    Aatxe 
Challenge Rating: 5
Alignment: Lawful Good

  • Fallen Angel: If left without the guidance of its patron deity, an aatxe can become corrupted when a community's values and traditions steer toward tyranny and oppression.
  • Human Disguise: An aatxe can take on the form of a male humanoid to walk among the people it is tasked to protect, the better to uncover threats to their safety.
  • Guardian Entity: Aatxes serve as protective agents of benevolent deities, sent to watch over pious communities and provide them with protection from harm.
  • Synchronization: An aatxe can tether itself to another creature (willing or not) with a glowing beam of red light, causing all damage taken by the target to be split evenly between it and the aatxe.

    Ammut 
Challenge Rating: 9
Alignment: True Neutral

  • Food Chain of Evil: Ammut are known to devour the walking dead, often swallowing them whole. The undead persist in the ammut's belly and are eventually absorbed, allowing the dead's souls to rest.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: An ammut has the head of a crocodile, the body of a lion, and the hind quarters of a hippopotamus.

    Andrenjinyi 
Challenge Rating: 15
Alignment: True Neutral

  • The Ageless: Andrenjinyi live forever if not killed, having all been created by the Rainbow Serpent during her primordial wanderings.
  • Forced Transformation: Andrenjinyi transform devoured prey into unique species as they desire before regurgitating them out.
  • The Great Serpent: The andrenjinyi is a gigantic, black-headed snake over 60 feet long.

    Angel 

Chained Angel

Challenge Rating: 8
Alignment: Neutral Evil

  • Fallen Angel: These angels have been captured by fiends, tortured and turned to serve evil.
  • Mercy Kill: In their hearts, chained angels still hope to be redeemed, or at least to be given the solace of death. Any creature that kills a chained angel is given a gift of gratitude.
  • Slave Collar: All chained angels wear chains, shackles, barbed flesh hooks or manacles to show their captive state.

Angel of Judgment

Challenge Rating: 18
Alignment: True Neutral

  • Order Versus Chaos: Angels of judgment are cosmic agents of balance who exist to enforce equality between law and chaos.
  • Two-Faced: Each angel of judgment bears two aspects: a dispassionate angel and a fiendish judge. As needed by its assignment, the angel of judgment can change its face and demeanour to exhibit aspects of chaos or law.

Angelic Enforcer

Challenge Rating: 12
Alignment: Lawful Good

  • Hunter of His Own Kind: Angelic enforcers are tasked with policing other angels that go rogue. Those who break their gods' tenets but remain good at heart are arrested and put on trial, while those fully corrupted by evil are destroyed.
  • Non-Human Head: In its true form, an angelic enforcer has the head of a lion.

Eye of the Gods

Challenge Rating: 1
Alignment: Any

  • Eye Spy: When secondhand knowledge of the mortal world is insufficient or when gods engage in divine espionage, the eye of the gods is created with one function: to see all. The deity that created the eye of the gods can see everything the eye sees and can instantly recall the eye to its side at any time.
  • Oculothorax: An eye of the gods is a single, burning eye that is larger than a human head and surrounded by wings of roiling golden flame.

Fidele Angel

Challenge Rating: 5
Alignment: Lawful Good

  • Synchronization: Damage taken by a fidele angel is split evenly between it and its partner. Any other harmful effect affects both equally.
  • Undying Loyalty: Fidele angels are never voluntarily without their partners. No magical effect or power can cause a fidele angel to act against its mate, and no charm or domination effect can cause them to leave their side or to change their feelings of love and loyalty toward each other.

Kinnara

Challenge Rating: 4
Alignment: Lawful Good

  • Bird People: The kinnara has the head, arms, and torso of a beautiful human, the gleaming eyes of an angel and the lower body of a pure white swan.

Mead Archon

Challenge Rating: 4
Alignment: Chaotic Good

  • Boisterous Bruiser: Mead archons are bombastic warriors who inspire others in battle with their bravery and feats of strength. After a victory, mead archons relish staying on the Material Plane to celebrate, drinking ale, bellowing songs, and sharing stories of victory.
  • Booze-Based Buff: A mead archon can drink a pint of alcohol to belch fire, heal itself or grant itself an advantage on attack rolls and saving throws.

