  • Shipper on Deck: She, along with the Cupbros and Chalice, quickly takes to shipping Seryu and Sheele and attempts to hook them up.

The Snatcher

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ahitsnatcher.jpg
  • Batman Gambit: Twice against Dimentio:
    • First, he uses Dimentio's ego against him by tricking him into signing a contract that De Powers him.
    • Second, he fakes a Face–Heel Turn, knowing that Dimentio wouldn't be able to resist coming out to taunt the heroes over his "betrayal", allowing Snatcher to trap him in a fight with Namine and Doom Slayer.
  • Deal with the Devil: What his contracts allow him to do. That being said, he can use them for good or to give others powers.
  • Terror Hero: He's still pretty creepy, but he's on the side of good.

Mustache Girl

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mugirl_300p.png
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: How she spends most of RWBY and the Seven Sirens.
  • Cartesian Karma: Averted. She is not punished for helping the villains during the events of Seven Sirens due to being brainwashed.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Happened off-screen, but Mustache Girl did wind up regretting her actions and took some time to reflect before rejoining Hat Kid.
  • Taking the Bullet: Tanks a rocket to the face in place of Hat Kid.

     The Empress

The Empress

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nyakuza_leader.jpg
  • The Dreaded: Hat Kid is terrified of her and for good reason, as, unlike someone like Snatcher, she has no redeeming qualities.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: She takes the first chance she can bail on her assistant mayor duties with Risky Boots.

Ace Attorney

     Phoenix Wright

Phoenix Wright

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/phoenixaa6smaller.png
  • Big Entrance: He makes quite an entrance when he comes in to stop the sham trial on Delfino.
  • Spanner in the Works: As revealed in "Super RWBY 3D World", Team Dark RWBY was intending to kill their counterparts and Mario after they were arrested and thrown in prison. Phoenix showing up and stopping the trial, thus preventing them from getting arrested, prevented the evil counterparts from committing the murder.

     Maya Fey

Maya Fey

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maya_fey_aa6.png
  • Oh, Crap!: This is her reaction to Summer unexpectedly showing up in her living room in Summer's flashback in Galaxy. This leads to Maya swinging a folding chair at Summer and hitting her on the head.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: At the end of Isle of Armor, Maya claims she accidentally hit Summer with a folding chair when the latter showed up in her living room. Summer's flashback in Galaxy shows it was due to Maya having an Oh, Crap! moment on seeing a ghost in her room.

Akame ga Kill!

  • As a Whole:
    • Adaptational Deviation: Unlike most other franchises in this series, they weren't brought in by a portal and live in Remnant; complete with Semblances and altered backstories. Leone is the sister of Sun Wukong and is a Faunus. Esdeath is James Ironwood's adoptive daughter.
    • The Squad: Kurome, Lubbock, Bulat, Sheele, Najenda, Wave, Bols, and later Leone is part of a squad called the Winter Ops, serving under General Esdeath. Numa Seika was also a member until he was murdered by Aria three years before the start of the series.
    • Reasonable Authority Figure: Chouri, Spear, and Run do their best to make sure that the students at Hathaway are on their best behavior and help peacefully settle issues while also deciding the appropriate punishment towards their students depending on the seriousness of the misconduct they commit. Not to mention that they also ensure safety and protection among their students as well, having a low tolerance for bullying and Faunus racism.

Team ATMC (Atomic)

     Akame

Akame Nightraid (formerly Mikazuchi) / Demon Assassin Akame

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akame_3.jpg
  • Adaptation Personality Change: In her home series, Akame is normally described as calm, serious, and cold-blooded. However, this series' version of her is noticeably less cold-blooded and somewhat more social, expressive, laid-back, and talkative while still retaining her serious and vigorous nature in combat.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Is the younger sister in this timeline instead of Kurome.
  • Big Eater: Just like her canon counterpart, Akame has a huge appetite and an obsession with meat. This was demonstrated when she ate an entire army of Tenderlings in just one sitting in Chapter 7 of Bowser's Inside Story.
  • Crossover Relatives: She and her sister are the descendants of Kagura Mikazuchi in this series.
    • As such, this also makes her and Kurome related to Yor as her nieces by extension.
  • Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Her vocal range sounds rather pitchy and off-key whenever she sings karaoke with the rest of her teammates.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: Murasame, her primary weapon of choice just like in canon. However, this version of Murasame doesn't kill its foes with poison in just one cut.
  • Monochromatic Eyes: As a side effect of her darkness powers. Her right eye is mainly crimson and yellow while the other eye is her normal red color.
  • Obsessed with Food: Meat. Has a small rivalry with Iris.
  • Poisoned Weapons: She can use her Poison Dust to poison her weapon and temporarily poison her opponents.
  • Power Tattoo: With her Semblance, markings appear all over her body and she gains a boost of power.
  • Power-Up: Thanks to both Ganondorf and Cia, Akame obtains the power of darkness. By offering her blood, she obtained the transformation; Demon Assassin Akame. With her true potential unlocked, she can use crimson darkness attacks while in this form. She can cut through lasers with the sword. She can unleash crimson orbs and flames to block shockwave attacks. She can also teleport and create a dark matter orb to destroy foes. As a side, effect, her markings are permanently out, her hands stained in crimson, her right eye changes color, and red highlights in her hair.
  • Shared Family Quirks: Other than having a big appetite, Akame is also an equally skilled Supreme Chef just like Kurome.
  • Shed the Family Name: As revealed in the 163rd chapter of Gaiden, she and Kurome changed their original last names from Mikazuchi to Nightraid to avoid any unwanted attention and suspicion, particularly to go into hiding as far away as they could from Tyrian Callows, who was ordered by Salem in the past to kill off the entire Mikazuchi clan and burn down their home in Mistral to the ground.
    • She also kept her old family name and former heritage as an assassin a secret from her fellow teammates in Team ATMC.
  • Status Buff: Akame's Semblance, the Power Semblance, allows her body to receive a Power Boost in battle.
  • Team Pet: Mitsuki (Seviper), Somei (Zangoose).

