"I'm a faun, you dork."

  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf has the Breakout Character Isabelle, a perky, adorkable Shih Tzu who serves as your in-game aide. Just ask Google Images. She's especially popular among the Furry Fandom for obvious reasons.
  • ARMS has Mechanica, a small, frail, large-eyed teenage girl piloting a big mechanical suit. In interviews leading up to release, the developers essentially admit that she was designed with this trope in mind, although the aforementioned suit means she's more than capable of protecting herself.
  • Saki from Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel. She's so Moe that she produces a Memetic Mutation.
  • Ratonhnhaké:ton/Connor Kenway from Assassin's Creed III. Murderer he may be but he's a big, awkward, sweet man who's naïve and coltish; and very cute for that.
  • Atelier Series has Pamela, a very cute Ghost Girl. No male or Mon could resist her charms.
  • Aerie from Baldur's Gate II. Like her or not, she has all the markings of one.
    • Imoen is also VERY moe in the second game, when she reaches serious woobie status.
  • The "Q-Pro" Player Characters in beatmania IIDX. They're Super-Deformed, and in storyline events often get into dangerous situations that cause them to have absolutely adorable Freak Outs.
  • Elizabeth from BioShock Infinite is significantly less helpless than is standard, but her appearance and personality still fit.
  • BlazBlue:
    • Noel Vermillion, an adorably ditzy Lieutenant for the world government who, whenever you see her, you'll just want to give her a big hug.
    • Tsubaki might be inching in this direction if she keeps getting mind raped the way she is, too. Though to a lesser extent than Noel.
    • Makoto has shades of this as well.
      • These three are best friends, and oftentimes fall into a sort of three-way Moe Couplet.
    • In Chronophantasma Celica joins the fray. Her overall ditziness and all-loving personality just add more to her cuteness.
    • Part of the appeal of Alter Memory is seeing Lambda-11 develop a personality, something which continues into CP and CF. Her personality? Absolutely adorable. Being the aforementioned Noel's sister helps. Also counts as another Moe Couplet, with Noel's attempts to help Lambda grow as a person.
  • Blazblue Cross Tag Battle lampshades this. The character cards give joke stats about the characters, and a lot of female characters have "Kawaii" as a stat. This ranges from eight stars for Es to a whopping twelve for Ruby Rose and Weiss Schnee.
  • Bloodborne: The Plain Doll, which is no surprise being as she's an Expy of the Maiden in Black. She loves the Hunter unconditionally, frequently prays for thier safety, and in fact can only come to life if she is loved. And should the player show her a small kindness by giving her a hair ornament, the Doll becomes so overwhelmed with the unfamiliar emotion of joy, that she sheds a stone tear with healing properties, which the flavor text says is not supposed to be possible.
  • Miriam from Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night can be deceptively endearing at times. She's mainly a confident Action Girl both in gameplay and in cutscenes, but her friendliness to the villagers, teasing tone of voice and trust in Johannes, and the adorable pose she makes when she cooks is really quite cute.
  • Every single female character in the Cherry Tree High Comedy Club series of indie games qualifies (especially Sara), except Cindy and Dina.
  • Coco in the revived Crash Bandicoot series is this, especially when she mimics her big brother's dance.
  • Cuphead: Suffice to say, Cuphead and Mugman themselves are adorable. With their Vague Age, you kinda admit that they look like children with cups-for-heads... except that they're actually adolescents who have started their puberty.
    • Among the bosses, Weepy is the main example for obvious reasons.
    • Ms. Chalice is also very cute. Both as a ghost and as a playable character.
  • Data Design Interactive could be annotated for attempting multiple times to make a game made full of those characters (such as with their Myth Makers series of video games). The problem is is that all too often they used the aesthetic to hide the fact that their games were of poor quality, which lead towards the general consensus that Moe is Shovelware.
  • Demon's Souls: The Maiden in Black is so cute that if you kill her, she will resurrect shortly after, and then apologize to you for not being able to die. The way she swings her feet on the stairs while waiting for you to get back is also nothing short of adorable.
  • Devil Survivor is pretty heavy on the Moe (the better to freak you out with), but Amane Kuzuryu takes the cake. Her status as a Defrosting Emotionless Girl who gets royally screwed over by her father is enough to make her a Rei clone. And when you save her from Demonic Possession in her route, her return to normal is just adorable.
  • Dishonored: Low Chaos Corvo Attano. At least the fandom thinks so. He just wants to put Emily on the throne with the least blood shed, and he's utterly loyal to her and the conspiracy to crown her. And all his interactions with Emily are adorable. At the beginning of the game, Corvo can play hide and seek with Emily, and when she is first rescued, Corvo gives her his arm all the way back to the Hounds Pits. His unflinching loyalty to his dead Empress and Emily is utterly cute, even if he does eat rats.
  • From the Dragon Age series:
    • Alistair in Dragon Age: Origins. He is so innocent and shy, it's adorable! Then he goes all Knight in Shining Armor, or tries to, once you romance him a little. When compared to food, one Dragon Age writer said Alistair is like "strawberries and cream, sweet and wholesome and delicious, and a little goofy." Another said he is like an apricot "Cute, sweet and just a little fuzzy." Leliana is also endearing in her own way.
    • Bethany in Dragon Age II. The face system seems designed to give her moe eyes if you make a custom face. Merrill is probably the best example in this game, though, being a clumsy, sweet, shoeless, well-intentioned, Cloudcuckoolander doe-eyed innocent blood mage.
    • Cole from Dragon Age: Inquisition is considered moe by many fans, despite being rather eerie. He is very earnest in his desire to help people and is also charmingly naive about many things in the world. Cole seems to elicit protective instincts in many fans, and even in some of the other party members.
