RWBY

Team Dark RWBY

  • As a Whole:
    • Evil Counterpart: Like Dark Pit, they are the counterparts to Team RWBY, only much more complete; being darker and openly malevolent.
    • Killed Off for Real: One by one, Team Dark RWBY met their ends, with Dark Ruby being the Sole Survivor before ultimately being killed by Ruby long after her teammates. Dark Weiss/Meryl would later become the true Sole Survivor upon her rebirth.
    • Mistaken Identity: The group has been mistaken for Team RWBY at times. This played a pivotal part in Super RWBY Sunshine, where they used it to frame Ruby, Weiss, and Blake.

     Dark Ruby
Tropes applying to both:
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Many of her counterparts get brutal deaths usually deserved.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: As seen through Super RWBY IF, Dark Ruby often pales in comparison to other foes and loses easily due to her arrogance.

Dark Ruby Rose / Grimm Ruby / Queen Ruby

  • Abhorrent Admirer: She's one to Dark Pit, who, much like the other heroes, loathes her.
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: In the last chapter of Super RWBY 3D Land, she was pleading with her former teammates to be given a second chance before they threw her into the deepest pit in the Underworld, complete with Broken Tears. They weren't having any of it.
  • All Love Is Unrequited: She has a crush on Dark Pit, which he very much doesn't return. She later kidnaps him and promises to make him recuperate her feelings one way or another.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Gets some of her limbs chopped off by Summer Rose before being blasted to the edge of space.
  • Ax-Crazy: Easily the most psychotic of her teammates and will do anything to harm anyone, especially Ruby.
  • Big Bad: Of Super RWBY 3D Land, where she has Dimentio help her create a dimension full of Grimm to invade the Mushroom Kingdom and kill Ruby once and for all.
  • Butt-Monkey: She tends to be this a lot, especially in Super RWBY Chibi, sharing this role with the equally hated Damian.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Her paper counterpart gets completely torn apart by Chaos Ruby's abilities, and then she gets her head chopped off to add insult to injury. It's so cruel, that even Summer Rose wonders what had happened to her daughter. The original Dark Ruby's death isn't much better. After losing her Grimm powers and reverting to her original self birthed from the Mirror of Truth, Dark Ruby gets infected by Phazon and is slowly eaten away by it. Granted, both versions got what they deserved, but goddamn.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Loses to Bea easily before being flung into the air.
  • Defiant to the End: Despite her loss in the end, Dark Ruby refuses to die even when being melted by Phazon.
  • The Dreaded: Ruby's Lingering Fear makes her dread Dark Ruby.
  • Eye Scream: Ruby slashed her eyes out, with them being replaced by the eyes of a Grimm later.
  • Fatal Flaw: Her biggest weakness is her psychotic obsession with Ruby, which often leads to her defeat. She has started taking steps to better handle those who get in her way. Despite this, it ultimately leads to her death.
  • Hated by All: She is hated by pretty much everyone she comes across in the series, in no small part due to her torturing Ruby.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: Dark Ruby tends to do this a lot in every interaction she has with everyone in the series.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After putting Ruby through so much pain and suffering through the series, Dark Ruby received karma in the form of fatal wounds in the form of her right arm and her left leg cut off by Summer Rose and Ruby's Silver Eyes, then getting blasted into the intergalactic void by the Sonic Power Cannon. Then came 3D Land where after so much pain and havoc, she is finally killed off for good by Ruby.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: After Hiyoko gives her a wedgie, Ruby teases her if she is a bit tender. Dark Ruby doesn't find this so amusing.
  • Power-Up: With help from Dimentio, she unlocked a variety of new powers such as creating Grimm replicas of other people and gaining control of an entire dimension full of Grimm, making her one of the strongest villains in the series. However, she lost all of that power thanks to being weakened during battle and exposed to Ruby and Summer's Sliver eyes, reverting her back to normal just in time for her death.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: She has red Grimm eyes after Ruby cut off her original eyes.
  • Sadist: The original timeline version of her loves to make Ruby's life a living hell, including her loved ones. The one from Super RWBY IF Chapter 17 sheds these tendencies, however.
  • Stopped Clock: Her semblance can stop time, giving her plenty of time to torment Ruby.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: She wins a couple of times.
    • The first time is when she wins her first fight against Ruby in Uprising, but Dark Pit saves her before she falls to her death.
    • The second time she wins is when she succeeds in her goal of capturing Ruby Rose during the finale of the first part of Super RWBY 3D Land. Plus this was the first time she had won a fight successfully regardless of interference.
    • She winds up winning a third time when she ends up actually killing Ruby after her immense torture session, but she is revived shortly after.
    • The fourth time is when she throws Grimm Liquid at her eyes, which makes her hallucinate Ruby into seeing her friends as Grimm Ruby and nearly kills Yang. Because of this, she falls into despair.
    • She unknowingly wins a fifth time, since Ruby and Chaos Ruby had conversed for the first time and the latter starts to regain hope. However, once Ruby dies, Chaos Ruby quickly falls into despair again HARD. And Grimm Ruby doesn't even realize that she doomed the Paper-verse. Luckily, after Ruby is brought back from the dead and kills Grimm Ruby, Ruby can reestablish her link with Chaos Ruby and talk her down.
  • This Cannot Be!: Her reaction when she sees that Ruby recovered from the Grimm liquid she force fed her and is ready to face her once again.
  • Villain Decay: While a huge threat at first, Dark Ruby becomes less and less of a threat every time she loses to the point she becomes more of an annoyance. That said, even in her latest encounter with Ruby she was still quite vicious and dangerous. By Chapter 127 of Super RWBY Gaiden, she becomes a serious threat again after being provoked by Dimentio.
  • Wedgie: Hiyoko gives her a most painful wedgie that makes even Ruby cringe.

     Dark Weiss / Meryl Schnee

Dark Weiss Schnee / Meryl Schnee

  • Baby Of The Bunch: Despite her young teen appearance, she is the youngest of her adoptive family due to being created as a dark clone a year ago.
  • Axe-Crazy: She originally was obsessed with burning anything but has since mellowed out.
  • Back from the Dead: Hades granted her a second chance in life.
  • Broken Tears: Have these when she is at the mercy of a mutant Shroob Behemoth and eaten alive. It's not pretty.
  • Fatal Flaw: Like Dark Ruby, she used to have an obsession with destroying Weiss and her family. This ultimately leads to her undoing, by first getting frozen by Esdeath before getting eaten by a mutated Behemoth. She later outgrew it when she came back to life.
  • Happily Adopted: At the end of RWBY: Winter's Dusk, Meryl was adopted into the Schnee Family.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Upon her rebirth, she has since changed completely.
  • I Hate Past Me: In Frontiers, when she encounters a virtual copy of herself when she was Dark Weiss, she hates who she used to be even thinking to herself Weiss, I am so sorry I acted like this…
  • Meaningful Rename: During her fated duel with Corrupted Deity Weiss, Dark Weiss decided to rename herself Meryl as a sign that she has moved on from her old self.
  • Playing with Fire: Unlike Weiss, who favors ice, she can use fire. She would later demonstrate the ability to use different forms of fire. The fire can change into blue, orange, blue-orange, green, yellow, white, and pink colors.
  • Power-Up: She has obtained new skills and weapons since her rebirth.
    • Thanks to her training with Pandora, Dark Weiss can use different forms of fire magic.
      • Her blue fire allows her to deal a large amount of damage. Dark can also infused her weapons with the blue fire.
      • Her orange fire can be used as a fireball for throwing or rapid-fire use.
      • She can create a unique blue-orange fire called the Blorange. This fire is as cold as dry ice, capable of freezing anything it touches.
      • Her green fire can produce wind, allowing Dark Weiss to pull any foes closer.
      • Meryl can launch her yellow fire into the air and rain down fire bolts capable of stunning enemies.
      • Her white fire/phantom flame can pass through anything. This fire will continue on its path, destroying anything it touches.
      • Finally, she can create a pink fire that can explode on contact.
    • She has a staff that can transform into a Halberd. Thanks to an upgrade by Seryu, Meryl can change her weapon into a Gunlance.
    • Meryl can combine with her Phoenix into a powerful transformation, Phoenix Meryl. She can use both the abilities of her Phoenix and Fire for powerful combos while in this form. She can combine her different fire attacks. Finally, Meryl can use her blue fire to turn herself into a fireball like a comet to crash into foes.
  • Team Pet: She received the Kid Icarus Phoenix from Pandora, who had found his egg in the Underworld. She can whistle him to come when needed.
    • During RWBY: Wings of Ruin, Meryl obtained several Monsties/. They consist of Kurama (Violet Mizutsune), Basalt (Basarios), and Yoshihisa (Glavenus).
    • She also had temporary ownership over Slash (Velocidrome) and Rancor (Pukei-Pukei) due to Mine having been kidnapped by Adam.
  • Took a Level in Badass: She has become much stronger since her rebirth, likely from her training in the Underworld.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Subverted oddly. While she's indeed a Jerkass to Whitley, she doesn't do much physical harm to him aside from insulting him and even breaking him out of the mental ward.
  • Wrecked Weapon: Weiss destroyed her doppelganger's weapon, much to her surprise. It gets destroyed a second time for good because of the Egg Titan.
  • The Worf Effect: Unlike Weiss, who has kept training and facing stronger foes, Dark Weiss hasn't done much and thus was beaten easily.

Grimm Weiss

  • Redemption Equals Death: Grimm Weiss dies fighting alongside Weiss against Grimm Ruby, and even admits to being proud of being Weiss's rival.

     Dark Blake

Dark Blake Belladonna

Grimm Blake

  • Half the Man He Used to Be: She tried to jump through a portal Samus had made for when Blake and Rosalina kicked her from behind. Samus closes it, which ends up severing her torso.
  • Kill It with Fire: How she went out a second time.
  • Official Couple: She and Grimm Adam were a couple during the events of Super RWBY 3D Land.
  • She's Back: She came back as a Grimm courtesy of Grimm Ruby.

     Dark Yang

Dark Yang Xiao Long

  • Bullying the Dragon: She thought it would be a good idea to give Yang a haircut. It didn't go so well.
  • Fate Worse than Death: Dark Yang gets erased from existence during her final battle with Yang, this cannot be revived.
  • Glass Cannon: Her semblance counts as this which serves as a major weakness.

Grimm Yang

  • Death by Irony: Despite Grimm Yang claiming she will be the last one standing, she was the first to die. Double irony as she was defeated by teamwork, arrogantly believing she could win by herself without help.
  • She's Back: She comes back as a Grimm to have a rematch with Yang. Having been recreated through Grimm Ruby’s memories.

Team JINX(Y)

  • As a Whole:
    • Dark and Troubled Past: Their backstories all share a common theme of either tragedy or trauma.
    • Home Base: Nyx’s home in the Mushroom Kingdom becomes the new base for Team JINXY after recovering the deed to her parent's home in Gusty Gulch.
    • One Extra Member: Dark Xena/Yagami becomes the unofficial fifth member of Team JINX, later renamed Team JINXY.
    • Power-Up: During Star Allies, they gain access to several powers ups and have retained them since as mentioned in Galaxy, and continue to unlock new ablates.

The granddaughter of Professor E. Gadd and Amelia Gadd who's not only an incredibly talented scientist and avid researcher of the supernatural, but also the proud leader of Team JINXY. Not to mention that she also has a habit of pulling out and taking down notes on her notepad even at the most inopportune times and is the current girlfriend of Futaba Sakura of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts.

