Super Mario Bros.

The Mushroom Kingdom & Sarasaland

     Mario

Mario

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mario_538.png
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: In Chapter 99 of Gaiden, Dimentio turns him into Mr. M and sets him on the heroes. He would later be freed thanks to his friends.
  • Challenge Seeker: During his second trip to the Lost Levels, he expected to face the perpetual storm in World 7-1, not knowing that Dry Bowser and his team already took care of it. The Italian Hero leaves the level confused and disappointed.
  • Composite Character: Although he is the same happy-go-lucky Nice Guy that he is in the games, Mario is depicted as a fierce fighter and headstrong leader during adventures, not unlike his portrayal in the Super Smash Bros. series.
  • Due to the Dead: When Mario goes through the City of Nil and Hoarfrost Town, he takes his hat off in respect for the deceased inhabitants that lost their lives centuries ago.
  • Even the Loving Hero Has Hated Ones: Mario's a pretty friendly and forgiving guy, but he seems to have an extreme dislike for Dimentio. Given that the jester brainwashed Luigi in the Paper Universe, along with being responsible for Paper Ruby's despair and recently Chiaki to a bloody pulp, this is understandable.
  • Good Is Not Soft: When Mario gets kidnapped by Dimentio, he's not as merciful as his impression would suggest. Just ask Seryu.
  • Late to the Tragedy: In Chapter 257 of Gaiden due to venturing through the Lost Levels after Dry Bowser and his group have gone through them.
  • Oh, Crap!: Whenever he sees El Cinco, he panics due to thinking the Dry Wiggler's a killer. It isn't until Chapter 245 of Gaiden that he learns the truth. Later, in Chapter 257, when he encounters Viola and she starts talking about how she's going to make Myra and Jade suffer, he pulls out a Boo Mushroom, eats it, turns into Boo Mario, and turns invisible, and flees.
  • Power-Up: The Fire Brand.
    • He would later become a Red Mage class of FFXIV, courtesy of Dimentio. Though he admits he prefers fire more.
  • Stepford Smiler: He puts on a brave face due to his role as a hero, but secretly suffers from feelings that nobody truly wants him around. Thankfully, Byleth convinced him to be more open about his feelings in public and his friends to prove his fears wrong.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When Mario reaches the charred remains of Viola's Castle, he meets the demented mad scientist face-to-face. Assuming that she is a normal, if a bit vain woman, it isn't until Viola namedrops Myra and openly declares her revenge on the Gadd Family that Mario realizes who she was. He instantly uses the Boo Mushroom to disappear from sight, and as soon as the coast was clear, he nopes out of there, leaving the Lost Levels entirely.
  • Shame If Something Happened: Benevolent example in Chapter 257 of Gaiden when he burns the famine-causing herb with his Fire Brand.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Mario has been made even stronger in the series. So much so that when fighting Junior, he went easy on him to give him a chance.
  • Team Pet: Aurora (Amaura → Aurorus), El Santo (Hawlucha), Coal (Rolycoly), Parfait (Togepi → Togetic → Togekiss).
  • Obsessed with Food: Pasta.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: By his own admission, Mario is never one to back down from a fight. However, in Super Paper RWBY, when the team is faced with a potential threat that's fast approaching, Mario opts to use the Return Pipe, with him and the others getting out of there quick. This turns out to be a smart move on his end, as the dimension-hopping Dry Bowser ends up bursting through the area they were just in seconds before.

     Luigi

Luigi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/luigi_3.png
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Paper Luigi becomes Mr. L during Super Paper RWBY.
  • The Chew Toy: The Chibi series tends to make the poor guy suffer a lot.
  • Cowardly Lion: Luigi is this to ghosts and anything scary in general.
  • Lampshade Hanging: When he eats the Boo Mushroom and becomes a Boo.
    Luigi: ...Well, THIS is ironic.
  • Lovable Coward: Despite being cowardly, he's just a big ol' lovable doofus.
  • Odd Friendship: With Neo and Marnie.
  • Power-Up: The Thunder Hand.
    • Kamek later upgraded Luigi into the Machinist class of FFXIV, allowing him access to a variety of weapons, technomancy, and robot summoning.
  • Team Pet: Hoopa, Marshadow, Affection (Misdreavus), Affectio (Shuppet), Kodama (Phantump), Pueo (Shiny Rowlet → Dartrix), Kagura (Oricorio), Circuit (Yamper).

     Princess Peach

Princess Peach Toadstool

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_2744.PNG
  • Badass Adorable: She may be cute, but don't underestimate her.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Peach is very sweet to just about everyone, but piss her off and you'll learn that she's an impressive fighter. She sternly calls out Bowser after the events of “Super RWBY 64” and later threatens to castrate Dimentio when he brainwashes Mario into becoming Mr. M in “Galactic Conquest Prime”.
  • Bitch Slap: She slaps Cinder hard after they reunite in the first Galaxy chapter.
  • Damsel in Distress: She gets kidnapped all the time.
  • Damsel out of Distress: Peach had enough of kidnapping for one day in Super RWBY World, as she broke out and fought Roman and Neo.
    • In the final battle with Heartless Bowser, she fights with Bowser and Kyoko to vanquish the darkness, and boy, does she help out in style.
  • Decoy Getaway: She uses an inflatable Peach doll that Daisy got her for Christmas before she was taken away to Corona Mountain. Daisy is delighted that her present was put to good use. Bowser, not so much.
  • The High Queen: Peach's noble and fair rule has gotten her quite a few compliments throughout the series.
  • Mama Bear: Chibi! Peach is like this to Aphrodite. Bowser learned this the hard way.
  • Power-Up: During Galaxy 2, Kamek granted Peach the power of a White Mage.
  • Precision F-Strike: While normally not one to curse unlike Daisy, there was one moment in Super Paper RWBY that pushed her over the edge.
Mimi: Not another word, you blonde frilly pink dressed bimbo!
    Peach: ...Mario...
    Mario: Yes?
Peach: Hold me back. *takes off her gloves and earrings* I'M GONNA SLAP A BITCH!
  • Team Pet: Shurei (Feebas → Milotic), Lei (Comfey), Sunshine (Espeon), Magnolia (Cutiefly → Ribombee), Aphrodite (Ralts → Kirlia → Gardevoir) Strawberry (Milcery → Alcreamie).
    • She would later obtain an Espinas.

     Toadsworth

Toadsworth

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/toadsworth.png
  • Cool Old Guy: He's an elderly Toad who's pretty much a friendly and helpful Nice Guy around the heroes.

     Captain Toad

Captain Toad

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/captain_toad.png

     Princess Daisy

Princess Daisy Sarasa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/princess_daisy_-_mp8_6335.png
  • Big Entrance: She comes dropping in a la Mario Strikers Charged style in Super RWBY 64.
  • Curse Cut Short: She drops the F-Bomb after witnessing Tai using Zwei to take out the Stink Bug Parent. However, the scene immediately cuts to another team before she says a word.
  • Damsel out of Distress: She kicks anyone's ass who dares to try to kidnap her. Bowser does not like to go near her as a result.
  • The Dreaded: Bowser is deeply afraid of her due to losing to her in the past to the point he usually doesn't want to mess with her and acts serious.
  • Power-Up: During Galaxy 2, Daisy was granted by Kamek the Power of a Dragoon class.
    • Also, her abilities from the Crystal Flower are made potent to the point she no longer needs a Crystal Flower to access them, for example creating crystal wings to allow her to fly. Durning a battle with Grimm King Boo, she would obtained the Amethyst Dragoon from after crushing the foe's crystal.
  • Team Pet: T-Bone (Tyrunt → Tyrantrum), Mudslide (Mudsdale), Argent (Cufant).
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Mess with Luigi, you mess with her.

     Yoshi

Yoshi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yoshi_mp10.png
  • Don't Celebrate Just Yet: Yoshi believes that Ridley was defeated after dunking him into a volcano. Ridley thought otherwise...

     Professor E. Gadd

Professor Elvin Gadd

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/e_gadd_lm3.png
  • Calling the Old Man Out: Despite being saved by Arceus, the god of Pokemon admits that E. Gadd did something very risky.
  • The Dreaded: E. Gadd has a bad feeling he's about to get chewed out from Amelia, his wife. This is before Dialga starts making a mess.
  • For Science!: E. Gadd was dead set on making a time machine, despite his family's wishes.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: E. Gadd carefully tested the time machine every few hours to not disturb Dialga. So what happens when he reveals it to the public? Time holes pop up everywhere when Peach tests it out and some characters are meeting their past selves. Dialga doesn't like this.
  • Stupid Scientist: Despite being warned by his family not to go through with it, E. Gadd makes his time machine thinking nothing bad will happen. This resulted in the events of Partners in Time and E. Gadd almost getting killed by an enraged Dialga for messing with time if Arceus did not step in to save him.
  • Team Pet: Rotom.

