  • The Beatles have a press conference and appear on television on UTV. An opera on UTV is interrupted by Paul McCartney's grandfather, John McCartney. George Harrison is accidentally interviewed for a fashion trend show, but is rejected.   • The original Warner Bros. animation studio, "Termite Terrace," is permanently shut down, with the entire staff and nearly all of the Looney Tunes stars laid off. The Warner siblings, temporarily released from their tower, are licensed out to other studios over the next several years, while Daffy and Speedy (and the Road Runner and Coyote) are kept on for a series of shorts produced by a new animation unit through the end of the decade.   • A storm strands a ship, its skipper, its first mate and five passengers on an island following a tour of a marina. (Gilligan's Island)

  • In Russia, Hellboy pursues Baba Yaga in an attempt to put an end to child abductions in the area. In the ensuing struggle he shoots out her left eye, forcing her from the mortal world. (Hellboy: The Baba Yaga)
  • The isolated town of Gatlin, Nebraska is affected by a blighted corn harvest. The children and teenagers of the town are overcome with a religious mania and form a cult worshiping an entity known as He Who Walks Behind The Rows. They massacre their parents and every other adult over the age of 20, but He Who Walks Behind The Rows is forced to personally dispatch the towns police chief and minister who escape the cultists. As punishment, the age limit is lowered from 20 to 19 and the cultists of that age are sacrificed. Gatlin is completely cut off from the rest of the world. (Children of the Corn)

  • Late 1964-early 1965: Ringo Starr accepts a ring that, unknown to him, is required to be sacrificed by an Eastern cult. Attempts to retrieve the ring do not go smoothly. timing  (Help!)
  • Sheriff Kerby kills the Half-Human Hybrid Larry in Hyder, Alaska and buries him under a tree. Larry's twin brother Lester later exhumes him. He places the body in a Tsimshian burial chamber and covers the walls with alien writing in the hope that Larry will come back to life. (Taken)

  • February 14: Birth of Ken Masters in the United States. He is born into a wealthy family but grows up to become a martial artist. (Street Fighter II)

  • April 10: The United States tests an experimental cosmic ray bomb. (Dimension X)
  • April 18: Birth of Cody Travers in the United States. He would grow up to become a martial artist, a vigilante hero and eventually a combat addict. (Final Fight, Street Fighter Alpha)
  • April:
    • Kim Karlsen and his buddies Ola, Gunnar and Seb (nicknaming themselves after the members of The Beatles) steal a Mercedes logo in Oslo. They get to hear Bob Dylan for the first time, and gets the first news of The Vietnam War. (Beatles)
    • The ghosts of Confederate village Pleasant Valley torture and murder Yankees to avenge their massacre 100 years before. (Two Thousand Maniacs!)
  • May 11: Sam Beckett leaps into Clyde, a young newlywed who has just joined the Ku Klux Klan, in Alabama. He is there to prevent an African-American civil rights activist named Nathaniel Simpson from being lynched by the Klan. (Quantum Leap)
  • May: Kim Karlsen and friends find a drowned man outside the beach of Huk in Oslo. (Beatles)
  • June 15: Sam Beckett leaps into a fashion photographer named Karl Granson in New York City. He is there to prevent a young model, Edie Landsdale, from dying of a drug overdose. (Quantum Leap)
  • June: Gangster Mr. Bribery and his sister/accomplice Ugly Christine begin their activities. Bribery proves himself to be one of the most ghoulish criminals Dick Tracy has ever faced, with a predilection for branding his henchmen with the letter "B" and decapitating his victims to keep their shrunken heads as trophies.   • August 11: Sam Beckett leaps into Ray Harper, an African-American medical student who is engaged to a white woman named Susan Brewster, in the middle of the Watts Riots in California. He is there to keep Ray and Susan together and to ensure that Ray becomes a doctor. (Quantum Leap)

  • August 31, 10pm: The legendary mahjong match between Shigeru Akagi and Iwao Washizu begins. (Akagi)

  • October 20: Jet Morgan becomes the first person in space. (Journey into Space)
  • October 22: Luna lands on The Moon. Stephen "Mitch" Mitchell is the first person to walk on its surface. The first moonwalk is broadcast to Earth over the radio. (Journey into Space)