  • Arch-Enemy: King Boo due to him killing her parents. He is the only Boo that Jade dislikes.
  • But Not Too White: Jade's skin has become pale white as of Freelancer from spending too much time in the lab. Hiyoko noted she is even whiter than Rei/Boosette.
  • Crazy-Prepared: It is revealed that she created a vault with a security system meant to keep King Boo trapped inside of his painting that consisted of several cameras, lasers that can harm ghosts, a prison in which a glass container was in which the painting was stored and even included a surveillance robot that kept track of the place when Jade was on a mission.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Jade, despite the whole surveillance system she created, did not account for herself getting possessed by a boo that was trying to free its master.
  • Official Couple: Jade and Futaba are an official couple as of JNPR: Freelancer.
  • Paranormal Investigation: She was investigating the mansion in JNPR's Mansion along with her grandfather, Professor E. Gadd.
  • Power-Up: She gains access to the Jade Wisp and the ability to call upon it for assistance.
    • During Star Allies she obtained the Copy Beam ability.
    • Her Semblance later evolves by JNPR: Freelancer to where Jade can now phase through objects without the Jade Wisp. She can also phase through people but that will tire her out faster.
    • She later obtained a Z-Ring/Z-Power Ring along with Mimikium Z. This allows Pikaboo to use the Z-Move; Let's Snuggle Forever.
    • After the event of Forgotten Land, Jade upgraded and rebuilt her Poltergeist into the Poltergeist 3500. The Poltergeist can transform into Mecha Jet with dual laser cannons. It can shrink down and transform into a Power Glove and Mecha Kirby Fist until needed. The Poltergeist has dual compartments now, one for Ghosts and the other for Dust. It also has a first-aid feature for healing injuries. Finally, it has a Black Light feature and original features from the previous version.
      • She also added neon cybernetic armor and high-tech boots inspired by Mecha Kirby to better protect herself. Her goggles can now transform into a helmet with a green visor.
      • Jade can now use a Hardlight shield thanks to a button on her wrist.
      • Jade and Futaba created a ray gun that shoots Question Mark Blocks for power-ups.
  • Prone to Sunburn: Jade makes it clear she gets sunburned easily.
  • Rich Genius: She's earned a lot of money thanks to her inventions and intellect, and is kind enough to share her wealth with others.
  • Running Gag: Jade has a habit of pulling out and taking down notes on her notepad even at the most inopportune times. As a result, either Pikaboo or her teammates have to drag her away.
  • Surprisingly Good Foreign Language: It is stated and demonstrated that she is very fluent in foreign languages, with Spanish and Japanese being shown as the main ones.
  • Team Pet: Pikaboo (Mimikyu) and Calypso (White-Striped Form Basculin).
    • She also shares her girlfriend's Houndstone named Spooks.
  • The Cameo: Jade made her first appearance during the ending of Super RWBY 64.
  • Villain Respect: King Boo stated that he had a great deal of respect for Jade for putting in all that effort to keep him trapped in the painting, which was why he kept her alive as he wanted to fight her at a later date.
  • Weapons That Suck: Jade uses her own Poltergust model as a weapon for this.

     Iris Icaria

Iris Icaria

  • Aura Vision: Iris's Semblance allows her to see the silhouettes of a person's aura.

  • Childhood Friends: She and Rantaro Amami grew up together on the same island of Lemnos.
  • Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Iris admits she cannot sing very well. No matter how often she tries to improve, her instructor's ears bleed. It makes Kirby's singing sound like a rockstar.

  • Tragic Mistake: As Iris told Yang, she made a mistake that got one of the villagers gravely injured in her home and the blame was placed on her which led to her leaving the village with regret ever since. This mistake was her Uncle Kuro getting injured by Amon.
  • Wrecked Weapon: Iris's gun gets destroyed by an Elite's Plasma Grenade during JNPR: Project Freelancer.

Nyx Shadow

As a Huntress of the Mushroom Kingdom, Nyx Shadow has once lived a tough life in the Gusty Gulch and then Toad Town after losing her home to the Wario Bros. Having gotten her payback and reclaimed her lost home, Nyx now continues to live on as a proud and loyal member of Team JINXY! Being trap-making specialist and having quick aim with her crossbows, this quick-witted Huntress saves the world one bad pun at a time.

  • Arch-Enemy: Wario and Waluigi.
  • Berserk Button: The Boos are a sore subject for Nyx due to what they did to her in the past.
    • The Wario Brothers also count for this since they scammed her father out of their house.
  • Cool Bike: Nyx obtained a Flame Rider bike during a Princess Peach rescue mission in chapter 267 of Super RWBY Gaiden.
  • Master of Unlocking: Nyx learned how to lockpick from Anthoney.
  • Power-Up: She gains access to the Black Wisp.
    • During chapter 267 of Super RWBY Gaiden, Nyx received several upgrades;
      • Sonia gave her a modified Springfield Hellion with blunt bullets and under-barrel.
      • Ibuki gave her an outfit with a mask that can use night vision, infrared vision, and a heartbeat scanner.
      • Sonia and Zoey also gave Nyx smoke pellets, a glue grenade, a sticky camera that can work with her mask, a mine called Noirsemaker, a dart trap, a bear trap with pads, Ink Mine, Pitfall seeds, and the grapple gun.
  • Pungeon Master: Likes to do bad puns as much as Yang.
  • Revenge Before Reason: She's so consumed by revenge over what the Wario Bros did to her own home, she outright tells them that if they get in their way during the events of Wario Land: JINX It, she will make sure their deaths will look like an accident.
    • She's so consumed by it that even SARGE is concerned with her.
      • Luckily, Anthony helped her get out of this.
  • Super-Senses: Her Semblance, Super Sensory, allows her to pick up things at least a hundred feet.
  • Team Pet: Black Yoshi, Galarian Moltres.
    • She owned Screamy and Swampy temporarily between Chapters 12 and 14 of Forgotten Land. The reason being the Ayami Sisters were under Fecto's control that time.
  • Trap Master: Nyx specializes in making traps.

     Xena & Yagami Ayami
Tropes applying to both:
  • Astral Projection: As of the seventh chapter of Wario Land: JINX It, Xena and her alternate self can use Astral Projection to see what lies ahead. Her powers would later evolve to the point she can project Yagami outside of her mind and body as well so the two can talk and interact more with the environment.
    • She can later call out Yagami without Astral Projection. However, she can only call out Yagami for 15 minutes due to how much magic is required to maintain the split. Luckily, this limit can be removed with the Double Cherry item.
    • After being sucked into a portal during JINXY and the Forgotten Land, the sister can maintain separation for over three hours when close. Or the limit will be two hours when separated from each other. Once the time limit is passed, the two will be fused back together and must wait one hour before they can split again.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Fecto takes control of them when they first try to contact Umber. He controls their actions and voices without them realizing it. They described the experience as being in a long dream and sleepwalking. Later, he takes complete control of them during Chapter 12 of JINXY and the Forgotten Land. Two chapters later, they were able to break free from Fecto's control thanks to Deep Sleep, allowing them to remove his influence for good.
  • Cool Big Sis: Both of them become this towards Magnolia during their time together in the New World.
  • Monochromatic Eyes: Their eyes are both two diffrent colors thanks to their fusion, Persona-style.
  • Official Couple: Both are Umber's girlfriends since Chapter 69 of Super RWBY Gaiden.
  • Power-Up: Both obtained the ability to use Fire and Copy ESP Ability Up during Star Allies.
    • The girls' ESP powers evolved to the point that they can naturally use them without needing Kirby's ability.
    • Both also gained access to the Purple Wisp.
    • They obtained a Needler during JNPR: Project Freelancer.
    • Both obtained two Tera Orbs for Terastalize.
  • Sharing a Body: With Yagami being a split personality, both share the same body and can switch over control at any time.
  • Ship Tease: They had this with Umber before it became official.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Xena is the more relaxed and playful one while Yagami is more sadist.
  • Team Pet: Screamy (Wooper → Quagsire) and Swampy (Paldean Wooper → Clodsire).

Xena Ayami

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/super_rwby_sisters___xena_ayami_by_darkrebellion04_dfvs0ko_1_6.png
Courtesy of darkrebellion04 on DeviantArt.

At a young age, Xena was relocated to a Bob-omb Village when her father's friend, who was a Bob-omb, invited them to move there. However, thanks to King Bob-omb's actions, she's the only survivor of the Bob-omb War. It caused her to develop a darker, more sadistic side when she came around. Nowadays, she's totally calm and completely chill, having developed psychic powers, she's considered the most powerful member of Team JINXY, alongside her twin sister, Yagami.

  • Arch-Enemy: King Bob-omb due to the Bob-omb war killing her family and giving her PTSD triggering her dark side.
  • Berserk Button: Heaven help you if she hears an explosion and no one is there to comfort her. Her dark side will come out to play. After confronting Dark Xena in Mementos, this is no longer the case.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: The Bob-omb War ended up killing everything she loved in her village, also resulting in PTSD and triggering her dark side.
  • Death of Personality: What may have happened if Xena and Dark Xena fought to the death in their minds. But after Healing of the Soul and talking things out, they merge but still keep their separate identities.
  • Everybody Has Standards: While Xena may not like Ozpin and dislikes him for taking her out of therapy, even she was shocked that Dark Xena wanted to kill him and didn't want that.
  • Fusion Dance: Xena says she might do this with Dark Xena one day. As of Healing of the Soul, that dream comes true.
  • Fuzz Therapy: Screamy, Xena's Wooper, is this for her when she needs to calm down. Bonus points are that it has Damp for its ability, which can cancel out explosions.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: She's been a victim of war thanks to King Bob-omb. Her PTSD gets rampant when she hears or sees explosions up until her Journey to the Center of the Mind in Healing of the Soul.
  • Split-Personality Merge: She and Yagami would become one with each other while still retaining the ability to switch control.
  • Split-Personality Team: Both she and Yagami work together on who takes control and who can rest.
  • Wrecked Weapon: Galacta Knight destroys her katana and leaves her in shock.

Dark Xena / Yagami Ayami

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/super_rwby_sisters___yagami_ayami_by_darkrebellion04_dfvs0vf_3.png
Courtesy of darkrebellion04 on DeviantArt.

A split personality born from a traumatic tragedy formerly known as Dark Xena, who was born right after Xena survived King Bob-omb's carpet-bombing attack on her hometown in Bob-omb Village years ago. Despite Ozpin's best intentions, therapy only made her angrier and made her lash out more. Eventually, Xena realized her dark side was hurting and was just more than a personality, thus the two made up. Nowadays, Yagami is much nicer and has become her own person as much as she tends to "switch out" should her twin sister feel tired.

  • Alternative-Self Name-Change: Dark Xena decides to rename herself Yagami after a suggestion by Iris for a new name to reflect how much she has changed and to tell the two apart.
  • Astral Projection: Yagami can use Astral Projection to see what is ahead like Xena.
  • Badass Fingersnap: When General Shroob dies, Dark Xena/Yagami makes her move by snapping her fingers to trap everyone.
  • Berserk Button: If Xena hears a bomb explosion or King Bob-omb's name, this causes her to go berserk and switch to her Superpowered Evil Side. Fortunately, she's been able to grow out of this ever since she made peace with Dark Xena/Yagami and accepted her as a part of herself.
  • Death of Personality: This would have happened to Yagami should she and Xena have fought, lucky things were resolved before they could occur.
  • Fusion Dance: She and Xena become one during Healing of the Soul.
  • Heel–Face Turn: After being accepted by Xena and properly fusing, she began changing for the better.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: Yagami wants this with regular Xena, but feels hurt and betrayed when Xena is told by her friends and allies to not accept and merge with her. This is why she wanted to kill Ozpin, Mewtwo, her friends, and anybody who kept getting in their way.
  • It's Personal with the Dragon: It's unsure why, but Dark Xena wishes to kill everybody starting with Xena's friends and ending with Ozpin as the last one. We discover that that was just because she was too angry over what happened to even think straight.
  • Sadist: Dark Xena tends to be more sadistic, given how she sadistically murdered a Beanie. Of course, it was Killed Offscreen, but still! Though that was because she was blind from rage. The sadism has since lessened but is still there.
  • Split Personality: Yagami was originally this to Xena up until the events of Healing of the Soul.
  • Split-Personality Merge: She and Xena would later become one, sharing control.
  • Split-Personality Team: Both she and Xena work together on who takes control and who can rest.

Team MAJC (Magic)

     As a Whole
  • Badass Normal: This team has no formal Huntsman training, no Semblances, and no Auras. They are just as capable of fighting as any other team in Remnant.
  • Battle Couple: Anthony and Jen; Camrin and Mona
  • The Big Guy: Mona
  • Brother–Sister Team: Camrin and Chloe when working together on a mission.
  • Expy: Of the Sly Cooper Gang, with the early dynamic between Anthony and Jen being comparable to that of Sly and Carmelita. With Mona being the Murray of the group. The group itself targets people because it is the morally correct thing to do, similar to the Sly Cooper Gang.
  • Frame-Up: The Team was framed by Captain Syrup in revenge for taking back Bottomless Coin Sack, resulting in them hiding in Vacuo for the time being. Thankfully, as of the end of MAJC: The Great Cave Offensive, their names were fully cleared thanks to Sae and Makoto.
  • The Leader: Anthony, who also doubles as The Smart Guy.
  • The Lancer: Camrin.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: The team gets their collected treasure stolen by Gloria as payback for what they did to her in the Isle of Armor.
  • The Sixth Ranger: Chloe and Zoey.
  • Team Pet: Spheal.

     Mona Violeta

Mona Violeta

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/super_rwby_sisters___mona_violeta_by_darkrebellion04_dgbkvh9.png
Courtesy of darkrebellion04 on DeviantArt.

An incredibly strong nomad from Vacuo who once believed she was a Faunus. Loves to collect various "shiny" things as mementos of adventures. After being kicked out of her home by prejudiced residents, she lived in a cave until meeting Camrin, a partnership that blossomed into love.

