Jarilo-VI

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_5321.png
Once a lush, green paradise, the planet Jarilo-VI has been locked in a perpetual ice age called the "Eternal Freeze" for the last seven hundred years following a devastating invasion of the Antimatter Legion. In the aftermath, the entire planet has been rendered uninhabitable save for the city of Belobog, the last bastion of its civilization. Under the guidance of the Supreme Guardian, currently Cocolia Rand, eighteenth of her title, and the Architects who follow Qlipoth, the Aeon of Preservation, the people of Belobog live their lives weathering out the cold while also fighting off the encroaching Fragmentum corrosion.

    General Tropes
  • Applied Phlebotinum: Geomarrow is an orange-colored ore largely found underneath Belobog, mined for their heat-inducing properties, thus making it a critical resource for keeping the Furnace Core burning and preventing the Eternal Freeze from reaching Belobog. Geomarrow trade between the Underworld and the Overworld is so important for the survival of humanity that it's the only link kept active after Cocolia ordered the Underworld to be sealed off. Or so the human populace believes. According to Svarog, while the Core does generate heat, its actual output isn't even remotely close to what is needed to protect Belobog. The science simply doesn't add up, so he concludes some other factor is holding back the cold. This contributes to his decision to take over the mine; since the Core doesn't actually help in any meaningful way, cutting off the supply of Geomarrow shouldn't pose any actual threat to humanity's survival.
  • Badass Family: The Landau family is a long line of distinguished military officers, such as their distant ancestor Rhonda, who fought the Fragmentum for four days and nights without stopping. You even get the achievement "In the Name of Landau" for winning a battle with Serval, Gepard, and Lynx in the same team.
  • Crapsack World: The entire planet is frozen, and besieged by monsters. The last bastion of humanity isn't exactly the definition of utopia either. Those who live in the Underworld are poverty-stricken, and are forced to resort to desperate measures to survive, especially since the Overworld government abruptly cut off access between for, in their eyes, no reason.
  • Fantasy Counterpart Culture: Belobog generally appears to be a northern European industrial city with a strong Russian/Slavic influence, as it is not only named after a Slavic god, several charactersnote  bear Slavic names or are Expies of Russian nationals from Honkai Impact 3rd. There also appears to be some mix of elements from Russia's neighbors, such as Sampo's name being Finnish in origin, and Seele, whose HI3 counterpart is Estonian.
  • Glacial Apocalypse: Jarilo-VI is subjected to a seven-century-long global ice age called the Eternal Freeze, turning the entire planet uninhabitable save for the city of Belobog, which is barely sustained by the heat of Geomarrow ores. By the end of its associated Trailblaze Mission, despite the Astral Express crew defeating Cocolia and successfully sealing the Stellaron that was corrupting her and caused the calamity, its aftereffects still linger, and according to Welt, a full recovery may take an unfathomably long time, if at all.
  • Grew Beyond Their Programming:
    • In "Rarely Affectionate", the Trailblazer and Clara come across a malfunctioning robot named Pascal. After further investigation, they discover that Pascal is the reason Rivet Town remains in such good shape despite having been abandoned to Fragmentum monsters for several years. Reading Pascal's diary shows the robot progressing from simple status reports, to expressing emotions, to even forming personal opinions. Clara later informs Svarog that Pascal is the only other robot she has met capable of having emotions, causing her to value Pascal. Unfortunately, Pascal's emotions are the result of unstable mutations in Pascal's damaged code (implied to be from Fragmentum corrosion), so Clara is forced to make a Sadistic Choice as to whether to Mercy Kill Pascal or risk an increasingly unstable robot causing trouble. Even if she picks the former, several other robots in the network will somehow inherit Pascal's feelings.
    • After "Jolted Awaken from a Winter Dream", talking to Svarog will have him say that he receives a message from Screwllum. According to him, for reasons even he does not really understand, a rare phenomenon that causes robots to develop the spark of life is slowly starting to happen to the robots of Jarilo-VI, when they were otherwise built as mere tools. Screwllum might've been referring to either Svarog himself, or Pascal above.
    • At one point, the Trailblazer encounters a pair of robots enjoying TV, when they shouldn't be similar enough to humans to care.
  • Heir Club for Men: Inverted. Not only are all of Belobog’s Supreme Guardians female, the heiress is usually selected not by birthright but through adoption among young girls, who is then educated in politics, economy, and military affairs to succeed her adoptive mother.
  • Humongous Mecha: The final project of the first Supreme Guardian was the Engine of Creation, an enormous robot with two purposes: Firstly, as their ultimate weapon to stop the Antimatter Legion's invasion, and secondly, to perform massive construction projects, including repairing Jarilo-VI's ecology. In the main story, Cocolia gets to command it using the frozen lance of Alisa Rand, but after it becomes the Trailblazer's lance after awakening the power of Preservation, the Engine of Creation becomes theirs to control. Later in Traiblaze Continuance's story, it isn't until after Belobog is reconnected to the outside world that they rediscover the second purpose and start working on completing the machine.
  • Improbable Self-Maintenance: The playable characters who live in Belobog's Underworld are often ludicrously well-kept for living in an underground mining town where even medical supplies can be scarce. While Sampo's case can be justified due to his access to the Overworld as well as having the ability to leave the planet, the same cannot be said for others, with Seele having no trouble keeping her long, pale, skirt-tails spotless even with her frequent battles and Clara traversing the mines in bare feet and a red jacket without signs of dirt or injury.
  • Land of One City: Due to the Eternal Freeze and the Architects fortifying the city, Belobog effectively became the last bastion of Jarilo-VI's civilization, with every other town and city on the planet being abandoned to the fierce snowstorm.
  • Liberty Over Prosperity: According to the IPC, the Architects that decided to stay and take their chances as the planet started getting cut off from civilization 700 years ago took out a loan from the IPC to build Belobog's fortifications. It was supposed to have been repaid over a 2 century period, but the disaster escalated faster than expected. The contract doesn't make any allowances for the disaster, resulting in a huge interest penalty. The IPC representative, Topaz, gives them a choice: If they sign her contract, they get prosperity. The IPC will repossess the planet and turn its citizens into employees in One Nation Under Copyright. In return, the debt will be forgiven, and the IPC will guarantee their future by repairing the planet's ecology. If they refuse, they keep their freedom for the time being, but risk getting crushed by a war with the IPC. Even if there is no war, they will mostly be on their own for repairing their planet. On this, the population is evenly dividednote : While a few in the Overworld resent being pushed around, most Overworlders support the guarantee of prosperity. Funnily enough, the Underworlders, who have been forced to live with uncertainty for years, prefer liberty, with Natasha saying that those who are willing to trade liberty for prosperity will inevitably lose both. Indeed, rebuilding a dead planet is a tall order even for the IPC, and even Topaz only has an 80% success rate. Bronya persuades Topaz that Belobog can potentially rebuild themselves without her help via the Humongous Mecha the first Supreme Guardian left behind, and will pay back the debt slowly. Topaz, a Reasonable Authority Figure, agrees, even if her superiors are less than happy with her decision.
  • Lost Colony: Jarilo-VI was previously connected to the interstellar travel network and was even allied with the Interastral Peace Corporation. However, the dual disasters of the Antimatter Legion invasion and the arrival of a Stellaron caused most of the IPC and other visitors to flee. With the Stellaron cutting off travel and communication, the IPC simply assumed Jarilo-VI was completely depopulated and no help was ever sent. The isolation brought about by the Eternal Freeze also had a side effect of regressing its civilization's technological level to below the galaxy's standards in what they call "Old World technology," which is closer to steampunk in aesthetic, to the point that modern Belobogians are unfamiliar with smartphones and had to be reintroduced to them following the end of the Stellaron-corrupted Cocolia's reign as Supreme Guardian.
  • Monster in the Ice: The snow plains surrounding Belobog contain loads and loads of frozen Antimatter Legion soldiers, stopped in their tracks when the Stellaron brought the Eternal Freeze onto the planet.
  • Numbered Homeworld: To the outside world, their planet is called Jarilo-VI. The natives have long forgotten that name, and if they refer to their home world as anything, they usually refer to it by the same name as their last surviving city, Belobog.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: One young man named Norbert under Sampo's misguidance decides to make it big by going into organized crime. He starts stealing Museum exhibits and selling them to wealthy collectors. By the time the jig is up, his crimes include stealing cultural relics, Impersonating an Officer (a very severe crime in Belobog) and violently resisting arrest. He is seen on the street again not long after, expressing shame that his uncle, one of the ministers, got him out of trouble.
  • Superweapon Surprise: In "Future Market II" Trailblaze Continuance mission, Svarog mentions that the Architects and the IPC left behind a massive Automaton factory underneath Belobog near Rivet Town, which contains a massive armada of Automatons capable of fighting off the Antimatter Legion. However, said Automatons were never activated because no one in the planet had any knowledge on operating them after the IPC left.
  • Underground City: Belobog is actually two cities in one. On the surface is the Overworld, where the seat of government is located and where majority of the populace lives. Directly below is the Underworld, a massive underground mining colony whose primary purpose is to extract the Geomarrow Belobog relies on to stay warm.
  • Urban Segregation: The Underworld is where lower-class citizens typically live, while the Overworld is inhabited by the middle- to upper-class. This segregation is more pronounced due to the blockade policy that Cocolia enacted for about a decade.
  • Whole-Plot Reference:
    • To Frostpunk. Belobog is the sole surviving city in a brutal global ice age that shows no signs of stopping, and the only way to stave off the cold is for the inhabitants to mine resources to keep the Furnace Core powered. Belobog likewise has been reduced to a steampunk level of technology, and makes liberal use of automatons for labor. Meanwhile, scavengers roam the frozen wastes looking for resources and valuables, and the snow also hides ancient, lost technology. Just about the only thing the two IPs differ on is that Belobog has to deal with extradimensional invaders encroaching on the city.
    • Thematically, Belobog resonates greatly with Metropolis. The last city in the world, divided into an affluent above-ground city (Belobog in Star Rail, Metropolis itself) and the underground workers' city (Boulder Town, The Worker's City), whose status quo is disrupted when someone from the underground (Sampo, Maria) takes the heir to the city's ruler (Bronya, Freder) with them. Seeing how miserable conditions are, Bronya chooses to unite the two cities again, but progress is impeded by a robot (Svarog, the False Maria). There are a lot of differences in context and execution, but it still has many similarities.

Rarity: 5★
Path: The Harmony
Type: Wind

Daughter and heir apparent of Cocolia Rand, and commander of the Silvermane Guards, the elite defense force of the city, who carries herself with the grace expected of her station. Cool and collected, Bronya has dedicated her life and being to the safety of Belobog, and above all, the will of the Supreme Guardian. However, when the Astral Express becomes entangled with her, Bronya begins to question all she has been taught to believe in, especially once she begins to explore the world around her.

Bronya rallies her allies to a swift victory with her Technique, Banner of Command, which boosts the party's Attack for the first two turns of battle; her Skill, Combat Redeployment, which immediately brings forward the turn of one ally (unless used on herself) and boosts their damage output for one turn, as well as removes a debuff from them; and her Ultimate, The Belobog March, which boosts the party's Attack and Critical Damage for two turns. Additionally, her Talent Leading the Way advances her turn whenever she shoots at her foes with her Basic Attack, Windrider Bullet.note
  • Alternate Self: of Bronya Zaychik from Honkai Impact 3rd, specifically from the "A Post Honkai Odyssey" arc. Notably, she's considerably more emotional than the almost robotic HI3 self, due to the latter suffering from brain damage caused by an experiment in the past.
  • Amplifier Artifact: By acquiring her Eidolons, you can unlock her third and fifth Eidolon Resonances, Bombardment' and Unstoppable'', which will add two levels to her Ultimate and Talent with the former, and two her Skill and one to Basic Attack with the latter.
  • Antagonistic Offspring: A heroic example. Towards the end of the Jarilo-VI Trailblaze Mission, Bronya defies her adoptive mother Cocolia and helps the Astral Express and Seele put a stop to her Stellaron-addled madness. There is even an Achievement for Bronya dealing the deathblow against Cocolia's boss form, a punny "Et Tu, Bronya?".
  • Bayonet Ya: Two blades are affixed to Bronya's musket, though she never uses them to stab enemies in gameplay.
  • Bling of War: She wears a heavily-decorated dress uniform into battle with no problems. The fact she mainly fights from afar with her rifle probably helps.
  • Broken Pedestal: She used to greatly respect Cocolia not just as her mother, but as the Supreme Guardian. However, this image is later shattered when she finds out Cocolia was corrupted by the Stellaron and no longer cares about protecting Belobog. But despite Cocolia's monstrous actions, Bronya still loves Cocolia and is visibly pleased if you choose to call her a good woman who went down the wrong path.
  • Cooldown Manipulation: Her Talent brings forward Bronya's next action by 15–37.5% whenever she uses her Basic Attack.
  • Critical Hit Class: Relative to her fellow Harmony Pathstriders, Bronya specializes on this trope on two levels. First, when building a team around Bronya, her kit incentivizes players to build her teammates this way, as her Ultimate buffs all allies' Attack and Critical Damage for two turns. The way her Ultimate scales, however, also heavily encourages building Bronya herself into a straightforward example. While her Ultimate's Attack buff is static and only scales with Trace levels, the Critical Damage buff partially scales with Bronya's own Critical Damage. In addition, her second-ascension Bonus Ability, Command, guarantees that her Basic Attack will always be critical hits. As a result, players are encouraged to heavily invest in her Critical Damage and can completely forgo any investment in her Critical Rate.
  • Death Glare: If her Skill is used on herself, Bronya will shoot out a fierce, determined glare towards the screen (which is directed towards the offscreen enemies) after her usual musket flourishing. Though since she cannot immediately act again by using her skill this way, you'll rarely see this in normal circumstances.
  • The Fettered: Starts as an uncompromising commander who wants to follow the Supreme Guardian's orders through to the end. After it's revealed she has been lied to by Cocolia, she decides to put the needs of the people above orders and confronts her.
  • Foil: Bronya is this to Seele. Both of them are kindhearted, headstrong women who want Belobog and its people to thrive. Bronya is the prim-and-proper heir to the position of Supreme Guardian and the unquestioning leader of the Silvermane Guards. Seele is a rough-and-tumble member of the grassroots police force Wildfire. When circumstances bring the two together, they quickly butt heads over their respective ideologies despite both of them wanting the same thing.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: As a guest assistant during the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities" event, despite being one of the most well-educated people in Belobog, Bronya's Educational Value stat is a mediocre 23 of 100, in contrast to 48 points for Tour Duration and 85 for Visitor Appeal, both reflecting her work ethic and charisma. Presumably, the guests are too busy being starstruck talking to the Supreme Guardian herself to actually learn anything.
  • The Gunslinger: She fights with a decorated musket in battle.
  • Heel Realization: She at first did not question Cocolia's decision to blockade travel between the Overworld and Underworld and thought it was the best course of action to protect Belobog. However, it's not until she actually travels to the Underworld that she finds out just how bad things have gotten down there due to the blockade and resolves to undo it.
  • Invocation:
(Ultimate activation) "We've entered the storm."
(Normal speed and ×2 speed) "To guard and defend, crush them!"
  • Klingon Promotion: She assumes the role of Supreme Guardian after being forced to kill Cocolia. Not that everyone in Belobog, save Seele, know this truth, as they had to cover it with the "official story" that Cocolia died stopping the Stellaron's influence.
  • Long Hair Is Feminine: Fittingly for what is effectively Belobog's princess in all but name, Bronya has long waist-length hair that ends in large Ojou Ringlets.
  • Mirror Match: If you have Bronya in your roster and want to have her fight her boss self in story missions, the Simulated Universe, or the Forgotten Hall, go ahead, the game won't stop you. There's even an achievement for using Bronya's ultimate in such a Mirror Match or against Cocolia/Gepard.
  • Misfit Mobilization Moment: They're only "misfits" relative to the IPC, but in Trailblaze Continuance Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream, around the climax, she mobilized the people of Belobog, Overworlder and Underworlder alike, to join their efforts to "preserve their future" against the threat of the IPC taking over their world by working on the rebuilding of Engine of Creation, to show their representative Topaz that the people of Jarilo-VI can rebuild their world eventually.
  • Moment of Weakness: In Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream, as many board members have a heated debate in front of her over how to resolve the issue with IPC's debt repayment, she snaps and almost gives in to the pressure to sign the contract before Himeko steps in to give critical information and indirectly convince her to refuse the contract. After the mission ends, you can talk to her about this, saying that she should reflect on that moment and become stronger-willed in the future.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Her weapon being a rifle and her serving in a military organization is a nod to how Bronya Zaychik used to be a sniper rifle-wielding mercenary.
    • While her design is largely derived from Bronya Zaychik's adult self, her big earrings harken back to the Guns GirlZ version of Bronya (which HI3rd also references).
    • Her relation with Cocolia is also this: In both games, she is Bronya's adopted mother. But back in HI3rd, Bronya was taken by Cocolia out of her mercenary ways and into the latter's orphanage, where Bronya met Seele and befriended her; here, Cocolia adopted her out of the orphanage (which was owned by Natasha) and into a military heir club, separating her from Seele until more than a decade later.
  • Noble Top Enforcer: As the commander of the Silvermane Knights and the next-in-line to become Supreme Guardian, Bronya is Cocolia's highest-ranking enforcer and right hand. She immediately moves to seize the Astral Express crew on Cocolia's orders without question, even considering insults toward Cocolia to be a crime. But Bronya is motivated by a desire to protect all of Belobog and is aghast to learn of the plight of the Underworlders after Sampo kidnaps her and brings her there alongside the Trailblazers.
  • Ojou Ringlets: The hair running down her back curls into these, fitting for someone possessing a dignified, ladylike air with upper-class upbringing like her.
  • Out-of-Turn Interaction: Her fourth Eidolon Resonance, Taken by Surprise, allows her to perform a follow-up attack (taking form of her Basic Attack, with damage worth 80% of her Attack stat) once in between her turns whenever any of her allies use a Basic Attack on an enemy weak to Wind.
  • Pen-Pushing President: Following Bronya's ascent as Supreme Guardian, looking around her office reveals stacks of paperwork as tall as, if not taller than, the desks they're placed next to. Workers nearby remark that all these papers require the Supreme Guardians' signature, meaning Bronya has a lot of paperwork ahead of her.
  • The Power of Legacy: After Cocolia is defeated, Bronya realizes that if word got out that Cocolia was corrupted by the Stellaron, that would destroy not just her reputation, but also the credibility of the office of the Supreme Guardian. In order to ensure Belobog's stability, Bronya tells a white lie that Cocolia sacrificed herself to seal the Stellaron, painting her as a hero that Belobog can rally around.
  • Pretty Princess Powerhouse: As heir apparent to Cocolia, she is described as possessing the pride of a princess, but also the professionalism of a soldier.
  • Proper Lady: Being adopted by Cocolia gave her access to the finest education available to Belobog's upper class, as well as several Lessons in Sophistication to prepare her for her role as the future Supreme Guardian.
  • Rags to Royalty: Midway through the Jarilo-VI Trailblaze Mission, while visiting an abandoned orphanage in Rivet Town which Natasha used to run, she remembers that she was an orphan who once lived there until she was adopted by Cocolia to become her successor.
  • Redemption Demotion: Averted Trope. When Bronya is fought as a boss and when she reappears alongside her mother in Simulated Universe World 6, Bronya has access to her playable version's Skill, Combat Redeployment. In player hands, this Skill's function is completely unchanged and is exactly as potent.
  • Regenerating Mana: Her first Eidolon Resonance, Hone Your Strength, gives her Skill a 50% chance to recover one Skill Point (with a one-turn cooldown).
  • Secret A.I. Moves: Her boss fight form has access to Suppressive Fire, a powerful single-target attack that also delays the target's turn, though in exchange she doesn't have access to her playable form's Ultimate.
  • Simple, yet Awesome: Her Skill removes a debuff from an ally, boosts their damage and automatically advances their turn, while her Ultimate is a simple buff to the party's Attack and Critical Damage stats, but these things combine ridiculously well to make her a highly potent support.
  • Shoot the Mage First:
    • Defied in her boss fight. After she summons some Silvermane Guards, her Toughness Gauge will be blocked until all of her troops are defeated, so you have to deal with them first instead of her.
    • In Simulated Universe, boss Cocolia can summon Bronya to aid her in the 2nd phase. In Bronya's normal battle, all she supports (with her Skill) are normal footsoldiers, but here, Cocolia becomes extra deadly with Bronya's support. Simply giving more turns for Cocolianote  (and cleansing her debuffs and cancelling her Weakness Broken state, as the cherry on top) already makes her more dangerous, but this ability allows Cocolia to launch her strongest attack more quickly, often without much chance for you to interrupt or defend against it. Thus, defeating Bronya first will make Cocolia easier to deal with. Although, there is an achievement you can get if you can defeat Cocolia without defeating Bronya first.
  • Sliding Scale of Gameplay and Story Integration: By the end of the Jarilo-VI arc, Bronya and Seele become Vitriolic Best Buds, if not outright True Companions. Bronya's Skill can immediately bring forward Seele's turn, in addition to increasing her damage for one turn, which is enough for the latter to deal massive damage to bosses and/or finish off up to twonote  enemies.
  • Status Buff:
    • Her Skill immediately brings forward the target ally's turn (unless used on herself), removes one debuff, and boosts their damage output by 33–82.5% for that turn. Her second Eidolon Resonance, Quick March, allows the Skill to confer a 30% Speed buff to the affected ally for one turn after they took action, and her sixth, Piercing Rainbow, extends the duration of the damage boost to two turns.
    • Her Ultimate boosts the party's Attack (by 33%–59.4%) and Critical Damage (by 12%–21.6% plus 12%–16.8% of Bronya's own) for the next two turns
    • Her Technique boosts the party's Attack by 15% for the first two turns of the next battle.
    • Her fourth-ascension Bonus Ability, Battlefield, boosts the party's Defense by 20% for the first two turns of battle, while that for her sixth, Military Might, adds a 10% boost to their damage output whenever she is on the field.
  • True Blue Femininity: As Cocolia's adopted daughter and appointed successor, Bronya is effectively Belobog's princess in all but name. Fittingly enough, her gun and outfit have bright blue highlights.
  • Weapon Specialization: Bronya's associated Light Cone is "But the Battle Isn't Over" (5★), whose "Heir" passive increases its wearer's Energy Regeneration Rate by 10–18% and restores a Skill Point whenever they use their Ultimate on an ally, triggered after every two uses of said Ultimate, in addition to increasing the damage output of the next ally to take action after they used their Skill by 30–50%, hence allowing her to use her Ultimate more often (which will help in recovering SP) as well as further boosts her allies enhanced with her Skill.
  • What's Up, King Dude?: Bronya can be recruited as a guest assistant for the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities" limited-time event. She also gets to assess Seele as a guest assistant, even though you previously had Pela (or Hook, in Clara's case) to help assessing new assistants.

