Season 1

Origins Part 1: Tales of Chloé the Ladybug
  • Chloé opens the strange box she stole from Marinette and sees Tikki appear and greet Marinette. Chloé experiences Color Failure while Tikki has a huge Jaw Drop.
    Chloé: WHO ARE YOU?!
    Tikki: THAT'S MY LINE!!!
  • A bonus panel shows Adrien having already transformed into Chat Noir, starry-eyed, sparkling with excitement, and declaring, "This is gonna be awesome!!!" Little does he know what's in store for him...
  • Marinette's initial reaction to the report of Stoneheart's appearance? An apathetic "Sucks" as she munches on popcorn. She only reacts when she notices Alya pedaling after it. The creator comment of "Thought you could slack off, did you?!" under the strip feels like it applies to both Chloé and her.
  • How Scarlet Lady and Chat Noir meet: the former is flung headlong into the latter.
  • Scarlet's attempt to make "Clumsinette" look bad by refusing to help completely backfires when the latter instead immediately snaps into Heroine Mode and takes charge of the situation.
  • In the seventh panel of part 6, the akuma hovers behind Scarlet Lady, asking if she's going to try to capture it. When she doesn't, the akuma says goodbye and flutters away in the next panel.
    Akuma: K, C U tomorrow.
  • Wayzz and Master Fu's reactions to the news of Scarlet Lady's debut (which also features Marinette as her civilian self, thus revealing she isn't the Ladybug heroine):
    Wayzz: [squinty-eyed] Wait...
Master Fu: [dropping his tea in shock]

Origins Part 2: Tales of Chat Noir the Exhausted
  • Marinette's unimpressed expression when Alya gushes about Scarlet Lady, only to snap into a flowery smile when Alya glances back.
  • Adrien discovers just how much he's been holding back:
Natalie: Adrien! Don't do this! Your father will be furious!
Adrien: [thinking] I let myself be bossed around yesterday, but no more! Tell them what you really think!
Adrien: [out loud] TELL HIM F@$% YOU!!!
    Natalie: ?!
Adrien: [thinking] Maybe I've been holding in more than I thought.
    Adrien: Please?
  • Chloé's blank expression when Adrien praises Chat Noir. It's followed by her trying to compliment the cat and spitting blood from the effort.
  • Sabrina's inner thoughts as Chloé starts gushing to her about Scarlet Lady reveal that she's more relieved that this means her friend's distracted from her original plans:
Sabrina: [thinking] I don't know why Chloé's so into Scarlet Lady... [sweating as she glances away guiltily] But at least now I don't have to touch chewed gum! You're welcome, Marinette.
  • Alya has stars in her eyes when she sees Stoneheart standing right in front of her... which is quickly replaced by a Color Failure when the akuma grabs Marinette.
  • When Stoneheart pitches Marinette, Mayor André and Chat Noir are both horrified... while Scarlet Lady dispassionately examines her nails. The mayor and Chat Noir soon notice the Ladybug heroine's lack of concern and just stare at her in shock.
  • Marinette's reaction to Chat Noir catching her and calling her "Princess": one panel of sparkly-eyed admiration followed by squinting and a flat "Princess?"
  • Alya's teary-eyed commentary in the bonus:
Alya: [typing] Scarlet Lady is rushing to the Eiffel Tower to deal with the akuma, a complete professional decision that I 100% stand behind and I'm definitely not bitter about.
  • Hawkmoth's communication through the butterflies is depicted as a latch-mouthed, ovaloid Pac-Man. The page is tagged, "#Waka Waka Waka Hawkmoth."
  • As Chat Noir goes starry-eyed over Marinette's rebuke, you can see that she's flipping Hawkmoth off. He was gone the moment she told the villain to go fuck himself.
  • Nathaniel and Ivan scoot away from Marinette as she gleefully waits for Chloé to show up. Marinette even has a pair of devil horns with a Cheshire Cat Grin!
  • The fact that Chloé is the most upset by Marinette insulting her ponytail in her "The Reason You Suck" Speech. Sabrina even lampshades this.
  • Marinette and Adrien bond over their mutual hatred of Scarlet Lady.
Marinette: Sooo... how do you feel about the heroes?
Adrien: Chat Noir was so cool! He took on that akuma-thingy all of his own, you know.
Marinette: So then... what about Scarlet Lady?
Adrien: Oh, she's the worst. Tool all the credit did none of the work? Ugh.
Marinette: [whispering] ... I love you.
  • The sheer amount of side-eye Wayzz is giving Fu as he denies screwing up:
Master Fu: ... this one is not my fault, Wayzz.
Wayzz: Master, would it not have been wiser to put it in her room or—
    Master Fu: NOT MY FAULT!!

Stormy Weather: Tales of Aurore the Weather Girl
  • Tikki rejects Chloé's offer of tiny chocolates, insisting that she only eats cookies. The Kwami follows this with a moment of consideration before adding, "Dupain-Cheng cookies only," while upending the chocolate plate like a cat.
  • Adrien fantasizes about doing the photo-shoot with Marinette... only for Vincent to pick Alya. Adrien's face is hilarious, as is Alya's reaction:
  • Alya tries to cheer Adrien up by pointing to the approaching Marinette, telling him, "The perfect girl for the job is right over there"... right before Chloé arrives and shoves Marinette aside.
Adrien: Why can things never just be nice.
  • Aurore furiously ranting to Hawkmoth while the caption berates her to not bond with the supervillain:
Hawkmoth: You definitely should have won.
Aurore: I obviously should have won!!! Mireille can't even look at the camera for more than 5 seconds!!
Hawkmoth: Ah, yes, I agree. Which is why—
Aurore: And she never dresses professionally! Is she gonna give the report in her pajamas?!
Hawkmoth: Ugh. Nothing worse than a sloppy-looking crew.
    Aurore: Thank you!!!
  • Vincent is unimpressed by Chloé's attempt to horn in on HIS photo shoot:
Chloé: Do you know who you're talking to?!
Vincent: [glances down] An idiot who wears white pants to the park?
  • After Vincent declares that he's already chosen Alya as a model while the two of them smirk at an infuriated Chloé... only to both develop Blank White Eyes in the fraction of a second they have to react to being frozen solid by Stormy Weather.
  • When Marinette asks Aurore why she's at the park, Aurore responds by saying she's now Stormy Weather... followed by a beat as she wonders why she came to the park:
Stormy Weather: Wait, why did I come here? It's just balloons.
  • Stormy Weather asks Marinette whom she voted for; Marinette answers Aurore. Then Manon jumps in to say she voted for Mireille. Marinette glares at the little girl while Stormy Weather aims her weapon at Manon. The author notes that considering who Manon's mother is, lack of self-preservation probably runs in the family.
Caption: Should've kept that one to yourself Manon.
  • Marinette completely misses Adrien transforming into Chat Noir right behind her.
  • When Tikki tells Chloé she needs to transform, Chloé for once immediately agrees with her. Tikki thinks she's finally managed to get Chloé to think selflessly... only to get her hopes crushed when Chloé makes it clear she's only acting because Stormy Weather ruined her "date" with Adrien.
  • Chat Noir's response to Scarlet Lady declaring that Stormy Weather ruined her date:
Chat Noir: Someone wants to date you?
Scarlet Lady: [blushing] Well, hurry up and take her out!
Chat Noir: [barely stifling a laugh] Omigod, you're so useless.
  • Doubles as Awesome, but Stormy Weather quickly curb-stomps both heroes and even caps it all off with a Flawless Victory pose. Scarlet even cries, "My hair!" as she's being tossed into the fountain and is later seen completely unconscious.
  • Marinette is forced to just sit on the park bench and wait for Stormy Weather to get deakumatized, all while Master Fu secretly watches her from behind a nearby tree. Marinette then suddenly yells in frustration, startling Fu as well.
  • Chat Noir finds the sight of Alec Cataldi frozen in a block of ice to be strangely satisfying despite not even knowing the host had rigged the weather girl contest.
  • The Lucky Charm is a towel. Scarlet Lady proclaims that it's perfect, and Chat Noir is surprised she actually has a plan for once... only to then see her use it to dry off her hair.
  • Chat Noir just can't resist making puns. When he's just forced Stormy Weather to land:
Chat Noir: You're grounded, Stormy Weather.
Stormy Weather: Omigod, no. Just end me please.
Tags: #stormy there's going to be puns you've got to accept that fact
  • After Stormy Weather is defeated, Alya still shivers a bit from being frozen solid.
  • When the photo-shoot restarts, Chloé attempts to shoehorn herself in as Adrien's partner, only for The Gorilla to grab her, put her to the side, push Marinette forward in her place, and give Marinette and Adrien a thumbs up while the bodyguard's charge sports a shit-eating grin. The Gorilla even does all this without changing his expression.
  • Aurore begins to apologize to Mireille for not handling her loss gracefully... only for Mireille to beg her to be the weather girl instead. It turns out Mireille tweeted out that the results were rigged, and Alec now has to deal with a flood of calls from Aurore's angry fans. Aurore even gives a Flat "What" when she learns this.

Bubbler: Tales of Nino the Party Planner

Lady Wifi: Tales of Alya the Journalist
  • When Mme. Bustier asks Sabrina where Adrien and Chloé are, we see a cutaway of the two fighting a monster. Well, Chat Noir is and wrapped up in its tentacle; Scarlet Lady, meanwhile, is preoccupied with putting on lipstick as she sits out the fight.
Sabrina: Uhhh... [cutting to the pair, then back to her] ... Bathroom?
    • Chat Noir can be seen Symbol Swearing, but it's hard to tell whether it's at the akuma or his partner for ignoring him just to apply lipstick.
    • The best part? Mme. Bustier doesn't swallow the lie because she knows Chloé would never willingly enter a public bathroom.
    • When Sabrina later asks about where Chloé is, Alya suggests she has IBS.
  • When Alya spots Marinette with a spotted yo-yo, she instantly suspects her to be Scarlet Lady, getting starry eyes and crying, "Le gasp!"
    • Alya then drags a comically confused Sabrina out of the room and has hearts in her eyes as she exclaims how Marinette must be Scarlet Lady.
    • After hearing Alya's theory, Sabrina's blank expression just screams, "Nope, don't want any of this," and she passes the buck onto Nino.
Caption: Sabrina can only handle a very specific kind of crazy, Alya, and you don't qualify.
  • Alya tells Nino her theory. Nino says she's nuts because there's no way Marinette could be Scarlet Lady. Unfortunately, Alya doesn't quite get it.
    Nino: You're nuts.
Alya: Are you saying Marinette can't be a hero?!
Nino: Noooo, but have you ever actually met Scarlet Lady? She's kind of a b***h. Should have seen the way she talked to Chat after I woke up.
Alya: Marinette would never! She's the nicest person we know!
Nino: I know, which is exactly why she couldn't possibly be Scarlet Lady.
Caption: Okay, but do you have evidence that Scarlet Lady is a shrew Nino?
Tags: #not everyone is as woke as Nino
  • Nino suggests just asking Marinette about the spotted product. Alya tries to via a phone call but only gets her voice mail.
Alya: Well I tried, only one thing to do...
Nino: Ask her in the morning?
Alya: [starry-eyed] Break into her locker! We exchanged combos anyway.
Nino: [resting his head on his hand] I'm going to be bailing you out of jail one day, aren't I?
Caption: Everybody's gonna end up in jail at the trajectory we're currently going at.
    Tags: #Alya I-did-a-minimal-amount-of-research-so-I'm-good-to-go Cesaire
  • Chloé's reaction when Sabrina tells her Alya's theory about Marinette being Scarlet Lady. Chloé's is visibly frightened while Tikki has a knowing expression and mischievous Cheshire Cat Grin at her holder's Freak Out.
  • After finishing her project and getting started on her homework, Marinette decides that she should probably stop talking to herself.
Caption: Gee Marinette, it's almost as if something is missing.
  • Sabrina asks Chloé if she really wants to spy on Alya just for daring to think Marinette is Scarlet Lady. Chloé confirms she does and states Sabrina doesn't understand how important it is to her. Which, yeah, Sabrina pouts she doesn't, mainly because she doesn't know Chloé is Scarlet Lady.
  • Chloé melodramatically exclaiming how Alya invading Marinette's privacy robbed Marinette of her "soul" and corrupted her "essence" baffles everyone and causes them to sweatdrop.
    • The caption details, "Chloe had to go to the bathroom after to cough up blood after defending Marinette Dupain-Cheng."
    • Later, Kim and Sabrina are both confused by why Chloé would get Alya suspended for looking inside Marinette's locker, with Sabrina admitting that while she can usually follow Chloé's (twisted) logic, even that doesn't explain why she'd demand such a hars punishment for someonw who didn't even do anything to her.
  • A bonus panel reveals Marinette slept in and is late for class. "I'm sure you didn't miss much," the caption replies.
  • When Hawkmoth goes to akumatize Alya, Alya tells him about Marinette being Scarlet Lady... and he doesn't know who Marinette is. Funny 'cause, well, alternate timeline and all.
  • Adrien's reaction when Nino tell him Alya's theory. Poor guy looks like he's about to faint.
  • When Lady Wifi makes a transmission from M. Damocles's office and Marinette instantly recognizes she's Alya, Nino asks how she can tell despite the fact Lady Wifi clearly looks and talks like Alya.
  • Plagg teases Adrien about liking Scarlet Lady if she really is Marinette, causing Adrien to sob at the thought of it being true. Plagg naturally knows that isn't the case but is having too much fun at Adrien's expense.
Caption: The shortsightedness is rampant in this show.
  • Meanwhile Tikki is angry at Chloé for what she did, only for Chloé to tell her to buzz off, feeling she's justified in stopping Alya from spreading a "ridiculous" rumor that Marinette could be Scarlet Lady. Apparently, Chloé is so self-centered and ditzy, she's forgotten that she got the Miraculous by stealing it from Marinette in the first place; she even tunes out Tikki when the Kwami attempts to remind her.
  • Adrien goes to Marinette's place as Chat Noir, knowing Lady Wifi will head there. He starts to Freak Out when he sees Marinette with the mask and the yo-yo, but then Scarlet Lady shows up shortly after:
Scarlet Lady: Are you serious?! You think she could be me?!
Chat Noir: [thinking] Oh thank God.
  • Both Scarlet Lady and Chat Noir's reactions when they see Lady Wifi teleport Marinette away. Yeeeah, kinda forgot they were there to protect Marinette from her.
  • All of Marinette's attempts to tell Lady Wifi that she isn't Scarlet Lady fall flat.
    Marinette: I'm not Scarlet Lady.
Lady Wifi: Obviously you'd say that.
Marinette: I don't even like Scarlet Lady.
Lady Wifi: Girl, we gotta work on your self esteem.
Caption: Alya, sometimes I feel like you're not hearing me.
  • Lady Wifi claims that Marinette is Scarlet Lady in front of the whole city, which Marinette doesn't even fight over and is more embarrassed about, meekly waving to the camera and stating she isn't really.
  • When Scarlet Lady and Chat Noir confront Lady Wifi at the hotel, the akuma does a few double-takes before deciding she'll rip Scarlet Lady's mask off her face after the Ladybug heroine insults her.
Caption: The ability to switch targets quickly is the mark of a true reporter (I guess).
  • When seeing her own phone among the ones Lady Wifi has amassed, Scarlet Lady almost says, "My phone," before switching to "Chloé Bourgeois's phone."
  • Marinette can be seen hugging a ladybug plushie (probably Chloé's) while grumbling that Alya dragged her all the way to the hotel and broadcasted her allegedly being Scarlet Lady to all of Paris, only to ditch her when the heroes showed up.
Marinette: Alya, you're lucky I'm not a super hero cuz I'd yo-yo you in the face.
  • Lady Wifi declares she'll take Scarlet Lady's earrings and give them to Marinette, proclaiming she'll be a much better hero. Chat Noir is actually on board with that idea, only to trip due to not seeing where he's running. Scarlet Lady starts to mock him... and likewise trips as well.
  • When Lady Wifi has Scarlet Lady pinned down and tries to take off the latter's mask, Chat Noir comes in to save her, causing the akuma to think the two are romantically involved. Scarlet Lady instantly kicks her in the face for that while viciously denying anything of the sort in a Wall of Text.
  • When Hawkmoth tries to get Lady Wifi to take Chloé's Miraculous, the heroine is still in rant mode, kicking wildly and even flipping the akuma off, which Lady Wifi censors with her lock symbols:
Lady Wifi: Yeah, no, I'm not going near that!
  • Lady Wifi tries to stop Chat Noir from destroying the wifi antenna... and he just smacks her off by throwing his baton at her head.
  • Marinette and Scarlet Lady end up running up the stairs to the roof at the same time... and quickly proceed to yell at each other.
  • After Alya is cleansed, Alya starts to fangirl at seeing Scarlet Lady and wants to get an interview. Naturally Chloé is more than happy to give her one, not realizing that the time limit for her powers is about to run out. Chat Noir promptly grabs her, goes back into the hotel, and dumps her into a nearby storage closet before she changes back, with her complaining all the way till he shuts the door.
    Chat Noir: Ah, silence.
  • While visiting Alya the next day, Marinette teases Alya about failing to use her memory about the Stoneheart incident to figure out Marinette couldn't be Scarlet Lady. Alya hangs her head in shame as she apologizes.
  • Adrien is later seen holding the picture from his photoshoot with Marinette, tearfully declaring he'll never doubt her again.
Caption: This left some nightmares he'll never forget.
  • Tikki hides Chloé's diamond scrunchie and destroys her curling iron as retribution for Chloé messing with Alya. The Kwami's Cheshire Cat Grin at her holder's misfortune just sells it.

