed Cody and, thinking that it is real food, tries to take a bite, just as Cody reverts back to his normal self. Chef Pee Pee then goes into a total breakdown after realizing that he kissed Cody and runs off to the bathroom to vomit.
    • Chef Pee Pee is left completely speechless and mad, after the Koopalings destroy their apartment in "The Koopalings! Part 2".
  • Hypocritical Humor: In "Bowser Junior's Imaginary Friend!" he comments that imaginary friends are for stupid people, only to be revealed he has an imaginary friend too.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: He and his unnamed sister are seen as the responsible siblings to their sister Stacy's foolish sibling.
  • Jaw Drop:
    • Whenever Junior or someone else ends up making a really huge mess at the house, Chef Pee Pee almost always jaw-drops speechlessly in shock at seeing the huge mess he knows he will have to clean up.
    • This is also part of his reaction in "Chef Pee Pee's Cooking Sucks!" when Toad and Junior make a rap song about his cooking.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: There are times when Chef Pee Pee has to be mean or even outright violent to Junior and Bowser, because the two usually cause his stress with their shenanigans. Hell, he even lampshaded how the two constantly cause stress him out in "Bowser Junior's Dog".
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He may hate Bowser, Junior, and his friends with passion and occasionally acts like a jerk to them regardless of who started it, but it doesn't mean he's got no heart; in fact, he managed to save Bowser's life once after Bowser tried to commit suicide. He also cares about Junior on occasion too, even admitting that he kinda loves him at times.
  • Lethal Chef: One of his most notable character traits. He often cooks bad food and is usually oblivious to it. Several examples are:
    • This trope is the basis for "Chef Pee Pee's Cooking Sucks!", with him starting by putting tuna on chicken nuggets.
    • In "The Fortune Cookies!", Chef Pee Pee, blindfolded, makes a massive mess in the kitchen, persuading Junior and his friends to buy Chinese food.
    • In "The Bet!", he prepares what he calls ravioli for a Best Chef competition, and asks Mario to taste test it, but Mario declines. Although his "ravioli" smells horrible, he still ends up winning the competition because Brooklyn T. Guy loves the taste of it.
    • In "Chef Pee Pee's New Job!", he cooks muddy food, and claims that "the worse it smells, the better it tastes". Bowser and Junior then both end up yelling at and insulting him.
  • Missing Mom: Oddly enough, the only relative of Chef Pee Pee's that hasn't been revealed is his mothernote , although judging by how he reacted to Junior telling him she was dead (before finding out it was a prank), it appears that he loved her like any son would.
  • Never My Fault: In "Uh Oh, SpaghettiOs!", he startles Junior causing him to drop a bowl of SpaghettiO's on the kitchen floor, but still angrily blames Junior for breaking said bowl.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The in-between to Junior's Nice and Bowser's Mean. He's smarter than both Bowser and Junior, and much saner than them, but can sometimes act grumpy towards them when they annoy him, even though they both start it.
  • Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: When he turns evil in "Evil Chef Pee Pee".
  • N-Word Privileges: He says it to Junior, but when Junior says the same word to him in "Bowser Junior's YouTube Channel!", he beats him up.
  • Only Sane Man: He's the saner one of the trio, compared to Bowser and Junior.
  • Out of Focus: Downplayed, Chef Pee Pee still appears regularly, but he doesn't contribute to the episodes plots as much as he used to. For example, it took almost three years from "Mr. Chef Pee Pee Head" to "Chef Pee Pee's Girlfriend" for his name to show up in an episode's title.
  • Parental Substitute: Because Bowser is usually in the other room watching Charleyyy, Chef Pee Pee is usually the one watching Junior.
  • Pet the Dog: "Chef Pee Pee The Babysitter" is one of the few occasions where Chef Pee Pee wins at the end, with him gaining $1,100 after babysitting Jeffy and Bowser loving the food he made for him.
  • Really Royalty Reveal: While the story arc itself appears to be dropped, it was never really retconned either. It's revealed in "Chef Pee Pee's Family!" that Chef Pee Pee is a prince and related to the royal family of the Iron Asses of Wales. If we're to also go by The Reveal in "Sicken", that would make Chef Pee Pee's real name Fernando Strongbottom.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He's the Blue to Bowser and Junior's Red.
  • Running Gag: Since "Bowser Junior's Doll", he says, "Nah, it's just me, Nigga!", whenever he reveals himself in disguise. This has since been phased out due to violating YouTube Community Guidelines, since "nigga" is a derogatory term for an African-American, even though Chef Pee Pee himself is an Italian born in France (the thing is though, it was ad-libbed by his voice actor and performer Lovell Stanton who is in fact African-American).
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In "Bowser Junior's Bubble Bath", he's forced to watch over Junior while he takes a bath. Junior at first refuses to take a bath fearing that there would be sharks in his bathtub. Chef Pee Pee then manages to get Junior to take a bath after Junior's Macaroni and Cheese falls into the tub. While Junior bathes, Chef Pee Pee turns around only to see that a shark had eaten Junior and leaves, very confused and disappointed at what happened.
Chef Pee Pee: IS THAT A DAMN SHARK?! Oh, no, no, no! Hell no, I'm out.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: He used to swear the most out of all SML characters until Jeffy and Goodman took the spotlight, but who can really blame him?
  • Straight Man: To both Bowser and Junior.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: He has died multiple times, only to return without explanation in the next episode.
    • In "Shrimpo Hunter Episode 4", he is caught in a car crash, after Woody jumps out of the car to catch a shrimpo.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Fried Chicken", he gets shot by Tyreese and is later cooked into fried chicken. Mario even lampshades this after Pee Pee becomes cooked.
Mario: So many fans are going to think that he's not gonna be in the next video, but he really is!
    • In "Bowser Junior's Midnight Snack!", he and Junior are caught in a gas explosion caused by Junior "pumping the gas".
    • In "April Fools!", Junior and Toad put bleach in Chef Pee Pee's Sprite, thus poisoning him.
    • In "The Ouija Board!", he gets killed by the Ouija demon alongside Junior and his friends.
    • Averted in "Evil Chef Pee Pee!", as after Junior and Joseph hit him in the head with a frozen water balloon, his death is treated as permanent, before getting brought back to life by Craig the Devil.
    • In "Bowser Junior's 8th Birthday!", he gets eaten alive by the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza animatronics alongside Junior's friends and Brooklyn T. Guy.
    • In "Chef Pee Pee's Cooking Sucks!", he gets turned into toast.
    • In "Netflix and Kill", he gets killed by the Netflix and Kill girl.
    • Averted in "Chef Pee Pee The Robot!", where Junior and his friends believe they killed "Chef Pee Pee" after throwing him into the tub, but then it turns out the real Chef Pee Pee was actually on vacation and simply made a robot duplicate of himself in his place.
    • In "Loch Ness Monster!", his house gets nuked after the Loch Ness Monster is revealed to be real.
    • In "The Magical Button!", he dies after Junior uses the titular button to wish for an ice cream truck.
    • "Cody's Mistake!" implies that he drowned shortly after being buried in the sand by Junior and his friends.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: In "The Fishing Trip!", Bowser finally gives him a day off. And in "Chef Pee Pee's Birthday Surprise!", Junior and his friends, feeling sorry for him, throw a surprise party for his birthday. Then there's "Chef Pee Pee the Babysitter", where he gets paid $1,100 for babysitting Jeffy for Mario and making a buffet for Bowser at the same time, and "The Bet!", wherein he wins the Golden Spoon competition against Mr. Goodman, even if it was rigged by the Loan Dolphin.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: According to "Mario's Wig", Chef Pee Pee says that he likes macaroni.
  • Unexplained Recovery: Aside from his many deaths, he just as often get non-lethally but permanently injured, usually pertaining to his arms, but he'll be in perfect health by his next appearance.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Job!" and "Bowser Junior's Lightsaber!", he gets his arm chopped off.
    • In "The Gun!", he gets his hand cut off.
    • In "Bowser Junior's Fireworks!", he gets both arms blown off.
  • Would Hurt a Child:
    • In some episodes, Chef Pee Pee tries to either beat up, choke or strangle Junior whenever the latter makes his day miserable.
    • His entire goal during "The Purge!" is kill Junior because of the misery he brought to him. Well, this is thanks to Bowser.
    • He also tried to cook Nemo and Flounder for dinner on different occasions.
    • Averted in "Chef Pee Pee Quits! Part 3", where he runs over a kid that was attacking Officer Goodman and doesn't take it kindly after he kills the kid.

Click here to see his puppet form

An unlucky and athletic Koopa Troopa who hangs out with Bowser Junior and Cody. He is shown to be skilled in basketball and a few other sports, and also used to play Call of Duty, his gamertag being "CharleyBrown678".

  • Abusive Mom: The 2017 Halloween special "Joseph's Mom!" reveals that he didn't kill his mother, but rather, she faked her death after winning the lottery, and disowned him because she hates him and had moved on to a new life with a new husband and a ton of money. As a result, she has abused Joseph in absentia both psychologically and mentally, since Joseph's sanity slowly started to deteriorate after he found out that he "killed" his mom.
  • The Ace: He's shown to be really athletic. He's good at striking hoops at basketball, being able to do flips into the pool and he's also good at other sports. He's even good at Skee-Ball and Basketball at Chuck E. Cheese's as shown in "Bowser Junior's Summer Vacation" and "Jeffy's Birthday!", respectively.
  • Ascended Extra: He went from appearing single with Junior in a few early 2014 videos to appearing exclusively in the Summer School series to appearing in most of Junior's appearances in 2014 and 2015 before appearing in almost every single Junior video in 2016 onwards.