  • November 8: Sam Beckett leaps into a Mafia hitman named Frankie LaPalma in New York City. He is there to prevent Frankie from being killed for dating the godfather Don Geno Frascatti's mistress Teresa Pacci. (Quantum Leap)

    • The Northeast blackout causes major power outages in several U.S. states and Canada. (Real Life)
    • The blackout is caused by a failed attempt by Project Quantum Leap to return Sam Beckett to his own time. He instead leaps into Don Geno Frascatti. (Quantum Leap)

  • Before November 20: The crew of the rocket ship Luna make First Contact with an alien race, known as the Time Travellers, on The Moon. (Journey into Space)

  • First Conference of Rio re-establishes the U.N. after the devastation of World War III. (The Psychotechnic League)
  • The Race-German War is fought. The Greater German Reich invades Poland, whose security is guaranteed by the aliens. Most of Poland is destroyed by German nuclear missiles, and in retaliation Germany is turned into a radioactive wasteland. The Germans agree to a harsh peace, while the remaining human nations begin cooperating more closely to maintain the balance of power. (Worldwar)
  • Connor MacLeod changes his legal identity to "Russell Nash". He would continue using that name until the 1980s. (Highlander)

  • March: Rosemarie Miletti, a young woman receiving singing lessons, is struggling with caring for her younger sister Mary who has leukemia.   • May 17:
    • In Smallville, Kansas, Jonathan and Martha Kent witness a spaceship crash in Shuster's Field and find a baby in the wreckage. (Lois & Clark)
    • Tempus, a criminal from the 22nd Century, forces H. G. Wells to take him back in time so that he can kill Superman as a baby using kryptonite. However, he is stopped by the adult Superman and Lois Lane from 1995. (Lois & Clark)
  • May 21: Sam Beckett leaps into a 79-year-old man named Maxwell Stoddard who lives with his son John and his family in Charlemont, Massachusetts. He is there to prevent Maxwell from being committed due to his claims to have seen UFOs and Maxwell's grandson Tim from running away and dying of a drug overdose. (Quantum Leap)
  • Spring: Kim Karlsen travels to Denmark for a football match, only to discover that his former girlfriend has begun dating someone else. Kim drinks himself out of his wits on the way home. (Beatles)

  • June 6:
    • The Levellers, a group of super-powered people, make their public debut. (No Hero)
    • Murdoc Alphonce Niccals is born. (Gorillaz)
  • June 14: Sam Beckett leaps into Will Kinman, the fiancé of Abagail Fuller, in Pottersville, Louisiana. He is there to prevent Abagail from being lynched by a mob led by Leta Aider because of the disappearance of a seven-year-old boy named Pervis Takins whom she was babysitting. During this leap, Sam and Abagail conceive a daughter, Sammie Jo Fuller. (Quantum Leap)
  • June 19: Birth of Robyn Canmore/ "Robyn Correy" to Charles Canmore and an unnamed mother. She would grow up to become a Hunter. (Gargoyles)

  • June 24: Fred Hansen, a working class boy attending Kim Karlsen's school, is deliberately drowned at a beach outside Oslo. Kim and his friends are on a camping trip at the same time. (Beatles)

  • July 4: Mary Richard and Howard Arnell see each other for the last time until she invites him over to her apartment for drinks in October 1970. (The Mary Tyler Moore Show)
  • July 20: The First Doctor and his companions Ben Jackson and Polly Wright prevent the supercomputer WOTAN from conquering the world. (Doctor Who)
  • July:
  • August 12: Dr. Theresa Givens travels back in time and kills Robert Beck before he can murder eight women. (The Outer Limits (1995))
  • August 19: George makes his third stop on his journey into the future, arriving amid the sound of air raid sirens. He meets James Filby, the son of his close friend David Filby. James recalls conversing with him on September 13, 1917 and is amazed that he has not aged a day in 49 years. Before George can explain, London is struck by an atomic bomb.   • October 31:

  • November 10: Zachary Gidlund disappears. (The 4400)
  • November 17: Al Bundy scores four touchdowns in a single game. He was playing with Polk High Panthers against the team of Andrew Johnson High. This year, the Panthers and Bundy became their Most Valuable Player (MVP). He had scored the most touchdowns in one season for the team. He would earn himself a scholarship for college, but a broken leg would end his sports career prematurely. (Married... with Children)
  • Autumn: Kim Karlsen is confirmed at the church of Frogner, Oslo. He and his friends attend the first anti-war rally. (Beatles)

