Locked Pages: Lock, UnLock and Edit requests

This thread is for requesting edits or unlocks to Locked Pages or for requesting locks. It can also be used for technical requests to moderators such as:

• creating new pages in the Main/ and other restricted namespaces without going through Trope Launch Pad
• moving discussion pages
• moving reviews

Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

1. Check Locked Pages and Permanent Red Link Club first. They can provide guidance on what are good and bad requests.
2. Include working links in your request to the page(s) in question.
3. If asking for edits, state your changes exactly as they should appear on the page, including proper Example Indentation, namespacing, and pothole and quote formatting. And make sure that what you want to add is actually a valid example.
4. We do not edit archived articles, even to correct links.
5. If you need to have the capitalization of a page title or namespace of a work fixed, ask here.
6. If you need to remove a ghost wick, go here.
7. To request a page to be moved along with its history, go here.
8. Some locked pages have ongoing cleanup threads, like Complete Monster (Thread), Five-Man Band (Thread), and Magnificent Bastard (Thread). Other than purely technical requests, edits to these pages ought to be discussed in these threads first.
9. Also, we do not do direct edits (other than changing wicks) to Magnificent Bastard or Complete Monster example lists. Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
10. Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

When this occurred before, we used the Sandbox to preview changes.

Huh, I thought we were using the discussion pages for this sort of thing.

Or that, I guess. Major changes like a whole rewrite go on the Sandbox, but if you just want to preview a few additions, use Discussion.

So how do I go about actually getting them on the page in question? Just ask a friendly neighborhood admin?

Okay, here goes. I've got a bunch of them:

• Under "Biggus Dickus". Please rename it to Bigger Is Better in Bed because that trope still qualifies here.
• Under "Ensemble Darkhorse". Please remove the sentence "See also Moon-Pals" since the article for that was deleted (as was the entire Moon-Pals comic, for that matter — the comic's been deleted and robots.txt'd, which is why its article was removed).
• Under "Gratuitous Japanese", "Loads and Loads of Characters" and "Pokémon Confusion". Please add a colon after the trope name, for neatness.
• Under "Jossed". Big-ass redlink pothole to Moon-Pals that needs removal. The text can stay.
• Under "Retcon":
  • The third entry has a stray parenthesis after "change the shape of its tail" that needs removal.
  • Please add a listing that says something like this: "In October 2010, he uploaded a video with a remade version of issue 10 that retconned some of that issue's more graphic plot lines."
• Under "Squick". The hottip that says "This line is quoted verbatim from Family Guy" is missing a closed parenthesis.
• Add "This Is a Drill: Simonla has a drill at the end of her tail and can turn her hand into drills. She is based on Simon from Gurren Lagann."

Regarding Biggus Dickus: Renames are done in Trope Repair Shop. Did we settle on this? If so, you need to create the new article and make the old one a redirect - the first part can be done without moderator intervention. Edit: Biggus Dickus was already redirected. So I don't see the issue here, unless it got done while I was typing this reply.

I'll get to the others this afternoon. Some of them are ones I was not aware were locked — Jossed? Really? Also, if you don't mind, please edit your list to link to the articles so I don't have to go play with the nonexistent search bar.

^ No. All of those are entries in Sonichu's page list. All those edits are for the Sonichu page.

I think that the tropes' entries on Sonichu was what was meant. Jossed isn't locked.

That is what I meant — I wanted the descriptions for each trope on the Sonichu page to be edited.

I've stickied this thread for future requests of the same sort.

A lot of the Locked Pages have requests for mods to add/edit things in their discussion pages.

I have some:

On The Bible, please:

• Add these tropes under Trope Namer:
• Angel Unaware
• Our Angels Are Different
• Archangel Gabriel
• Archangel Michael
• A Chat with Satan
• Crystal Dragon Jesus
• Deal with the Devil
• Fallen Angel
• Hijacked by Jesus
• Satan
• Universe Bible
  • also Everyone Is Jesus in Purgatory and Everyone Is Satan in Hell, if subjective tropes are allowed to be listed too.
• Remove Disney Death, as to my understanding Disney Death is when someone appears to have died but it turns out they were not dead after all. Jesus actually did die, and came back form the dead.
• Add: * Decapitation Presentation: Judith with the head of Holofernes. ** Possibly also Salome with the head of John the Baptist.
• Add: * "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Matthew 23 was this from Jesus against the Pharisees.
• This is nitpicky, but Trope Overdosed is not bulleted.

There is more, but this is all I can think of at the moment.

On Inheritance Cycle, please consider adding:

Weirdness Magnet: Eragon, bar none —>Saphira: Nothing out of the ordinary ever occurs to me when I'm by myself. But you attract duels, ambushes, immortal enemies, obscure creatures such as the Ra'zac, long-lost family members, and mysterious acts of magic as though they were starving weasels and you were a rabbit that wandered into their den.

Also, you may as well remove the note at the top of the page that says "please keep the complaining to a minimum," unless it's an intentional joke, seeing as with the page locked, complaining isn't likely.

You might also add that an officially endorsed guidebook, The Inheritance Almanac, was released in October.

Also, could you add this please:

Think Nothing of It: In Brisingr, Angela the herbalist tells Roran this after he thanks her for healing the injuries on his back from whipping. She then changes her mind and says "Or rather, thank something of it, but do not consider it overly important. Besides, it amuses me to have tended injuries on both your back and Eragon's."

That should be it, at least from me on that one.

Can someone please rchange Milage to Mileage in the Your Mileage May Vary trope listed at the bottom of the Encyclopedia Dramatica article?

Why? It's a valid spelling isn't it? It's linked on 900 pages. It's fine.

No. "Milage" is not a word. I think it reflects badly on any wiki to have typos.

Twentington, we've gone over this three times before. "Milage" is an accepted variant spelling of "Mileage".

I don't remember going over it before. Google disagreed, but if you've found sources saying milage is acceptable, then it is.

Extremely minor, but since we have a thread specifically for it, on Americans Hate Tingle, this line:

• Borat was considered so offensive, it was banned in Russia, because many felt it would lead to race riots. The movie wasn't shown in theatres, however, DV Ds are freely available.

needs the [==] tags put around DVDs