    Cocolia (Unmarked Spoilers)

Cocolia Rand

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/enemy_cocolia_mother_of_deception.png
Cocolia, Mother of Deception
Voiced by: Mufei (Chinese), Misa Katō (Japanese), Heather Gonzalez (English)

Eighteenth and incumbent Supreme Guardian of Belobog and mother of Bronya.

Her Mother of Deception form can be refought as an Echo of War.

  • Adaptational Badass: Cocolia of HI3rd was The Unfought and a normal human being (physically, that is) compared to the playable characters. This Cocolia is a supreme military leader and a very formidable fighter.
  • Adaptational Villainy: While the Cocolia of HI3rd is also villainous despite her well-intentions, she otherwise had limits and stopped herself before she went too far, and got willingly put into the brig for her transgressions. This Cocolia, however, is so corrupted by the Stellaron that she comes to believe that the only salvation of Belobog is through destruction, and she has to be fought to the death.
  • Alternate Self: of Cocolia of Honkai Impact 3rd, complete with the same voice actor.
  • Arc Villain: She's the main antagonist of the Jarilo-VI storyline.
  • Bait the Dog: Despite the Astral Express crew's unpleasant first encounter with the Silvermane Guards, Cocolia seems like a straightforward Reasonable Authority Figure when they finally meet her, as she hears them out and seems fully onboard with their quest to destroy the Jarilo-VI Stellaron. The moment they leave, she becomes unsettled and has a conversation with an unseen entity, and sure enough, she frames the crew and sends Bronya to arrest them the very next day.
  • Broken Ace: She graduated at the top of her class at the Belobog Military Academy, is a charismatic leader beloved by almost all of Belobog, and is the first of the Supreme Guardians to launch an effective counterattack against the Fragmentum. However, Cocolia has been haunted by the Stellaron ever since she took up the post of Supreme Guardian. Its influence gradually broke down her mind in tandem with the pressure of leading Belobog in a Crapsack World. By the events of the story, she's become a thoroughly misanthropic Omnicidal Maniac, but she still manages to cling to her love for her daughter, Bronya.
  • Broken Bird: Cocolia was once a warm-hearted and idealistic woman. But years of being tempted by the Stellaron amidst the stress and hopelessness of leading her people in a Crapsack World wore her down until she became the cynical misanthrope she is in the present as she succumbed to the Stellaron's whispers. By the time she's fought, she's ranting and raving about how her world is doomed to destruction regardless of what anyone does. Later, when the Trailblazer meets with the "spirit" of the past Guardians in a vision, the latter doesn't judge Cocolia for her madness, saying that it was only a matter of time until a Supreme Guardian broke under the sheer pressure.
  • Dual Wielding: She dual wields lances made of ice in battle.
  • Dying as Yourself: Heavily implied in her final moments, as she flashes a warm and sincere smile to Bronya before she fades away, finally being free of the Stellaron's influence.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: While she is the main villain of her arc, the Trailblazer's dreams reveal she did genuinely love Bronya as her daughter as she fell into a frenzy when she disappeared and showers her with concern when she returns. Unfortunately, the Stellaron used this to its advantage to manipulate her into going through with their plans to destroy humanity. Even when Cocolia is at her lowest point, she continues to hope that Bronya will stand with her in the "new world" the Stellaron will create until Bronya refuses her.
  • Evil Former Friend: To Serval. However, Serval ultimately never learns the truth behind Cocolia and the Stellaron thanks to Bronya and Seele and simply believes that Cocolia sacrificed herself for the greater good.
  • Evil Running Good: The Jarilo-VI Architects and Silvermane Guards are a whole heap of Hero Antagonists who are genuinely dedicated to defending Belobog; the only corrupt member during the Jarilo-VI arc is Cocolia herself, who manipulates her underlings into coming into conflict with the heroes to get them off the Stellaron's trail.
  • Fallen Hero: She was once a warm and caring woman during her youth, but contact with the Stellaron turned the once-promising Supreme Guardian into a cold and calculating omnicidal ruler.
  • Flunky Boss: She can summon "Ice Edges" to her side. Each of them will deal small Ice DMG in an AOE each turn. As Mother of Deception, she can summon their stronger variant, "Lances of Eternal Freeze"; her Toughness Gauge will be blocked while they're around.
  • A God Am I: Once the Astral Express crew forces her to take aggressive action, she elevates her behavior from mere iron fist to "god complex" along with her One-Winged Angel transformation.
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard: Impaling the Trailblazer with her lance and leaving it there massively backfired on Cocolia, as it allowed the Trailblazer to not only awaken to a Path and element perfectly opposed to her, it allowed them to steal her lance and gain control of the Engine of Creation mecha she had previously been using to attack the heroes.
  • Humans Are Bastards: The Stellaron's influence has turned Cocolia into a Misanthrope Supreme, calling people cowardly and foolhardy. To her, they're nothing more than scum and justifies her actions by declaring that the "new world" will be better than what mankind left behind.
  • An Ice Person: She's shown to be quite adept with ice in battle, and when she later transforms into the Mother of Deception, she further unleashes more icy power.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: Cocolia's eyes are an icy blue and she's a stern, no-nonsense leader of a nation facing a Crapsack World. The ice associations become even stronger when it's revealed that she has been corrupted by the Stellaron's influence and desires to wipe out Belobog and everything in it. However, she was originally a subversion, as she was a warm, loving mother to her adoptive daughter Bronya and close friends with Serval.
  • Love Makes You Evil: The Jarilo-VI Stellaron took advantage of Cocolia's genuine motherly love for Bronya to manipulate her into doing its bidding.
  • Meteor-Summoning Attack: In Mother of Deception's 2nd phase, her strongest attack summons a big meteor to fall onto your characters after a turn, dealing AOE Imaginary damage.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Cocolia is quite the looker, being a beautiful and alluring mature woman, who wears a form-fitting gown that leaves her hips and thighs exposed. She's also up there with Himeko, Natasha and Kafka in terms of bust size.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Her dark green Coat Cape she wears over her uniform is a reference to her HI3 self, who wears a dark green overcoat.
    • Her shadowy appearance as the Mother of Deception closely resembles HI3's Herrscher of Ice, Ana Schariac.
    • Just like in HI3, her adopted daughter Bronya eventually turns against her after her new friends convinces her (in Bronya Zaychik's case, she even chose to fry the control chip embedded in her brain, sending her into a coma). Unlike in HI3, Cocolia actually dies and Bronya witnesses it firsthand.
  • No-Sell: As a boss, she's completely immune to being frozen. Not even Blessings of Remembrance in Simulated Universe can freeze her.
  • One-Winged Angel: She takes on a more powerful form when she confronts the party, becoming the Mother of Deception.
  • The Power of Legacy: After Cocolia's death, Bronya chooses to weave a tale that Cocolia sacrificed her life to stop the Stellaron and end the Eternal Freeze, rather than telling them the grim reality that she was the villain corrupted by the very thing that created the Eternal Freeze. Bronya fears that revealing the truth at such a tenuous time would destroy any remaining faith in Belobog's government and lead to societal collapse. Her decision at least allows Cocolia to be seen as a hero who fought to protect Belobog to the end. Bronya, Seele and the Nameless agree to take the truth of Cocolia's actions and death to their graves for the sake of Belobog's future.
  • Rags to Royalty: Like her adopted daughter Bronya, Cocolia was a denizen of the Underworld before being chosen as the next Supreme Guardian.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: She's the Supreme Guardian of Belobog, and is shown to be a highly formidable fighter even before she becomes the Mother of Deception.
  • Storm of Blades: As both herself and the Mother of Deception, Cocolia can conjure a storm of lances out of ice to rain upon her foes.
  • This Cannot Be!: She says, "It can't be..." when the Trailblazer survives being Impaled with Extreme Prejudice and instead restores Alisa Rand's lance, now imbued with the power of the Amber Lord to fight her. She mutters this again in disbelief upon her defeat.
    "They've deceived me..."
  • Tragic Villain: She was a kindhearted young woman who could have been a great ruler if the Stellaron hadn't twisted her mind. For added tragedy, one of the ways the Stellaron drove her mad was by preying on her genuine love for Bronya.
  • Utopia Justifies the Means: According to her mad ravings at the end of the Jarilo-VI arc, using the power of the Stellaron to wipe the slate clean and build a new world justifies her decision to kill all the people she swore to protect.
  • Walking Spoiler: You wouldn't guess that she'd be the first major antagonist in the game from her introduction.note
  • We Used to Be Friends: She and Serval were very close when they were younger, to the extent of sharing personal belongings. Then the Stellaron corrupted Cocolia, and she cost Serval her job as a researcher when Serval decided to investigate the Stellaron, destroying their friendship. When Serval leaves, Cocolia becomes noticeably remorseful and Serval tragically never finds out that Cocolia was corrupted by outside forces, still believing that her former friend turned cold-hearted of her own volition after becoming Supreme Guardian.

Landau Family

A prominent clan that produced generations of Silvermane Guards.

    Shared Tropes
  • Badass Family: The three known playable characters of this family—Serval, Gepard, and Lynx—are siblings and decent fighters in their own right, though only Gepard is an actual soldier (Serval is retired from the position).
  • Damager, Healer, Tank: The three siblings fill this dynamic, respectively represented by Serval, Lynx, and Gepard.
  • Family Theme Naming: The three siblings are named after big wild cats from the felidae family. Serval and Lynx's names are self-explanatory, while Gepard's is German for "cheetah."
  • Heroic Lineage: For centuries the clan has produced many Silvermane Guards, most famously Rhonda Landau.
  • Sibling Team: It is possible to pair together Serval, Gepard, and Lynx into a team, and they'd easily cover the fundamentals for an effective party. Serval's pure offensive kit makes up for her younger siblings' relative lack thereof by continuously zapping mobs of enemies; Gepard's increased aggro and Shields soak most of incoming punishment for his sisters, which he can further clamp down on with the high Freeze rate of his Skill; and Lynx helps her older siblings with her Survival Response buff that enhance Gepard's survivability while freeing up SP for Serval to burn. You can also get an achievement for putting the three in a team.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: All Landau siblings share the same shade of blonde hair and blue eyes.

Rarity: 5★
Path: The Preservation
Type: Ice

A captain of the Silvermane Guards. Dedicated to his duties the Supreme Guardian, he can be single-minded in performing said duties, even if that brings him into some conflict with his rebellious older sister Serval.