  • Ax-Crazy: At first Joseph, while still losing a bit of his sanity, was just a sympathetic orphan living by himself and wasn't violent at all. But "Joseph Moves In!" implies that the reason he lives by himself is because he killed his mother, thus turning Joseph from a Woobie to a psychotic Enfant Terrible who is just as violent as Junior. It's ultimately Subverted when it's revealed his mom abandoned him in "Joseph's Mom!".
  • Berserk Button: Joseph will flip if there is garlic sauce instead of marinara sauce in his pizza. Gary learned this the hard way in "Cody's Real Dad!".
  • Butt-Monkey: Seems to have the worst luck of the three; unless the episode is about Junior suffering Laser-Guided Karma. Even putting aside his tragic backstory, he is usually severely injured or killed. As of now, he has the second highest number of deaths in the series, exceeding Chef Pee Pee and Toad.
  • Break the Cutie: He's abandoned by his mother which caused Joseph to go insane after he started believing that he killed his mom.
  • Catchphrase: "He's a doll, dude!" in regards to Cody's relationship with his Ken doll.
  • Characterization Marches On: He was a relatively normal kid characterized by his athleticism and had the role as the Only Sane Man of the trio between him, Junior, and Cody. In future episodes, he is shown to be mentally unstable and exhibits many signs of insanity. He also became Junior's Yes-Man who was dumber than even him. Later episodes also played up his Jerkass tendencies.
  • Chromatic Arrangement: As of "Joseph's New Shell!", he's the Red to Cody's Blue and Junior's Green.
  • Comic Trio: Whenever there's an argument between him and his friends about the Sun being a planet, he's the one who agrees with Junior
  • Creepy Child/Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: Increasingly so ever since "Joseph's House!".
  • A Day in the Limelight: Despite being a major character, he didn't get his own episode until "Joseph's House!", where Joseph invites Junior and Cody over to his run-down house when Bowser has his apartment fumigated for termites.
  • Dirty Coward: Whenever Junior and Cody get into some kind of trouble, you can expect Joseph to immediately leave the scene.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: In "Joseph Moves In!", it is implied that he killed his mother, just because she didn't make his sandwich the right way. "Joseph's Mom!" jossed this, as it is revealed that his mother had been faking her own death.
  • The Ditz: He's the dumbest out of his group of friends, being even dumber than Junior. He gets even worse grades than Junior, constantly supports Junior's stupid ideas and beliefs, and has been shown to be awestruck by even the simplest of things. He couldn't tell his fish was dead even when it was reduced to a skeleton, and he only put a small amount of water in his fishbowl because he was worried he would drown.
  • Dysfunctional Family: While most of the families in SML are quirky or insane, Joseph's is proven to be the most tragic yet ridiculously morbid. His father is abusive, he killed his own mom who is actually alive and just faked her death to leave her family, and lives with the perverted clown, Screwball, who serves as his current care-taker.
  • Enfante Terrible: Subverted. Considering the fact that it's heavily implied he killed his own mother since she didn't make his sandwiches the right way, he was thought to be this until it's revealed that she never died to begin with.
  • Expy: For Kenny McCormick from South Park. A daredevil with the reputation as the poor kid and who has died multiple times, only to come back the next episode to boot? Check. Has a best friend who was already based on Cartman. Double Check.
  • Flight: In "Joseph's New Shell", he obtained a red shell with wings, becoming a red Koopa Paratroopa, and has retained them and the ability to fly in subsequent videos before the C&D.
  • The Generic Guy: Doesn't have much of a personality outside of being an African-American stereotype, much like Black Yoshi, and Junior's yes man who's interested in all things "cool". Him always leaving when something goes wrong, thus having little to do with the videos does nothing to help his character.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: He has one of the shortest tempers out of the cast.
  • Heroic BSoD: Joseph goes into a breakdown in "Jeffy Gets Framed" when Jeffy shoots his mother. Fortunately, it's just Brooklyn Guy in a disguise alive and well, and Joseph is left unaware of this.
  • His Name Really Is "Barkeep": His last name actually is "Hisfriendfromschool".
  • Hypocrite: He makes fun of Cody's last name in "Substitute Teacher!", despite his own name being arguably even worse.
  • Irony: Joseph is homeless, poor, and alone despite the fact that he has wealthy family. His mother is very wealthy, she abondoned him for the money. Joseph also has grandparents that are wealthy; however, due to Junior and Cody's prank and Brooklyn making things worse, Joseph doesn't believe his grandparents are alive.
  • Jerk Jock: Very much so, as he's shown to be just as rude to Junior and Cody.
    • Lovable Jock: Is very good at basketball, and loves sports.
  • Matricide: The reason he lives by himself? He killed his mother over a sandwich! Except that's not what happened, as revealed later in "Joseph's Mom!".
  • Man on Fire: In "SuperPowers 2", his superpower has him catch on fire. And die.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The In-between to Cody's Nice and Junior's Mean. He can be the sanest at times, but he can also just as rude to Cody as Junior is and he's repeatedly shown to be a Dirty Coward.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: In "Bowser Junior's 8th Birthday!", he enjoys a pizza with fingers and eyeballs on it as well as a game where they're bobbing for body parts, while everyone else is freaked out.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He and Junior are the Red to Cody's Blue.
  • Out of Focus: As of 2018, he has started to appear less often due to not having much, if any importance in the plots. Many episodes that do have him in it lampshade his uselessness or only have him as a Living Prop.
  • Perpetual Poverty: It's no secret that Joseph is poor. He lives in an abandoned house at best to Junior's own bushes at worst. However, he seems to have proper clothes and never starves (though the latter is somewhat Justified as Junior provides him food to eat). This was briefly Subverted in "Joseph's House", where it's revealed that Joseph lived in a mansion all along. That being said, since previous episodes have undoubtedly revealed Joseph to be poor and later episodes forgo this revelation entirely, all evidence points to the episode being non-canon.
  • Running Gag: Since "Joseph's House!", a lot of gags and references have been made about how horrible his life is. His mother abandoning him gets the most out of this.
  • Sanity Ball: He is sometimes the saner one of the trio, compared to Cody and Junior, with exceptions being when Junior argues about the Sun being a planet. He was the most normal of the group of friends in earlier videos, before Cody began taking over as the Only Sane Man.
  • Sanity Slippage: The episode "Joseph's House!" reveals that his horrible home life since Halloween 2015 has started to take a toll on him. "The Dog Show!" confirms this when Joseph reveals his dead dog to Junior and pretends it is still alive, as well as "Bowser Junior's 8th Birthday!" when he sends Junior an NSFW birthday card and enjoys the Squick at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He always tends to leave Junior's house whenever something bad happens.
  • Secretly Wealthy: It is revealed in "Joseph the Millionaire" that his mother loans him large sums of money, which he used to inherit a secret mansion. When Junior follows him and sees through his friend's "poor" facade, Joseph gives him a tour of the place...before wiping his memory clean.
  • Self-Made Orphan: "Joseph Moves In!" implies that he killed his mother. Except, as revealed in a later video, his mother actually faked her own death to disown him.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: The Manly Man to Cody's Sensitive Guy.
  • Social Services Does Not Exist: A major issue in "Joseph's House!". Ever since his mom died on October 31, 2015, he's had to live in the dark since December due to no one paying the bills, he has no running water, his pet fish is dead, he has to steal money from his mom to pay for food, he has to imagine what video game to play whenever he plays his Xbox One due to having no electricity, his dad is a zombie (and becomes a ghost not long after), and Screwball the Clown is his only roommate and living companion, but doesn't do anything to pay the bills. It is later revealed that Joseph's mom didn't die and actually abandoned him for two straight years, but still, it's hard to blame Joseph when you think about how much damage his mother had given not only him, but his house too.
  • Straight Man: Of Junior's group of friends.
  • Super-Speed: In "SuperPowers!", he gains the power to run really fast after being struck by lightning.
  • There Are No Therapists: Nobody is particularly concerned about his obviously deteriorating mental state.
  • * There Can Be Only One: Like Junior, he tells Timmy that they can only have one gay friend in the group in "Neighborhood Watch".
  • They Killed Kenny Again: With many other SML characters, he has died multiple times, only to return without explanation in the next episode.
    • In "The Call of Duty Blackout", he is shot by Black Yoshi, after he paid the Rat to cut the wires from Mario's fuse box in order to stop Black Yoshi from playing the new Call of Duty.
    • In "Bowser Junior's Sleepover", he gets killed by Chica.
    • In "The Burger!", Joseph wishes he had two heads, but eventually regrets it and accidentally wishes he had no head. Once he realizes his mistake, he tries to change his wording, but he's left headless and dies.
    • In "The Ouija Board!", he gets killed by the Ouija demon alongside Junior, Cody and Chef Pee Pee.
    • In "Cody The Magician!", he gets sliced in half by Cody during a magic trick. He comes back after Cody says the "mindfreak" word.
    • In "Bowser Junior's 8th Birthday!", he gets eaten alive by the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza animatronics alongside Chef Pee Pee, Cody and Brooklyn T. Guy.
    • In "Happy Halloween!", he gets killed by a killer clown.
    • In "Netflix and Kill", he gets killed by the Netflix and Kill girl.
    • In "Loch Ness Monster!", Junior's house and the surrounding neighborhood are nuked after the Loch Ness Monster is revealed to be real.
    • In "The Magical Button!", he dies after Junior uses the titular button to wish for a Hubba Bubba.
    • In "SuperPowers 2", he gets burned to death after activating his fire powers.