     Tatsumi

Tatsumi Dragneel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tatsumi.jpg
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: His Incursio powers comes from Tyrant, who in this version is a dangerous and rogue Celestial Spirit instead of a Danger Beast which was made into an Imperial Arms.
  • Crossover Relatives: He is the descendant of Natsu Dragneel and Lucy Heartfilia in this series.
  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: The Incursio Star Armor has a dangerous side effect. The soul of Tyrant still resides in armor and will drive anyone who wields it to insanity. Eventually, both mind and soul will be erased before Tyrant fully takes over. Because of this, both Laxus and Virgo warned Tatsumi not to use the armor at all. Despite this risk, Tatsumi promised to learn how to deal with the issue.
  • Lethal Chef: He once mentioned that his cooking was so bad that it could give Mythra's terrible cooking a run for its money. Funnily enough, this contrasts his canon self as he was a decent cook at best during his time with Night Raid.
  • Monochromatic Eyes: His right eye is more draconic due to being fused to Tyrant for good.
  • Official Couple: After confessing his feelings in Skyward Sword, he and Mine became a couple.
  • Only Sane Man: He lampshades this when Akame and Mine Ship Tease Chelsea and Cardin as a couple but don't join in their fun.
Cardin & Chelsea: WE'RE IN A PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP!
    Akame & Mine: LIARS!
Tatsumi: (sweatdrops) ... Why do I feel like I'm the normal person in this team?
  • Power-Up: He gains a Barroth armor set (decked out in Incursio's color scheme and cape no less!) and a Barroth Shredder great sword from Palutena.
    • He would later obtain Lucy's twelve golden Celestial Keys, which grant him the ability to summon the Celestial Spirits, along with two additional Celestial Keys that were most likely given to his ancestor sometime in the past.
    • In addition, he would also get the "Star Tuxedo" versions of Star Dresses along with the Incursio Star Armor from Virgo.
    • He has unlocked the full power of Incursio, allowing him to transform into Tyrant and his armor resemble the Second Evolution Incursio.
  • Stone Wall: With his Semblance, called Defense, he can become a tank. Though it makes him slower.
  • Team Pet: He would obtain a Klefki, later named Kailene, that showed up after Beacon's Rampage event. Kailene would also later be in charge of being the guardian and keeper of Tatsumi's Celestial Keys.

Celestial Armor Incursio / Tyrant

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/incursio_activated.jpg
Click here to see the armor's Celestial Spirit form.
  • Adaptational Badass: Compared to his canon self, Tyrant is much more powerful and smarter. He was able to defeat Loke and nearly kill the Celestial King at one point.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: He has shown to be both more intelligent and capable of human speech.
  • Deal with the Devil: Tatsumi agrees to let Tyrant take full control of his body when he feels like it in exchange for his full power.
  • Demonic Possession: He can possess anyone who wears his armor. First, he drives the user insane, before trying to have both their mind and soul erased.
  • The Dreaded: Due to his soul being in the armor, he is feared by Tatsumi and the others for how dangerous he is.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: His soul was sealed away in a Star Armor to stop his rampage.
  • Shout-Out: The cell he is trapped in, shares similarities to Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Beast from the Naruto series.

     Mine

Mine Strauss

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mine_1.jpg
Click here to see her street musician outfit.
Artwork courtesy of darkrebellion04 on DeviantArt.
  • A-Cup Angst: She hates it when someone mentions or pokes fun at her general lack of curves, especially Chelsea.
  • Acquired Poison Immunity: Thanks to her training with Mirajane, Mine is now immune to poison.
  • Adaptational Wealth: In this series, Mine is a girl born from a noble and rich family from Mistral who moved to Vacuo instead of a poor orphan girl in her canon home series.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Pumpkin, her sniper rifle.
  • Cool Big Sis: She seemed to have made a good first impression towards Kotoko as the former Li'l Ultimate Drama's new foster older sister during the first time they met in Chapter 185 of Gaiden.
  • Crossover Relatives: She is the descendant of Mirajane Strauss in this series.
  • Girls with Guns: She's got a sniper rifle and she's not afraid to use it.
  • Lethal Chef: She once stated that she tends to burn the food whenever she cooks.
  • Official Couple: After confessing her feelings in Skyward Sword, she and Tatsumi became a couple.
  • Sibling Team: Despite not being blood-related, Mine and Kotoko are sisters who work together as the tech producers of both Sea5ons and Epiphany, with the former acting as the head of the position.
  • Sixth Ranger: Downplayed. At times, she (together with Weiss from Team RWBY) may often collaborate with or perform alongside Sea5ons during their street performances in Toad Town either as an extra member for certain songs or as a substitute member whenever one of the members of the dance crew is absent.
    • She also acts as the videographer/technical producer for Sea5ons, where she's in charge of filming their street performances, editing the videos, and then uploading them online on their official Lakitube channel once she's finished.
  • Super-Empowering: With her Enhancement Semblance, she can make anyone's weapons stronger. In Chapter 10 of Skyward Sword, she unlocked the ability to use Satan Soul to power herself up even further. It was later renamed into "Demon Soul" due to Mine being uncomfortable with its current name.
  • Team Pet: Cayden (Slowpoke → Slowbro ↔ Mega Slowbro), Gorebyss (Koral).
    • During RWBY: Wings of Ruin, Mine also obtained a couple of Monsties. They consist of Slash (Velocidrome) and Rancor (Pukei-Pukei).
  • Token Rich Student: While the rest of her friends/teammates are at least moderately well-off financially, she's the only member of Team ATMC and one of the known Huntresses-in-training other than Weiss who's extremely wealthy.