Gepard alternates between stopping his enemies cold with his Skill, Daunting Smite, which has a high chance of Freezing his target with a bash of his reinforced guitar case, and providing Shields onto the party, either for the first two turns of battle with his Technique, Comradery, or three with his Ultimate, Enduring Bulwark, where he punches the ground to generate a wall of icicles. In addition, his Talent, Unyielding Will, rescues him from otherwise fatal hits once per battle.note
  • Achilles' Heel: Gepard's primary means of actively mitigating damage (as opposed to merely making people hit him is the Shield generated by his Ultimate. This makes him potentially capable of doing his job while constantly spamming Basic Attacks to generate SP for his allies, but that also means that he is rather reliant on generating enough energy in order to get his Shield ready again. In most cases, having enough Energy Regeneration Rate and his Draw Aggro can help, to allow him to gather more Energy by tanking hits, but the other party members may not be so lucky, especially if the enemies pack Herd Hitting Attacks. If he doesn't have enough Energy before starting a battle, his Technique can help in generating Shields at the start of battle, but that would mean burning through limited resources which players might find better uses on. Moreover, his Shields are tied to each party members' turn, meaning that the speedier members of the team may run out of his shield faster than intended. Also unlike most "sustain" characters, he normally lacks any kind of Anti-Debuff, with it being only unlocked with his 4th Eidolon (which only gives the party 20% Effect RES); getting debilitated with crowd control debuff would be the last thing he wants as it means he can't use his Ultimate until it wears off, which can be troublesome if the other party members are threatened at the same time.
  • Affectionate Nickname: His sister Serval gives him endearing nicknames such as "bro" (which he doesn't like to be called as in public), and "Geppie".
  • Amplifier Artifact: By acquiring his Eidolons, you can unlock his third and fifth Eidolon Resonances, Never Surrender and Cold Iron Fist, which will add two levels to his Ultimate and Talent with the former, and two to his Skill and one to Basic Attack with the latter.
  • Anti-Debuff: His fourth Eidolon Resonance, Faith Moves Mountains, boosts the party's Effect Resistance by 20% whenever he is on the field.
  • Auto-Revive: His Talent saves him from otherwise fatal hits once per battle and heals him immediately afterwards.note  In addition, his fourth-ascension Bonus Ability, Commander, allows it to immediately fill up his Energy, allowing him to immediately protect himself by erecting Shields with his Ultimate before enemies have a chance to knock him back down again; and his sixth Eidolon Resonance, Unyielding Resolve, allows the Talent to advance his next turn immediately, as well as increase its healing potency by half of his Max HP.note
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Downplayed. His Talent can end up falling into this—among the launch lineup, this is one of two sources of revival, and is undoubtedly powerful. In the right circumstances, it can turn a sure defeat into a close victory. However, because Gepard's kit seeks to negate as much incoming damage as possible, playing his character optimally means his Talent should rarely be triggered, if ever. This also extends to his fourth-ascension Bonus Ability and sixth Eidolon Resonance, which are tied to his Talent.
  • Badass Cape: He wears a long blue half-cape to denote his rank and combat prowess.
  • Barrier Warrior: Both his Ultimate and Technique erect Shields to his allies for, respectively, three and two turns.note
  • Big Little Brother: Even though he is the younger sibling, he stands a good head taller than his older sister Serval.
  • Brutish Character, Brutish Weapon: He is a stern and direct soldier and the most physically focused of the three Landau siblings. Fittingly enough, he primarily fights with a huge reinforced guitar case (which belonged to Serval) big and heavy enough to be swung about like a Telephone Polearm and his fists.
  • The Captain: It's his rank, and he's apparently quite young for it, but Serval's Companion Mission perfectly demonstrates that he earned the rank beyond just his martial prowess. When an unexpected Fragmentum attack in the Underworld mines threatened Boulder Town, Gepard wastes little time mobilizing his troops to secure the border and defend the town alongside Wildfire, setting up rescue ops for miners still trapped inside, and diving straight to the frontlines to see to the rescues himself. Oleg, himself an Old Soldier, recognizes this quality in Gepard and doesn't hesitate in offering his respect and support.
  • Cool Big Bro: Inverted, but he's very supportive of Serval, even humming some of her tunes. His idle animation has him attempting to sing one of her songs and getting embarrassed at his attempt. Played straight for his younger sister Lynx, to whom he tries to be supportive and caring even if her quirks annoyingly match up more with Serval. Funny enough, Lynx's character lore reveals that he was the one who got her the snowboard but made Serval promise not to reveal that.
  • Counter-Attack: Only as a Simulated Universe boss, he has a move ("Tit for Tat") where he prepares for a counter. When one of your characters attacks him, he'll quickly retaliate once by swinging his guitar case at them.
  • Determinator: As explained by Serval, Gepard will never back down once he starts a fight, be it a brawl or an argument. This becomes Detrimental Determination when he values his orders from Cocolia over Serval's pleas to let her reach the Stellaron so the Nameless can end the Eternal Freeze.
  • Dork Knight: Gepard is the respected captain of the Silvermane Guards and one of Belobog's most stalwart protectors... who's lacking in pretty much anything outside of combat, as others poke fun at. Sampo describes him as charming in his lack of charm.
  • Draw Aggro: Gepard's second-ascension Bonus Ability, Integrity, increases his chance of being targeted by enemies, allowing him to tank for his squishier teammates, as well as generate a significant amount of Energy.
  • The Dutiful Son: In stark contrast to Serval, Gepard is a stern and professional solder who feels compelled to follow in the duties expected of him as a Landau.
  • Elemental Eye Colors: He has blue eyes which match his ice element.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: His right arm has a long studded gauntlet over it.
  • Flunky Boss: As a boss, he can summon Silvermane Soldiers or Cannoneers and command them to target a specific teammate. In Simulated Universe, in his final phase, he can even summon Silvermane Lieutenants, who aren't shy about summoning Soldiers of their own.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Gepard is the dutiful and serious Responsible to Serval's rebellious and easygoing Foolish.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Despite being a captain of the Silvermane Guards and thus their superior, having Gepard in your party does not stop hostile Silvermane Guard mobs in the overworld from attacking him, nor would it stop you from attacking them.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: His Basic Attack, Fist of Conviction has him deal Ice damage via throwing hands.
  • Ground Punch: His Ultimate has him gather ice energy in his fist and smash it to the ground, creating a wall of icicles that provide Shields to the party for three turns.
  • Guilt-Tripping: In their Companion Mission, Serval thinks he's doing this to her, to make her stay in Belobog in spite of her wish to leave. Gepard requested her to accompany him to the Underworld, supposedly because she won't see them and him again for some time; though it doesn't help that throughout the mission, she keeps encountering things related to her past, as well as other things that go against her decision of leaving her home. He then later says to her directly that "running away doesn't solve the problem"note  and how he's not trying to change her mind, but he needs to make sure she really thought things through and isn't just trying to run away from her problems, and he also seemingly alludes to himself and Serval when he's talking to a rescued pair of siblings, particularly about how they should protect each other; she calls him out for said speech, but he claims that it was how he has always felt.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: In battle, Gepard fights his foes by using his ice-powered fists or bludgeoning them with his guitar case, while his sister Serval calls down lightning strikes with her guitar. Subverted concerning his younger sister Lynx, who is primarily a healer but attacks in melee combat with an icepick.
  • Helmets Are Hardly Heroic: He is a playable Silvermane Guard, yet is completely bareheaded, in contrast to his fellow guard NPCs.
  • Hidden Depths: Gepard's hobbies include growing flowers, although he isn't very good at it.
  • Invocation:
(Ultimate activation) "In the name of Landau."
(Normal speed) "Years of cold hardens the will...we shall never fall!"
(×2 speed) "A will forged in ice... never falters!"
  • Ironic Name: Gepard's name is German for cheetah, an animal that is known for being a Fragile Speedster, while Gepard himself is a Mighty Glacier.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: A more modern take: he's a high-ranking military officer in a mostly white uniform and studded with medals and some actual metal armor, who fights to protect Belobog and its people.
  • The Leader: As Captain of the Silvermane Guards, he leads them in the front lines. He's both Levelheaded and Headstrong, dutifully carrying out his orders while still being reasonable enough to discard them if they interfere with protecting the people of Belobog.
  • Middle Child Syndrome: Averted. Gepard is the middle sibling between his sisters Serval and Lynx, and is the most celebrated one in the family due to following their tradition.
  • Mirror Match: If you have Gepard in your roster and want to have him fight his boss self in story missions, the Simulated Universe, or the Forgotten Hall, go ahead, the game won't stop you.
  • Officer and a Gentleman: He is a captain and can be quite the courteous gentleman off the clock.
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner:
(Enemy Target Found) "Seize the initiative."
(Battle Begins: Weakness Break) "This ends here."
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: He's a prestigious captain in the Silvermane Guards and takes orders directly from Bronya and Cocolia. He's also by far the toughest of the Silvermane Guards and is the last man standing when he comes to blows with the Astral Express over Cocolia's orders to arrest them as insurgents for trying to take the Stellaron.
  • Recurring Boss: He's fought twice during the Belobog arc, once at the very beginning (which ends midway) and one near the end. A super-empowered version of him can also be fought as the final boss of Simulated World 3.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Initially starts out as somewhat unreasonable but as the story and events progress, he eventually plays this trope straight. He protects occupants of both the Overworld and Underworld of Belobog when the Fragmentum attacks and is ultimately helpful towards the Trailblazers when they return to Belobog for different in-game events.
  • Senseless Violins: He fights with a reinforced old guitar case from Serval, using it as a bludgeon and also as a barrier generator.
  • Shockwave Stomp: One of his boss-only moves ("Frigid Waterfall") has him jump up towards your party and then smash his guitar case onto the ground, dealing AOE damage.
  • Simple, yet Awesome: He doesn't have many complex gimmicks, but his ability to create Shields for the party is indispensable; with it he can protect all teammates equally instead of one at a time, or having to rely on chance to draw his enemies' aggro towards him (which he can, but the party-wide shields offer more than enough insurance). In some cases you don't even need to bring an Abundance Pathstrider if you have him around. Gepard's simple, but powerful defenses, and the fact that they're built entirely around his ultimate means that he's one of the few fully "SP Positive" (i.e generates more SP than he would consume it)note  defensive characters around, freeing up more resources for his allies without compromising on their protection.
  • Single-Use Shield: As a boss, he can grant this to his summoned troops and himself. The shield(s) will nullify the next instance of damage (except for DOT) and then dissipate afterward. Averted with his "Complete" version in Simulated Universe, which can create a much stronger shield for his side; your party will have to batter them repeatedly to break it, but once it breaks, all of his group will take big damage and suffer Weakness Break.
  • Sliding Scale of Gameplay and Story Integration: As a guest assistant for the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities" event, Gepard, being preoccupied with his duties to the Silvermane Guards, has the lowest Tour Duration stat of the nine such characters at 5 out of 100, in contrast to his Educational Value and Visitor Appeal stats which both fall in the 80s, which reflect his intellect and popularity.
  • Status Infliction Attack: His Skill has Gepard swing his guitar case with a 65% base chance to Freeze an enemy, forcing them to lose a turn and take damage afterwards.note  His first Eidolon Resonance, Due Diligence, raises the base rate to 100%, while his second, Lingering Cold, imposes a 20% Speed penalty for the next turn once the target is unfrozen.
  • Stone Wall: As a Preservation Pathstrider, Gepard is a highly reliable tank who can grant shields to the entire party with the tradeoff of low attack power. The latter weakness can can be ameliorated with his sixth-ascension Bonus Ability, Fighting Spirit, which boosts his Attack stat based on 35% of his current Defense; as the effect refreshes every turn, this incentivizes players to keep shoring up his defenses.
  • Strong and Skilled: Gepard has incredible amounts of physical strength, easily using his guitar case to smack enemies despite it being taller than him. He also attacks with a solid punch and uppercut for his basic attack and Serval mentions that he excels at martial arts.
  • Terrible Artist: Turns out that all the crudely drawn Wanted posters of the main characters were drawn by him. He admits they didn't turn out the best since he had to draw them in a hurry but he seems quite proud of them, especially March 7th's portrait where he did his best to convey her energy. This is in huge contrast to Pela's posters which were drawn in a hilariously shoujo-esque style.
  • To Be Lawful or Good: His character story touches on this, with Serval asking him whether he would protect Belobog's people (Good) or obey the Supreme Guardian's orders (Law) should a situation ever come where he has to choose. Gepard responds that he would strive for both where possible, but ultimately choose Belobog's people if push really came to shove. The second encounter with him in the restricted zone goes exactly like this. When he first believes the party is embarking on something horribly dangerous with terrible potential consequences for everyone - to say nothing of Serval associating with supposed criminals and beating down his fellow Silvermane Guards - he stonewalls the party and upholds his orders from Cocolia believing that will protect Belobog. Once the fighting is over and he's given a full explanation so he understands what's really at stake, he immediately finds a rule in his soldiering duties that allows him to stand aside, putting Belobog's people over his orders.
  • Took a Level in Badass: All but stated in his associated Light Cone:
"If you want to cry after your loss, Gepard, then cry. But you need to stand back up even when you are crying, until you can defeat me... Even if it takes you years."
A few years later, the boy no longer cried or lost to his sister.
  • Wake-Up Call Boss: World 3 is the first "proper" world in the Simulated Universe, and as its boss, Gepard introduces you to the "Complete" versions of the story bosses you'll be facing from now on, and he's liable to give you a good thrashing to demonstrate this. His Garrison Aura Field tests your ability to maintain a constant offense while still keeping your party alive against a formation of enemies immune to almost all crowd-control. Gepard is also the first boss to possess the infinitely-stacking damage buff all future bosses will have, putting you on a time limit to break through his defenses before he and his men overwhelm you.
  • Weapon Specialization: Gepard's associated Light Cone is "Moment of Victory" (5★), whose "Verdict" passive increases its wearer's chance of being targeted as well as their Defense and Effect Hit Rate by 24-40% each, with the former increasing again by the same value every time they are attacked, which will then be reset at the end of their next turn. Aside from making his shield stronger through the increased DEF, this increases Gepard's chances of suckering enemies into wasting precious turns barely making a dent on his shield, as well as his chances of freezing enemies with his Skill in retaliation.

Rarity: 4★
Path: The Abundance
Type: Quantum

Youngest of the three Landau siblings and one of Belobog's most talented explorers in extreme environments.

Lynx shares her survival skills to her allies through her Talent, Outdoor Survival Experience, which for two turns gradually heals allies affected by her healing abilities—her Skill, Salted Camping Cans, which heals one ally and additionally bestows them the "Survival Response" state for two turns, which boosts their Max HP, enhances the Talent's healing, and increases enemy aggression towards them if they are a Destruction or Preservation Pathstrider; and her Ultimate, Snowfield First Aid, where she tosses a giant medicine pill onto the party that also removes a debuff—as well as her Technique, Chocolate Energy Bar, which bestows the effect onto the party at the start of battle.note
  • Affectionate Nickname: Serval and Pela call her "Lynxy" in the English dub (as well as "Lyn-tan" in Japanese).
  • Alliterative Name: Her full name is Lynx Landau.
  • Amplifier Artifact: By acquiring her Eidolons, you can upgrade her third and fifth Eidolon Resonances, Afternoon of Avalanche Beacon and Night of Aurora Tea, which will add two levels to her Skill and one to Basic Attack with the former, and two to her Ultimate and Talent with the latter.
  • Animal-Eared Headband: She wears a hat with fluffy, fake cat ears.
  • Animal Motif: Cats, specifically her namesake lynx. While all three Landau siblings are named after wild cats, Lynx is the only one to incorporate feline features into her design. Between her hairstyle framing her face in a way similar to lynx manes, cat-eared hat, and her penchant for eating fish in her Skill and idle animations, these give her the appearance and behavior of a lynx.
  • Anti-Debuff:
    • Lynx can mass-dispel one debuff from each party member with her Ultimate.
    • Her fourth-ascension Bonus Ability, Exploration Techniques, increases her chances of resisting crowd control debuffs by 35%.
    • Her second Eidolon Resonance, Noon of Portable Furnace, grants a one-time debuff block to Survival Response, and her sixth, Dawn of Explorers' Chart, gives the state an additional 30% Effect Resistance buff.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: She's the youngest child of the Landau family, which leads to her being doted and fretted on quite often by her older siblings Gepard and Serval. This becomes a source of conflict for Lynx during her Companion Mission, as she dislikes being coddled by them, given that she's already in her teens.
  • Badass Adorable: Short, cute, wears fluffy clothing that includes cat ears, and has a mean icepick arm to go with her astounding survival skills out in the wilds, casually stating that she's taken out Fragmentum monsters when settling a campsite.
  • Bag of Holding: For an outdoorswoman Lynx carries a surprisingly small rucksack; it barely reaches her lower back but is shown to contain far more than its size would allow. Upon casting her ultimate Lynx reaches into her pack and removes a tin of sardines, a snowboard, a large camping flashlight and an entire fish on a skewer, before finally pulling out a medicinal pill nearly as big as she is.
  • Bold Explorer: Lynx spends her time beyond Belobog's walls, exploring the planet's frozen landscape and engaging in research. Her official art shows her living in a tent, ice fishing for food, and enjoying hot beverage while smiling happily at the aurora. Her Companion Mission follows her and Pela going on on a camping trip in the hopes of seeing the first post-Stellaron crisis aurora together.
  • Breaking Old Trends: Lynx is one of two of the first playable characters in the game (the other being Fu Xuan, released at the same time) whose Basic Attack scales purely off of a stat other than Attack (i.e., Max HP), which most other characters use even if their kits gravitate towards scaling off of a different stat.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Lynx is a highly talented explorer, but comes across as lazy and unmotivated to avoid unnecessary socialization, which to her is basically all socialization in general.
  • Combat Medic: Lynx's Basic Attack, Ice Crampon Technique, scales off of her Max HP, letting her deal decent damage when built as intended.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: With a dash of survival-camping-variety Foreign Queasine; Pela tries and fails to take over cooking duties when she hears Lynx's proposed stew which includes, among other things, mimic slug (a camouflaging snow slug) and canned sardines. Subverted when the resulting dish turns out looking and tasting delicious. Lynx's stew tasting good is even more impressive considering her canned sardines appear to be based on surströmming, an infamously stinky kind of fermented herring from Sweden, which Pela explicitly calls so in the Japanese dub.
  • Dump Stat: None of Lynx's abilities or upgrades scale off of her Attack stat, so any that she gains from buffs or equipment loadout are useless. While some Blessings from the Simulated Universe can scale off Lynx's Attack, it's still not worth building it up on her.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: She appeared in the Official Release trailer and the "Warmth Shortens Cold Nights" light cone before her official debut in the game.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: Lynx would occasionally spot a "blue-haired monkey" during her expeditions and, due to never getting a good look at them or snapping a photo, dubbed them "the legendary Belobog Caveman," an error she realizes in her voice line about the man in question, Sampo.
  • Glacier Waif: Building up's Lynx healing and damaging potencies means stacking her Max HP, truly turning this young-looking girl into a hardy survivalist that can handle any attacks thrown her way.
  • Healing Hands: Her Skill and Ultimate heal, respectively, a single ally and the whole party.note
  • Idiot Hair: Lynx sports one that peaks in front of her hat. It's downplayed as the idiot hair in question blends in with the other strands in Lynx's hairstyle.
  • Informed Ability: She plays keyboards in Serval's band, but, unlike Serval herself, isn't shown performing any music.
  • Invocation:
(Ultimate activation) "To travel far away..."
(Normal speed) "For a tough case like yours, we're gonna try them all!"
(×2 speed) "Try them all! Hahaha!"
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: Her eyes are blue, reflecting her innocent, pure, and sweet nature.
  • Just a Kid: For all her adventuring prowess, her older siblings still consider Lynx a child, much to her chagrin. Her Companion Mission also begins with Gepard and Serval summoning the Trailblazer to watch over their little sister from the shadows upon learning that she is going out with a stranger (unbeknownst to them, Pela).
  • Lady of Adventure: The youngest child of the prominent Landau family, Lynx has chosen to leave the safety of Belobog for a life of adventure. Though still young, she's already established herself as one of the best extreme-environment explorers in Jarilo-VI, a passion borne from her childhood of reading story books about the wonders of the outside world.
  • Literally Shattered Lives: There's an achievement for having Lynx kill a Frozen enemy.
  • Not So Stoic: Lynx seems to constantly wear a neutral expression with a few small smiles in between (as in her artwork). That said, she can be more empathic and emotional than she lets on, such as at the end of her Companion Mission, where her older siblings notice that behind her poker-faced expression she is tearing up out of sympathy for Pela, who has just discovered her late mother's letters.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: Lynx is annoyed about how Gepard and Serval keep babying her despite how old she is now and airs out her complaints over it. Unfortunately, she's airing this complaint to Pela, who somberly suggests that's just how family is, and Lynx instantly apologizes for bringing it up.
  • Powerful Pick: Fitting with her profession, she uses an ice pick for her Basic Attack.
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner:
(Battle Begins: Weakness Break) "Perfect, now's my chance."
  • Regenerating Health: Her Talent gives both her Skill and Ultimate an HP regeneration effect for two turns.note  Her sixth-ascension Bonus Ability, Survival in the Extreme, extends said regeneration to three turns.
  • Regenerating Mana: Her second-ascension Bonus Ability, Advance Surveying, generates 2 Energy for Lynx whenever allies with Survival Response are attacked.
  • Shared Family Quirks: According to Gepard, Lynx shares a few quirks with Serval, much to his chagrin.
  • Situational Sword: Her first Eidolon Resonance, Morning of Snow Hike, boosts her Outgoing Healing (including the regeneration) by 20% if her target ally has no more than half their HP.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Lynx read about and was told stories about wonders and phenomena like Belobog's pre-Eternal Freeze natural world and the aurora, but was disappointed that her teachers, when asked about them, would always exasperatedly respond that such things are hidden in the depths of the Snow Plains... so she decided she'll just head out and see it for herself.
(About Self) "For the Landau family, matters are simple: If you want to do something, go for it. I wanted to see the Snow Plains, so I joined the research team... It was as simple as that."
  • Status Buff: The Survival Response effect granted by her Skill does a myriad of things. At base, it boosts the ally's Max HP by a fraction of Lynx's ownnote  and heightens the HP regeneration effect of her Talent, as well as imposes a Draw Aggro effect if they are a Destruction or Preservation Pathstrider. Her even-numbered Eidolon Resonances also add other effects: a one-time debuff resistance through her second; an Attack boost (worth 3% of her Max HP) through her fourth, Dusk of Warm Campfire; and an additional boost to Max HP (worth 6% of hers), as well as a 30% boost to Effect Resistance, through her sixth.
  • Temporal Theme Naming: Her Eidolon Resonances are named after the cycle of day and night, specifically pertaining to an explorer like her.
  • Unseen No More: While she was mentioned by Serval and Gepard during their story quest, it takes an official character card to identify her as the girl besides Pela in the "Warmth Shortens Cold Nights" light cone.
  • Weapon Specialization: Lynx's associated Light Cone is "Warmth Shortens Cold Nights" (4★), whose "Tiny Light" passive increases its wearer's max HP by 16-32%, and at the end of the wearer's turn heals all allies by 2-4% of their respective max HP. In addition to boosting her healing, Lynx's max HP buff also directly increases the effectiveness of the turn-end passive healing.

