  • Erito (Base, SS, SS2, SS3, SSG, SSB, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Basaku (Base, SS, SS2, SS3, SSG, SSB, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)

Female Avatars

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sdbh_ssb_note_viola_forte.jpg
From left to right: Viola, Note and Forte (Base, SS, SS2, SS3, SSG, SSB)
  • Note (Base,SS, SS2, SS3, SSG, SSB, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Viola (Base, SS, SS2, SS3, SSG, SSB, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Forte (Base, SS, SS2, SS3, SSG, SSB, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Akina note

  • Anime Hair: All of them have hair based around characters from Z, so naturally their hair is pretty out there.
  • Badass Cape: Beat during the Galaxy Missions.
  • Badass Adorable: They are all kids, but can fight on the same level as Goku and the strongest villains.
  • Bare Your Midriff: Note's first outfit consists of this.
  • Blood Knight: Viola shows shades of this. Whenever she manages pull off a combo she'll start raising her voice to the point of sounding outright malicious.
  • Character Tics: In Victory Mission, Erito has a habit of spelling out a word, then saying it in conversation; for example, in his intro chapter he says "S-A-S-U-G-A! You're pretty goodnote !"
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Erito and Basaku's names are literally just the Japanese pronunciations of "Elite" and "Berserker"
  • Expy:
    • Beat is yet another Goku doppelganger.
    • Erito is essentially a Saiyan version of Android 17.
    • Basaku heavily resembles Raditz.
    • Note looks like Pan with longer hair.
    • Viola's appearance resembles Android 18 with black hair, or a gender swapped Android 17.
  • Future Spandex: The Berserkers both wear outfits that resemble bodysuit versions of the standard Saiyan/Freeza Force armor.
  • Jack-of-All-Stats: The males have their stat growths tuned this way. Beat in particular is this amongst the avatars as a whole. Females have much lower stat growths and caps, making them look like the Master of None... but in exchange, they start each game with more ki than any other avatar type and also recover it more quickly than most to boot, meaning that they can potentially stay in play much longer.
  • Musical Theme Naming: Beat and all three of the girls.
  • Out of Focus: Beat and Note are considered the trailer's default mascot, but while Beat has appeared in all of the trailers, once the Super part of the game began Note vanished entirely, likely due to there being too many good guys to keep track of.
  • Series Mascot: Beat, the male Saiyan Hero, is this to the series. He appears in every trailer for the game and is even part of the game's logo.
  • Super Mode: Their Super Saiyan 1, 2, 3, God and Blue forms. Activated by their Change card action ability.

    Majin Avatars
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sdbh_super_god_kabra_yoshito_salaga.jpg
From left to right: Yoshito-Kun, Kabura and Salaga (Base,Class Up,Super Class Up, God Class, Super God Class)
  • Kabra (Base,Class-Up Majin, Super Majin, God Majin, Super God Majin, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Yoshito-Kun (Base, Class-Up Majin, Super Majin, God Majin, Super God Majin, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Salaga (Base, Class-Up Majin, Super Majin, God Majin, Super God Majin, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)

  • Berserk Button: Hinted at in their Ultimate Move. Don't "hurt" Mr. Satan in front of him (or Mr. Buu).
  • Fantasy Character Classes: Their wardrobes reference these.
    • The Hero dresses in the manner of a Hero a la Dragon Quest. His Super God Class-Up makes him into a king instead.
    • The Elite starts out dressing as a Wizard, but his Class-Ups have him instead dressing like more increasingly blinged-out Clerics.
    • The Berserker's outfits are meant to evoke a Dark Knight or Evil Overlord.
  • Mighty Glacier: In a sense. Their stat growths are tuned to prioritize HP over all else.