Ophanim

Challenge Rating: 16
Alignment: Lawful Good

  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: Ophanim usually take the form of a flaming wheel with another wheel transverse to it within, the outer rims covered in unblinking eyes.
  • Light 'em Up: The ophanim attacks by emitting a burst of holy fire.
  • Living Lie Detector: The ophanim knows if it hears a lie.
  • Wreathed in Flames: Though engulfed in flames, the wheels that make up an ophanim's body do not burn.

Sammael

Challenge Rating: 7
Alignment: Neutral Good

  • Elemental Weapon: Executioners appear as muscled warriors, wielding massive, radiant axes.
  • Whip of Dominance: Punishers wield cruel whips, whose lashes sear both body and soul.

Song Angel

Challenge Rating: 6
Alignment: Lawful Good

  • Human Disguise: When a song angel interacts with mortal nobility, it prefers to take an unassuming form such as a dirty urchin or crone to test its charges' integrity. If spurned by a callous or haughty individual, the song angel unveils its true, radiant form.
  • Magic Music: The song angel's ram's horn emits a thunderous blast, and its brass horn calls forth warrior spirits when blown.

Uridimmu

Challenge Rating: 14
Alignment: Lawful Good

  • Ascended Demon: The first uridimmus were the illegitimate offspring of a demon lord and an unknown entity of chaos. After being defeated by a powerful deity of law, the uridimmus chose to serve the god as guardians of the heavenly realm. Some other angels claim that the souls of uridimmus are still tainted with evil.
  • Non-Human Head: The uridimmu is a tall, muscular humanoid with the head of a hunting hound with the teeth and reddish-gold mane of a lion.

Zoryas

Challenge Rating: 8
Alignment: Lawful Good

  • Casting a Shadow: When the zoryas' lantern darkens, nearby sources of light are snuffed out.
  • Healing Factor: The zoryas regains HP at the start of its turn, unless if it has taken necrotic damage.
  • Light 'em Up: When the zoryas' lantern brightens, its environs are bathed in brilliant light.
  • Thinking Up Portals: Zoryas angels may open and close doors between the celestial plane and the mortal one.

    Astri 
Challenge Rating: 8
Alignment: Chaotic Good

  • Guardian Entity: Astri quietly watch over villages in their territories. They keep the surroundings clear of threats, aerate the soil, and dig out wells in places with limited access to clean water.

    Aviere 
Challenge Rating: 1/2
Alignment: Good

  • Magic Music: The aviere's hymns heal those who can hear them.
  • Resurrective Immortality: An aviere that dies collapses into a pile of ash. Each day the pile of ash is within a mile of a holy site or worshipper of its deity, it has a 75% chance to come back to life. If unholy water is sprinkled on the ashes, the aviere can only return to life through a wish spell or divine will.

    Buraq

    Chamrosh 
Challenge Rating: 1
Alignment: Neutral Good

  • Evil-Detecting Dog: Chamrosh are known for their ability to sniff out evil.
  • Heroic Dog: Chamrosh are celestials that take the form of large sheepdogs with silver-gold fur and eagle-like wings. When not employed by more powerful celestials, chamrosh gather in small packs to roam the planes of good, attacking any fiend or evil monster they come across and rescuing lost or trapped non-evil mortals.

    Dakini 

  • Physical God: Dakinis are lesser goddesses that take active roles in the world. They embody enlightened awareness and wisdom and seek to help others to achieve a higher state of being.

Simhamukha

Challenge Rating: 10
Alignment: Chaotic Good

  • Good Is Not Soft: The simhamukha seeks to punish those who have harmed protected beings.
  • Non-Human Head: The simhamukha appears as a titanic woman with blue-black skin and the head of a white lion with a golden mane.
  • Supernatural Fear Inducer: The simhamukha can draw upon the deepest fears and regrets of the creatures around it.

    Firebird 
Challenge Rating: 4

  • Hot Wings: The firebird's plumage resembles a flaming fan.

    Ghillie Dubh 
Challenge Rating: 1
Alignment: Lawful Good

  • Plant Person: A ghillie dubh looks like a humanoid-shaped mound of leaves and moss given life.