    Serval

Serval Landau

Introduced: April 26, 2023 (v1.0 "The Rail Unto the Stars" [game launch])

Rarity: 4★
Path: The Erudition
Type: Lightning

Oldest and most rebellious of Landau siblings and a former close friend of Cocolia. In the past, she was a military scientist in the Silvermane Guards, but Cocolia's orders for her to cease her research into the Jarilo-VI Stellaron forced her to quit her job and strained their relationship. Nowadays, she spends time tinkering with machines in her own shop, Neverwinter Workshop, while doubling as lead guitarist of the rock band Mechanical Fever, until Gepard referring the Astral Express crew to her renews her interest in finding out the truth about both the Stellaron and Cocolia's sudden change of heart.

Serval literally shocks her foes with strums of her electric guitar. Both her Technique and Skill, respectively Good Night, Belobog and Lightning Flash, have a very high chance to inflict the Shock effect—the former, for three turns on all foes, in addition to damaging a random foe; the latter, for two turns, affecting her target and adjacent foes. In addition, both her respective Talent and Ultimate, Galvanic Chords and Here Comes the Mechanical Fever, deal multi-target damage with auxiliary effects against Shocked foes—the former deals damage on all affected foes in conjunction with her attacks, while in the latter, she conjures thunderbolts with her guitar and extends any existing such effect by two turns.note

  • Amplifier Artifact: By acquiring her Eidolons, you can upgrade her third and fifth Eidolon Resonances, Listen, the Heartbeat of the Gears and Belobog's Loudest Roar!, which will add two levels to her Skill and one to Basic Attack with the former and two to her Ultimate and Talent with the latter.
  • Bad Liar: While Serval is many things, being good at lying is not one of them. Her attempts to divert attention and try to weasel past her brother are nothing short of horrid with her poor acting skills.
  • Black Sheep: Her rebellious nature and bad relationship with her father had led her to cut ties with most of her family, although she still remains on good terms with her younger siblings.
  • But Now I Must Go: Her Companion Mission begins with Serval asking to join the Astral Express, claiming she wants to take advantage of Jarilo-VI's reopening to international traffic. However, it becomes clear that she is not so much sightseeing as much as trying to escape the painful memories of her falling-out with Cocolia and her poor family life, which Gepard picks up on and advises her to only do it if she has thought it through, assuring her that she's not alone. This, coupled with a confrontation with a Fragmentum illusion of Cocolia allowing her to finally confront her feelings on the matter, ultimately convinces her to stay and keep running her workshop, as well as help with the planet's rehabilitation.
  • Chain Lethality Enabler: Her sixth-ascension Bonus Ability, Mania, gives her a 20% attack boost for two turns whenever she takes down an enemy. This has no limit on the number of times it can stack, letting her damage output spike if there are enough enemies for her to take down repeatedly.
  • Company Cross References: Serval can be considered an older, lightning-elemental counterpart to Xinyan from Genshin Impact, being a rock guitarist whose rebellion against her surrounding culture has brought her much grief in the past.
  • Critical Hit Class: One of three stats Serval can upgrade via her Trace tree is Critical Rate, with her getting a 16% boost once fully unlocked.
  • Damage Over Time:
    • Her Skill zaps a group of enemies, with an 80% base chance to inflict Shock for two turns, which damage the victim at the start of their turn.note  Her second-ascension Bonus Ability, Rock 'n' Roll, raises the base rate to 100%.
    • Her Technique inflicts Shock on all enemies for three turns and damages a random enemy.note
    • Serval's fourth Eidolon Resonance, Make Some Noise!, allows her Ultimate to inflict Shock on enemies not afflicted beforehand, with damage potency tied to that inflicted by her Skill.
  • "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune: The theme song in her trailer, "The Cusp of Ignition" is performed by her voice actress in all four dubs, with the implication that it's Serval herself singing.
  • Exposed to the Elements: Justified. Unlike her siblings, who are bundled up for the cold, Serval doesn't wear heavy clothing because she doesn't regularly leave Belobog as part of her job. While she's comfortable enough in the Restricted Zone, she shivers when she makes the trek up to Everwinter Peak in her Companion Mission.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Serval wears only half of what is presumably her old attire from her days as an Architect, specifically wearing the right half of her white coat and blue skirt, while the left half of her ensemble is a black tube top and daisy dukes.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation:
    • Her weapon is a lightning-shooting guitar she and Cocolia made in school, the same guitar she smashed to pieces at the end of her companion mission. To make it even more blatant, she only finds the guitar again at the start of said quest.
    • In the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities" limited-time event, likely for balance purposes, Serval's Visitor Appeal stat is a measly 10 out of 100 despite her being a famous rocker. The only tour guide with worse Visitor Appeal is Sampo.
    • Late in Lynx's companion Mission, you might randomly encounter Serval in the museum after speaking to Lynx. She doesn't acknowledge the events of the quest and just says her generic "museum" quote.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: In battle, Serval fights her foes by calling down lightning strikes with her guitar, while her brother Gepard uses his ice-powered fists to fight enemies or bludgeoning them with his guitar case. Outside of battle, it gets played with- if you initiate combat normally, Serval will physically swing her guitar. If you use her Technique to initiate combat, she will call down a lightning strike.
  • Hates Their Parent: Serval and her father aren't on speaking terms due to her rebellious nature, but she particularly despises him for blindly following Cocolia's orders to seal off the Underworld without question. She does still write to her mother, indicating their relationship isn't as strained. The story of the "Landau's Choice" light cone heavily implies Serval's misgivings extend all the way back to her childhood.
  • Head-Turning Beauty: Serval's beauty is commented on by others, with her old friend Dunn stammering around her because of how good she still looks since they last saw each other.
  • Herd-Hitting Attack: True to her Path, her kit allows her to strike multiple enemies at once, in addition to slowly chipping away at their health. Aside from her Skill dealing Blast damage and Ultimate...
    • Her Talent lets her deal additional damage on all Shocked foes whenever she attacks at least one of them.note
    • Her first Eidolon Resonance, Echo Chamber, allows her Basic Attack, Roaring Thunderclap, to hit a random foe on either side of her target, with damage worth 60% of the initial attack.
  • Instrument of Murder: Serval wields a unique "electric guitar" that she and Cocolia invented that literally conducts electricity. In combat, she strums and performs sick guitar riffs to smite her foes with bolts of lightning.
  • Invocation:
(Ultimate activation) "Ready to lose yourself?"
(Normal speed) "Fight it, or rock with it. My music... conquers all!"
(×2 speed) "You can fight it... or rock with it!"
  • Irony: Late in the Jarilo-VI Trailblaze Mission, Serval joins the Trailblazer and friends to help them find the Stellaron and seal it. However, she has to stay behind midway to tend to Gepard's injuries from fighting Fragmentum monsters. Had she still tagged along with them, she would have witnessed the reason behind Cocolia's corruption and their friendship falling out. She doesn't however, which leads to the main crux of Serval's personal conflict in her Companion Mission.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Serval is quite the shocking beauty, with an outfit that showcases a fair bit of skin and brings her long legs into focus.
  • Nonconformist Dyed Hair: In contrast to her siblings' pure blond hair, she has bluish-purple streaks in her hair that also fades into an electric glowing blue at the tips. Fittingly, she's the Black Sheep of the Landau family and has a rather poor reputation with the rest of her relatives save for her younger siblings.
  • Older Than They Look: She looks like a college student, but she's at least old enough to have been schoolmates with Cocolia, who had adopted and raised little Bronya (now a young adult) after becoming the Supreme Guardian, as well as having a past career as a military scientist.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Serval is fairly lax and easygoing, so it says a lot when seeing the embodiment of Cocolia's emotions causes her to snap in a rage and reveal just how livid and heartbroken she really is over the collapse of their friendship.
  • The Power of Rock: As the wielder of a literally electric guitar, she channels her powers by performing guitar riffs.
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner:
(Enemy Target Found) "Huh, these targets will make for good practice~"
(Battle Begins: Weakness Break) "Time for the main event."
(Battle Begins: Danger Alert) "Here to crash the party?"
  • Rockers Smash Guitars: Played for Drama. The end of her Companion Mission has her smash her prized guitar - which she and Cocolia created together, as a symbol of their friendship - to signify that she's no longer trapped in Cocolia's shadow.
  • Regenerating Mana: Her fourth-ascension Bonus Ability, String Vibration, immediately restores 15 Energy to Serval at the start of battle, while her second Eidolon Resonance, Encore!, regenerates 4 Energy whenever her Talent is triggered.note  This helps her charge Energy rather quickly, allowing her to use Ultimate every two to three turns.
  • Renaissance Woman: Not only is Serval a skilled musician and mechanic, she is also a capable fighter and a former researcher studying about Stellarons before she got fired by Cocolia to cover up the truth.
  • The Rock Star: When she's not running her repair shop, Serval moonlights as the lead guitarist and singer of Mechanical Fever alongside Pela.
  • Sliding Scale of Gameplay and Story Integration: Serval mentions that she always used to beat Gepard in their brawls as children. Despite her hesitation about whether she can do so in the present, Serval is a strong counter for Gepard in his boss fight. Her Lightning attacks strike one of his weaknesses; her ability to hit many targets helps stem his constant summoning of Silvermane Guards; and she can Shock him to continuously chip away at his shields. You even get an achievement for letting her land the finishing blow in his boss fight.
  • Square Race, Round Class: While her academic background and multi-target attacks fit the Path of Erudition, her playstyle—applying Shock and then dealing bonus damage to those affected—is a better fit for Nihility.
  • Squishy Wizard: Serval can bring down epic and electrifying riffs down on her enemies, especially if they're Shocked, but as an Erudition Pathstrider, her defenses are quite poor.
  • Status Effect-Powered Ability:
    • Her Ultimate strikes all foes and will add two turns to any existing Shock effect.note
    • Her sixth Eidolon Resonance, This Song Rocks to Heaven, gives her a 30% damage bonus against Shocked foes.
  • Status Effect-Powered Ability:
    • Her Ultimate strikes all foes and will add two turns to any existing Shock effect.note
    • Her sixth Eidolon Resonance, This Song Rocks to Heaven, gives her a 30% damage bonus against Shocked foes.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: The conclusion of her Companion Mission has Serval furiously condemn Cocolia, destroying the guitar they made together while cursing her name beyond the grave. Considering how Cocolia basically completely ruined her life, and with Serval never learning the truth behind her and the Stellaron's corruption, she has every right to not forgive her.
Serval: Look at me, Cocolia! Don't you DARE look away... Because I... [smashes Cocolia's guitar] will no longer... live... in... YOUR... SHADOW!!!
  • We Used to Be Friends:
    • Serval and Cocolia were very close in their youth, to the point where they basically shared personal belongings. However, after Cocolia grew colder over the years, she fired Serval for a reason she's not privy to (trying to investigate the Stellaron), ruining Serval's life and destroying their friendship permanently. She unfortunately never finds out that Cocolia was corrupted by the Stellaron and ends up condemning her beyond the grave.
    • Also, according to one of Sampo's voice lines, she and Sampo used to be friends, though it's unclear how close they were, or how much Sampo's word can be trusted. For her part, Serval doesn't say much about Sampo, only noting that he'll one day get busted by Gepard.
  • Weapon Specialization: Serval's associated Light Cone is "Make the World Clamor" (4★), whose "The Power of Sound" passive automatically regenerates 20–32 Energy for the wearer at the start of battle and increases the damage output of their Ultimate by 32–64%, which helps her use her Ultimate sooner as well as boost its power, especially against Shocked enemies.
  • Wrench Wench: Serval is a brilliant mechanic, to the point where the Silvermane Guards sometimes call upon her for assistance. She also runs a workshop called the Neverwinter Workshop, where she fixes equipment.

Silvermane Guards

Rarity: 4★
Path: The Nihility
Type: Ice

An intelligence officer in the Silvermane Guards. Calm and methodical in her methods, she also spends time alternating between her duties to the Guards and as drummer at the rock band Mechanical Fever, led by Gepard's older sister Serval, if not indulging in her passion for reading and writing romantic novels.

Pela compromises her enemies' defenses through laser drones coordinated from a tome-like device. Her Skill, Frostbite, removes a debuff from her target, while her Technique and Ultimate, respectively Preemptive Strike and Zone Suppression, inflict a Defense penalty for two turns (at the start of battle with the former). In addition, her Talent, Data Collecting, regenerates some Energy whenever her attacks inflict debuffs.note

  • Accidental Misnaming: She’s such a frequent victim of this that she has learned to expect it. In her character file voicelines, she has noted 32 different versions of her full name among the Guards.
  • Amplifier Artifact: By acquiring her Eidolons, you can upgrade her third and fifth Eidolon Resonances, Suppressive Force and Absolute Jeopardy, which will add two levels to her Skill and one to Basic Attack (Frost Shot) with the former, and two to her Ultimate and Talent with the latter.
  • Attack Drone: Pela attacks enemies by summoning and commanding drones from a Spell Book-like device.
  • Badass Adorable: Pela is one of the most respected officers of the Silvermane Guards on account of her intellect and work ethic, and is also adept in dealing with troublemakers. She also exhibits a geeky side off the clock, such as her fascination for romance stories and writing fanfiction out of them, not to mention her cute, youthful looks.
  • Bespectacled Cutie: Pela is a short and cute girl who wears large round glasses and is a fan of romance stories.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: She expresses a genuine like for Himeko's coffee when aboard the Express, in contrast to everyone else who has tried it before including her own superior Bronya. The only other person thus far who views Himeko's coffee positively is Arlan, and he only mentions enjoying the aroma and hasn't actually tasted it.
  • Child Soldier: Out of the known Silvermane Guards, Pela is the youngest at just sixteen years old.
  • Closet Geek: She's visibly embarrassed over her geeky hobbies and tries to hide them from others.
  • Company Cross References: Her phone cover features minimalistic icons of the male leads from miHoYo's Otome Game Tears of Themis, further playing into her private fondness for romantic stories.
  • Damage-Increasing Debuff:
    • Her Ultimate strikes all enemies and inflicts them with the Exposed debuff, which imposes a 30–45% Defense penalty for two turns.note
    • Her Technique hits a random enemynote  and inflicts a 20% Defense penalty to all enemies for the first two turns of battle.
    • Her fourth Eidolon Resonance, Full Analysis, gives her Skill a base 100% chance to reduce her target's Ice Resistance by 12% for two turns.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: Apparently Trotters are the cause of 20% of cases of missing Silvermane Guards due to chasing them, which has led to Pela's impression that they somehow mind-control their pursuers. Lynx has to bemusedly correct this impression when the two find one in the wild.
  • First-Name Basis: Pela has a first name and a typical Russian patronymic ("Sergeyevna" means "daughter of Sergey"); Lynx's Companion Mission reveals that this is her last name, as her mother's name is Penya Sergeyevna. She is introduced giving a lecture to a group of small kids—in Russian culture, children are supposed to address their teachers on name-and-patronymic basis.
  • Height Angst: Only subtly mentioned in the "Ancestor's Drill Bit" Adventure Quest, but while tagging alongside the Trailblazer in the Corridor of Fading Echoes, she mentions she's a bit insecure about her short height and doesn't appreciate when people point it out to her.
  • Hidden Depths: Outside her duties, she doubles as drummer of Serval's rock band Mechanical Fever and writes fanfiction for her favorite novel series Tales of the Winterlands.
  • Improbable Age: Pela is only sixteen years oldnote , but is already a high-ranking officer in the Silvermane Guards. Becomes an Exaggerated Trope when taking into account that according to Dunn, at one point Pela and Serval went to college together. Since Serval went to college with Cocolia, who adopted Bronya when the latter was a kid (she's an adult now), this was likely over a decade ago. Thus, Pela would have been going to college as a toddler. One possible theory explaining this could be that Belobogians measure their years differently from the rest of the cosmos due to being disconnected from space for so long.
  • Informed Ability: She plays drums (and occasionally sings) in Serval's band, but, unlike Serval herself, isn't shown performing any music.
  • Invocation:
    (Ultimate activation) "Enemy data secured."
(Normal speed and ×2 speed) "Net markers activated — time for a good old counterattack."
  • Mana Drain: Pela's first Eidolon Resonance, Victory Report, restores 5 Energy for every enemy fallen in battle.
  • Missing Mom: Pela's mother Penya passed away giving birth to her sixteen years ago during an expedition outside Belobog, where Natasha served as field nurse. When they meet again, the latter apologizes to Pela for her inability to save Penya from her injuries on time; Pela, for her part, does not hold it against her. This is later explored in Lynx's Companion Mission, where she and Pela found old messages left behind by Penya.
  • Older Than They Look: She's as short as Clara, who is a child, but is old enough to be an officer for the Silvermane Guards. Downplayed in that she's revealed to be only sixteen years old in Lynx's Companion Mission.
  • Orwellian Retcon: Due to issues regarding her true agenote , in v1.4 her text message about asking "how to get sober" is instead changed to "how to stave off sleepiness".
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner:
(Battle Begins: Weakness Break) "We have the upper hand."
  • Regenerating Mana: Her Talent restores 5–12.5 Energy for her whenever she debuffs an enemy, triggered once per attack. Outside of situational setups, there are only three ways for her to debuff enemies: her Ultimate, her Technique, and her Skill (for the last one, provided she has unlocked her fourth Eidolon Resonance).
  • Shorter Means Smarter: Pela is very short, and is fittingly an intelligence officer.
  • Simple, yet Awesome: Pela's overall gameplay are simple, but her Ultimate inflicting a Defense debuff onto all enemies makes her a very useful support unit, especially against groups of enemies. Her Skill's buff-dispelling ability can also take the edge off of otherwise tricky enemies.
  • Skewed Priorities: At one point, she declares that she would defend the original manuscripts of Tales of the Winterlands with her life.
  • Starter Mon: For the "Ledger of Curiosities" limited-time event, Pela is the first museum assistant you recruit after completing the first part of its associated "Opportunity Makes the Thief" quest series. She has equal stats in all three attributes, but doesn't really specialize in any of them.
  • Status Buff: Pela's fourth-ascension Bonus Ability, The Secret Strategy, boosts the party's Effect Hit Rate by 10% whenever she is on the field.
  • Status-Buff Dispel: Her Skill has Pela fire a drone on her enemynote  and remove one buff. Two of her upgrades provide additional effects whenever it removes a buff: her sixth-ascension Bonus Ability, Wipe Out, endows a 20% boost to her next attack, while her second Eidolon Resonance, Adamant Charge, boosts her Speed by 10% for two turns.
  • Status Effect-Powered Ability: Two of Pela's upgrades are triggered against debuffed enemies—her second-ascension Bonus Ability, Bash, boosts her damage by 20%, while her sixth Eidolon Resonance, Feeble Pursuit, allows her to deal an extra hit (with damage worth 40% of her Attack stat).
  • The Stoic: Played With. Pela is normally calm and down-to-earth with a monotone way of speaking, befitting her status as an intelligence officer. That is unless any topic regarding her hobbies is brought up, whereupon she'll lose her composure and show her inner fangirl. This is most apparent in her "Knowledge" voice line where she rambles about her favorite book "Tale of the Winterlands" with so much excitement, it's as if she's a different character entirely.
*gasp* "A new edition of the fanbook "Tale of the Winterlands?" That's one of the most sought-after series out there... H—How many copies should I get... Ten? Is ten enough...?"
  • The Unfought: Among the Silvermane Guard higher-ups, Pela is the only one who isn't fought directly despite accompanying Bronya on initial orders to arrest the Astral Express crew, and in general, is mostly absent from the greater scope of the Silvermane's operations to oppose the crew throughout the Jarilo-VI Trailblaze Mission.
  • Weapon Specialization: Pela's associated Light Cone is "Good Night and Sleep Well" (4★), whose "Toiler" passive increases its wearer's damage output by 12–24% for every debuff on their target, which can stack up to thrice (for a maximum of 36–72%) and also includes any damage-over-time effect they might inflict. This effect plays well into Pela's ability to inflict a Defense penalty and complements her increased damage output against debuffed enemies through her subsequent upgrades.

