     Skunk
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skunk.jpg

Voiced by: Jules de Jongh

The main hero of the series who strives to be a Kung Fu master by being taught by his Master Panda.

  • Badass Adorable: Whenever he’s fighting the Ninja Monkeys.
  • Because Destiny Says So: Skunk is destined to defeat Dragon.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: He’ll often act like this sometimes and can get quite mischievous.
  • Butt-Monkey: He can often have a lot of bad luck despite being the hero.
  • The Chosen One: He was given to Panda when he asked for help defeating Dragon.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He pulls out a witty line every once in a while.
  • Delivery Stork: He came from one of these right into Panda’s arms.
  • Fartillery: He's got this—but unlike most other examples, Skunk explains that he can't do it on command and that he's only ever able to use it when scared or embarrassed.
  • The Hero: In addition to being The Protagonist, he is always the one to save the day.
  • Iron Butt Monkey: Despite his bad luck he seems to endure it quite well. Then again he is the hero.
  • Misplaced Wildlife: The series takes place in an Asian setting but striped skunks are only native to North America. This is actually a plot point, as the near-sighted stork who delivered him mistook Panda for another skunk and thus literally dropped him in the wrong continent.
  • Paper Fan of Doom: He joins Fox, Duck and Crane in their fan-fighting team.
  • The Protagonist: He is the show's main character.
  • Smelly Skunk: Surprisingly, this is zig-zagged. As noted above, while he can "skunk" (as he calls it), he's unable to do it on command—he usually sprays when he's startled or embarrassed, although it's averted in a handful of episodes. He has also admitted that he usually feels embarrassed when he skunks.
  • Weaponized Stench: On occasion, Skunk's musk has been intentionally activated in order to ward off the villains.

     Master Panda
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/panda_skunk_fu_47.jpg

Voiced by: Paul Tylak

Master Panda is the teacher of Skunk and the leader of the Valley Animals.

     Rabbit

Voiced by: Paul Tylak

Rabbit is one of the many allies and friends Skunk has, though he can be quite a jerk and a bully towards him at times.

  • Anti-Hero: He's arrogant, cocky, short-tempered, mean, and violent who picks on Skunk and has a big ego, but is on the side of good.
  • Badass Adorable: Like Skunk, He's a furry little fellow who can kick ass.
  • Badass Boast: He manages one when Baboon asks the classic "You and what army?" Rabbit's response? He flexes one arm, then the other, saying, "This army over here, and this army over here.
  • Berserk Button: He can be triggered quite easily due to his ill-tempered personality.
  • Big Brother Bully: Rabbit is mostly this to Skunk. There are times however when he teeters on being a Big Brother Mentor.
  • Butt-Monkey: The most prime example. Though he either deserves it and/or tends to bring it upon himself.
  • The Chew Toy: His incidents are usually the most comedic.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He may have the wittiest lines of the characters.
  • Deuteragonist: The second main focus of the show.
  • Iron Butt Monkey: Much like Skunk he is shown to endure his incidents quite well.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Out of most of the cast, Rabbit tends to pick on Skunk the most and is usually the only one to openly disagree with Panda's ways. However, he does show his good side every once in a while.
  • Karma Houdini: Despite his Butt-Monkey status there were times when he got away with his Jerkass behavior, like in "The Art of Influence" where he flat out insults Pig and receives no punishment for it.
  • Misplaced Wildlife: With the exception of the Chinese hare & Manchurian hare (neither of which he is) rabbits are not native to China.
  • Pet the Dog: He may the show's biggest Jerkass but whenever Skunk is in danger, his Big Brother Instinct will kick in and rescue or protect him.
  • Rhymes on a Dime: His love poem to Fox in "The Art of the Crush".
  • Warhawk: He practically lives for battling.

     Fox

Voiced by: Patricia Rodriguez

Fox is another one of Skunk’s friends and allies. She is almost like a big sister to him and is Rabbit’s crush.

     Pig

Voiced by: Tony Acworth

Pig is a wild boar who Skunk occasionally hangs out with and is often ditzy and a bit of a slouch in the brains department.