     Chelsea

Chelsea Neves

Fall

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chelsea_5.jpg
  • Abusive Parents: Her biological parents were neglectful deadbeats and alcoholic assholes who barely gave a damn about her throughout the majority of her childhood. Unsurprisingly, this caused her to disown them as her parents and run away from home at the age of twelve.
  • Adaptational Nice Girl: Chelsea was already a nice person, to begin with. But unlike her canon self, she doesn't show any sign of coldness and bluntness as these negative characteristics were either removed or heavily downplayed in the Super RWBY Sisters universe.
  • Age Lift: Inverted. Her age in this universe is around 17 to 18 years old just like the rest of her teammates, as opposed to her canon counterpart where she's in her early 20s.
  • Beautiful Singing Voice: Her vocal range was described to be impressive according to Tatsumi and Mine. It was also stated that she often practices singing whenever she's alone.
  • Commonality Connection: With Kokoro. This was even lampshaded in Chapter 170 of Super RWBY Gaiden where Yor notes that she and Kokoro both had experienced tragic childhoods due to having abusive and neglectful birth parents in Vacuo, which then caused them to run away from home at the age of 12 to 13. Heck, Kokoro also adds the fact that this could be one of the reasons why Chelsea felt attached to her and why both girls shared a deep sisterly bond ever since the first day they met.
  • Cool Big Sis: She's like this to Kokoro, often comforting her whenever she's distressed, protecting her in times of danger, and giving her good advice. Despite not being blood-related and coming from different races, it's clear that the two girls unconditionally view each other as best friends and surrogate (later adoptive) sisters.
  • Crossover Relatives: She is the descendant of Erik (a.k.a. Cobra) and Kinana in this series.
  • The Gadfly: She loves to tease her friends and adoptive little sister just for a quick laugh.
  • Given Name Reveal: Her surname in this universe was revealed to be "Neves"note  as of the 75th chapter in Gaiden. This is later explored further in Chapter 164 of Gaiden where she got this surname after being adopted by Yor, which was the latter's maiden name.
  • Happily Adopted: As revealed in the 164th chapter of Gaiden, she was adopted by Yor after the latter found her alone living on the streets of a town at Vacuo and discovered that the girl ran away from her alcoholic deadbeat parents about three weeks ago in-universe.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: Downplayed. While the age gap isn't that big, Chelsea shares a close sister-like bond with Kokoro, a young ocelot Faunus in her early teens, due to their shared interests in music and singing as of the 73rd chapter of Gaiden.
  • Master of Illusion: With her Illusionary Trap Semblance, she can make a clone of herself and have it explode with any Dust she desires.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Bordering with Big Sister Instinct, Chelsea briefly dropped her cheerful and lively attitude as she went ahead to rescue Kokoro in Haunty Halls Galaxy without a question alongside Cardin, Blake, and Ibuki when she heard that her surrogate little sister was in grave danger from the galaxy's Daredevil Comet.
    • She became less cheerful and sad for a while during ATMC: Skyward Sword thanks to a traumatic experience with fatal illusions of her abusive birth parents. Cardin noticed it during the following chapter.
  • Oral Fixation: She's always got a lollipop in her mouth.
  • Power-Up: At the end of Skyward, she receives a gift from her mom, and sister, Maki. The Gift was the Remnant version of the Gaea Foundation. This case allows her to store both dust and weapons. She can infuse her tools with enhancements, allowing her to do various things such as power up weapons or makeup. She can install her needle into the tool and said tools are durable.
  • Relationship Upgrade: After several chapters worth of claiming that they're in a platonic relationship, she and Cardin have finally accepted their romantic feelings for each other as they became an Official Couple together by the 166th chapter of Gaiden.
  • Ship Tease: With Cardin. Although... they often go into an Implausible Deniability by stating that they're in a platonic relationship and nothing more.
Cardin & Chelsea: WE'RE IN A PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP!
    Akame & Mine: LIARS!
  • Team Pet: Bebop (Spoink), Sprout (Cacnea), Mmboro (Weedle → Kakuna).
  • The Pin Is Mightier Than the Sword: Despite her main weapon being just needles, she can use them in very effective ways as weapons.