    Miscellaneous Troops

A military organization that maintains peace and security in Belobog, Jarilo-VI, led by the Supreme Guardian. Not long after setting their foot there, the Astral Express crew became wanted people courtesy of Supreme Guardian Cocolia's orders and they have to fight the Guards and their high-ranking members at different parts of the story.

The enemies include: Silvermane Soldier, Silvermane Gunner, Silvermane Cannoneer and Silvermane Lieutenant (elite).

  • Counter-Attack: Silvermane Lieutenant can put their shield up in a defensive position. If they're attacked during this, they'll immediately retaliate with a series of painful stabs. The "bug" version of them in Simulated Universe has a trait in which they'll stay in this position as long as their summoned flunkies aren't defeated yet.
  • Flunky Boss: Silvermane Lieutenants are able to call Soldiers and Gunners to aid them. The "bug" version of them in Simulated Universe are also able to buff their flunkies' attacks by 50% and advance their turn.
  • Herd-Hitting Attack: The Cannoneer's attacks are of the Blast property.
  • Hero Antagonist: They only antagonize the Astral Express crew because of Cocolia's orders; they're otherwise heroic people who are dedicated to the protection of Belobog and to Qlipoth. They stop being antagonistic after Belobog's main story ends.
  • Mook Lieutenant: Lt. Dunn isn't just a literal Silvermane Lieutenant, he's also the only Silvermane NPC with more presence in the story, with him interacting with Serval and your party during your infiltration to Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone.
  • Out-of-Turn Interaction: The Cannoneers have a skill that provides support fire for their allies after the latter performs an attack; this support fire acts like a follow-up attack for your characters, i.e the Cannoneer can perform this attack even when it's not their turn.
  • Status Infliction Attack:
    • The Soldiers' attack will cause your characters to suffer DEF drop.
    • The Gunners' attack can cause Bleed, dealing Damage Over Time.
  • Underground Monkey: Vagrant Thugs in Belobog's Underworld have similar animations to Silvermane Soldiers, but they wield shovels instead of axes. They also have another move that advances the action of another enemy.

Belobog, Underworld

Wildfire

The grassroots peacekeeping body of the Underworld, estabished ten years ago by Oleg, a former Silvermane Guard who chose to stay after both sides have been cut off from each other.

Rarity: 4★
Path: The Nihility
Type: Physical

A prominent member of Wildfire and a boxing champion at the Underworld, well-loved for his optimism and charisma.

Luka punches his way to victory with his emphasis on dishing further punishment on Bleeding foes. His Talent, Flying Sparks, allows him to build up to four stacks of Fighting Will, which are consumed two at a time to upgrade his Basic Attack, Direct Punch, into Sky-Shatter Fist that immediately triggers his target's Bleed damage, and are built with his other single-target attacks—one at a time through either his regular Basic Attack, his Technique, Anticipator, which hits a random foe, or his Skill, Lacerating First, the latter two being additionally able to inflict Bleed, as well as two through his Ultimate, Coup de Grâce, a devastating haymaker that additionally penalizes his target beforehand with a boost to their damage intake for three turns.note
  • An Arm and a Leg: As detailed on his Character Story, Luka lost his right arm when protecting a child from the Fragmentum.
  • Amplifier Artifact: By acquiring his Eidolons, you can upgrade his third and fifth Eidolon Resonances, Born for the Ring and The Spirit of Wildfire, which will add two levels to his Skill and Talent with the former, and two to Ultimate and one to Basic Attack with the latter.
  • Artificial Limbs: He has a metal prosthetic right arm.
  • Beneath the Mask: On the surface, Luka is brash, headstrong, and outgoing person who's always spoiling for a fight. But he also values everyone else's lives more than his own, to the point that he smiles for the first time after losing his arm while trying to save people from the Fragmentum. Others like Natasha note that he pushes himself too hard because he's afraid of becoming a burden on others.
  • Blood Knight: Luka enjoys a good brawl and embarrassed Seele by challenging her to a fight in the heat of the moment. He's disappointed that so many of his fights end in a few swings and is eager to have a match with someone stronger.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Seele is confused when Luka starts shouting the childish, "The Moltammerville warrior, the Boulder City champion, upholding justice and peace again!" after finishing his first "trial" in his Companion Mission. After finishing his second trial, he follows this up with, "The Moltammerville warrior, the Boulder City champion, defeater of evil throughout the world!" Seele has no idea where any of this comes from, as he'd never said anything like this even in the ring. The end of said Mission reveals that these were the intended mottos of Margie, a terminally ill girl who looked up to him, and by reciting these he is keeping her memory alive and helping her fulfill her dreams.
  • Boxing Battler: He often appears in the Fight Club, and his splash art features him winning a boxing match.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Seele and the Trailblazer are taken aback when Luka challenges Svarog to a one-on-one spar. Despite Svarog's reputation as a One-Man Army and the strongest being in the Underworld, Luka goes in headfirst and refuses to back down even when he's clearly outmatched.
  • Catchphrase: His pre-battle catchphrase is, "Let's see some sparks fly!" He often shouts it in a match before landing the winning blow.
  • Damage-Increasing Debuff: His Ultimate increases his target's incoming damage by 12–21.6% for three turns before punching at them.note
  • Defeat Means Friendship: Discussed. According to him, the Fight Club has a saying, "Make friends with the one who hurt you the most." As a star boxer, Luka speculates that this is why everyone wants to be his friend.
  • Does Not Like Spam: He hates vegetables and mushrooms.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He was featured in the Official Release Trailer, the SGF Show Video as well as the "Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat" Light Cone before becoming a playable character.
  • Female Gaze: The "Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat" Light Cone brings attention to his butt, with his front facing away and his expression seemingly inviting the viewer to examine his sweating back.
  • Friend to All Children: Luka is noted to be great with kids, with many of them aspiring to follow his example and be just like him. Hook even calls him a member of the Moles, referring to him as "Luka Strongarm", implying that he plays with them a lot in his downtime.
  • Gathering Steam: His Talent allows Luka to gather up to four stacks of Fighting Will (one at a time whenever he enters battle or he uses either his Basic Attack, Technique, or Skill; two through his Ultimate), which are consumed two at a time to enhance his Basic Attack. His second Eidolon Resonance, The Enemy Is Weak, I am Strong, allows his Skill to build another stack if his target is weak to Physical damage, while his fourth, Never Turning Back, boosts his Attack by 5% per stack (hence a maximum of 20%).
  • Genius Bruiser: In his Companion Mission, Luka, Spirited Competitor extraordinaire, comes to an surprisingly sound conclusion regarding the disappearance of two robots. Given that one of them has an alarm that goes off should anyone unauthorized try to take it, he reasons that the thief broke the robot with the alarm to avoid being caught and took the other. The Trailblazer and Seele are both astonished by his deductive reasoning, to which he brags that he's not all biceps and steel.
  • Hero of Another Story: According to Seele, Luka is responsible for saving many lives as a senior member of Wildfire. But he isn't mentioned or alluded to at all in the Jarilo-VI arc. This is because Luka was on assignment elsewhere in the Underworld, hence why he missed the events of the story.
  • Hot-Blooded: Always spirited and eager to get into action, often shouting loudly.
  • Idiot Hair: He has a single strand of hair that defies gravity, reflecting his cheery nature.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: He has attractive, bubbly, cute, optimistic, yet pure and heroic blue eyes.
  • Invocation:
    (Ultimate activation) "Where's the applause?!"
(Normal speed) "An opponent worth their salt. Let's see some sparks fly!"
(×2 speed) "Let's see some sparks fly!"
  • Major Injury Underreaction: He's remarkably blasé about the loss of his right arm. He claims he can't even recall when he lost it outside of how it was during a defense campaign. But according to him, losing his arm and the subsequent danger that came from it helped him feel truly alive for the first time. In fact, it was the first time Luka, who had been sullen and withdrawn up to that point, had ever smiled in front of Oleg.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: In his Companion Mission, Seele worries for Luka, as he wasn't this much of a headstrong Large Ham the last time she saw him. Later, after Luka gets hospitalized after his spar with Svarog, talking to Oleg reveals that ever since Luka was younger, he tends to have a frown in his face, but after he lost his arm while saving civilians from Fragmentum invasion, he claimed that it was the first time he "felt truly alive" - Oleg summarizes that Luka has always been caring and thinking of others, so Oleg thinks there must be something behind his "personal trials". In the end, it's revealed that those "trials" are actually dedicated to his late friend Margie, who idolized him and dreamed of helping their people by beating back monsters and making Svarog acknowledge her strength and determination.
  • Power Fist: In combat, he wields a huge mechanical gauntlet over his right arm, that he uses to deliver painful punches.
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner:
(Enemy Target Found) "Ha, here comes the appetizer!"
(Battle Begins: Weakness Break) "So! Give up yet?"
(Battle Begins: Danger Alert) "I'm just getting started!"
  • Rapidfire Fisticuffs: Whenever Luka has at least two stacks of Fighting Will, his Basic Attack is enhanced into a three-hit punch followed by an uppercut that triggers any active Bleed debuff.note  With his sixth-ascension Bonus Ability, Crush Fighting Will, each rapid punch has a 50% chance of being repeated one more time (to a maximum of six punches before the uppercut), while his sixth Eidolon Resonance, A Champion's Applause, increases the Bleed damage he triggers by 8% for each rapid punch he throws out (totaling 24-48%).
  • Red Boxing Gloves: He holds a pair of these in his splash art.
  • Red Is Heroic: He has a prominent red Color Motif, and he uses his martial prowess to protect the people of the Underworld.
  • Regenerating Mana: His fourth-ascension Bonus Ability, Cycle Braking, regenerates 3 Energy for every stack of Fighting Will he gains.
  • Rocket Punch: His Skill has Luka fire his mechanical right fist onto his target, in addition to a 100% base chance to inflict Bleed for three turns.note
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: It's implied that fighting the Fragmentum during his days in the frontlines has left some psychological scars.
  • Shirtless Scene: The "Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat" Light Cone focuses on his shirtless back and drops of sweat adorning it.
  • Spirited Competitor: Luka enjoys a good brawl and embarrassed Seele by challenging her to a fight in the heat of the moment. He's disappointed that so many of his fights end in a few swings and is eager to have a match with someone stronger.
  • Status-Buff Dispel: Luka's second-ascension Bonus Ability, Kinetic Overload, allows his Skill to remove one buff from his target.
  • Status Effect-Powered Ability: Aside from his enhanced Basic Attack triggering his target's existing Bleed, his first Eidolon Resonance, Fighting Endlessly, increases his damage output by 15% for two turns whenever he attacks a Bleeding enemy.
  • Stepford Smiler: Luka always has a smile on his face that hides a sea of emotional baggage. The heaviest one involves a sick girl named Margie, one of his fans. She aspired to be strong like him, strong enough to beat up Svarog, but was bedridden due to an illness she eventually succumbed to. Luka's spent his life trying to get stronger just so he can fulfill her dream of besting him one-on-one, but he has yet to succeed.
  • Taking Up the Mantle: Back in his native Moltammerville, Luka befriended Margie, a Delicate and Sickly girl who who was a big fan of his and wanted to be just like him. After she succumbed to her illness, her father gave him her notebook filled filled with her hopes and dreams. The three trials he put himself through for "training" are his attempts to fulfill her dreams: helping people in the Underworld, beating up the Fragmentum monsters that threatened them, and defeating Svarog to reopen the path to the Overworldnote . His hammy and childish post-victory slogans are recited verbatim from her notes.
  • Weapon Specialization: Luka's associated Light Cone is "Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat" (4★), whose "Glance Back" passive gives its wearer's attacks a 60–100% base chance to inflict the Ensnare effect (unless the target already has one), which reduces their Defense by 12–16% for one turn. This allows Luka to maximize his damage output by softening up his enemies.

Rarity: 5★
Path: The Hunt
Type: Quantum

A prominent member of Wildfire. Raised as an orphan on the lawless streets of Rivet Town before being taken in by Oleg, Seele prefers to act first then ask questions later, and puts everything she has on the line to keep the peace in the Underworld with her trusty scythe. Due to the Supreme Guardian's decree cutting off communication and travel between the Overworld and the Underworld early in her childhood, Seele harbors a deep-seated resentment of Overworlders—an icy surface that slowly begins to break when she gets to know Cocolia's daughter, Bronya.

Seele swiftly dispatches her foes with her scythe, and is capable to enter a "buffed state" that raises her damage output for one turn, through various means: with her Technique, Phantom Illusion, she can enter Stealth Mode, rendering her immune to enemy detection and allowing her to enter the state at the start of battle; with her Talent, Resurgence, which grants her an extra turn with the state active whenever she defeats her target; and her Ultimate, Butterfly Flurry, where she enters the state before warping all over her target and hacking away at them. Her Skill, Sheathed Blade, is a series of quick slashes around her target that additionally boosts her Speed for two turns.note