  • Too Dumb to Live: In "Happy Halloween!", he dresses up as Deadpool, and when he sees a killer clown, he attempts to fight him believing he can't die since Deadpool has a Healing Factor. He immediately gets murdered.
  • Verbal Tic: Uses "Dude" a lot.
  • Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: What kind of last name is "Hisfriendfromschool"?
    • Even more surprising is that Junior and Cody never mock him for it, only characters like Brooklyn Guy and Bowser point out how ridiculous his surname is.

A Magikoopa who is grotesquely perverted and gay. One of Junior's friends, he also has a Companion Cube, a Ken doll who he genuinely believes is a flesh-and-blood human being.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: Despite being in a relationship with Ken, it's very strongly implied that the has a thing for Junior and later Timmy Huckerdoo.
  • Ambiguously Human: More like Ambiguously Mortal Turtle but "Cody The Vampire" has Junior and Joseph think Cody is a vampire. Their reasoning to believe Cody is a vampire is not the typical Insane Troll Logic and decent factors could support their belief, such as the abnormal fangs, the supicously convenient allergy to garlic, and the outright impossible lack of a reflection.
  • Ambiguously Gay: Early on it wasn't fully revealed if Cody was outright gay or not, but as the series goes on, his sexuality becomes less and less ambiguous. Averted nowadays, as him being gay is a major part of his character.
  • Ascended Extra: Along with Joseph, he went from appearing exclusively in the Summer School series to appearing in most of Junior's appearances in 2014 and 2015 to [appearing in almost every single Junior video in 2016 onwards.
  • Aesop Amnesia: Cody tends to forget his lessons he learns. He still believes his parents love him and wants him to be a perfect kid; however, his parents never love him and they don't care about him being the perfect kid.
  • Ax-Crazy: He becomes this in "Sicken", when Junior tossing Ken out the window and breaking him in half drives him to attempted murder. Specifically, he tries to kill Chef Pee Pee, Joseph and Bowser, forcing Junior to choose which one to kill... over a doll.
Cody: You killed someone I love, so now I have to kill someone you love.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Cody really hates it when Junior makes pig jokes about his mom.
    • Post-"Bowser Junior's 1st Grade!" episodes have shown Cody hates it when Junior tries to tell him that the sun is a planet.
    • Not appearing as a playable character in Mario games will send him flying off the rails, especially if the game has room for alternate forms of certain characters, but not for a Magikoopa.
    • Harm Ken in any way, and Cody will turn bloodthirsty. Junior learned this the hard way in "Sicken!" and "Chicken Pox!".
  • Big "NO!": He uses this Whenever something bad happens to him.
  • Birthday Episode: Has one in "Cody's Birthday!". He reveals to his friends that he's eight years old, and he's born on February 29th, which technically makes him two years old. However, in response to this Junior and Joseph try far to throw him a 2nd birthday party and pretend that he's a baby.
  • Blind Without 'Em: He can't see anything without his glasses. In "The Burger!", one of the wishes he makes on the magic cheeseburger he, Junior, and Joseph find behind the refrigerator is to see without glasses, the result of which gives him two big, bulgy eyes.
  • Butt-Monkey: Junior and Joseph often make him the butt of their jokes in videos like "Cool Cody" and "Loch Ness Monster!", not to mention the potshots they always throw at him targeting his mom. His parents also humiliate him on a regular basis.
  • Butter Face: His human form is a male version, as he is ever bit as hunky as he says he is, but his face looks absolutely hideous.
  • Camp Gay: Cody is a very feminine and openly gay kid who dates his Ken doll.
  • Cassandra Truth: Junior never believed Cody whenever he said that the Sun was a star and not a planet. Cody was proven right when Junior was sent to the Sun and was killed in the process.
  • Character Development: Starts off as a smart kid with lots of medical disorders; he then becomes flanderized into a gay pervert, and later a Deadpan Snarker, and the voice of reason for both Junior and Joesph. He then later starts to become a bit of a Gadgeteer Genius where his inventions drive the plot. Around 17, he developed more negative qualities such as shades of his perversion back in play but had also become more selfish and prideful and even hypocritical to point that he lacked any compunctions whatsoever about criminal behavior, such as mass rape and attempted murder. This side of him was reverted later on, though. Also, Cody tries to maintaine his perfect imagine; however, his flaws and failing to learn him his mistakes keeps him from moving on.
  • Characterization Marches On: Out of the trio consisting him, Junior and Joseph, Cody is the one that has gone through the most drastic of change since his debut in the Summer School series.
    • While Cody was a classmate of Junior's, he wasn't an especially close friend like Joseph, Tanner, or Toad were, with Junior even trying to copy his test scores and the two rarely even spoke to one another. It was only until the first installment of the Playtime series that he truly became a member of the main cast, and even then, Junior and Joseph weren't that close or even all that friendly towards him, and only reason Junior even let him join them was because Bowser forced him too.
    • Pablo also gave Cody a more nasally voice to reflect his nerdiness (and possibly his other health problems) before switching to a much softer voice, likely reflecting his later character traits.
    • While Cody's perverseness is a huge part of his character nowadays, it's easy to forget that Cody was originally implied to have several problems with his sex organs (Some of which required medications, which that in of itself is rarely brought up either), and while nowadays he almost always gawks over men, Cody was seemingly turned on by Toad's music video in the Summer School series. note
    • He also used to be somewhat level-headed in earlier videos, even when trying to refute Junior's nonsensical claims. Not too much long after that, he would become a lot more easily frustrated when dealing with Junior and Joseph's stupidity and even quick to blow a gasket over something like Nintendo (supposedly) excluding him in any products.
  • Child Mage: He technically counts, though oddly enough, Cody is a more scientific version of this trope, and very rarely does he use his magic at all.
  • Child Prodigy: Cody is very intellegent for his age. He can create machines and is highly intellgent in the terms of math.
  • Chromatic Arrangement: As of "Joseph's New Shell!", he's the Blue to Joseph's Red and Junior's Green.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Is convinced his Ken doll is a real person, and always ignores Joseph when the latter constantly says that Ken is a doll. This once drove him to create a ventriloquists' puppet version of Ken in a vain attempt to convince Junior and Joseph. Said puppet came to life thanks to Cody's wand (turns out it really is magical), and proceeded to go on a murderous rampage.
  • Comic Trio: Whenever there's an argument between him and his friends about the Sun being a planet, he's the one who doesn't agree with Junior.
  • Companion Cube: His Ken doll.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Has started becoming more sarcastic in the 2016 videos towards Junior. Taken full swing in "Cody's Birthday!" in response to Junior and Joseph's teasing.
  • Depraved Homosexual: Non-villainous example, though it goes with him being a Dirty Kid.
  • Dirty Kid: Cody is around Junior's age, yet is extremely perverse.
  • Double Entendre: Cody can't go through an entire video without saying at least one of these phrases.
Cody: Junior, I love Ken. He's my boyfriend. And when we're home alone together, he comes. Alive. Everywhere.
  • Embarrassing Last Name: Up there with Joseph in that department. In "Substitute Teacher!", his last name is revealed to be "Nutkiss", thanks to his mom. Unsurprisingly, Junior and Joseph make fun of it.
  • Extreme Omnisexual: This dude is engaged with a doll, has had sex with a infant female doll, has kissed Joseph and Junior many times, was implied to had sex with them when he froze time with a magical remote, and if he didn't have that Ken Doll, he would've been in a relationship with a girl.
  • Expy: To mirror Junior and Joseph, he's one for Kyle Broflovski from South Park, being the intellegent Jewish kid who is subjected to abuse and fat jokes at his mom's expense, no thanks to Junior.
  • Face–Heel Turn: As of 2018, he started to become even more mean and antagonistic. This was largely reverted by the Puppet era, though.
  • Fatal Flaw: Pride, and Envy. While Cody doesn't brag that often, his self-esteem is rather fragile and he'll often to be reduced to crying swearing fits of rage when Nintendo doesn't use Magikoopas in whatever products that Junior and Joseph are playing with. He tries to be perfect with everything despite he's not.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: The least respected of the trio of friends, as not an episode goes by where Cody isn't ganged up on by the other two.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Has created a few gadgets from electronic toys such as a B-B-B-Baby Machine, a machine that lets you bring something from the dead from a Bop-It toy, a Mebo robot, and a C-C-C-Cloning Machine.
  • Heroic BSoD:
    • In "Broken", Ken breaking in half and "dying" is enough to trigger him into one.
    • In the sequel, "Forsaken", he's reduced to sobbing when he believes Ken prefers Junior over him. He goes into another one at the end of the episode when he thinks Ken prefers Joseph.
    • In "Taken", he starts crying yet again when Ken gets stolen.
    • In "Mistaken", he breaks down when he thinks Ken is stuck on the Moon.
    • The fact that Magikoopa is not featured in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in "Cody's Missing!" is enough to throw him into a raging yet tearful breakdown.
    • Once again, he breaks down in "Sicken" when he finds out that Ken is broken in half, only to quickly go into a murdering spree as soon as he finds out Junior threw Ken out the window.
  • Holier Than Thou: In arguments between him and Junior he is usually put on a higher moral ground (due to being more intelligent than most of the cast) but he has shown to be just as selfish, if not more, as them.
  • Hypocrite:
    • In "The Remote!", he criticizes Junior for going power hungry with the titular device. While Junior does do some jerk moves with the remote, Cody went around raping people for 5 years with the remote earlier.
    • Worse than that is Cody actively trying to kill Chef Pee Pee, Joseph and Bowser despite going out of his way to try to discourage Junior from doing anything reckless that could cost someone their life in videos such as "Evil Chef Pee Pee!" and "The Magical Button!".