  • Any character portrait in the Etrian Odyssey series is Super-Deformed.
  • The Evil Within: Leslie. He's a baby-faced young man suffering from multiple mental conditions, stuck in a Gorn-filled mental hospital and the target of the Big Bad. The main character becomes very protective of Leslie, who tries his best to help out when he can. Many fans have also taken to Leslie and find him adorable.
  • Fallout 4:
    • Curie is a medical Miss Nanny robot and potentially a Gen-3 synth who speaks with a gentle French accent. She's very well-liked by the fandom for some reason.
    • Piper tends to capture the rest of the female-centric vote, with her idealism and concern for the wellbeing of others outweighing (or, depending on perspective, complementing) her tomboyish ways.
  • The Final Fantasy series:
    • Final Fantasy XIII- Hope and Vanille
    • Vivi from Final Fantasy IX is the best example in the series. He has many of the standard moe traits: he is clumsy, shy, young and innocent. Add in existential angst to justify his social awkwardness and a doll-like appearance and you have a character that most players just want to give a hug to.
    • Tifa from Final Fantasy VII can get pretty Moe at times, especially when she acts shy and awkward around Cloud.
      • And the Remake adds even more to her Moeness, where she is more openly concerned with making sure that Avalanche's actions don’t fall under Well-Intentioned Extremist territory, which makes her come across as even more caring and thoughtful than she already did in the original game. She also gets a few new scenes where she comes across as especially cute, such as when she’s afraid of the ghosts around her and Aerith, and hides behind Aerith for protection from them. It also helps that she’s given a beautiful voice with a sincerely encouraging tone courtesy of Britt Baron, plus gets Zettai Ryouiki added to her costume in this version which amps up the cuteness of her already cute look.
      • Aerith is quite Moe as well, as a Plucky Girl with a cute design who helps bring out Cloud’s sillier side.
      • Cloud himself even displays many Moe characteristics. Final Fantasy VII Remake is where his social awkwardness and Sugar-and-Ice Personality are most noticeable, though even his characterization in the original game still qualifies. Cloud is also a Woobie. It is difficult not to feel for Cloud when Sephiroth's presence is able to reduce him to terrified, childlike whimpering.
    • Can't forget Yuna and Rikku from Final Fantasy X, especially with how Woobie they both are.
    • Dissidia makes Terra so moe it's adorable, unless you hate her for it.
    • Prompto from Final Fantasy XV, due to being a Keet who happens to take selfies frequently.
  • Fire Emblem loves this, especially if they initially appear as enemies, as their faces scream "recruit me" because tons of them are just innocent girls dragged into battles by villains.
  • First Encounter Assault Recon: Alma Wade, at least in child form. Proof that, properly utilized, Moe can be scary as hell.
  • Genshin Impact:
    • Amber has a bunny Animal Motif which already makes her pretty cute, but her genki Nice Girl attitude and her cuddling and hugging her Baron Bunny stuffed animal elevated her to full Moe status with the fans.
    • Barbara's completely unironic Idol Singer shtick and her general cheery antics, fighting with sparkles and rainbows, and Nice Girl personality make fans melt like gooey chocolate around her.
    • Collei, a character who first appeared in the prequel tie-in webcomic with one hell of a Dark and Troubled Past, melted fans' hearts when she first appeared in the game proper thanks to her Cute Clumsy Girl antics, a sweet and earnest admiration of her friend Amber, and a debilitating case of sickness that has left her Delicate and Sickly; as well as one of the most well-deservedly unambiguous happy endings at the resolution of Sumeru's Archon Quest. Mix well, and you've got one of the most huggable characters in the entire game; ironic considering that she Hates Being Touched.
    • While she's infamous for her highly attractive design and figure, Ganyu also tends toward melting hearts with her cuteness thanks to having a bit of a Sleepyhead streak, soft and fluffy hair, and one of the kindest personalities of Liyue's playable cast. The end result is a young lady that fans want to hug just as much as they want to enjoy her risque wardrobe.
    • The "Flavors of the World" animatic that played at the end of the "Moonchase Festival" event back in 2021 included several shots of Liyue's playable cast as kids; Hu Tao as a kid in particular caused fans to start fawning.
    • Klee was designed with Moe in mind, in-between the grenades and bombs she chucks in combat being stuffed animals and her general Cheerful Child outlook on life. The fans consider her one of the most heart-meltingly adorable characters in the game because of how much the Rule of Cute applies to her.
    • Layla's Cute Bookworm tendencies and sympathetic nature as an overworked and sleep-deprived student combined with her Sleepyhead nature and tendency to Sleepwalk endeared her to the fanbase incredibly quickly.
    • Nahida is another character fans consider to be the most heart-meltingly adorable in the game, thanks to her looking like a tiny and adorable child and having some of the cutest animations in the game (such as forming picture hands with one of her combat animations, striking adorable poses in other combat animations, and playing on a swing or with paper cutout dolls made from her Dendro magic), as well as her tendency to show both insane wisdom (befitting her true nature as Lesser Lord Kusanali) and innocent naivete with her use of metaphors. Combining that with making her one of the biggest woobies in the game made fans start to absolutely fawn over the little radish and become highly protective of her.
    • Nilou is both drop-dead gorgeous and adorable in equal measure. Being a bit of an airhead while having a soft and gentle voice and being one of the kindest members of the Sumeru cast barring Nahida made fans fall in love almost all at once.
    • Paimon is the Traveler's adorable Fairy Companion who fans love thanks to how cute her facial expressions can be. It's even more pronounced in the Japanese dub of the game, where Aoi Koga gives her a cute, girly voice, from which the "Ehe te nandayo?!" meme spawned.