Copycat: Tales of Théo the Admirer
  • Upon learning that Chloé getting ready a statue unveiling to celebrate Scarlet Lady and Chat Noir, an exasperated Tikki scolds Chloé's selfish reason for being a hero and points out that she'll being wearing a mask, meaning nobody will even see all the makeup she putting on.
Caption: C'mon Tikki, the blue with the red really sells that patriotic vibe (which is to say there isn't one.)
  • There's a Running Gag of people asking Théo how old he is.
  • The Dramatic Irony of Théo being Right for the Wrong Reasons: Scarlet Lady's crush is indeed Chat Noir, or rather, his civilian identity.
  • Adrien sees the statue of Scarlet Lady and Chat Noir, with the perspective making it look like the former is standing on the latter's back. He's not very impressed:
Adrien: Even as a statue, I'm pulling all the weight.
    Tags: #adrien: I don't know what I was expecting
  • When Copycat kidnaps Marinette and chains her, he forgets to take her phone.
Caption: I feel like you might've forgotten some things in your infinite wisom there, Copycat.
    • She proceeds to post a selfie with a comment riffing on Copycat's incompetence.
Marinette's post: Lawl, this scrub shackled my hands but didn't take my phone.
      #bad@villaining #thesculptordidit #chatisinnocent #bewareoftraps
    • Marinette later mentally snarks at Copycat's poor planning, wondering how he intended to get Chat Noir to come to the studio to begin with.
Copycat: [after noticing that Marinette had posted about him and his location on social media] Seriously? I can't ignore you for a second without you putting me on blast?
Marinette: [thinking] Well, what is your plan for getting Chat Noir here? Sitting around and doing nothing?
Caption: It's almost like you were banking on this guy just walking into your warehouse without knowing who the heck you are or where the heck you work :T
  • Chat Nori ends up fleeing on all fours while being pursued by the police. Scarlet Lady can't stop laughing at the sight.
  • The face Chat Noir makes after hearing Copycat declare the former is Scarlet Lady's "dream guy."
  • After Marinette steals Copycat's baton:
Marinette: Scarlet Lady, call your Lucky Charm!
Scarlet Lady: I am the hero here! You don't tell me what to do!
Marinette: Oh, so you want a knock off Chat Noir chasing after you forever?
Scarlet Lady: [with a pained face] Lucky Charm.
  • The Lucky Charm is a spoon, which Marinette ties to Chat Noir's baton like a hook for a fishing pole.
Scarlet Lady: You're kidding. You think you're taking him out with a spoon?
Marinette: Maybe not. But I can take him up.
    Scarlet Lady: Booooo!
  • Théo admits he was akumatized because he thought Chat Noir and Scarlet Lady were in love. Chat Noir turns to Death Glare at Scarlet Lady.
  • When Marinette defends Théo, he begins to sport a Crush Blush... until Chat Noir makes it clear she's off limits.
  • The Brick Joke about Théo's age. Turns out he also goes to Françoise Dupont.
    • Not only that, but it seems everyone at school knew save for Alya and Adrien, both of whom only recently enrolled.
    • Adrien makes a hilarious face when asking about Théo's goatee. Mlle. Mendeleiev then yelling at Théo to shave it while the sculptor protests that it's the only reason he gets taken seriously by clients just sells it.

Mr Pigeon: Tales of Xavier the Bird Man
  • Marinette and Alya pulling comically grotesque faces back at Chloé.
Caption: Meet me in the pit, Chloé!
  • Alya getting front row seats to Marinette's spiral over the fashion competition: first she's wondering how to design a bowler hat, then resigned that she'd likely not do well regardless, then panicking over the likelihood that she'll trip, fall on Gabriel Agreste, making him and Adrien hate her and ending her dreams of being a fashion designer... all without any input from Alya.
Caption: When it's the first time you've seen your best friend spiral and you can barely keep up with her insane thought process.
  • Adrien sees the designs Marinette's showing Alya and is impressed, telling her that she's got a good chance at winning the contest. Marinette has sparkles in her eyes as she literally climbs on top of Alya, folding the latter in half like a chair.
Adrien: Whoa, I should compliment you more often.
    Alya: Girl, OW.
  • Officer Raincomprix angrily scolds M. Ramier for feeding the birds again despite having been told it's illegal. The latter tries to get out of trouble by suggesting that he isn't forbidden from doing it, only for Roger to immediately yell, "Especially for you!"
Tags: #rules are more like loose suggestions amiright?
  • Marinette is so inspired by a pigeon she sees sitting next to her that she doesn't notice Officer Roger getting ambushed by an entire flock of them.
    Caption: Peripheral Vision, what's that?
    • The pigeon next to her does, though, and actually turns its head from the design in Marinette's sketchbook to the commotion, with its gaze on the flock as Roger is carried away.
    • The tags even reveal that said pigeon is Jacques, the same one whom Marinette introduces to Alya in "The Mime" and who is mentioned in "Reflekta" to have photobombed Rose and Juleka.
Tags: #jacques is like 'did I miss a Pigeon meeting?!'
  • When Marinette learns about M. Pigeon and his namesake birds taking over Paris, her only reaction is to grumble that she now has to walk home.
Caption: Just another day in Daily Akumas Paris, France.
  • Tikki attempts to make Chloé fight, but Chloé refuses due to being afraid the birds will ruin her hair. Seeing Chat Noir passing nearby, Tikki quickly comes up with a way to trick Chloé into doing it: appealing to her Attention Whore antics. It works like a charm, and the Kwami even sticks her tongue out in an Aside Glance.
Tikki: [snarking] Well, I guess we'll leave the akuma—and the after interview—to Chat Noir.
Chloé: [dead serious] The hell we are.
  • When Sabine sees her daughter coming down the stairs with two superheroes in tow, she asks, "... Whatcha got there?" Marinette replies, "A hat," referring to the costume police cap she brought down from her room.
  • Chat Noir attempts to show Marinette how to "act natural," which seemingly includes him doing the Gangnam Style dance.
  • In part 8, a bonus scene has Mr. Pigeon crowd surfing on a flock of pigeons:
Caption: These Pigeons need to Unionize if he's just gonna jump off buildings onto them.
  • Chloé gives a Noblewoman's Laugh over how she doesn't have any real competition in the contest, Sabrina sweatdrops at her friend's overconfidence while everyone else glares at Chloé with Cross-Popping Veins.
  • Chloé's Oh, Crap! expression when Marinette proves that her design had been copied by the former, especially as Alya calls Chloé an idiot while Principal Damocles sweatdrops with an unamused glare. Then, after failing to throw Sabrina under the bus, Chloé runs away crying over getting disqualified and banned from future contests.

The Pharaoh: Tales of Jalil the Conspiracy Theorist
  • One Running Gag throughout the episode is people getting shoved:
    • Alya is the first to do this, pushing an annoyed Alix aside while running to film Scarlet Lady.
    • Shortly afterwards, Jalil shoves Alya aside on his way to his father. Alix even scoffs, "Ha!" at her classmate getting A Taste of Their Own Medicine.
    • Jalil then triggers a chain of Disaster Dominoes by pushing Scarlet Lady, who falls into Alix, who tumbles into Marinette, who then falls into Adrien's arms, which Adrien doesn't at all mind... until Scarlet Lady also notices his presence.
  • With Scarlet Lady, Adrien, Marinette, and Alya all present to look at the Miraculous-related parts of the exhibit and tons of people there to watch Scarlet Lady, Alix's father Alim literally has to scream at everyone that the exhibit is about Tutankhamun. Alix can only Face Palm.
  • The vast majority of the humor is provided by Alix, especially when she's snarking at her brother's numerous inaccurate statements about Egyptology. A lot of the captions are provided on her behalf too.
    • The dialogue as Jalil talks about his theory and Alix pokes holes in it:
Jalil: Papa, look, this is Akhenaten and Nefertiti. She died before him-
      Alix: She literally didn't.
Jalil: -and Ra made her his goddess.
      Alix: He literally wouldn't.
Jalil: Akhenaten offered up a new wife to Ra so his would be brought back to life.
Alix: Dude, Egyptians would be super not into that.
Jalil: This scroll details that very ritual—and only I have deciphered the hieroglyphics!
      Alix: Lieeeeees!
      Jalil: WOULD YOU STOP THAT?!
Alix: PEDDLE YOUR BAD FANFIC SOMEWHERE ELSE!
    • The author notes that Alix needed to prevent Jalil from inadvertently causing her classmates to fail their test.
    • Alix is also quick to point out how badly Jalil misinterprets the Egyptian pantheon:
Alix: [hearing Jalil invoke Thoth for time powers] Only he would get the god of writing and magic so wrong.
Alix: [after Jalili invokes Sekhmet for strength] She fights to protect people, you poser!
Alix: [hearing her brother invoke Horus for wings] Just because he's a bird doesn't mean you can fly, you t**t! [prolonged muffled screaming]
  • There's this exchange that encapsulates the relationship between Jalil and (what he sees as) his Fantasy-Forbidding Father:
Mr. Kubdel: Jalil, you're not using museum artifacts to perform a sacrificial ritual! For several reasons!
Jalil: [flipping him off] Gawd, you just don't understand me dad!
  • Jalil's obsession with proving his conspiracy theories annoys Hawkmoth as well.
Jalil: My precious Nefertiti will come back to life! And I'll totally show my dad!
    Hawkmoth: Ugh, teenagers...
Tags: #weiiiiiird hawkmoth doesn't feel sympathy for the boi
  • Alix and Marinette both fail to notice Adrien ducking around the corner right behind them to transform.
Caption: A true master of Dissolving into the Shadows, to be sure.
  • Chat Noir introduces himself as a Worthy Opponent to the Pharaoh. To the hero's chagrin, the akuma doesn't even know who he is.
  • As Alya's being carried off by the Pharaoh, two bystanders, a young boy and his father, watch nearby. The boy turns to his father and has this conversation:
    Boy: Dad? Shouldn't we... go?
Father: [expressionless] No son. [takes a drag of his cigarette] This is our lives now.
Pharaoh: [offscreen] ANUBIS, WAKE MY MUMMIES!
    Boy: [flatly] Here we go.
Caption: Another Boring Day in the life of a Parisian.
  • Scarlet Lady tells Chat Noir to distract the Pharaoh while she saves Alya. He eagerly agrees with two thumbs up... right before shifting to a much more serious expression as he tells Marinette and Alix to wait for an actual opening. Marinette and Alix's facial expressions even change with Chat Noir's, going from perplexed that he's agreeing with Scarlet to amused when the superhero reveals his real plan.
  • Since Marinette is wearing a skirt, she has to be careful to avoid an accidental Panty Shot as Alix and Scarlet Lady quickly take the Lucky Charm costume off of her so the heroine can cast the Miraculous Cure.
Marinette: Okay, okay, keep your pants on! Or at least let me keep mine on!
Caption: Give a girl some privacy!
  • As Chat Noir catches her after the Pharaoh has been defeated, Alya pouts that she would so make a good sacrifice.
  • Adrien decides to give up on looking for the Chat Noir artifacts that Plagg mentioned, convinced the Kwami was just messing with him... right as he walks past a statue of a black cat. Said statue even sweatdrops as it stares at Adrien's passing figure.
  • Plagg gets to play with a cat toy like a normal cat, then acts like a piranha.
  • This is Alim's response to being asked if he knew his son was akumatized (while holding a drink in his hand with a bottle next to him):
Alim: Oh I definitely saw it all over the CT cameras.