    • In "Jeffy's Teddy Bear!", Cody teases Jeffy for bringing Beary, Mario's teddy's bear to school, saying "Who brings a toy to school, you loser?". He says this as he is standing right next to his Ken doll.
    • He dislikes Junior and Joseph trying to date his sister and his mother but he is okay with having sex with Junior's dad, Bowser.
  • Hypocrite Has a Point: Cody is quick to criticize or admonish Junior for doing or even considering something wrong or stupid, particularly if it could kill someone. While it demonstrates Cody's sensible side, he is also guilty of doing wrong too, often for his own benefit.
  • I Banged Your Mom: Gender-Inverted: In "SuperPowers!", and later in " 1, 2 Switch Bodies!", When Cody has Chef Pee Pee's body he has sex with Bowser so Junior can't make fun of him anymore.
  • Jewish and Nerdy: Cody is portrayed as The Smart Guy but he was also raised as a Jew.
  • Jerkass: More recently, he has become rather selfish and petty and is not above doing unethical things to anyone who hasn't done him wrong or even his friends for his own benefit whilst still acting morally superior to Junior.
    • Jerkass Ball:
    • Not too often, but some examples (especially in videos from 2017 to 2019 such as "The Remote!", "Sicken", "Bowser Junior Gets Jinxed!", "Jeffy's 18th Birthday!" and "Jeffy's Teddy Bear!") have shown Cody suddenly as an outright antagonist, just as quickly switching back to his voice of reason role after that.
  • Karma Houdini: Starting in some 2017 videos, his actions have begun to give Junior and Jeffy, even at their most unpunished, a run for their money. In "The Remote!", he manages to get away with committing a five-year-long mass serial rape while time froze (aside from a light Humiliation Conga at the hands of Junior using the remote) and in "Sicken", he graduates to straight up attempted murder but also never pays for it.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
    • His — ahem — messed up actions finally paid off in "Cody The Vampire!" when Junior and Joseph trick him into making out with Ken, whom they smeared garlic on, which resulted in Cody dying from an allergic reaction.
    • His wish to turn everyone gay in "The Lamp!" is undone by Junior wishing everything back to normal, despite his protests.
    • In "Jeffy Gets Framed!", he is the first to be subject to Jeffy's vindictive pranks after he, Joseph and Junior blame him for breaking a vase.
  • Manly Gay: Certainly thinks he is that.
  • Masculine–Feminine Gay Couple: The masculine to Timmy's feminine. Cody acts less of a female than his boyfriend does.
  • Narcissist: It's subtle, but Cody seems to think very highly of himself, constantly saying he's hunky and throwing hissy fits whenever he's not included in Nintendo merchandise (which goes so far that he talks shit about them in a diss track in "Cody's Amiibo!"), saying that his amiibo should've been the first one Nintendo made, because Magikoopas are Bowser's second-in command. While he is technically correct about that part, it's obvious Cody is just using that as a crutch in order to justify his ego.
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: In "Cody's Sister!", he does not approve of Junior and Joseph trying to date Katy.
  • Never My Fault: In "Finders Keepers!", Cody scolds Junior for the latter's failed attempt to make up for wasting the $30,000 meant to help a kid in need of a heart transplant even though he spent a third of the money on laser eye surgery and suggested splitting it amongst him and his friends in the first place.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: Despite him being a pervert, it's clear that he was the Nice to Junior's Mean and Joseph's in-between, since he's usually the smartest, sanest, and calmest of the three. However, in later videos, he and Junior have traded roles as Junior is generally playful and frequently shows his nicer side as opposed to Cody becoming more and more of an immature jerk who can be completely criminally insane at his worst.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Twice in the "The Bake Sale!", in where he beats up Junior after the latter threw away the cookies he baked and a second one after he had enough of Junior's stupidity, and then after he found out Junior had spent $100 on already baked cookies.
  • Only Sane Man: Despite being very perverted and gay, it's clear he's this compared to Junior and Joseph, mostly when the latter can't keep up.
  • Official Couple: With Timmy as of "Cody's Love Triangle".
  • Out-of-Character Moment: He goes through this in "Broken", "Forsaken", "Taken", "Mistaken", "Sicken" and "Bowser Junior Gets Jinxed!".
  • Pædo Hunt: Implied in "The Baby Project!". When Jackie Chu reveals that the babies have built-in cameras, he checks Cody and Joseph's video and although it isn't shown, the oddly sexual audio says it all. Sure, it's just a doll (Cody even admits he has a thing for dolls, though that is hardly an excuse), but it is still the creepiest thing Cody has ever done so far.
  • Pink Girl, Blue Boy: The Blue Boy to his twin sister, Katy's Pink Girl.
  • Plot Allergy: In "Cody The Vampire!", he is revealed to have an allergy to garlic, which Junior and Joseph later take advantage by rubbing garlic on Ken's mouth, causing him to die from an allergic reaction.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He's the Blue to Junior and Joseph's Red.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here:
    • After he loses in a board game, Junior and Joseph force Cody to eat dog poop in a dare. Cody claims he's going to get a cup of water before eating, when in reality he simply leaves Junior's house.
    • Also done in "Evil Chef Pee Pee!" in where Cody leaves Joseph and Junior on their own after they refuse to listen to him to not hit Chef Pee Pee with a frozen water balloon, which got Chef Pee Pee killed.
  • Second Place Is for Losers: Cody takes second place way out of hand. He see that being second place makes him a loser. In "Cody's Report Card" when he got his grades mostly "A"s until he saw one "B," he breaks down crying.
  • Send in the Clones: In "SuperPowers 2" he gains the ability to duplicate himself.
  • Serial Rapist: In "The Remote!", Cody freezes time and rapes Chef Pee Pee, Junior, Joseph, Ken, and it's safe to say plenty of other characters for five years. Oh, and he even claimed that he raped himself. He's lucky that time was frozen, otherwise, he's looking at several life sentences.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: The Sensitive Guy to Joseph's Manly Man.
  • Shout-Out: His old voice tone partly resembled that of Mr. Crocker.
  • Shrinking Violet: In "Cool Cody!", it is revealed that he has social anxiety, which makes him wheeze uncontrollably.
  • Sibling Seniority Squabble: In "Cody's Sister!", Cody is revealed to be twelve seconds older than his twin sister, Katy.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Played with. Magikoopas are some of the most iconic enemies in the Mario franchise, which Cody always brings up whenever Nintendo doesn't include him in something. However, for as recognizable as they are, Magikoopas aren't quite on the same level as villains like Junior and the Koopa Troopas (the latter of which is what Joseph is), so it's easy to understand why Nintendo doesn't use them that often.
  • Teeny Weenie: In the "Bowser Junior's Summer School" series, he sometimes implies he has a tiny elephant.
  • The Smart Guy: The most intelligent kid in the series.
  • The Stoic: After he gets turned into a corn dog in "Bowser Junior's Curse!".
  • Theme Twin Naming: In "Cody's Sister!", he is revealed to have a twin sister named Katy.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: With many other SML characters, he has died multiple times, only to return without explanation in the next episode.
    • He drowns after diving in the pool in "Bowser Junior's Pool Party". He later appears in The Stinger for that episode, wherein he explains to the viewers that he didn't actually die and he will be appearing in the following video.
    • Averted in "Bowser Junior's Lightsaber!", where Cody gets his head sliced off, yet he survives somehow.
    • In "The Ouija Board!", he gets killed by the Ouija demon alongside his friends and Chef Pee Pee.
    • In "The Gun!", Junior and Joseph accidentally shoot Cody with the titular gun while they were trying to clean their fingerprints from the murder weapon.
    • In "Bowser Junior's 8th Birthday!", he gets eaten alive by the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza animatronics alongside Chef Pee Pee, Joseph and Brooklyn T. Guy.
    • In "Loch Ness Monster!", Junior's house and the surrounding neighborhood are nuked after the Loch Ness Monster is revealed to be real.
    • In "The Magical Button!", he dies after Junior uses the titular button to wish for a bag of gummies.
    • In "Jeffy's Taco Tuesday!", he is caught in an explosion after Jeffy throws his taco bombs on the couch.
    • In "Cody The Vampire!", he chokes to death after having an allergic reaction to garlic thanks to Junior and Joseph. It's safe to say that this one totally paid off for all the bad things he has done recently.
  • Token Good Teammate: Subverted. While Cody was initially portrayed as more laid-back and sensible (albeit nerdy) compared to the more boisterous Junior and Joseph when they became mainstay characters, he later began to act more perverted, selfish and outright hypocritical to the point of occasionally engaging in (or attempting) very unsavoury things.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Has started to become much more antagonistic in 2017.
  • Twice Shy: One-sided. He openly develops feelings for Timmy after he chewed down a four foot long hotdog, however Timmy denies his homosexuality out of fear.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: In "SuperPowers!", he gains the ability to morph into anything just by thinking of it after being struck by lightning.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: The Serious Child to his parents' Wacky Parents, and that's saying something.
  • With Friends Like These...:
    • While Cody suffers a heap of abuse and bullying at the hands of Junior and Joseph, there are times where he is on the giving end, such as "Bowser Junior Gets Jinxed!".
    • In "Jeffy Gets Framed!", he helps Junior and Joseph blame Jeffy for breaking the vase. Worse, Cody doesn't refuse to participate (as he probably would otherwise) nor urge his friends to confess they were responsible until Jeffy gets revenge on him using Ken.

[[quoteright:658:Click here for his puppet form

A black-skinned Yoshi who spends his time playing Call of Duty, drinking Kool-Aid, and eating fried chicken. He is one of Mario's friends.