The Koopa Kingdom

     Bowser

King Bowser Koopa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bowser2.png
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In the games, Bowser was originally the father of the Koopalings before Bowser Jr. was retconned into being a single child. Here, Bowser turns out to be their uncle through his sister, who is a adapted version of Bowsette.
  • A Father to His Men: He cares very deeply for his minions. Special mention goes to wanting to give his Tyraniter a Clown Car as he didn’t want to put him in a Pokeball, and being truly horrified at what Kyoko and Aoi went through due to Junko Enoshima.
  • Affably Evil: When he's not an enemy he's pretty chill to the heroes.
  • Agony of the Feet: Winter stabbed him in the foot.
  • Badass Boast: He boasts to Ironwood that he gets shot at in the face all the time and says that "his little peashooter" wouldn't do much before sending him into a wall.
  • Benevolent Boss: Anyone who works for Bowser is treated very kindly and he's very well-liked because of it, with Roman and Neo outright becoming far more loyal to him than Cinder.
  • Berserk Button: Hurt Junior? Bowser will make you pay. Though, he doesn't think straight...
    • Heaven help you if you decided to bring a black hole into the fight within the Koopa King's presence, considering his guilt for the events of Galaxy...
  • Best Friend: With Roman Torchwick and Neopolitan.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Bowser gets corrupted and controlled by Phazon thanks to Dark Samus in Chapter 76 of Super RWBY Gaiden. He eventually gets cured in the later part of Galactic Conquest Prime.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: When the Boss Title comes up as The Man Who Talks to Posters, Paper Bowser doesn't take it too well and decides to change it himself.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: As shown during Inside Story, he was DEEPLY disturbed by the amount of shit his 'minions' Kyoko and Aoi went through in their lives, even going as far as saying he would've stopped Junko before she had a chance to do any harm. In an alternate reality where a revived Junko devastated the world, Bowser ended up leading the resistance against her and declared himself the "Hope of Awesome".
  • Idiot Ball: He wasn't really smart in Thousand Year Door.
  • It's Personal: He holds a mighty grudge against Ganondorf, no matter what incarnation he is. Understandable considering Ganondorf betrayed him in Subspace Emissary. The younger Ganondorf finds this amusing.
  • Large Ham: Boy, does he like to be loud and proud.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: He realizes this too late after his galaxy collapses and practically destroys the universe. Even after everything winds up alright it haunted him afterward.
  • One-Winged Angel: His Giga form could be considered this, and is practically nigh-invulnerable. It takes all the heroes at their best to bring him down, and even then by the time he's back to normal, they're too tired to face him again.
    • And then along comes Fury Bowser...
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Usually, Bowser puts his heart into his kidnappings. So when he goes and half-heartedly kidnaps Peach a week after the universe was restored, Peach immediately knew something was wrong.
  • Papa Wolf: Bowser is protective of his son to the point where he thinks Junior isn't ready for Smash Bros. He eases up when Junior proves himself in Delfino and gives him the invitation he held on to for so long.
    • In Thousand Year Door, when he learns that Junior had been battered and bruised in Glitzville, he straight up loses it. He refuses to listen to his son when they reunite in the Palace of Shadow. As a result, Junior had to fight him to knock him to his senses.
  • Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: He's had quite a few. Most notable are:
"Now then... let's compost his face!"
"THIS KINGDOM IS ALL MINE! SO YOU VANISH!"
  • Silence, You Fool!: Bowser straight-up silenced the Star Gate and laid into him hard.
  • Summon Magic: During RWBY: Bowser's Inside Story, Bowser's Magic Wand got altered by Fawful to store Bowser's Minions, Friends, Smash Bros Villain fighters, etc. into the wand so he can call upon them when needed.
    • The summons so far are Roman, Neo, Wario, Waluigi, Dark Samus, Dedede, K. Rool, Wolf, Emerald, Mercury, and Ganondorf.
  • The Dog Bites Back: A group of Monty Moles and the Elite Trio betrays Bowser for switching to Fawful's side. Bowser handles it well just as you'd expect.
  • The Smart Guy: Bowser tends to be smarter than his canon counterpart. Cannot say the same for his Paper counterpart though.
  • Trick Arrow: Tifa tricked him into wearing the Double Pain badge in Thousand Year Door. Considering what Double Pain does, it goes just as you'd expect for the King of Awesome.
  • Team Pet: After helping defeat the Dark Maurader from Pokemon: Legend of Celebi, Bowser gets his own Pokemon in the form of Tyranitar. He also gave him Pokemon the nickname Kaiju. He plans to give him a Clown Car and doesn't want to put him in a Poke Ball.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Bowser underestimates Team RWBY the first time they met. He hasn't made the same mistake since.

     Bowser Jr.

Prince Bowser Koopa Jr.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bowser_jr_mp9.png
  • Ascended Extra: He plays a larger role in Superstar Saga than he did in the 3DS game where he was only recruited after the final story mission Believe in Bowser.
  • Badass Adorable: He's a spunky little guy.
  • Character Development: He goes through a huge character development during Inside Story when he grows from a spoiled brat into a caring leader.
  • Go Through Me: He places himself in Damian’s way to prevent him from killing Marnie after he cut her eyes out.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Jr has this upon realizing what his actions have led, especially with what happened to Marnie.
  • Not Listening to Me, Are You?: He tried to let his father know that he was okay and something bad was going to happen, but Bowser wasn't listening. Junior had to fight him to knock some sense into him. He stays behind while everyone else chases after Grodus to get him to listen.
  • Saying Too Much: He accidentally revealed what the Koopa Troop is working on with the airships and goes on to mention that Marnie is working on a device that can make airships invisible during an invasion. He then realizes he said too much, much to his dismay and Mario's amusement.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He ran away from working with Dark Samus and Ridley, considering they terrified him so much.
  • Spoiled Brat: He tends to act like this, fortunately, he starts to lessen and grow from it.

     King Boo

King Boo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lm_3_king_boo.png
  • Arch-Enemy: Jade, Luigi, and E. Gadd.
  • Berserk Button: Two things can anger King Boo. First, is making a clone of him as Dimentio learned the hard way. Second, badmouthing Myra Shadowheart will result in King Boo threatening the person who did that.
  • Black Sheep: According to another King Boo, this King Boo is the odd one out since he believes all ghosts should be frightening. He even turned a psychiatrist into stone.
  • Jerkass: He is a massive jerk to anyone who isn't a ghost.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: King Boo shatters Jade's petrified parents in front of her eyes and gloats that they were killed a long time ago. He was just waiting for the perfect moment to shove it in Jade's face and revel in her despair.
  • Tragic Villain: As revealed in Super RWBY Sisters: The Lost Levels, King Boo was once a benevolent king in the past. However, when Myra gave him a gem that would become his crown, transforming him into the cruel tyrant he is in the present.

     Rouboo / King Boo (Sunshine)

Rouboo / King Boo

     Kamek

Kamek

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kamek_nsmbw.png
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: He appears in the first 3 Paper RWBY stories whereas in the Paper Mario games themselves, he didn't appear until Sticker Star.
  • Crazy-Prepared: When Marnie loses her eyes and right arm while losing a lot of blood, Kamek proceeds to give her new blood, cybernetic eyes, and a metal arm all within his magic!. General Guy lampshades this.
General Guy: I can't believe it. You have magic specifically for cybernetic eyes WITH artificial tear ducts, a cybernetic arm AND blood transfusion?
    Kamek: I am always prepared.
General Guy: ...Kamek, with all due respect, you scare me sometimes with how crazily prepared you are.
  • The Dragon: Bowser's right-hand man.
  • Taking the Bullet: Both he and General Guy do this in Partners in Time, saving Baby Bowser from Elder Princess Shroob's Shroobification bolts. They get better.
  • Oh, Crap!: He had this moment when Yoob ate him up before spitting him back out.

     General Guy

General Guy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pm_general_guy_artwork.png
  • Ascended Extra: He has a much larger role here than in his home series, being part of Bowser’s inner circle on par with Kamek rather than a mere one-shot boss.
  • Adaptational Badass: He has a rocket launcher filled with Bullet Bills.
  • Adaptational Deviation: Despite being Paper Mario exclusive in canon, he has been a mainstay in the non-papery universe, and is still much of a badass.
  • Berserk Button: If there's one thing he hates more than getting creamed by the Bros and RWBY, it's family not helping out one another. He unleashed his inner Soldier while calling out Luigi's cowardice while Mario contracted Bean Fever.
  • Suddenly Shouting: When Luigi finds out a monster lives in the area that contains Crabbie Grass, he gets cold feet. General Guy lets him have it.
  • Taking the Bullet: Both he and Kamek do this in Partners in Time, saving Baby Bowser from Elder Princess Shroob’s Shroobification bolts. They get better.

Misc.

     Dry Bowser

Emperor Bowser / Dry Bowser

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dry_bowser.png
  • Adaptational Deviation: Unlike his canon self in the games, Dry Bowser is in a league of his own in the stories, and boy howdy it's terrifying.
  • Back from the Dead: He was killed during the war in his own time. He got better because Jade Toadstool and her squad decided to put a 1-Up in a ? Block to taunt him.
  • Big Bad: He serves as one of the main villains of the series.
  • Decomposite Character: While some games admittedly depicted Dry Bowser as a separate entity from Bowser, this series specifically establishes him as one of his distant predecessors instead of making his identity ambiguous.
  • Hellfire: His Oblivion Fire can burn anything until it is completely incinerated. It can never be extinguished until nothing remains.
  • Megaton Punch: He has a punch called Volcanic Punch that can decimate anything within its vicinity. It can also flatten a mountain within seconds.
    • He mentions that anyone who gets hit by it directly will have every bone in their body broken. Yikes!
  • Necromancer: He can summon Dry Bones to battle.
  • Oh, Crap!: His reaction when he realizes that El Cinco, an immortal Dry Wiggler, is still really mad at him for destroying his village a thousand years ago.
  • Power Parasite: He can steal powers from others, given that he now has a laser ability from Wracktail and drained Dashell's powers.
    • He later steals Shadoo's powers after defeating him.
    • He absorbs the remaining Fuzzy Ooze, allowing him to not only restore his arm and legs but also grant him abilities similar to a gorilla.
  • Shock and Awe: He can summon lightning bolts.