  • Beware the Silly Ones: Despite his ditziness he can still put up quite a fight, especially if its truffle season.
  • Big Eater: He has moments of a big appetite.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Not very bright and often in la-la-land.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: He becomes "Master Pig", thanks to Rabbit's "octopus arm" weapon (a plunger attached to a rope, which Pig excels in using).
  • The Ditz: Easily the least intelligent of the Valley Animals.
  • Genius Ditz: Despite his low intelligence he is shown to capable in some skills.
  • Jerkass Ball: In the episode "The Art of Initiation" he becomes quite a Jerkass by acting arrogant to win the Initiation test and is completely ignorant when Skunk saves him a few times. He even goes as far as to call Skunk a loser (in his thoughts).
  • Karma Houdini: Goes with the example above. His Jerkass Ball moment doesn't give him a punishment at all in the episode.
  • Messy Pig: He spends a lot of his time playing in the mud.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: His voice is similar to Bobcat Goldthwait.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Though its usually because Skunk saves him a lot.

     Ms. Duck

Voiced by: Jules de Jongh

Ms. Duck is a wise old bird who is good friends with Panda. She is also a master at cooking and Dim Sum Fu.

     Doctor Turtle

Voiced by: Tony Acworth

Doctor Turtle is, as you can tell, the doctor of the Valley Animals. He’s also good friends with Panda.

     Tiger

Voiced by: Rod Goodall

Tiger is another warrior of the Valley Animals, though he tends to be too much of a coward to really fight.

  • Berserk Button: In "The Art Of Being A Pebble" he gets angry and fights the Ninja Monkeys when they destroy his valuables.
  • Butt-Monkey: Has his moments though not as much as other characters.
  • Cats Are Mean: Averted since he’s a mighty warrior and part of the good side.
  • Cowardly Lion: Or Cowardly Tiger in this case.
  • In Touch with His Feminine Side: There are hints of him having a feminine side, like him owning a geisha fan.

     Snake

Voiced by: Paul Tylak

Snake is the spy of the Valley Animals.

  • Butt-Monkey: He can either suffer incidents or just be the butt of jokes.
  • Just a Stupid Accent: His Australian accent.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: Averted, though he does retain some sly snake characteristics. Especially averted in that he's a cobra, the kind of snake most often associated with this trope.

     Crane

Voiced by: Jules de Jongh

Crane is the valley gossip.

     Mantis

Voiced by: Tony Acworth

Mantis is another warrior of the Valley, albeit one of the weaker ones.

     Ox and Bird

Both voiced by: Tony Acworth

Ox and Bird are a duo of animals that, unlike the others, spend their time slacking off and lazying about. Which makes for a great pair of best friends for Skunk.

  • Big Guy, Little Guy: Bird is the small guy and Ox is the big guy.
  • Butt-Monkey: Bird has these moments from time to time.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Ox’s ditziness also means he has no thoughts, which actually comes in handy for seeing the Ninja Monkeys when they’re invisible.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Bird likes to make a lot of wisecracks.
  • The Ditz: Ox. Though not as much as Pig, he still shows low intelligence a lot.
  • Gentle Giant: Ox is the biggest of the Valley animals but also one of the friendliest.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Bird can be a bit of a jerk sometimes but he’s still a good friend to Ox and Skunk.
  • Lazy Bum: They spend their time lying around in the valley rather than defending it like the others, though they’ve had moments where they can help out as well.
  • Naked People Are Funny: At the end of “The Art Of Endurance” Panda teaches Skunk a new move called "The Knuckle of Nakedness" which he uses on Bird, causing him to lose his feathers.
  • Surfer Dude: Ox speaks like this.
  • The Napoleon: Bird. He's a small bird but he is generally not nice, compared to Gentle Giant Ox.
  • Those Two Guys: They are always seen together, though Skunk (and sometimes even Pig) will join them on occasion.

     Frog

Voiced by: Tony Acworth

Frog is the master of jumping. He is one of the lesser used characters in the show.

     Fish

Voiced by: Tony Acworth

Fish is the master of swimming.