  • Abusive Dad: In "Black Yoshi's Kids!", he calls his biological son a mistake, throws him in the trash, and outright tries to kill him by throwing him out a window, making it very clear he'd rather play Call of Duty than take care of a child. Then he learns that he gets more money from welfare because of his son, so he goes to the nearby park and kidnaps 24 babies to defraud the government. He even goes as far as to give the babies new names as if they were his own, such as "Big Bwah", "Fried Chickenisha", "Rock Paper Scissina", and even "Shatananananananananananananana Batman", and starts deciding which careers they'll have whether they like it or not. When Brooklyn T. Guy finds out he has a biological son, he can't bring himself to arrest him, but Black Yoshi begs to be arrested because he hates his son that much.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Black Yoshi is VERY different from the Yoshis from the games; while Yoshi normally is very kind to Mario, helpful, and has a cute personality, he is a blatant Anti-Role Model: he constantly tries to get Mario to give him money, commited many crimes (stealing many things on Black Friday thinking they're free, scamming many people out of $1,000,000 with a fake GoFundMe page...) and is generally very petty and unfriendly, even refusing to take care of his son (even throwing him out the window at one point). Black Yoshi also occasionally threatens to shoot people with his glock, something the real Yoshis would NEVER do.
  • Anti-Hero: A stereotypical black thug who still helps out Mario from time to time.
  • Anti-Role Model: A stupid, unpleasant, law breaking deadbeat who dropped out of fourth grade, mooches off of his friend, is willing to throw him under the bus if it benefits him, and has no intention of paying child support. In short, a perfect example of who not to act like in the real world.
  • Basement-Dweller: He more or less leeches off of Mario.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Anything, and we mean ANYTHING, related to Call of Duty and/or his Xbox One:
      • Never mess with his Call of Duty or ask him to play 2 Player. Countless characters have pushed this one.
      • Don't demean Call of Duty either. He got notably offended when Mario dismissed it as stupid.
      • If you know what's good for you, you won't destroy his Xbox One. Dream!Jeffy found that out the hard way in "Jeffy's Mistake!".
      • Scamming him (even if done indirectly) will have your life cut short. He shoots Toad to death for giving him empty PlayStation 4 and Xbox One boxes and an Xbox One controller in the form of a keychain.
      • Do not mess with his KD (Kills and Deaths). Junior pressed this one and got an... unwelcome visit from a very angry Black Yoshi.
    • Don't ever think of pranking him. He'll definitely shoot you.
  • Big "NO!": When he finds out the new Call of Duty is out of stock in "Black Yoshi The Assistant!" thanks to Bowser Junior buying the last one.
  • Bullying a Dragon: He scammed Mr. Goodman out of his credit number, which he used to buy stuff. Goodman didn't let it slide, to say the least.
  • Catchphrase: "Mario please!" and "But Mario..."
  • Characterization Marches On: Black Yoshi was best known for his gangster attitude and enjoyed using his firearm, with his stereotypical obsessions just being his side traits. In later episodes, his low intelligence became his primary character trait along with his speech impediment and love for Call of Duty, fried chicken, and Kool-Aid.
  • Demoted to Extra: Was originally a major character, but he doesn't appear as often as before since Jeffy's debut. He outright disappeared for most of 2020 and 2021 in the wake of the George Floyd protests, as much of Black Yoshi's character consists of exaggerated African-American stereotypes, as well as the cease and desist order from Nintendo.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: This guy has issues.
    • In "Black Yoshi April Fools", he kills Mario over pranking him.
    • Episode 1 of Baby Shrek has him killing Mario (again) simply because the latter told him to keep his stuff away from Shrek Junior.
    • In "Toad Mistake 2", he shoots and later nukes Toad, just because he wanted to play Call of Duty.
    • In "Toad's Stupid Idea", Black Yoshi beats up Toad after learning that the latter sold his brand new Call of Duty and threatens to kill him if he doesn't get it back.
    • In "The Call of Duty Blackout", Black Yoshi shoots "Charlie Brown 678" (Joseph) to death because the latter paid The Rat to cut the wires at Mario's house causing a blackout. Even Mario points out this was a bit too much over a blackout.
      • Also, from the same episode, he kills Brooklyn T. Guy's son, because the latter wants to buy Black Yoshi's copy of Call of Duty immediately upon seeing it.
    • He nearly kills Toad in "Black Yoshi's In Trouble!", because the latter ate his chicken, until Mario stops him from doing so.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Job", when he has to babysit Bowser Junior, he pulls out his gun and shoots Junior's toys when Junior makes him play with one tiny dinosaur against his many bigger ones. He also threatens to pull out his gun again when Junior won't let him play with his Thomas & Friends toy, and even shoots Toad when they play doctor. He also ties up Junior, due to the latter wanting to play Call of Duty.
    • In "Luigi's Mansion Episode 4", he threw a bomb at Toad for shutting down his Xbox. Toad somehow survives the blast.
    • In "The Call of Duty Problem", Junior kills him in a game of Call of Duty, then is dumb enough to tell him his address. Black Yoshi responds by destroying Junior's Xbox One and stealing his Thomas toy.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Fried Chicken", he threatens to kill Mario if he doesn't get him new fried chicken to eat.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Call of Duty: Black Ops III!", when Mario buys him a Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Wii U bundlenote  instead of the PS4 bundle, Black Yoshi destroys the Wii U by shooting it with a crossbow and threatens to kill Mario if he doesn't get him the PS4 bundle.
    • In "Jeffy's Mistake!", he tied Jeffy up and stuffed a grenade in his mouth when the latter destroyed his Xbox One by tossing it out a three-story window after dying in a game of Grand Theft Auto.
    • In "Black Yoshi The Assistant!", he kills Junior after getting aggressively tired of his orders.
  • The Ditz: He's one of the dumbest characters in the series, rivaling Jeffy and Junior and may be even dumber than both of them combined . He constantly mispronounces words, even very simple words, to the point that almost every other sentence he says has a grammar problem in it. He also can't tell coal from burnt chicken, thinks that a sprinkler system will stop a burglary, doesn't know how a popsicle is generally servednote , and is dumb enough to think there is a law that prevents the police from searching your socks and Black Friday is a day where everything is free for African Americans as a way of reimbursing them for the slavery years. He can't read, spell, or count, has trouble memorizing simple combinations like 1 2 3 4, confuses letters with numbers, and generally displays a lack of understanding of even basic common sense. "Jeffy's Lunch Money" implies that he's even dumber than Jeffy, as Jackie Chu's reactions to his stupidity while he was impersonating Jeffy in school imply that "Jeffy" was acting even dumber than usual.
  • Domestic Abuse: He will hit his girlfriends if they don't do as he says. This is what causes Delilah to break up with him in "Black Yoshi's Girlfriend Problem!".
  • Establishing Character Moment: In Black Yoshi's debut "Mario and Luigi's stupid and dumb adventures. Season 2 Episode 3", the very first thing he does is murder Toad.
  • Greed: He's very greedy and often steals.
  • The Gunslinger: Carries a HUGE GUN (from a plush toy's perspective) that's larger than he is.
  • Heroic BSoD: He suffers two in "Black Yoshi's In Trouble!", one where he's forced to share his chicken with Toad and another one while working at McAdolf's and getting stupid customers like Tyrone.
    • In "Black Yoshi The Assistant!", he's mentally broken nearby the end of the video after Junior kept calling him all night.
  • Implausible Deniability: In "Black Yoshi's kids", he tries to claim that his son isn't related to him despite them looking exactly alike. Even after he stops trying to deny that he's the father, he still claims the child looks nothing like him, using that as a reason to hate him.
  • Insane Troll Logic: He tends to operate on this. He thinks that police aren't allowed to search your socks and everything is free for black people on Black Friday.
  • Irony: Despite the fact that the character Yoshi is owned by Nintendo, Black Yoshi is more fond of Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
  • Jerkass: He constantly breaks laws and steals, leeches off of Mario, whines when things don't go his way, never shows true remorse for his actions, will commit murder for petty reasons, and isn't above throwing Mario under the bus and framing him for his own crimes.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While Black Yoshi is no saint and often treats everybody horribly, some of the things his friends do to him are why it is somewhat understandable to feel sorry for him at times. One example is in "Black Yoshi's Bad Deal", where Black Yoshi tells Toad he has to get him something in exchange for giving up his glock to him.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: In the early videos, Black Yoshi sometimes shows sympathy towards Mario and the rest of their friends, regardless of his antics as he once saved Mario from getting killed by Bowser.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Sure, there are the few occasions where he'll help out Mario — but "few" is there for a reason. Even after helping Mario get together with Rosalina in "Mario's New Girlfriend!", he knowingly jeopardizes Mario's second attempt at proposing to her in "Black Yoshi's Mistake!", and only tries to make things right because Mario threatened to kick him out.
  • Karma Houdini: In "Black Yoshi's Blank Check!", he fills out a blank check he was sent for one million dollars, and spends the stolen money how he likes, despite multiple warnings not to from Mario. He later plays a real-life version of Call of Duty with Tyrone, kills him, and hides his dead body and the stolen money in Mario's couch. After Mario tells the Brooklyn Guy what really happened after lying to save Black Yoshi from being arrested, Black Yoshi does not take any responsibility for his actions, nor does he show any remorse for them, and Mario is sent to jail.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Luckly in newer videos, he tends to get his just desserts more often in the end.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Mistake!", he sells Mario's engagement ring for a new Xbox. Take a guess at what happens to his new Xbox at the end of the episode.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Call Of Duty Loan!", he refuses to pay back Brooklyn Guy after Guy helps him buy the latest Call Of Duty. Karma comes back to bite him in more ways than one.