    Hundun 
Challenge Rating: 10
Alignment: Chaotic Good

  • The Unintelligible: Hunduns can only speak nonsense words, but have no trouble communicating among themselves or acting in coordination with other hunduns.

    Irid 
Challenge Rating: 1
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

  • Beauty Equals Goodness: To irids, evil is synonymous with ugliness, and they resist fighting or hurting anything they find beautiful. This tendency has led more than one irid to fall to the predations and charms of the demon lord Rhopalocerex and his minions.
  • Light Is Not Good: Irids are manifestations of rainbows and bear similarities in appearance and mission to angels, but they take little interest in goodness or truth.
  • Photographic Memory: An irid can perfectly recall anything it has seen or heard in the last month.

    Lammasu 
Challenge Rating: 10
Alignment: Lawful Good

  • Guardian Entity: A lamassu will sometimes leave its ruins and adopt a humanoid city by nesting in its largest gatehouse and inspecting those who pass through the gate. In these situations, a protective lamassu watches for known criminals, offers blessings to the poor, and sometimes demands donations from the wealthy to aid the downtrodden.
  • Shedu and Lammasu: The lammasu is a magnificent creature with the head of a human, the body of a lion, and the golden wings of an eagle. It is dedicated to battling the forces of evil and protecting sites of historic and religious importance from harm.

    Living Star

    Moonkite 
Challenge Rating: 5
Alignment: Lawful Good

  • Horse of a Different Color: Moonkites sometimes serve as mounts for powerful celestial generals and heroes, especially those without a humanoid form. The moonkite is valued for its ability to outfly most other creatures and its hardiness against the powers of demons and devils.
  • Sapient Steed: Celestials riding a moonkite never treat it as a lesser creature, instead often confiding in the moonkite or asking for its opinion.

    Planar Flora 

  • Holy Ground: Celestial plants have a natural ability to cleanse cursed and soiled ground. Over time, they grow into large groves, places of intense radiant magic that call to divine spellcasters for miles around. The groves are often guarded by celestial beings who see them as a foothold on the Material Plane.

Hallowed Reed

Challenge Rating: 1/2
Alignment: Neutral Good

  • Born-Again Immortality: If a hallowed reed is slain, a new patch of hallowed reeds will grow in the same spot starting within a week of its death.

Alabaster Tree

Challenge Rating: 7
Alignment: Neutral Good

  • Long-Lived: Animals that make homes in the branches and roots of alabaster trees enjoy protection and unnaturally long lives.
  • When Trees Attack: Alabaster trees protect a lustrating grove. Their ability to move quickly for short periods of time and their tough trunks make them formidable combatants.

Ecstatic Bloom

Challenge Rating: 11
Alignment: Neutral Good

  • Healing Factor: The stalks of ecstatic blooms are thick and recover from injury quickly.
  • Monster Lord: An ecstatic bloom is the leader and ultimate expression of a lustrating grove. A bloom will only appear if at least three hallowed reeds and two alabaster trees grow nearby. Ecstatic blooms consider the hallowed reeds and alabaster trees within their grove to be their children.
  • Turn Undead: The perfume of the ecstatic bloom calms beasts and repels undead.

    Ratatosk 
Challenge Rating: 4 (ratatosk), 5 (ratatosk warlord)
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

  • Large and in Charge: Ratatosk warlords, who command their lesser kin, have gained greater size and strength.
  • The Trickster: Ratatosk are insatiable tricksters. They delight in learning secrets, and spreading those secrets in mischievous ways. It's common for two listeners to hear vastly different words when a ratatosk speaks, and for that misunderstanding to lead to blows.

    Sandman 
Challenge Rating: 5
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

  • Dream Weaver: Visiting the mortal world each night, sandmen ensure that their targets slumber deeply and experience vivid dreams that swell the dream realm's power. To them, all dreams are vital and good, be they horrific nightmares or idyllic dreams.
  • Living Dream: Sandmen are made partially from dreams and imagination.