The Winter Ops

     Esdeath

General Esdeath Ironwood

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/esdeath_1.jpg
  • Adaptational Heroism: Is on the side of the heroes in this universe. She's with the Atlas military, which while not perfect is a very moral improvement from the cruel Empire of her home series, and she keeps Ironwood from jumping off the deep end at least twice. She also helps the heroes kill a mutant Behemoth, goes to defend people from an invasion, ensures Whitley's safety gives him to his mother, and helps Emerald finalize her Heel–Face Turn.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Breaks out of Eggman's prison thanks to Sephiroth when he captured her and ensures he doesn't kill the Rose-Xiao Long family and other prisoners.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: She gets brainwashed by Fecto into killing the cast in Forgotten Land. Luckily, she was later freed from Fecto's control thanks to Chiaki and Scout.
  • Cool Big Sis: She is seen by the orphans of Atlas due to her kindness and knack for entertaining them. She's also like this toward Laura Winchester, despite the former being the latter's adoptive older cousin.
  • Crossover Relatives: She is the descendant of Gray Fullbuster and Juvia Lockser in this series.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Was once a sweet girl who did her best to live in her village, and while things were a bit rough, she more or less enjoyed herself and loved her parents. Then the Grimm came and more or less destroyed everyone she cared for. She got better, but it took time.
  • Empty Eyes: She has these when Ironwood and her team find her at her village.
  • Evil Duo: Seemingly is this with Dark Weiss when both went to the Mushroom Kingdom with less than good intentions. Later subverted as she never even cared for her.
  • Friend to All Children: Esdeath has a soft spot for children due to being an orphan herself and regularly goes to visit the Atlas orphanage. Understandably, she is violently enraged when she discovered a hidden lab filled with orphan Faunus children.
  • Happily Adopted: She's Ironwood's adopted daughter and highly respects and looks up to him.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: In IF Chapter 8, this is her response to Sahlia/Blake's abilities, starting with draining Qrow's flask and going to a bar where she first drains Qrow's flask again and then orders a double from the bartender. She's still drunk during the raid on the Crimson Fang base. Winter, who has to carry Esdeath, comments she thought Esdeath had a strong tolerance for alcohol, prompting Esdeath to state that she kind of went overboard.
  • Kill It with Ice: Can do this thanks to her powerful Semblance Ice Manipulation. She can make weapons out of it, freeze people, and shatter them. She does this a lot during Chapter 2 of IF due to being raised by Salem.
  • Mercy Kill: Does this to the mutant Shroob Behemoth, stating it was mercy and considering what happened to it, it made sense.
  • Morality Pet: She serves this to Ironwood and ensures he doesn't make the same mistakes as his canon counterpart.
  • Official Couple: She and Sephiroth started dating in chapter 233 of Super RWBY Gaiden.
  • Power-Up: Durning Forgotten Land, she gains four copy essences: Fire, Plasma, Water, and Poison.
  • The Mutiny: Averted. When Weiss claims Esdeath wants to overthrow Ironwood and take command, Esdeath says she respects him and wouldn't do that. This is later explored in a Gaiden chapter where she explains to Winter that she would never do such a thing to the man who saved her life and is her adopted father.
  • Near-Death Experience: She nearly died after an ambush of her former subordinate Seryu, though she was fortunately found by some nearby residents and rushed to the hospital in time.
  • Not So Stoic: Admits liking her adoptive father, James, who isn't so stoic, and often gets flustered. In her words, she finds it adorable.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Meatball subs.
  • Tranquil Fury: Despite her being terrified of some Grimm, she did not hesitate to cut them down the moment Sheele got beaten up by a Megoliath. She then proceeds to effortlessly destroy the Grimm in her way, eerily making her way to Damian.
  • Trauma Button: She has a deep fear of the Sabyr, Megoliaths, and Teryx Grimms due to these species being responsible for the destruction of her village and parents. She even admitted she cannot bear to face them again.
  • Traumatic Superpower Awakening: Unlocked her powerful Semblance at a young age, but only when she was nearly killed by the Grimm in her home and was incapable of controlling her powers for a while.
  • Uncanny Valley Girl: Despite seeming normal, many like Luigi feel like she's off and unsure of her stance.
  • Unstoppable Rage: After learning about the experiments that the Marigolds and Honest were funding, Esdeath is mentioned to be "on the warpath".

     Leone

Leone Wukong

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leone_02_6.png
  • Adaptation Species Change: She's a Lion Faunus in this series, while she was human in her home series.
  • Crossover Relatives: Here, she's the older sister of Sun Wukong. Together with her brother, she is also a descendant of Sting Eucliffe.
  • Fiery Lion: She's a Lion Faunus, and she loves to punch.
  • Mighty Roar: Her Semblance is called Lion's Roar, which can scare away Grimm effortlessly. It's a 50/50 shot on humans, Faunus, and other creatures though.

     Kurome

Kurome Nightraid (formerly Mikazuchi)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kurome.jpg
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Unlike in the anime where Kurome is the youngest sister to Akame, in this canon, the roles have been reversed to where Kurome's the oldest.
  • Ancestral Weapon: She currently owns Kagura's sword, Archenemy, which contains the ability to use her ancestor's Gravity Semblance. However, she has hidden it away in a box for safe-keeping.
  • Crossover Relatives: She and her sister are the descendants of Kagura Mikazuchi in this series.
    • As such, this also makes her and Kurome related to Yor as her nieces by extension.
  • Shared Family Quirks: Other than having a big appetite, Kurome is also an equally skilled Supreme Chef just like Akame.
  • Shed the Family Name: As revealed in the 163rd chapter of Gaiden, she and Akame changed their original last names from Mikazuchi to Nightraid to avoid any unwanted attention and suspicion, particularly to go into hiding as far away as they could from Tyrian Callows, who was ordered by Salem in the past to kill off the entire Mikazuchi clan and burn their home in Mistral to the ground.
    • She also kept her old family name and former heritage as an assassin a secret from her fellow teammates in the Winter Ops.

     Lubbock

Lubbock

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lubbock_02_5.jpg
  • Badass Longcoat: Like his canon self, he dons a long green coat with a fur-rimmed hood.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Has green hair and matching green eyes.
  • Master of Threads: His Semblance allows him to summon garrote wires which he can use to shape and manipulate in many different ways for both offensive and defensive purposes.
  • Razor Floss: His garrote wires from his Semblance allow him to cut through anything with ease. Also useful for cutting meat for an always-hungry Akame.

     Bulat

Bulat

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akame-ga-kill-2nd-pv-seventhstyle-007_182.jpg
  • Delinquent Hair: His hair is styled in the shape of a pompadour. A heart-shaped pompadour.
  • Invisibility: His Semblance can make him go invisible.
  • Manly Gay: He's not too subtle about his interest in men.