     Rosalina

Rosalina Faye-Xiao Long

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/365px_rosalina___mario_party_10.png
  • Adaptational Badass: Rosalina does not hold back when she's in a fight. In this series, she is one of the strongest characters.
  • Ascended Extra: She became more active in the series compared to her canon self. Even starting in main roles in different stories throughout the series.
  • Best Friend: She is close friends with Palutena and Ibuki. Ibuki played a role in helping Rosie stay in Mushroom Kingdom/Remnant.
  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: Her Supernova Rosalina count as this due to using this forms has universal consequences like cosmic radiation to destroying galaxies, etc. She would later find a way to control her Supernova in a more safe and effective means.
  • De-power: She loses access to her cosmic powers due to Raven Beak absorbing it during SPBRR's second encounter. She has been slowly recovering her powers as seen with E.M.M.I.-04SB's defeat.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Despite all the chaos that's going on in the BSL Station, Rosalina doesn't let out a single curse and replaces them with words like "holy cosmic energy" and "cosmic hellfire".
  • Hopeless with Tech: She attempted to use a computer by pointing a remote control at it. She also owns a flip phone compared to everyone else's smartphones or Scrolls.
  • Human Shield: The SA-X uses her body as a shield to prevent Blake from shooting at it.
  • Improvised Armour: Durning Dread, R.O.B would help created armor for Rosie from the E.M.M.I. they destroyed. The armor was later destroyed by Raven Beak.
    • From E.M.M.I.-01P, metal pieces to cover her arms.
    • From E.M.M.I.-02SM, a white breastplate to cover her chest.

    • In Darion, she obtains a Meteor Flail from Ibuiki and Palutena. This flail allows meteor damage with splash damage and reaches similar to the Monado's reach. It can also unleash a healing mist to heal herself and her teammates. As insurance, the damage does not kick in should Rosie accidentally hit herself with it.
    • In Darion, she received Cosmic Grenades inspired by Supernova Rosie's Cosmic Bomb but less potent and less destructive, strong enough to destroy half a room. The explosion unleashed by grenades only affects enemies and not allies. Plus, when it is used it unleashes a mini black hole to absorb and crush them and surround them before closing and unleashing debris to destroy half of the said room. Plus they regenerate, giving Rosie an unlimited amount of use from grenades.

     Dimentio

Dimentio

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dimentio_art.png
  • Back from the Dead: He didn't stay down for long as far as Dry Bowser was concerned.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: He succeeds in his goal of breaking Ruby despite being defeated. He even boasts about it! Luckily, Chaos Ruby would later be restored mentally by the main universe Ruby in Chapter 165 of Gaiden.
  • Big Bad: He is the main villain of Super Paper RWBY. However, he later becomes...
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Despite all the evidence saying otherwise, Dimentio still believes he's the same all-powerful chessmaster he was in his debut. To everyone else, he's pretty much the equivalent of an annoying bully. Then comes chapter 9 of Skyward Sword...
  • Corrupt the Cutie: He does this to Paper Ruby who becomes Chaos Ruby as a result. Chaos Ruby would later be mentally restored by the regular universe Ruby
  • Cosmic Plaything: Ever since arriving in the main universe, nothing's gone right for him, and what few victories he does get are brutally snatched away which includes mentally breaking Paper Ruby.
  • De-power: Snatcher tricks him into signing a contract that depowers him for thirty minutes. Then it gets even worse for him when he pushes it too far and ends up losing his powers for good at the hands of Chiaki.
  • Detrimental Determination: Had he simply remained dead, he would still be considered one of the biggest threats of the series. However, upon being revived in the main universe, Dimentio refuses to give up on the idea of being considered a big threat, which tends to end with him getting his butt handed to him to the point where his greatest victory- breaking Paper Ruby-is slowly being undone simply because he tried to do the same to the main Ruby, cluing her in on how to save her paper counterpart.
  • Didn't Think This Through: He thought he could make the main universe's Ruby into Chaos Ruby by dipping her in Phazon and getting rid of the nasty side effects. This, of course, puts Ruby in full control. It bit him in the butt hard.
  • Die Laughing: He had the last laugh before he died.
  • Dirty Coward: Despite all of his powers, he has no problem fleeing from danger to avoid confrontation and prefers manipulation.`
  • Fatal Flaw: PRIDE. Due to his success in breaking Paper Ruby as well as any other rare victories he manages to get, Dimentio comes to believe that he can do no wrong and that he is invincible. This generally works against him due to him underestimating his foes, leading to him getting humiliated and beaten up, culminating in him losing his powers to Chiaki. And as for his breaking Paper Ruby, main universe Ruby restored her paper counterpart to normal mentally.
  • Giver of Lame Names: Everyone agrees that he sucks at giving names to his brainwashed flunkies.
  • Hated by All: To put it simply, no one likes him, with even his allies seeming to tolerate him at best. For the heroes, this is due to his constant attempts at breaking Paper Ruby which was successful for a while, main universe Ruby, and later on Chiaki. For the villains, it's because his short-sightedness tends to cause problems for them as well, generally by making it harder for them to defeat the heroes.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: After he successfully corrupted Paper Ruby, he's been beaten around in the main universe, made fun of repeatedly, and is holding on by the skin of his teeth. Even the aforementioned corruption was gotten rid of by main universe Ruby in Chapter 165 of Gaiden.
  • Manipulative Bastard: He pulls a lot of strings behind the scenes, especially on Rubytoo break her. He succeeds during the 16th chapter.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Dimentio's actions towards Kokoro in Galaxy 2 ended up causing her to become more courageous and confident as a person along with gaining a new weapon in the process. And throughout the rest of Galaxy 2 continues to backfire on it.
  • Oh, Crap!: His reaction whenever something doesn't go as he was planning, but a particularly memorable one is during Chapter 210 of Gaiden, where he realizes that, due to Dimension D's new Logical Weakness (namely, it now gives anyone who's name starts with D a power boost), he's just locked himself in there with a now majorly powered up Donkey Kong.
  • Power-Up: He obtained both a Keyblade and Order Magic during Chapter 203 of Super RWBY Gaiden.
    • He would later obtain a Heartbinder that allows him to summon the Doomers and control them.
    • Dimentio fixed an issue with Dimension D where not only he can make himself stronger, but he can also weaken Chaos Magic.
    • He also obtained his own Aura along with a Semblance called EMP, which allowed him to shut down any form of power that an opponent has, making them weaker.
  • Recurring Character: Dimentio has become once since Super Paper RWBY, causing havoc (or at least trying) whenever he appears.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Ever since appearing in the main universe, it's a wonder how he's still alive. From his trying to turn Ruby into Chaos Ruby by fixing Phazon's side effects to turning Mario into Mr. M, Dimentio's appearances always end with him being humiliated and called out in some fashion.
  • Troll: He enjoys provoking his enemies, Salem is usually the victim of his trolling. When he crosses realities he also enjoys screwing with Ruby.
  • Villain Decay: Yeah, comparing him in his debut to now is like comparing a killer whale to a goldfish.
  • Villainous Harlequin: A literal example.

The Bean Bean Kingdom

     Fawful

Fawful

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fawful_bis.png
  • Big Bad: He was promoted to the main antagonist in Bowser's Inside Story, and boy, does he know it.
  • Bullying the Dragon: He takes great pleasure in taunting Kyoko Kirigiri, the latter saying she's going to make him eat his words the next time they meet.
  • Cloud Cuckoolander: He says some of the most outlandish things like "Mustard of Doom".
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?:
    • He's not afraid to taunt the heroes while holding the Dark Star in his hands, especially Bowser and Kyoko.
    • He even taunted the likes of Ganondorf and SEPHIROTH before turning them into stone.
  • The Dragon: He was this to Cackletta in Superstar Saga plus Bowser's Minions.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Final Fantasy VII style too, courtesy of the One-Winged Angel himself!
  • Sanity Slippage: In Partners in Time, he didn't take his loss well. However, by the time Bowser's Inside Story rolls around, he seems to be in control again.
  • Taken for Granite: Subverted, as he was the one turning the villains of Smash Bros (Plus Salem's Inner Circle, and Roman and Neo) into stone. Strangely, the base of the statue turns them back to normal, as Bowser had found out.
    • In Ganondorf's case, he busts himself out of there with the help of the Triforce of Power.

Wario series

     Wario

Wario

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px_wario_mp100.png
  • Circling Birdies: This happens to the poor guy after getting cornered by Creepers
  • Ditzy Genius: Wario is smart and resourceful enough to run a successful microgame company, yet he has a tendency to throw his common sense out the window when it comes to treasure.
  • Fantastic Nuke: What happens when Wario eats Oatmeal Cookies? The Schnee Mansion blew up.
  • Gasshole: A no-brainer, after all, it's Wario.
  • Greed: Dude, it's Wario.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Using the Wario Land titles, Wario is depicted as absolutely unkillable. From taking a fall into the lava in Wario Land: JINX It! to being burned alive by the Kulve Taroth in Chapter 249 in Super RWBY Gaiden, Wario walks all of it off like it's nothing.
  • Pooled Funds: He was gonna go for a dive in his vault until he slammed into the ground. He was so angry, he demanded to know what happened to his money. He didn't see the giant hole in the ground that was made by Treasure Knight who was hauling off Wario's cash.
  • Related in the Adaptation: While their relationship is pretty ambiguous in the games, this iteration of Wario and Walugi seem to be actually brothers. Subverted as of Chapter 247 of Super RWBY Gaiden, where Wario apparently picked up Waluigi from the streets prior to the events of Mario Tennis, though Wario sees him as a brother regardless of whether or not they're related.
  • Squashed Flat: Wario is crushed by a boulder, and he simply just brushes it off a few moments later like it was no big deal.

     Waluigi

Waluigi

     Captain Syrup

Captain Syrup

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/captain_syrup_shake_it.png
  • Evil Is Petty: Because Team MAJC stole the endless coin sack from her at the end of Wario Land: JINX It!, she decided to not only frame the team for theft and assault but also impersonate a high-ranking Atlas Military official and send a squad of Atlas Military soldiers after Team MAJC to bring them in, whether it be dead or alive.
  • Fantastically Indifferent: Syrup is completely indifferent to what Nyx does to the Wario Bros after they defeat the Shake King.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After MAJC took the Bottomless Coin Sack away from her after beating her up, she goes out of her way to frame them for theft, assault, and what have you. She even sneaks into Atlas to pose as a high-ranking Atlas Military official and send a squad of soldiers to Vacuo to bring team MAJC in, dead or alive. She was even there to witness the whole thing. Later on, when she's brought in for interrogation and Makoto Naegi grills her, she smugly reveals her entire confession to him and was so sure she'd win that she hired Miles Edgeworth to make sure things went her way. It all came crashing down when Wario came in and pulled out the Bottomless Coin Sack and Edgeworth pulled out a Recorder that Makoto had given him, revealing that he had been playing along and was waiting to strike at the proper moment... and then she is promptly arrested by Esdeath and Ironwood.
  • Nonchalant Dodge: She casually jumps away from a punch from Wario, she even teases him about it too.
Syrup: My my, is that how you greet an old friend~?