  • Action Girl: What do you expect from the resident brawn of MAJC?
  • Action Survivor: Managed to live on her own in the desert kingdom of Vacuo for years after her exile before she met Camrin.
  • Battle Couple: With Camrin.
  • The Big Guy: Does most of the fighting and heavy lifting for her team.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Has a fixation on collecting ‘shiny’ things and seems to believe she is a Faunus. When you find out the reason for the latter, it becomes a Tearjerker. The former shows surprising Hidden Depths.
  • Didn't Think This Through: She eats cheese from a treasure chest and points out to her friends that eating cheese from a treasure chest is no different than eating Super Mushrooms out of ? Blocks. However, she's soon met with food poisoning shortly after which knocks her out for a while.
  • Dumb Muscle: Mona is... not the sharpest tool in the shed. That said, she’s known as the brawn of MAJC for her seemingly superhuman strength.
  • Grievous Harm with a Body: For ranged combat, Mona uses whatever isn’t nailed down to throw at enemies. This includes other enemies.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: Mona’s main method of fighting is to pummel her enemies into submission with hard-hitting punches.
  • Hidden Depths: Her reasons for hoarding 'shiny' things show Mona has some surprising maturity, as she keeps them as mementos of all the adventures and good times she has with her team and the other characters.
  • Iron Woobie: Being kicked out of her hometown and forced to live on her own hasn’t dampened her spirit, for Mona seems to be well-adjusted despite her living situation.
  • Machete Mayhem: Aside from Good Old Fisticuffs, Mona uses a machete to fight.
  • Strong, but Unskilled: While Mona doesn’t have the finesse in comparison to other fighters, she more than makes up for it in raw power.
  • Squashed Flat: What happens when you give Mona a Bulk Star and she has no idea what to do with it? A lot of crushed Atlesian Soldiers! They make it out okay, but their pride? Not so much.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Camrin. Not even the Bottomless Coin Sack offered to her by the Shake King could make her turn on him.
  • You Can't Go Home Again: Mona was raised by a family friend who was a Faunus like her father. Because Mona didn’t believe that the Faunus prejudice was more than a myth, she didn’t think there would be any problem with telling her neighbors about what she believed was her real race. This resulted in Mona being kicked out of her hometown and left in the deserts of Vacuo to fend for herself.

A former thief from Vale who targeted the Schnee Dust Company out of revenge. Many tried to claim Jacques’ bounty, but all failed against him. Joining the team to offer his services to Camrin, he's the brains of the operation cooking up plans for the team's heists.

  • Abusive Parents: While his mother was a good woman, his father devoted every cent of his wages working for SDC towards research and development on a Dust Staff, forcing Anthony into thievery to support his mother.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: The reason Anthony was able to survive for as long as he did as a fugitive was being able to understand the Semblances of other hunters and huntresses and come up with a plan for how to counter them.
  • Battle Couple: With Jen.
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight: As revealed in JINX It!, Anthony's mother died in his arms the night her son lost his eye.
  • Eye Scream: As revealed in Operation: Winter Moonlight, Anthony lost his left eye to one of the hunters that went to try and collect the bounty on him, the eyepatch driving his desire for Revenge on Jacques even further.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Wears one of these, though it’s not for the visual aesthetic.
  • Gentleman Thief: Part of his Red Baron title. It’s later revealed that Anthony didn’t want to become a thief, but didn’t have much of a choice for it was the only way he could support himself and his mother.
  • I Owe You My Life: Has this attitude towards Nyx. He cites Nyx as the reason he was able to get his life back on track, and as such, feels obligated to prevent Nyx from going down a similar dark path that he once walked.
  • The Leader: His position in MAJC, also doubles as The Smart Guy.
  • Red Baron: The Gentleman Thief of Remnant.
  • Revenge: His primary motivation for his heisting against the Schnee Dust Company, as his father who worked for them focused most of his wages on research and development for the Dust Staff that Anthony uses (which he stole), leaving Anthony and his mother to fend for themselves. Jacques Schnee put out a bounty on Anthony’s head, leading to countless teams in Remnant to hunt him down dead or alive, with one of them even costing Anthony an eye.
  • The Smart Guy: The leading strategist for MAJC’s missions, also doubles as The Leader.
  • Thou Shalt Not Kill: When he was a thief, Anthony had a personal policy of never taking a life, since he believes there are some things even a thief shouldn’t steal. He still holds this belief.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With Jen at first.

An energetic gunslinger from Vale who took up arms as a vigilante. Relentlessly hunted Anthony, but has since developed feelings for him. Growing up in a crime-infested part of the kingdom, Jen took matters into her own hands with her parents' help.

  • Battle Couple: With Anthony.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: As it can be inferred, Jen was one of the many hunters and huntresses who pursued Anthony for the bounty on his head. It can also be inferred he’s defeated her before, and now they’re working together.
  • The Gunslinger: Is the main ranged combatant of MAJC, wielding a pair of .44 magnum revolvers named Judge and Jury, a reference to her Vigilante Woman status before joining MAJC.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While abrasive towards Anthony and having a bit of annoyance towards Mona for her belief that she’s a Faunus, Jen is a reliable member of the team who cares for her partners.
  • Inspector Javert: Had this attitude towards Anthony at the start, often referring to him as ‘my criminal’. She’s since softened her stance on him once he asked her what ‘true justice’ really means to her.
  • Power-Up: In MAJC: The Great Cave Offensive, Jen gains access to magic based on the four seasons thanks to the Seasons Heart Treasure. She also gains the title of Gun Maiden in the process (that she gave herself).
    • However, she can only use this magic through her guns as Zoey discovered.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With Anthony and Mona, at first.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: She did this during Super RWBY Sunshine when she learned about Mona being exiled from her hometown and after Anthony talked with her about what justice truly means to her.
  • Vigilante Woman: While she has respect for due process, Jen believes that it takes too long sometimes, and becomes a vigilante as a result. Later revealed in Chapter 66 of Gaiden that the city Jen grew up in was riddled with crime and had minimal to no oversight, which led to her decision to become this.

     Camrin Brooks

Camrin Brooks

The founder of Team MAJC. A treasure hunter from Windpath whose curiosity knows no bounds. Has an older sister named Chloe. Left a great fortune by his family, he left home to seek out his inheritance across Remnant.

  • Battle Couple: With Mona.
  • Brother–Sister Team: With Chloe when they’re working together on a mission.
  • Fiction 500: Comes from a wealthy family of treasure hunters living in Windpath, whose wealth includes various vaults of treasure scattered across Remnant, which turns out to be Camrin’s inheritance. He shares this trait with his sister Chloe.
  • The Lancer: Serves as this in Team MAJC even though he was the one who founded the team.
  • Le Parkour: His main strengths involve freerunning and acrobatics to get from one place to the next in a timely fashion.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He's the Red Oni to Chloe's Blue Oni.
  • Weak, but Skilled: In direct combat, Camrin isn’t as good as the other members of his team. However, his main strengths lie in his ability to free run and mobility, allowing him to perform acrobatic feats that others would be incapable of doing.

     Chloe Brooks

Chloe Brooks

A nurse without borders from Windpath, known for her brutal honesty in giving advice to patients. Has a younger brother named Camrin. Was opposed to her brother's reckless adventure at first, but has since warmed up to the idea of being a part of the team out of interest for keeping Camrin safe.

  • Brother–Sister Team: With Camrin when they’re working together on a mission.
  • Brutal Honesty: Chloe doesn't mince words when it comes to her professional opinions of others. She explains in the Isle of Armor that she doesn't pull any punches when giving advice, stating that giving faulty guidance would be the worst thing she could ever do to someone.
  • Fiction 500: Comes from a wealthy family of treasure hunters living in Windpath. She shares this trait with her brother Camrin.
  • The Medic: Works as a traveling nurse across Remnant, as opposed to being a treasure hunter like her brother.
  • Playing with Syringes: Her ranged weapons are syringes filled with drugs that inflict ‘fun’ ailments on those hit with them.
  • Power-Up: Chole obtains the Power Paintbrush to use during MAJC: The Great Cave Offensive.
  • The Sneaky Gal: When on missions, Chloe prefers a more stealth-oriented approach.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: She's the Blue Oni to Camrin's Red Oni.
  • Retractable Weapon: Wields a halberd for melee encounters that collapses into a scalpel for ease of carrying.

The housekeeper for the Brooks family and caretaker of Camrin and Chloe. Trained by Atlas military, she is an exceptional sharpshooter and fighter whenever Team MAJC needs her the most. Originally taking her maid job to support her family, she has grown to be a member of the team out of a love for adventure.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Refers to the male members of MAJC as "Master" and the female members as "Mistress".
  • Friendly Sniper: Wields a Blaser R93 sniper rifle as her ranged weapon, is a very good shot with, it, and is very warm and kind towards her teammates.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: Seen as this when MAJC is concerned. Her creator once called her the team’s ‘carry’ when the situation calls for it. Her being Atlas military-trained would certainly explain this, among other things.
  • Mama Bear: While not blood-related, she is this towards her charges Camrin and Chloe. If she senses they are in danger, she will drop everything to go help them. It's further explained when she reveals in Isle of Armor that she grew to appreciate and care for the two like a mom since they allow her to scratch her adventurous itch with them in the field.
  • Ninja Maid: Is the Brooks family cleaning lady, and a very competent fighter to boot.
  • Power-Up: Zoey obtains a replica of the Falchion and Warrior Shield to use during MAJC: The Great Cave Offensive.
  • Shock and Awe: Her melee weapon of choice is a steel baton that also functions as a cattle prod disguised as a feather duster.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Camrin and Chloe.

Team LAFF (Lakefront)

  • As a Whole:
    • Adorably Precocious Child: They're a group of elementary school-aged children who hold a high sense of fairness and justice as much as they aim to become Huntsmen and Huntresses in the future.
    • Beware the Nice Ones: They don't take kindly to anyone who discriminates against the Faunus and bullies defenseless creatures, such as the Pokémon.
    • Kid Hero: All of them are aspiring Huntsmen and Huntresses who are eight years of age.
    • Nice Guy: They're the most friendly and approachable young children you'll ever meet.
    • Running Gag: Their team name is often mispronounced as "Laugh" instead of "Lakefront". To be fair, the way LAFF was spelled can lead it to be easily pronounced as "laugh".

     Laura Winchester

An academic prodigy, she is the leader in blue who does her best to fulfill her duty to lead her team well by example, ensure the safety of her friends, and make fair decisions that everyone can agree upon on a mutual level. Her optimism combined with her sense of justice knows no bounds.

  • Aura Vision: Her Semblance, dubbed as "Ecto-Vision", counts as this. As such, her Semblance grants her the ability to sense people's aura signatures, thus allowing her to see and read their emotions, health status, and power level based on the wavelength pattern and color intensity of their auras.
  • Best Friend: She and Magnolia are considered to be best friends together.
  • Big Brother Worship: She highly looks up to Cardin as her older brother, even often calling him "big bro".
  • The Cameo: Laura had an unnamed cameo during the 75th chapter of Super RWBY Gaiden while watching Cardin perform during the live stream of Sea5ons' debut.
  • Cheerful Child: It's not hard to say that she's quite a cheerful and optimistic little girl.
  • Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: She's implied to suffer this during the beginning of the 183rd chapter of Gaiden. Despite her impressive Improbably High I.Q., excellent school grades, and dream to become a Huntress... Laura has no idea what kind of person she truly wants and expects herself to be in life.
  • Disappeared Dad: Her father, Jason Winchester, passed away from a case of stroke years before the story.
  • Dual Wielding: She wields a pair of twin titanium-bladed wakizashi with glowing blue ridges called "Shimada". The weapons even have Kanji symbols that depict the seven virtues of the Japanese bushidonote  etched on each of the blades.
  • Famous Ancestor: Like her mother and older brother, Laura's ancestor is Levy McGarden. In turn, Levy's marriage with Gajeel Rexfox along with the split bloodline of their family also makes her and Cardin related to James Ironwood as their uncle, to Esdeath as their adoptive cousin, and to Mercury Black as their long-lost cousin.
  • Hostage Situation: Laura gets captured by Space Pirates during the invasion of Radiant Garden together with Nesta. Luckily, she and her mother later get rescued by her brother and the other heroes in Galactic Conquest.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Despite being a highly intelligent girl who is often at the top of her class and receives straight-A's in her school work, she secretly shows a great dislike toward her current standing as a top-ranking honor student in her school as her peers often admire her too much for it to the point where she flunks most of her tests on purpose and sees her own Improbably High I.Q. as both a blessing and a curse.
  • Improbably High I.Q.: She has an impressive I.Q. of 175 based on an I.Q. test she took before.
  • The Leader: She's the leader of Team LAFF.
    • She's also the leader of the temporarily formed Team LASO (Lasso) with Anya, Albedo, and Oran as her teammates during ATMC: Skyward Sword.
  • Like Parent, Unlike Child: Unlike her late father, Laura never shows any form of hatred or discrimination towards Faunus as much as she's close friends and classmates with two Faunus children her age.
  • Never Bareheaded: She's rarely seen without her beanie off.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: After getting tired of her status as a constant honor student at school, she tried flunking most of her tests on purpose and even intentionally getting zeroes on all of her standardized tests in a desperate attempt to get her peers off her back and maybe even get herself kicked out of school... but Run saw through this act as he changed the results of her standardized tests from 0 to 100 because he correctly deduced the fact that the only way how Laura got all of the answers wrong is that she knew which answers were correct.
  • Occult Blue Eyes: Her indigo-blue eyes glow while her sclera turns black whenever she uses her Ecto-Vision Semblance.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: She and Damian Desmond often get into a lot of squabbles at school, usually by trading petty yet harmless insults and competing against each other in dodgeball during recess.
  • Team Pet: Bobby (Wynaut), Cyfrin (Shiny Ralts → Kirlia).
    • She receives an Anjanath named Jana as a gift from Cardin at the end of RWBY: Wings of Ruin.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Ramen and gyoza. She would even store a cup of instant ramen inside her beanie!
  • Tsundere: She's a Type B whereas she's generally a kind and compassionate sweetheart towards her friends, but is particularly harsh towards Damian, for understandable reasons:
  • Wise Beyond Her Years: Zig-zagged. For the most part, Laura surprisingly acts rather intelligent and mature for an eight-year-old girl whenever she's with her friends, yet she still retains a good deal of child-like innocence and cheerfulness just like most children her age as much as tends to get into petty and childish yet harmless squabbles with Damian Desmond whenever she's at school.

