"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"Lately, very few people, but among others:
- Swans—Twice, including their first show post-reformation, ever. Good nights.
- James Blackshaw—Absolutely fucking entrancing. Almost a religious experience.
- Mission Of Burma—Good fun. Seeing them bail on "That's When I Reach for My Revolver" measures before the chorus due to tuning issues only to barrel into "Academy Fight Song" was hilarious.
- Lightning Bolt—What do I even say?
- Danielson—An enjoyable show, the memory of which is marred by the awful migraine I had.
- The Elephant 6 Holiday Surprise Tour—Probably the last chance I'd ever have to see Bill Doss play, sadly. :/ Julian Koster and Scott Spillaine were amazing, as ever; "The White Sky" slayed.
- St Vincent—She told a wonderful story about playing a bondage parlour before a solo rendition of "These Days" and it was just a lovely evening all around.
- Toadies—An unexpectedly fantastic performance from an obscure late grunge outfit with two really meh and loud opening acts. Definitely a highlight of my early high school career.
- Meat Puppets—A good performance once again preceded by lousy openers, alas. (For the record, some of these other concerts had amazing openers.)
- Tether—The most recent performance I attended, by three local noise outfits, the last of which I name because man, did she leave an impression. I bought her tape. :3
- Sonic Youth—One of their last shows on the East Coast, with some really rare performances to boot. Way better than the record they were touring for.
- Pelican / Black Cobra—I mention both because I can't decide whether the latter outclassed the band they were opening for or just matched their intensity.
- They Might Be Giants—A perfectly respectable festival performance but god, was that festival overall not my cup of tea at all.
- Akron/Family—A surprisingly good performance ruined at the time by bad earplugs and my best friend having a psychological episode plus relationship drama with their then-girlfriend. Bluh.
- The SEA Trio—An ambient group we opened for once. Pretty dope.
- My first real concert was a collaboration between Tuvan throat singers and former members of Sun Ra's Arkestra. It was great, but I can't remember the name of either group right now.

I've only seen two concerts.
Johnny Angel and the Halos: they played my hometown's river festival in 1999. My cousins Grandma was a fan of them. We got all of theIr autographs.
Levon Helm and the Barn Burners: he played at a bar in Pittsburgh. My mom was a fan of The Band. It was in 2000 My mom is friends with his manager so we got to go meet and talk with him for a whole hour before they let anyone else back. He gave me the drumsticks he used that night and I got my picture taken with him.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI've seen too many country artists to count, my biggest being Jamboree in the Hills in Ohio in 1994. My first was Collin Raye in winter 1991, and my next will be Chris Stapleton on the 11th.
I've also seen Weird Al twice: July 2015 in Traverse City, and almost a year later in Bay City.
A local community college used to host a lot of concerts and other varied performances. The first one I remember is Trout Fishing in America in 1998, and off the top of my head I know they also had Boots Randolph and Nelson at various points.
Vans Warped Melbourne 2013 (The Offspring, Reel Big Fish, Tonight Alive) NOFX, The Bennies, Switchfoot, Antiskeptic, Frenzal Rhomb, Clowns, Agent 37, Cosmic Kahuna, Sun God Replica, Cosmic Psychos, Batpiss, Good Time Aussie Bogalars, Don Bosco, Pagan, No Anchor

Now I'm off to spread my teachings to more sissy do-gooders!Mostly tribute bands. The only "real" artists i've seen are Billy Joel and Yes.
Just another day in the life of Jimmy NutrinI've seen Donny and Marie Osmond, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and Mumford and Sons. I'm not really a huge concert person TBH, the latter one especially turned me off to them.
I can now add Pentatonix and Us the Duo to my list, with Home Free (in a coupla weeks) and Twenty One Pilots (next March) on the way.
I only saw Guns And Roses live on their latest Not In This Lifetime tour, because Slash and Duff were back in the band. It was my first real concert. I also saw a southern rock band called driving and crying, but only because they were in a theater that just opened close to where I live, and my dad was a big fan. I wanna go see Metallica and Paul Mc Cartney when they come by this summer though. That would be cool.
HiI'm not going to try to list all I've seen, but here's a few blue-linked highlights: Tori Amos, The Beach Boys, Jeff Beck, Captain Beefheart, The Clash, Bo Diddley, Bob Dylan, Deep Purple, Electric Light Orchestra, The Grateful Dead, Journey, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, Primus, Bob Marley, Rush, Santana, Talking Heads, The Who, Neil Young, and Frank Zappa.
Yeah, I'm old. :)
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Gonna see Queen in July.
Just another day in the life of Jimmy NutrinWeird Al, Alice Cooper, Mental As Anything, Old 55.
...All more than once. Oh, and The Sweet, but that one was only once.
The last thing you hear before an unstoppable juggernaut bisects you with a minigun.Ghost,, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Anthrax, and Stevie Nicks (My mom was a fan of her when I was a kid), local musicians: country singer Dallas Marks (this one girl I was friends with is a big fan of him), My cousin's heavy metal band Zilch, and 28 North (They play a pretty cool cover of Amy Winehouse's rehab albeit they're guys and they slow down the tempo.)

So what acts have you seen live? I just got into seeing live music last year, and since then I've seen:
All the shows I've seen have been at events and festivals. I've yet to go to a standalone concert, which I plan to change soon. What about you guys?