     Sheele

Sheele Marvell

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akame-ga-kill-2nd-pv-seventhstyle-005_123.jpg
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In canon, she and Seryu were mortal enemies to the point where the latter murdered the former in battle during a fateful encounter. Here, however, the two of them are loyal Childhood Friends who greatly care for each other even after Seryu was wrongfully sent to a mental asylum by Jacques.
  • Ascended Extra: Out of the Winter Ops, her role has expanded throughout the series, particularly her bond with Seryu.
  • Blinded by the Light: Her Semblance, Extase, is pretty much this.
  • Childhood Friends: With Seryu. Kyoko also figured Sheele was in love with her.
  • Crossover Relatives: She is the descendant of Wendy Marvell in this series.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Turns out, her Semblance can be used against her. She now wears glasses because of one such incident that left her incapacitated for a few days.
  • Official Couple: She and Seryu become one of RWBY and the Seven Sirens.
  • Power-Up: Seryu created an upgraded version of Extase called Extase Omega. It comes now with an electric railgun configuration. Whenever Sheele says Extase, she can now shoot bolts of electricity to blind and paralyze enemies she hits with.
  • Shear Menace: Her primary weapon of choice.
  • Team Pet: During RWBY: Wings of Ruin, Sheele obtained a Yian Garuga. She later gave it the name Vulture.

     Najenda

  • Summon Magic: Her Semblance can summon Susanoo himself.

     Wave

Wave

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wave_4.jpg
  • Best Friend: According to Kurome, he is like this to her and is the only person in the Winter Ops (for now) whom she felt comfortable sharing and keeping her secrets with.
  • Making a Splash: His Water Manipulation Semblance is this. His Semblance later develops the ability to apply enough water pressure to crush anything to pieces.
  • Secret-Keeper: After Kurome opened up to him about her past as a former assassin and a member of the Mikazuchi clan, he vowed to her to keep her secrets with him to the grave and agreed to never tell anyone in the Winter Ops about this so that Kurome and her other surviving family members would continue to stay hidden and safe from any form of unwanted attention and suspicion, particularly from a psycho named Tyrian Callows.

     Bols

Bols Lang

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chara_20_5.png
  • Face of a Thug: He may appear as a strong and intimidating man at first glance due to his scary mask and massive build, but he's a Nice Guy who acts kind-hearted and caring towards his comrades in the Winters Ops and is a loving Family Man with a wife and daughter whenever he's not on active duty.
  • Happily Married: He and Kije have been together for seven years in a loving and loyal marriage.
  • Named by the Adaptation: His surname in this series is "Lang".
  • Playing with Fire: He has a flamethrower and he's not afraid to use it. His Semblance is also Fire Manipulation.

     Seryu Ubiquitous

Seryu Ubiquitous

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chara_19_2.png
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In canon, she and Sheele were mortal enemies to the point where the former murdered the latter in battle during a fateful encounter. Here, however, the two of them are loyal Childhood Friends who greatly care for each other even after she was wrongfully sent to a mental asylum by Jacques.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Seryu in this story is a dog Faunus instead of a human just like her canon counterpart.
  • An Arm and a Leg: She gets her arm completely ripped off by an enraged Azure. Her other arm gets accidentally cut off by Sheele.
  • Arch-Enemy: She serves as one to Weiss and the rest of the Schnee family, blaming them for the suffering she had to endure. She made it clear she would kill every last one of them.
  • Artificial Limbs: She gets a new metal arm to replace her lost arm after it was ripped off. Later, Esdeath made her an ice arm temporarily for her other lost arm before Ironwood had it replaced with a metal arm.
  • Ax-Crazy: Completely psychotic like her anime counterpart, possibly even crazier. She later becomes less crazy due to having those injuries properly fixed.
  • Catchphrase: She loves to use the word "justice" a lot.
  • Childhood Friends: With Sheele.
  • Driven to Madness: Jacques' torture and head injury turned her into a psycho who kills with no remorse.
  • Driven to Suicide: Seryu revealed to Umber she has tried many attempts to kill herself to get rid of the voices in her head. It has gotten to the point where she begs her best friend Sheele to end her existence. Luckily, she has gotten better.
  • Escape from the Crazy Place: She breaks out of the mental asylum she was in thanks to Dark Weiss.
  • Fallen Hero: She once was a noble hero who did want to fight for justice. However, one head injury and a series of cruel torture from Jacques Schnee later, she's gone completely off the deep end.
  • Fantastic Racism: She's hellbent on killing humans because all humans are bad, according to her.
    • Even more so when she outright says that "All Schnees smell the same". Turns out the reason for that was due to Jacques' constant torture of her, which caused her to have this belief for a long time.
  • Freudian Excuse: Ultimately her actions were driven by the discrimination she suffered at the hands of Atlas's racism, especially by Jacques Schnee. This makes her understand why she does it, as she pointed out she levies violence as the only way for peace for the Faunus. On the other hand...
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: ... despite her reasonings being understandable, Yang called her out on her actions, pointing out her actions encourage the very fear and discrimination Faunus has to constantly deal with. Plus the fact that killing others does not give her a happy ending.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Ever since A Ubiquitous End, in which she's been given proper treatment for her brain injury and sentenced to a year of therapy, Seryu's been on much friendlier terms with the heroes.
  • I've Come Too Far: When she heads to Mushroom City to murder Jacques, she knows that if she does it, there is no coming back for her, but she decides that since she's already killed enough people, what's one more?
  • Kick the Dog: She does this to Esdeath after ambushing her and leaves her critically injured.
  • Must Make Amends: Seryu seeks to do this as a way of repenting for her past actions.
  • Number Two: At some point before RWBY: The Crown Tundra, she becomes Adam's second-in-command of the Crimson Fang. She stopped being the second-in-command and defected from the group after she was put on probation and given head surgery to fix her broken skull.
  • Official Couple: She and Sheele become one as of RWBY and the Seven Sirens.
  • Power-Up: Seryu gained the ability to use magic thanks to the Crimson Fang’s alliance with Dimentio.
    • She would obtain an Izuchi S armor set and the Gale Crossbow Heavy Bowgun from Palutena.
  • Sanity Slippage: She was pretty sane, but a head trauma and torture did a number on her mind and left her completely insane. Her sanity has since returned to normal.
  • Sleep Deprivation: Due to constant voices in her head, Seryu rarely got any sleep at all.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: With her Semblance, she can create any weapon she wants.
  • Team Pet: She obtains a tan Palamute whom she nicknames Koro, after the teddy bear she once had as a kid. Kuro would later obtain her the Izuchi S armor set with a Sickle S weapon.
  • The Nose Knows: She can accurately pinpoint where a scent leads as seen in RWBY: The Crown Tundra.
  • Tragic Villain: She was once a noble and kindhearted person, but an injury to her head led to her going on a rampage and she even managed to stop, but Jacques had her locked up before she could be treated, driving her insane. It's also revealed that she does want treatment, but thinks she's gone too far.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Even if it was under Adam's orders, she was still willing to go through with murdering Kokoro, a young and innocent Faunus in her early teens, on the spot just for siding with the humans as of Chapter 75 in Gaiden. Unfortunately for her, this doesn't push through.