    • Qiqi is a tiny and adorable Undead Child with an emotionless flat affect that is also gentle and soft at the same time, making fans want to scoop her up and give her a big hug and protect her rather than the other way around. Even those who consider her a full Memetic Loser due to her relatively lower-end kit and for her tendency to spook players pulling on a limited character gacha couldn't help but fawn when she asked for Cocogoat milknote  during Liyue's Archon Quest.
    • Sayu is a tiny ninja dressed in a mujinanote  suit who is perpetually sleepy and voiced by none other than LilyPichu in the English dub. Fans latched onto and started fawning over her pretty fast as a result.
    • Sucrose's shy, nerdy persona and general kindness in spite of her lack of social skills did wonders in endearing her to fans.
    • Xiangling's Anime Chinese Girl aesthetic and adorably goofy, upbeat, and kind personality meant that fans loved her for more than just her qualities as a Supreme Chef.
    • Yaoyao is an absolutely adorable and precocious Cheerful Child who looks after her elders like an 8-or-9-year-old big sister and fights with her stuffed bunny "Yuegui" dolls like Klee and Amber. Even in-universe the Adepti of Liyue all fawn over and dote on her.
    • Yun Jin is an odd case as she appears elegant, graceful, and aloof at first glance. Players who got to know her by playing her Hangout Event, however, realized that this was just a façade and the real Yun Jin is a playful, laid-back, and sweet person who can even be mischievous at times, at one point even distracting the Traveler so that she could surprise them with a big tackle-hug. Fans fell in love as a result.
  • God of War Ragnarök: In a series known for its brutal combat and often-dark writing, you have Fenrir who, despite being a giant, immortal hel-wolf, is a big, fluffy, and very good boy. With the warm Puppy-Dog Eyes and loyal affection to his masters, it's no wonder so many players take the opportunity to give him pets.
  • Golden Sun: Dark Dawn brings Sveta the Beastman Adept to the table. For starters, she's one of the most human-looking of the beastmen, with Pointy Ears, paws for feet, a very slight muzzle, and big catlike green eyes. But the true moe appeal of Sveta is her kind, gentle demeanor and huggably shy behavior (outside of battle), which is all justified: she feels guilty for the atrocities her people committed in their recent revolution.
  • Guilty Gear has several:
    • May is considered to be one of the cutest characters in the cast due to her being one of the nicer fighters and having many cute sea animals to fight with her, especially in -STRIVE-. Her victory pose where she celebrates with her friend, April, is also considered to be really sweet.
    • Dizzy, despite her status as the Final Boss of X, is considered very cute by many fans, thanks to her gentle personality and the fact that she truly doesn't want to hurt people.
    • Bridget is considered adorable by many fans thanks to her cute appearance, friendly personality, and her attacks with her yo-yo and teddy bear.
    • Elphelt's first outing in Xrd has her in pink and white, befitting her wedding themed appearance, and her Instant Kill is funnily adorable as it involves making the opponent fall in love with her and gain heart eyes. Her sweet and supportive friendship with her sister, Ramlethal also won over many fans.
  • Honkai: Star Rail:
    • Clara is a character who causes fans to melt like gooey chocolate around her - she's an adorable Nice Girl and Heartwarming Orphan who only wants people to get along and be happy in her home of Belobog and uses cutesy emoticons when texting the Trailblazer on their phone, such as ('・ω・') and (☉Д☉). Hell, this even extends into her gameplay and In-Universe lore - her adoptive father, Svarog, is a gigantic robot who is nothing short of doting and supportive of his child and her kit is entirely based around Svarog doing the heavy lifting in combat like an infuriated Papa Wolf protecting his brood, to the point where he will counterattack hostiles that make the mistake of hurting his beloved Clara. Yes, her kit is built around being protected.
    • Hook is an adorable Cheerful Child who is utterly devoted to her friends and father, Hersman, and is first introduced to the Trailblazer via her coercing them into playing hide-and-go-seek with her and her troupe of troublemakers, the Moles. She's also got adorable idle animations where she adjusts her hat or snacks on a lollipop, and her voicelines in combat like, "Now you see me, now you don't!", "Pitch-Dark Hook the Great has arrived! MAKE WAY! MAKE WAY! WOO-HOOO~! BANG!", or "Form a line, villains!" are just as adorable. The end result? Fans fawning over her as much as they do her cross-company equivalent, Klee.
    • There are some fans who consider Ix, The Nihility - yes, one of the Gods of this cosmology - to be adorable to a Moe-level, since he's an Adorable Abomination who resembles an Unrealistic Black Hole with sad, beady eyes who embodies the philosophy of lethargy and laziness.
  • Inazuma Eleven:
  • Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja: Tsubaki, the storehouse keeper.
  • Kid Icarus: Uprising:
    • After his franchise's revival, Pit has fallen into this category. The guy's innocent, dorky, loves Palutena no matter what she does to him, and despite all the crap he goes through, he still keeps his happy and quirky demeanor no matter what happens. The anime design given to Pit just seems to make him cuter.
    • Palutena's cute, lovable, quirky and snarky personality earned her tons of fanboys. Her Moe factor is taken up to eleven in Palutena's Revolting Dinner, where she acts even cuter and quirkier than usual!
    • Viridi counts as well, despite some of her actions in the game. Then again, she also has the body of an eight year old girl and gets flustered very easily, all key moe traits.
  • Kingdom Hearts has Namine and arguably given her woobie status Xion. Ventus manages to be both this and a Adorably Precocious Child.
    • And from the same game as Ventus, Zexion's "other, Ienzo. A Cute Mute who happens to be an orphan, and is just SO. TINY. His perpetual pout just makes him cuddlier.
    • Younger!Sora and Younger!Riku count too. Aww.
    • Kairi is still pretty moe by the time she grows up, but as a little girl? So precious.