Horrificator: Tales of Mylène the Actress
  • Adrien's response to Chloé mocking Mylène's lullaby:
Chloé: What are you, a baby?!
    Adrien: Chloé. Mr. Cuddly.
    Chloé: [freezes, sweating]
  • Chloé asks a stupid question:
Ivan: You suck! Mylène's crying in the bathroom because of you!
Chloé: What?! I suck?! Says who?!
    Marinette: Show of hands?
    Everyone else: [raises their hands]
Chloé: [huffs] Oh, who asked you?
  • Alya, Adrien, and Ivan are less than impressed by Chloé revealing that Nino changed the script to include a kiss. Alya's pissed that he altered her script while Ivan's going full Beware the Nice Ones.
    • In an aside, one of the others is shocked to realize that they're still on the opening scene.
    • In the bonus panel, it's revealed that the reason Horrificator is non-verbal is because Mylène sassed Hawkmoth.
  • When everyone points out why they shouldn't let Chloé take Mylène's role, Adrien adds that Chloé doesn't even remember the characters' names.
    Chloé: Stop helping, Adrikins!
  • Marinette shutting down Nino's attempt to boss the others around is the thing of Nightmares.
Nino: Ex-CUSE YOU guys, but I am the director, and what I say goes!
Marinette: [snagging his ear] And I am the producer, the person who picked the director. I am the person who got us the school to use because you left it to the last minute. And if you don't turn down the attitude and remember that we're your friends, doing this for you... I'll be the person who impaled you with a clipboard.
  • Chloé suggests changing the main character to a nurse, Alya begins to say that it is a dumb idea... only for Marinette to intervene, agree with the idea, and literally shove Chloé out of the room while suggesting that she get a uniform from the office, right now.
  • Adrien suggests adding Marinette as a new character who takes up the initial scene that would be awkward for Mylène while keeping the latter as the main character. Everyone praises him for his idea, and he preens about getting a kissing scene with Marinette. Then, during filming, Adrien and Marinette are about to kiss when Chloé kills the moment. While the others just lament her return, Adrien has a Thousand-Yard Stare about getting cock-blocked.
  • When one of Kim's armbands is found, Alya says it's covered with the same stuff from the bathroom. Alix then says TMI.
    Alya: Not like that, ew!
  • Chat Noir appears as Horrificator's goo covers the windows, trapping everyone inside... and Nino immediately thinks he can bring Chat into his movie. Chat Noir even points out Nino's Skewed Priorities when the latter continues focusing on filming the events.
  • Meanwhile, Chloé finally gets a motive to act: to prevent Chat Noir from getting all the attention. So she leaves behind her favorite nail polish and acts as if it were a great sacrifice. The reactions once it's discovered?
Sabrina: This is Chloé's favorite! Something horrible must have happened to her!
    Alix: If we're lucky.
  • Scarlet Lady shows up:
Marinette and Chat Noir: [sigh] Greeeeat...
  • The author's comment for the strip where Horrificator first appears:
Caption: The Monster Reveals Itself! Oh and Horrificator is here too.
  • When Scarlet Lady is refusing to help sing the lullaby to calm Mylène/Horrificator, Marinette screams at her from one of the goo pods to do it.
Marinette: JUST SING THE DAMN SONG! It's nasty in here!
  • After Nino proudly presents his (terrible) film to André Bourgeois, he's promptly told by the mayor to Get Out! He later gradually realizes why Mayor Bourgeois had such a (justifiably) negative reaction:
Nino: We didn't even make it past the first round! Well, maybe because it was unedited... and had no plot... or characters... or story.
    Adrien: [snickering] Pft.

Rogercop: Tales of Roger the Police Officer
  • The first page's bonus panel features Juleka saying her mother decided not to come because "there'd be a cop."
  • Since Gabriel broke his promise to attend Parent's Career Day, Adrien calls his father and implies that he'll ruin his diet by helping himself to the free croissants. Gabriel, already transformed into Hawkmoth, reacts thusly:
    • Meanwhile, Chloé is showing off her bracelet and tells Marinette (who is handing out the free croissants) not to get her "poor grease" near it. Marinette promptly skips her.
    • Adrien absolutely lights up when Marinette gives him a croissant.
  • The tags state that Tikki is purposely getting cookie crumbs all over the inside of Chloé's bag as revenge.
  • Sabrina responds to Chloé ordering Mayor André to fire her dad by making the "Surprised Pikachu face."
    • Roger then makes the exact same expression when the mayor actually does fire him.
    • The bonus panel also implies that Hawkmoth is well aware of how Chloé has the mayor wrapped around her finger and isn't even surprised by her being the reason for Roger's firing.
  • Chloé getting Sabrina's bag right in the face... while the latter is undergoing a Heroic BSoD no less.
Caption: Excuse me, Marinette, can't you see I'm busy SPIRALING?!
  • Rogercop insists on waiting for the traffic light to turn green since jaywalking is illegal.
Rogercop: Justice waits for a green light. Even if it takes forever.
  • When Tom tells Marinette to stand down and let the adults handle things, she gives him a disgusted look and an unimpressed "Seriously?" while gesturing to how none the adults (Tom included) are doing anything to help resolve the situation.
  • Marinette has a completely flat look on her face when she dumps her bag out in front of Chloé to prove the bracelet isn't in there. When Chloé then immediately demands she empty her pockets, too, Marinette declares, "I hate you."
  • Rogercop arrives at the school:
Adrien: Looks like I'm a total jinx and it's an akuma.
Plagg: [sniff] You're a true Black Cat.
Caption: Plagg getting misty when your Bad Luck Gene comes out.
  • Plagg when Adrien tries to get the bracelet off the former's head by making him sneeze:
Plagg: Why do you have pepper in your locker?
    Caption: Unsolved Mysteries.
  • Chat Noir's reaction to seeing Chloé throwing Marinette inside Rogercop's car before getting in herself:
  • Alya is completely unconcerned that Chloé dragged Marinette off to the akuma. The author explains in the tags, "#alya's convinced marinette's impervious to akumas at this point."
  • Tom tries to call Alya out for not doing anything to stop Chloé, only for Alya to retort, "Uh, neither did you?" It's made funnier by how Tom had early tried to chide Marinette to let the adults handle everything.
  • While Marinette and Chloé have a Cat Fight in the back of his car, Rogercop ignores them while listening to music.
Caption: That's so sad Hawkmoth, play Despacito.
  • It's Black Comedy, but Chat Noir and Marinette's Oh, Crap! faces when they see Chloé plummet to her seeming death are absolutely hilarious, especially when juxtaposed to Rogercop's indifference.
  • Chloé yells at Chat Noir as she falls toward the ground and later blames Rogercop when she survives but has her hair all messed up. However, as Marinette had pointed out just moments ago, Chloé didn't put on her seat belt after getting inside Rogercop's car.
  • When Rogercop orders the police to arrest Scarlet Lady and Chat Noir, the police... refuse as he's clearly been akumatized. Chat's relieved sigh sells it, and the author even goes into a mini rant about how stupid it was for them to obey Rogercop in canon.
    Police Officer 1: Um... no?
Police Officer 2: What a dumb idea.
Police Officer 3: That's totally an akuma, right?
Caption: We don't just take orders from Akuma just because they have COP in their name, c'mon.
Tags: #this is my rare rule break when it came to not going out of my way to make the characters smarter than canon if I can't excuse it #but this was seriously stupid for these grown adults to turn on the Heroes of Paris that protect them from an emotional terrorist #on the orders of that very terrorist's minion!
  • Once Chat and Scarlet confront him, Rogercop forces Marinette and André to capture them. Marinette manages to lock her legs around a chair, but André ends up getting dragged across the floor.
    • The best thing is that Rogercop catches Chat and Scarlet because Scarlet Lady makes too much noise shushing Marinette. Chat's Face Palm just sells it.
    • Chat Noir later remarks on Marinette's trick to prevent herself from moving:
Chat Noir: Are you okay, Marinette?
Marinette: [sweating with exhaustion] My legs hurt.
Chat Noir: That was an impressive maneuver. I should add it to my workout routine.
Marinette: Don't mock my pain, Chaton.
  • The narration after Rogercop is taken down:
Caption: Aw, Scarlet finally helped take out an akuma. (Don't get used to it)
  • Chloé's face when her father forces her to apologize to Marinette, not to mention Marinette and Chat's matching smug, toothy grins.

Season 2

Darkblade: Tales of Armand the Knight

The Gamer: Tales of Max the Pro Gamer
  • Alya tries to call Marinette out on allegedly only showing interest in the tournament to spend time with Adrien, insisting that representing the school is "Super. Serious!" Marinette snarks that Alya is getting pretty worked up over something she didn't even know about until five minutes ago.
  • Kim sees how calm and collected Max after the crushing defeat handed to him and praises his friend for being so cool. A Description Cut then shows Max internally screaming.
  • Another Running Gag: this time, people point out to Max that he lost to two people, not just Marinette.
  • Chloé is actually rather annoyed by Sabrina texting her that Adrien will be competing in the video game tournament, proclaiming she doesn't need to play a video game to spend time with Adrien. Then Sabrina informs Chloé that Marinette is going to be Adrien's partner. That instantly infuriates Chloé, who immediately demands that her father get her driver.
  • Tikki is her usual Deadpan Snarker self as she calls Chloé out. The flat expression she has at the end while her arms and legs are crossed just sell it.
    Tikki: Chloé, this is ridiculous.
    Chloé: Me, ridiculous?!
Tikki: You didn't even care about this until Marinette was involved!
Chloé: Of course I care! She's going to put her grubby paws all over poor Adrien!
    Tikki: She isn't you.
Chloé: C'mon, we're crashing this date!
Tikki: Oh, this outta be good.
  • Marinette's face when her parents interrupt her and Adrien with an offer for quiche.
  • Chloé's repeated failed attempts to get Adrien away from Marinette... at least, until she tries to help Gamer Murder the Hypotenuse.
  • How does Chloé meet Fu in this universe? By being told to get out of his "spying tree."
  • Adrien pushes Marinette out of the way and lands on top of her, with both of them blushing. Gamer is not amused that they aren't paying attention to him.
  • Chloé's Epic Fail at piloting the mecha.
  • After Scarlet Lady thanks him for only going after Marinette while ignoring Adrien, Max has Scary Shiny Glasses as he walks away.
Caption: Time to rethink your entire life because somewhere under all the insults, Scarlet Lady had a point.

Reflekta: Tales of Juleka the Goth
  • To Chloé's utter disgust, Vincent is handling the class photo. He remembers her, too, and notes she's still wearing white pants (he previously mocked her for it).
  • A bonus panel reveals just what the "pigeon one" was—and that the pigeon in question was fully aware of the camera. Word of God later confirmed that the pigeon was also Jacques, whom Marinette introduced Alya to in "The Mime."
  • When Chloé complains about the others paying attention to Juleka instead of her having a crisis, Adrien fires back by saying that her "crisis" is an oversized temper tantrum. Nino chuckles, and Sabrina looks like she's about to burst out laughing.
  • The class photo has Adrien shoving Chloé off of him while most of the class is looking at the commotion and Marinette is begging the photographer to wait.
  • When Marinette comes up with the idea to make the picture disappear in order to get another one with Juleka in it, Rose doesn't understand how she is going to be make it disappear (she's going to steal it).
Marinette: Oh you sweet summer child. I shant corrupt you.
  • When Chloé declares that she won't let her picture with Adrien be ruined, Sabrina snarkily reminds her that the picture shows Adrien pushing Chloé off of him.
Chloé: [staring at Sabrina] What is with her?! Completely ridiculous.
Tikki: Came to her senses, if I had to guess.
  • Tikki, unaware of Chloé's latest stunt (due to her leaving her purse behind while she locked Juleka in the bathroom), laments the idea that without her guidance, Marinette is becoming a criminal. Complete with an Imagine Spot of Marinette in full thieving gear.
  • Reflekta's Motive Rant is depicted as a Wall of Text behind her, with Alya and Nino exchanging stressed looks.
  • Upon learning about the akuma from Rose and Sabrina, Adrien tells them he'll try to call for help. Rose proclaims, "Good idea!" while Sabrina notes he's heading towards the bathroom.
  • Chat Noir manages to get Reflekta's attention by taunting her... only to realize he doesn't have a plan for what to do next.
Chat Noir: [dodging Reflekta's attacks] So you've got her attention, now what, Chat Noir?!
Caption: When you're suddenly in the distraction role but you're severely out of practice because you've been in the leadership role this whole time.
  • Hawkmoth gets sassed by yet another akuma:
Hawkmoth: You should've taken his Miraculous!
Reflekta: Has anyone ever told you you're really annoying?
Hawkmoth: You have literally one job!
  • When Chloé's confrontation with Marinette is interrupted by Reflekta, she bemoans that an akuma had to show up. You know, the same akuma that she intentionally tried to cause by locking Juleka in the bathroom.
  • Marinette panics upon seeing Plagg and calls him a tiny cat-mouse, which is followed by Plagg saying he's had worse reactions.
  • Marinette as Maotif pulls a Big Damn Heroes to save Scarlet Lady... who isn't exactly grateful:
    Scarlet Lady: WHO ARE YOU!?
Maotif: Oh yeah, you come with the job.
  • Adrien, of course, is not happy with Plagg picking a replacement... until he realizes just whom she is. Then he's fully on board.
  • Scarlet Lady and Maotif both laugh when they see Chat Noir after he's been transformed to look like Reflekta.
  • Reflekta's Oh, Crap! face when she realizes Maotif is about to jump at her from behind is hilarious.
  • Adrien and Juleka can't help but snicker when Marinette sheepishly admits to having stolen the photographer's SD card; Juleka even calls her a "criminal cutie."
  • Chloé proves to be so petty that she doesn't join the retake, claiming that she already has "her photo" (the one where she is being shoved off Adrien).
  • When Alya complains that no one got to take a photo of Maotif, Juleka happily replies that she got a couple of selfies with the new heroine. The next panel has Juleka laughing and running away from Alya in the background.

Timebreaker: Tales of Alix the Skater
  • Alim all but confirms (by way of Suspiciously Specific Denial) that the Kubdel tradition of giving the watch to the last child is something he made up just so Jalil doesn't get the heirloom.
  • Scarlet Lady doesn't even bother to fake putting effort towards stopping Timebreaker. She literally just goes onto a rooftop, thinking Timebreaker can't reach her up there. Marinette calls the Ladybug heroine out, declaring that she's filming Scarlet Lady ignoring the akuma and implying that unless the heroine acts, she'll ensure others get to enjoy that footage as well. Scarlet jumps down to yell at her and promptly gets tagged in the back. Marinette's expression says it all.
  • When Chat Noir meets up with Past!Adrien, the former calling Scarlet Lady Scar confirms to the latter that he is the real deal. Past!Adrien then asks what a world without Scarlet Lady is like, and Chat bemoans tearfully that he never got to enjoy it.
  • Scarlet Lady is angry with both Chats and says they will have to beg her to help. They both agree that it will be better if she stays out of the way. Later, one of them decides she will be useful as a distraction, Cataclysms her elevated perch, and dumps her into the fight. At that point, Marinette shows up with a better plan; the current Chat then grabs Scar's yo-yo while the future Chat uses the one he has, and together, they catch the akumas. Scar complains loudly about her yo-yo getting taken again.
  • Marinette runs home when future Timebreaker and Chat Noir show up, not wanting to be caught up in an akuma attack for once. But after she's given Mrs. Chamack her cake, she just can't resist getting on a bike and riding back to the fight to help. Even funnier, the author refuses to confirm whether the bike was actually Marinette's or someone else's.
  • Kim mistakes being unable to dare people for the rest of the year as meaning the actual year and thinks that he doesn't have to wait too long because it's December. His face when Max tells him it's actually for the rest of the school year is hilarious.
  • Sabine trying not to sound too angry about Mrs. Chamack's early arrival nearly ruining her and Tom's anniversary.