Villains

     Aria

Aria

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/e19f486188f5a5dd859f68c0bff5b996.jpg
  • Adaptational Badass: Unlike her canon counterpart, this version of Aria has a Semblance and is seemingly capable of attacking villages on her own.
  • And I Must Scream: Being under her direct control, Aria's reanimated pawns cannot disobey her no matter how hard they try as much as they're completely aware of what they're doing while under the strong influence of her Semblance.
  • Animate Dead: Her Semblance, Reanimation, counts as this. She can recall souls from the afterlife and resurrect them into her reanimated pawns/puppets.
  • Ascended Extra: Originally more of a minor character and one-shot villain in her home series. Here, she's a much more prominent character, becoming one of the most dangerous major antagonists.
  • Grave Robbing: She isn't above desecrating from countless graveyards and stealing pieces of organic tissue from the deceased.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Upon first glance, she seems like a cute and innocent-looking girl. In reality, she's a cruel and sadistic serial killer and necromancer who murdered countless innocent Faunus and devotes herself to grave-robbing as a hobby.
  • Fantastic Racism: She greatly despises Faunus with a passion as she was orphaned at six when she witnessed a duo of Faunus security guards executing both of her parents just as soon as the three of them were caught grave-robbing at a cemetery. What's more? She often insults said species by calling them "skin walkers".
  • Psychopathic Womanchild: Even as a teenager, she still acts very childish and also happens to be an extremely unhinged and racist yandere.
  • Shovel Strike: Aside from her tome, she also has a shovel for a weapon, which she primarily uses for her grave-robbing escapades and melee combat.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With Donovan. Since her debut in Chapter 86 of Gaiden, she was partnered up with a hyena Faunus whom she dislikes for his heritage as much as the two couldn't stand each other. However, the Human-Faunus duo can be quite a deadly and sadistic pair together in combat whenever they aren't bickering.
  • Yandere: The 88th chapter of Super RWBY Gaiden shows that she loves Whitley after all these years, though is unhealthily obsessed with him.

     Honest

Honest

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/honest.jpg
  • Beard of Evil: He has a white beard and he's pretty much an evil man who likes tormenting Faunus.
  • Fantastic Racism: This fat bastard loves to torment and overwork the Faunus at the SDC mine and labor village he manages for his sadistic pleasure and amusement.
  • Ironic Name: For a man named "Honest", he's most certainly not the most honest person you'd want to meet. He even admits the sheer irony of his name during his debut in the 145th chapter of Gaiden.
Oliver Moss: (sneers at Honest) You know… for a man named Honest, you're not the most honest person on the planet.
  • The Mafia: He's the leader of a secret mafia gang that made an appearance in Vale a few years ago in-universe sometime after he, Syura, and Zanku left behind the SDC labor village they formerly managed to be left at the mercy of the Devastator Grimm.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Had dozens of Faunus children kidnapped and experimented on.

     Syura

Syura

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/syura.jpg
  • The Dragon: He appears to be Honest's right-hand man.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Has no problem using physical force to knock a child unconscious when stealing a bunch of Dust crates or being complicit in his father's inhumane experimentations on various kidnapped Faunus children.

     Zanku

Zanku

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zanku.jpg
  • The Dragon: He is Honest's other right-hand man after Syura.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Has no problem harming children or being complicit in his Honest's inhumane experimentations on various kidnapped Faunus children.

Hathaway School of Performing Arts

     Chouri

Headmaster Chouri

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chouri.jpg
  • Beware the Nice Ones: He may generally be a reasonable and kindhearted man, but he absolutely does NOT tolerate any form of bullying or Faunus racism in his school.
  • Cool Old Guy: He's pretty much a good-natured and supportive elderly man who acts as a Reasonable Authority Figure towards the students and faculty at Hathaway.

     Run

Run

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/run_6.jpg
  • Cool Teacher: He's pretty much seen as this by his students at Team LAFF's homeroom class in the Hathaway School of Performing Arts.
    • He proves himself as this once more in the 183rd chapter of Gaiden when he refuses to let Laura give up on herself and tries to help her realize her purpose in life by giving her a "My Greatest Expectations" essay assignment after immediately seeing through her recent Obfuscating Stupidity attempt to quit school by failing all of her standardized tests via getting zeroes on all of them on purpose.

     Spear

Coach Spear

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spear_3.jpg
  • Cool Teacher: She loves to make her P.E. classes with her students as fun and engaging as possible.

     Sayo & Ieyasu
Tropes applying to both:
  • Adaptational Wealth: Downplayed. While they are by no means rich unlike in canon, Sayo and Ieyasu here are somewhat well-off financially to at least afford their tuition in Hathaway and rent a single two-person room they share in a dorm building near their school in Vale.
  • Badass Normal: They may be a couple of Vacuans currently living and studying in Vale at the Hathaway School of Performing Arts as normal high school students, but they're not afraid to kick some serious ass when the situation calls for it.
  • Hostage Situation: Sayo and Ieyasu get captured by Space Pirates during the invasion of Radiant Garden. They were later rescued by the heroes.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Compared to their canon selves, Sayo and Ieyasu live given how they have not met Aria at all.
  • Two Girls and a Guy: Shares this dynamic with Blanche where Sayo and Blanche are the "two girls" to Ieyasu's "one guy" within their friend group.

