So, Meganekko has been misused for "any girl with glasses" for years now. There has been at least one TRS thread about this issue but it closed without a resolution.Here’s a wick check that me and Orbiting did for Meganekko.
- Characters.Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation: She's the soft-spoken, cute, glasses-wearing maid (later second wife) of the household.
- Anime.Waiting In The Summer: Ichika and Nanami are sweet, glasses-wearing girls.

Naturally, Ana speaks in a slower, formal tone, which coincidentally fits her being the gang's equivalent to The Ojou.

- Western Animation.Grossology: Petunia Archer (Season 2) and Naomi are both shy-natured girls who are treated as quite pretty, glasses and all. Says nothing about them being kind/sweet
- Characters.Mr Bean: She wears glasses and looks attractive. Nothing about her personality is mentioned.
- Characters.Bonkers: Wears big, round glasses and is a major cutie. The character seems to fit the trope judging by the surrounding trope entries but the example doesn’t say anything about her personality
- Characters.Fate VRAINS Allies: Her glasses actually have scanner functions, and by god does she make them work.Googles Do Something Unusual
- Manga.Uzaki Chan Wants To Hang Out: Basically every random female store attendant in the series is one, along with being quite bosomy. Ami's also quite attractive and pretty much always wearing glasses, but her cuteness is more debatable with her rampant relishing in Eating the Eye Candy. Personality is not mentioned
- All Guys Want Cheerleaders: In "You Belong with Me," Taylor Swift just knows that she can't compete with her crush's girlfriend, who is of course cheer captain. Although according the video she can because she's Taylor Swift and looks freaking gorgeous including with the glasses it's idealistic. Personality is not mentioned
- Characters.Zits: She normally wears contacts, but in one strip had to wear her glasses. Jeremy was visibly into it. Personality is not mentioned
- WesternAnimation.Groj Band: Mina is very cute and wears large spectacles. Personality is not mentioned
- WebOriginal.Vividly ASMR: Annabelle in "C-Can I Sit Here...? The Girl on My Train is a Shy Megane! is a shy but sweet glasses wearing girl. Attractiveness isn't mentioned.

The only solution I can come up with to fix the issue would be to turn Meganekko into a Fanspeak page and then spin off Cute Glasses Girl / Sweet Glasses Girl into it’s own trope (similar to what we did with Kuudere and Sugar-and-Ice Personality).

So, I threw some stuff together on Sandbox.Bespectacled Cutie. I guess it's better than nothing. I think there's some things I am missing before I add a related to section to this trope but I am drawing a blank to what those things are.

Maybe add these paragraphs from Meganekko's description:
In Western countries this type of character is rarely popular; when she appears, she is often commanded that The Glasses Gotta Go!, although the Shrinking Violet or cute nerd sometimes invoke this trope.
Glasses on a Hot Librarian or Sexy Secretary are a completely different thing. The Seemingly-Wholesome '50s Girl may use glasses to pretend to be this trope.
I trimmed part of the first line because it seemed chairsy.
Edit: It looks like the third paragraph is missing a pothole to Sexy Spectacles, but perhaps a wick to that could go in a related section instead of in that paragraph.

Double posting because I think I'm going to see if I can use Meganekko's description to make Sandbox.Meganekko for the Fan Speak page. I'll edit this post with a link to it if I figure it out.
Edit: I took Main.Meganekko's description and made the following changes:
- Edited the opening paragraph to reference the term's status as Anime Fanspeak and the Bespectacled Cutie trope
- Added a Definition-Only Page notice with a commented-out link to this thread
- Removed the paragraphs I previously quoted because I suggested moving them to Bespectacled Cutie's description

Ok, I incorporated some of the paragraphs you took from Meganekko into Sandbox.Bespectacled Cutie. I decided to leave out the one about Western audiences because I don't know if it's accurate as there's plenty of western characters nowadays that are popular in part because of their glasses. But eh, what do I know.
I guess the description is good enough now?
EDIT: Oh, wait you edited the sandbox after I did. Nevermind. I think Sandbox.Meganekko looks fine though.

I chainsawed most of the ZCE and bad examples on the sandbox. I would like someone to skim through to see if the ones that were kept have enough context for the trope.
I think the description is decent now so I guess we just have to streamline the examples and then move the sandbox over.

I updated the Anime Fanspeak page to account for the fact that Bespectacled Cutie is now the trope's name and Meganekko is purely a Fan Speak page, similarly to how Dojikko already lists Cute Clumsy Girl as the corresponding trope.

Oh, yeah, and I updated the indexing of the two pages, since some of the indexing that was still listed under the Fan Speak page hadn't been migrated to the trope page, such as the NRLEP indexing (which was left over from when we only had one page for both the Fan Speak and the trope). Those are the only wicks I've changed, though.

Alright, I am going to move on to cleaning this trope because I just got done with Outnumbered Sibling.
Since we aren't removing every wick, I made Meganekko Wick Cleaning to keep track with wicks.
I think Meganekko wicks that aren't examples refer to western characters should be move to Bespectacled Cutie when applicable because the term is Japanese media specific.

that Mega Neko is likely keeping its current name. Whether or not Mega Neko is tropeworthy, that's another discussion, but it's not what this thread is about.

I didn't mean its name couldn't change at all. I meant that one trope's name being changed doesn't automatically mean a similarly named trope's name also has to be changed; we need a wick check for name changes.
Anyway, is there a sandbox for this thread to keep track of which namespaces have been cleaned, since Meganekko will still have some wicks since it's a Fan Speak page and not a redirect?

Consensus was to turn Meganekko into a Fan Speak page and create a new trope for both cute shy/sweet characters with glasses and glasses used to emphasize a character's cuteness and vulnerability. What should the new trope's name be?
The new trope isn't up yet and the page hasn't been converted into a Fanspeak page. Wick cleaning can't start until that happens.
I said I was going to work the description yesterday buut I got sidetracked. I'll definitely throw something together today and I'll work on sorting the examples...well more like deleting the bad ones.