    Shadow of Death 
Challenge Rating: 21
Alignment: Chaotic Evil

  • Deader than Dead: Creatures killed by a shadow of death can only come back to life with a wish spell.
  • Defeat Equals Explosion: When the shadow of death dies, it explodes in a burst of necrotic energy.
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: Shadows of death sometimes answer the call of death cults, but only to kill the cultists before spreading the grave's shadow across the world.
  • Fallen Angel: Shadows of death form from celestials discarded into the Void by some agent of entropy. While their celestial forms were protected, their minds were forever darkened.

    Simurg 
Challenge Rating: 5
Alignment: Neutral Good

  • Blow You Away: A simurg can create a cone of gale by beating its wings.
  • Healing Hands: When nesting atop a temple or sacred mountain, a simurgh often comforts and helps the local poor by healing their diseases and injuries.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: The simurg is a bird with canine paws and muzzle.

    Skein Witch 
Challenge Rating: 12
Alignment: True Neutral

  • Attack Reflector: If the skein witch fails a saving throw, she may choose to succeed instead and reflect the effect of the failed saving throw onto one enemy.
  • One-Hit Kill: If a deck of many things is brought within 30 feet of a skein witch, she emits a psychic wail and disintegrates.

    Temple Dog 
Challenge Rating: 5
Alignment: Good

  • Asian Lion Dogs: A temple dog is an imposing guardian used by various deities to protect their temples. They are fiercely loyal and territorial. Often depicted in temple statuary, the creature has a largely canine body and a mane like a lion's around a dog's face.

    Thrummren 
Challenge Rating: 12
Alignment: Chaotic Good

  • Horse of a Different Color: Most thrummrens on the Material Plane serve as the mounts of storm giant cavaliers.
  • Taking the Bullet: When the thrummren's rider is the target of an attack the thrummren can see, the thrummren can choose to become the target of the attack instead.
  • Undying Loyalty: Thrummrens never abandon their riders, defending them to the death if necessary. If its rider falls in battle, a thrummren continues fighting until all foes have fallen, then returns the rider's body to its home community, regardless of the distance.

    Uraeus 
Challenge Rating: 2
Alignment: Lawful Neutral

  • Breath Weapon: A uraeus can exhale a cone of fire.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: A uraeus resembles a sleek serpent held aloft on bronze-feathered wings.
  • Protectorate: A uraeus is created to protect. Once it finds a worthy charge, it devotes itself to protecting that ward.
  • Undying Loyalty: A uraeus is fanatically loyal to the creature it protects. Only gross mistreatment or vicious evil can drive a uraeus to break its bond and leave.

    Valkyrie 
Challenge Rating: 11
Alignment: True Neutral

  • Blood Knight: All valkyries love battle and bloodshed, and many are savage and callous.
  • Horse of a Different Color: Valkyries sit astride massive winged wolves.
  • Omniglot: Valkyries become fluent in any language they hear spoken for at least 1 minute, and they retain this knowledge forever.
  • Supernatural Fear Inducer: A valkyrie's unsettling presence can frighten nearby creatures.
  • Valkyries: Valkyries are sent by Odin to decide the course of battles and harvest the souls of brave fallen warriors.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: A valkyrie can take the soul of a newly dead body and bind it into a weapon or shield. Individuals whose souls are bound can't be raised by any means short of a wish or comparable magic.

    White Stag 
Challenge Rating: 2
Alignment: Chaotic Good

  • Angelic Transformation: When pious elves die and their spirits journey to the Outer Planes, some are accorded the honour of spending a year and a day serving the gods as a white stag before moving on to enjoy the afterlife.
  • Dying Curse: When a white stag dies, the killer is subject to a curse that causes the natural world to work against it, and can only be removed with magic or by performing a quest on behalf of the gods (sometimes both).
  • The Marvelous Deer: White stags are celestials sent by the gods to Midgard to provide guidance to mortal heroes. Their appearance is said to be an omen of great events, and those who are privileged enough to see a white stag will have an important part to play.

    Yaojing 
Challenge Rating: 10
Alignment: Neutral Good

  • Elective Mute: Before they arrive on the Material Plane, yaojing take a vow of silence, preventing them from using their telepathy or voice to communicate with mortals. If a yaojing under vow is forced to communicate with more than sign or body language, it must return home to live in silent contemplation for 108 years before it can once again travel the Material.
  • Living Lie Detector: The yaojing knows if it hears a lie.