Donkey Kong Country

     Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/donkeykongssbu.png
  • And This Is for...: After he finishes beating the utter crap out of Dimentio, DK lets him know that it was for both Chiaki and Paper Ruby.
  • Dumb Muscle: What everyone thinks he is. In truth, he's a Genius Bruiser.
  • For the Lulz: The reason that he and Diddy Kong like to pretend they can't speak. It's funny.
  • Implied Death Threat: Once he's finished beating up Dimentio, he warns him to stay away from people he cares about, otherwise DK is going to start actively hunting for him.
  • Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: One taken straight from the film before he begins his beating of Dimentio.
    Now you die.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Inflicts one on Dimentio for his beatdown on Chiaki.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: He can talk perfectly fine. He just likes to pretend he and Diddy Kong can't as a running joke.

     King K. Rool

King K. Rool

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/king_k_rool_spirit.png
  • Arch-Enemy: He becomes this to Yang as of RWBY: DK 64. Though as of the fifth chapter of Super RWBY Gaiden, they're on better terms.
  • Bullying a Dragon: King K. Rool cannot let go of the grudge he has for Yang when she beat the crap out of him when they first met. So he proceeds to take away her aura and insult her every chance he gets, not to mention relishing creaming her repeatedly in his fights with her. It doesn't end well for him at the end.
  • Easily Forgiven: He gets this treatment in the Isle of Armor by Yang after the latter regrets her actions despite all he has done to her and her friends.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite his cruel treatment of Yang he admitted he went too far and only did it because Yang kept being insensitive and insulting him which led to his actions in RWBY: DK 64.
  • Jerkass: To RWBY, but mostly Yang.
  • Near-Villain Victory: The dust has settled. DK Isle is no more. Yang is believed to be dead. K. Rool celebrates his victory while Ruby despairs while everyone else is pissed. However, Yang rises from the ashes... and boy, she's pissed.
  • Rage Breaking Point: It's revealed in Isle of Armor that K. Rool didn't hate Yang at first. However, over time his resentment of her grew every time she made a cruel joke to him in his eyes, and her lack of empathy for him made it grow until he eventually snapped and decided to go full out in RWBY: DK 64. He admits he went too far and was glad Tai and the others snapped him to his senses.
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill: You have to have an immense hatred for someone if you shove a Smash Ball in the Blast-o-matic's Generator and fire an intense laser that results in a massive explosion.

     Cranky Kong

Donkey Kong Sr. / Cranky Kong

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crankydkcr_215.png
  • Big Damn Hero: Yang might have saved everyone after her final fight with K. Rool, but the real star goes to Cranky Kong. If he didn't give Yang her aura back with a potion he created, Team RWBY would have had one less member, and Ruby without a sister.
  • Grumpy Old Man: Pretty much how it is with Cranky.
  • Not So Above It All: Joins Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong in raiding the Mario Toy Company in Patent Pending when it's revealed one of the Minis is a Mini Donkey Kong.
  • Oh, Crap!: Twice in a row during Patent Pending, first when he asks Donkey Kong if the latter has his mech insured and then lets out a "Well… shi-" when he finds out it isn't.
  • Touché: Mutters this in Patent Pending when after he says he liked Pauline better when she was screaming "Help" all the time, she responds that she liked him better when he wasn't complaining about today's youth.
  • Twitchy Eye: Gains one in Patent Pending when he finds out Donkey Kong doesn't have his mech ensured.

Kid Icarus

     Pit

Pit

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pit_kid_icarus.png
  • Badass Adorable: Pit is a massive dork.
  • Berserk Button: He may be all friendly and a complete dork, but the moment you insult his girl in front of him, he becomes a completely different angel. CRDL learned this the hard way.
  • Curse Cut Short: He almost cursed in the infirmary, but the nurse didn't let him.
Pit: AAAAAAAAGH! THIS HURTS LIKE A-
    Nurse: Language!
  • Distracted by the Sexy: During RWBY and the Seven Sirens, he gets a little distracted upon seeing Ruby in a bikini.
  • Go Through Me: He blocks a killing blow from Dark Ruby and then deflects her back. He then says she'd have to go through him if she wants to take out Ruby. It starts a chain reaction of everyone protecting Ruby from her dark self.
Pit: If you want to go through her, you're gonna have to go through me!
Yang: (cocking her gauntlets) And me.
  • Healing Spring: Pit loves hot springs just a little too much.
  • Kick the Dog: Pit grabs a Bee Mushroom as bee wings replace his angel wings. However, to his dismay, he still can't fly without Palutena's help.
    Pit: Love you too, universe...
  • Love Confession: Pit realizes his love for Ruby after her soul is taken away by the Chaos Kin. He finally admits his feelings after they save him with the Rewind Spring.
  • Obsessed with Food: Floor Ice Cream.
  • Official Couple: Pit finally confesses to Ruby and starts their relationship.
  • Oh, Crap!: Pit has this moment when Bayonetta finds him. Luckily, Team JNPR comes in at the right moment.
    • He is completely surprised when the Chaos Kin brings in the Subspace Army.
  • Power-Up: During Christmas, Ruby gave her boyfriend a Scythe called Icarus’s Rose. It can turn into a bow and staff and shoot rose arrows and rose throb bullets.
  • Precision F-Strike: Normally, Pit doesn't curse but when the Chaos Kin takes Ruby's soul, he loses it.
    Pit: YOU BASTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD!
  • Thanks for the Mammary: He dives into Skyworld's hot spring, unaware that Ruby is in the Hot Spring as well. Pit touches Ruby's chest and squeezes it, wondering what he was squeezing since he had his eyes closed. When he comes up for air, he realizes who he's touching. It results in a massive slap from Ruby. Yang, meanwhile, has other ideas...

     Palutena

Palutena, Goddess of Light

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lady_palutena.png
  • Easily Forgiven: Averted during the Isle of Armor, Palutena reveals that while she never hated Yang, she didn't like her for harming Pit. Even when Yang apologized for her actions many stories later, she told her she wouldn't forgive her just yet.
  • So Proud of You: She expresses this after noticing how much Kokoro has grown as a person during and after the Phazon War when she watched her giving Jataro some encouraging advice as someone who speaks from experience.
  • Superior Successor: Palutena thinks this when her guidance is superior to Snake's Codecs. Snake disagrees which results in the two butting heads.

     Dark Pit

     Hades

Hades, Lord of the Underworld

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hadesart.png
  • Affably Evil: Ever since he returned, he's more laid back and more interested in annoying the heroes for his amusement.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: Hades, OF ALL PEOPLE, calls out Data Xehanort for having a very complicated plan involving splitting himself up by thirteen darknesses and even having some of them time travel.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Not even he likes Damian.
  • He's Back!: He didn't stay down for long, because he made his return to Chibi.
    • As of Super RWBY Galaxy's last chapter, he makes his grand return because the restored universe brought him back.
  • Large Ham: It’s Hades, it’s to be expected with him.
  • Spoiler: Grif introduced Star Wars to the RWBY group in Chibi, and what does Hades do? He flat-out spoils Leia Luke's sister.
  • Troll: He's a delightful troll even though everyone else gets annoyed by his antics.
  • Villain Respect: He told Summer and Rosalina they have to earn his respect, a fact he admitted he normally doesn't do.

     Viridi

Viridi, Goddess of Nature

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/viridi.png
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Viridi gets herself corrupted by Phazon thanks to Dark Samus.
  • Brick Joke: Viridi thinks Pit and Ruby hooking up would never happen, and if they did, she'd eat a sandwich with Poison Ivy in it. She goes through with it.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: Hades makes fun of her for eating a Poison Ivy sandwich. She goes ballistic on him.
  • Groin Attack: After being called a moe and a loli by Travis, she gives him the what for after getting completely annoyed with him.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She may not like humans, but she was willing to work with RWBY and JNPR after Palutena is possessed by the Chaos Kin.
  • Odd Friendship: With Bernadetta, of all people.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Turns out Viridi has quite the sailor mouth on her whenever she's completely annoyed with something.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Viridi lays into everyone ''hard'' after Dino Piranha's defeat.

     Forces Of Nature

Kirby

     Kirby

Kirby

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kirby_ksa.png
  • Badass Adorable: It's Kirby.
  • Berserk Button: Take his Strawberry Shortcake and he'll go ballistic. However, due to misunderstanding, he keeps blaming Dedede when someone like Elise takes it.
  • Obsessed with Food: Considering he's a bottomless pit, this is to be expected.
  • Power-Up: Anything in his universe can be used as a Power-Up
  • Power of Friendship: Uses this to gather allies and even weaponizes it into a heart that actually hurts Dark Xena and turns her to normal.

     King Dedede

King Dedede

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/king_dedede.png
  • Deadpan Snarker: Dedede is this to anyone who knows him.
  • Revenge: After getting brutally beaten up by Kirby for a missing Strawberry Shortcake, he tricks Kirby into thinking Popstar has been turned into a barren wasteland when he wakes up from a nap. Poor guy falls for it and gets squished by Dedede's hammer when he sees that Dreamland is okay.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Gives one to the heroes in Partners in Time for reassembling the Cobalt Star, saying that often an artifact is destroyed, there is often a very good reason for it. Becomes a Call-Back when he sealed Nightmare away and divided up the Star Rod to keep him sealed.

    Marx: NICE GOING, GENIUUUUUUUS!

