Aşk is Bahar's daughter. It means love (in the sense of romantic feelings) in Turkish. In Turkish literature, "aşk" is often portrayed as a powerful, all-consuming force that can lead to both joy and tragedy.
Bahar, Derya, and Nil always support Asya in her relationships, especially Aras.
Derin warns Aras that Asya and Volkan will always exclude them when it comes to Ali.
Gönül likens Bahar to a worker bee, flying from flower to flower and taking honey without permission.
Asya always moves her eyes when thinking.
Asya and Derin's reaction to Volkan's infidelity is the same.
Derin has nightmares about Faruk threatening her and calling her blonde devil.
Asya has a nightmare about Derin losing her mind like Aila and killing herself and Volkan in a car accident.
Infidelity is the main cause of conflict, pain, and even tragedy in the series. Also, entitled men who can't respect their wives. And Clingy Jealous Girls with no self-respect.
Volkan and Derin met at a hotel in Sapanca. She was returning from London (freshly graduated from fashion design) and he was at an architecture conference.
Asya cuts herself with a rose's thorn while talking with Volkan, who has just had sex with Derin for the first time.
Asya feels a kinship with Aras due to both having had near-death experiences.
Asya returns to save Derin who had her legs broken/trapped and couldn't swim up. She nearly drowns because of it. Gönül doesn't believe her.
Volkan's "let Asya go" only lasted two weeks.
Selçuk starts his own restaurant with the money he got from the paternity sue.
Hell has no wrath like a woman scorned: said word by word by Asya's narration at the beginning of the second season.
When Volkan goes to visit Asya's hospital bed, Ali forces him out.
Bahar and Melih briefly encountered each other in the streets three years ago. The didn't meet per se but passed side by side.
Demir and Ali start being friends due to Asya's influence, not Volkan/Gönül/Derin's forceful nitpicking.

Volkan lies in his job interview about his wife and son moving up early to Istambul to prepare the house. It's his ex-wife and they haven't moved to help him but to rebuild their lives away from Volkan and Derin.
Volkan is unhappy with Asya's decision to move to Istambul and to move back from there too.
Volkan is not successful at all in his line of work, all of it has been handed to him on a silver platter by his in-laws. They even fabricated a false story of success on the news to make him famous. And, even then, he's never been the chief architect of any project and all he has to his name is an office on his father-in-law's company.

Bahar advises Derin to not spoil men with luxurious gifts because they'll turn bad. Derin always goes behind Volkan's back to go and beg her father to fix Volkan's messes, which kind of count as gifts because there's a lot of money involved. All of it prevents him from facing consequences, thus feeding his ego.
Volkan's obsession leads him to not attend to his work and spend little to no time in his house. Haluk, Gönül, and Derin always notice but he only gets aggressive when questioned or threatened by his in-laws. Unfortunately, his in-laws are old in the game and can successfully rebuke him.
Selçuk calls Gönül aunt.
Derin mocks Asya's interior design as boring. The joke's on her as Volkan is the one who designed her and Volkan's house and is not that lively decorated either, just bigger.
When talking about Selçuk's love problems, Volkan turns the situation to be about him instead. Selçuk even lampshades it.
Nil knocks Leyla pretty badly with a tree branch (she gets brain damage) because Leyla pushed Asya against a tree and then attempted to hit her with another fallen branch (she had the intent to kill). Derin finds them (minus Nil), rushes to try and wake them, and picks up the branch. Everyone sees her holding it and incorrectly (but reasonably, given Derin's previous actions) assumes that she's the culprit. Nil learns this and feels guilty, calls Selçuk, and tells him that she will confess. He initially tries to take all the blame but she insists, so he does everything in his power to help her (he requests legal aid from Asya and advice from Volkan, who tells him to get Aras to convince Leyla to drop the charges).
Bahar wakes up with blood in her crotch and calls Derya in a panic — it's a hematoma, not severe on its own but a tell that she'll have a difficult pregnancy. The pregnancy reveals that she's got pulmonary hypertension, which could either result in a natural abortion or Bahar losing her life.
Asya rescues Aras from a burning car after his car crashes (to avoid crashing against Asya's) and hauls him all the way to security. She then revives him (his heart stopped for a while) and yells at Nil to call an ambulance. Meanwhile, Ali is shouting like crazy to let him help him, signaling how he doesn't see his mother as a capable adult anymore but as someone in need of protection. Nil tells him that Asya is a professional and knows what she's doing.
Volkan knows that what he does is wrong, yet he does it nonetheless.
Volkan is a bad father who only cares for his children when he can use them to manipulate or get revenge on someone else. When he's not setting Ali against Asya (out of jealousy), he's ordering Suna to bring Zeynep over to his place to punish the Guglus. When neither Asya nor the Guglus is involved, he forgets he has children.
Volkan threatened Suna to voucher for him during the divorce trial.
Ali has a double standard over his father being with another woman (fine) and his mother being with another man (bad). Mostly due to his father's bad influence.
Ali has copied Volkan's aggressive behavior and learned that is okay to act possessively toward Asya. He lashes out with yells and even punches at fairly minor offenses from his classmates and even friends. This behavior has been escalating over the years.
Abusive Parents: Volkan's father.
The Atoner: Selçuk. Hicran. Haluk.
Calling the Young Man Out: What Gönül does after Derin fakes her kidnapping. Melih also does this when he learns she's been trying to frame Asya as the intellectual author.
Crazy Jealous Guy: Volkan, bordering on yandere.
Clingy Jealous Girl: Derin. Leyla. Ceren (downplayed with her).
Foil: Volkan and Aras. Derin and the other Asya.
Four-Temperament Ensemble: Asya is phlegmatic while Volkan and Derin are choleric. See whether other characters fit into the other roles.
Locked Out of the Loop: Ali. Asya doesn't disclose the crimes and slights Ali's father has committed against her so he can still have a relationship with Volkan.
Mirror Character: Volkan and Leyla. Aras and Haluk. Volkan and Selçuk.
Paranoia Gambit? Derin fakes having been kidnapped and leaves clues to frame Asya and Volkan. Coupled with Volkan's aggressive, obsessive behavior and everyone thinking Asya still loves him.
Parents as People: Gönül and Haluk. Hicran. Asya's parents.