    Freeza Race Avatars
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sdbh_blue_eye_golden_froze_rezok_berserk.jpg
From left to right: Rezok, Freeza Race Berserker and Froze (Base,2nd Form,Final Form, Golden Form, Blue-Eye Golden Form)
  • Froze (1st Form, 2nd Form, Final Form, Golden Form, Blue-Eye Golden Form, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Rezok (1st Form, 2nd Form, Final Form, Golden Form, Blue-Eye Golden Form, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Freeza Race Berserker (1st Form, 2nd Form, Final Form, Golden Form, Blue-Eye Golden Form, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)

  • Anti-Hero: They seem to be this for their race, since everyone else is plain evil.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: After a few updates, instead of getting new outfits like the other avatars, the Freeza Race gain a new body armor. This is likely a reference to the race's ability to transform their bodies at will.
  • Evil Laugh: While not completely evil, Froze cackles madly during his Ultimate Attack.
  • Glass Cannon: Their stat growths prioritize offense over all else.
  • Golden Super Mode: A la Golden Frieza.
  • Horned Humanoid: Froze and the Berserker.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: In the debut trailer for Froze, an alien child throws a rock at him, clearly thinking that he's a bad guy like Freeza. He gets over it after Froze saves his life.
  • Non-Specifically Foreign: In the Victory Mission manga, Froze's player is a blond boy who tends to use English words and phrases; his parents display the same traits when they turn up in one chapter.
  • Status Buff: Their Burst ability enables them to power up their Finishing Move to be even more powerful than normal.
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill: A Freeza Clansman's Ultimate Attack: He fires multiple Death Beams at a very fast rate, injuring his target and keeping him/her in place. Then Vegeta & Piccolo appear above the target in a triangular formation with him and fire their respective beams at him/her, trapping him/her in a massive ball of energy. Froze then laughs maniacally before saying: “Playtime is over... NOW VANISH!!” as he detonates the ball of energy, causing a massive explosion.

    Namekian Avatars
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sdbh_blue_eye_namek_tsumuri_elite_kagyu.jpg
From left to right: Namekian Elite, Tsumuri and Kagyu (Base, Class Up,Super Class Up, Red-Eyed Namek, Blue-Eyed Namek)

  • Tsumuri (Base, w/ Piccolo, Class-Up Namek, Super Namek, Red-Eye Namek, Blue-Eye Namek, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Namekian Elite (Base, w/ Piccolo, Class-Up Namek, Super Namek, Red-Eye Namek, Blue-Eye Namek, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Kagyu (Base, w/ Piccolo, Class-Up Namek, Super Namek, Red-Eye Namek, Blue-Eye Namek, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)

  • Apologetic Attacker: The Namekian Elite, to the point where his victory quote is always a sincere "Sorry! Did that hurt?".
  • Fusion Dance: Their Fusion ability allows them to merge with Piccolo (or any other Namekian) for a power boost that allows them to regenerate ki every turn without being in the support area, doubles the rate that attack increases in proportion to the ki they consume in battle and allows them to quickly charge Hero Energy after winning a clash.
  • Irony: Tsumuri's victory quote is: "Villains like you will never win!" Which is said even when he has villainous characters on his own team.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: The Namekians' equivalent of Super Saiyan God is a red-eyed form first seen in Dragon Ball Online.
  • Stone Wall: Their stat growths prioritize defense over all else.
  • Super Mode: Namekian Fusion, Red-Eyed Namek and Blue-Eyed Namek

    Android Avatars
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sdbh_blue_perfect_nimu_nico_genome.jpg
From left to right: Nico, Nimu and Genome (Imperfect, Semi-Perfect,Perfect, God Perfect, Super God Perfect)
  • Nimu (Base, Class-Up Android, Super Android, God Android, Super God Android, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Nico (Base, Class-Up Android, Super Android, God Android, Super God Android, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Genome (Imperfect, Semi-Perfect, Perfect, God Perfect, Super God Perfect, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)

  • Combination Attack: Their Double ability makes them the undisputed masters of these, allowing them to raise the battle power of themselves and their selected partner after executing one.
  • Expy: While not related, Nimu bares a striking resemblance to Android 17, and even dons Super 17's outfit in a later update.
    • Nico is basically a gender swapped Android 19.
    • Genome is a purple bio-android in an Imperfect form, as he levels up he looks more like a younger Perfect Cell.
  • Idol Singer: Nico's outfits for each successive Class-Up have a strong lean in this aesthetic.
  • Mighty Glacier: Their growths prioritize HP, Attack and Guard in that order. As a tradeoff, they burn ki much more quickly than other avatars and must spend more time charging up. This makes timing their participation in battle much more essential.
  • Monstrous Humanoid: Genome's incect-like appearance, akin to Cell.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: Genome lacks hair, but as he gains the God upgrade, his skin turns red much like Saiyan hair does.
    • His skin turns blue in his Super God upgrade.