Simon Says: Tales of Simon the Hypnotist
  • Mireille cheerfully notes that Alec does whatever Aurore asks (due to getting caught rigging the weather girl contest against her back in "Stormy Weather"). Aurore gives a small Evil Laugh in response.
Caption: Aurore owns this studio now.
  • Chloé wants Adrien to appear on the show already despite the fact that (as Tikki points out) Nino is the one competing.
  • Both Adrien and Nino have simultaneous Oh, Crap! reactions when they hear that Simon is up against Gabriel Agreste, lamenting "Oh no, he's screwed." Marinette, who doesn't know Gabriel that well, blandly says, "Oh, it's your dad."
  • As soon as Gabriel turns off the video call, he immediately runs off to transform, referencing how quickly he was apparently able to change between locations in canon.
  • Nathalie's reaction to overhearing the deal between Hawkmoth and Simon is to think, "I do not get paid enough for this."
    • Simon's reply to Hawkmoth's offer:
      Simon Says: Simon says... yes.
    • Chat Noir's response to Simon Says's introduction:
Chat Noir: Chat Noir says, shut up and gimme your cards!
  • Chloé is actually motivated to go out and fight:
Chloé: I have to protect my Adrikins!
Tikki: But does he want your protection?
  • In a sort of Twisted Echo Cut, both top panels of episode 4 show a superhero attacking, with both exclaiming "Hyah!" In one, Chat Noir flips The Gorilla into an open elevator. In the other, Scarlet Lady kicks in a door to look for Adrien, to the astonishment of Marinette and Nino.
    • In a moment of Black Comedy, Gorilla has a hilarious Oh, Crap! expression as the elevator he's inside starts to plummet. Chat Noir does as well, even muttering, "... I'm sure he's fine..." in an attempt to convince himself. The author remarks in the tags, though, that Chat Noir probably just killed a man.
    • When Marinette asks Scarlet Lady how she knew Adrien was down at the studio, her reply, "My love radar always knows" (she actually overheard Adrien saying he was going there at school), makes her look like a stalker. Not only that, but Marinette is actually Right for the Wrong Reasons when she accuses the Ladybug heroine of stalking Adrien.
Caption: Pst, Scarlet, people don't know you're Chloe, you're not supposed to have this insider information you creep!
  • Seeing Adrien rushing up, Scarlet Lady charges forward with her eyes closed, saying, "I came, my Prince!" When he hugs Nino instead, she has a Falling into His Arms fail, crashing to the ground with Amusing Injuries and Instant Bandages.
  • On arrival at the Agreste mansion, Scarlet Lady initially thinks that she has been invited to hang out with Adrien in his room. When Gabriel asks, "Mme. Scarlet, are you not here to protect me?" she scowls and curses to herself.
  • Gabriel and Nino glaring at each other, clearly remembering their encounter on Adrien's birthday.
  • Marinette and Nino debating who sucks more, Gabriel or Scarlet Lady.
  • Gabriel is... rather taken aback to learn that the supposed Worthy Opponent who impressed him with her sense of strategy during the Bubbler incident is in actuality shallow, egotistical, and bossy and thinks she'd be the perfect match for his son. Chat takes advantage of this to get a real zinger off at his unknowing father.
  • Once again, Gabriel winds up winded when he rushes back to his secret lair to start giving Simon Says orders again.
  • Scarlet Lady's incompetence leads to Nathalie, Nino, and Marinette being captured along with Gabriel and taken to the TV studio. While there, Nathalie has to stop herself from laughing out loud when Simon Says makes Gabriel act like a butterfly.
    • Marinette sees Nathalie looking away (to hide her snorting) and tries to comfort the older woman, mistakenly thinking she's crying.
    • As Nathalie starts showing off her fighting abilities, Nino bewilderingly asks, "What kind of assistant are you?"
Caption: Look Nino, when your boss is Gabriel -I-Make-A-Living-On-Being-An-Asshole- Agreste you learn how to defend yourself.
    • When Gabriel is made to act like a plane, Nathalie just grabs him by his jacket and says "No."
  • In the page 10 bonus, Gabriel asks Adrien if he's interested in Scarlet Lady:
    Adrien: Ew. No.
    Gabriel: Oh, thank God.
  • Adrien revealing how he convinced Gabriel to let him come to Nino's second appearance in the show: threatening to wear a T-shirt that says "Get meowt of here" to a fashion show—with a cat throwing a double bird.
    Marinette: Oh my god.
    Alya: The ultimate rebellion.
  • Chloé learning about Adrien's thoughts on Scarlet Lady, as well as her reaction to it per Word of God.
Chloé: Adrihoney~! I heard you got visited by the amazing Scarlet Lady.
Adrien: [yawning] Ugh, yeah, and I have the eyebags to prove it.
Chloé: Soooo? Isn't she ultra fab? Don't you just love her?
    Adrien: Ew. No.
Caption: This answer will be dutifully ignored on the basis that it wasn't the one Chloe wanted to hear.

Volpina: Tales of Lila the FOX
  • Just like in the show, Lila has some hilarious reaction faces when something unexpected happens.
  • In the header on the page, the title of the episode is written as "Lila The Liar" with liar being crossed out.
  • The first page of the chapter, which features Lila's introduction to the class, is tagged with "#heeeeere she is the biggest liar in the uuuuniverse."
  • When Lila is introducing herself, Adrien is passed out at his desk, drooling, while Nino pokes him with a pencil.
  • Lila claiming she is best friends with Scarlet Lady impresses Alya, Rose, and Kim... while Marinette, Alix, and Nino (who've all had bad personal experiences with Scarlet Lady) all look utterly horrified. They're even all standing right behind their new classmate, not that she notices.
  • Both Adrien and Plagg have cat smiles when they notice Gabriel walking away from a safe.
  • When Adrien and Plagg steal Gabriel's book, the author says Plagg probably came up with the saying about it being better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
  • Instead of hiding in the library (as Marinette did in canon) to find out what Lila is up to, Chloé charges in and Glomps onto Adrien. The author comments, "Chloé failed this stealth mission right away."
  • Lila is noticeably struggling to maintain her "nice" demeanor when her attempt to invoke a Commonality Connection with Adrien over their apparent love of superheroes gets shot down by Chloé, who proclaims to also adore superheroes, just like everyone else.
Tags: #lol seriously lila in this day and age loving superheroes doesn't make you special
  • Thanks to the Chloé's intervention in the conversation, Lila gets the idea that Adrien has a "soft spot" for Scarlet Lady and repeats the lie that she is the superheroine's friend under the impression that this will endear her to Adrien.
  • Chloé is completely shocked when Tikki tells her she must follow Lila and Adrien (Tikki wants to get Adrien's book). She would've done it anyway but didn't expect Tikki to agree.
  • When Plagg tells Adrien that Lila stole Gabriel's book, it convinces Adrien that she really is friends with Scarlet Lady.
  • Chloé refuses to touch the book after Tikki rescues it from a trash can out of disgust.
  • Lila is called out about her lies, first by Adrien because "Scarlet Lady would never go out of her way to save anyone!" and then by Scar herself for claiming to be her best friend. The "heroine" sends Lila into a fountain with a Spectacular Spinning move.
  • When Marinette gets the book and is looking through it, she notes that the Ladybug hero doesn't look like Scarlet Lady:
    Marinette: So there is hope.
  • Lila's response when Hawkmoth tells her that she can make Paris believe she is a hero?
Lila: Shouldn't be hard given the abysmal example they have to go off of!
Hawkmoth: Oh, I'm going to like you.
  • Chat Noir reacts unfavorably when Volpina boasts that she's the only superheroine Paris needs.
    • The heroes' reactions when they notice "Hawkmoth":
    Volpina: Hey, look, it's Hawkmoth.
Scarlet Lady: Like I'm falling for that!
Chat Noir: Holy #$%@ it's Hawkmoth!
    Scarlet Lady: What?!
Chat Noir: I mean I think so. We don't actually know what he looks like, so...
    • Chat has a puzzled face when Volpina acts nice. He then quickly realizes Volpina is Lila (though not that she's an akuma)... and as she and Scarlet Lady start shouting about who's in charge, he bails on them. Both his annoyed look and Volpina's puzzled face are priceless.
  • Volpina's face when she sees even Chat hates Scarlet Lady... and the latter's face when Volpina brings out the (illusionary) missiles and reveals herself as an akumatized villain.
  • Volpina finally realizing whom she's dealing with:
Volpina: You really are a villain!
Caption: You're the only one who's surprised, Volpina.
  • Adrien greets Volpina with a Death Glare when the akuma shows up at his window immediately after he realizes that Lila threw his father's book away after she stole it rather than trying to return it.
  • This exchange when Scarlet Lady notices Marinette in Adrien's room:
  • When Volpina finds out that Marinette hates Scarlet Lady, too, she grips Marinette's hands and stares at her with starry eyes.
Caption: Is this the Lilanette you were asking for?
  • Marinette isn't exactly happy when Volpina grabs her hands:
Marinette: [sweatdropping] I'm not helping you. I hate Hawkmoth more.
  • Scarlet Lady and Volpina both fighting over Adrien, to the point where he orders all three girls out of his room...causing the two "heroes" to start blaming each other.
Adrien: If everyone could leave, that'd be great!
    • Adrien later hopes he didn't offend Marinette. Plagg says, "Just tell her it's one of your 'stress showers'."
  • Chat's reaction to Volpina taking an illusion of Adrien hostage. Meanwhile, Marinette just leaves while nonchalantly telling Nathalie that Adrien was abducted by an akuma.
  • Volpina learns the hard way that not even using Adrien as a hostage changes the way Scarlet responds... or rather, it doesn't change it in the akuma's favor.
Volpina: [dangling Illusion!Adrien by his wrist] Give me your Miraculous or else!
    Scarlet: [grinning evilly] Do it.
Volpina: Gawd, what is wrong with you?!
  • The way Volpina is defeated. Not seeing how the Lucky Charm can help, Scarlet Lady decides to use the wrapping to improve her tan and ends up blinding Volpina by accident.
  • After having one last shouting match with Scarlet Lady, Lila leaves... and Chat wonders one thing:
Chat Noir: ... How does she plan on getting down?
    • Gets even better when the final panel shows she did indeed get down and even go home... but we don't know how.
    • The tags do providea partial explanation, though:
Tags: #Lila's using the elevator of spite to get down #but mostly just the elevator
  • Adrien using Agreste Manor's security system to keep Scarlet Lady out. The fic's author comments, "Finally that security system came in handy."

The Collector: Tales of Gabriel the TOP SECRET
  • Gabriel's description in the episode's title is covered with TOP SECRET.
  • When Master Fu presents himself as the one who gave Adrien the Miraculous, Adrien immediately guesses he also gave the earrings to Scarlet Lady... and is more than ready to hit him for that. Fu has to quickly tell him she wasn't his intended candidate before Adrien follows through on it.
  • Fu explains that the book contains recipes for spells and power ups... that will have to be shared with Scarlet Lady:
Adrien: You mean I have to share power-ups with Scar?
    Fu: My condolences.
  • Master Fu tells Adrien he always suspected that whoever had the Grimoire also had the Butterfly and the Peacock Miraculous and asks Adrien where he got the book from. It becomes awkward when Adrien says it was from his father.
  • Adrien laments that given how rarely he even sees his father, it'll be hard to investigate the possibility that Gabriel is Hawkmoth. He then opens the door to his house and find Gabriel standing right in front of the grand staircase, clearly displeased with his son.
Caption: Oh sure NOW you decide to be present!
  • Gabriel reveals he knows Adrien took the Grimoire and decides to pull Adrien out of school as punishment. Adrien, however, counters that if that happens, he'll tell his friends—one of whom has personal ties to Nadja Chamack, a news reporter—which in turn could become a PR disaster for Gabriel doing so over what would seem like a trivial matter. Gabriel awkwardly backpedals on the punishment.
Gabriel: You're... grounded? For a month?
Adrien: Better. You almost sound like a parent.
  • Chloé's Comical Overreacting to the news that Adrien is grounded: she thinks it means he'll never come back to school, and her tears cause her mascara to run all down her face. (The author notes that she doesn't know what being "grounded" means.) Moreover, Adrien is in trouble because his father's book was lost... the same book Chloé could have retrieved but didn't because it had been in a trash can.
  • Adrien uses Loophole Abuse to leave the house as Chat Noir despite being grounded. Plagg definitely approves.
    Plagg: Aren't you grounded?
Adrien: You know who's not grounded?
    Plagg: Eyyy!
  • Nathalie's reaction to being attacked by The Collector:
    Nathalie: M. Agreste... the #$%@.
The Collector: [with sparkles around his words] Call me The Collector!
Nathalie: I'm going to hit you when you lose.
  • Upon discovering that Adrien's escaped, Gabriel complains, "What's the point of grounding my son if he's not here when I attack him as an akuma?!"
  • Scar's Skewed Priorities are on full display as she ponders the concept of Gabriel being Hawkmoth:
Scarlet: [thinking seriously] If I defeat Hawkmoth, then my reign as Scarlet Lady is over! I'd only be celebrated for a few months after!
Chat: He fits the profile: total recluse, financially stable, a total d**k, you're not listening...
Scarlet: [beaming with anticipation] But then I'd get to comfort my poor, lonely Adrien!
Chat: You know, your poker face sucks.
  • Chat Noir and Scarlet Lady see the mess Gabriel has left in his office:
Scarlet: Ugh, someone threw a temper tantrum.
Chat: You would know exactly what that looks like.
    Scarlet: What'd you say?!
  • When The Collector arrives, Scarlet immediately summons her Lucky Charm, only to reveal that she has no clue what a bike pedal is. Meanwhile, The Collector's visibly annoyed at being ignored.
The Collector: Why do I even bother with my evil monologues?
Caption: He worked on that speech for days, guys!
  • Scarlet sends her yo-yo at The Collector, yelling "Take this!" He says, "Thanks, I will!" and, in a Visual Pun, he uses his book to capture it.
  • Scarlet Lady manages to use the bike pedal... by whacking The Collector with it. The author quips, "Scarlet has fully embraced the Brute Force It methodology when it comes to Lucky Charms." Ironically, this is one of the few times she actually directly does her job.
  • After The Collector is defeated and Chat Noir tells Gabriel that his son is safe. Chat Noir promptly grabs Scarlet Lady on his way out as he does, with her once again complaining all the while.
  • Right after getting the Grimoire back from Fu, Adrien goes home, prepared to get himself ungrounded by returning the book to Gabriel. Unfortunately, he has the bad luck of running into both his dad and Marinette right as the latter is explaining to Gabriel how she already found the book and returned it to Adrien.
    • Nevertheless, Adrien just goes along with Marinette's account and produces the book from his bag. When Gabriel then asks Adrien why he didn't mention that earlier, Adrien just asks, "Would you have listened?" Gabriel awkwardly blushes and coughs as he realizes Adrien has a point, and it's implied he immediately dropped the subject and agreed to end Adrien's punishment.
    • Moreover, Adrien can be seen doing a Lying Finger Cross behind his back as he asks that question, all while mentally noting how he didn't actually have the book with him earlier.
  • Marinette goes to Lila's home to give her notes on what she missed that day. Hilarity Ensues:
    • Lila's mom, whom the author flat-out admits she considers The Ditz. And it shows.
    • When Marinette tries to pass her the notes, Lila says she's not coming back after Scarlet Lady humiliated her like that. The exchange that follows is a hilarious Mythology Gag to Lila's antics in canon:
Marinette: So you're running away? You think you can trick your mom and miss a whole year of school?
Lila: [doing a crazy face] You underestimate my power.
    • When Lila explains she can't come back because Scarlet Lady has humiliated her and everyone loves the heroine, Marinette makes a priceless disgusted face as she replies "Yeah, no, Scarlet Lady sucks."
  • When Adrien returns to school, Chloé rushes at him and has another Falling into His Arms fail when he goes for Marinette instead.
  • Nathalie gets in one more servile snark at Gabriel. He defends akumatizing himself over the lost book even though he had made a copy, saying, "I did what was necessary to protect my secret." Nathalie sarcastically replies, "You're truly the picture of subtlety, sir" (after he has gone down the trapdoor to his lair and can't hear her).
  • Alix becomes Lila's friend, but Lila finds her attention "relentless" when Alix repeatedly texts her and tries to get her to go to Marinette's birthday party. It seems Lila will have to get used to having real friends who accept her as she is rather than followers she can manipulate with lies.