  • The King of Fighters: Athena Asamiya was always a fairly cute girl in all of her appearances but for the moe qualities, was usually outclassed by other characters (such as Kula, Yuri, or Momoko). However, by the twelfth installment, she was redesigned and fell squarely inside the definition.
  • The Kirby franchise in general is very moe, but the titular character is a particular standout since he's a little pink puffball with large eyes and a cheerful personality.
  • League of Legends:
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky:
  • The Legend of Zelda:
  • Life Is Strange:
    • Max with her Adorkable personality, cute appearance, and endearing demeanour definitely counts.
    • Even Chloe is this, due to her somewhat Adorkable personality, beautiful looks, and her tragic past. Especially Alt!Chloe, who is ridiculously sweeter than the present Chloe.
    • Kate fulls this trope all the way.
    • Some of the Blackwell students can also count as this, especially Dana.
  • Liara T'Soni of Mass Effect. Tali'Zorah nar Raaya is equally cute, but much snarkier and less of an innocent.
    • Though if you romance Tali as a male Shepard in Mass Effect 2, she gets so adorably flustered you can practically FEEL a Luminescent Blush coming through her faceplate.
    • In Mass Effect 2, a conversation between a Quarian girl and a Turian implies that Quarians in general instill this sort of reaction in humans ("It's always the same with humans: 'She gets sick easily! She's so vulnerable! I wonder what she looks like under that helmet...'") This could be considered a Lampshade Hanging of the general fan adoration of Tali.
    • Legion. Yes, Legion, at least once he's opened up post his loyalty mission.
    • Keri T'Vessa, the asari reporter from Mass Effect: Andromeda. Helped by a mix of baby-face features, youthful voice, and the fact no matter what choice you make in her questline, she gets into serious trouble for her reporting.
  • Mega Man Legends: Volnutt. He's such an adorably sweet saint that it's hard to not like him.
  • Didn't think Metal Gear could be moe? Think again.
  • Metal Slug: Fiolina "Fio" Germi is a textbook example, safe for the whole "mass murder" thing. Doubles as an Action Girl and Meganekko. The game's eponymous battle tank is also very moe, being surprisingly bouncy and expressive for a weapon of war made of steel.
  • Metroid: Other M attempted to turn Samus into this by making her much more of a Shrinking Violet woobie, but given that this is SAMUS, it did not go down well with the fanbase. Metroid: Samus Returns brought her back to her tougher, less moe characterization, but she still has this one game in which one could consider her moe.
  • Mother 3: Lucas is a male example. He's only twelve or thirteen, incredibly shy, and a major woobie, and many fans agree that he's incredibly adorable.
  • MySims is a Moe game in general, but there are some characters who are this more than others.
  • Neptunia seems to run on this trope with all the characters being moe anthros of gaming consoles and the companies who made the game. The game is also self aware of this trope and uses it to its advantage.
    • One of the promos for the third game has a caption that just says "TONS AND TONS OF MOE!"
  • Nippon Ichi has a number of these characters in their games.
  • Nintendo Wars: Isabella in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. Possibly Penny as well, although it's offset by all the crazy.
  • No More Heroes, there's Pure White Lover Bizarre Jelly, the offensively moe Cliché Storm anime that Travis watches in both games. It needs to be seen to be believed, and it can make you feel creepy even if you're asexual and a girl. Travis explicitly comments on a poster from the show in his home: "Moe~".
  • No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, Shinobu has picked this term up from Travis... sort of. She says "moe!" on receiving items and will taunt enemies with "you've got no moe!" but also asks "what does moe mean, anyway?" while saving.
  • Ochette from Octopath Traveler II is a friendly, enthusiastic and childlike Beastling girl who forms an adorable mother-daughter relationship with Castti during their Crossed Path chapters, even calling her "Mama".
  • Abe, the adorkable protagonist of the two first Oddworld games as well as New'N'Tasty, somehow manages to be seen as this.
  • Ōkami: Origin of all that is good, and mother to us all, Amaterasu. AKA Ammy. AKA Fluffball. AKA Snowy, Fido, pooch, and Snowball. And Powderpuff. We all know she's a full blown deity reincarnated as a wolf, but dammit if she ain't the cutest thing in the world when she's wagging her tail.
  • Ōkamiden sees your puny example and laughs derisively at it. Then you look at this and say "D'AWWWWWWWWWWWWW!"
  • Overwatch:
    • Mei seems to have been explicitly designed to be cute and huggable with her big eyes and Nerd Glasses, despite being just as capable as any other character. Even Snowball looks like an anime sidekick. It helps that her name lends itself well to puns.
      Voice Clip: A-Mei-zing!
    • D.Va as well: The youngest character in the game, a girl in her late teens, a highly competitive streak for potential Tsundere actions, and a rather petite body in a form-fitting plug suit, all of them are recipes for a very adorable character.
    • As shown in Ana's origins video, Pharah was positively adorable as a child.
    • Mercy was pretty cute as a 17-year-old.
    • Tracer’s no slouch in this department either, being a cute, friendly young lady with freckles, tremendous enthusiasm and quite the capacity to stay positive. Her voice lines, emotes and victory poses all convey a playful, youthful exuberance, and her appearances in the animated shorts give her some beautifully rendered and very expressive eyes.
    • Most of the in-costume child versions of the heroes in the "Trick or Treat" sprays qualify. Examples include kid Genji waving two wooden swords with his candy bag over his shoulder, young Lúcio rollerskating around with a bag of candy and oversized goggles, and child McCree stealing someone's bowl of candy.