     The Killer Bees

Voiced by: Tony Acworth

The Killer Bees are a nest of bees that will attack anyone who provokes them.

  • Anti-Hero: Zig-zagged. Sometimes they seem completely neutral and will attack anyone who provokes them (good or bad) but other times they can be allies with the other animals.
  • Bee Afraid: Only when provoked.
  • Hip-Hop: They speak in hip-hip style of dialogue.
  • Insect Gender-Bender: The swarm consists of worker bees but they seem to be all male.
  • Synchronized Swarming: They will often do this from time to time.

The Villains

     Dragon

Voiced by: Rod Goodall

Dragon is the Big Bad of the series. He use to be a noble protector of all the animals but after using water without permission from Heaven to prevent a drought he was punished and imprisoned. Now he seeks vengeance on all the animals for his damnation.

  • Anti-Villain: He could be seen as this as he only became evil due to how severe his punishment was.
  • Big Bad: Of the series.
  • Evil Is Bigger: Well he is a dragon.
  • Evil Sounds Raspy: He has such a raspy voice to him.
  • Fallen Hero: A rather tragic case of it. Dragon used to be a heroic guardian of the valley, but after failing a test from Heaven, he was punished. This caused him to turn into the monster he is today.
  • Freudian Excuse: Being punished so severely and rather unfairly caused him to become the Big Bad.
  • Secret Test of Character: In his backstory, the valley was under a severe drought. So, Dragon asked Heaven if he could use his powers to make in rain. Heaven didn't respond, so Dragon against Panda's advice made it rain anyway. Heaven's response to this was to punish him.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: Poor Dragon has to rely on the incompetent Baboon and his dimwitted Ninja Monkeys to do his bidding.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Before Dragon was punished and became a villain he and Panda were quite best friends.

     Baboon

Voiced by: Paul McLoone

Baboon is the main lackey of Dragon and the head of the Ninja Monkey army.

  • Butt-Monkey: Often his failures lead him to being humiliated.
  • Camp Straight: Despite his sometimes effeminate actions, he obviously has a crush on Fox.
  • Catchphrase: "Wasabi!"
  • The Dragon: Which is ironic given who his Big Bad is.
  • Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: More often than not his stupidity and ineptitude is what causes him to lose most of the time.
  • In Touch with His Feminine Side: He is shown to have this from time to time.
  • Just a Stupid Accent: His Cockney accent.
  • Maniac Monkey: Or Maniac Baboon in his case.
  • Misplaced Wildlife: Like Rabbit, he's one of the few animals whose species isn't actually native to China. His reddish complexion and light fur do make him resemble a macaque, of which there are species from there, but that he's referred to as a baboon instead still makes him this trope.
  • Naked People Are Funny: In the episode “The Art Of Stealing” he reveals that he tried to fight while being naked which is played up for laughs.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: Despite his incompetence he can still be a threat and he even came close to winning at times, like in “The Art Of Strategy”.
  • Pet the Dog: Though he abuses the Ninja Monkeys a lot he does show a caring side to them as well.

     The Ninja Monkeys
The Ninja Monkeys are the main Mooks of the series.
  • Butt Monkeys: Both literally and metaphorically. Whether it be losing to the Valley Animals embarrassingly or being abused by their boss Baboon.
  • The Chew Toys: They are constantly squashed, caught in traps, beaten up and get themselves in painful slapstick moments.
  • Jerkass: One monkey in particular (identified by a goat-like beard) was like this to Skunk in the episode "The Art Of Revenge" where he smashed his green tea cake (prompting Skunk to want revenge), though he later had a Pet the Dog moment where lets Skunk and Rabbit go (after capturing them) when Skunk decided not to get revenge by smashing his banana pie.
  • Maniac Monkeys: They are the main Mooks after all.
  • Mooks: Of the series.
  • Ninja
  • Not So Harmless Villains: They are usually too dimwitted to come close to winning but they can still be competent lackeys at times.
  • The Unintelligible: They mainly speak in monkey noises and are the only characters in the show that don’t speak English.
  • Vile Villain, Laughable Lackey: Dragon is the vile villain while these guys are definitely his laughable lackeys.