La Befana: Tales of Gina the Witch
  • When Chloé wants to find out what her classmates are planning, they refuse to tell her and she whines to Mme. Bustier, who forces them to include her. She's then dismayed to learn they're planning Marinette's birthday party.
  • In the bonus image, after learning that Chloé got invited, Alya tells Sabrina that she is now the "Chloé wrangler" for the party. Sabrina instantly accepts with comical seriousness.
  • Tikki changes from being worried that Chloé will try to ruin Marinette's party to jealous that Marinette once used Plagg's Miraculous to excited when Plagg offers her the hair he saved from the time Marinette was Maotif so quickly Plagg can't keep up with her.
  • Tom Dupain does the Bumbling Dad thing, getting flustered and throwing Marinette's birthday cake into the trash so she doesn't see it when she rushes downstairs to answer the doorbell. Sabine quickly agrees to Gina taking Marinette out of the house, telling Tom, "After all, we have to remake the cake."
  • Chloé does some petty mischief to try to ruin Marinette's party—throwing her presents in a bush and unplugging the music system. Chloé congratulates herself on how much trouble she is causing, not knowing that her "wrangler," Sabrina, is following her and undoing everything she does. The utterly bored expression Sabrina sports sells it.
  • Hawkmoth akumatizing Gina in a bonus page. As the caption under the page says, "Don't akumatize out of towners! They don't know your deal!"
    Hawkmoth: Befana, I am Hawkmoth.
    La Befana: Who?
Hawkmoth: The...the guy who makes akumas? Is in constant pursuit of the Ladybug earrings and Cat ring?
    La Befana: What?
  • Marinette when she notices Chloé at the party. She then gets in a zinger on the unwanted birthday guest:
    Marinette: Why's Chloé here?
    Chloé: I was invited—
    Other classmate:note  Bustier made us.
Marinette: So, where's your gift, Chloé?
Chloé: Um, the gift of my presence, obvi.
    Marinette: I want the receipt.
  • When La Befana crashes the party and attacks Marinette, she declares that she's going to punish her for lying about eating her candy. Marinette complains about how it's the one thing she lied about purely to spare Gina's feelings.
  • A bonus panel shows Lila watching the chaos unfold from her window, quietly horrified. The narration notes that her decision to stay home might have been the right call after all.
  • Chloé baffles La Befana's moral judgement with The Power of Apathy, unwittingly saving herself from being turned into coal or a fairy:
La Befana: Will you protect Marinetta? Or punish her?!
    Chloé: I don't care.
La Befana: Um, what? What does that mean? Coal? Fairy?
Chloé: [pointing at Marinette] She's getting away, you know.
  • What actually gets Chloé to go after La Befana? The akuma turning Chloé's driver to stone.
  • Marinette's little meltdown is just as adorable as it is funny.
  • Chat Noir tries to hide Marinette from La Befana but realizes that Scarlet Lady led the villainess right to her granddaughter. Chat Noir's fury as Scar gives a Defensive "What?" makes it priceless.
  • Scarlet Lady decides to use the Lucky Charm when La Befana tells her "Cowardly bugs get coal, Scarlet Brat."
  • While La Befana turning Marinette into coal is not funny, an outraged Chat Noir putting the Lucky Charm in form of a tuba over her head certainly is. He is so utterly furious that even Scar is intimidated enough to listen to him.
  • Chloé, who forced her classmates to invite her, complains about Lila being invited.
  • Lila outright admits her present is a mask she wants to get rid of because it reminds her of Scarlet Lady.
Caption: You've heard of Liar Rossi, now get ready for No Filter Rossi!
  • Lila apologizes for her Celebrity Lies and is surprised when she's Easily Forgiven by most of the class. She then nervously laughs when Kim reassures her that it's not like she tried to trick them into doing her homework or carrying her things for her; she knows she would've done just that had she not been caught.
Lila: HAHAHAHA! Yeah, who would do that?!
Lila: [thinking, in a sweat] They can never know...

Kung Food: Tales of Wang Cheng the Chef
  • The chapter titles together form a Hurricane of Puns about food: "Let's Taco Bout It," "Lettuce Work Together," "Romaine Calm," "In Queso Didn't Know," "Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk," "Cake It Easy," "Don't Clam Up!," "Once in a Melon," "You're The Wurst," "Brie It On," "You Make Miso Happy," "The Pesto's Yet To Come," and "Camembert To Brie Apart."
  • Marinette does some Comical Overreacting when Cheng Shifu tears off some petals from the flowers she gave him (from the canon episode, we know he wants to use the petals as a soup ingredient), thinking her great-uncle hates her already.
  • Adrien jumps at the chance to help Marinette using his Mandarin skills and quickly arrives at her house after getting a call from Alya. He says he was in the neighborhood, but the narration reveals he "ran right over," which is evident from his huffing and sweating.
  • When she realizes that Cheng Shifu speaks French, Marinette pouts.
  • Both Marinette and Adrien are surprised when Mayor Bourgeois speaks to Cheng Shifu with almost Japanese Politeness. The author notes, "TFW the local asshole's father is respectful and it knocks you off balance."
  • Adrien's reaction when Chloé asks him to intervene in a conversation between her and Marinette:
Chloé: So it's your Uncle competing, Marinette Dupain-Cheng? Only a loser would try to compete with soup! As a judge, I'll be sure to fail him.
Marinette: Well, it's a good thing there are 4 other judges with better taste than you!
Chloé: Hey! Adrien, are you gonna let her talk to me like that?!
Adrien: Did she say something wrong?
Chloé: Ugh! You're gonna regret this!
  • After Adrien explains that Cheng plans to use the flowers in his soup, he asks who wouldn't love Marinette. Her response?
Marinette: Uh, Chloé, Scarlet Lady, jury's still out on your dad...
Adrien: I meant people with taste.
  • When Cheng explains that his soup was sabotaged, he wonders who would do something. Both Adrien and Marinette instantly realize it was Chloé.
  • When Hawkmoth akumatizes Cheng, he's frustrated at the fact he has to explain himself to another foreigner.
  • Tikki's reaction when she realizes that Chloé left her behind.
  • Chloé is so distracted by her phone call, she doesn't notice Kung Food's slaves approaching her.
  • While hanging on a rope over boiling soup, Chloé insists that she has done absolutely nothing to deserve this and worries that her hair is going to smell.
  • When Kung Food sends out his minions to find Marinette and Chat Noir, Jagged Stone pulls off a Naruto Run.
  • When fighting Jagged Stone (who's wielding a seafood club), Chat Noir makes such a horrible pun that Marinette can't help but comment on it.
    Chat Noir: This scampi happening!
Marinette: [with Sweat Drop] Chat, oh my gawd.
  • Marinette pulls a variation of Door Judo on Jagged Stone. She yells, "Hey Jagged Stone! I think XY is more rock n' roll than you!" When he charges at her, she dodges, pulling open the closet door behind her. Due to going Too Fast to Stop, Jagged falls inside the closet, allowing Chat Noir to lock him in with a chair.
    • Chat Noir and Marinette casually fist-bumping each other as the former slides the chair in place just seals it.
    • A tagline also mentions what Marinette apparently did afterwards offscreen:
Tags: #Marinette stops to wash her mouth out with soap for slandering Jagged Stone like that
  • Instead of the cold reply that canon Ladybug made to Chat Noir's lame pick-up line in the elevator, "We could go places," Marinette blushes and babbles—which makes Chat Noir blush as well.
Caption: Anime didn't prepare him for when the flirting WORKS!
    • Embarrassed Marinette is actually grateful for the Moment Killer when the elevator suddenly stops, thinking, "Oh thank God!"
  • The mayor is Caught Monologuing and gets an instant Non-Lethal K.O. from Chat Noir.
    • Kung Food calls him an idiot and useless; Chloé agrees.
    • A tagline for the page where the mayor is caught monologuing suggests this to be "why The Mime was actually formidable."
  • Chloé is scared of falling into the boiling hot soup beneath her... as it will ruin her hair.
  • When Kung Food starts sending his minions, Hawkmoth warns him to take down Chat Noir before attacking Marinette since "Attacking the girl never ends well." Later, Alec makes her eyes sting with smelly cheese... which makes Chat Noir goes berserk on him and Marlena while Hawkmoth Facepalms and laments, "Dammit, what did I tell you?" The caption sums it up perfectly:
Marinette: Gets some dust in her eyes.
    Chat Noir: YOU MOTHER-!
  • As a funny Easter Egg, every time the front of Kung Food's shirt is shown, there is a different face emoji on it.
  • When Chat Noir rescues Chloé from Kung Food, she starts to complain immediately. The annoyed Chat Noir just cuts her short, and Chloé then declares that she will put "him" in his place. Tikki wonders if she means Kung Food or Chat Noir.
  • Chloé is finally able to transform, and she confidently invokes "Lucky Charm." Kung Food then produces a BFS made of pepperoni pizza, scaring her so much that she lets the Lucky Charm hit her on the head.
  • Marinette manages to subdue Wang Cheng long enough for Chat Noir to hit him with a Cataclysm and free the corrupted akuma, much to Scarlet Lady's chagrin.
Scarlet Lady: I could've done that!
    Marinette: Then why didn't you?
  • At the end, Wang Cheng is given another chance for his entry. When Chloé tries to ruin the mood, Adrien points out that she was kicked off the jury by her father. She tries to save face by claiming she resigned, but Adrien points to the camera in the kitchen, showing that Chloé didn't think that the place was being monitored and that she couldn't talk her way out of it this time since she was caught in the act. Chloé can only give a flustered response to all of this. Even the caption calls her out on her stupidity.
Caption: How can you forget CAMERAS exist?!
  • There's quite a bit of Dramatic Irony when Adrien tells Master Fu about the fight. Fu notes how it's strange that Scarlet Lady didn't show up to save Chloé despite claiming to be her best friend, but Adrien just dismisses the whole thing because both Chloé and Scarlet Lady are liars.
Tags: #Fu's trying to have valid points Adrien stop shutting them down!

Evillustrator: Tales of Nathaniel the Artist
  • The Marinette in Nathaniel's comic-book fantasy says, "You're amazing and totally write me completely in character."
  • Adrien's Death Glare when Chloé shows Nathaniel's drawings to the class and exposes the latter's crush on Marinette. He even manages to crush a pen with his bare hands, much to Nino's shock.
Caption: I guess Adrien could afford to break a tablet pen like it's nothing.
  • Hawkmoth lampshades how early in the episode Nathaniel is akumatized. He also notes how the latter has "a Chloé Bourgeois grudge" and says that they make things fun for him.
  • When Sabrina and Marinette ask Chloé why exactly she'll be too busy to work on their project, Chloé claims it's none of their business. The next panel shows her looking up Scarlet Lady pictures.
  • Evillustrator attacks Chloé with a giant hair dryer. Chloé cries, "Aahhhh no! Mercy! Not my hair!"
  • Chat Noir arrives and annoys Evillustrator with his puns, making the akuma leave.
  • Chloé tries to make Chat do her homework for her, and when he refuses, she tells him he should leave if he won't do anything useful. So he does.
  • After Marinette agrees to go on a date with Evillustrator, Sabrina asks her what she's going to do about it. Marinette says she'll have to find a way to let Chat Noir know about it, only for Chat to immediately show up and ask in a panic if she's alright, having seen the akuma leave through her window.
Caption: Well, it all worked out in the end.
  • Sabrina is beside herself that she gets to meet Chat Noir and that he remembers her name (not knowing he probably wouldn't if she weren't his classmate).
  • Sabrina tells Marinette that her first day without Chloé was amazing. This causes Chloé to sneeze. It gets even better when an unamused Chloé has to do her work herself.
  • Marinette dresses up for the date, including wearing her hair in braids rather than pigtails. Chat Noir feels extremely envious, saying to himself that she's wasting that look on the akuma.
  • Evillustrator says that he always keeps his promises (in this case, he agreed he wouldn't hurt Chloé if Marinette went out with him). This is followed by a Description Cut to Alix, who is annoyed that Nathaniel has seemingly abandoned their plans to hang out on his birthday.
  • Marinette's reaction to Evillustrator claiming that she is just like Chloé. The villain is terrified.
  • Marinette bemoans her moral dilemma of whether to continue helping Chat Noir (and thus break her promise and make him worry) or leaving him to depend on a useless partner. Master Fu offers to walk her home, clearly ready to offer her a Miraculous, but she says, "Excuse me, I'm not done spiraling."
  • A page of Rapid-Fire Comedy when Evillustrator goes after Chloé:
  • Chat Noir growls and glares at Evillustrator hard enough to make him flinch, then KO's him with a hard throw of the small bouncy ball that Scarlet Lady gets as a Lucky Charm. As the author notes, Evillustrator "shouldn't have pushed the Marinette button."
  • The next day, Marinette gets startled by Adrien's sudden appearance when she closes her locker and asks him if he was hiding in one of the other lockers just so he could surprise her like that. He nervously denies it, making her realize that he really was.
  • Marinette's over-the-top expressions when she tells Adrien about her promise not to get involved in akuma fights anymore, which means she's forced to leave Chat Noir to rely on Scarlet Lady, who is "the worst."
  • Nathaniel then gets startled twice, first by Sabrina, then by Alix. He even lampshades this.
Nathaniel: [reacting to Alix yanking his scarf from the back] Ah! Why does this keep happening?!
  • Alix is initially annoyed that Nathaniel ditched their plans for his birthday and ignored her texts. Then he tells her why he abandoned her yesterday...
Alix: [fist-bumping Nathaniel] Welcome to the birthday akuma club!
Sabrina: [sweatdropss] You guys need therapy.
    Caption: Everybody needs therapy U_U
  • Master Fu briefly considers giving Marinette the Ox, but he says it "may be hard for a teenager to hide." Marinette is lucky, because the jewelry for the Ox Kwami Stompp is a nose ring.
  • When Master Fu is deciding which Miraculous to give Marinette, Wayzz asks him if he's going to put it in her purse again. Fu quickly denies that.