    • In "How Black Yoshi Stole Christmas!", he puts Windex in Santa's milk to knock him out and steal his presents. Mario makes him come along with him to try and deliver the presents as punishment. Also, when Santa comes back to life, he (along with Mario) only receives coal for Christmas.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Big Bamboozle!", he pays a hefty price for scamming people out of their credit card numbers; he receives a "package" from a supremely angry Goodman, who takes all his stuff before devouring his nipples for good measure. When he decides to steal from anyone who isn't Goodman, Brooklyn T. Guy and Judy, two of his equally pissed off victims, show up at Mario's house to predictably give him his due.
  • Manchild: Black Yoshi is very childish. He can't even read, constantly begs for new game consoles like some sort of child, and mooches off of Mario as if he was a child.
  • Neet: He doesn't have a job and spends most of the day playing Call of Duty, his favorite game.
  • Never My Fault: Always blames the police for arresting him when he commits crimes, thinking they're arresting him simply because he's black.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: He hates white people.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: Treats Call of Duty — and Xbox One in general — as Serious Business. Best demonstrated in "Jeffy's Mistake!": After Jeffy freaks out (what a surprise) and destroys Black Yoshi's Xbox One, Black Yoshi returns the favor with some There Is No Kill Like Overkill of his own. After Jeffy is grounded for his and Black Yoshi's scheme in "Jeffy The Good Boy!", Black Yoshi even asks Mario if he's grounded too, to which Mario answers yes.
  • Put on a Bus: After trying to steal packages from peoples' front doors in "Jeffy's Car Accident", he is charged with grand theft and tampering with the mail, the bail worth $45,000. Mario fails to obtain the money necessary to free him, so it's likely that Black Yoshi will remain in prison until either Mario gets the money or Black Yoshi serves his sentence... or, he will simply fade away like many a character before him, such as Woody, Chompy, etc.
  • Spoiled Brat: A surprisingly rare adult version of this trope. He always begs for Mario to get him a new Call of Duty game.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Because he isn't already a crazy criminal to begin with.
    • Black Yoshi borrows $5,000 from the Loan Dolphin and expects a welfare check to pay it off, to list one example.
    • Not being able to do math or anything educational in general is why he has a low IQ and causes a lot of trouble for everybody.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: In 2017, he became even more stupid than he already was, namely relying even more on Insane Troll Logic, and gaining his own distinct dialect involving putting an "s" at the end of many words and mangling words, sometimes insisting they mean something else entirely. He is also completely illiterate (unless it's written in the aforementioned dialect), and can't count, and his crimes became more and more petty.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Well OK, not by much. He's still a total prick and does break the law for his own benefit (with many of his crimes being the focus of entire videos), but throughout most of the 2014-present era, he's mostly just been mooching off of Mario whenever a new Call of Duty game comes out, and has used his gun a lot less frequently than he used to due to the use of realistic firearms getting videos demonetized. Even if he does shoot someone, he just doesn't use his old Nintendo gun to do it. And even if he does commit a crime, it's often either offscreen or a lot tamer than what he used to do, which is a way larger contrast in comparison to his earlier self, who would drop nukes on people and shoot people over the most minor of things.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Kool-Aid. Grape Kool-Aid to be exact. And he also likes fried chicken and watermelons a lot too. In "Black Yoshi's in Trouble!", to help Mario reform him, Craig the Devil informs him that there is no Kool-Aid or fried chicken in Hell.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: In "Black Yoshi's Birthday", Mario tried his best to give Black Yoshi a birthday complete with watermelon decorations, and KFC and purple kool-aid as gifts, but all Black Yoshi wants is money, and he complains and yells at Mario when he doesn't get it.
  • Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist: He's a Jerkass who regularly takes advantage of Mario and would do things like kill Toad just because he played his game of Call Of Duty.
  • Verbal Tic: Constantly says "folk".
  • With Friends Like These...: He essentially mooches off of and exploits Mario despite all the nice things Mario has done for him, like give him food and shelter and hide him from the police when he commits crimes.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Completely disappeared after the newest SML channel and the cease and desist. He returned in "It's Ya Boy Duggie", completely retconned as Booger's cousin who stays at the SML house to keep Booger in check, but still has the same personality.
  • Would Hurt a Child:
    • In "Jeffy's Mistake!", he kills Jeffy just because the latter destroyed his Xbox One. Subverted when it was all Mario's dream.
    • In "The Call Of Duty Blackout", he kills Brooklyn T. Guy's son, just because he wanted to buy Black Yoshi's copy of Call of Duty.
    • In "Black Yoshi The Assistant!", he kills Junior after the latter asks him to wipe his bottom following the former being mentally broken by his demands.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Kids!", he wants nothing to do with his son and even throws him off a balcony at one point.

Real Name: Shrek Safe Cheesecake III

A green ogre who is addicted to cheesecake and takes many craps. He is one of Mario's roommates.

  • Acquired Poison Immunity: The diabetes he got from eating nothing but cheesecake has made him immune to diabetes.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Shrek could be something of a curmudgeon in the films, but for all those moments, it's clear that his heart is firmly in the right place. Here, he's a mooching slob who consistently leaves Mario to deal with his messes. On the other hand, this could be an unintentional case of Truer to the Text as he was no saint in the original book.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Don't ever eat his cheesecake; he'll kill you.
    • As depicted in SML Movie: Shrek's Endless Cheesecake!, don't ever say you hate cheesecake, or anything along those lines.
  • Big Eater: And not just cheesecake, but he once ate an entire Thanksgiving feast in one sitting. He also once ate an entire plate of raw hot dogs in a contest against Cody.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: How else do you describe someone who spends most of their life eating cheesecake on the toilet and calling everyone "Donkey"?
  • A Day in the Limelight: After starting to decrease in appearances, and getting his and Black Yoshi's roles replaced by Jeffy, he finally gets a major appearance in "Shrek The Babysitter!".
  • Demoted to Extra: Was originally a major character, but has been seen less and less due to the demand for more Jeffy videos and supposedly violating YouTube's TOS with his excessive Toilet Humor.
  • Disproportionate Retribution:
    • Shrek once tricked Mario into eating his feces just because Mario didn't bring him toilet paper. He has also murdered Toad for eating his cheesecake.
    • In "The Bird!", he kills Skittles the bird, just because she ate his food.
    • In "Shrek's Endless Cheesecake", he tries to choke out Rose twice after she says that she doesn't like cheesecake.
  • Gasshole: He also likes to fart a lot.
  • Get Out!: Receives this from Principal Steinbeck after asking him if he can have cheesecake in Summer School. He naturally obliges.
    • Gets this again from Mario in "The Couch!" after accidentally crapping all over the eponymous furniture. Mario eventually changes his mind though.
  • Good Parents: Probably his only redeeming quality, he's a decent father with his cloned son, Shrek Jr. Given his competition, that's certainly a feat to be commended.
  • Green Is Gross: Similar to his canon movie counterpart, he has green skin and many gross habits. This incarnation spends a lot of his time farting, defecating in Mario's toilet, and eating cheesecake without washing his hands first.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: "The Couch!" establishes that for how much he mistreats Mario, he still genuinely considers him a close friend and is miserable without him.
  • Lazy Bum: Spends all day on the toilet eating cheesecake and doesn't seem to have a job.
  • Malicious Misnaming:
    • He has called Chef Pee Pee names such as Chef Pee Hole, Chef Weiner, Chef Penis, Chef Cock, and Chef Donkey.
    • He also frequently calls Mario "Donkey". Exaggerated in "Shrek's Crappy Wish", wherein Mario refuses to get him more toilet paper unless he calls him by his real name. Despite this, Shrek still calls him "Donkey", claiming that he read it off Mario's driver's license and birth certificate.
      • Not only Mario, he also somehow takes the hobby to call everyone "Donkey", adding words to some names to not confuse it with what he calls Mario.
Shrek: I'll be watching you Little Donkeys while Donkey takes Black Donkey to see a Police Donkey.
  • Manchild: He may be a fully grown ogre, but he often acts like a spoiled child demanding Mario to get stuff for him while he sits on the toilet all day.
  • Never My Fault: He blames Mario for his own faults, such as clogging up the toilet and using all the toilet paper.
  • Our Ogres Are Hungrier: Considering that Shrek Jr. turns out alright even when he eats cheesecake, this implies that all ogres in the SML-verse do need to eat some cheesecake for sustenance (though in Shrek's case, he eats too much of it).
  • Put on a Bus: While his apperances were already sporadic, he seems to have been quietly written out after the C&D. And unless Logan intends on having a puppet made of him as well, it's likely to stay that way.
  • Toilet Humor: And he literally spends most of his time on a toilet as well. In fact, this is how his Put on a Bus status is explained away.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Three words — Sara Lee cheesecake. In "Shrek's Diet!", it is revealed that he's had so much of it, his veins are filled with Velveeta cheese instead of blood, and his body has built up an immunity to diabetes.
  • Truer to the Text: An unintentional example. While he's far from the Jerk with a Heart of Gold from the Dreamworks films (though he still has his rare moments of kindness in the SML-verse), Shrek is closer to how he was originally depicted in William Steig 1990's book, Shrek.
  • Uncleanliness Is Next to Ungodliness: It's one thing to be a co-dependent slob, and a whole other thing to be a co-dependent slob who never, ever learns to clean up after himself.
  • Verbal Tic: He calls everyone "Donkey".
  • With Friends Like These...: Despite Mario letting him stay at his house, Shrek tends to treat Mario very poorly, always clogging up his toilet, begging him to buy him more toilet paper and cheesecake, and getting his possessions very dirty at times.