Sayo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/367px-sayo_anime_2542.png
  • Heroes Love Dogs: She has a big soft spot for dogs. Not to mention that she's also a regular at Inuko Café, a popular dog café in Vale.
  • Instant Knots: Sayo's Semblance grants her the ability to produce sturdy ribbon-like Aura strips from her hands, which are almost quite strong and thick to break out of. As such, while the amount of ribbons she's able to generate isn't unlimited, it's still plentiful enough for her to freely manipulate them by using the ribbons for various versatile purposes such as ensnaring and restraining people, creating traps, swinging over long distances, grabbing onto objects and throwing them as projectiles. Once a strand of Aura Ribbon is released, Sayo has the choice to either cut it off with her hands to allow new strands to be fired or leave it intact for her to continue moving around whatever she caught. However, she has to be careful with how many ribbons she can eject as overusing her Semblance will drain her Aura.
  • Power-Up: She gains a moonstone bangle bracelet similar to Helios' Recurve from Tatsumi (who politely rejected it when it was initially given to him by Palutena) called Selene's Bane, which was created by none other than the titular moon goddess herself. On the outside, looks pretty much like a platinum bangle bracelet embedded with two moonstone gemstones that can be a fashionable accessory. But when activated, the moonstone cores project a bright blue photon-based construct of a bow as it glows a cool azure blue like the mythical blue moon. The photon arrow/wave blast projectiles on the other hand are colored light blue.
  • Team Pet: Lunatone, which was given to her by Kokoro when she returned from a camping trip with the Warriors of Hope in the secret spot in Dimble Woods.

Ieyasu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/367px-ieyasu_anime_5541.png
  • Power-Up: Tatsumi gives him a pair of brass knuckle knives called Týr's Fury.
  • Super-Toughness: His Semblance, Harden, counts as this. As such, he can harden and sharpen any or all parts of his body, causing his flesh to be jagged and rock-like along with him being granted enhanced durability and strength. However, there's a limit on how much physical force his hardened body can endure, which in turn can decrease Ieyasu's stamina from him struggling to keep his Semblance active.

Others

     Bols' Family
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kije_and_logue_01.png
Kije (left) & Logue (right)
Tropes applying to both:
  • Ascended Extra: Both Kije and Logue have started to make a major appearance in the SRS ever since their formal debut in Chapter 150 of Gaiden.
    • Not to mention that Logue somewhat becomes more prominent here in the series as a supporting character as compared to her canon counterpart whereas she only made about a couple of on-screen appearances in the anime together with Kije.
  • The Cameo: Both of them made a few mentioned cameos in the past.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Like Bols, their surname in this series is "Lang".
  • Nice Girl: Despite his intimidating appearance, Kije and Logue are known to be loving and caring towards Bols.

Kije Lang

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kije.jpg
  • Happily Married: She and Bols have been together for around seven years in a loving and loyal marriage.
  • Secret-Keeper: When she found out that Logue got into a fight with some bullies after she came home from school and saw the bruise on her arm, she decided to keep it a secret from Bols by using her daughter's cover story that her arm was hurt from a dodgeball game during recess.

Logue Lang

Click here to see her new outfit.
Artwork courtesy of darkrebellion04 on DeviantArt.
  • Age Lift: Downplayed. Unlike her canon counterpart where she's six years old, her age in this universe is seven.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Despite her overall Nice Girl demeanor, she can get seriously pissed off whenever she sees someone being bullied for no good reason.
  • Good Parents: Bols and Kije have done a great job in raising her well into the sweet-natured little girl we know today.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She has golden blonde hair, which reflects her sweet and kind nature.
  • Identical Stranger: Shadow and Chiaki notice that she almost bears a close resemblance to Maria Robotnik because of her golden blonde hair and Innocent Blue Eyes. In short, Logue is somewhat viewed as the younger version of Maria.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Her main weapon of choice is a self-defense LED flashlight named "Hestia's Firebrand". Initially, it mostly functioned like a normal flashlight that would help her around dark places and could be used as an improvised bludgeon. Later in Chapter 13 of JINXY and the Forgotten Land, it would get a bunch of upgrades from the blacksmith Waddle Dee in Waddle Dee Town wherein the flashlight now has a strobe light function for annoyances and can act as a flaming torch that shoots out pink-colored fire just by twisting the handle.
  • Interspecies Friendship: Crossing over with Intergenerational Friendship, Logue is a seven-year-old human girl who has formed a close friendship with Shadow, an anthropomorphic hedgehog who's biologically over fifty years old.
  • New Transfer Student: She's an Atlesian first-grader who transferred to the Hathaway School of Performing Arts in Vale a week after Seryu's trial and freedom in-universe.
  • Playing with Fire: Just like her father, her Semblance grants her the ability to generate fire from her body and manipulate it around her. However, Logue's flames are colored pink as compared to Bols' orange-colored fire... and her body gets burnt from the high heat of her flames for some reason whenever she tries to use her Semblance. Luckily with Shadow's help, she would then later obtain a pair of cybernetic gloves with a built-in cooling mechanism, which was developed and given to her by Donatello of the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so that she wouldn't accidentally burn or overheat herself whenever she uses her Semblance.
  • Power-Up: She gets the Custom Splattershot Jr. from Sheldon at Ammo Knights after she and the others arrive at Splatsville in the 2nd chapter of CFVY: Rise of the Mammalians.

     Numa Seika (Unmarked Spoilers!)