    • Most of the children characters appear in the animated shorts are this due to the art style and their demeanor. The two most prominent examples would be Timmy in the cinematic trailer — who spends most of his screen time geeking out on the Overwatch hero and Tracer in particular, and Alejandra in the short Hero with her Girlish Pigtails, big eyes and the belief that Soldier: 76 is still a hero.
  • Panel de Pon: Every female character qualifies in some way or another, but Lip especially (although she can take care of herself).
  • Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door: Vivian is an extremely kind Minion with an F in Evil with an adorable design who gets relentlessly bullied by her sisters for no reason. Naturally, it leads to an easy Heel–Face Turn when Mario is actually nice to her. From here she’s an incredibly sweet and shy hero, making it easy for fans to root for her.
  • Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous has the Cute Witch Ember, a waifishly cute adolescent elf girl with a compassionate and optimistic personality and a very woobieish past. She even manages to bring out card-carrying jerkass Daeran Arendae's Big Brother Instinct.
  • Persona:
    • Persona 2 has Jun Kurosu, whose first contact option can literally be translated to "Moe Face." And that's completely ignoring his penchant for very convincing crossdressing.
    • Chihiro and Fuuka from Persona 3 qualify. Both are relatively plain compared to other female characters, tend towards shyness, and Chihiro herself is a first year and afraid of men.
    • Socially awkward? Check. Rough on the outside, squishy on the inside? Check. All in sharp contrast to his gruff appearance, Shinjiro Aragaki, of all people, fits this trope.
    • Ayane from Persona 4 is even more so, as, in addition to being shy and unthreatening, she's mistaken for the main character's younger sister at the festival, has a perpetual blush, and just tries...so hard...to get better at the trombone, even though it's big for her, to catch up with the rest of the band.
      • And then there's Nanako. Just try not to fall in love with her.
      • Not to mention Rise. Yosuke takes special notice.
      • P4 also contains a fairly hilarious subversion using a character from P3, to boot: Chihiro, of all people, shows up during the school trip to Iwatodai, as the class president of Gekkoukan High. She isn't "moe" anymore (her fear of men having been conquered). Instead, she's now only about a half-step under Tina Fey in terms of straight-out hotness.
    • Persona 5:
      • Futaba, a reclusive shut-in of diminutive stature who's dependent on the protagonist and her caretaker Sojiro to function socially, and there's nary an interaction with her that isn't made of moe.
      • Haru is downright precious. She's the sweet, soft-spoken Ojou of the Phantom Thieves who has a fondness for gardening, and a very obvious crush on the protagonist.
      • The game's Updated Re-release adds Kasumi Yoshizawa. A gymnast whose interactions with the protagonist almost always involve some manner of Adorkable on her part, such as sneaking up him during a trip to Hawaii with an adorable "Konnichi...WA!". She evens gets flustered if he confesses to her!
      • For a male example, Ryuji Sakamoto. Tragic backstory? Check. Handicap? Check. Upbeat and optimistic attitude? Check. Loves his mom? Check. Keet? Check. He’s also The Heart of the Phantom Thieves.
  • Pikmin: The titular Pikmin are adorable plant-like aliens with big, round eyes and high-pitched voices. They sing childish tunes while following the protagonists, whom they form a strong bond with.
  • Pokémon:
    • Moemon is a Game Mod which replaces all of the Pokémon sprites with moe gijinka. There are varying versions of the moe sprites for different hacks. Some are meant to be female-specific, while others could easily be mistaken for men if not for the gender symbol. A couple are male-specific, sorta, but not many.
    • In the main games, Fennel and Lyra definitely have huggable qualities. And don't forget about poor, klutzy Bianca either (for bonus points, B2W2 makes her a Meganekko!). Rosa, the female character from Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 can surely be considered this as well.
      • Yancy, also from Pokémon BW2, she is so freakin' adorable!
    • Serena, the female PC from Pokémon X and Y. While some people hate her and her male counterpart as rival characters, she becomes very huggable when you watch how saddening it can be when you beat her, considering how she wants to do good.
      • Similarily, the rival Shauna is incredibly cute.
    • Wally from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire is adored by many fans because of his shyness and innocence.
    • Clemont's little sister Bonnie is very much this trope, especially in the anime adaptation.
    • Sun and Moon have some notable examples as well:
      • Lillie, oh so much. Even more so once she changes her entire outfit, as a sign of having escaped her mother's influence on her, which makes her all the more lovable. She can even be a full-on Tsundere if the player gives any snarky responses to her.
      • Acerola, the Ghost-type trial captain and later Elite Four member, very much fits this trope. She is immensely loved for her absolutely adorable appearance, movements in-game (most notably her running animation and her Z-Strike pose), her quirky personality and her friendship with Lillie. She even has a uniquely adorable cat smile.
      • Hau is also very moe. His gigantic appetite and his unconditional kindness towards the player are some of his many cute qualities.
      • Zossie from Ultra Recon squad. Even her profile depicts her in a quirky pose.
    • From Pokémon Sword and Shield, we have:
      • Gloria is a very cute female protagonist. Small wonder that the fanbase quickly took a fancy to her shortly after the first trailer. Soon after the Memetic Mutation, however, she is seen as an awesome Violent Glaswegian instead, but that can be moe in its own right.
      • The Lass trainer class has a cute smile and appearance, especially one Lass in Hulbury who's just chilling with three of her Wooper.
      • The Water-type starter Sobble immediately gained popularity for being "the anxiety Pokémon" who will cry at the drop of a hat — something the internet quickly related to.
      • The resident Normal-type Com Mon, Wooloo. It's a small fluffy sheep with a cute face — what's not to love? Wooloo's design was such a hit that it became a fandom fad and fanart-factory months before the game even came out.
      • Yamper. It's an electric corgi dog! It even has a heart on its butt and a little electric bolt for a tail.