  • The Dreaded: Played for Laughs. Both Meta Knights are terrified of her.
  • I Warned You: Susie warned everyone not to mess with Extra Planet Beta because of the high winds. Marx didn't listen and got himself and an unwitting Taranza was blown away.
  • Nothing Is the Same Anymore: Susie turned Francisca's homeworld into an ice cream planet, much to Francisca's anger. To Susie's credit, she thought the planet was uninhabited.

  • Death Seeker: Chapter 143 of Gaiden reveals that he just wants to die but Morpho Knight will not grant him his death just yet not until Morpho comes back.
  • The Dreaded: Considering he's the most powerful Star Warrior in existence, it would be pretty dreadful to fight him.
  • Kick the Dog: He did not have the best of luck in General Shroob's UFO. Marx and Dark Xena give him crap over this.

     Morpho Knight

Morpho Knight

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ksa_morpho_knight_model.png
  • Brutal Honesty: In Gaiden Chapter 207, he tells Penny that he had shown SAPR what she used to be like (R3-B7) and says that if Penny and the other scientists had told SAPR from the start, she wouldn't have cared and it's on them.

  • Diabolus ex Nihilo: His butterfly form comes out of nowhere when Galacta Knight is battling the heroes.

  • Half the Man He Used to Be: Galacta Knight cut him in half before stomping on his remains repeatedly.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: in Chapter 143 of Gaiden, he says he's the concept of death and cannot be killed.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After getting beaten in Forgotten Land, he's nicer to the heroes and teams up with them to battle Chaos Elifis and lets Galacta Knight and Summer say goodbye to their friends and family before he takes them to the afterlife.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Ever since Forgotten Land, he can shift between his butterfly and knight forms.

  • Ax-Crazy: True to his character, he is a mentally unstable psychopath.

  • Hammerspace: She pretty much stores her camping gear in her backpack, much to everyone's surprise.
  • Heroic BSoD: When Melli exploits Gloria's fear of the Zubat line by having an Alpha Crobat battle her Cinderace. She shuts down HARD.

    • Falinks, Sandaconda, Dragapult, and Cramorant, meanwhile, are her weapons.
    • During RWBY: Wings of Ruin, Gloria obtained several Monsties. They consist of Puffy (Paolumu) and Aryan (Tigrex).

     Victor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/victor_0.png
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Usually a lot chiller compared to his hot-headed younger sister. However, if you mess with his sister, he drops his nice guy act and will show no mercy.
  • Official Couple: Victor and Neo started dating sometime after RWBY: The Hisuian Legend.
  • Related in the Adaptation: He is Gloria's older brother.
  • Team Pet: Eevee→Jolteon, Fennekin-Braixen-Delphox, Dracovish, Absol, Baxcalibur, and Naganadel.

  • Flipping the Bird: She says she doesn't normally do it, but considering Damian mutilated her, she proceeds to flip him off.

    • Another example is when she was facing Damian sometime after he mutilated the girl.
Marnie: I think I speak for everyone here when I say- *while flipping him off* FUCK. YOU.
  • Running Gag: She keeps getting mistaken for a goth girl instead of a punk girl much to her annoyance. The only exception was Bowsette who got it right.
  • Team Mom: She'll take care of you if you have a status ailment.
  • Team Pet: Has Pokemon same team based on Sword and Shield, except her Liepard is Shiny.
    • She also captured a Shiny Hydregion which she shares with Zinnia.

     Hop

Hop

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hop_4.png
  • Tummy Cushion: His Snorlax counts for this when they need a soft landing.

     Bede

Bede

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bede.png
  • Jerkass: He was pretty much an ass to Red when they first met. He's pretty much softened up after Gloria beat the crap out of him.
  • Power-Up: He received a Glove that allows him to use FF thanks to Aerith.

     Bea

Bea

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bea_2.png
  • Badass Teacher: Serves as one for Ruby in hand-to-hand combat.
  • Crash-Into Hello: How she and Korrina met.
  • Curbstomp Battle:

  • Heroes Fight Barehanded: As a natural martial artist, she excels at that.
  • Official Couple: She is currently in a relationship with Korrina.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Allister is her brother.
  • Sweet Tooth: Bea loves sweets. She jokes that Korrina wooed her by buying her something sweet after they crashed into each other.
  • Team Pet: Machamp.
  • Through Her Stomach: While she also fell for her for other reasons, Korrina apologizing to her by getting her something sweet certainly helped.

     Klara

Klara

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/klara.png
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Knowing how she is in the games, she threatens to make Gloria and Ruby's lives miserable on the Isle of Armor.
  • Blank White Eyes: She gets these after Gloria tells her she's the champion mid-battle.
  • Oh, Crap!: She has this moment when she learns Gloria is the champion.

     Avery

Avery

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/avery.png
  • Berserk Button: Considering his League Card explains that his family considered him to be a disappointment, and adding on top that Ruby beat him thrice, Ruby unknowingly makes him snap.
  • Not Listening to Me, Are You?: Avery asks Klara if she has heard that Gloria was the champion. Her response was looking up from a magazine and asking with a resounding "What'd you say? I didn't hear you.". Avery believes she's going to have a rude awakening when she finds out.

     Mustard

Dojo Master Mustard

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sword_shield_mustard_3.png
  • Cool Old Guy: He's pretty much a chill dude in the Master Dojo. He even went out of his way to give Ruby a A Dynamax Band and Wishing Star

     Honey

Dojo Matron Honey

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vshoney.png
  • Adaptational Deviation: In the games, she has a normal Gallade and has either a G-Max Venusaur or Blastoise. Here? She can Mega Evolve her Gallade and Dynamaxes her Togekiss because Bulbasaur went with Ruby and Squirtle went with Neptune.
  • Identical Stranger: Some of the heroes believed she looked exactly like Princess Daisy. Honey simply shrugs it off.

     Peony

Peony

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/256px_sword_shield_peony.png
  • Hypocritical Humor: He claims he is not a large ham after Calyrex refers to him as Mr. Loudmouth, yet he ironically does the very thing without realizing it.
  • Large Ham: He's a chipper dude, even laughs heartily if he's defeated.
  • Mistaken Identity: Gloria mistakes him for Chairman Rose, and nearly bops him on the head with her lead pipe until he shows a picture of his brother.
    • To be fair, Peony does look exactly like Rose.

Hoenn

     Zinnia

Zinnia

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zinnia_pokemon_oras.png
  • Big Damn Heroes: She and Rayquaza arrive in Galactic Conquest Prime and easily beat Kraid.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Beats the living heck out of Kyle in Wings of Ruin and finishes by getting him into a chokehold.
  • Just a Flesh Wound: How she regards Rayquaza stabbing her, in spite of it leading her to cough up blood and leaving a nasty scar.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Rayquaza impales her in the stomach during their first meeting, leaving her with a nasty scar. Of course, she waves it off saying it's just a flesh wound to Nora.
  • I Shall Taunt You: Taunts Kyle during their battle in Wings of Ruin as she easily dodges his attacks.
  • Mythology Gag: During her flashback, when trying to appeal to Rayquaza to join her, her dialogue is lifted from Pokémon Adventures. Likewise, Rayquaza stabs her in the stomach with his tail and blasts her point-blank with Hyper Beam which is what happened in the manga (although in this version, the Sky High Pokémon doesn't drop her into the sea).
  • Power-Up: She eats a Super Carrot and gains rabbit ears and the ability to fly.
  • Riding the Bomb: Zinnia hitches a ride on a Bullet Bill to destroy a cage to have her friends move on. Later, she does this with a King Bill.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: After revealing why Rayquaza is so territorial, Zinnia asks if the gang ever tried saying "I come in peace" to calm Rayquaza. Judging by the gang's stunned reactions, they didn't.
  • Tasty Gold: Zinnia believes the coins that the Hungry Lumas eat are actually chocolate coins dipped in solid gold to prevent melting. To her dismay, the moment she takes a bite...
    Bede: Well?
Zinnia: Nope... noth chocolath... ith juth thothid golph. (spits it out)
  • Team Pet: Her team is the same as in ORAS with now Rayquaza on her team, plus sharing a Shiny Hydregion Marnie captured.
  • Troll: Teases Kyle like there's no tomorrow in Wings of Ruin. According to her, he makes it way too easy.

     Steven

Steven Stone

Hisui

     Akari

Akari

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akari_pla.png
  • Supporting Protagonist: She serves as one for the cast in RWBY: The Hisuian Legend.
  • Team Pet: She has a team consisting of Torch (Cyndaquil- Quilava- Hisuian Typhlosion), Kassie (Gastrodon), Ribbon (Eevee-Slyveon), Athena (Kirlia), Marina (Octillery) and Gulch ( Misdreavus → Mismagius)

     Adaman

Adaman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/story_adaman.png
  • Nice Guy: Doesn't have any issue with the time-traveling characters being time travelers, saying they must have been sent back in time by Almighty Sinnoh to stop Neo Team Plasma and tells them to tell Akari that they're not from there.
  • Spotting the Thread: He was able to tell Ruby and the others are time travelers for a number of reasons such as being in town when they got their "outlandish clothes" and being able to see the technology in Marnie's eye circuits that glow in the dark.

Paldea

     Futaba's Contact

Penny / Cassiopeia

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scarletviolet_artwork_penny.png
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: During the events of Galaxy 2, she took a sample of Phazon, discovered its name, and began doing experiments on how to cure it when the Miracle Cure showed up and destroyed the Phazon...right as she was about to uncover a breakthrough.
  • Team Pet: Notably, she has all the Eeveelution Pokémon, not just six like in the canon.
  • The Cracker: Like in canon, she's this, doing some digging after not hearing about human and Liepard transfusions and finding out about the world of Pokémon being connected to Remnant, the network is compromised and Eggman revealing everything and digging up his chats and finding Futaba's name and the latter is the one responsible for destroying Remnant's network. Penny offers her help to finish the network, assuring Futaba she's not malevolent and Futaba can trust Penny.