An expert at theater arts, deception, and trap-making who shows great pride, knowledge, and skill in his fields of expertise in and out of the team. He can be a bit of a showoff at times, but he'll always be there to help out his friends no matter what.

  • Affectionate Nickname: He's often called "Al" by Laura.
  • Anti-Magic: His Semblance, Nullification, grants him the ability to temporarily cancel out a person's Semblance or superpowers at a single gaze as long as they're in his line of sight. Not to mention that it somehow also weakens a person's Aura too.
  • Best Friend: He and Nick are best buds with each other.
  • Flechette Storm: His secondary main weapon is "Namikaze", which is a bundle of kunai blades with Dust-based sealing tags.
  • Mystical White Hair: He has white-colored hair just like his older sister, Blanche.
  • Power-Up: His first primary weapon is "Kushinada", which is a jagged machete that can be converted into a naginata simply by extending the handle of the weapon. He obtains it during JINXY: Forgotten Land.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Inverted. He may have red eyes, but he's sure by no means a bad person.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: He was on the receiving end of this from Laura in the 183rd chapter of Gaiden when he left Nick alone to guard the Dust shipment crates out of boredom, which eventually led his best friend to be easily knocked unconscious by Syura. Luckily for him, Nick was quick enough to forgive him for this.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: He's afraid of insects, especially around Bug-type Pokémon such as Beedrill.

     Nick Foxtrot

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/super_rwby_sisters___nick_foxtrot_by_darkrebellion04_dfihbl1_38.png

The oldest of the Foxtrot Twins, he is a mischievous, free-spirited, and fun-loving yet impulsive, chaotic, and reckless boy who loves to goof off and mess around with others. However, he surprisingly shows impressive efficiency in combat and intuition towards his friends thanks to his keen sense of heart when things get serious.

  • Affectionate Nickname: He's often called "Nicky" by Laura.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Despite their bickering, it's pretty obvious that he and Magnolia deeply care and love each other as twin siblings.
  • Best Friend: He and Albedo are best buds with each other.
  • Book Dumb: Let's say that he's not quite the best whenever schoolwork is involved.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: His Semblance, Geobond, is an earth manipulation-based Semblance that grants him the ability to control mud, soil, clay, or rocks and shape them into whatever solid construct he desires.
  • Easily Forgiven: Despite being knocked out by Syura after Albedo left him alone to guard the Dust shipment crates in the Vale docks, Nick was somewhat quick enough to forgive his best friend for his actions whilst also admitting that being on guard duty can be such a boring job.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: He's the loud, energetic, and academically lazy older twin brother to his composed, prudent, and responsible younger twin sister, Magnolia.
  • Fox Folk: He's a bat-eared fox Faunus.
  • Half-Identical Twins: He's like this with his younger twin sister, Magnolia. Except that two different types of fox Faunus have different hairstyles.
  • Improbable Weapon User: His primary weapon is a kendama made from hard buloke wood and a magnesium-based alloy dubbed as "Loki". For the most part, he can use the "ball" part of the kendama as a flail and have it infused with Dust-based elemental powers via the string that connects to an inner Dust compartment in the "hammer" part, but he mostly uses Loki whenever he needs to concentrate on using his Semblance.
  • Kids Hate Vegetables: Hates vegetables with a passion, saying that eating them is just like "eating cardboard". This was demonstrated in the final chapter of JINXY and the Forgotten Land when he intentionally missed out on the tomatoes, lettuce, and onions in the cheeseburger he was eating, much to his twin sister's ire.
  • Oh, Crap!: Has this moment when the Fecto-possessed Esdeath insulted his sister by calling her "Foxface", which causes her to become a raging traumatized mess and become possessed by Fecto into attacking him and the others when he took advantage of this.

     Magnolia Foxtrot

The youngest of the Foxtrot Twins and a former victim of bullying, she is often described by her friends as the one who has the most attitude on the team. While normally calm and collected, she can be easily prone to angry and violent outbursts when ticked off and demonstrates strong physical prowess in battle.

  • Affectionate Nickname: She's often affectionately called either "Maggie" or "Maggs" by her friends.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Despite their bickering, it's pretty obvious that she and Nick deeply care and love each other as twin siblings.
  • Bespectacled Cutie: She's a cute elementary school-aged Faunus girl wearing glasses.
  • Best Friend: She and Laura are considered to be best friends together.
  • The Dreaded: Apparently, there was a major incident that took place in Hathaway a few years ago during the time Magnolia and her friends were in the first grade that caused nearly every student in her school to fear her as the Demon Fox of Hathaway.
  • Dual Wielding: She wields a pair of sai-tonfa hybrid weapons called "Hinokami", wherein the blunt end of the tonfas that are held can be used to store Dust and beat up people, and the sai blades can be popped out by pushing a button and are infused with different types of effects with Dust.
  • Enraged by Idiocy: According to her, she often gets exasperated by the countless pranks Nick and Albedo pull off at school as much as she often has to try bailing them out of trouble and then giving them an earful afterward.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: She's the composed, prudent, and responsible younger twin sister to her loud, energetic, and academically lazy older twin brother, Nick.
  • Fox Folk: She's a cape fox Faunus.
  • Half-Identical Twins: She's like this with her older twin brother, Nick. Except that two different types of fox Faunus have different hairstyles.
  • Heat Wave: Her Semblance is this, where she can manipulate the heat temperature on the area around her in such a small yet significant radius. Essentially, this also grants her the ability to make things catch on fire or heat things whenever she physically touches the surface of an object.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: Magnolia (8) has developed a good handful of close friendships with the likes of Yang Xiao Long (17), Coco Adel (18), and the Ayami sisters (17) so far.
  • The Lancer: She's the second-in-command of Team LAFF.
  • The Leader: She's the leader of the temporarily-formed Team MNBL (Mandible) with her brother, Becky, and Logue as her teammates during CFVY: Rise of the Mammalians.
  • Power-Up: She gets the wakizashi version of the Splatana Wiper from Sheldon called "Splatizashi Wiper" at Ammo Knights after she and the others arrive at Splatsville in the 2nd chapter of CFVY: Rise of the Mammalians.
  • Team Pet: Alayta (Numel)
    • She would later obtain a Cyndaquil, which was given to her by Yang when she returned from the past in the Hisui Region.
  • Trauma Button: She becomes a traumatized sobbing mess then flies into a fit of blind rage whenever someone insults her by calling her "Foxface". It's implied that she developed this sometime during her time in the first grade because of bullying and racism... but the full story behind it has yet to be explained.
  • Trauma Conga Line: Poor girl couldn't catch a break during her time in the 1st grade... First, she was a frequent victim of bullying and racism from a trio of rich Alpha Bitch girls from the 2nd grade simply for being a Faunus. Her parents then went through a separation-turned-divorce as her father left home with her mother taking custody of her and Nick. Unfortunately, when the news of her parent's divorce reached her bullies at school, they decided to kick their bullying up a notch by becoming more physical with Magnolia, which resulted in them being on the receiving end of a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown from her after they stepped on her ruby pendulum necklace, which was a birthday gift from her father. While the bullies thankfully got expelled from Hathaway as a consequence for their Bully Brutality towards Magnolia, the latter still got suspended for a few weeks at school for her display of violence even though it was understandable and was feared by nearly every student in Hathaway even up to this day, hence her infamous title "The Demon Fox of Hathaway". What's even worse is that she rarely smiled for the rest of the 1st grade and even developed a Trauma Button over the word "Foxface", an insulting nickname which she was often called by her former bullies. Ouch...
  • Traumatic Superpower Awakening: She unlocked her Semblance in a fit of grief and rage when one of her bullies in the 1st grade destroyed her ruby pendulum necklace, which was a birthday gift from her father and her last form of emotional connection with him, right in front of her.
  • Unaffected by Spice: She can eat a Superspicy Curry and other spicy foods without even getting a reaction from them.

Unsorted Humans

     Nesta Winchester

Nesta Winchester

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/super_rwby_sisters___nesta_winchester_by_darkrebellion04_dfw7xr1_9.png
Courtesy of darkrebellion04 on DeviantArt.

A descendant of Levy McGarden, she is a sweet-natured and well-rounded academic whose love for books and research is matched by her ancestor's. She may be a widow and a single mother, but she does her best to raise her children in and out of home with love and care. And unlike her late husband, Jason Winchester, she never shows any form of racial prejudice towards the Faunus as much as she also treats them as equals.

  • Bespectacled Cutie: She wears a pair of glasses that complement her sweet nature and beautiful appearance.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Anyone who misses out on their studies or vandalizes the library she works at, will make sure they won't forget and learn their lesson hard.
  • The Cameo: Nesta had an unnamed cameo during the 75th chapter of Super RWBY Gaiden while watching Cardin perform during the live stream of Sea5ons' debut.
  • Cute Bookworm: Not only does she love books like Levy, but she's also the head librarian of the McGarden Library in Vale and is quite beautiful.
  • Education Mama: Defied big time. Because of Laura's Improbably High I.Q., you might think at first that she may be the type of parent who constantly pressures their child to do well in school while setting high expectations for them... but nope! It is implied that while she may be aware of Laura's high intelligence, she lets her only daughter independently decide her path in the future while also wanting her to grow up experiencing a normal childhood life first before anything else.
  • Famous Ancestor: Like her children, Nesta's ancestor is Levy McGarden. In turn, Levy's marriage with Gajeel Rexfox along with the split bloodline of their family also makes her related to James Ironwood as her cousin, to Esdeath her adoptive niece, and Mercury Black as her long-lost nephew.
  • Good Parents: Despite being a widow, Nesta is described as a kind, caring, humble, protective, and loving single mother towards her children.
  • Hostage Situation: Nesta gets captured by Space Pirates during the invasion of Radiant Garden together with Laura. Luckily, she and her daughter later get freed by her son and the heroes in the Galactic Conquest.
  • Motherly Side Plait: Nesta sports this kind of hairstyle, which reflects her character as a supportive, understanding, and generally sweet-natured single mother towards Cardin, Laura, and then later, Masaru Daimon, her new foster son.
  • Opposites Attract: Despite their conflicting mindsets towards the Faunus, Nesta, and Jason still loved each other dearly even after the latter's untimely death before the story.
  • Runic Magic: Nesta's Semblance counts as this, allowing her to create and use runic texts that materialize into their respective depicted forms (i.e. writing a "barrier" rune would create a barrier).
  • Tsundere: A familial example with her cousin, Gen. James Ironwood. While she obviously cares a lot about Ironwood, she can easily get irritated with him whenever she sees him act stubbornly or do something she doesn't like right in front of her.
  • Words Can Break My Bones: Although she can create runic texts as part of her Semblance, she's also capable of creating giant letters that can take on the properties of what's written (i.e. writing "Bridge" would create a bridge that can help anyone cross over large gaps easily, writing "Wall" would create a protective wall that can block incoming attacks, etc.) just like Levy's Solid Script.