      • Falinks. It's a group of six Waddling Heads that do a little synchronized dance in their Pokémon Camp idle animation! And when they get knocked out, they all tumble over with Wingding Eyes.
      • Snom, a beady-eyed little white grub and ridiculously cute. Its evolution Frosmoth has also gotten quite a lot of love, from a memetic playthrough describing it as "A FLUFFY BUTTERFLY!"
      • After the game's release and the reveal of Marnie as a Kuudere Defrosting Ice Queen with an obvious soft spot for the protagonist, she's become much more adorable in the eyes of the fans as well. While she spends most of the game being The Stoic, she has a scene in the hotel in Motostoke where she practices smiling more, which the protagonist can walk in on, which she then gets very embarrassed at. The whole scene is incredibly endearing.
      • Allister is painfully shy behind his Creepy Child persona. With the mask off, he rivals Wally in terms of adorableness.
      • Piers, the Dark-type Gym and Team Yell Leader resembles a ghost, with bags under his eyes and pale skin, with a typical obviously evil hairdo; but he's actually quite nice and the only Gym Leader to help you in the end game when the ipso facto bad guy is enacting his plan.
      • Poké Kids, now that the trainer class has come back to be in 3D for the first time. They're cute kids wearing hooded onesies of Pikachu (male) or Eevee (female). The girls are particularly well-liked, in no small part thanks to always having a chipper smile even after losing, and animations showing they're actually wagging the tail on their outfit.
  • Psychonauts: Razputin is this with shades of Ugly Cute. His fanboying over the Psychonauts and sheer dedication is adorably endearing. It also helps that Raz's design is more Puni Plush in the next game.
  • Reader Rabbit: Vermina, due to her stirring song about how much she loves the seafaring life and her good-natured refusal to think the worst of her boss's enemies.
  • Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale:
    • Recette, the heroine of the game could only accomplish what she did because she was so lovable. It's even lampshaded in the dialogue. "That girl: something about her inspires people to care."
    • Tielle, the young elf, is just as moe. Whereas other adventurers have a special business card, Tielle's is a picture of her and Recette together. The item description is 'Adorable beyond words.'
  • Resident Evil:
    • In Resident Evil 0, the main protagonist Rebecca Chambers is much tinier in stature than the typical playable characters in the series. She is a young rookie member of the Bravo Team of S.T.A.R.S. who loses her entire team to monsters and then is forced to team up with an actually innocent convict to survive. The two of them persevere and make it out alive in the end, but immediately after they go their separate ways, Rebecca then gets stuck in the Spencer Mansion for the events of Resident Evil, where even more hardships await. Despite everything she goes through between the two games, she remains cheerful, optimistic, and cute throughout it all nonetheless. Her sweet personality (being kind to everyone she meets, even the convict Billy), woobie status, and attractive looks (based on Japanese pop star Ayumi Hamasaki) all work together to make her one of the most Moe characters in the series. Additional points in her favor are that, unlike the series' other protagonists, she does not become a hardened veteran in the fight against bioterrorism, something that tends to make the other protagonists too tough to be considered Moe. She instead decides to become a university professor, although this unfortunately does not keep her away from zombie threats entirely, as shown by Resident Evil: Vendetta.
    • In a rare villainous example, Donna Beneviento from Resident Evil Village is considered this for her Shrinking Violet nature, due to her insecurities making her hide her face and speak through her dolls instead of as herself. Adding to this is that, despite barely getting to see her face, the few glimpses that are given show that she is actually a beautiful young woman in spite of the virus mutation over her right eye. And finally, her traumatic life experiences have caused her to cling to the mentality of a child into adulthood, making many fans feel sorry for her. It's a common response for players to wish that they could have just been a playmate with her rather than have to kill her. However, despite her genuinely having several Moe qualities, too much sympathy for the character falls into Draco in Leather Pants territory, as she still went out of her way to antagonize the player as much as any villain would and also did several horrible things while working with horrible people.
  • Nakoruru and Rimururu of the Samurai Shodown series are very much siblings made of pure concentrated moe. Nakoruru moreso, as she somehow got herself recognition as one of Japan's most moe characters.
    • Interesting fact is that when Samurai Shodown received an OVA, Nakoruru gets to be voiced by the actress who played Mei, as listed in the Live Action TV section (and she also stood in as a live-action version of Nakoruru when there were some advertising to be done). So that means what's already moe, is dialed up to eleven.
  • The girls of Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors are either a combination of this, Fanservice, and/or The Woobie. Genki Girl Xiao Qiao in particular is so moe that Oda Nobunaga, of all people, pats her on the head in the Sengoku ending of Warriors Orochi. (It's All There in the Manual: Apparently she reminds him of his little sister Oichi, who was characterized similarly in the first Samurai Warriors game.)
    • Dynasty Warriors 7, believe it or not, has Xiahou Ba. Cute big puppy eyes, innocent, baby face, and his quotes in battle radiate a sense of naivete.
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice: The fandom describes Wolf as moe due to his unwavering loyalty, his displays of kindness, generosity and empathy, as well as his obliviousness and innocence during certain interactions.
  • Nozomi Okita from Sengoku Rance has the usual Meganekko and School Swimsuit type things going on.
    • From the same game, Kenshin is a moe character when around Rance. The rest of the time, she's the Lady of War.
  • Despite her design, Shantae tends to be portrayed as more moe than not. Her sprite work was pretty cute already in the first game, but starting with Risky's Revenge, her default facial expression in character artwork was changed to a bright-eyed, cheerful smile, having the side effect of making her a lot cuter and less sultry. Later games continued to up the animesque stylings of the art style, making Shantae even more adorable in the process.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog:
    • Cream the Rabbit is a sweet, innocent little girl who usually acts as the "cute little sister" of the group. When push comes to shove, though, she can fight as competently as anyone else.