Season 3

Vanisher: Tales of Sabrina the Invisible
  • When Chloé wakes up to her cell phone alarm, she starts complaining about how the butler should have woken her up earlier. The lurking Vanisher (assuming Chloé is talking to herself) thinks "She sure likes the sound of her own voice." Though Chloé does talk to herself a lot, in this case, she is probably speaking to Tikki.
  • The casual way the other students take the disappearance of Chloé (with Lila laughing and saying the mocking pictures on the board are telling the truth) contrasts with the horrifying situation Chloé is actually in. She's at the mercy of Vanisher, is completely helpless, can't open doors, and won't even be able to eat or drink anything unless the akuma provides it. Sinc she and the earrings are in one dimension while Tikki is in another, there's no transformation or World-Healing Wave available. The situation, some might say, Crosses the Line Twice.
  • As Chat Noir declares he'll double his efforts in the search for the mayor's missing daughter due to Scarlet Lady's absence, the invisible Chloé does an Eyelid Pull Taunt at him, even though he's her only hope of beign freed.
  • Chloé has true Comedic Sociopathy. She never admits fault even when an angry akuma has pushed her down and has a sharp foot pointed at her chest.
Vanisher: ...You're the one who messed up, remember?
Chloé: Impossible. I never mess up!
  • The flashback to the day before: Chloé and Sabrina are about to have lunch when Chloé notices Jagged Stone is at the hotel and being interviewed by Nadja Chamak. First, Jagged isn't very happy when Chloé notices him. Secondly, Chloé starts going on about how she and Scarlet Lady are best friends who hung out yesterday in the hopes of getting an interview herself, only for Sabrina to point out that she is Chloé's best friend and that they were actually working on their school project yesterday. Chloé glares at Sabrina each time, with the comic using the exact same panel.
  • Jagged calls Chloé "the little psycho who almost poisoned me." He is not amused. Nadja thinks, "What a scoop! Isn't that the mayor's daughter!?"
  • Chloé seems to have forgotten her situation as she runs around calling, "Daddy, I'm right here, pay attention to me!" and "Everyone, stop ignoring me!" The author adds, "Just a crumb of attention." This is really getting to her where she lives.
  • In practically the same breath as calling for his missing daughter, the mayor adds, "And all your clothes!? They were expensive!"
  • Plagg's face when he eats the cheese Adrien gave him.
  • Adrien crosses his Rage Breaking Point and flies into a rage after hearing that Scarlet Lady won't be coming for the third time in a row. It ends with him curled up in a Troubled Fetal Position.
  • Master Fu tells Tikki to go with Chat Noir to help stop the akuma but warns her to only use the World-Healing Wave and not Lucky Charm. While Adrien is questioning this, Tikki has an Imagine Spot of Chat Noir being buried under countless ladybug-patterned items. If you carefully check, most of the items in the pile are ones that Scarlet Lady has previously summoned.
  • The fact that Chloé still hasn't stopped shouting at people despite knowing that no one can hear her.
  • There's something oddly humorous about Master Fu walking through the front door of the Dupain-Cheng bakery to make sure that Marinette gets the Miraculous this time to make sure nothing goes wrong.
  • Chloé's increasing desperation to have someone pay attention to her.
  • Marinette gets surprised by another Kwami.
  • Pollen gives a little giggle when Marinette asks if she can help Chat Noir and a little hum when Marinette asks for instructions.
  • Everyone having a genuine Freak Out about Marigold's grand debut. It becomes even funnier when you think about their (escalating) reasons:
  • Without Scarlet Lady to do it, how does the akuma get purified? Tikki eats it and then spits out the Miraculous Cure.
    • Tikki trying to say "Miraculous Ladybug" with an akuma in her mouth. It sounded like "Mwaculush... Bladybub!" Marigold and Chat Noir are shocked by Tikki spitting out the Miraculous Cure.
    • It becomes even funnier when reading the author's notes. They note that the heroes are plastered against the windows because Tikki created so many magical ladybugs for the cure that it fills the building almost to bursting. This is the promised negative consequence of doing the cure without her holder.
  • Chloé gets a put-down as Sabrina finally rejects her:
Chloé: You're such a wuss you became an akuma and attacked your best friend!
Sabrina: You are not my friend.
Chloé: Excuse you, I am the one breaking up with you!
Sabrina: Either way, we're not friends, stupid!
  • Hawkmoth rants at how much harder things will be for him now that the heroes have "a bee with a one-hit K.O.?!"
  • Chat Noir suggests "New-Bee" as a Punny Name for the Bee heroine, but she takes the name "Marigold" for the flowers she used against Vanisher.
  • Marigold has an Expressive Accessory: when Chat Noir doesn't respond as warmly as she'd hoped, the hair ribbons on each side of her head droop in disappointment.
  • Pollen enthusiastically endorses the name choice of "Marigold," saying it's the "Herb of the Sun," representing "passion and creativity" and also "cruelty and grief—traits often associated with revered queens." Marinette finds this a little off-putting.
  • Tikki's use of the Miraculous Cure leaves her with a stomach ache well after the action is over.
  • Marinette gets a visit from Chat Noir after the battle. When she says that they were lucky the new Bee heroine showed up, he responds, "I guess." She gets a little anime-style "JAB" arrow to the head from this and then has a Comical Angry Face with Cross-Popping Veins as she asks, "Something wrong with the new girl, Chat Noir?" She does calms down when he explains that he has trouble trusting other heroes after Scarlet Lady and Volpina, though.
Caption: Came real close to being punched out on my balcony, Noir.
  • Marinette offers Pollen a sugarcube while asking what the Kwami likes to eat, thinking it'll be somethin glike sugar, honey, or flower pollen. She gets Blank White Eyes of shock when Pollen reveals that her favorite food is chili peppers instead. They would be hard for Marinette to get from the bakery, but the author says, "... since Marinette is into gardening (she's got those rose bushes on her balcony) she's fine with having a little chili pepper plant just for Pollen."
  • Chloé gets a taste of her own medicine—when she makes her dramatic return to school, nobody cares, all of them busy talking about Marigold. The only question Chloé is asked, by Alya, is, "Got any info on the new heroine?" Chloé replies, "NO! Who cares about her?!"
  • The difference between Adrien and Marinette hiding their identities: Marinette stays up all night making resin-cast bee accessories to hand out to her friends, claiming she was inspired by Marigold, so that it looks like the Bee Miraculous is just one more item out of that batch. When Nino notices Adrien's ring, Adrien just lies and says he's had it for years.
  • Marinette kindly asks Lila which accessory she would like, not noticing Adrien and Alya's Death Glares behind her (as the two are still mad at Lila for stealing the book and lying about being friends with Scarlet Lady on the Ladyblog, respectively). Lila nervously tells Marinette that any one is alright.
  • Chloé apparently thinks she's such a target because all the akumas are jealous of her; Tikki snarks that that's probably not the problem.
  • Chloé finally realizes one big problem with breaking off her friendship with Sabrina: she now has to do her own schoolwork.

Riposte: Tales of Kagami the Fencer
  • Upon meeting with an unsubtle Pollen, Tikki tells her that she has to hide herself to protect Marigold's secret identity. Plagg declares it shouldn't be a problem since, thanks to the spell on the Kwamis, none of them can say their respective holders' names... and Pollen promptly points to Marinette and (without saying her holder's name) asks if that means she can't tell them that's her holder. Cue Tikki crying at the unfairness of it all. (That her chosen holder is even further out of her reach than before, that Pollen figured out a loophole after about three seconds, or both? You make the call!)
  • Alix reaches out to Sabrina to see how she's doing after breaking up with Chloé. Lila then makes a "friendly" offer to let Sabrina do her homework, earning a jab in the ribs from Alix.
  • Chloé puts up a "BFF Tryouts" list to replace Sabrina, but nobody signs up. When she demands why, everyone gives legitimate reasons for hating her.
    • In addition, Nathaniel just says "You suck" rather than mentioning the event that got him turned into an akuma like everyone else.
    • Chloé is outraged and demands to know who asked them.
  • Marinette is interested in the fencing tryouts, saying, "It could be useful!" The author notes, "N-not for any...you know, particular reason." (Marigold's Venom move is essentially a touché with a short weapon.)
  • At tryouts, Marinette quickly defeats Adrien. Chloé promptly cheers for her "Adrichéri," who just tells her off for being disruptive and informs her that it was Marinette who got the point in their bout.
  • When Kagami shows up to demand a place in the fencing school, Chloé says, "Wow, what a noisy show off." The irony is lost on her. Marinette and Marc both give the bully epic side-eyes.
  • It's repeatedly noted that Kagami is needlessly making things harder for herself:
    • When told that she needs to defeat one of D'Argencourt's students to be admitted to his fencing school, she immediately challenges his best combatant. The entire team sweatdrops as they note than she doesn't have to.
    • Kagami suggests that she and Adrien disconnect themselves from the machines. Marc notes that by doing so, she just gave up the only impartial judge she had.
    • Kagami pushes Adrien off the mat, which Marinette notes is an illegal move. The taglines even state how counterproductive this is and that it would never be allowed in an official tournament. However, D'Argencourt is so excited by it being "real fencing" that he doesn't do anything about it.
    • She also drives the bout up the stairs and away from all the qualified observers.
Tags: None of you are going to finals with rule breaking moves like that
  • There are three witnesses that D'Argencourt asks about the results of the fencing match: Marc, Marinette, and Chloé. Marc panics and abstains, Marinette in a fluster tries to analyze the rule breakage (which is promptly rejected), and Chloé instantly makes a partisan call in favor of Adrien. D'Argencourt accepts Chloé's opinion without a second thought and calls it a "clear victory" for his school, much to Marinette's incredulity.
  • When Kagami accepts the decision of the referee that she lost, Chloé gloats, "See? Even she knows to listen to her superiors." Kagami responds by driving her saber into the floor right next to Chloé's foot. The author notes, "Real close to losing a toe there, Chlo."
  • When they see Kagami's face, both Adrien and Marinette think in unison, "Shit she's cute."
  • Chloé gets excited when she sees the akuma going after Kagami; Tikki just complains that she doesn't get enough cookies for having to put up with her holder.
  • The Running Gag of akuma victims from outside Paris having no idea what's going on continues. Kagami watches wide-eyed as the butterfly wiggles through the car door and looks completely flummoxed when Hawkmoth starts talking to her. The author quips, "Welcome to our fair city, Kagami!"
  • Scarlet Lady has a 0% Approval Rating with Marinette and Adrien. When Riposte appears, they shout, "Oh no, she's an akuma!" When Scar shows up, they yell, "Even worse!"
  • Adrien's driver is neglected again. The author notes, "Maybe worry about your driver who just hopped an intersection in half a car." The tags add, "#i'm sure he's fine," referring back to what Chat Noir said in "Simon Says" when he sent The Gorilla crashing down in a broken elevator.
  • Riposte declares, "This won't take long!" when she starts attacking Scarlet Lady before her "rematch" with Adrien. Scar replies, "Rude!"
  • Scarlet Lady gives a for once deserved What the Hell, Hero? to Marigold, saying, "You got my prince hurt?! I should fire you, you wanna-bee." However, the author notes, "Scar you don't have the authority to fire anyone."
  • Marigold hides Adrien in a sarcophagus at the Louvre, which isn't good for his claustrophobia. But because she praises Chat Noir by saying, "Yeah, don't you know? He's the real hero of Paris," he forgives her for locking him in the case, and his respect meter for het goes up a bit more.
  • Marigold does a literal Facepalm when she realizes that Scarlet Lady allowed Riposte to follow her to the Louvre, where Marigold hid Adrien. "Oh my gawd, you're so stupid," she laments.
  • When Chat Noir arrives, he and Marigold engage in Witty Banter similar to the lines between him and Ladybug in canon.
Chat Noir: There's a fencing tournament at the Louvre and I wasn't invited?
Marigold: Well don't take so long at the vet!
    Chat Noir: Pft!
  • When Scarlet Lady begins demanding to know where Adrien is, Chat gets her to leave by pointing out that since she's about to detransform, people will see her with Messy Hair. She quickly runs off. Then, as Adrien meets up with Marinette and Kagami, Chloé is glaring at them but doesn't want them to see her hair. Tikki can be seen grinning smugly at her holder's frustration.
  • Marinette gives Adrien and Kagami a hug and them has to introduce herself since Kagami never got her name back at the gym. Kagami also has a rather alarmed expression compared to Adrien's very happy one.
  • When Marinette and Adrien try to convince Kagami not to give up due to how much D'Argencourt drooled over her match with Adrien, Kagami notes that that's not what Chloé saw but refers to her as Marinette's friend. Marinette makes a disgusted face at that idea, which causes Kagami to laugh.
  • Rather than come up with a name for Kagami's school, the author uses in its place a crossed-out "blah blah blah."
  • At the end of the episode, Plagg tells Adrien some bad news:

Captain Hardrock: Tales of Anarka the Pirate
  • Alya being completely blown away by how in denial Marinette is of her feelings for Adrien.
  • After Anarka tells the kids that everything is allowed on the Liberty, Chloé promptly shows up. Juleka then clarifies that everything goes on the Liberty except her. Anarka agrees.
    • Ivan's solution to getting rid of Chloé is to pick her up, haul her off the ship, and then draw up the gangplank so she can't get back on board.
    • Chloé is so furious, vengeful, and petty that she actually goes right to the nearest police officer and files a false noise complaint about the Liberty before anyone onboard has played a single note. She even rides in the police car and waves to everyone to inform them that she's behind their concert being shut down.
  • Alya can dish out the heavy hints about crushes, but she can't take them—she freaks out and blushes when Marinette connects one of her friend's hints about her and Adrien to Alya and Nino instead.
  • Gabriel revokes his permission for Adrien to attend the concert. Plagg tries to comfort him, only to learn Adrien's got something else on his mind:
Adrien: What do you think, pink dye or blue dye this time?
    Plagg: [visibly sweatdropping]
    • Nino then gets a call updating him on the situation... and asking what his favorite color is.
Nino: Adrien, put the credit card down!
    • Alya and Marinette's reactions to Nino's side of the phone call.
Tags: #adrien, we can talk about this rationally and wITHOUT an Amazon Prime account!
  • Luka and Marinette's first meeting amounts to an attempt to out-dork each other. Said meeting ends with Marinette slapping her cheeks and thinking, "What are you doing?! Your heart belongs to Chat Noir!" Pollen is confused by her reaction.
  • As Adrien watches the reporting on the music festival on TV, Nadja proclaims, "You'd have to be a complete loser to miss it!"
  • Plagg tries to comfort Adrien by giving a "private concert." To Adrien's dismay, said concert is Plagg's off-key song about how cheese astounds the Kwami. Unlike in canon, where Adrien gives Plagg a gentle, wimpy compliment for his attempt, this version of Adrien covers his ears, throws back his head, and curses.
Caption: Things could always be worse, Adrien.
  • Marinette describes Luka as cool, nice, and mature. The next panel shows Luka worried about looking cool in front of her.
  • Everyone reacting with an "Oh, C'MON!" when they realize that Chloé is the one who submitted the noise complaint.
  • As Roger begins ticketing Anarka for various Felony Misdemeanors, one is because he got seasick. In canon, he could have gotten this motion sickness from standing on the gangplank. Here, no gangplank means he's standing on the rock-solid dock.
  • Officer Roger has to deliver his tickets as paper airplanes because Anarka didn't put the gangplank back down after Chloé left. What makes it funnier is that Anarka waits for him to do this before responding.
  • When Hawkmoth proposes to give Captain Hardrock an indestructible ship to blast her music, she says, "Oh yeah that's a way better plan. I was just not gonna pay the tickets." The author comments, "Nobody thought you were gonna pay the tickets."
  • Chloé thinks Luka is cute, though badly dressed. She expects him to swoon from her name alone, but when he hears it, he instead gives her an ugly look, having plenty about her from Juleka. Clueless Chloé asks, "What's that look for?" As the author says, "Your reputation precedes you."
  • Chloé doesn't care that her father might be in danger, but as soon as Tikki mentions that her Celeb Crush XY might be as well, she suddenly starts caring.
  • When Captain Hardrock captures the teenagers on her ship, the chains she summons bind Ivan to Mylène, Juleka to Rose, Luka to Marinette, and Alya to Nino. As the author jokes, "The ship is a shipper!"
  • After Anarka is akumatized, thus interfering with the music festival, the news caption changes to "No fun allowed," with Nadja looking more fed up than anything else. This is juxtaposed with Chat Noir rejoicing at the danger reported on the news, happy that he now has an excuse to unground himself and can even check in on his friends. Then he sees Scarlet Lady heading the same direction. "Good feeling gone," he sighs. In the end tags the author says, "#scar really knows how to suck the joy out of anything."
  • Marigold and Scarlet Lady exchange some burns. The author says in the end notes, "Marigold bringing extra SASS today."
Marigold: It's harder to sneak away than I thought.
Scarlet Lady: Ha! That just proves how much of a new-bee you are!
Marigold: Must be easy for you because you don't have friends.
  • When Captain Hardrock and Chat Noir are dueling, she calls him a scallywag, landlubber, and bilge rat. He insists that he's a bilge cat.
  • As the members of Kitty Section and their friends beach the ship, Luka laments how sore they're all going to be tomorrow.
  • Scarlet Lady brags, "Your hero has once again saved the day." Someone in the crowd (who took part in beaching the ship) asks, "Uh, didn't we save the day?" Scar loudly denies it.
  • When Adrien says to his father that he hopes they can play the piano together since he can't go to his friends' concert, Gabriel changes his mind and allows Adrien to attend the concert so that Adrien won't know Gabriel hasn't played in ten years.
  • Rose yelling out that she and Juleka are dating by working it into the song lyrics... which completely went against Juleka's plan to stay out of the spotlight.
  • Luka and Adrien both cheerily compliment Marinette. After Luka calls her "cute," Adrien begins to say "Gorgeo--" before finally realizing he now has a love rival. The fact that Adrien gives Luka a jealous Death Glare as he catches on while Luka simply responds with a knowing smug makes it even better.

Syren: Tales of Ondine the Mermaid
  • As in "Kung Food," every title has a pun, this time sea related: "Fintastic," "Mermaid For Each Other," "Totally Shellfish," "Shorely You're Joking," "It's O-fish-al!," "Seas the Day," "A Bit Over-whale-ming," "That was on Porpoise!," "A Crabby Day," "You're Krilling Me," "Oh the Humanatee," "Let Minnow What You Think," "Oh, For Shore!," "We're Manta Be," "Sea You Later," and "Feeling a Little Jelly."
  • The fact that the animals somehow escaped from the zoo so easily is lampshaded when Kim and Ondine (and a random bystander), clearly worried, wonder how that could have happened. The author notes in the tags that she initially thought it was because Animan (who hasn't yet appeared in the comic) had returned in the canon episode.
Tags: #nope! they just GOT OUT
  • Kim unknowingly calls himself an idiot. Ondine thinks he's not wrong. The author quips, "Just know what you're signing up for, Ondine."
  • When Kim runs off to the movies, Ondine reaches out a hand and calls out to him making it look like she's going to say something like "Stay, I love you!" Instead, she yells, "At least take off the swim cap!"
  • Marigold lures the escaped panthers into the van by using her spinning top like a cat toy.
  • Chloé isn't interested in helping to round up the zoo animals... until she sees Chat Noir and Marigold being interviewed. She's then furious over being excluded from that.
  • After Chat Noir and Marigold finish up with the animals and the resulting interview, Scarlet Lady accuses them of keeping that a secret from her... prompting Chat Noir to point out that she literally just told them she saw them on TV.
  • Chat Noir reveals that he actually does know where Marigold got her Miraculous from, and he's not telling Scarlet Lady. He even says this while sticking his tongue out, causing the Ladybug heroine to throw a tantrum.
    • He later privately admits to Marigold that he doesn't actually know much more than Scarlet does but still relishes in her not knowing that.
    • Marigold seeing this unpleasant side of Chat Noir doesn't quite reach Broken Pedestal, but she still sweatdrops as she sighs, "You can be pretty childish when you want to." The author justifies, "Well, Marigold, when you're dealing with a child, sometimes you have to stoop to their level."
  • The Funny Background Event of the man cleaning in the background, only to then notice the akuma flying towards Ondine and run away.
  • Chloé is so annoyed over Chat Noir and Marigold keeping secrets from her that she forgets she was supposed to be seeing a movie with the rest of the class. Tikki decides not to remind her.
  • It seems Marinette has a reputation for being prompt. The author notes in the tags, "#alya you gotta get used to Marinette being late to things now that she has her... side job."
  • When the group at the theater realize their bully isn't coming, all of them throw up their arms delightedly and rejoice in unison, "Chloé didn't come!"
  • When Master Fu forbids Plagg and Wayzz from entering his lab to prevent them from learning any power-up recipes, Plagg tells Wayzz he's "gonna break [Fu's] pots."
  • Master Fu and Adrien comment on how Scarlet Lady is upset by Marigold's presence and being left out of the loop. After a Beat Panel, Master Fu shrugs it off with a dismissive "sucks for her" that Adrien wholeheartedly agrees with.
  • Chloé doesn't want to help fight the akuma flooding Paris because it would get her hair wet. Tikki points out that the water is rising to the level of her apartment.
Tikki: Looks like your hair's getting wet either way.
Chloé: NOOOOO! Not Seine water! Fish pee there!
  • Marinette and Adrien have a little more advance warning of the flood than Marinette did in canon, in which she only noticed water coming into the theater when her feet started getting wet. The two are able to slip away without Alya noticing; she turns to first one and then the other, only to find them both gone. The author jokes, "It's too late, Alya. The Seine has them now."
  • When Scarlet Lady shows up and berates Marigold and Chat Noir for being slow, they ignore her.
  • When Master Fu berates Chat for revealing the former's identity and location to Marigold, she initially sides with Fu but instantly changes her mind when Chat justifies it by saying she's his friend, with a caption arrow noting that "Love makes her stupid." Master Fu facepalms in frustration.
  • Needing an ingredient for the aqua power-up formula, Marigold comes up with the idea to contribute lame jokes, with Chat Noir quickly adding his own. They successfully make Master Fu laugh, which brings a "tear of joy" to his eyes.
  • When Scarlet Lady sees the powered-up Chat Noir and Marigold, she once again expresses annoyance about them keeping secrets from her and decides that if they aren't going to tell her everything, they should just fight the akuma without her. They tell her that they would actually do that if they could and force feed the potion to her. In the caption, the author jokes, "Don't worry about the weird taste, I'm sure that's nothing."
  • Kim doesn't recognize Syren as an akumatized Ondine until she references her failed confession, causing him to realize that he was the idiot she was telling him about.
  • When the three superheroes show up in their aqua forms to confront Syren, Hawkmoth is shown jealously pouting, complaining "Not fair."
  • Kim's Love Epiphany when Marigold checks on him is both sweet and hilarious. To quote the author, "Give him a break, each word had to hit individually."
  • Once Kim has calmed down and offered Ondine his sweatshirt so she won't be cold (remember, it's February, and dried off by the Miraculous Cure or not, Ondine's swimsuit is not suited for regular winter weather), Chat mischievously points out that he and Marigold can get them back to the pool faster than if Kim just carries Ondine himself. Kim IMMEDIATELY declines, hugging Ondine and planning on carrying the blushing girl the whole way, not wanting to share the responsibility.
  • When Scarlet Lady demands to know where the potion came from, Chat Noir and Marigold are depicted with little halos above their heads and innocent-looking faces. Then Chat Noir tells her it's none of her business—and warns her to leave before she loses the only secret she has (her Secret Identity).
  • Fu finishes dressing down Chat Noir for bringing Marigold to him and punishes Chat by making him bring down and reorganize the entirety of Fu's pantry of ingredients by himself. On the plus side, he agrees to train both Chat Noir and Marigold (just separately).
  • Marigold misunderstands when Master Fu says they can put the power-up formulas into forms that will suit their Kwamis. "But that means I'll be eating chili peppers!" she thinks. Later, Marinette bravely tries to eat a purple-tinted pepper, but Pollen stops her, clarifying, "You don't have to eat those for me, my Queen!"
  • Gabriel's dramatic declaration that he must track down the Guardian at all costs is undercut by his Imagine Spot of a sparkling, finned version of his villainous alter ego striking a pose in the background.

Dark Cupid: Tales of Kim the Romantic
  • Max derails Mme. Bustier's lesson about how kisses in fairytales break spells with The Power of Love by pointing out that the majority of those kisses aren't consensual, complete with giving their teacher some glorious side-eye over the subject matter. Bustier nervously deflects rather than getting into any of the conversations THAT could spark.
  • In a bit of a Mood Whiplash, Kagami's silent, smiling support of Ondine potentially getting a Relationship Upgrade with Kim is followed by the casual thought of "If he hurts her, I'll maim him."
  • When Marinette and Alya see the gift Kim is planning to give someone, Alya excitedly guesses it's for Ondine while Marinette says, darkly, "It had better be Ondine."
  • Chloé snatches the poem Adrien was working on right off his desk, then cluelessly informs him that he got his description of her wrong. When he tells her it isn't for her, she demands to know whom it's for. Adrien's too embarrassed to admit the poem is for Marinette, so he claims it's for Marigold, to the shock of everyone, including his crush.
    • Adrien lampshades how everyone, including Marinette, now thinks he's in love with the Bee heroine. He then admits it could've been worse; he might've said it was Scarlet Lady.
    • The poem he was working on was intended for Marinette, and he'd planned on giving it to her... as Chat Noir. It's as though he was trying to create a Two-Person Love Triangle
    • Marinette is embarrassed about Adrien's (apparent) crush on her superhero identity but notes it's flattering and brave to put himself out there. Pollen is just echoing her words in response all the while, almost like a Yes-Man. In contrast, Alya is outside the bathroom and seemingly hears her best friend talking to herself, saying Marinette has a funny way of handling "bad news."
    • Alya's utter bafflement that Nino, unlike her, has NOT made it a priority to pry into his bestie's love life and know all about his crushes.
  • Chloé's response to Adrien writing a love poem for someone else is to make a valentine for herself on his behalf. Tikki straight up tells her she's pathetic.
  • Despite being part of Adrien's fan club, Aurore finds Mireille hugging a poster of Adrien taped to a pillar to be a bit much. Mireille just shushes her, though.
  • Chloé brags to the girls ogling a poster of Adrien that she has one with his signature on it. To her chagrin, they immediately note that it's not his handwriting and deduce she forged it.
Suhayla: Hey, that's not Adrien's handwriting!
Aurore: We're his fanclub, who're you trying to fool?
Unknown Fangirl: Lying about that, that's so pathetic!
Chloé: [clutching her poster] How dare you?!
  • Alya trying to help Marinette confess her feelings to her crush. Thing is Marinette is talking about Chat Noir while Alya assumes it's Adrien. With the both of them eventually realizing they're talking about two different people (who, ironically, are the same person).
  • One of the couples Dark Cupid ends up attacking is Rose and Juleka, shooting the former. Rose being Rose, her hate-filled insults aren't really that effective.
Rose: I hate how tall and gorgeous you are! Makes me sick!
Juleka: Am I supposed to be insulted?
  • When Dark Cupid makes Alya insult Marinette, the latter says she'll ignore the insult because Alya looks good in black lipstick.
  • Both Chat Noir and Marigold both find Chloé's framed perfume ad poster of Adrien scary, viewing it as a Stalker Shrine of sorts. The author also points out how creepy it is:
Tags: #chloe over here getting a perfume ad poster of adrien framed and hung in her bathroom and you call marinette the crazy one
  • Imagining that Dark Cupid is jealous of her "signed" Adrien poster, Chloé pushes Marigold toward the akuma to protect it, causing Marigold to be hit by a hate arrow. In the end notes, the author jokes, "Ooh yay! Now you get to match Alya!" (referring to the "black lipstick" effect from the previous issue).
  • Marigold challenges Chat to a fight. When he refuses, she scoffs, "Ugh, your kindness and friendliness is insufferable." Chat lampshades the Insult Backfire: "Wow, you're really bad at being mean. Thank you?" The author compares her to Rose (who "insulted" Juleka by calling her tall and gorgeous).
  • Escaping from the hate-filled Marigold, Chloé runs into a potted plant display and faceplants on the ground, covered in dirt. Lila and Sabrina laugh and take pictures, and Sabrina plans to show the pictures to Alix. Chloé complains and wonders if they were hit by the akuma. "What akuma?" they say in unison. They both hate her without any need for an arrow from Dark Cupid, who rolls over in the air laughing.
  • Chat Noir is about to take on Marigold and Dark Cupid together. He remains confident he can take them despite being two on one. Then Scarlet Lady arrives...
    Scarlet Lady: I've arrived, sidekick!
Chat Noir: Well, there goes my odds.
    • It gets even funnier when he's proven wrong: Scarlet Lady is so pissed about the day's constant Humiliation Conga that she actually wants to fight Dark Cupid herself and attacks by simply throwing the Lucky Charm (a candy heart) at him. Even Chat Noir's surprised at her gusto.
    • After stunning Dark Cupid, Scarlet Lady (rather foolishly) note  rants about how her day's been going while Chat Noir is still fighting a brainwashed Marigold in the background.
Chat Noir: Scar, I'm glad you're actually pulling your weight for once. But now is not the time!
  • The Forced Kiss Chat Noir uses to break the hate spell on Marigold turns into The Big Damn Kiss between them, leading one to suspect that Marigold came to her senses rather quickly and took advantage of the opportunity (though later chapters show this is not the case—like Chat Noir in canon, she doesn't remember anything once the kiss is over). Meanwhile, Scarlet Lady and Dark Cupid are just watching the display with deadpan expressions.
Scarlet Lady: Do we need to come back at another time?
    Marigold: Ah! What—? Where?
  • Chat Noir throws the confused Marigold at Dark Cupid. This uses up her Venom, paralyzing the villain so she can grab his broach.
    Chat Noir: Good job, Goldie!
Marigold: [with a Sweat Drop] Yaaaay?
  • Chat finds himself in an awkward situation when he realizes Marigold doesn't remember anything after getting shot by Dark Cupid at the hotel. He can't explain in front of Scar, who puts things crudely. So he does a Privacy by Distraction and pushes them both away because their Miraculous are beeping.
  • Adrien explains his valentine to Marigold as not from a crush but from an appreciation of her as a hero of Paris. His male vanity is then hurt when Marigold is relieved to hear that, even though they barely know each other (except in their other identities).
  • Marigold explains to Adrien that she's glad about the above because there is already someone else in her heart and she didn't want to have to let him down. Adrien replies that he does, too, and both of them silently wonder who the other person is in each other's case.
    Narration: Idiots.
  • Adrien gets a Written Sound Effect of "Doki Doki" for his heart pounding after a friendly kiss from Marigold. He scolds himself with the literal words, saying "No 'doki doki'! You're in love with Marinette!"