A calm and soft-spoken 17-year-old introverted artist with a stoic and demure yet kind, strong, passionate, and selfless disposition. She often has trouble communicating with other people except her childhood friend, Cardin Winchester, her younger brother, Albedo, her classmates, Sayo and Ieyasu, and also her parents. Moreover, she often gets misunderstood whenever she talks to someone else.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Ieyasu often calls her "B" as a nickname.
  • Artists Are Attractive: She's a freelance artist who's often noted to be described as "beautiful" by her peers.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Blanche is quite intolerant towards people who support the idea of humans supposedly being the most superior race over the Faunus.
  • Childhood Friends: With Cardin Winchester, of all people.
  • D-Cup Distress: She's uncomfortable and embarrassed by how naturally big her breasts are.
  • Gravity Master: Her Semblance, Zero Gravity, allows her to make anything weightless and lose its gravitational pull when she touches them with her hands/fingertips and says "null". However, if she wants to release the floating objects, she has to clasp her hands together and say "release", causing them to regain their normal weight and fall to the ground. However, the heavier the object is or the more objects she has under the influence of her Semblance, the more dizzy and nauseous she'll get, even to the point of vomiting, as much as she'll struggle to keep them afloat.
  • Mystical White Hair: She has white-colored hair just like her younger brother, Albedo.
  • Nice Girl: Once you get to know her better after getting past her introverted and demure exterior, she's quite a sweet and friendly girl.
  • Not So Stoic: While normally calm and stoic, she can still smile whenever she feels happy and can get easily flustered whenever her Reluctant Fanservice Girl status comes into play. Albedo also mentioned that she used to scream her head off in fear every time she saw her younger brother bring home a puppy because of her cynophobia.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Inverted. She may have red eyes, but she's sure by no means a bad person.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: She's noted by some of her friends to be quite attractive and curvaceous by feminine standards... yet she tends to be very self-conscious and timid around herself.
  • Shrinking Violet: Downplayed. While she may be an introverted girl who prefers to stay in her room at home and work on her commissioned art projects for various clients, she doesn't mind hanging out with her friends in and out of school from time to time.
  • Two Girls and a Guy: Shares this dynamic with Sayo and Ieyasu where she and Sayo are the "two girls" to Ieyasu's "one guy" within their friend group.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She's deathly afraid of dogs, especially other canids such as wolves, due to being bitten by one when she tried petting it back when she and Cardin were little. Canid Faunus such as dog and wolf Faunus are exempt from this, however.

     Zhanglao "Zhang" Taiyang Xiao Long

Zhanglao Taiyang Xiao Long

  • The Cameo: He first appeared unnamed in Super RWBY Gaiden Chapter 98 as one of the hostages but was asleep.
  • Cool Old Guy: Despite his age, and many injuries he is still able to fight like he used to. Even going as far as to beat up some space pirates who were about to kill his fellow hostages, helping in the fight against Phantoom, and joining in with everyone else in the final battle during Galaxy 2. And remember, most of those fighters were several decades younger than him.
  • Hostage Situation: He was captured by the Space Pirates during the invasion of Radiant Garden but was later freed.
  • Meaningful Name: Yang's full name is based on the Chinese word for "Sunny Dragon", and Tai's full name is based on the Chinese word for "Elder Sun Dragon". Zhang's full name is based on the Chinese word for "Grand Elder Sun Dragon".
  • Miniature Senior Citizens: The Disney chapter reveals that he's short enough to be kept off certain rides due to height restrictions.
  • My Greatest Failure: It is revealed that Zhang had a falling out with Tai after both Summer and Raven had left him, with him telling Tai that every girl he dated would end up leaving him or would end up dying. But nearly a decade later he and his wife argued against seeing Tai again, only for his wife to end up being close to death due to her Pneumonia. Something he considers to be his greatest failure due to the regret he feels over what had happened.

     Luce de Consantoir

Luce de Consantoir

  • Cool Old Lady: Despite her age and currently being confined to a hospital bed, it is hinted that she can still fight like she used to. She even challenges Zhang to a fight after she is cleared to go out of the hospital.
  • Dating Catwoman: During the flashback in Chapter 117 of Super RWBY Gaiden, it was shown that she and Zhang clashed while Zhang was escorting Fria to Atlas. During that fight, it was shown that the two were quite flirtatious with each other. This grew over time, with the two getting into a lot more fights over the years. Eventually, this cumulates in the two falling for each other, Zhang taking Luce away from her former life, and the two getting married.
  • Ironic Name: Knowing her origins, her name becomes ironic when you know that she grew up in a family of assassins for hire after the Great War. Especially when one of her targets was Fria, who was the current Winter Maiden when she was younger.
  • Meaningful Name: Her first name Luce means light in Italian, while her last name "de Consantoir" means "protector of" in Irish. So in full, her name would mean "Protector of Light".
  • Never Mess with Granny: Her proper introduction chapter showed that even when old and stuck in a hospital bed, she could still beat Zhang with his walking cane over his foolishness. Afterward, she proceeded to throw the cane into Qrow's face for calling her old.

     Cordelia Brooks

Cordelia Brooks

Cordelia Brooks is the mother of Camrin and Chloe Brooks and a Hunstman. She appears during a Salmon Run, investigating Mr. Grizz during the events of CFVY: Rise of the Mammalians.

  • Action Mom: She is a capable Huntress and parent. For example, her debut has her kicking Salmonid tail in the Salmon Run.
  • Badass Normal: Just like her kids, she doesn’t have a semblance, and instead relies on her inventions, strength, and finesse
  • Family Business: Cordelia, and by extension Camrin and Chloe, come from a long line of treasure hunters, with all three of them having followed in the footsteps of their ancestors.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: She is an eccentric inventor who is capable of creating a ton of inventions that she uses for the good of others.
  • Good Parents: Despite all the time she spend inventing and on the road for missions, she still cares a ton for her kids and even used her inventing skills to build toys for them during their childhood.
  • Old Money: She and in turn, the family managed to inherit most of their wealth due to coming from a long line of treasure hunters.
  • Taught by Experience: She used the experience of having lost several teammates over the years to fuel her drive to invent and keep her current allies alive.
  • Wealthy Philanthropist: Due to all the inventions she’s made over the years, she was able to make a lot of money, enough money in fact to keep Grizz Corp in business after it got shut down.

     Mine & Kotoko's Parents

Angelico Strauss & Elisheba "Eli" Strauss

  • The Cameo: Eli was mentioned once by Kotoko in the 16th chapter of ATMC: Skyward Sword along with her husband. It wasn't until Chapter 246 of Super RWBY Gaiden that they made their proper debut and physical appearance.
  • Good Parents: They may be busy with work at times, but there's no doubt that both Angelico and Eli are very loving and doting parents towards Mine and Kotoko. Even better, both of them have also proved themselves to be much better parents than their adoptive younger daughter's birth parents considering her backstory.

     The Black Knight

Black Knight / Kazuto / Guts / Kirito

  • Composite Character: He is a combination of Kirigaya Kazuto/Kirito and Guts from both Sword Art Online and Berserk.
  • Incurable Cough of Death: Kazuto had an unknown fatal disease that was slowly killing him. He preferred fighting to the death than waiting for the disease to kill him.
  • The Hero Dies: He meets his end at the hands of the Champion Red after it fatally wounded him.
  • The Protagonist: He is the main character for Super RWBY Gaiden's 256th chapter.

A deer Faunus who's a nurse-in-training, Whitley's girlfriend, and the second-in-command slash head choreographer of Sea5ons. Whitley first met her when he tried to defend her from a small group of bullies in Toad Town. Outside of medicine and music, she also shows a huge fascination with flowers, often describing them as "a beautiful species in this world".

  • Anywhere but Their Lips: She gives one to Whitley as thanks for saving her from Seryu.
  • Arch-Enemy: She's seen as this to Aria; a primary obstacle and bitter rival for Whitley's love. Though knowing Aria... It's one-sided on her part as Ling mostly sees her as a dangerous enemy she shouldn't take lightly as much as she doesn't even bother to try to "compete" with the grave robber given how she's already in a romantic relationship with Whitley, to begin with.
  • Bambification: She's a sweet and kind deer Faunus (or a doe Faunus in her case) with a deer tail as her main Faunus feature.
  • Cool Shades: She wears a pair of white sunglasses with green-yellow lenses on top of her head.
  • First Friend: She is the first friend Whitley has and an important one for him.
  • Given Name Reveal: Her surname was revealed to be "Amaryllis" as of the 75th chapter in Gaiden.
  • Interspecies Romance: He's a deer Faunus girl who's currently dating Whitley, a human boy.
  • The Lancer: Ling is often described as the second-in-command and head choreographer of Sea5ons.
  • The Medic: She's a nurse-in-training with a flower-associated Semblance that has healing properties.
  • Official Couple: She and Whitley become one as of RWBY: The Crown Tundra.
  • Petal Power: Her Semblance, Flower Protectionnote , allows her to protect and heal people.
  • Team Pet: Wyrdeer, which was given to her by Whitley when he returned from the past in the Hisui Region.
  • Telescoping Staff: Ling is given one from Whitley in the form of a bo staff. It also has a pocket compartment for storing seeds for Ling to use along with her Semblance.

The composer and songwriter of Sea5ons, Kokoro is an introverted musical prodigy whose love and passion for music knows no bounds. She started off as a very shy and quiet young Faunus with low self-esteem but soon developed a great deal of courage and confidence as she gradually became a lot more open with herself after meeting Chelsea.