    • Sonic himself (before and after his redesign from Sonic Adventure onwardsnote ) is quite cheerful and cute, despite being well-capable of protecting himself.
    • For that matter, both the pre-note , and post-Adventure versions of Tails, with his dorkiness and cheerful personality also qualifies.
  • Talim, Amy, and Xianghua from Soulcalibur. Tira could be viewed as moe if you like Yanderes.
    • Pyrrha joins the list in Soul Calibur V, although many players have griped that she comes across as forced.
  • Stage 5-D of Space Invaders Extreme 2 has, in the background, UFO-CO, a cute girl dressed in an alien-like costume.
  • Splatoon:
    • The Inklings and Octolings in general have adorable designs that make many fans see them as Moe.
    • Marina from Splatoon 2 is seen as especially adorable, due to both her cutesy looks and anxious Naïve Newcomer personality.
  • Spyro Reignited Trilogy:
    • Elora's redesign has drawn this reaction as well as her "I'm a faun, you dork" dialogue, which has been made more playful.
    • Bianca may look just about the same, but her more rabbitlike features and the much greater advances in animation make her a great deal cuter than she originally was. Hearts might melt when she holds her own ear like a teddy bear while the Sorceress announces her true intentions.
  • Stardew Valley: Penny is a kind-hearted red-haired girl with a cutesy design who likes reading books in the Pelican Town library, being gifted artifacts, and acting as an unofficial School Marm to the two local children. She's one of the most popular choices for a romance option among the player base as a result.
  • Super Robot Wars Alpha 2: Ibis Douglas. She's not as moeblob obvious like Kusuha, but she actually became the champion of moe characters in the SaiMoe RPG 2006 contest. Maybe it had something to do with her Pettanko status; or her Captain Crash tendencies; or her love for cheesecake...
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate:
    • Zelda's A Link to the Past/A Link Between Worlds redesign in Ultimate makes her looks really expressive and adorable.
    • Isabelle, just as in her home series, is adorable and her reveal trailer exploits it for all it's worth. Sakurai himself essentially made sure her animations would be as cute as possible.
    • The female Pokémon Trainer is considered one of the cutest characters in the game. Her voice and in-battle animations make her come across as more innocent and cheery than her male counterpart, and her interactions with her Pokémon (two of which are Badass Adorable in their own right) are even cuter, especially in her victory poses. Many players find her to be lovable in her own right especially given that neither Trainer can be controlled directly except on the World of Light map.
    • For Assist Trophy characters: Nikki from Swapnote could hold a candle to Isabelle. Many fans are quite glad that they can't hurt her.
    • Pyra and Mythra! While Pyra is more confident and competitive here she's just as lovable and endearing as ever, and Mythra is... well, Mythra, but her cockiness, sassiness and cuteness all manage to shine through in Smash.
  • No matter how much Zelos disputed in the Gummi-Skits, Colette Brunel from Tales of Symphonia is moe.
  • Them's Fightin' Herds:
    • Pom is a shy and nervous little lamb with an adorable Scottish accent. She doesn't want to fight, so whenever she's in a round she is constantly scared and shaking, only making her more precious. Being a Fluttershy expy helps, too.
    • The cheery, affectionate, and exciteable Paprika counts too. If you can look past her psychotic nature.
  • Threads of Fate: Carefree, cute, innocent Elena.
  • In the Touhou Project fandom, almost every character could be portrayed as one due to nearly all of them being Cute Monster Girls that have just enough personality in game to have plenty of Alternative Character Interpretations. For example:
    • Many jokes have been made about Yuyuko Saigyouji's power of absolute mastery of death and moe. Or killing you off by her overwhelming moe-ness.
    • The recent fighting game where Suwako makes her appearance has taken the fanbase by storm with her moe, especially her animations.
      • For example. Yes, she is flapping her arms as she tries to fly. Adorable, isn't it?
    • A-hem. Yuuka Kazami is the original youkai moe~. You wouldn't be forgetting about her, would you?
      • The meme of Yuka being called "youkai moe" is actually from Word of God, but it also should be mentioned that Yuka is a flower youkai, and the literal meaning of moe is budding or sprouting (ie as a flower). Therefore, Yuka is less of an example and more of a victim of a bad Pun most English speakers won't get.
      • Make way for Kogasa, the new Youkai Moe~. How can you say no to a face like this? It's even stated in canon.
    • Chen (also known as CHEEEEEEEN!!) is also a notable example, existing mostly to be as adorable as possible.
    • The sixth game in the series is absolutely LOADED with moe. In order of appearance, Reimu, Marisa, Rumia (if you can get past her... non-moe traits), Daiyousei, Cirno, Meiling, Koakuma, Patchouli, Sakuya, Remilia, and Flandre. The fans particularly love Reimu, Marisa, Rumia, Patchy, and Flan.
    • Koishi Komeiji is often portrayed in both the canon and fandom as being a lovable Cheerful Child, and while her appearance can give off this vibe, her actual back-story makes her more of The Woobie.
    • Hata no Kokoro, is sometimes treated as one in fandom, for being fairly young by Yokai standards, and also being the "Expressive Poker Face".
    • Mononobe no Futo is Adorkable and a Strange-Syntax Speaker. Her popularity made her a playable character for Hopeless Masquerade and Urban Legend in Limbo.
  • Trinity Universe: Miyu. She's a talented Starving Artist who is supporting her family. She is shy and uncertain. She wears A-Rank Zettai Ryouiki. And she's a Cat Girl, complete with ears and tail.
  • Valkyria Chronicles resident Moe Isara Gunther is also the squads tank operator, making her and her brother the most powerful unit in the entire game.