    Supreme Kai Avatars
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sdbh_unleashed_zen_fen_wairu.jpg
From left to right: Fen, Zen and Wairu (Base,Class Up,Super Class Up, God Class, Super God Class)

  • Zen (Base, Class-Up Kai, Super Kai, God Kai, Unleashed Kai, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Fen (Base, Class-Up Kai, Super Kai, God Kai, Unleashed Kai, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Wairu (Base, Class-Up Kai, Super Kai, God Kai, Unleashed Kai, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)

  • Bishōnen: Zen and Fen.
  • Expy Wairu is a dead ringer for The Supreme Kai of Time.
  • Lightning Bruiser: They have the quickest growths in HP and attack amongst all avatars and recover ki faster to boot. This comes at the expense of low defense and increased ki loss upon taking damage.
  • Time Stands Still: Their Freeze ability, which takes the form of a Counter Attack that damages and debuffs an enemy after successfully defending against their attack.
  • Golden Super Mode: Their Super God Class form makes them don golden Supreme Kai clothing, and their eyes turn gold as well.

    Demon Avatars
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sdbh_super_demon_god_chamel_elite_berserk.jpg
From left to right: Demon Elite, Chamel and Demon Berserker (Base, Demon God, Super Demon God)

  • Chamel (Base, Demon God, Super Demon God, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Demon Elite (Base, Demon God, Super Demon God, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)
  • Demon Berserker (Base, Demon God, Super Demon God, Goku Linking, Frieza Linking, 18 Linking)

  • Adapted Out: Only Chamel is present in the manga adaptation.
  • Horned Humanoid: Demon Berserker, especially in his Demon God form.
  • Life Drain: Their Draw ability, which absorbs HP from the enemy in addition to debuffing them.
  • Physical Gods: In their Demon God forms.
  • Monstrous Humanoid: The Demon Berserker is the most monster-like of the 3 avatars.

The Time Patrollers/The Xeno characters

    The Supreme Kai of Time
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kaf3edzueiz11.png
Chronoa in her "Power of Time Unleashed" state.

The Supreme Kai in charge of time. She has the same role and backstory as her Xenoverse counterpart, but she has her own spin.

Besides tropes featured in Xenoverse, this incarnation of Chronoa features examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass: She is more prone to join in the fights, and has her own unique transformation similar to Fused Zamasu's aura called "Unleashed power of time".
  • Dual Age Modes: Chronoa's Super Mode Tokinokitara Kaihou ("Power of Time Unleashed") ages her up to an adult appearance.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Realizing it was too late to stop Dark Shenlong's wish to make Mechikabura younger, she seals herself alongside him beyond the realms of time to stop him once and for all. She says goodbye to Trunks, telling him to take care of Toki Toki.
  • Super Mode: Her "Unleashed power of time", which made her sacrifice her life to stop Mechikabura.
  • Time Stands Still: She can stop someone from moving as her special power, but it leaves her open to attacks.

    The Xeno Z-fighters
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/son_gok_xeno_fase_4.png
Son Goku Xeno, as Super Saiyan 4.

At first, Chronoa summoned Future Trunks to the Time Nest due to him breaking the rules of time, she makes him join the Time Patrol to stop the Dark Legion.

After saving Bardock from the control of Towa, Trunks summons Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and Goten to join the Time Patrol.

