Tia Ballard and her works provide examples of:
- Cat Girl: Perhaps most noticeable when she voiced Eris in Cat Planet Cuties and Inaho in Maken-ki!. Of course, there's also Happy from Fairy Tail (while not a girl, he definitely fits in the trope as a Cat Boy).
- Pigeonholed Voice Actor: Most of the characters she voiced happen to be Token Mini-Moe characters.
- Playing Against Type:
- Hitoe is a much darker take on the kind of cute girls she normally plays, noting in the commentary for the first episode that some of her Break the Cutie scenes were quite heavy with the character's isolation and anxiety.
- Zero Two is a brooding tease who uses Tia's lower registers. A far cry from the cutesy girls she normally plays. The same can be said with Beast.
- While Nureha and Megumi are some of her early villain roles, at least they're subtle when compared to Abigail, an Ax-Crazy potty-mouthed Dark Magical Girl.
- Despite having the usual cutesy voice like most of her other roles, Ryouna is far less wholesome in comparison.
- Promoted Fanboy: Ballard watched the 4Kids dub of One Piece while growing up. She was later given the opportunity to voice Porche in the Funimation dub, and was eventually given a more major role in the series as Carrot.
- Token Mini-Moe: This is mostly her specialty.