  • Adorably Precocious Child: Although she's a 13-year-old ocelot Faunus girl with a cute and innocent-looking appearance, she's pretty much a responsible and earnest girl who voluntarily helps out at her former caretaker's bakery, often hangs around with people who are a few years older than her, and shows a great passion and knowledge for music.
  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: She often finds herself at the receiving end of this (getting her hair ruffled for the most part) by her older peers usually as a sign of their affection towards her.
  • Affectionate Nickname: The people who are close to her (i.e. Chelsea, Ling, Ruby, etc.) often call her "Kokoron". Ibuki on the other hand calls her "Koko-chan".
  • All-Loving Heroine: Qualifies as this. As such, Kokoro is a kindhearted and empathetic young teenager who's known to treat people well with love and respect, never once went out of her way to harm anyone out of spite, tries her best to see and bring out the best in others, and is willing to give former baddies like Seryu a second chance to redeem themselves.
    • Despite the verbal abuse she forced herself to endure from her abusive birth mother and the last conversation she had with her before she ran away from home, Kokoro admits that she could never bring herself to fully hate her as much as she still cares about her well-being.
    • Seryu nearly killed her during their first encounter together after the Sea5ons debut concert, even though it was under Adam's orders at that time. Regardless, Kokoro never bore any serious ill will towards the former mentally ill dog Faunus as she was quick to forgive her for her previous actions after the latter was put on probation.
    • Even when Masaru revealed himself to her as a former terrorist and mass murderer who killed his abusive birth father and countless innocent adults in the past, she did not think any less of him as her close friend/love interest as she understood why he did what he did right before opening up to him about her abusive past with her birth mother in Vacuo.
  • Alliterative Name: Kokoro Kinokoshi-Neves.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Being thirteen years old, she's the youngest member of Sea5ons.
  • Beautiful Singing Voice: Is known by some to have a near-professional level vocal range, as she regularly enjoys singing karaoke alone at Paratroopa Karaoke in Toad Town. This was first demonstrated in the 73rd chapter of Gaiden when Chelsea overheard Kokoro singing an impressive rendition of "Calling" at the karaoke bar, much to the former's surprise and awe.
  • Best Friend: Crossing over with Interspecies Friendship, she's best friends with Kotoko Utsugi, a human girl.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She may be a kind and forgiving sweetheart, but that doesn't stop her from standing up for herself and getting angry with other people whenever they do something seriously wrong.
  • Big Sister Worship: Despite not being biologically related, Kokoro looks up to Chelsea as an older sister figure.
  • Break the Cutie: Poor kid suffers this big time when Dimentio nearly sent her to her death by turning the Cosmic Clone Comet in Haunty Halls Galaxy into a Daredevil Comet, which in turn resurrects the Phazon-infused monsters in the aforementioned galaxy and immediately chased after her.
  • Broken Ace: Despite having an impressive singing voice, Kokoro shows severe social anxiety issues and tends to experience stage fright whenever she performs in front of a live audience. Luckily, she slowly gets better with the help of her new friends.
  • Cat Concerto: She's a young teenage ocelot Faunus with a near-professional level vocal range who demonstrates a passionate knowledge of music.
  • Chastity Couple: Downplayed. While she and Masaru may be a couple, most of their physical intimacy doesn't go beyond hugging, Holding Hands, and even kissing given how they're still quite young.
  • Commonality Connection: With Chelsea. This was even lampshaded in Chapter 170 of Super RWBY Gaiden where Yor notes that she and Chelsea both had experienced tragic childhoods due to having abusive and neglectful birth parents in Vacuo, which then caused them to run away from home at the age of 12 to 13. Heck, Kokoro also adds the fact that this could be one of the reasons why Chelsea felt attached to her and why both girls shared a deep sisterly bond ever since the first day they met.
  • Crush Blush: She becomes a blushing mess whenever her crush on Masaru Daimon is brought up.
  • Cry into Chest: She cries into Chelsea's chest after opening up to her about her abusive past with her mother in Vacuo. This happens again after she is rescued from being nearly killed by the Phazon-infused monsters that were resurrected from the Cosmic Clone-turned-Daredevil Comet in Haunty Halls Galaxy no thanks to Dimentio.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She ran away from her hometown in Vacuo with Yukina due to a strained relationship with her mother. At first, she was weakened and tired after running away. Luckily, she found help from a kind baker named Ms. Focaccia in Toad Town a few days after the Shroob invasion.
  • Dandere: Because of her past traumatic experience with her mother, she's normally described as an anti-social, quiet, and timid girl whenever she's alone in public areas or around strangers, yet she noticeably acts a bit more social, open, and outgoing whenever she's with her friends or with people she knows well. Though it's only when she joined Sea5ons together with Chelsea that she starts to slowly but surely break out of her shell.
  • Disappeared Dad: Her father passed away from an unknown illness many years before the events of the main story, thus leaving her to be raised by her mother, who unfortunately became abusive and neglectful towards her daughter after her husband passed away.
  • Dumb Struck: She suffered this from the start of Chapter 13 to the near end of Chapter 15 of Galaxy 2 ever since her traumatic near-death experience in Haunty Halls Galaxy in Chapter 12. She eventually starts to recover when Blake, Chelsea, and Cardin actively help her through her emotional trauma.
  • Everyone's Baby Sister: This is seen like this by almost everyone. She becomes one officially for Chelsea after being adopted by her mom Yor.
  • Family of Choice: Her relationship with her biological mother is strained, but she views the members of Sea5ons as her secondary family, especially Ms. Foccacia, Chelsea, and Cardin, who often act as her current parental figures. She later finds a new family that she can be happy with after being adopted by Yor in Chapter 170 of Super RWBY Gaiden.
  • Foil: Although it hasn't been directly stated yet, she serves as this towards Monaca Towa with the Warriors of Hope in many ways:
    • Monaca is a Green and Mean Bitch in Sheep's Clothing who seemingly acts kind and caring at first glance but is a sociopathic, manipulative, and heartless monster who loves to torment others, especially the Warriors of Hope, for her sadistic amusement. Kokoro is a heroic Nice Girl with a Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold who is genuinely kind and caring towards her new friends in the Warriors of Hope as much as she does her best to help them move on from their past traumas and crimes in Towa City.
    • Monaca mercilessly toys with the emotions and individual character flaws of the Warriors of Hope to her advantage while intentionally exploiting each of their respective trauma buttons to push them past their breaking points and make them do most of her dirty work in the process. Kokoro unconditionally supports the Warriors of Hope by doing her best to recognize each of their respective character flaws while encouraging her friends to overcome them to help each of them see the best parts of themselves.
    • Monaca prefers to let her "friends" do most of the fighting and mostly stays back on the sidelines whilst "cheering them on" and using trickery behind their backs. Kokoro isn't afraid to stand on the front lines together with her new friends and is always ready to risk her life for the safety and well-being of others when needed.
    • Monaca is outgoing and extroverted as much as she loves getting attention from others while Kokoro is demure and introverted as much as she easily gets flustered from any form of special attention she receives.
    • Monaca loves being treated like a princess by the Warriors of Hope as much as she relishes every single moment of it. Kokoro is content preferring to be treated like an equal by her new friends despite her current celebrity-level status.
    • Even though she may have faked it, Monaca was a wheelchair-bound and somewhat stationary fighter who couldn't even fight back by herself as much as she usually relied on remote-controlled robots to do the fighting for her. On the other hand, Kokoro is a physically capable and fairly athletic fighter who can be capable of fighting back by herself through the use of a handheld weapon and her Semblance.
    • Both girls had abusive birth parents. However, Monaca was an illegitimate child who was abused and hated by her birth father and older half-brother from the very beginning, while Kokoro had birth parents who loved and raised her well since birth... until her birth mother soon became verbally and emotionally abusive towards her after her husband died.
  • Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: She may be an introverted and demure yet kindhearted and compassionate girl who loves singing, playing the piano, and baking sweets for the most part, but she can also be quite passionate when it comes to Pokémon Battles as much as she's not afraid to stand in the front lines and defend the people she cares about.
  • Happily Adopted: In the 170th chapter of Gaiden, she gets adopted by Yor after she feels sympathetic towards her tragic backstory and sees a Commonality Connection of sorts between her and Chelsea. Essentially, this makes Kokoro happy to have another motherly figure other than Ms. Focaccia who loves and cares for her and to find Chelsea as her new adoptive older sister.
  • Hidden Depths: For an introverted girl who grew up with classical music, she seems to be a fan of listening and singing along to any upbeat pop, techno, rock, and hip-hop music playing from the official soundtrack of The World Ends with You.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: Downplayed. While the age gap isn't that big, Kokoro (13) shares a close sister-like bond with Chelsea (17) of Team ATMC due to their shared interests in music and singing as of the 73rd chapter of Gaiden. This later extends to Blake (17), Cardin (17), Ibuki (early 20s), and Leone (early 20s).
  • Interspecies Romance: She's an ocelot Faunus girl currently dating Masaru, a human boy.
  • Light 'em Up: Her Semblance, Photon Burst, counts as this. Her Semblance allows her to manipulate light particles and use them to illuminate dark areas. She also can materialize the light particles into flash grenades in threatening situations, or as a flashlight to light her way through a dark cave or a dark street if the power goes out. She's also quick enough to get the light particles before they burn out.
  • Luminescent Blush: She's quite prone to this, especially whenever someone gushes over her adorable little sister-like vibes, openly praises her impressive musical talents, or teases her for having a crush on Masaru.
  • Nice Girl: Fittingly enough for a sweet and kindhearted Faunus girl whose name is loosely based on the phrase "heart gold", she doesn't have a single mean bone in her body.
  • Official Couple: She and Masaru became one as of Super RWBY Gaiden Chapter 223.
  • Older Than They Look: Despite being in her early teens, Kokoro's child-like face and petite build make her look more like a preteen girl.
  • Opposites Attract: She's a calm and reserved girl dating Masaru, a loud and outgoing boy.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: Her dirty brown hair starts developing small but noticeable streaks of dirty blonde after using her Bulb Berry form for a significant amount of time. Her hair permanently becomes dirty blonde (with her eyes also turning golden yellow) from the powerful amounts of solar energy radiating from both her Bulb Berry form and Helios' Recurve in the 22nd chapter of Super RWBY 3D Land.
  • Power-Up: The Bulb Berry she got from Haunty Halls Galaxy enhances her Semblance as she's able to produce more than one flash grenade that's enough to stun multiple enemies at once and reveal hidden areas.
    • Ibuki gives her Helios' Recurve, which was created by none other than the titular sun god himself. On the outside, looks pretty much like a silver bangle bracelet embedded with a single sunstone gemstone that can be a fashionable accessory. But when activated, the sunstone core projects a bright orange photon-based construct of a bow as it glows a warm golden yellow like the vibrant yellow sun. The photon arrow/wave blast projectiles on the other hand are colored pastel yellow.
    • During the fight with Black Diablos and White Monoblos in Slipsand Galaxy, she unlocks the "Flash Step" ability of her Semblance, which allows her to warp over short distances in a blinking flash of light particles.
  • "Shut Up" Kiss: She was on the receiving end of this from Masaru in Chapter 233 of Gaiden when she attempted to finally confess her feelings to the former Li'l Ultimate P.E. but was left as a rambling mess. She later gives one back to him right after when he tries to explain himself for what he did.
  • The Smart Girl: She is usually the one in charge of writing and composing most of the original songs for Sea5ons outside the Vocaloid songs they usually cover. She sometimes also writes and composes songs for herself (solo performances) or for other musical acts (i.e. Photon Lightning).
  • Sweet Baker: Combined with her kind and sweet (no pun intended) personality, she's also a skilled pastry chef who often loves baking desserts for her family and friends.
  • Sweet Tooth: Weiss once mentioned that she loves eating bread and sweets more than what ocelots and other felines normally eat (i.e. meat and fish).
  • Team Mom: Alongside Nagisa as the group's Team Dad, she does her best to look out for her friends in the Warriors of Hope. It's hinted that she picked up this trait from Chelsea, who's the resident Team Mom herself of Sea5ons, long before she joined the Warriors of Hope.
  • Team Pet: She owns a pet gray tabby cat named Yukina, whom she often carries around with her in her satchel.
    • Meloetta, Beat (Plusle), Lyra (Minun), and Solrock.
  • Token Non-Human: She's the only Faunus member of the Warriors of Hope.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Shares this dynamic with her best friend, Kotoko. While both girls are feminine in terms of appearances, Kokoro is an introverted, demure, and level-headed girl who loves singing, playing the piano, and baking sweets, while Kotoko is an extroverted, hotheaded, and passionate girl who is proficient in martial arts and loves engaging in Pokémon Battles.
  • Took a Level in Badass: As of Galaxy 2, she slowly evolves from a timid, coddled, and quiet little girl into a strong, courageous, and confident young woman who can now hold her own in a fight and is willing to put her own life in the line for her friends when needed.
  • Troubled, but Cute: Despite being an introverted individual with stage fright and social anxiety issues, there's no denying that Kokoro looks adorable to boot given her cute child-like appearance and innocent disposition.
  • Twice Shy: She and Masaru have a crush on each other... but both of them are too flustered to even work up the courage to admit their feelings.

     Donovan

Donovan

  • An Arm and a Leg: Ends up losing his left foot at the end of 3D Land when Chiaki throws the moon into the Grimm world.
  • Artificial Limbs: Watts replaces his missing left foot with a metal foot. The left foot can unleash a hidden blade if Donovan needs to slice someone.
  • Bad Powers, Bad People: His Semblance allows him to drain the life force from the people that he holds onto while his Semblance is active, and he almost always uses it to kill people.
  • Fatal Flaw: Sadism. He enjoys toying with his foes before finishing them off. This tends to give his opponents the time to strike back.
  • Heinous Hyena: He's a cruel and sadistic hyena Faunus who's evil to the core.
  • Life Drain: His Semblance, called Drain, allows him to drain the life or Aura out of anyone he touches and uses his Semblance on. The only drawback of this is that using this Semblance leaves him open for attacks. It is later revealed Donovan can absorb the souls of those he drained. Thus, denying them a chance of neither peace nor coming back to life as a ghost.
  • Power-Up: He learned how to create Grimm thanks to some notes left behind by Dark Ruby.
    • He used his amulet to gain the ability to use wings and claws, which became permanently attached to him after his amulet was destroyed.
    • He obtained Gloom element from the Imprisoned which he used in his rematch. He later gave it to Salem to make up for his failure.
  • Raised Hand of Survival: Donovan, in his attempt to escape the destroyed Grimm World, ends up digging himself back up into Remnant... until he eventually punches his way out of the ground and ends up in Vacuo.
  • Teens Are Monsters: Donovan, as a fourteen-year-old young man, is shown to be completely rotten to the core and someone who takes complete and utter glee in killing others. Even worse is that he takes delight in retelling the story of how he allowed his old village to be destroyed, while the people there perished.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With Aria. Since his debut in Chapter 86 of Gaiden, he was partnered up with a human whom he dislikes for her heritage as much as the two couldn't stand each other. However, the Human-Faunus duo can be quite a deadly and sadistic pair together in combat whenever they aren't bickering.
  • Would Hurt a Child: In his debut chapter, he mentioned that, despite being fourteen himself, he wasn't above hurting the children in his old village. Even goes as far as to mention that he tried to kill a baby once, only being stopped by the baby's mother. Turns out the baby he tried to kill was Oran Moss.

     Oran Moss

Oran Rose-Moss

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/super_rwby_sisters___oran_moss_by_darkrebellion04_dgbromx.png
Courtesy of darkrebellion04 on DeviantArt.

An armadillo Faunus whose life took a tragic turn when his parents were murdered by the dreaded Grimm, The Devastator. Luckily, he was found by a Zarude named Kala, who took him in as her own son and raised him in the wild with love and care. He would later encounter Ruby Rose and form a close bond with her. Eventually, he gets adopted into the Rose family as he continues to grow in support and protection for his new family along with reuniting with Gonta.