  • The title character of Wadanohara is extremely moe. Too bad the whole universe is conspiring to break her.
  • Wick (2020): For many players, Wick is one of the most adorable little anthropomorphic candles that you ever did see, with his beady black eyes, tiny limbs, plump body and absolute determination to bring back the light. It really helps make the player want to root for and protect him, especially considering how grim and gothic the rest of the game is.
  • The World Ends with You:
    • Rhyme is an incredibly adorable Nice Girl who is nothing but cheerful, optimistic, and supportive of the other Players, especially Beat. Even her Noise form is a Ridiculously Cute Critter.
    • Shiki is an Adorkable fashionista who is the nicest and most sociable of Neku's three partners, and she becomes even more endearing once she is revealed to be a Shrinking Violet.
    • Some of the shopkeepers in the game are also quite adorable as well, especially when they start to open up to, and develop crushes on, Neku. Princess K and Shigemi Konno are two particular examples.
    • Neku himself has been described to be this due to his rare instances of emotional vulnerability and Defrosting Ice King moments. The anime even increases this factor due to the artstyle making him look even more adorable.
  • Xenoblade Chronicles:
    • Xenoblade Chronicles 2:
      • Poppi is a cute, lovable Robot Girl whose loyal, childish personality and inexplicably American-accented Nopon speech make her a very endearing character. As she evolves into her QT and then her QTpi form, her appearance becomes less "cutesy" and more "sexy" but she keeps the same base personality and stays firmly within this trope. Her "sister" Lila also firmly falls into this trope after being rescued from her brainwashing, caring deeply about Poppi and being excited to see her succeed and get upgraded.
      • Pyra is a sweet, kindhearted and adorable girl and one of the most lovable and sympathetic characters in the game. While Mythra is a bit more prickly, she isn't without her moments of this either (moe and tsundere traits go hand in hand, after all).
    • Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna ~ The Golden Country: While Mythra had shades of this in the main game, her dynamic here with the rest of the traveling group makes her come across as very cute, like a bratty but well-meaning and caring child.
    • Xenoblade Chronicles 3:
      • Mio's Cute Kitten traits, including her Expressive Ears, spirited yet friendly and welcoming personality, adorable Welsh accent in the English dub, and her courage in the face of her incoming demise and her past traumas, all make her very endearing to players.
      • Taion is declared by many Japanese fans to be the most moe character in the game due to the wide gulf between his outwardly stoic behavior and his true personality as someone who is deeply caring and nurturing (a popular example being his excited reaction to seeing a newborn), which is considered very "gap moe". Likewise, other traits like his terrible cooking, frequent tsundere moments, tendency to be teased by other characters, easily-flustered, Adorkable nature, and his Trademark Favorite Food being the same as Pyra'snote  are seen as evocative of past franchise heroines like Pyra and Mythra, who were also known for having heavy moe appeal, resulting in the Japanese fanbase in-joke that he's the true heroine of 3 over Mio.
      • Sena is an easy candidate, as on the surface, she's kooky and bubbly, but underneath it all, she's shy and suffering. The fact that her design is pleasant on the eyes makes her even more endearing in this regard.
      • Fiona is a cute and sweet young Commander of Colony Mu who wears a Sailor Fuku like a schoolgirl. She also goes through much suffering yet still maintains her innocence and grows stronger from her experience.
      • Many of the new monster species are designed to resemble real-life animals in cute ways that cause players to regret fighting them if they can help it. Amonies are giant anemone-like creatures with friendly smiling faces, and then there's the Ottils, adorable and friendly Playful Otters who will cheerfully leap out of the water to crack seashells on their bellies. An NPC who gives a quest requiring Ottil item drops even lampshades the unpleasantness of having to fight them because of their cuteness. Even some of the monsters from previous Xenoblade games that were already considered at least somewhat cute — such as the rabbit-like Bunnits and capybara-like Kapibas — are made even cuter with improved fur textures.
Sena: Oh my sparks, the cutes!
    • Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed: Nikol's diminutive appearance, shy and awkward demeanor, and kindhearted nature, along with his natural helplessness from being unable to summon a Blade which he is nevertheless able to make up for with his own ingenuity, causes many players want to hug and protect him, or depict the characters around him doing so.
  • Yandere Simulator: Oka Ruto. She is soft-spoken, and seems to be very lonely despite being the president of the Occult Club, to the point that it can apparently run just fine whether or not she ever shows up. If Ayano joins the Occult Club, she is surprised, but very clearly happy and hopeful. If the player should later quit the club she sounds very hurt, and will reject them if they try to rejoin because she's been burned once and doesn't want to be hurt again.
  • Zniw Adventure:
    • Zniw herself. Her design is just adorable, with her rounded body, large eyes, and tiny eyelashes. Her various facial expressions are so cute to look at, especially her smiles. Even though she can be snarky and have a bit of an attitude, she is still an innocent youth, and she can be very caring towards others when the time is right.
    • Sam the snake is a cheerful and friendly little guy. It helps that he's a rare inversion of Snakes Are Sinister: a snake who is 100% good and pure-hearted.
    • The small Albertonykus in the Western District of Fungilla. When you first see him, he's doing a happy dance and singing (indicated by music notes coming from his head.) When Zniw talks to the Albertonykus, he says he's happy because the Healer just cured his cold. But then, he suddenly realizes that now that he's better, he'll have to go back to work. He slumps down adorably and stares off into space.
    • Tra is an adult, unlike what this trope usually implies, but her acts of kindness to Zniw make her very lovable. She acts so sweet and motherly to her. It helps that, as a Nothronychus, she's so fluffy (well, technically "feathery," but still.)
    • Aira, the chief's young daughter. She's a little dino girl with fluffy hair.