  • Alternate Self: of Seele Vollerei from Honkai Impact 3rd as well as its predecessor game Guns GirlZ, complete with similar clothing, but with an aggressive personality that is closer to "Dark Seele." This Seele is also a Quantum-type like her HI3 counterpart.
  • Amplifier Artifact: By acquiring her Eidolons, you can upgrade her third and fifth Eidolon Resonances, Dazzling Tumult and Piercing Shards, which will add two levels to her Skill and Talent with the former, and two to her Ultimate and one to Basic Attack (Thwack) with the latter.
  • Animal Motifs: Butterflies, just like her HI3rd counterpart. As shown in her "Uneventful Night" trailer, she's called the "Butterfly of Tempest," purple butterflies appear as particle effects whenever she teleports or attacks, she lets a butterfly land on her hand during her Idle Animation, and near the end of that trailer, she grows phantasmal butterfly wings on her back. Her alias in the Underworld is "Babochka," meaning "butterfly." They also appear in her character splash artwork, her longcoat is reminiscent of butterfly wings, and the red ribbon on her left arm is shaped like a red butterfly. The icons of her four Combat Skills, two Bonus Abilities, and four Eidolon Resonances all have butterfly wings; her Ultimate is named "Butterfly Flurry"; and when unleashing the latter, she always says "Disappear among the sea of butterflies... illusions of the past!" Then in Bronya's fourth Character Story, Seele is also described as a "woman looking like a butterfly."
  • Atomic Superpower: As a counterpart of Seele Vollerei, Seele weaponizes quantum-based abilities, mainly space-time manipulation to achieve Super-Speed and to attack from multiple directions at once despite her radically different upbringing as an orphan in a steampunk industrial mining town.
  • Badass Longcoat: Her longcoat resembles a butterfly, fitting for her tougher exterior in contrast with her gentler Honkai Impact 3rd counterpart.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Her first introduction involves her slicing apart a bullet being shot at Bronya with her Ultimate.
  • Book Dumb: Being a street orphan, she naturally did not receive education and thus hates reading. After "Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream" where the planet barely escaped the threat of the vastly more advanced IPC taking over, Seele admits that not every problem can be solved with violence and thus resolves to study more to become more helpful to the people and Bronya.
  • Chain Lethality Enabler: Her Talent grants her an Extra Turn whenever any of her attacks score a kill, as well as puts her in a buffed state which gives her a 40–100% damage boost. In addition, her fourth-ascension Bonus Ability, Lacerate, adds a 20% boost to the Quantum Resistance Penalty of her attacks whenever she enters said buffed state. She cannot trigger her Talent again if she defeats another enemy during the extra turn, but the effect triggered by her Basic Attack/Skill and Ultimate are considered separate from each other, potentially allowing her to act four times per turn. Also, the extra turn won't deplete the buffs on her that have per-turn duration.
  • Cooldown Manipulation: Her sixth-ascension Bonus Ability, Rippling Waves, allows her Basic Attack to advance her next turn by 20%.
  • Criss-Cross Attack: Her Ultimate has her rushing towards her target and performing blindingly fast dashing slashes from many directions at once.note  Prior to the move, she'll also enter the buffed state similar to her Talent.
  • Critical Hit Class:
    • One of three stats Seele can upgrade via her Trace tree is her Critical Damage, with her getting a 24% boost once fully unlocked.
    • Her first Eidolon Resonance, Extirpating Slash, gives her a 15% Critical Rate boost when attacking enemies with no more than 80% HP.
  • Encounter Repellent: Her Technique renders her invisible and undetectable by enemies for twenty seconds, resets their Alertness Blink if she has been noticed beforehand, and allows her to enter the buffed state once she initiates combat.
  • Excellent Judge of Character: In "Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream", when the Trailblazer and March 7th go around on Bronya's behalf to collect votes from the people to "go with freedom or security" and end with a tie, they consult Seele, thinking her opinion will matter a lot. After explaining the matter to her, she decides... to abstain, saying the responsibility of making the decision should rest on the new Supreme Guardian and she shouldn't be influencing her decision too much, while also saying she'll support Bronya's decision, whatever it may be. Upon returning to give the vote's results to Bronya, the latter predictably asks about Seele's opinion, and they truthfully relay her abstention to let Bronya decide for herself. In short, Seele knows she'll be a big influence in Bronya's decision-making and thus chose to step out of it to ensure her neutrality.
  • Exposed to the Elements: Despite her outfit leaving her cleavage, shoulders, and a majority of her legs exposed, Seele never shows any discomfort dealing with Belobog's extreme cold, as shown in the later part of Jarilo-VI's Trailblaze Mission.
  • Flash Step: Seele can perform short-ranged teleportations, a feat which is best demonstrated in a cutscene when she rushed in to help the Trailblazer climb the Engine of Creation. In combat, she just teleports to her target whenever she uses her Skill, then teleports back to her original position afterwards.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Despite being Book Dumb, almost illiterate and having no education, when recruited as a tour guide for the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities" limited-time event, her Educational Value stat is a decent 72.
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: Downplayed, but for all her tomboyish traits, Seele still hits this. One Express chat, after taking a tour of March's room and feeling inspired by the train's overall design, has her gleefully express how she wants a life-sized Pom-Pom doll because they're so soft and fluffy, promptly losing track of the conversation.
  • Glass Cannon: Seele is very fast and hits incredibly hard, and can build up quite the streak when she gets going, but she has poor durability as a Hunt Pathstrider.
  • Hates Reading: In one of her text message conversations, she admits she's not fond of reading because it's tiring and uses her brain power. Bronya also gave her a huge list of book recommendations, but she ends up getting drowsy just by going through a few pages. This is a Mythology Gag to "Dark Seele" of Honkai Impact 3rd; Bronya of that game once noted that Seele may sometimes quickly fell asleep not long after reading books, when she normally enjoys reading, which is a sign of "Dark Seele" taking over.
  • Idiot Hair: Sports a small one above her forehead.
  • Invocation:
(Ultimate activation) "I'll free you from your chains."
(Normal speed and ×2 speed) "Disappear among the sea of butterflies... illusions of the past!"
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Seele is a tough, harsh, and aggressive girl, especially towards Bronya when they first meet, but as the story goes on, she starts to soften up quite a bit after she learns that Bronya was an Undergrounder like her, and the two become close.
  • Leotard of Power: It's a little hard to notice under the rest of her clothing and accessories, but the innermost layer of her outfit is a skintight white leotard.
  • Mana Drain: Seele's fourth Eidolon Resonance, Flitting Phantasm, restores 15 Energy whenever she defeats an enemy.
  • Meaningful Name: During the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities", she mentions that Oleg gave her the name "Seele," with him claiming that it's an old Belobogian word for "soul." She interprets it as her being an elusive "phantom" towards troublemakers in the Underworld.
  • Navel Outline: Courtesy of her skintight leotard. Emphasized more as Seele's navel and abs are sculpted as part of her character model, with her muscle tone made more apparent when they are highlighted by light and shadows from certain angles.
  • One-Handed Zweihänder: Several of Seele's attack animations have her swing her scythe with one hand with no difficulty despite it being nearly as long as she is tall.
  • Only One Name: During the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities" event, she specifically states that she has no surname when the Trailblazer is helping her fill out a resumé. The Trailblazer can decide to take this literally and list her as "Seele No-Last-Name". In previous Honkai games, her surname was "Vollerei" that means "gluttony."
  • Purple Is Powerful: She's one of the strongest members of Wildfire and a powerful DPS unit overall, and her hair, eyes, Badass Longcoat, scythe, and the flash she emits when using her powers are all purple in color.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Her eyes briefly turn red when unleashing her Ultimate.
  • Reduce Aggro: Seele's second-ascension Bonus Ability, Nightshade, reduces her risk of being attacked whenever she has no more than half her HP.
  • Reverse Grip: She holds her scythe with its blade pointed towards the ground in her idle animation in battle and swings it while held in an ice sickle grip in some of her attack animations.
  • Rummage Sale Reject: In contrast to how most of the Undergrounders dress, both playable and NPC, Seele's outfit stands out quite a bit, having many mixed-and-matched elements thrown together and full of asymmetry.
  • Secret-Keeper: By the end of the Jarilo-VI Trailblaze Mission, she's the only native besides Bronya to know that Cocolia had been corrupted by the Stellaron and was plotting to destroy humanity, agreeing to take this knowledge to the grave.
  • Sinister Scythe: Like her H I3rd counterpart, she wields a scythe in battle.
  • Sliding Scale of Gameplay and Story Integration: By the end of the Jarilo-VI Trailblaze Mission, Bronya and Seele become Vitriolic Best Buds, if not outright True Companions. Seele, whose unique ability is to get an Extra Turn upon defeating an enemy, can take advantage of Bronya's action advance and buff to quickly finish off one (or two) enemy unit(s) and/or deal additional damage to bosses. This synergy encourages players to put both of them in the same party. After v1.4, one of the special tutorials are dedicated to the two of them, showcasing their synergy.
  • Sprint Shoes: Her Skill boosts her Speed by 25% for two turns, in addition to dealing damage via blitzing around her target while slashing them from different sides. note  Her second Eidolon Resonance, Dancing Butterfly, allows the speed boost to be stacked twice (for a total of 50%).
  • Status Effect-Powered Ability: Seele's sixth Eidolon Resonance, Shattering Shambles, gives her Ultimate the ability to mark its target with a debuff that deals additional damage (worth 15% of that of the Ultimate) whenever they are attacked until Seele's next turn, though this will not trigger her Talent should the foe fall from it.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: She is a tough and aggressive rebel from the streets, while Bronya is a stoic, polite, and well-educated Proper Lady raised in luxury. Despite some initial conflict, the two eventually became fast friends.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Bronya. Despite their close friendship, it's not uncommon for them to get into arguments with each other over various differences in opinion.
  • Weapon Specialization: Seele's associated Light Cone is "In the Night" (5★), whose "Flowers and Butterflies" passive increases its wearer's Critical Rate by 18–30%, as well as builds up to six stacks of a 6–10% damage boost to their Basic Attack and Skill and a 12–20% boost to the Critical Damage of their Ultimate for every ten points of their Speed stat above 100 (for a maximum of 36–60% to the former and 72–120% to the latter), hence capitalizing on Seele's naturally high base Speed of 115 as well as incentivizing players to make her faster, and thus deadlier at the same time.
  • Workaholic: Seele has spent so much of her life keeping the peace in the Underground as part of Wildfire that after the separation of the Underworld and Overworld is lifted, she chose to stay in the Underworld and keep doing her usual work of helping its people. If you talk to Bronya in Qlipoth Fort, she mentions that both her and Seele have their own areas of responsibilities, and both can respect that.

    Oleg

Oleg

The leader of Wildfire and a former Silvermane Guard.
  • I Choose to Stay: Oleg is the retired captain of the Silvermane Guard detachment at the Underworld, but when the Guards were called off to the Overworld for the blockade, he decided to use his work experience to create and manage a peacekeeping organization in the Guards' absence.
  • Number Two: While on paper he is leading the organization, in truth he is acting on behalf of Natasha, who prefers to keep her affiliation under wraps lest it conflict with her day job as doctor.
  • Promotion to Parent: Seele's second Character Story anecdote, as well as the artwork for the Light Cone "We Are Wildfire," imply that Oleg was her father figure since childhood.
  • We Help the Helpless: As the leader of Underworld grassroots peacekeeping group, he also mobilizes his members to help the populace in their daily lives. He's usually a few hands short, however, which the Moles see as an advantage to make the effort to help people and spread the name of the gang in the process. Oleg secretly knew of their activities and is proud of them for being good, helpful kids.

Rarity: 5★
Path: The Destruction
Type: Physical

Clara is a young girl who considers the Underworld robots her family and walks around barefooted. She is accompanied by Svarog, a humanoid robot and veteran of the Antimatter Legion invasion, who has grown distant from humanity and its foibles.

Clara puts herself in harm's way to trick her foes into incurring Svarog's wrath, with her Technique, A Small Price for Victory, manually increasing enemy aggression towards her for the first two turns of combat. Her Talent, Because We're Family, reduces all damage directly aimed at her, as well as encourages Svarog to fire a Counter laser on her attackers, inflicting upon them Marks of Counter which are then consumed to increase their damage intake from her Skill, Svarog Watches Over You, where she asks the latter to fire missiles on all their foes. Her Ultimate, Promise, Not Command, has her cry out to Svarog for protection, increasing her damage reduction and enemy aggression towards her, as well as enhancing the next two instances of Counter, extending their damage radius to foes on either side of Svarog's target as well as encouraging him to counter on behalf of their allies.note

Shared Tropes

  • Amplifier Artifact: By acquiring her Eidolons, you can upgrade her third and fifth Eidolon Resonances, Cold Steel Armor and A Small Promise, which will add two levels to her Skill and and one to Basic Attack (I Want to Help) with the former, and two to her Ultimate and Talent with the latter.
  • Anti-Debuff: Clara's second- and fourth-ascension Bonus Abilities, Kinship and Under Protection, give her, respectively, a 35% chance to remove a debuff placed on her whenever she is attacked, and a 35% boost to resistance against crowd-control debuffs.
  • Badass and Child Duo: Svarog is the Badass to Clara's Child, the former doing all the pummeling and the latter commanding him from a distance.
  • Beat Them at Their Own Game: Against Guardian Shadows, Clara flips their "ban and counter" strategy almost completely against them, with Physical attacks which breach their weakness, damage reduction to soak their attacks better than many other characters, and even more damage with her own counter. She obliterates Destruction Trotters in the Simulated Universe in the same way, countering all their counterattacks; however, the aforementioned Trotter's counterattacks will hit the whole party instead of just her, so unless they have high HP and/or Defense as well as survival skills, this scenario can become ugly.
  • Counter-Attack: Svarog will retaliate against anyone who dares attack Clara and inflict Marks of Counter on them (which are consumed to increase the power of her Skill), with its damage potency tied to her Talent, note  while her Ultimate buffs up the next two instances of his counter, increasing its damage radius to foes on either side of his target and encouraging him to retaliate on behalf of their allies.note  In addition, her sixth-ascension Bonus Ability, Revenge, gives a 30% damage boost to Svarog's counterattacks, while her sixth Eidolon Resonance, Long Company, grants Svarog a 50% chance to retaliate on behalf of Clara's allies even outside her Ultimate, as well as extends the number of his enhanced counterattacks to three.
  • Damage-Increasing Debuff: Her Talent makes Svarog inflict the Mark of Counter on any who dare attack Clara, which doubles the damage potency of her Skill against them, note  but also removes the Mark unless she has unlocked her first Eidolon Resonance, A Tall Figure, which allows the Marks to linger on even after using her Skill, effectively rendering them permanent.
  • Damage Reduction: Her Talent reduces all direct damage against Clara by 10%, while her Ultimate provides a further 15–27% reduction.
  • Defense Mechanism Superpower: Her fourth Eidolon Resonance, Family's Warmth, provides a 30% damage reduction whenever she gets hit, which is reset on her next turn.
  • The Dividual: While Svarog is the one doing the actual fighting, the two are considered a single unit.
  • Draw Aggro: Both her Ultimate and Technique increase the chance of enemies to target Clara for two turns, with the former also providing Damage Reduction.
  • Expy: One of Illyasviel "Illya" von Einzbern and Berserker from Fate/stay night, confirmed in an interview with Kinoko Nasu and David Jiang.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Even when Svarog goes away with Topaz in search for "valuable assets", nothing stops you from using Clara in combat.
  • Go Through Me: A teary-eyed Clara puts herself between Natasha's grenade launcher and a damaged Svarog when it seemed like negotiations with the latter have failed. Fortunately, Clara convinces Svarog that those on the opposing side are actually allies who just want to resolve the issue with Jarilo-VI's Stellaron.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: A platonic example of this trope, with Svarog towering over most of the main party and Clara being child-sized.
  • The Kid with the Remote Control: Clara's combat style involves calling on Svarog to do the fighting for her, with Svarog being her Guardian Entity that only fights out of a duty to protect her. There's even a tinge of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure-style Fighting Spirit in their visual aesthetic, with Svarog always being near Clara shrouded by an Invisibility Cloak until he needs to appear and attack.
  • Mighty Glacier: Svarog is capable of blowing holes in the enemy with his Counter-Attack, and she appropriately has ways to reduce incoming damage to improve her survivability, but Clara's her Speed is a below-average 90 points, which means she takes longer to take her turn. However, said slowness is also to her advantage, giving her more chances to trick her foes into attacking her and risk earning Marks of Counter for their trouble.
  • Mirror Match:
    • A weirder take compared to other playable characters who are also bosses. Since Svarog does the fighting for Clara as a playable character, if you have the latter in your roster and want to have her fight Svarog's boss self in story missions, the Simulated Universe, or the Forgotten Hall, go ahead, the game won't stop you, which would result in the odd sight of seeing boss Svarog shooting lasers at the little girl he's supposed to be protecting, only for another Svarog to shoot lasers back to him in retaliation.
    • In the "Underground Treasure Hunt" event, you can also take Svarog to fight against an identical robot, Monitoring Automaton Prototype 2.
  • Status Buff: Clara's second Eidolon Resonance, A Tight Embrace, allows her Ultimate to boost her Attack stat by 30% for two turns.
  • Violation of Common Sense: Due to Clara's Counter-Attack-oriented playstyle, players are incentivized to use Draw Aggro abilities to attract enemies to her, a small child.
  • Weapon Specialization: Clara's associated Light Cone is "Something Irreplaceable" (5★), whose "Kinship" passive increases its wearer's Attack stat by 24–40%, and when they defeat an enemy or is attacked in-between their turns (can only be triggered 1 time per turn), their damage output is raised by 24–40% and they receive healing equal to 8–12% of their Attack stat. This helps further boost the power of Svarog's Counter-Attack, as well as improves her survivability against tougher opponents by giving her a minor self-healing ability.

Tropes exclusive to Clara

  • The Cutie: Clara is an adorable and sweet young girl who just wants everyone to get along and be happy.
  • Emoticon: Clara tends to use kaomojis when she types.
  • Exposed to the Elements: Despite living on a planet where it's so cold and snowy that exposed skin or even just wearing thin clothing is a health hazard, Clara goes around everywhere shoeless and bare-legged, yet never complains or even makes note of the rough ground or chill.
  • Happily Adopted: She's perfectly content with being Svarog's ward to the point where she insists to him that she isn't really interested in finding her biological family, claiming that she already has a family.
  • Invocation:
(Ultimate activation) "I want to help everyone too."
(Normal speed and ×2 speed) "Help me, Mr. Svarog!"
  • Morality Pet: She acts as one to Svarog, being the only human he has formed a close connection with and is willing to protect on an individual level.
  • Nice Girl: Clara is a friendly young lady who just wants everyone to get along, humans and machines alike.
  • Parental Abandonment: Svarog found her as a toddler at a dumpsite and decided to raise her as his own when it was evident that whoever left her there wasn't coming back for her.
  • Prefers Going Barefoot: According to one message, she was gifted a pair of shoes from the "Clara Protection Society." She says that she keeps twisting her ankle whenever she goes around wearing shoes, so she's not used to wearing them.
  • Raised by Robots: Clara is a vagrant orphan who grew up with Svarog and his robots for her entire life, and because of her experience, she can better understand them than most other people. Due to this, she is a lot more rational and intelligent than your average child.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility: After the end of Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream, Clara reveals that Topaz gave her the "Source Code" that the latter once used to override the command of the robots of Belobog. She acknowledges that it's a great power, and Svarog told her that it will put a very heavy burden on whoever holds it; she wishes that she'd never face a time where she needs to use it, and she resolves to protect it from falling onto the wrong hands.
  • Wrench Wench: To a lesser extent than Serval but Clara is very skilled at working with machinery, most likely due to growing up among robots. She is so skilled in fact that she can maintain and repair many of the robots by herself and only needs to ask Svarog for help when the issues are software related.