Pokémon

     Mewtwo

Mewtwo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mewtwo150.png
  • Calling the Old Man Out: He straight up confronts Ozpin about what's really going on with Xena. He even threatens to end him if things get any worse. Later the two talk it out with both helping each other.
  • The Cynic: Despite helping Xena and letting others aid her, he constantly states it's inevitable that she'll fall to her dark side and they're only slowing it down. After a second talk with Ozpin, he tries to be a bit more optimistic.
  • Irony: He called out on Ozpin for making Xena's conditioning worse. In The Healing of the Soul, turns out he was also no better as, like Ozpin, his 'help' actually did even more damage to Xena's fractured mind making Dark Xena retaliate further.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He might be rude and overall a bit extreme, but he does care for his friends in his own way including Xena.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Turns out, he himself had worsened Xena's condition with his lessons as it caused Dark Xena to be in immense pain and the reason she went on a rampage.
  • Warrior Therapist: He might be cold, but he's really worried about Xena's dark self coming out.

     Dialga

Dialga

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dialga483.png
  • Berserk Button: He lost it when E. Gadd messed with time. He even almost killed him hadn't Arceus intervened.
  • Oh, Crap!: Dialga notices some Shroob UFOs aiming their blasters at Arceus, who is busy telling the story of Dry Bowser to Sienna and Ironwood. He quickly springs into action and tears them to shreds, but one UFO sneaks past him and rains lasers on the pleasant chat, much to his horror. Arceus doesn't take kindly to this when his tea is ruined.
  • Time Master: The master of time himself.

     Arceus

Arceus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arceus493.png
  • Berserk Button: While he doesn't go berserk or show rage, one can tell the God of Pokemon is angry at the Dark Marauder for harming his children (Pokemon), and gives him the rightful punishment.
  • Cruel Mercy: For his many crimes in his home series and even after it, Arceus decides to let the Dark Marauder live...by letting Giratina take him away and have his fun with him in the Distortion World.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Even though he chastised Dialga for his actions, he admits that E. Gadd shouldn't have messed with time.
  • Mission from God: Arceus sends Weiss and Blake along with their friends and family to find several Legendary Pokemon in the Crown Tundra.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: He saves E. Gadd from Dialga.

Super Smash Bros.

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Defeats Adam effortlessly.
  • Large Ham: Not as bad as his brother.
  • Super-Empowering: While the Luminary doesn't have certain moves in his world, Master Hand gave him the powers that he has in Ultimate. Unfortunately, this also includes Kamekazee and Hocus Pocus
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Sometimes he feels this way when Crazy Hand does something stupid.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: He finally decides to send an invitation to Waluigi. Crazy Hand sends the Phantom Thieves to steal it from him, much to his brother's dismay.
  • Walk and Talk: During Ganondorf's rampage, Master Hand takes him to Hyrule and chats with him before he has Ganondorf see Gerudo Town thriving. He's moved to tears as a result.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Master Hand constantly gets after Crazy Hand during his antics.

     Crazy Hand

     Tabuu

Tabuu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tabuu.png
  • Failed a Spot Check: Turns out, Tabuu only thought there was only Master Hand. He didn't realize Crazy Hand even existed until it was too late for him.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He's only in a few chapters of Gaiden, but him attacking the heroes is what ultimately leads to the worlds getting merged and allowing the stories to happen in the first place.

     Toon Link

Link, the Hero of Winds

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7vqlzaw.png
  • The Prankster: He likes to pull pranks. He even did a prank war with Emerald.

     Ganondorf

Ganondorf Dragmire / Ganon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ganondorfssbu.png
  • Alternate Self: His Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess incarnations appear, and Calamity Ganon is referenced as well.
  • Badass Boast: He proceeds to boast in front of Sora of why he's the Great King of Evil. It's enough to terrify the Keyblade Wielder.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Despite Bowser landing a few hits, Ganondorf kicked Bowser's scaly tail without even breaking a sweat.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Ocarina of Time's Ganondorf was angry that he returned to Smash Bros, so Master Hand took him to Hyrule to show him how Gerudo Town was doing. Ever since then, he's been incredibly a lot nicer, much to Ghirahim's dismay. That said, he is still very arrogant and rude, as shown during his conversation with Urbosa. Link would comment on this change when Ganondorf saves Link from a Shroob attack.
Link: I never expected you to be on the side of good. What happened?
Ganondorf: Let's just say Master Hand did some... persuading.
Link: He took you to Gerudo Town, didn't he?
    Ganondorf: Yes.
    • This comes full circle when he deliberately stops Demise's curse, putting an end to the cycle once and for all.
  • I'll Kill You!: Ganondorf was ready to bring the punishment on Elise for humiliating him when she possessed him.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • In Chapter 100 of Chibi, he tells Yang and Tifa "Well done, girls" after they destroy a golden Bowser statue in Punch-A-Bunch.
  • Reformed, but Not Tamed: While he did pull a Heel–Face Turn, he's still very ruthless when it comes to dealing with his goals.
  • Screw Destiny: Upon learning about his potential future as Calamity Ganon, he makes it clear to Ghirahim that he isn't interested.
    • He also refuses to accept being an incarnation of Demise, personally helping ensure it never comes to pass.

Twilight Princess

     Midna

Midna

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/midna_tphd.png
  • Promoted to Playable: She became a fighter in the smash roster after the events of ATMC: Skyward Sword.
  • Troll: She loves to mess with people.

Skyward Sword

     Ghirahim

Demon Lord Ghirahim

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ghirahim_ssbu.png
  • Adaptational Badass: He becomes a lot more powerful thanks to fusing himself with past versions and Ocarina of Time and stealing the power of others.
  • Big Bad: He's the main villain of ATMC: Skyward Sword.
  • Deader than Dead: He is erased from existence when Ganondorf destroys his past self.
  • Didn't Think This Through: He took Laxus's power from him to weaken him. Later on, Laxus points out to him that he took his electricity, which he can just regenerate more, considering he has resources. Zapple casually says that she buffed him back up.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: In chapter 19 of ATMC: Skyward Sword, he attempts to sow discord within the ranks of the heroes by outing the Night Raid assassins, only to discover that the heroes either understand they had their reasonings, think it's cool, or understand they're still good people. He has a bit more luck when he outs Maki as the reason for Night Raid falling, but still fails to understand that the heroes aren't going to throw one of their own under the bus.
  • Fatal Flaw: Arrogance. He often gets carried away when his plan succeeds, any miscalculation can throw him off. Another weakness is thoughtless, he cannot use the powers he steals due to circumstances such as the Fierce Deity not fully sharing or bonding with Ghirahim.
  • Hidden Agenda Villain: An Assist Trophy with malevolent intentions.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Like Dimentio, his actions tend to cause more harm than good. For example, they attempt to turn the cast against survivors of Night Raid, and others to show they do not care and find them cool.
  • Power-Up: As mentioned above, he obtains new abilities thanks to Ocarina of Time.
    • In Chapter 10 of Skyward Sword, he obtains the Triforce of both Power and Courage. He also obtained Weiss' Fierce Deity powers along with large portions of Laxus, Lana, and Cia's powers. He loses the Triforce later. He loses the rest of his power when Ganondorf kills him.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He used Maki's sword to threaten to cut Anya's throat with it to make her confess her sin.

     Daruk

Lord Daruk

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1510px_botw_daruk_artwork.png
  • Curbstomp Battle: He defeated Pyrrha rather easily due to his strength.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: Due to being a Goron, he mentioned to Pyrrha he'd be gentle with her in their battle. He still beat the crap out of her effortlessly.

     Revali

Master Revali

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/revali.png
  • Blow You Away: With Revali's Gale, he's able to manipulate the winds and move around freely. He used this to his advantage over Ren.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Revali got brainwashed by Fecto to defend him. He was later freed.

  • Big Bad: He and Ghiarhim serve as the main villains for ATMC: Skyward Sword.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Feeding Kotoko to the Imprisoned, which allowed Mine to unlock Demon Soul, which ultimately caused a huge delay in Ghirahim's plans and Demise's return.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite being evil, he is willing to protect those he cares about like ensuring Volga does not get involved.

Three Houses and Three Hopes

     Byleth and Bereto
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/feth_byleth.png
Tropes applying to both:
  • Ascended Extra: Both have become more involved in the series and become part of the Rose-Xiao Long Family.
  • Brother–Sister Team: Byleth and Bereto work well together during Chapter 141 of Gaiden.
  • Happily Adopted: Both siblings get adopted into the Rose-Xiao Long-Branwen household as in the Fire Emblem Strikers story.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Blyeth is the more active and friendly sibling while her twin brother is more quiet and reserved.