    Brooklyn T. Guy
Voiced by: Chris "Pablo" Netherton
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/280db653_25e2_46e9_b9f6_c7db09bdf20f.png

A sarcastic man from Brooklyn who has a lot of jobs; these include firefighter, exterminator, animal wrangler, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? host, and part-time police officer.

  • Abusive Parents: Of the emotional variety towards his daughter Penelope. Brooklyn is usually portrayed as being oblivious at best and outright negligent and apathetic at worst when it comes to her needs — when she appeared to be kidnapped in "Penelope Gets Taken", Brooklyn doesn't even seem to know what's happened half the time, and even when he does, he doesn't seem to particularly care at all.
  • Ascended Extra: He hasn't been heard of since his first appearance, but he has returned in "Bowser Junior's Summer School 5" and is now a recurring character and even that's an understatement.note  As of the 2020's, he's become the most featured character on the show.
  • Awful Wedded Life: He speaks very negatively about his former marriage whenever he brings it up, and his current one is just as dreadful.
  • Big Damn Heroes: In both "Jeffy's Parents!" and "The Secret Door!", both of which are Wham Episodes.
  • Breakout Character: He made his debut in the series' early years and immediately disappeared for three years. He makes a come back in "Bowser Junior's Summer School 5" and started to make recurring appearances in the main videos. Because fans kept loving him, he began showing up regularly. After a while, his importance was on par with Mario, Junior, and Jeffy, and eventually, he became one of the main protagonists alongside them, with many videos as of late focusing on him specifically.
  • Brooklyn Rage: Subverted. While you could figure his name Brooklyn is just a normal name, it's also implied he lives there and he has the accent, but isn't bad tempered (sometimes, but Depending on the Writer).
  • Butt-Monkey: It crops up a lot whenever he's paired alongside Karen and/or his family. One notable example was in "The Mustache Problem!", where he goes through a lot of hell after accidentally shaving off his mustache.
  • Call-Back: In "Bowser Junior's Lottery Ticket!", he wins one billion dollars. In "The 1UP!", its revealed that he wasted it all on a plane that crashed into a school.
  • Character Catchphrase / Mad Libs Catchphrase: Whenever he shows up at the house, the first thing he will usually say is, "Hey there, somebody call a [job/profession]?" with said job changing depending on the needs of the video.
  • Characterization Marches On: In his earlier years, Brooklyn was much more sardonic and surly, resenting his status as an Only Sane Man and getting into the messy situations of the main characters. In recent times, he's loosened up a bit and is more willing to associate with them, if still a bit sarcastic.
  • Child Hater:
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Following his first appearance, he wasn't seen again until "Bowser Junior's Summer School 5", released about three years after his debut.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He's a sarcastic man in a crazy world.
  • Didn't Think This Through: One of Brooklyn's biggest flaws usually gets him into serious trouble and after it bites him in the ass; however, like Junior, he never learns from his mistakes.
  • Dirty Cop: Zig-zagged. "Jeffy's Drivers License!" shows him accepting a bribe from Goodman so the latter can shoot Mario's driver's license into space simply over an extremely minor incident. And he does so without a second thought. At the same time, though, he allows Jeffy to take a driving test so Jeffy can drive Mario for a month until Mario can apply for a new license. In "Black Yoshi's Kids!", however, he outright refuses Black Yoshi's bribe. This suggests that he either had to accept Goodman's bribe or the latter would do something horrible to him, or the chief of police caught wind of him accepting bribes without a second thought and gave him a severe reprimand.
  • Disproportionate Retribution:
    • In "The Purge!", he murders his wife over making him fail his attempt at shooting Junior.
    • In "Bowser Junior Goes to Military School! Part 1", he makes his students do push-ups whenever they talk back to him, and he even squirts hot sauce in Junior's eyes just from the latter failing a task.
    • In "Bowser Junior Goes To The Sun!", he sends Junior to the Sun in order to get him off the planet, and literally out of existence, just because Junior believes the Sun is a planet.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: In "Bowser Junior Goes to Military School! Part 1", Brooklyn makes his students do push-ups whenever they talk back to him, go through an obstacle course with barbed wire and land mines ten times a day, whip them with barbed wire, squirt hot sauce in their eyes, and make them watch Big Hero 6.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": When nobody knew his real name at first.
  • Everyone Has Standards: In "Bowser Junior Goes to Military School! Part 1", he tells Junior that if he doesn't grab the bar and pull himself over, he'll whip every single one of his students with barbed wire. When he sees that one of the students is a black kid, he doesn't go through with it, and tells Junior he'll squirt hot sauce in everyone's eyes instead.
    • In "The Secret Door!", after shooting and killing Does Bad Things Guy, he is horrified by what's behind the titular door, calling it really messed up.
  • Evil All Along: Subverted in "The Secret Door!". It was actually his twin brother, DoesBadThings Guy.
  • Fanboy: In more recent videos, he is shown to obsess over the NBA Miami Heat and their player Jimmy Butler in particular, to the point where in multiple videos he would rather watch them play live than actually work. On one occasion, he even spends half his life savings on a Game 6 ticket to see the Miami Heat beat the Boston Celtics (they didn't), and then proceeds to spend the other half on Game 7.
  • Fantastic Racism: Zig zagged. On one hand, he seems OK with having Thanksgiving dinner alongside a family of aliens ("Turkey Tyranny!") and was willing to save the life of an ogre despite having little knowledge of their anatomy or how to treat them ("Shrek's Diet!"). However, he does call Junior, Cody and Joseph (who are all turtles) "a bunch of freaks" and kicks them out of his car in "Bowser Junior Sneaks Into A Movie!". What sort of species he is racist against seems to depend on the episode or possibly some unknown standards he has.
  • His Name Really Is "Barkeep": His real name is "Brooklyn T. Guy". In "The New House!", he is implied to be part of the Guy family, and has brothers with first names such as "This", "What", "The", "A", "Chicago", "Manhattan", "San Francisco", "Miami", "Philadelphia" and "Frank" (just "Frank"). Oh, and "Does Bad Things" and "Does Good Things".
  • Hey, You!: Despite mentioning his name numerous times, most of the characters almost never call him Brooklyn Guy, despite having not only his number, but also meeting up with him in almost every episode.
  • Humiliation Conga: In "Jeffy Gets Stream Sniped!", after stream-sniping Jeffy in Fortnite, he gets sniped with a Nerf gun many times, the TV freezes when watching a basketball game he anticipated and he is physically restrained by Jeffy so Cody can break the orange juice-drinking world record he previously set. Needless to say, unlike in many episodes, it's both deserved and amusing.
  • Hypocrite: This is one of Brooklyn's biggest flaws.
  • Idiot Ball: He can sometimes catch the ball in some appearances such as "The Pizza Delivery!", "Chef Pee Pee Quits! Part 2", "Jeffy's Birthday!", and especially "Jeffy's Wifi Problem!".
  • Inspector Lestrade: Unlike Goodman, who was quick to arrest Mario out of sheer spite, Brooklyn Guy doesn't have anything against Mario, and is simply going off of what Mario is accused of. Not that he's any better as his job given what happens in "Jeffy's Bad Word!" and "Locked Out!", and while not as biased as Goodman, makes some pretty broad assumptions (Such as thinking Mario is a child molester solely based on his moustache.)
  • Jerkass: This is shown when he complains to the other characters in "Bowser's House Fire!" and "The Call Of Duty Blackout"*. He'll also sometimes refuse to help Mario or Junior with their problems and insult everyone around him.
  • Jerkass to One: Downplayed. While Brooklyn is hardly nice to begin with, he can at least be somewhat friendly towards some of the other Only Sane Men of the cast, such as Marvin and Chef Pee Pee. However, when it comes to Rose, he is almost never kind to her whatsoever and is not afraid to essentually bully her when he's in her presence. Given just what kind of person Rose is, he has plenty of good reasons not to like her and not many people hold it against him.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Abrasiveness and selfishness aside, he sometimes acts as a decent guy.
  • Like Father, Like Son: More like Mother, like Son, Despite the two don't love each other. Brooklyn inherited some of his mother's bad habits and bad parenting.
  • Manchild: As of 2018, this has cropped up as yet another way he screws over Mario. In "Jeffy's Birthday Surprise!", he intentionally ruins Jeffy's birthday since Mario didn't wish him a happy birthday and in "Jeffy's Drivers License!", part of the driving test has him acting like a bratty kid demanding a Happy Meal only to fail Jeffy just because the Happy Meal didn't come with a toy. This personality trait has also become more prominent as of 2023. Need you be reminded that he's a grown man?
  • No Name Given: Though he claims his real name isn't important. In "Bowser Junior Loses Thomas!", he works as a Toys R Us employee. When Chef Pee Pee asks him where his name tag is, he states that he doesn't have a name tag because he doesn't have a name. It's later confirmed that his full name is Brooklyn T. Guy.
  • New Job as the Plot Demands: He has over 30 different jobs.
  • Only Sane Man: He plays this role most of the time.
  • Police Are Useless: Brooklyn is usually a wretched excuse for a cop whenever it's his job. Not only is he prone to shirking his duties for personal gain or on flimsy reasoning (i.e. Not arresting Jeffy in "Jeffy's Speeding Ticket" because of Mario lamenting over Jeffy going to jail, even though that clearly hasn't stopped Jeffy from doing more bad things before and since then), he'll also allow others to bribe him with money and he has twice taken stuff he otherwise accused Black Yoshi of stealing. Worse yet, he has also arrested others (especially Mario) without due process, and in one instance outright murdered them (shooting Junior in "Pinch! Pinch! Pinch!" for, well, pinching him).