  • The Cameo: He appears at the end of Fell Star Strikers, where he grabs onto a tanooki leaf and gains the tanooki suit, after which he falls asleep on a tree branch as a snowstorm rages on and Bowser's laugh is heard in the background.
  • Cry into Chest: Or rather legs, as he cries into the legs of Summer Rose after his birth parents' remains were discovered and given a proper burial. Summer takes this opportunity to comfort him during this moment.
  • Deceased Parents Are the Best: In the Gaiden chapter that shows his origin, it is shown that Oran's parents loved their son and made sure to do their best in raising him despite living in a mining village owned by the SDC. Meaning that when he eventually found the remains of his parents years later it brought him to tears.
  • Famous Ancestor: He revealed himself to be the descendant of Happy in the 4th chapter of ATMC: Skyward Sword when he subconsciously activated his ancestor's special ability to generate wings from his back and use them to fly in the air under a moment of stress during his fight with Donovan.
  • Happily Adopted: He has been officially adopted thanks to Peach and is an official member of the Rose-Xiao Long family. However, he chooses to keep his current name until he figures out which he wants to be referred to in the future. He eventually decides to add Rose to his last name to show him having fully accepted becoming part of the family.
  • Heavy Sleeper: Sleeps through the entire Pop Culture Tunnel Experience despite how loud it gets.
  • Meaningful Name: His first name means "little green one" in Irish, meaning that his full name means "Litte Green Moss".
  • Power-Up: He obtains the power of flight in his first fight against Donovan, due to unlocking ancestral magic that was given to his ancestor Happy in the past.
    • He learned how to use the Spin Dash from Sonic.
    • He was given a new metal bow by his sister Ruby before the events of Skyward Sword. It can transform into a spear and back into a bow.
    • He obtains Light Arrows from Weiss and Zelda.
  • Punny Name: He chose to add Rose to his last to have it be a pun based on a plant with a similar name, to also add the punny nature of some of his adopted family members into it.
  • Raised by Wolves: Or more specifically monkeys, as he was found by Kala the Zarude, who adopted him and took him to live in the wild with her.
  • Related in the Adaptation: In this series, Gonta Gokuhara is his older brother.
  • Shy Shelled Animal: Oran is an armadillo Faunus, who has the shell of an armadillo, which he uses to hide himself as a way to prevent him from being detected by predators, as well as the heroes when he first starts following them. When he meets them, he is at first very shy around them, but as the story progresses he becomes a lot more sociable.
  • Silent Snarker: Despite being young and unable to speak at first, he can be quite sarcastic through the looks he gives people, tricking Grif and Tucker when asked to weigh in on an argument, as well as showing a small smirk when he beats someone in combat.
  • Survivalist Stash: He carries around a satchel that contains fruits, nuts, meats, Dust crystals, as well as his bow, some arrows, and his spear, all of which he has collected over time as he was living in the wild.
  • Team Pet: Kala (Zarude), Heracross, Drampa, and Robin (Rowlet).
  • Turtle Island: A much smaller version of this trope, as Oran's shell, is stated to have moss and mushrooms growing on it from his time in the wild, leading to him being able to be mistaken for a rock if he were to go into his shell.
  • Wild Child: Having become orphaned at the age of three led to him being raised in the wild by Kala, which resulted in him being unable to speak when he first meets the characters, as well as him not being used to being around other people.

     Oran's Parents

Oliver Moss & Ophelia Chloros-Moss

  • Due to the Dead: Both were given a proper burial after their remains were discovered upon the defeat of the Devastator.
  • Good Parents: Both Oliver and Ophelia were great parents towards Oran, incredibly loving towards him, always making sure that he was taken care of and even making sure to hide him when the Devastator started to rampage through the village and ensuring that he was kept safe.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Oliver was quite tall as he came in at nearly two meters tall, whereas Ophelia was a lot shorter in comparison coming in at 165 cm.
  • Like Father, Like Son: Oliver is an armadillo Faunus with an armadillo shell, something that Oran inherited.
  • Mama Bear: Both literal and figurative examples, as Ophelia is a bear Faunus with bear claws for hands but is also willing to beat up anyone who dares to hurt her child. Something which Donovan learned the hard way when he tried to kill Oran as a baby.
  • The Leader: Oliver was seen as the leader and someone to look up to in the SDC mining village that they lived in, even making sure to stand up to the overseers of the village if they ever decided to be overly cruel to them.
  • See You in Hell: Both Oliver and Ophelia's last words to Donovan have them swearing that they will make sure that he pays for what he did and that they will personally drag him to hell.
  • Villain Respect: Ophelia earned this from Donovan when she stopped him from trying to kill Oran as a baby.

  • Loyal Animal Companion: As the pet barn owl of the Winchester family and Nesta's pet companion, he follows his owner's commands with no hesitation as seen when Nesta asks him to find an escape route due to being held hostage by the Space Pirates Ridley's ship, which in turn leads him to find Cardin and the other heroes when they stormed into Ridley's ship.

  • Head Pet: She loves nestling on top of Kokoro's head whenever she's not traveling inside her satchel.
  • Loyal Animal Companion: She belongs to Kokoro and is always willing to come to her owner's aid.
  • Panthera Awesome: Despite just being a small gray tabby cat, this cat was strong enough to hit Serris in the jaws to great effect.

Grimm

     The Four Champion Grimm
Tropes applying to all four:
  • The Dreaded: All four Grimm Champions are deeply feared in Remnant due to how dangerous they are.
  • Sole Survivor : Amon is the only Champion Grimm to still be alive in the present.

Amon

  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Amon was described as being a large Grimm, big enough to deal with FF Summons like Bahamut.
  • Arch-Nemesis: He is the archenemy of Iris, given he crippled her Uncle Kuro.
  • Cannibalism Superpower: He can regenerate any lost pieces of his body by consuming other Creatures of Grimm to heal.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He delivers one heavily on the heroes and villains he fought the first time, forcing them to be teleported away by Palutena.
  • Shout-Out: Amon bears a striking resemblance to Devilman, something that the Danganronpa characters point out. Anyone familiar with the franchise will know that Amon has another meaning.
  • One-Man Army: He is powerful enough to take on multiple people with ease, which the cast of Super RWBY 3D Land learned the hard way.

Acnologia

  • Big Bad: It was the main villain of Super RWBY Gaiden, specifically Chapter 115.
  • Hero Killer: It was successful in killing major members of Fairy Tail during its attack on the Guild. The victims of its attack were Gray, Elfman, Gajeel, and Erza.
  • Shout-Out: It is based on Acnologia of Fairy Tail, which it shares its name from.

Red

  • Big Bad: It was the main villain of Super RWBY Gaiden, specifically Chapter 256.
  • Hero Killer: It has managed to inflict a fatal wound on the Black Knight before it dies.
  • Shout-Out: This Grimm bears a striking resemblance to Red of NES Godzilla Creepypasta.
  • Soul Eating: It feeds on the souls of its victims.

     The Nameless

The Nameless

  • Killer Rabbit: A literal rabbit Grimm that has centuries of kills under its belt.
  • Mind Rape: It hunts by driving its targets insane, forcing them to kill each other, and then eating their remains.
  • No Name Given: Is only known as the Nameless since, besides Seryu and Umber, nobody who encountered it ever survived.
  • Power-Up: In Forgotten Land, the Nameless reveals that it has developed the ability to dig underground and use the Pokémon Fire-type move Flare Blitz.

     The Devastator

The Devastator

  • Arch-Enemy: To both Oran and Laxus. Oran because it was the thing that destroyed his village and ate his parents, and for Laxus due to him having faced the Grimm in the past with the Thunder Legion it nearly killed some of his allies.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Upon its creation by Salem, the devastator refused to follow her orders, told her to go screw herself, and bit off her head before leaving the Land of Darkness, and since then managed to prevent being brought back to Salem.
  • Heavy Sleeper: After having had a meal The Grimm takes a long sleep to allow himself to digest the food that he has eaten, only ever being woken up by loud noises or magic from Dimentio.
  • Invincible Villain: Zig-Zagged, it is shown that the Devastator was a neigh unstoppable force that was able to take on Laxus and the Thunder Legion in the past and won, and in the past, most of the heroes that are going up against it were unable to land the killing blow. Mainly due to its thick hide, bony armor, and a multitude of attacks. That is until Oran manages to get eaten, cut his way out through the stomach of the Grimm and Laxus manages to blow a hole through The Devastator, killing it for good.
  • Smug Snake: While he is unable to speak, the Devastator is shown to hiss in such a tone that it would seem to be mocking its opponents. Knowing that they can't beat him.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: The Devastator was an early creation of Salem, and has been known for destroying villages while eating their inhabitants.

     The Dinosaur Grimm

Dinosaur Grimm

  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Just like their real-life counterparts, the Therizinosaurus, the Terrorclaw Grimm has a pair of three sharp scythe-like claws on each hand that are capable of slashing through various solid objects.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: The Muhuru have spiked tails just like their real-life counterparts, the Stegosaurus.
  • Death from Above: Being capable of flight like the Pteranodon, the Kongamato Grimm likes attacking their prey from above with their sharp talons and pointy beaks.
  • Herbivores Are Friendly: Strongly averted... as any dino Grimm based on plant-eating dinosaurs are not to be taken lightly as much as they are very aggressive monsters that won't hesitate to attack anything on sight that invades their territory just like any other Grimm.
  • Long Neck: As expected of the Mokele-mbembe Grimm, which is based on the Apatosaurus.
  • Raptor Attack: The Sickle Claws, which are based on the Velociraptor. In a similar fashion to the raptors featured in Jurassic Park, they're known to be quite dangerous, unpredictable, and intelligent predators that are smart enough to know how to pick off a group of Huntsmen one by one.
  • Rolling Attack: The Muhuru Grimm are capable of curling their bodies and spinning them around like saw blades.
  • Shout-Out: The Kongamato, Ngoubou, Muhuru, and Mokele-mbembe Grimm were named after the legendary dinosaur-like cryptids that originated from the African continent.
  • Super-Persistent Predator: Small theropod-type Grimm such as the Sickle Claw and Spitfire are known to never let their prey leave their encounters with them alive.
  • Super Spit: Similarly to the Dilophosaurus from Jurassic Park, the Spitfire Grimm can spray venomous, paralysis-inducing acid that can temporarily blind prey when aimed at the eyes.
  • Temper-Ceratops: The Ngoubous are Triceratops-esque Grimm that are capable of charging non-stop at their foes to impale them with their pointy brow horns and stampeding over anything that's in their path.
  • Terrifying Tyrannosaur: The King Tyrant, which is based on the infamous king of dinosaurs, the Tyrannosaurus rex.

  • Adaptational Badass: Due to being the Nobody of Vernal, she is a lot stronger than her human self.

Also known as "Digital Advisor Notable in Expository Learning" in full, D.A.N.I.E.L. is an A.I. program developed by Dr. Pietro Polendina who is assigned to act as an advisor and caretaker of sorts towards his foster son, Nagisa Shingetsu. As such, he's always there by his master's side to be ready to assist him whenever he needs it and to monitor both his physical and mental health whenever Pietro isn't around, ensuring that the former Li'l Ultimate Social Studies doesn't overwork himself. Furthermore, D.A.N.I.E.L. never shies away from giving Nagisa helpful advice from time to time as much as he also encourages him to learn from every mistake he makes and to never give up on himself no matter what.

Not to mention that Nagisa often calls him "Dan" for short.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Nagisa often calls him "Dan" for short.
  • Virtual Sidekick: He's an A.I. program developed by Dr. Pietro Polendina who is assigned to be Nagisa's advisor and caretaker whenever he's not around. As such, he's always there by his master's side to monitor his overall well-being and be ready to assist him whenever he needs it.

     Morgan

Morgan / Relic of Destruction

  • Balance of Power: While she can power someone up, it only lasts for five minutes to balance it. Afterward, the user is drained of their power and needs five hours to recover from use.
  • Genie in a Bottle: She is the spirit that lives in Relic of Destruction. Calling her name or activating the relic can summon her
  • O.C. Stand-in: She serves as the Spirit for Relic of Destruction. Mainly due to Relic's spirit having not been revealed for canon at the time.
  • Super-Empowering: She can empower the holder of the Relic with a huge power boost to aid in battle.

Super Mario Bros.

     Amelia Gadd

Amelia Gadd

  • Like an Old Married Couple: Except literally as they are old. She did get after her husband after he made a time machine behind her back though.
  • Long-Lost Relative: She was gone for so long from her husband and granddaughter. The reason why she was gone for so long was that she found a Warp Star in Dreamland and accidentally got herself on a one-way trip to a distant planet with no way back with only her Golurk to keep her company. She was eventually found by Jade and reunited with her granddaughter and later, her husband.
  • Team Pet: Golett → Golurk.

     Marcus Toadstool

Emperor Marcus Toadstool

  • Assumed Win: He thought he outsmarted Emperor Bowser and went on a tangent in front of him. He didn't.
  • Playing with Fire: His main power of choice.
  • Poisoned Chalice Switcheroo: He thought he had outplayed Emperor Bowser by switching the wine glasses around. He even boasted that he outsmarted Bowser and said he won the war... before dropping dead. Turns out, Bowser poisoned both glasses.