Professor Byleth Rose Eisner

  • Adaptational Jerkass: At least during her mercenary days. In canon Three Houses, Byleth was very stoic, with her past prior to meeting the Three Lords being too vague to assume anything about her personality. Here, however, Byleth is described by Beruto as being not only a cruel sister, but a vicious and ruthless mercenary with a Social Darwinist view similar to Raven. Another example is her first battle with Shez. In Three Hopes, Byleth spares Shez because her sole mission was to take out the latter's group of mercenaries and she succeeded, simply leaving Shez to live another day. Here, Byleth spares her as a form of Cruel Mercy, stating that she intends for the wildlife to kill Shez for her, something that canon Byleth never explicitly planned on. Thankfully, after Sothis calls her out on her behavior during the scuffle with Kostas and his bandits, Byleth mellows out and becomes a better person as she teaches at Garreg Mach.
  • Ascended Extra: Out of all the Three Houses cast, she has the biggest role along with Sothis and Edelgard. She has played a main supporting role throughout the series.
  • Big Sister Bully: She often bullied her twin brother, berating him for showing mercy and stealing his food. She stopped doing that by the present but has not yet apologized to Bereto for it. This caused Bereto to resent her for it. She does apologize in chapter 34 of 3D Land.
  • Cool Big Sis: She counts as this for her new family, especially for Ruby Rose. Both have a very close bond that developed through the series.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Byleth completely crushes Shez during Chapter 141 of Gaiden even after the latter temporarily unlocks her new power and the only reason why Byleth doesn't finish the job is that Jeralt calls out that he's got what Byleth and Bereto's group came for and to move out.
  • Failed a Spot Check: During her week-long pity party, she didn't realize she could call WBY and ask where Ruby is, even at the Isle of Armor. Understandably, since she and everyone else in the FETH cast are still getting used to modern technology at the time.
  • Happily Adopted: She becomes a member of the Xiaolong-Rose family after being accepted and adopted by Ruby Rose.
  • Heel–Face Turn: She used to be a rather brutal and nasty person as a mercenary, though she changed considerably after joining with Sothis after the latter gave her a massive What the Hell, Hero? speech.
  • I Have Your Wife: Family in this case. Eggman has kidnapped most of Byleth's family and forces her to spy on the heroes or he'll kill them. She's convinced they died when her cover is blown, but thankfully aren't due to Esdeath.
  • Official Couple: She and Dorothea are in a relationship and the two later get married.
  • Power-Up: Sothis allowed Byleth to regain her Awakening state without being fused to Sothis.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: She has this moment when she realizes Dark Ruby is more dangerous than she thought, leading to Ruby being almost killed.
  • Red Herring: Throughout Winter's Dusk, Byleth is described as cold by several other characters and isn't acting like herself, making it seem like Eggman kidnapped her and replaced her with a robot. She's not one. The reason she acting the way she is because Eggman is blackmailing her.
  • Social Darwinist: Before her Heel-Face Turn, she had a mindset similar to Raven Branwen, albeit even crueler.
  • Time Master: Despite Sothis getting out of her, she still can rewind time.
  • Trauma Button: The screams of her students before she used Divine Pulse are trauma for her. She admitted she could not get the voices out of her head.
  • Underestimating Badassery: She thought Ruby could handle Dark Ruby and win. She did not expect Dark Ruby to be A) Stronger compared to the other RWBY Dark clones and B) Nearly killing Ruby.
  • Warrior Therapist: To Xena, Ruby, Marnie, Weiss, Blake, and Seryu.
  • Wrecked Weapon: When she was getting her ass kicked by Nemesis, he destroys the Sword of the Creator, much to her horror.

Bereto Branwen Esiner

  • Best Friend: He is close friends with Casper and Ferdinand.
  • Characterization Marches On: In Chapter 141, he shows no hesitation in finishing off a downed Getz and is on friendlier terms with Byleth letting out a nonchalant "Hey." when first showing up, asking Byleth if she needs help and saying "Fair enough" when Byleth says she's just toying with Shez and briefly talking with Byleth about how she's going to finish off Shez.
  • The Resenter: He admits to resenting his sister for how she treated him in the past and has not apologized for it. He does accept Byleth's apology in Chapter 34 of 3D Land.
  • Successful Sibling Syndrome: Bereto admitted he is jealous of how successful his sister is despite how she used to act in the past.
  • Warrior Therapist: Bereto was studying to become one but stopped when Byleth became one without training and took all the credit.
  • You Will Be Spared: During his mercenary days, Bereto always tries to spare his enemies instead of killing them, unlike his twin sister. This doesn't occur in Chapter 141, where he kills a downed Getz with zero hesitation.

Shez

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/68187b1a_7692_471f_b61c_970d8e9a62aa.png
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: At her introduction, she's making mincemeat out of everyone she comes into contact with. And along comes Byleth...
    • When the two reunite, Shez is all eager to kill Byleth... only she gets slugged in the gut and pinned to a wall by Byleth mere seconds into the battle.
  • No Sense of Direction: Turns out Shez is awful at navigating, as we learn in Chapter 173 of Gaiden. It gets to the point where she turns right and somehow ends up in Neo Bowser City in a minute.
  • Team Pet: She obtained three Pokémon thanks to Kamek and Marnie for help with directions, healing, and companionship.
    • Nosepass, Audino, Jasper (Rockruff), and Bidoof.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: When Byleth apologizes to her, Shez makes it very clear that she's never forgiving her at all. She does acknowledge that Byleth is a changed person now, it is just hard for Shez to forgive her. She finally moves on from this after seeing Blyeth breaking down into tears because of Eggman's blackmail.

Metroid

     Samus

Samus Aran

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/samusssbu.png
  • Berserk Button: Never call her stupid.
  • Damn You, Muscle Memory!: Samus, while weakened in the Fusion Suit, instinctively tries to use certain abilities to try to bust her way through. She's quickly reminded that none of her abilities are there, such as her missiles, Charge Beam, and Morph Ball.
  • Didn't Think This Through: In the 117th Chapter of Chibi, Samus boasted to Ridley that her suit is now sentient and asks him what he thinks. He promptly destroys it within seconds.
  • Handicapped Badass: Even with her broken spine, she does not let it stop her from helping out.
  • I Can't Feel My Legs!: She lost the feeling in her legs thanks to Bradley stabbing her in the stomach.
  • The Leader: She serves as one for SPBRR.
  • Mama Bear: She sees Pikachu, Pichu, and the Baby Metroid as her kids. They see her as their mother. When Newt goes kidnapped by an EMMI, Samus proceeds to punch the snot out of it, despite not affecting it at all
  • Near-Death Experience: Getting infected with the X-Parasite would have been the end of her hadn't the Galactic Federation stepped in on time.
  • Odd Friendship: She forms a close bond with Rosalina during SPBRR Fusion.
  • Power-Up:
    • She obtains the Dread version of Power Suit thanks to the first Grand Star and Powers collected along with an exclusive Dust Beam.
    • Next Grand Star granted her the ability to use the Dust Bomb (Fire Bomb, Ice Bomb, Thunder Bomb, and Gravity Bomb) and Dust Missile (Fire Missile, Crystal Missile, Electric Missile, and Gravity Missile).
    • Durning Portal Mini Arc, She obtains the Portal Blast upgrade which allows her to use an ability similar to a Portal gun.
    • When Samus visited the Fortress of Doom, she placed her Arm Cannon into a pool of Plasma to Obtain the unique Plasma Flamethrower. This allows her to burn her enemies down with hell plasma and amusing alternate use for s'mores.
  • Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: The Metroid Queen has Blake pinned down and everyone else is either KO'd or incapacitated. The SA-X goes inside Samus to bring her back at 100%. What's the first thing she says?
Samus: Get away from her, YOU BITCH!
  • Precision F-Strike: When she finds out an X-Parasite is mimicking her movements and powers, she lets this one out.
    Samus: Ugh... fuck my life.
  • She's Back: In chapter 212 of Gaiden, Samus finally manages to heal her broken spine and is more than ready to get back into action.
  • Spit Take: When she sees her younger self.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Towards Ruby after they see what happened in the universe where Ruby gave up her Phazon and got to wield a Keyblade thanks to Narrator Hades.

     Metroid

Metroid/Newt

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/metroid_0.png
  • Back from the Dead: After sacrificing itself to protect Samus from Mother Brain, Master Hand brought it back as an Assist Trophy to surprise a mopey Samus.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He saves Samus from Mother Brain for a second time thanks to the help of his fellow Metroids. This act allows Samus to regain the Hyper Beam to defeat Mother Brain.
  • I Got Bigger: Newt becomes an Alpha Metroid as of SPBRR: Fusion. Durning SPBRR: Dread, he would become a Gamma Metroid and then a Zeta Metroid. Finally, he reaches the Omega Metroid stage during SPBRR: Promisee Day.
  • Recurring Character: The Baby Metroid has appeared throughout the series, sometimes aiding Samus.

     Adam Malkovich

General Adam Malkovich

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/adam_malkovich_other_m_7329.png
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/adam_ai.png
  • Adaptational Deviation: In this version, human Adam and A.I. Adam are one and the same.
  • Ascended Extra: In Dread, he only showed up at the beginning and end of the game and was impersonated by Raven Beak for the majority of the game. In this version, he's a lot more active.
  • Back from the Dead: Adam survives his sacrifice in this version and his mind was transformed and reborn as an A.I. while his old body was discarded.
    • He would later get a smaller new body based on PS Astro Bot with the Power Suit's color scheme, fully completing his rebirth, much to his chagrin.
  • Big Damn Heroes: In Dread, he saves Samus from falling to her death into the lava.
  • Catchphrase: Any objections, Lady?
  • Grand Theft Me: He occasionally takes over R.O.B. without his permission and once took over completely before letting go.
  • Power-Up: His new robotic body includes flying/hovering thanks to the unlimited amount of Gravity Dust running in his systems along with various built-in gadgets such as anti-gravity repulsors, a water gun, a grappling hook, a paintball gun, shuriken blades, an inflatable inner tube, a plasma cannon, a flashlight with an incandescent and UV setting, and 4K-quality camera optics for taking pictures and videos. He also gains an AR headset (which looked very similar to the PlayStation VR headset) that includes communication software and a HUD guide for his external surroundings.

     Ridley

Ridley

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ridley_5.png
  • An Arm and a Leg: More like wings, tail, and pretty much the whole body after Ridley fights his clone.
  • Argumentof Contradictions: He gets into one with Neo-Ridley to see who is the better one until Blake gets them to stop.
  • Big Bad: He and Dark Samus serve as the main antagonists of Super RWBY Galaxy 2: Galactic Conquest Prime.
  • Berserk Button: The moment he finds out he's been cloned, he does not take it well.
  • The Bus Came Back: After an absence, he came back to Sunshine as he was confirmed for Smash. And he brought a friend along, much to Samus' annoyance.
  • Butt-Monkey: He is reduced to this after Galaxy 2 with he keeps getting put in comical situations.
  • Diabolus ex Nihilo: Instead of the Space Kraken, Ridley came charging in and had RWBY, Pit, and Samus fight him instead.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • He thinks Calasmos is beyond evil and claims that he'll fry him if he ever shows his face in Remnant.
    • Even he thought that what Medic did to Ruby was beyond wrong, especially after learning that it massively shortened her life span.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • When he sees a much younger Samus approaching her older self.
      Ridley: THERE'S TWO OF THEM?!
    • He then has another moment of this when he learns about the SA-X. Later on, he comes to find out that there are a total ten SA-Xs and also learns there's an eleventh snooping around Sector 6.
      Ridley: Well... shit.