  • Michael Armstrong, an esteemed American rocket scientist, defects to East Germany. Sarah Sherman, his assistant and fiancée, reluctantly follows him. Armstrong is actually a double agent but the Stasi is determined to keep him within the East German borders. (Torn Curtain)
  • Birth of Janine "Fox" Renard to Halcyon and Anastasia Renard. Since "Anastasia" was actually Titania, queen of the fairies, Janine is actually a halfling. She would grow up to become the leader of the Pack and wife of David Xanatos. (Gargoyles)

  • Andy Dufresne mysteriously disappears from his cell at Shawshank Prison overnight, and inspection of the cell reveals a tunnel hidden behind a poster of Rita Hayworth, secretly carved over the course of 19 years. At the same time, a man using the name "Randall Stephens" empties the bank accounts containing Warden Samuel Nortons laundered money, and mails proof of the wardens' corruption to the press, along with evidence of brutality and murder happening at Shawshank. While observing the crop circle in a helicopter, Crawford and the others see another in the vicinity. It is in the shape of a peace symbol and the word "Howdy" written beside it. As a result, Crawford's career is ruined. He later learns that it was a prank orchestrated by the leading debunker Tom Clarke in revenge for Crawford breaking his mother Sally's heart and kidnapping his younger half-brother Jacob in 1959. When Willie asks him what's the weirdest thing that he has ever seen, Jesse says that he has been taken aboard a Flying Saucer multiple times and once saw his father Russell, who had recently died, on one of them. Grateful that Jesse saved his life twice in Vietnam, Willie cuts off his supply in the hope that he will go straight. (Taken)
  • April 12: Sam Crawford, a journalism student at UC Berkeley, returns home to Las Vegas as he heard that his father Colonel Owen Crawford lost his job. He almost immediately gets into an argument with both his father and his elder brother Eric about the UFO project. Sam believes that it is a nothing more than a Government Conspiracy designed to distract people from the real issues such as The Vietnam War and the secret testing of chemical weapons on innocent civilians. That night, Sam sees an article about the discovery of the mummy in Hyder, Alaska. He realizes that the writing on the burial chamber walls matches that on the artifact found at the Roswell crashsite which his mother Anne briefly showed him on October 28, 1962. After revealing that the alien threat is very real, Owen tells Sam that Jacob Clarke showed him all of his memories and all of his fears and even how he would die in 1959.     • Sheriff Kerby orders Dr. Powell and his students Sarah, Buzz and Daryl to leave Hyder, Alaska by sundown, which Sam Crawford finds suspicious considering that they discovered the body of an apparent murder victim. The group then discovers that the mummy has disappeared. Sam finds that whoever took it left behind the imprint of an inhuman hand.   • April 18:
    • Jesse Keys and Amelia Henderson go for hot dogs in the park near the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Chicago. While there, Jesse has an hallucination involving the carny that he often sees when the aliens abduct him and attacks an innocent bystander. Later that day, Jesse refuses to accept the Bronze Star and Purple Heart that he earned in Vietnam. He confides in Amelia that what he did wasn't brave because he knew that nothing could hurt him, telling her that "they" saved him when his unit was attacked in a temple in the Quảng Ninh Province. However, he does not explain who "they" are. (Taken)
    • An elderly man named Leo tells Sam Crawford that his daughter Nadine was impregnated by an alien. She gave birth to twin boys named Larry and Lester, who were disfigured and possessed strange abilities. As a result, the townspeople feared them. Before he can explain any further, Sheriff Kerby arrives and takes Sam into the woods with the intention of killing him. However, Sam escapes and makes his way to the old cabin where Lester lives in seclusion. He learns that Lester has been taking care of the injured Wendy Rankin. A posse led by Wendy's mother Louise then arrives and begins to spread gasoline around the cabin in order to kill Lester. Sam convinces them to stop but his brother Eric shows up and announces his intention to bring Lester back to the UFO project for study. After one of the locals starts a fire, Sam rushes into the cabin to save Lester. However, he sees all of his memories and all of his fears when he looks into Lester's eyes.