Besides tropes featured by their main continuity counterparts and Xenoverse, these incarnations of the Saiyans features examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass: All of them receive special transformations.
    • Vegeta and Future Trunks gets the Super Saiyan 3 transformation. Remarkable on Trunks, as his Xenoverse counterpart didn't get the honor.
    • Gohan receives the Super Saiyan 4 transformation.
    • Goten receives the Ultimate state that Gohan obtained with Old Kai.
    • Trunks receives Super Saiyan God thanks to the Time Patrollers performing the ritual.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: Xeno Goku is The Stoic and serious one in the Prison Planet anime, despite being the normal fight-loving Goku we all know everywhere else.
  • Alternate Self: Most of the Time Patrollers come from the same timeline, which goes from DBZ (including some of the movies) to GT, as seen by the fact that their strongest form is Super Saiyan 4. They experienced an altered version of Battle of Gods, since Xeno Goku gained Super Saiyan God and fought Beerus, but he didn't internalize the power or train with Whis so he didn't even know Super Saiyan Blue existed until he met his mainline counterpart. Also, judging by his reaction towards alternative timeline Zamasu, it is safe to assume he never experienced Goku Black arc in super.
    • On the other hand, Xeno Trunks is a version of Future Trunks who was seemingly recruited some time after he returned to his timeline and defeated 17, 18, and Cell. This is likely the result of his being created long before Dragon Ball Super existed and thus this was intended to be what happened to the Future Trunks after his story arc ended.
    • However, in Xeno Vegeta's case, it seems like he does knew more than Xeno Goku, especially his reactions towards U6 Saiyan such as Cabba, or towards Zamasu (compare to Xeno Goku's complete unawareness). In game, his first appearance was in God Mission Vol.10, as Time Breaker Vegeta. Since Xeno Goku disappeared from Earth to join the Time Patrol, Xeno Vegeta decided to get back to him by using the Mask of time breaker. Just like what he did in Majin Bu Saga by allowing Babidi evaded his mind, Xeno Vegeta wants to use the mask to power himself in order to catch up with Xeno Goku. However, he underestimated the mask's brain wash ability and fall victim to get controlled again. However, this time, the mask also wiped out all his memories and only left him with two obsessions: 1. He is the prince of all Saiyan. 2.Find Kakarot and defeat him. Despite not remembering what is Saiyan or who is Kakarot, Xeno Vegeta attacked West city and engaged by Time Patrol, soon after seeing Xeno Goku, he immediately attacked him. Player have to fight him twice to break the mask.
  • Butt-Monkey: Vegeta, as he is constantly forced into fusing.
  • Canon Foreigner: The fusions, Gohanks (Gohan and Future Trunks), Vegeks (Vegeta and Future Trunks) and to a lesser extent Gotenks Xeno (An adult version of Gotenks, but with Goten and Future Trunks instead) have never appeared in the main continuity.
  • Composite Character: In the manga, Goku and Trunks take the roles of Beat and Note instead.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: The Time Patrol consists entirely of Saiyans (and more specifically, members of Goku and Vegeta's families), meaning others like Piccolo and Uub are left out in the cold.
  • Out of Focus: Goten is the least focused of the five Saiyans.
  • You Don't Look Like You: Played With.
    • Xeno Gogeta and Gotenks "break the rules" of the Fusion Dance, having undershirts that don't appear on any other Metamoran Fusion character.
    • Unlike Gogeta who has red hair as a Super Saiyan 4, Vegetto with that transformation keeps the black hair.

  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Any of the giant characters and transformations.
  • Calling Your Attack: As per usual for most of these characters.
  • Combination Attack: Select characters are able to execute team-attacks with other characters. (i.e.: Trunks, Goku and the avatar's Super Heat Dome Attack)
  • Gotta Catch Them All: Every character has multiple cards that either give them a new outfit or new stats and supers, which gives the player more incentive to collect all the cards.
  • Loads and Loads of Characters: Over 500 characters and transformations as of Super Dragon Ball Heroes.
  • Moveset Clone: Mostly since most of the characters only have 1 melee combo, 1 ki-blast combo, 1 super attack and 1 special ability per card and a team-attack due to the turn-based gameplay. Variation is mostly based on who is on your 7-character team and how they can bounce off each other.
  • Overly Long Fighting Animation: The team-attacks.
  • Palette Swap: The Saibamen and Biomen have different colored palettes to fight against.
  • Power Creep, Power Seep: As expected with any Dragon Ball game.