    • He also thought Mario raped Jeffy without any actual proof. Mario's attempts to explain what really happened only results in him being accused of rape, as well as child abuse and vehicular assault, while also being humiliated on a global scale.
  • Rambunctious Italian: Although it's unconfirmed, he looks, sounds, and acts very much like a stereotypical Italian-American New Yorker.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Blue to Mr. Goodman's Red.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: As of 2017, he is slowly starting to become this.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: With many other SML characters, he has died multiple times, only to return without explanation in the next episode.
    • in "Bowser Junior Goes to Disney World! Part 2", Mickey Mouse kills him when he thinks Brooklyn sold a free toy to Junior.
    • In "The Purge!", he gets shot by Chef Pee Pee while they argue on who will kill Junior.
    • In "Pop Rocks and Coke!", his head explodes after telling Junior that he did the Pop Rocks and Coke trick when he was 19.
    • In "Evil Chef Pee Pee!", he gets shot by evil Chef Pee Pee after the latter steals his gun.
    • In "Bowser Junior's 8th Birthday!", he gets eaten alive by the Freddy Fazbear's Pizza animatronics alongside Junior's friends and Chef Pee Pee.
    • In "The Magical Button!", he dies after Junior uses the titular button to wish for a golden fidget spinner.
    • In "Jeffy Loses His Head!", after he and Marvin go back to the past to prevent Jeffy's death, Brooklyn has his younger self killed to avoid having two of him running around at the same time.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: He eventually became almost as dumb and gullible as the other characters.
  • Vocal Evolution: He had a much thicker Brooklyn accent back then.
  • Would Hurt a Child:
    • He has tortured Junior repeatedly in the Bowser Junior Goes To Military School! series, to the point of having Junior broken both physically and mentally.
      • Not only that, but he has also tortured some other students and even ended up killing them with land mines. Out of all the students who were enrolled in military school, only Junior survived, and he didn't look too pretty when he came back home.
    • Additionally, he actually sends Junior to the Sun to get him killed just because he's offended by Junior believing the Sun is a planet.
    • He also tried to help Chef Pee Pee kill Junior in the "The Purge!".
    • In "Pinch! Pinch! Pinch!", he ends up shooting Junior just because the latter won't stop pinching him over not wearing green.
    • In "Jeffy's Sleepover!", he states he had strangled a kid for refusing to hand him the second bag of Cheez-Its he had previously attempted to get from a vending machine.

A Toad that is a complete moron, who is also a rap star by the rap name of Milk, and is friends with Junior, Joseph Cody, and Mario.
  • All Men Are Perverts: Obviously. And he likes to chase those strippers.
  • Ambiguously Bi: Nowadays, Toad is a massive pervert and seems to lust over women like how most rappers view them, usually having at least one woman by his side. Yet it's possible that he's also a bisexual, as earlier videos also show him flirting and pulling moves on Mario, as most evident in "Mario's Wig!", and Black Yoshi even calls him gay numerous times when he gets too clingy during "Toad is Cool!"
  • Brother–Sister Incest: He is seen making out with a Toadette throughout the "Summer School" series. The kicker? That's his sister! Even Junior seems genuinely freaked out by what Toad is implying.
  • Butt-Monkey: Toad initially fulfilled this role for the series, getting abused, disliked, or assualted by the other characters on a regular basis. He was even killed many times and used to have the highest number of deaths before Junior overtook him. It eventually gotten Downplayed after Mario and Chef Pee Pee became the primary targets of abuse.
  • The Chew Toy: Earlier videos Toad was in were mainly about most of the characters hating and abusing him.
  • Chubby Chaser: Toad really wants an obese woman to sit on him.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Once a series regular and one of the earliest cast members of the series, his number of appearances dwindled overtime to the point where he very rarely showed up in later episodes, if at all. After making only two appearances in 2020note , his Human Puppet counterpart was introduced in the 2021 remake of "Cool Cody!". That said, he's not featured in many episodes after that either.
  • Demoted to Extra: He was a regular in the series' earliest years, though his appearances slowly dwindled once Junior came to be. He managed to stick around by playing as Junior's closest friend, but when Joseph and Cody became series' stables as well, he started to have fewer appearances as time went on. As with the rest of Mario's housemates, Toad now has sporadic roles, no thanks to Jeffy.
  • Dirty Kid: Is very perverted for someone who's seemingly the same age as Junior.
  • Dumbass No More: After being Demoted to Extra, Toad seems to be no longer an immature, wimpy Butt-Monkey.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: He lives with Mario and his friends, but they find him incredibly annoying most of the time.
  • Idiot Ball: He hogs the ball whenever he's on-screen.
  • Informed Occupation: Toad is apparently a very successful rapper in the SML universe. While several of his songs do get played in some of SML's videos and he does have his own recording studio, Toad's life largely remains the same. He still lives with Mario despite actually having a job that probably earns him enough for Toad to get his own place (As opposed to Black Yoshi and Shrek), is still going to school (with implications that his grades are rather poor as evident by his failed tutoring with Junior), doesn't seem to be going on any tours nor have much in terms of record deals either (Which are a big deal in the music industry), and while not as often as earlier videos, is still largely a Butt-Monkey. The only real thing Toad has done to further his career is trying to eliminate any other rappers competing for the top spot (the fact that he resorted to murder at all probably meant that either Jeffy did something right and Toad lost his appeal overtime, or he was never that popular in the industry to begin with if Jeffy could take the top spot), and sometimes have a woman by his side (Which A: Usually doesn't last long, and B: Ends up being related to him).
  • Insane Troll Logic: Runs off of idiotic thinking constantly.
  • The Perfectionist: This guy has Manfred Von Karma-levels of perfectionism! No matter what, he will stay the number one rapper, and if anyone dares to top him in the charts, he guns them down! Which begs the question, how much new talent has he killed off?
  • The Prankster: In addition to being a giant pervert, he also likes to play pranks.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After they accidentally poisoned Chef Pee Pee to death as an April Fools prank, he and Junior find out that it's April the 2nd. Toad comments they are screwed and runs away.
  • Self-Harm: He's shown on occasion to cut himself.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: In "Bowser Junior's Homework", he claims to be a genius, when he is anything but.
  • Straw Misogynist: While Toad arguably has scored more women than Mario of all people, "Toad's Girlfriend!" shows that he's not particularly nice to them, as he's seen forcing himself onto Toadette despite her clearly trying to resist him, and he also tells her to go make him a sandwich later in the video. It's not so much that Toad is abusive like Black Yoshi so much as he's just a shallow prick.
  • The Rival: When it comes to rapping, he is this to Jeffy.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Toad's earlier appearances had him constantly getting bullied by his housemates and lacking any sort of genuine friends. But nowadays, not only is he a rapper, but he's actually managed to get some new friends in the form Junior, Cody, Joseph and a few others. It's not focused on too much, but still, he deserves it after putting up with Mario, Black Yoshi, and Shrek for so long.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: Just as many other SML characters, he has died multiple times, only to return without explanation in the next episode. Toad was originally the designated Kenny of SML, but everyone started to get hit with this as SML became more and more of a Sadist Show.
    • In "Shrek's Big Crap", he chokes to death after he passes by the bathroom door and smells the bad odor from Shrek's crap.
    • In "Mario and Luigi's stupid and dumb adventures. Season 2 Episode 3", Black Yoshi shoots him, while Toad was walking by.
    • In "Shrek's Costume", he gets shot multiple times by Black Yoshi.
    • In "Toad's Mistake" (as well as the 2017 remake), Mario and Mama Luigi put him in the microwave and kill him, just because Toad touched Mama Luigi's nickel.
    • In "Toad's Mistake 2", he gets killed by a nuke by Black Yoshi, just because he wanted to play Call of Duty.
    • In "Toad's New Ball", he gets run over by Woody.
    • In "The Perfect Pizza", he is sliced into pieces by Chef Pee Pee after the latter has run out of mushrooms for Bowser's pizza and believes Toad is an actual mushroom.
    • In "Black Yoshi's Bad Deal", he cons Black Yoshi with empty PS4 and Xbox One boxes, getting shot by Black Yoshi in response.
    • In "Bowser's Salad Wrap", he's cooked alive in the oven by Chef Pee Pee along with a horse.
    • He gets shot by Black Yoshi in "Black Yoshi's Job" while the latter was babysitting Junior.
    • Shrek mauls him in a blender in "Toad's Mistake 3", after finding out Toad has been eating his cheesecake. It is obviously Toad's fault too since he hid in the blender in the first place.
  • Too Dumb to Live: For example: He eats Shrek's cheesecake and hides in a blender to avoid Shrek, completely forgetting the blender is see-through glass, so Shrek spots him easily and then grinds him up into a blob of stuffing.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Toad was initially among the nicer characters of the cast, but was given an abundance of negative qualities to go along with his Butt-Monkey status. Over time, he's been shown to be gluttonous, perverted, a horrible advice-giver, and generally unthinking of others than himself.
  • Vague Age: Toad's age is not exactly made clear. Nowadays, he's presented as being roughly around the same age as Junior and his friends (being in 1st Grade and all), seeing as they go to the same school together. However, Toad has been in SML videos a lot longer than Junior has, so that would mean Toad was around preschool or kindergarten age at the time (which makes his Butt-Monkey status a lot more horrifying in hindsight.) Now remember that he also became a rapper around that time too.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Jeffy. When it comes to rapping, Toad is relentless and will do anything to win, even if it means trying to murder him! That being said, he seems to get along with Jeffy at school and is quite friendly with him otherwise.