Tropes exclusive to Svarog

  • Actor Allusion: This is not the first time D.C. Douglas and Hiroki Yasumoto have voiced a one-eyed robot. And the same character in different dubs, no less.
  • Arm Cannon: He can fire lasers from his palm, as seen in Clara's Talent and Technique. As a boss, this attack can delay the next action of his target.
  • Badass Longcoat: Though he probably doesn't need it, Svarog wears a long, stylish coat, complete with matching pants and shoes.
  • Badass Fingersnap: Does one of these when he summons robots to fight alongside him.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Due to being a machine, while Svarog does want to protect humanity, he can only execute plans with the highest likelihood of success. This means that some actions he takes, such as chasing all humans out of the Geomarrow mines to prevent infighting over the possession of the Geomarrow inside, don't make sense or seem completely counter productive to humans.
  • Cyber Cyclops: Has only one red glowing mechanical eye.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: After the party defeats him, he becomes convinced that they are indeed unique variables to resolving the conflict, and grants them important information on Jarilo-VI's Stellaron and grants you access to the Furnace Core route that will, in-story, allow you to return to the Administrative District and the Overworld.
  • The Empath: Svarog's systems can determine if a person's emotions are sincere. That's partly why he helps Topaz despite disagreeing with her plan (the other parts are that he sees himself as a "tool" and doesn't consider his own opinions as having weight, and that he senses a big probability of compliance through force if he refuses to cooperate).
  • Flunky Boss:
    • As a boss, Svarog can summon giant robot hands to aid him. Said robot hands can capture one of your characters, making them unable to act until you inflict Weakness Break on the capturing hand. Svarog can also command them to self-destruct on top of your characters after a turn. As they're directly controlled by Svarog, said hands cannot act even if their turn comes if he is currently Weakness Broken. There's an achievement you can get by destroying 4 of those robot hands in a single battle.
    • In Simulated Universe, he can summon Automaton Beetles and Hounds in the first phase, and Direwolves in the second.
  • Gentle Giant:
    • Downplayed. He's a loving father to Clara, tries to dance with Hook in the Dance! Dance! Dance! light cone, and has been seen praising two children for their efforts in bringing him partsnote . Towards everyone else, however, he's rather cold and calculating, showing no hesitation in destroying them if he finds them to be a threat. Gameplay-wise, he only extends his protection to the rest of the party after using Clara's ult, where she begs him for his help.
    • According to Natasha, he was deliberately holding back when Luka challenged him to a sparring.
  • Good Parents: For a hyper-logical robot, Svarog is a shockingly good parent who believes that Clara's emotional and social development is just as important as her mental and physical development. One of the memories he considers important is the record of her befriending Hook.
  • He Knows Too Much: Svarog is the only one besides the Supreme Guardian and the Architects to know the truth behind the Stellaron on Jarilo-VI, but considers the info so confidential that, when the Nameless and their allies try to negotiate it out of him, his threat assessment reaches high enough levels to consider eliminating them despite Clara's intercessions. Only after a tough battle that requires Sampo bringing in Natasha to help that Svarog factors in the variables in his calculations, and he finally agrees to tell the crew and everyone else what he knows about the Stellaron, as well as let them through to the Furnace Core so they can return to the Overworld and deal with it.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: Luka challenges Svarog to a one-on-one during the former's story quest, which ends up being completely one-sided in Svarog's favor despite him holding back.
  • Invisibility Cloak: In gameplay, Svarog is typically hiding with some sort of cloaking tech and only appears to defend Clara.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Svarog doesn't try to stop Topaz and the IPC when they arrive to set up shop on Jarilo-VI, knowing that trying to oppose the MegaCorp would be futile.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: Clara's Skill has Svarog fire a salvo of missiles at their enemies. He can also do this in his boss fight, letting him deal substantial damage to all of your characters.
  • Narrator: All four of Clara's Character Story anecdotes are written from Svarog's point-of-view.
  • Not So Stoic: While Svarog is usually serious and logic-driven, he does take time to do a little dance with Clara in their idle animation, as well as Hook in the Dance! Dance! Dance! light cone flavor text.
  • Papa Wolf: Svarog will do anything to protect Clara, and this reflects in their gameplay, whereupon he fires lasers on all who dare hurt Clara, whose Ultimate empowers his next two counterattacks and encourages him to retaliate on behalf of their other allies.
  • Parental Substitute: Svarog adopted Clara after finding her in the landfill of Boulder Town and is effectively her father in all the ways that matter. The two openly describe each other as family. Even then, one of Svarog's personal goals is finding her real family.
  • Playing a Tree: Clara is annoyed that Svarog only ever seems to want to play trees or rocks when she gets him to act out movies with her.
  • Prescience by Analysis: Svarog acts based on his calculations on what the future will be. For this reason, he's conspired to keep the Underworlders underground, as he believes that the Overworld will perish in due time. But the Astral Express crew confronts him with the folly of this logic: even if he can calculate the future with reasonable accuracy, said calculations are rendered pointless if a new, significant variable (like the Astral Express) enters the equation.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Svarog is at least 700 years old, having originally been built to fight the Antimatter Legion's invasion of Jarilo-VI.
  • Verbal Tic: Svarog tends to pepper his sentences with what many people usually identify as Robo Speak, such as "analysis complete".
  • Wake-Up Call Boss: If the first and previous boss battles didn't teach it enough already, Svarog's boss fight will reinforce the idea that you might need to deal with the boss's summoned minions instead of unleashing everything on the boss. At certain points, Svarog will bring out giant robotic hands that capture one of your party members, making them unable to be controlled or healed unless the hand is dealt with first.
  • World's Strongest Man: Svarog is widely recognized as the single most powerful force in the Underworld. His presence alone, nevermind his robot army, has deterred all attempts to return to the Overworld. He's only defeated by the combined strength of the Trailblazer, Dan Heng, March 7th, Seele, Bronya, Sampo, and Natasha, the leader of Wildfire, and even then the fight was cutting it close. Later on, Luka, another senior member of Wildfire, challenges Svarog to a one-on-one spar and is soundly defeated even though Svarog is noted to be holding back.

Rarity: 4★
Path: The Destruction
Type: Fire

The adventurous self-proclaimed leader of the Moles, a group of friendly little troublemakers in the Underworld.

Hook digs away at her foes with her trusty mechanical gauntlet Diggertron, with an emphasis on pulling further mischief on Burnt foes. Her Technique and Skill, respectively Ack! Look at This Mess! and Hey! Remember Hook?, have a high chance of inflicting Burn—the former, for three turns on all foes, while simultaneously damaging a random foe; the latter, for two turns against her target—allowing her to take advantage of her Talent, Ha! Oil to the Flames!, which adds an auxiliary strike whenever she attacks Burnt foes. Her Ultimate, Boom! Here Comes the Fire!, has her drive Diggertron onto a foe and plant an explosive, as well as enhances her next use of her Skill to expand its damage radius to foes around her target.note
  • Amplifier Artifact: By acquiring her Eidolons, you can upgrade her third and fifth Eidolon Resonances, Don't Be Picky, Nothing's Icky and Let the Moles' Deeds Be Known, which will add two levels to her Skill and one to Basic Attack (Hehe! Don't Get Burned!) with the former, and two to her Ultimate and Talent with the latter.
  • Anti-Debuff: Her fourth-ascension Bonus Ability, Naivete, reduces her risk of contracting crowd-control debuffs by 35%.
  • Badass Adorable: Hook is a little child with some mean skills in blasting her enemies away.
  • Book Dumb: Struggles with formal education. Fittingly, in the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities" event, when recruited as a tour guide, her Educational Value score is zero.
  • Company Cross References: Similarly to Klee of Genshin Impact, Hook is a mischievous child dressed in warm-color clothing (i.e., yellow to Klee's red) and associated with fire and explosives.
  • Cooldown Manipulation: Hook's sixth-ascension Bonus Ability, Playing With Fire, advances her next turn by 20% after using her Ultimate, as well as restores 5 Energy.
  • Critical Hit Class: One of three stats Hook can upgrade via her Trace tree is her Critical Damage, with her getting a 13.3% boost once fully unlocked.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Hook has bright yellow hair and matching yellow eyes.
  • Cute Bruiser: Hook is an adorable little girl who packs an incredible punch with her giant gauntlet.
  • The Cutie: She's for the most part just a Cheerful Child trying to make the best of life in the Underworld. It's hard to be mad at her for the mischief she gets up to because she's just trying to help.
  • Daddy's Girl: She adores her adoptive father Fersman and will do anything to make him happy.
  • Damage Over Time: Her Skill and Technique inflict Burn on, respectively her target for two turns and all enemies for three turns.note  Her second Eidolon Resonance, Happy Tummy, Happy Body, extends the duration of Burn inflicted by the former to three turns (hence making it last as long as those inflicted by her Technique), while her fourth, It's Okay to Not Know, allows her to inflict Burn on enemies adjacent to her target should she trigger her Talent.
  • EX Special Attack: Her Ultimate enhances the damage potency and radius of the next use of her Skill.note  Her first Eidolon Resonance, Early to Bed, Early to Rise, adds a 20% damage boost to the enhanced Skill.
  • Foreshadowing: Awfully ironic for Hook to be absent from a gaming tournament being hosted in the Underworld. And what's this talk about a mysterious "Elite Player"?
  • Gift of the Magi Plot: At the end of her Companion Mission line, Hook sells her gem-eyed childhood teddy bear, Junjun, to earn enough money to buy a Geomarrow Probe for Fersman's birthday so he can repair his vein detector tool. But when the date of their shared birthday rolls around, it turns out he sold his vein detector to buy decorative clothes for Junjun. The achievement you get for completing her quest line is even named after the Trope Namer.
  • Happily Adopted: She was an orphan that Fersman adopted and the two are incredibly close.
  • Having a Blast: Her Ultimate has Hook drive Diggertron on her enemy and plant a landmine that explodes on their face, in addition to enhancing the next use of her Skill.note
  • Insult of Endearment: She always refers to Natasha as "The Old Witch" because she finds Natasha a bit scary, but it’s clear it’s meant to be affectionate and she carefully avoids using that nickname in front of her.
  • Invocation:
(Ultimate activation) "Follow Hook if you wanna win!"
(Normal speed) "Pitch-Dark Hook the Great has arrived — make, way, make way... Woo-hoo~ BANG!"
    (×2 speed) "Dadadadadadadada... BAM!!!"
  • King of Games: She's revealed to be the "Elite Player" of the "Aetherium Wars" event that's been hyped up throughout the story.
  • The Magnificent: She refers to herself as "Pitch-Dark Hook the Great."
  • Malaproper: She likes to talk big but tends to stumble on complicated words, which adds a touch of cute awkwardness to her character.
  • Meaningful Name: ''Hook is the name of a punch in boxing, which is fitting since Hook uses a Power Fist in battle.
  • Mighty Glacier: Though not to the extent of Clara, Hook's base Speed is slightly below-average at 96, though she compensates by hitting hard and having some form of self-sustain to keep her alive.
  • My Rules Are Not Your Rules: When you fight her as "Elite Player", she has two waves of Aether Spirits instead of one, and fields two Overlord Spirits in the second wave, something that you cannot do.
  • Power Fist: She attacks with Diggertron, a massive claw-like mining tool. Her personal story reveals that Clara helped her find it.
  • Sliding Scale of Gameplay and Story Integration: In the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities" event, Hook, being a young child who lacks an education, has an appropriate Educational Value score of zero, but her Tour Duration and Visitor Appeal stats are both markedly high to make up for it, representing her boundless energy, wealth of free time, and adorable personality.
  • Status Effect-Powered Ability:
    • Her Talent allows Hook to deal additional damage against Burnt enemies, note  as well as restores 5 Energy. In addition, her second-ascension Bonus Ability, Innocence, allows it to restore her HP (worth 5% of its maximum value) whenever it is triggered.
    • Her sixth Eidolon Resonance, Always Ready to Punch and Kick, boosts her damage output by 20% against Burnt enemies.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: She gives herself a fancy nickname and talks of her little gang of kids as if they were the most powerful organization in the Underworld. Unlike most examples, though, this trait ends up making Hook adorable and endearing, since she is essentially a child who likes to have big fantasies- not to mention, the Moles do end up helping Underworld denizens to a small extent. When it comes to "Aetherium Wars" on the other hand, her reputation as the "Elite Player" isn't just self-proclaimed.
  • Square Race, Round Class: Despite being classified as a Destruction Pathstrider, in practice Hook plays more like Nihility or Hunt, with her moveset revolving around dealing extra damage to targets inflicted with Burn with Hook having both her Skill and Technique to apply it herself. Her sole method of attacking more than one enemy is a single cast of her empowered Skill after using her ultimate. Otherwise, her damage is strictly single-target.
  • Token Mini-Moe: Hook is the youngest and shortest of the playable Jarilo-VI cast.
  • Weapon Specialization: Hook's associated Light Cone is "The Moles Welcome You" (4★), whose "Fantastic Adventure" passive allows its wearer to gather one stack of "Mischievous" for their first use of offensive Basic Attack, Skill, or Ultimate each in a battle. Each stack increases their Attack stat by 12–24% and this can stack up to three times. This is a solid fit for Hook's purely offensive kit and the synergy between her Ultimate, Skill, and Talent.

Rarity: 4★
Path: The Abundance
Type: Physical

A motherly doctor operating a clinic in Boulder Town. An Underworlder by birth before she was adopted by the famed Harrower family of doctors in the Overworld, she has since returned to care for its people, especially in the wake of both sides of Belobog being cut off from each other in recent years.

Befitting her profession, Natasha is a dedicated healer, her offensive capabilities limited to firing shots from her grenade launcher courtesy of her Basic Attack, Behind the Kindness, and her Technique, Hypnosis Research, which hits a random foe as well as inflicts all foes with the Weaken effect for the first of battle that reduces their damage output. Her Skill, Love, Heal, and Choose, is a single-target heal that continues healing them for two turns afterwards, while her Ultimate, Gift of Rebirth, has her toss a stuffed teddy bear that she blows up with her launcher to rain down healing confetti onto the party; all her healing potencies are enhanced through her Talent, Innervation, for allies with dangerously low HP.note
  • Affectionate Nickname: "Nat", courtesy of Seele.
  • Alternate Self: Of Raven, née Natasha Cioara, of Honkai Impact 3rd. Like Raven, this Natasha has raised orphans, but are opposites in profession, with Raven being an assassin and Natasha a doctor. Also, just like her HI3rd counterpart, Natasha used to have an older brother who suffered a tragic fate that continues to haunt her.
  • Amplifier Artifact: By acquiring her Eidolons, you can upgrade her third and fifth Eidolon Resonances, The Right Cure and Preventive Treatment, which will add two levels to her Skill and and one to Basic Attack with the former, and her Ultimate and Talent with the latter.
  • Anti-Debuff: Her second-ascension Bonus Ability, Soothe, allows her Skill to remove one debuff from her target ally.
  • Berserk Button: According to the description of the Space Anchor near her clinic, Natasha has no tolerance for people who pretend to be sick, as there are too many people in the Underworld who actually need her treatment.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Natasha is very kind and motherly; however, do not mistake that for her being a pushover. Pressing her Berserk Buttons is a very bad idea. She was also prepared to obliterate Svarog with her grenade launcher (while displaying an uncharacteristic snarl)... before standing down without hesitation when Clara tearfully begs her and the Trailblazer's party not to hurt Svarog.
  • BFG: Her weapon is a massive Grenade Launcher.
  • Boring, but Practical: She's about as straightforward of a healer as you can get, meaning that while her abilities are nothing fancy, they do their job reliably well in ensuring the party's survival.
  • Cain and Abel: The Abel to Vache's Cain, who was a doctor obsessed with creating a medicine that would help people stave off the cold of Jarilo-VI to the point that he indirectly used his patients as test subjects, distributing experimental medication with grievous side-effects.
  • Combat Medic: Downplayed. She may be a doctor with a fearsome grenade launcher, but gameplay-wise her offensive prowess is negligible. Her sixth Eidolon Resonance, Doctor's Grace, partially ameliorates it, as it gives her Basic Attack an extra hit (with damage worth 40% of her Max HP), letting her deal decent damage for a healer.
  • Damage Reduction: Indirectly, as her Technique inflicts all enemies with Weaken for one turn, reducing their damage output by 30%, as well as damages a random enemy.note
  • Defense Mechanism Superpower: Her first Eidolon Resonance, Pharmacology Expertise, allows her to immediately heal herself once per battle if her HP falls under 30%.note
  • Disowned Sibling: Natasha had a brother named Vache who was a doctor like her. But she's horrified when she learned how he used her clinic to turn the poor and sick of the Underworld into Unwitting Test Subjects for his experiments into making mankind immune to the cold. Natasha then disowned him and had him banished to the frozen wastes outside Belobog. Oleg remarks that Vache likely would have been executed on the spot were Natasha not so conflicted about this because of her familial love for him.
  • Exposed to the Elements: Subverted and Played for Drama. In "Blizzard Immunity", Natasha is insistent on venturing into the Snow Plains outside of Belobog in search of her brother and his work. But she remains dressed in the same labcoat she's usually in because of much of a hurry she was in and not leaving Belobog in years. As a result, she's quickly encumbered by the cold, as even her voice lines have her gasping for air as she struggles to deal with the freezing temperatures she's not used to.
  • Foreshadowing: The "We are Wildfire" Light Cone explains that members of Wildfire wear red armbands to signify membership, as seen with Seele, Oleg, and Luka. In the story, the first person you meet in the Underworld was Natasha, who also wears the red armband, though she is not identified as the true leader of Wildfire until after the Astral Express's battle with Svarog.
  • Friend to All Children: She used to run an orphanage in Rivet Town before it was taken over by the Fragmentum. Seele and Bronya are among the many children who have become well-adjusted adults in her care. In the present, she continues to play a motherly role to the many children in Boulder Town, including Hook, and her full Warp art depicts children wanting to play with her.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Natasha is a very kind and motherly doctor, but she can also be stern and strict towards naughty children and unruly patients who don't follow her orders, as Seele can attest to in her voiceline about her. She's also not above making thinly veiled threats against neglectful parents who don't visit their children, as one of her notebooks shows. As leader of Wildfire, Natasha would've killed Svarog without hesitation had Clara not intervened. Afterward, Natasha admits that she was laying plans to rid Svarog for the sake of freeing the Underworlders, and is glad that the Nameless were able to wring a more peaceful solution.
  • Happily Adopted: She grew up in an orphanage in the Underworld until she was taken in by the Harrower family, an Overworld family of doctors. Her adoptive mother treated her as her own flesh and blood and her adoptive brother, Vache, was gentle with her most of the time. This love for her family blinded her to the nature of Vache's experiments until it was too late.
  • Healer Signs On Early: Assuming you didn't roll any other Abundance Pathstriders really early on, Natasha is a dedicated healer who can be made available solely through story progression.
  • Hospital Hottie: She's a very beautiful doctor, and there are more than a few dialogue options that acknowledge this. It's implied that some people have tried faking illness just to have an excuse to see her. Her Ultimate even begins with a Male Gaze to her chest.
  • Invocation:
(Ultimate activation) "Hmph, just in time."
(Normal speed and ×2 speed) " Just a little something. Think nothing of it."
  • The Leader: She is the true leader of Wildfire, with Oleg acting as her face.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Natasha wears a Form-Fitting Wardrobe that puts a lot of focus on her legs and her ample breasts, with her Ultimate even beginning with a focus on the latter.
  • My Greatest Failure: Natasha is haunted by her failure to notice that her brother Vache had been turning the sick of the Underworld into Unwitting Test Subjects for his research into making humanity immune to the cold of the Eternal Freeze. Given that he was using her clinic to distribute the medicine, Natasha blames herself for letting her familial love blind her to what he was doing until people had already gotten sick and died from his experiments.
  • Older Than They Look: Natasha is old enough to have served in the military together with Pela's late mother Penya. While we are not given exact dates, the resumé she submitted as part of her application as volunteer tour guide in the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities" event spans at least fifteen years of experience, if not more, since she graduated from medical school, not counting the decade she spent in the Underworld. She also used to run an orphanage and looked after Seele, who is now a young adult. By all estimates Natasha has to be in her mid- to late 40s at the youngest but you would never think that looking at her.
  • Only One Name: Natasha was an orphan, so she never knew the surname of her biological parents, and while she was adopted by the Harrower family of doctors, they never had her take on their family name, as they wanted her to be more than just another footnote in the family's history.
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner:
(Battle Begins: Weakness Break) "That'll take more than medicine."
  • Regenerating Health:
    • In addition to an instant heal, her Skill gradually regenerates her ally's HP for two turns.note  Her sixth-ascension Trace, Recuperation, extends the regeneration to three turns.
    • Natasha's second Eidolon Resonance, Clinical Research, bestows upon her Ultimate the ability to confer an extra healing burst for allies whose HP is no more than 30% upon its activation.note
  • Regenerating Mana: Natasha's fourth Eidolon Resonance, Miracle Cure, regenerates 5 Energy whenever she is attacked.
  • Shed the Family Name: Inverted. She didn't take up the family name "Harrower," despite wanting to because she was Happily Adopted, on the urging of her parents because they wanted her to be able to shine by her own merits as an accomplished doctor instead of being overshadowed by the lineage of a family of doctors.
  • Ship Tease: The dialogue options for both Trailblazers when talking to her are quite flirtatious.
  • Starter Mon: Aside from the Gacha, she can be unlocked just through playing the story. Unless you've been rolling Warps extensively, she will likely be the first healer you have access to.
  • Stealth Pun: She's a doctor, and she is Physical-type. She's a physician.
  • Trauma Button: She doesn't take kindly to anyone trying to dig up and redistribute Vache's "wonder medicine" under false pretenses that it's a better cure for illnesses than any of her treatments, especially if it is for make money, considering she knows the full extent of Vache's immoral experiments and the severe damage his drug can do to the human body. Disposing of the drug has become Natasha's top priority to ensure the safety of her patients.
  • Upbringing Makes the Hero: In Honkai Impact 3rd, Natasha was raised by World Serpent, a millenia-old cult, turning her into an Anti-Villain bounty hunter. In Honkai: Star Rail, Natasha was instead taken in by a family of doctors who showered her with love and affection. This is why she became a doctor instead of a brutal killer. Though, like in HI3rd, she can be ruthless when the chips are down, as she was preparing to kill Svarog for the sake of reopening the path to the Overworld.
  • Weapon Specialization: Natasha's associated Light Cone is "Post-Op Conversation" (4★), whose "Mutual Healing" passive increases its wearer's Energy Regeneration Rate by 8–16%, as well as Outgoing Healing by 12–24% when using their Ultimate. This Light Cone empowers her Ultimate to make it heal more HP, and make her charge Energy quicker so she can use the move more frequently.
  • White Mage: Her kit is all about healing. In particular, her Skill and Ultimate does so on, respectively, one ally and the entire partynote  In addition, her Talent boosts her healing by 25–62.5% for allies with no more than 30% of their HP. Furthermore, her fourth-ascension Bonus Ability, Healer, boosts her Outgoing Healing by 10%.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: She immediately backs off from finishing off Svarog when Clara puts herself between them.