Numa Seika

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/numa_seika.jpg
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In his home series, Numa was a minor character mentally broken after being easily defeated by Esdeath and enslaved by her like a dog until she killed him in his first and only appearance. Here, he was a member of the Winter Ops and a close friend of Esdeath until his untimely death at the hands of Aria three years before the events of the story.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Unlike his human counterpart from his canon home series, Numa Seika in this version is a manta ray Faunus.
  • People Puppets: He became an unwilling reanimated pawn for Aria after she murdered him three years before the latter was scouted into Salem's faction. Moreover, the girl highly regarded him as her most powerful "puppet".
  • Posthumous Character: Died three years before the start of the series... until he was reanimated by Aria.
  • Shock and Awe: His Semblance allows him to manipulate lightning and throw electricity around.

Arcane: League of Legends

     Jinx

Powder / Jinx

  • Guest-Star Party Member: She was one of the many heroes that Carmen summoned during RWBY: Winter's Dusk.
  • I Choose to Stay: She decided to remain on Remnant as no one here knows who she is (meaning she can start fresh) as well as the belief that her sister may not love her anymore.

Bayonetta

Cuphead

  • As a Whole:
    • Composite Character: Everyone displays traits from both their game and cartoon incarnations, with the boys confirming that the backstory of how they met the Devil is a mix of both the gamenote  and the cartoonnote .
     Cuphead & Mugman
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cuphead_and_mugman_3.jpg
Cuphead (left) and Mugman (right)
Tropes applying to both:
  • Ascended Extra: Following two cameo appearances, the brothers return as members of the main cast in RWBY and the Seven Sirens.
  • The Bus Came Back: They make their grand return at the start of RWBY and the Seven Sirens.
  • The Cameo: They both made a cameo at the end of RWBY: DK 64 and RWBY: Superstar Saga but have never made an appearance until their return in RWBY and the Seven Sirens.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: They see nothing wrong with them regularly fighting off the Devil.
  • Grounded Forever: Elder Kettle's reaction to them getting into the mess with the Devil in the first place. It didn't last very long.
  • Noodle Incident: What exactly led to them joining the Smash roster has yet to be revealed. All that is known is that they fell into a portal leading to the mansion and did something to impress Master Hand.
  • Shipper on Deck: They, along with Hat Kid and Chalice, quickly take to shipping Seryu and Sheele and attempt to hook them up.

Cuphead

  • Deadpan Snarker: He's quite snarky, especially about things like his brother's love life (or lack thereof).
  • Idiot Hero: Cuphead isn't the brightest bulb in the box, considering that he manages to lose his soul to the Devil twice.

Mugman

  • Has a Type:
    • Considering his ongoing crush on Cala Maria and the fact he develops a crush on Harmony the moment he lays eyes on her, Mugman seems to like girls who are taller than he is.
    • He also has a thing for mermaids with him crushing on both Cala Maria and then later, the Giga Mermaid.

     Ms. Chalice

Ms. Chalice

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chalice_results_screen.png
  • Only Sane Woman: Between Mugman's fits of madness and Cuphead being Cuphead, Chalice is easily the sanest of the trio.
  • Shipper on Deck: She, the Cupbros, and Hat Kid quickly take to shipping Seryu and Sheele and attempt to hook them up.

     The Devil

The Devil

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_devil_0.jpg
  • And Your Little Dog, Too!: Directly says this when taunting Ruby, declaring he'll get Ruby's soul and her little dog's as well.
  • Berserk Button: People being unable to name Twinkle Twinkle Little Star is a surefire way to have him light up in fiery rage and incinerate anything nearby.
  • Big Bad: He is one of the main villains of RWBY and the Seven Sirens.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He received one at the hands of Ruby, followed by Empress Siren throwing him into the ocean.
  • Demonic Possession: Capable of this, which he used to sic some of the Cupbros' past foes on them during Seven Sirens.
  • Didn't Think This Through: One of his plots to get Ruby to sell her soul is to dump her painkillers down the toilet. He doesn't realize until Henchman points out that she can just buy more.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Is genuinely baffled when Summer rejects his offer of coming back to life if she tricks Ruby into giving up her soul, not understanding that to Summer, her daughter's safety and happiness are worth more than anything.
  • Eye Scream: On the receiving end due to Oran using his spear to stab his eyes.
  • Satan: Of course.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After all the horrible things he has done, his fur gets shaved off by Sky, he gets hit by pieces of a pepper-tainted wedding cake while wearing only a towel, and Palutena uses a powerful spell to prevent the Devil was leaving the Underworld for one month, with Hades and Pandora mocking him in the newspaper.
  • The Devil Is a Loser: Every one of his appearances ends with him getting hurt or humiliated somehow (such as being tricked by Seryu into thinking she has rabies).
  • Would Hurt a Child: He has no problems attacking Oran, Hat Kid, or the Cupbros, outright threatening to turn the former into armadillo soup after getting his eyes stabbed out.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: His main goal, with Cups and now Ruby's souls being his main targets. He would later succeed in obtaining Oran and Kala's souls instead.

     King Dice

King Dice

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/king_dice_0.jpg
  • The Dragon: He is the Devil's right-hand man.
  • Would Hurt a Child: While not as overt as his boss, the fact he was willing to brainwash Mustache Girl hints that Dice has no problem with harming a child.

     Henchman

Henchman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/henchmantcs.png
  • Affably Evil: Even though he works for The Devil, and is willing to go along with The Devil's schemes, he still comes across as a friendly little guy, who doesn't seem to be having any bad blood with any of the heroes.
  • Morality Pet: Seems to be one of the few friends the Devil has and someone who the Devil bothers keeping around, with him cheering the Devil up after he ends up being tricked or beaten by some of the heroes.
  • Phrase Catcher: Thank you, Henchman.