     Dark Samus

Metroid Prime/Dark Samus Aran

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1e0a8842ca3415c57252df20b0b0514f.png
  • Big Bad: She and Ridley serve as the main antagonists of Super RWBY Galaxy 2: Galactic Conquest Prime.
  • Broken Record: Dark Samus becomes this during Galaxy 2 due to her desire to repeat her plans for Phazon over and over again.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Her actions in Galactic Conquest Prime are setting her up for at least a brutal death at the hands of the heroes.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Twice from both the Lord of the Mountain and Yen Sid. Her fight with Peko is only slightly closer since the Swordswoman is holding back.
  • Evil Doppelgänger: To Samus.
  • Evil Makes You Ugly: Some Smashers thought that since Dark Samus was Samus' clone, they thought there was a hot chick underneath the dark armor. Dark Pit thought otherwise and asked Dark Samus to take off her helmet. The curious Smashers screamed in terror. Humorously, however, she does get a humanoid form from the Universe Reset that is quite attractive.
  • Failed a Spot Check: When attempting to contact Star Wolf to deal with the heroes, she completely fails to notice that Star Fox is in the same room as them, something that Wolf uses to trick her.
  • Kill It with Fire: Burnt alive by Cinder.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After causing so much pain and misery throughout Galaxy 2, she not only gets betrayed by Ridley and the Space Pirates, she gets killed by Cinder Fall in revenge for the abuse she put on her.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Dark Samus has shown to be very manipulative in having others do her bidding, like how she was able to manipulate Marnie into fighting Rollodillo and Gloria.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Her poor treatment of Bowser Junior leads him to run to the Comet Observatory and reveal to the heroes what she's planning.
  • Oh, Crap!: While not as bad as Ridley, she was a bit unnerved when she saw a much younger Samus walking toward her older self.
  • Revenge: Ultimately, Dark Samus' entire existence and plans in Galaxy 2 are motivated by petty revenge against Samus for "taking" everything from her and destroying Phazon the first time.
  • Sadist: She shows great pleasure in making others, especially Samus and Rosalina, suffer.
  • Sanity Slippage: After losing to both the Lord of the Mountain and Yen Sid plus a powerful warning from Yukari, Dark Samus is starting to lose her sanity and become paranoid and desperate.
  • Suicidal Overconfidence: Big-time. Whether it corrupting Doomguy with Phazon and getting Ibuki mad at her and vowing to tap dance on Dark Samus's face, stealing Bowser Jr's Megahammer, mocking him over it and causing him to run away to the heroes, or trying to find some way to use Rosalina's backstory against her because of Rosalina's Mama Bear tendencies. It's getting increasingly obvious that Dark Samus is in for an incredibly painful death by the time Galactic Conquest Prime wraps up.
  • Villain Respect: As overconfident as she is in herself, Dark Samus does give respect to people not named Samus who manage to best her, such as the Lord of the Mountain, Doom Slayer, and Peko.

     SA-X

Samus Aran-X

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sa_x_closeup_14.png
  • Adaptational Badass: Compared to its canon counterpart, it's far more intelligent... and scarily so!
    • It was shown to learn sign language by the time It multiple into 11 clones.
  • Back from the Dead: No matter how many times it is destroyed, it keeps returning through clones.
    • Ultimately, one Clone manages to survive and is heading to Planet ZDR.
  • Big Damn Heroes: It proceeds to try and stop the Metroid Queen, only to get easily defeated by it.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Its battle with Blake results in this.
  • The Dreaded: Considering it's mimicking Samus at full capacity and those dreaded footsteps, it makes even Rosalina afraid of this monster. Ridley himself would admit to being terrified of SA-X and would team up with his most hated enemy just to eliminate it.
  • Evil Doppelgänger: Another one for Samus.
  • It Can Think: Unlike the canon counterpart, SA-X learns from its mistakes and focuses on new strategies to counter SPBRR during each encounter such as teaming up with Nettori for example

     Mother Brain

Mother Brain

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/motherbrain.png

     Raven Beak

Raven Beak / Ashkar Behek

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raven_beak_4.png
  • Adaptational Badass: While he is already a huge threat to Samus in Dread, in the series he becomes even deadlier and stronger when he absorbs the cosmic powers of Rosalina, allowing him to defeat SPBRR with ease. Plus he was able to take Kraid away before the heroes could react back during Galaxy 2.
  • The Cameo: Raven Beak makes an unexpected appearance in Super RWBY Galaxy 2: Galactic Conquest Prime by capturing Kraid before leaving in a portal and spooking Samus with the Chozo language.
  • We Will Meet Again: He makes it clear to Samus that they will be seeing each other soon after the first encounter. This becomes true during the first chapter of SPBRR: Dread.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

     Pyra

Pyra

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/xc2pyra.png
  • Cute Bruiser: She's cute, but packs quite the wallop.
  • Playing with Fire: As she's a fire manipulator, it's to be expected.
  • Supreme Chef: Unlike Mythra, she's a very good chef as demonstrated in the 130th Gaiden where she was able to recreate Mythra's failed dish and make it delicious and tasty-looking.
  • You Remind Me of X: Part of the reason she and Mythra become so close to Sora is that he reminds them very heavily of Rex.

     Mythra

Mythra

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ssbu_mythra.png
  • Comically Missing the Point: As she, Pyra, and Sora try to figure out how to stop the Fawful Express, Sora accidentally turns on the windshield wipers and the wiper fluid.
Mythra: Hey, look at the bright side... the windshield's clean! *Sora gives her a look* What?
  • Deadpan Snarker: She can be quite snarky when she wants to be.
  • Hypocritical Humor: She stages a train heist with Sora and Pyra, but the moment things get heated from Bowser, she demands to know who was responsible for staging such a thing.
Mythra: Ugh, whose bright idea was it to do a train heist?
    —> Pyra: Yours.
Mythra: ... Why did I listen to myself?
  • Lethal Chef: Unlike Pyra, she's a very terrible chef as demonstrated in the 130th Gaiden where the dish she made was so unappetizing and inedible to the point where it almost made Remy vomit upon smelling it and Yuyuko fainted after tasting it.
  • Super-Speed: Compared to Pyra, she's fast on her feet.
  • You Remind Me of X: Part of the reason she and Pyra become so close to Sora is that he reminds them very heavily of Rex.

  • Early-Bird Cameo: The trio had a cameo in Chapter 166 of Super RWBY Gaiden, performing at the Sarasaland party.
  • Enemy Mine: Despite the group's still being at odds, Shiver helps the heroes take out a Squidzilla.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Shiver naturally wants to beat the heroes, but when she sees Ikura freeze up over one of her attacks, she instantly orders Master Mega to stop using it.
  • Friendly Enemy: After teaming up with the heroes to stop a Squidzilla and a Big Run, Deep Cut does ease up on them, but still plans to fight them for the treasure.
  • Poor Communication Kills: The whole reason they are fighting the heroes is that they wouldn't let them explain that they aren't interested in treasure.
  • Team Pet: Shiver has her own Pokémon Team she obtained at some point, which consists of Torterra, Mantine, Lapras, Sharpedo/Mega Sharpedo, Garchomp/Mega Garchomp, and Octillery.
  • Villainy-Free Villain: While they are antagonists of Return of the Mammalians, they never do anything truly evil, and, even worse threats present themselves, they will join up with the heroes with no complaints.

  • Mission Control: With Callie and Marie joining the heroes in their fight, she's left to manage the home base and keep watch over Octavio.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: Whatever Tartar did to her left some serious mental scars, leaving the formerly chatty and energetic Inkling much quieter.

     Agent 4

Agent 4

  • Big Damn Heroes: How he makes his entrance into the story-pulling a Splashdown to take down Frye.
  • Gender Flip: Canon agent 4 is implied to be a female Inkling. Here, Agent 4 is male.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Is given the name Azure.
  • Properly Paranoid: He's the only hero to realize that Mr. Grizz not only knows exactly where they are but also wants them to help out at Inkblot with the Big Run is extremely suspicious.
  • Ship Tease: He's gets rather blushy around Marie.

     Mr. Grizz

Mr. Grizz

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/699ad5ab_ef9d_40e8_8354_d30a5bc5ef48.png
  • Adaptational Badass: He uses several new attacks during his fight with the heroes, including his own Killer Wail and electrical shockwaves.
  • Batman Gambit: He alerts the heroes and Deep Cut about the Big Run at Inkblot Art Academy, banking on their good nature to get them to agree to go, then sealing up the entrance to Alterna while they're gone.
  • Bears Are Bad News: Much like in canon, he's not a great guy, considering he's planning to wipe out all Inklings and Octolings and several characters theorize that he'd do the same to other worlds.
  • Big Bad: Of CFVY: Rise of the Mammalians.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: He genuinely seems fond of Ikura, as part of his reason for telling the heroes about the Big Run was so she wouldn't learn about his plans.
  • Graceful Loser: After Cordelia shows him the Alterna logs, which reveal that humanity lives on in the Inklings and Octolings rather than getting replaced by them as he had believed, Grizz becomes content in his failure and decides to remain in space to make up for what he did.
  • Self-Imposed Exile: Although the heroes offer to save him, Grizz decides to remain in space to make up for his attempted genocide against the Inklings and Octolings.

  • Supreme Chef: Just about everyone agrees that her ramen is amazing.

  • Oh, Crap!: He has this moment when he's monitoring the SA-X... and it starts climbing up a platform, much to his horror.