    Findie

The Home-Use Object Finder: Richard / Findie

Voiced by: Tia Ballard (English)
A robot from the Interastral Peace Corporation that was stranded in the Belobog Underworld for 700 years following the emergence of the Eternal Freeze. After being discovered by the Astral Express crew, it assists them by finding hidden objects for them, hence its name.
  • Establishing Character Moment: When the Astral Express crew encounters Findie, they learn that it isn't just a generically helpful robot by being a Deadpan Snarker who quickly drops a Your Mom retort the moment Dan Heng calls Findie an antiquity.
"Beep, beep, beep... Your mom's an antiquity!"
  • Ragnarök Proofing: Findie was stranded in the Underworld since the onset of the Eternal Freeze, and despite centuries of isolation and the harsh environment of Jarilo-VI, it's still working just fine even though it notes it's long overdue for maintenance with a damaged brainwave scanner module. This is made even more impressive by the fact that the Astral Express crew considers this Findie to be an outdated model compared to the more advanced models that came since, and it can still connect to the IPC's internet despite the Stellaron having cut off communication with Jarilo-VI from the rest of the galaxy by that point.
  • Robot Buddy: In general, the Home-Use Object Finder series was created by the IPC to serve this role to patrons who buy them in order to search for misplaced or lost items. For this specific Findie though, it serves this role for the Astral Express crew in Belobog after being found, and it helps out by searching for hidden items throughout the Jarilo-VI story and some sidequests. It does this by splitting its body into seven segments, each pointing a light at the hidden object's location with the color of the lights determining the object's distance.
  • Verbal Tic: Findie always begins its speech with its characteristic "Beep, beep, beep..." sounds.

    Belobogian Automatons

Robots made of Jarilo-VI's Old World technology. Many of them are still active in the Underworld, under the watch of another advanced Old World robot, Svarog.

They consist of: Automaton Spiders, Automaton Beetles, Automaton Hounds, Automaton Direwolf (elite) and Automaton Grizzly (elite).

  • Action Bomb: Spiders can set themselves up for exploding, and on their next turn, they'll run towards your characters and go boom as a Blast-type attack. If you defeat them, they'll release a big blast that can hit and damage other enemies around them.
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: The programs that run the Automatons' AI can be rather unreliable. Though many Automatons are loyal to their creators, just as many malfunction and go rogue.
  • Chainsaw Good: The Direwolves have one for their right arm. Fittingly, their attacks can inflict stacks of Bleed debuff onto your characters. The Grizzlies can also turn their hand into a buzzsaw, but they're weaker than the Direwolves' own.
  • Cool Bike: The Hounds look like one. Their Flavor Text says that they look like a transportation machine whose purpose have been long forgotten.
  • Draw Aggro: The Grizzlies have a move where they attempt to taunt your characters, forcing the latter to focus their attacks on them. This can be potentially dangerous if they've summoned Spiders beforehand.
  • Dual Boss: In Simulated Universe, as part of the "tutorial missions", you have to fight both a Grizzly and a Direwolf at the same time. The gimmick here is that they have a move where they prepare their strongest attacks at the same turn (although the Direwolf is relatively faster so it will perform its attack first before the Grizzly does), and when one of them goes down from their HP depleted, you need to kill the other one quickly, lest the downed one will be revived with a portion of their HP.
    • This pair returns with a vengeance as one of the possible Third Plane bosses in the "Gold and Gears" Simulated Universe mode, with the same gimmick.
  • Fat Bastard: inasmuch as a robot can be one, but the Grizzlies have very bulky and round frame.
  • Flunky Boss: The Grizzlies can summon Spiders to their aid, which will immediately set themselves up for exploding. The Spiders' explosion when you defeat them, predictably, will hurt the Grizzlies themselves. Their "bug" version in Simulated Universe can also summon Hounds.
  • Mecha-Mook: Naturally.
  • Mook Medic: The Hounds are able to heal other enemies.
  • Shockwave Stomp: The Grizzlies' strongest attack has them charge up for a turn, and when their next turn comes up, they'll jump up and land onto your characters for painful AOE damage.
  • Single-Use Shield: Beetles can create barriers for themselves after they attack, which will nullify an attack once (except for Damage Over Time effects) before dissipating. Any attack that can dispel buffs can also bypass the barrier and directly deal damage to them.
  • Spider Tank: Spiders and Beetles have multiple legs for locomotion.

    Sampo

Sampo Koski

Rarity: 4★
Path: The Nihility
Type: Wind

A shifty, self-proclaimed merchant who runs a wide variety of rackets between the Overworld and the Underworld. Not much is known about Sampo, much less where his allegiances lie, but if there's one thing trustworthy about him, it's that he will never leave debts unpaid.

Sampo slowly whittles away at his enemies with his pair of daggers and his Talent, Windtorn Dagger, which gives all his attacks a chance to inflict Wind Shear for three turns, either through his Basic Attack, Dazzling Blades; his Skill, Ricochet Love, where he sends his swords flying to his target and can hit random foes four more times; and his Ultimate, Surprise Present, where he blindsides all his foes with a smoke bomb while he hacks away at them, and increases the potency of their existing damage-over-time effects for two turns. In addition, his Technique, Shining Bright, tosses a flash bomb that renders enemies unable to detect him, as well as delays their turns at the start of battle.note
  • Amplifier Artifact: By acquiring his Eidolons, you can upgrade his third and fifth Eidolon Resonances, Big Money! and Huuuuge Money!, which will add two levels to his Skill and one to Basic Attack with the former, and two levels to his Ultimate and Talent with the latter.
  • Assassin Outclassin': The Flavor Text for his associated Light Cone, "Eyes of the Prey," describes him nonchalantly looking at a sniper aiming at him in the scope and attempting to stop them by bribing them. Seeing that he's still alive...
  • Bifurcated Weapon: Sampo's daggers can be combined into a Double Weapon, which he does for his Skill.
  • Blinded by the Light: his Technique has Sampo launch a flash bomb that blinds enemies for ten seconds, rendering them unable to detect the party, as well as pushes back their first turn by 25% at the start of battle.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: In what appears to be a typical case of Dream Spying, the Trailblazer has a vision of Sampo reporting to an unknown entity about the events in Jarilo-VI. However, when the conversation ends, as Sampo starts to walk off he suddenly turns to look directly at the camera and addresses the audience, jokingly asking if his performance brought them happiness.
  • Butt-Monkey: He's introduced trying and failing to hide in a snow drift before getting shanked by Dan Heng's spear, and characters frequently insult and threaten him, with March 7th getting confused if the Trailblazer opts to be nice to him. He doesn't fare much better in promotional materials either, with Topaz leaving him ass-up in the snow for trying to weasel out of debt in her trailer, and Sparkle tricking him into praising her at length. Although, there are implications that some of this is just Sampo Obfuscating Stupidity as a Masked Fool.
  • Con Man: All his Character Stories are accounts of him tricking the citizens of Belobog so that he can set up for larger heists or evade capture. He's become infamous to the point where there is a dedicated association for his victims and caught the attention of the Ministry of Security.
  • Damage-Increasing Debuff: In addition to dealing damage, note  his Ultimate imposes for two turns a 20–35% boost to his enemies' damage intake from existing damage-over-time effects.
  • Damage Over Time: his Talent gives all his attacks a 65% base chance to inflict Wind Shear for three turns, which damages enemies at the start of their turn and can stack up to five times.note  In addition, his second-ascension Bonus Ability, Trap, extends its duration to four turns; his second Eidolon Resonance, Infectious Enthusiasm, imposes one stack of the debuff on all remaining foes whenever he defeats one such afflicted enemy; his fourth, The Deeper the Love, the Stronger the Hate, lets his Skill deal additional damage on an enemy per hit once it has five stacks of Wind Shear gathered (worth 8% of the current Wind Shear damage); and his sixth, Increased Spending, boosts the damage multiplier of Wind Shear he inflicts by 15%.
  • Damage Reduction: Indirectly through Sampo's sixth-ascension Bonus Ability, Spice Up, which reduces Wind Shear-affected enemies' damage against him by 15%.
  • Disguised in Drag: His character stories depict him scamming others, all while pretending to be a woman named Brughel Poisson, and he is so convincing that even the Silvermane Guard assigned to look for him was fooled.
  • Double Agent: He never actually sells Wildfire out as such, but The Stinger at the end of the Jarilo-VI Trailblaze Mission makes it clear he always answered to another, off-planet authority (later implied to be the Masked Fools).
  • Everyone Has Standards: v2.0 reveals that despite being a Masked Fool, even he is reluctant to work together with Sparkle and only goes through with it so that he can recover his Mask. Sparkle acknowledges this in her voiceline about him, noting how there are lines that he won't cross even as a fellow Masked Fool.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: He acts like everyone's loveable friend, but pretty much everyone treats him with annoyance or prefers to have nothing to do with him.
  • Friend to All Children: In an easily-missed optional line, Hook says that Sampo is the only adult who is willing to play hide-and-seek with her and the other kids.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation:
    • Even if you choose not to cover for Sampo once he's outed as "Mr. Cold-Feet," the prime suspect in a string of thefts from the Belobog History and Culture Museum during the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities" event and reported him to Pela, he can still be invited as museum assistant without issue, and Pela won't make any response to him working in the very museum he's stealing from. If you talk to him, he explains it as having fun with Refuge in Audacity, working right beneath her nose without her noticing.
    • While mechanically he follows the Path of Nihility, he's actually a Pathstrider of Elation.
  • Identity Impersonator: His modus operandi while scamming his victims. According to his first Character Story, he was a reporter for a local newspaper, while in the second he infiltrated the Silvermane Guards to pose as a senior human resources specialist.
  • Invocation:
(Ultimate activation) "What are you waiting for?"
(Normal speed) "The Customer is King! And for me to betray the King, well... You've gotta make it worth my while~"
(×2 speed) "To betray my customers... I charge extra!"
  • Kick the Dog: For as much as the main story likes to portray Sampo as a Lovable Rogue who helps out the Astral Express crew regardless of his shady background, the "Everwinter City Museum Ledger of Curiosities" event will remind the player that, at the end of the day, he's still a wanted criminal, is responsible for a string of thefts from the Belobog History and Culture Museum under the moniker "Mr. Cold Feet," and is not above siccing his accomplices on the Trailblazer, meaning he can slide into the role of minor villain whenever he feels like it.
  • Loveable Rogue: He acts as a smuggler and blockade runner, sneaking supplies into the Underworld to trade despite the prohibitions of travel between the Overworld and Underworld. While shifty and willing to seemingly abandon the crew at some points, he does pull through when he sees an opportunity to.
  • Master of Disguise: Implied in his Character Stories. It’s mentioned that Sampo is hard for the Silvermane Guards to pin down due to his habit of altering his appearance, and after he runs a number of scams under the identity of "Madam Brughel Poisson," the Ministry of Security has all wigs in Belobog seized in hopes of apprehending him. One guard even questions Sampo as Poisson about Sampo himself but never at any point suspects the person in front of him may be wearing a disguise.
  • Not Me This Time: Tried to pull this off during the investigation on a series of thefts from the Belobog History and Culture Museum. Unsuccessfully.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: The stinger at the end of the Jarilo-VI Trailblaze Mission strongly suggests that a lot of his seeming bumbling was an act, and that everything he was involved in, up to and including being found in that snow drift, was carefully calculated to get him in position to nudge the Trailblazer along a specific path.
  • Offscreen Teleportation: In the fourth "Opportunity Makes the Thief" story quest in the "Ledger of Curiosities" event, if the Trailblazer rejects Sampo's hefty bribe in exchange for letting him off the hook, as soon as they turn their back to contact Pela, Sampo vanishes out of his hotel room without a trace, making no sound from the door or window in the process. This hints that Sampo has a teleportation ability to just bail out of situations whenever they don't go in his favor.
  • Pinball Projectile: His Skill has Sampo throw out his combined daggers to, well, pinball around and hit his target, in addition to four random strikes.note  As a Bounce-type attack, this attack is more effective the less enemies there are, and even more against a lone target, which, if they're weak to Wind, will deplete their Toughness Gauge quicker. His first Eidolon Resonance, Rising Love, adds a fifth random strike.
  • Regenerating Mana: Sampo's fourth-ascension Bonus Ability, Defensive Position, regenerates 10 Energy whenever he uses his Ultimate.
  • Sliding Scale of Gameplay and Story Integration: He mentions a special technique called "invisible snow-walking" that allows him to not leave footprints in the snow. When running through snow in-game, he is the only character to not have footprints.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Inverted (he unwittingly sets the chain of events that leads to the plot's resolution). Sampo claims that he accidentally also brought Bronya along when he was meant to bring the Astral Express crew to the Underworld to escape from her (after he smoke-bombed them). This ultimately allowed them, especially Bronya, to learn of Cocolia's Stellaron-fueled corruption and ultimately led to the Supreme Guardian's downfall. However, given that he is a Masked Fool, he might not actually be "unwitting".
  • Vagueness Is Coming: When he recovers his Mask, Sparkle remarks that the only reason he would want it back is because there is a looming catastrophe ready to hit Belobog. Sampo on his part does not confirm or deny her suspicion.
  • Weapon Specialization: Sampo's associated Light Cone is "Eyes of the Prey" (4★), whose "Self-Confidence" passive increases its wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 20–40% and the potency of any damage-over-time effect they inflict by 24–48%, which augments his innate ability to increase damage-over-time effects inflicted upon his enemies, in particular Wind Shear.
  • Wild Card: A dream the Trailblazer has while sleeping at the Goethe Hotel after Cocolia's defeat shows Sampo reporting in with an unseen and non-speaking benefactor about the Astral Express crew. Afterwards, he directly addresses the audience about if they find his antics entertaining, before departing to parts unknown now that his services are no longer needed with the blockade lifted and his apparent objectives fulfilled, making it clear there's a bit more to Sampo than a mere smuggler; especially as his benefactor mentions a "Epsilon" that Sampo views as a giant vanity fair, a description that doesn't exactly mesh with any location on Jarilo-VI as it is. It's also notable that he explicitly mentions the Astral Express, despite never being told that in-story. A memory bubble after finishing the main story of "Aetherium Wars" reveals that he's actually a Masked Fool, meaning he's a follower of Aha and he later shows up in Penacony, meaning that he has the means to travel offworld.