     Jade Toadstool

Empress Jade Toadstool

  • All for Nothing: She won the war, but thanks to an investigation team a millennium later, Dry Bowser is back alive and kicking.
  • The Empress: Once Marcus was killed, she took matters into her own hands, ending the war against Emperor Bowser within days after her husband passed away.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: It's revealed in Super Paper RWBY that Jade has realized what she had done due to being blinded by her anger. Peach cheers her up right after.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: The sole reason why Dry Bowser is out and about a thousand years later. She and her squad thought it'd be a good idea to place a 1-Up Mushroom in a block above his tomb to taunt him. Take a wild guess at what happens next. Though, to be fair, she didn't know about Bowser sending an investigation team to the tomb.

     Booniper

Booniper

     Scoop Swoop

Scoop Swoop

     Bowsette

Bowsette Koopa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_154932.png
  • Cosmetic Horror: When she was still a Koopa, she went to get plastic surgery to get a smaller snout. Technically, she did get a smaller snout... it was just more than she bargained for.
  • Decomposite Character: Is Bowser’s sister, rather than Bowser himself. See above for more details.
  • Mistaken Identity: She keeps getting mistaken for Peach to the point she decides to change her hair color.
  • My Greatest Failure: Bowsette regrets abandoning her family because of the surgery.
  • Related in the Adaptation: She is Bowser's sister and the true mother of the Koopalings.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: After hearing Cinder's backstory, Bowsette takes sympathy for her despite her plans and the crimes she's done. She takes her to Bowser's Castle, wanting to help her out. Bowser's not thrilled about the idea, however, especially Neo.

     Boosette / Rei

Rei Koopa

  • Beware the Nice Ones: While normally shy and quiet... the moment you mess with her family? She gets quite feisty.
  • Fatal Flaw: Since she is part Boo, she is unfortunate enough to have crippling shyness, but she does get out of it once she gets to know somebody.
  • Fusion Dance: She was fused to a Boo thanks to an experiment by her parents. The fusion is permanent due to the machine used for the fusion having promptly blown up.
  • Good Stepmother: She proved to be very well-liked among the Kooplings, even Roy is alright with her despite having the most trouble accepting Bowsette back into his life.
  • Our Ghosts Are Different: As a hybrid, she has access to her Boo powers and other human qualities.
  • Playing with Fire: Rei can use Fire Magic, especially Will-O-Wisps.
  • The Quiet One: As a Human/Boo hybrid, she's really shy around people she's not familiar with.

     Edward "Eddie" Leboneski

Edward Leboneski

  • Affably Evil: He's a member of a Koopa Troop, but he's pretty much a Nice Guy as he's a good cook whenever he works in the kitchen and is one of the first few members of the Koopa Troop to warm up to Cinder. Not to mention that he's also impressed with her cooking on her first day.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: Despite being a talented chef, he often likes to take great pride and experiment in creating strange food combinations during his free time that would result in horrible-tasting dishes, such as "flame-grilled squid tentacles dressed in peanut butter" and "flame-grilled squid tentacles coated in honey".
  • Uniformity Exception: The primary feature(s) that differentiates Eddie from other generic Dry Bones is a black bandana that he wears around his non-existent neck along with a medium-sized crack mark on his lower jaw.

     Flambé

Flambé the Head Koopa Chef

  • Affably Evil: He's a member of a Koopa Troop, but he's pretty much a Benevolent Boss who acts as the head chef in the kitchen of Bowser's Castle and is one of the first few members of the Koopa Troop who's willing to give Cinder a second chance. Not to mention that he's also impressed with her cooking on her first day.

     Acidtail

Acidtail

  • Back from the Dead: He was reborn thanks to a scientist named V who has used a new element called Zutregeon.
  • Healing Factor: He can regenerate easily as long as there is acid for him to use.
  • Immortality: He can live forever as he mentions thanks to his abilities.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Acidtail cannot be killed due to his acid regenerative ability, making him a difficult foe to defeat.

     Solana Koopa

     El Cinco

El Cinco / Five-Sword Caterpillar / Héctor Bernal

  • Arch-Enemy: Dry Bowser is a personal enemy of El Cinco due to being responsible for his kingdom's destruction.
  • Fate Worse than Death: Due to his willpower, El Cinco is unable to die and move onto the afterlife, doomed to live forever as an undead Dry Wiggler.
  • Last of His Kind: He is the sole survivor of his kingdom after accidentally unleashing a powerful sand explosion, which destroyed the City of Nil and everyone who lives in it.
  • Master Swordsman: True to his title, El Cinco can wield five scimitars or five-bladed pistols with incredible efficiency.
  • My Greatest Failure: El Cinco deeply regrets destroying his kingdom by accident.
  • Sand Blaster: He has the power to control sand. He is powerful enough to unleash a sand explosion capable of destroying kingdoms.
  • Shout-Out: His real name is a reference to Héctor Rivera, the deuteragonist of Disney's Coco, and the last name of his voice actor, Gael García Bernal.
  • The Gunslinger: El Cinco possesses five-bladed pistols that can shoot out different bullets, each with a different effect.
    • The purple bullets can explode upon contact with the target.
    • The blue bullets can act like a floating obstacle.

     Myra Shadowheart

Myra Shadowheart

Click here to see her medieval era appearance.
Both artworks courtesy of darkrebellion04 on DeviantArt.
Myra is a dark magic user who was the new Royal Court Magician for the Mushroom Kingdom royal family centuries ago before the present day. A woman finding herself in a place way out of her time, Myra now uses her Dark Artes to defend others as much as she now tries to make up for the mistakes she made in the past regarding her close friend-turned-archenemy, Viola Silverlung, and her former old friend, King Boo.
  • Accomplice by Inaction: For the worse, Myra witnessed Viola commit numerous crimes, and while some were accidental, did nothing as Viola continued to cause more havoc. Emperor Brr rightfully points this out to her.
  • Arch-Enemy: Becomes this to Viola after finally realizing the truth and vows to destroy Viola for her crimes.
  • The Archmage: A strong and powerful magic user.
  • De-power: To survive, Viola uses the Grand Ztar on Myra and causes all but one of her Crystal Stars to vanish to Myra's horror.
  • Fatal Flaw: Her overly-trusting attitude. Despite witnessing Viola's blatant disregard for safety, causing numerous deaths, and wrongfully playing God, Myra clings to trusting that Viola is still a good person. Even when others in her journey, including Dry Bowser and his allies who find her story, realize Viola isn't a good person. This bites Myra back hard.
  • Fish out of Water: Due to needing to freeze herself in time to stop Viola one day, Myra eventually awakens centuries from her time in what is essentially a new world for her.
  • Hero of Another Story: Once saved the world with others from her time with the Dark Star.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: She thought Viola was just an excitable and creative scientist who simply made accidents and would eventually learn from them. Dimentrio of all people points out Myra probably DID know Viola's true nature but denied it and simply wanted to continue trusting Viola as a friend. It didn't stick.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Has this twice. The first time is when she accidentally turns King Boo into a villain (who'd proceed to cause havoc). The second time, after being forced to run from Viola and her new allies, walks through a field where she recalls and witnesses the destruction Viola left behind and tearfully cries in shame for her inaction.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Had Myra simply realized the kind of person Viola truly was, many tragedies could have been avoided.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Due to freezing herself in time, when she wakes up, chronologically she's centuries old.
  • Strong and Skilled: Myra is a powerful magic user where in her time, she could have been the Mushroom Kingdom's Court Magician.
  • Team Pet: At the Castle of Vendetta, Myra adopted a lone Smorg.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Tried her best to be Viola's friend. But after realizing Viola had been using her, had planned to kill people, and had already committed numerous irredeemable acts, she quits being Viola's friend for good.

     Viola Silverlung

Viola Silverlung

  • Affably Evil: A mix of this and Faux Affably Evil. When she isn't focused on her hatred towards Myra and the Gadd Family, she can be pretty chill around most people. Though that doesn't distract from the fact that she's a demented mad scientist with no sense of ethics whose experiments cost the lives of innocent civilians.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: While Elvis may have made a mistake in his poor phrasing when telling her she wasn't brilliant, Viola completely believes Elvis is just sexist along with the entire science community of her time. Her response soon after was to try and kill them and even murder one of the scientists (Bomb-son) in cold blood. Once she awakens in the present, she aims her hate at Elvis' current descendants and still aims to kill the science community.
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: Viola believes she was wronged as a scientist but misses out on how many TRY to tell her that her experiments are borderline dangerous. Elvis Gadd himself was unable to tell her that he couldn't bring her to the science community party because all her experiments and research involved civilians' deaths and so on. Unfortunately, Viola continues to believe that she was robbed of being considered a great scientist and continues her spree of madness.
  • False Friend: While she did like Myra, she ultimately never saw Myra as a friend but a 'pet' to use and trick for her selfish ends.
  • Fatal Flaw: Pride. She is unable to stand when others think she isn't a brilliant scientist or accept her unethical. Pushing her to commit many horrible acts of science just for the sake of healing her wounded ego.
  • Fish out of Water: Like Myra, Viola is out of her time and awakens in a new world.
  • For Science!: She does whatever she can for her research as she enjoys it. Sadly, as many point out, she does this without considering anybody's safety and doesn't bother to repair what she's broken.
  • Lack of Empathy: Has no care for the tragedies she commits other than for gathering research data. Not even minding she committed genocide.
  • Mad Scientist: Very much on the mad. Despite being very brilliant, many point out her less-than-ethical experiments, including the villains. It was the main reason Elvis Gadd denied her entry to be considered a brilliant scientist. She even causes Mario to flee in Chapter 257 of Gaiden.
  • The Matchmaker: Has a slight hobby of this. Her idea of matching people is to use her machines to force couples to kiss and be married, whether they like it or not.
  • The Narcissist: Grows shades of this when she makes statues of herself, robots, and considers herself a queen.
  • Oh, Crap!: When Myra discovers her true nature, Viola quickly runs away in fear as Myra now aims to kill her for her crimes.
  • Really 700 Years Old: To escape Myra, Viola put herself in stasis and was awakened in the present day. Being chronologically centuries old.
  • Reality Warper: Thanks to the Grand Ztar, Viola can manipulate reality to a certain degree.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: Comes to despise Elvis Gadd, her old mentor due to poor wording on his part. After awakening in the present, she decides to aim for his current descendants, Elvin, Amelia, and Jade Gadd.
  • Vain Sorceress: Or scientist in this case. With Dry Bowser's gang and even Myra noting as time went on, Viola became vain and built many statues of herself.
  • Villain Team-Up: Joins Dry Bowser's faction since his gang saved her and was willing to take her in. Though mainly she joined to avoid Myra's wrath.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Myra thought Viola considered her a friend. Turns out, Viola had planned to brainwash her. Needless to say, Viola learned the hard way not to anger a powerful magic user when Myra found out and pledged to kill her.

     Vivian Shadowheart

Vivian Shadowheart / Shadow Queen

  • Adaptational Heroism: The main universe's version of the Shadow Queen is on the side of good and supports her descendant Myra. She even helps give Myra good advice when needed. Averted with the Paper Universe's version, who is still quite evil.

Ancologia

An unfortunate victim of Pokémon poaching, this Shiny Charizard would grow to loath humans with a passion from the abuse it has suffered. A faithful encounter with Cinder Fall may lead the two toward a road to healing inner wounds and possibly a new friendship, though it will not be an easy path.

  • A Shared Suffering: He would bond with Cinder Fall due to both having suffered abuse in their youth, though this took a while to happen.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Acnologia was abused as a Charmander by poachers. This resulted in him developing a deep hatred of humans, leading him to kill any Pokémon Trainer or human he met once he evolved into Charizard.

  • The Dog Bites Back: Evolves into Charizard after having enough of being abused over its life.

  • Humans Are Cthulhu: Subverted, as she knows that not all humans are bad and is very happy to see that Oran was found by and allowed to travel with the heroes after the two got separated.
  • Involuntary Group Split: As a result of the dark hurricane that was created by Dark Bowser, both Oran and Kala were separated due to the winds blowing them in different directions, with the two not being able to find each other again until months later.
  • Parental Substitute: Becomes this for Oran after she finds him after his parents have perished, making sure to adopt him as well as to raise him in the wild.
  • Talking with Signs: Due to being a Pokémon she communicates with humans through the use of sign language.

Metroid

     Nina

Nina

  • Adaptational Badass: As a Malicious Metroid, she is a lot more deadly than a normal Metroid showcasing human intelligence and becoming stronger with each evolution. It was even capable of bringing the SA-X to a standstill and that was just in its Gamma Metroid form!
  • Arch-Enemy: Nina is Blake's nemesis during SPBRR: Fusion due to it having developed an obsession with absorbing Blake's Aura. It goes after her the most during each encounter.
  • Big Bad: Nina serves as one of the main villains of SPBRR: Fusion along with the SA-X.

  • Badass Boast: He makes it very clear to Mr. Grizz that he's not dying again.
