This is the recap page for The Amazing World of Gumball, the first full series commissioned by Cartoon Network's European Division. Created by Ben Bocquelet, the series centers on a blue cat named Gumball, his pet goldfish/adopted brother, Darwin, and their bizarre adventures in the town of Elmore, where everything is alive and everyone is a different art/animation style.

Early reel

• Early reel: Gumball and Darwin set off a chain reaction to escape school.

Season One

1. The DVD: Gumball and Darwin wreck a DVD they rented and have to prevent Nicole from finding out.
2. The Responsible: Gumball and Darwin are left to babysit Anais when their parents are away.
3. The Third: Gumball gets jealous when Darwin starts hanging out with Tobias.
4. The Debt: When Gumball thinks Mr. Robinson saved his life, he follows him around to return the favor.
5. The End: A series of ominous events makes Gumball and Darwin think the world is ending, so they do everything they've wanted to before it's too late.
6. The Dress: Richard does the laundry and shrinks all of Gumball's clothes, leaving him with nothing to wear but his mother's wedding dress, and now everyone at school thinks he's a lady.
7. The Quest: Gumball and Darwin help Anais help get her Daisy the Donkey doll back from Tina.
8. The Spoon: Gumball and Darwin end up being accomplices in a convenience store robbery.
9. The Pressure: Masami pressures Darwin into pretending to be her boyfriend.
10. The Painting: A family portrait by Anais makes Principal Brown think she is unhappy, so he sets the Wattersons on a plan to make them a more functional family.
11. The Laziest: Gumball and Darwin face off against Richard in a lazy-off, where the loser has to do the winner's chores.
12. The Ghost: When Carrie keeps possessing Gumball's body to go on food binges, he has to find a way to say no to her.
13. The Mystery: Principal Brown has been shaved, covered in paint, duct taped, and put in Gumball's locker... and everyone's a suspect.
14. The Prank: Gumball and Darwin take a prank war against Richard too far.
15. The Gi: Gumball and Darwin are convinced they're karate masters, but Nicole realizes they're actually being made fun of at school, and tries to convince them not to wear their karate uniforms anymore.
16. The Kiss: Gumball accidentally kisses his Granny Jojo on the lips instead of on the cheek, and Darwin helps him move past this unpleasant memory.
17. The Party: Gumball has to find a date to go to Tobias's sister's high school party.
18. The Refund: When Gumball and Darwin buy a game that doesn't work on their console and Larry won't give them their money back, Hilarity Ensues as they try to get a refund.
19. The Robot: Gumball's attempts to turn Bobert into a real boy lead to the robot impersonating him and taking over his life.
20. The Picnic: Gumball and Darwin get lost in the woods with no supplies and have to survive.
21. The Goons: Bored of doing puzzles with Nicole, Anais wants to learn to be dumb like Gumball, Darwin, and Richard.
22. The Secret: Gumball tries to figure out a secret Darwin is hiding from him.
23. The Sock: Mr. Small uses unorthodox advice and methods to teach Gumball and Darwin about honesty, all of which backfire.
24. The Genius: When Darwin is taken away for being a genius, Gumball studies hard to get him back, while the family takes in Rocky as a Replacement Goldfish.
25. The Poltergeist: Gumball and Darwin keep a depressed Mr. Robinson in their attic, and Richard thinks the house is haunted.
26. The Mustache: Gumball and Darwin can't wait to grow up and be adults — but when it happens unexpectedly fast, they realize the downsides of adulthood.
27. The Date: Gumball prepares for a date at Penny's house, which turns out to be her pet's funeral.
28. The Club: Gumball wants to be in an after-school club like the rest of his family, but only the nerdy Rejects Club will accept him. When he turns them down, they try to get revenge.
29. The Wand: Richard finds a toy wand in his cereal box and is convinced it's magic. Realizing he'll be devastated if he finds out the truth, Gumball and Darwin make every one of his ridiculous wishes come true.
30. The Ape: Miss Simian tries to befriend Gumball and Darwin so she can get them to recommend her for a teaching award.
31. The Car: Gumball and Darwin do chores for Mr. Robinson, which ends with them accidentally wrecking his car.
32. The Curse: Gumball has to survive a day of insanely bad luck.
33. The Microwave: Gumball and Darwin's "gross jar" comes to life in the microwave, creating a monster they decide to raise.
34. The Meddler: When Gumball wants more attention, Nicole starts following him to school, to his frustration.
35. The Helmet: Gumball, Richard, and Nicole all fight over Gumball's lucky tinfoil helmet, while Darwin and Anais want to destroy it to bring the family back together.
36. The Fight: When Anais tells Tina to stop bullying Gumball, Tina decides to settle it with a fight in the schoolyard, which Gumball has to get ready for.

Season Two

1. The Remote: When all of the family members want to watch their own shows at the same time, mind games ensue as they all try to get the remote from each other.
2. The Colossus: Gumball meets Hector and sees that he's not allowed to do anything fun because of how strict his mother is, but when he convinces Hector to let loose, he starts destroying the town and needs to be calmed down.
3. The Knights: Penny's dad doesn't want Gumball hanging out with her after seeing how dysfunctional his family is. Unfortunately, Gumball and Penny still need to finish their medieval project, and Tobias wants Penny for himself.