Intermission: Tales of Marinette the Bee
  • Rose compliments Marinette on inviting Chloé to her sleepover. Marinette responds that it was nicer of Chloé to rip up the invitation so that they don't actually have to endure her presence.
  • Alya is not happy that Marinette invited Lila as well, something that Lila rather smugly rubs into her classmate's face.
  • The guys decide to take Adrien to an arcade... and win all the Marigold merch they can for him, wrongly thinking he has a crush on the superheroine.
  • Kagami starts panicking when Ondine insists on introducing her to Adrien's friends.
  • Adrien reassures Kim that he and Kagami are Just Friends. Kagami takes offense:
Kagami: [clutching his hands, wide-eyed] I thought we were good friends!
Adrien: [sparkling dramatically] You're absolutely right, I'm so sorry.
Nino: You guys are definitely giving the wrong impression.
  • Adrien finally tells his friends that he doesn't have a crush on Marigold. His friends immediately realize that the poem was meant for Marinette. Meanwhile, Kim is more concerned about what they're supposed to do with all the Marigold swag they've been getting for him.
  • When Adrien gets in the car to leave, he gives The Gorilla a Marigold figurine from the pile of Marigold merch his friends won him.
  • Gabriel states why he allowed Adrien to go out with his friends:
Gabriel: Bah, who knows what my son would do to retaliate if I denied him. He might wear crocs.
  • Gabriel is quietly appalled that his own son is a Marigold fan. Nathalie points out that it's better that he admire her rather than the incompetent Scarlet Lady, which he takes offense to.
  • Pollen, realizing how much she's being pampered, wonders with a confused expression, "Am I the Queen?"
  • When Rose talks about how she and Juleka got together, it turns out that the latter was extremely Oblivious to Love, to the point where she wasn't sure if Rose kissing her on the lips was as a friend or not.
  • When Luka delivers a pizza to the girls' sleepover, Lila asks about his age compared to Juleka's, but all he'll say is he's older, much to her confuision (and frustation).
  • Luka and Marinette start to stare at each other, which prompts his sister to throw a pillow at his face and say it's "time for dumb boys to get out."
  • Alix reveals that Lila and Sabrina are sportier than they look, showing off a photo of a wild-eyed Sabrina working off some rage at the skating rink while Lila cheers her on like an Obsessive Sports Fan.
  • Lila's response when Alya defends Scarlet Lady's work with expensive brands:
Alya: Well, she has an important job! She deserves royalties, right?
Lila: Ha! Royalties for what, sitting on her butt while being a glory hound?
  • When Alya tries to defend Scarlet Lady to Lila, she looks to Marinette for support... only for Marinette to bluntly state that Scarlet Lady is the worst, much to Alya's dismay, while Lila sticks her tongue out and Alix laughs. In the next panel, Alya is pulling at Marinette's cheeks.

Animan: Tales of Otis the Zookeeper
  • Just like in "Kung Food," all the chapter titles have puns, this time animal-themed: "Stay Pawsitive," "You Goat This," "Ready To Flamingle," "So Hippo-critical!," "You Are Unkoalafied!," "Toucan Play At That," "Oh Deer," "Unbearable," "Hogs And Kisses," "Giraffing Me Crazy," "Why You Always Lion," and "That's Just Cheetahing!"
  • Adrien asks Nino why he's ogling Marinette so much. Nino says he has a huge crush on her, which causes Adrien to pull a comical I Want My Beloved to Be Happy, biting down so hard his mouth starts to bleed. Nino quickly reassures his best friend that he was just teasing and is actually trying to set Adrien up with Marinette.
  • Adrien doesn't think he has enough time or energy to ask Marinette out because of his job (more as Chat Noir than as a model). He lets Nino persuade him to try.
Adrien: [with stars in his eyes] Can... can I really? Is it possible? Am I allowed?
Nino: Bro, it's just a date.
  • The role reversal of Adrien overthinking how he wants to approach the zoo trip with Marinette. It's adorably awkward and makes complete sense when one remembers Adrien's life before now. Luckily, Nino's there to keep Adrien grounded.
  • Chloé complains to Tikki about having to go the smelly zoo in disguise to mess up Adrien's date with Marinette:
Chloé: The sacrifices I make for love.
Tikki: You don't have to -
    Chloé: Sacrifices!
  • In a role reversal, Alya is blushing about going on a real date with Nino, and Marinette is teasing her gleefully. Later, Alya tries to warn Marinette not to do anything weird... with mixed results.
Marinette: Whaaat? We're just having a nice, no-pressure day out with the guys! [thinking with a Slasher Smile] And if me and Adrien accidentally leave you two alone halfway through, that's just a coincidence.
Alya: You have a terrible poker face.
    • The novelization calls that smile "Marinette's slasher movie special".
  • Chloé is spying from afar and decides that she needs to get closer. Tikki instead suggests she can hide in the bushes... where she can sit in shame.
  • Chloé's "brilliant, original" idea for sneaking closer: hiding behind a large newspaper with eyeholes cut out while sitting at a table. Meanwhile, someone (seemingly Master Fu) sitting right next to her is using the same exact tactic.
  • Otis threatens to have Marinette banned from the zoo after she suggests he feed his panther at the back of the enclosure, away from the eyes of the public. Alya's reply? "Dad. No."
  • Even Hawkmoth is surprised at the pettiness of Animan's reason for revenge:
Hawkmoth: Animan, I'm giving you the power to get revenge.
Animan: Excellent! How dare those kids disrespect my panther, thinking they can outrun her!
    Hawkmoth: ...Really?!
  • When Chloé crashes the group, Adrien tries to be as politely blunt as possible about how he knows that she wasn't at the zoo by "coincidence" like she claims. Chloé completely misses (or chooses to ignore) this, declaring she found him because of their "deep connection."
  • When the animals are let loose by Animan immediately after Chloé interrupts the date, the captions describe her as being "Like a heat seeking missile of awful."
  • For once, both Adrien and Marinette are angry at the akuma for personal reasons (ruining their respective plans) while Chloé's happy the akuma has officially ruined the pair's "date."
  • While Chat Noir and Scarlet Lady hold off the animals, Marigold sees an opening and throws Nino and Alya into the panther's empty cage and cheekily tells them to stay safe with a little heart floating above her.
    • Alya has a Freak Out because she can't get footage for her Ladyblog.
    • When Nino gives Alya his headphones and tells her to breath... Alya replies that she can't hear him.
  • Scar, Chat, and Marigold see Animan attempting to eat Kim. The heroes, including Scar, are for once united in silent disbelief that the villain is that angry about Kim's boasting.
  • After Animan runs to find Kim, Chat Noir tells the others that he's tagged Kim to find him. Marigold rewards him with tickling that makes him purr while Scar makes a disgusted face.
  • They find Kim at the Dupain-Cheng bakery, where Marigold almost blows her cover, but the best comes right below:
    Sabine: Oh, but you're-!
Scarlet Lady: Ohoho! Yes, it is I, your hero-
    Sabine: Marigold!
Chat Noir: [struggling not to laugh] Pft!
Sabine: It's so nice to meet you!
    Marigold: A-ah, thanks!
Scarlet Lady: [furious she's being ignored] Grr!
  • When Chat is on top of T-Rex Animan, he yells for someone to get his legs. Scarlet Lady says, "Don't tell me what to do!" and uselessly bounces her yo-yo off the creature. Marigold lassos the legs with her top and then one-shots the dinosaur in the head with Venom.
  • As Chloé crows to herself about doing a good job of ruining Adrien's date with Marinette (nevermind it would've been ruined either way by the akuma), Tikki decides to throw out her hairspray the moment she falls asleep.
  • When Adrien and Marinette see Alya and Nino holding hands, they simultaneously sparkle while pointing at said hands and saying, "Ooooh!"
Alya: Told you they'd make it weird.
    • Then when Adrien asks how it happened, one of them (presumably Alya) relates how Marigold locked them up together—all while Marinette giggles.
    • The ending:
Nino: Turns out we have a lot in common: an interest in video editing...
      Alya: Really young siblings...
Alya and Nino: Best friends that ditch them.
      Adrien & Marinette: Eheheh!
  • Adrien takes Nino aside.
    Adrien: Hey man, congrats!
    Nino: Thanks, dude!
Adrien: [with a Nightmare Face] Pretty amazing you got a girlfriend when you're supposed to be wingmanning for me.
    Nino: M-my bad.
  • Alya has a conversation with Marinette about the latter's actions at the zoo:
Alya: Girl, I told you not to be weird, but you totally tried to dip on purpose.
Marinette: Whaaat? I just wanted to see the elephants!
    Alya: It was giraffes.
  • Otis is apologetic to Alya for getting akumatized and ruining her day at the zoo, but he finds he is Easily Forgiven. She kisses his cheek and walks off humming because she got a boyfriend out of it.

Puppeteer: Tales of Manon the Doll Master
  • Marinette is taking care of Manon, and they are playing with the Miraculous dolls the former made. After Manon picks Marigold and Chat Noir as the heroes, Marinette points out that she never picks Scarlet Lady—and Manon shows that the Scarlet Lady doll is little more than a painted paper bag with a ponytail glued to it.
Manon: But her doll is so lame.
Marinette: [thinking with an evil grin] Just like the real thing!
  • Marinette can't explain to Manon why Hawkmoth wants the Miraculous and just says, "Uh, because then the bad guys... would win!" Manon doesn't see what is so bad about that and demands the Miraculous so her side can win. Marinette thinks, "You're a little too gung-ho about it!"
  • When Nadja returns to get Manon back:
Nadja: Have you been good, Manon?
Manon: Mommy, Marinette didn't let me win!
    Marinette: [thinking] Snitch!
  • Manon asks if she can keep the Marigold doll (which she accidentally ripped earlier), but Marinette tells her she has to fix the doll. When Manon pulls out the Puppy-Dog Eyes, though, Marinette relents to letting her have the Lady Wifi doll. As Manon leaves, Pollen just looks at Marinette while the latter lets out a Defensive "What?".
Caption: Now I know your weakness, My Queen.
  • When Chloé starts bragging about how hilarious it'll be to see her classmates work at the hotel, Tikki punctures her ego by smugly telling her she has to go buy more Dupain-Cheng cookies.
  • The bonus panel where Manon gets akumatized:
    Hawkmoth: Puppeteer, I am Hawkmoth.
Manon: Oo, then, you're giving me powers?
    Hawkmoth: Why, yes!
Manon: And I just gotta get you the Miraculouses?
Hawkmoth: Exactly! Geez, why can't all my akumas be this informed?
  • Adrien's Clark Kenting is immediately seen through by Marinette and Alya, who innocently make teasing, flirty winks at him (much to his embarrassment). He at first mistook them for his more rabid fans, but Alya insists that they're only his "best fans."
  • Puppeteer and Hawkmoth's back and forth pretty much sounds like a little girl and her Imaginary Friend that she thinks everyone else can hear:
Puppeteer: Mommy took my doll, so it's probably in the studio.
    Hawkmoth: Excellent deduction, Puppeteer.
Puppeteer: Shh, M. Hawkmoth, Mommy can't catch us.
    Hawkmoth: And why is that?
Puppeteer: Cuz Mommy will get mad and I'll get in trouble!
Hawkmoth: You know you're an akuma, right?
    • The author's notes continue it with Manon's obvious retort: "Yeah, and she's still MOM! (It's not worth it!)"
  • Puppeteer continues her temper tantrum over wanting the dolls through Lady Wifi. Once Marinette figures out it's Manon is the one akumatized, what does she do? Threaten to tell Nadja. While she does this, she fails to notice Adrien sneaking off to turn into Chat Noir.
  • Puppeteer sends Lady Wifi to Marinette's room to get the other dolls, which Chloé and Tikki both witness. Unlike usual, Chloé doesn't need much encouragement to leap into action (she thinks that Lady Wifi is trying to prove Marinette is Scarlet Lady again, which is one of Chloé's Berserk Buttons)... though she still insists on finding the right spot to transform first.
Chloé: You don't expect me to hide behind trees or go into a dirty subway, do you?!
  • Chat Noir follows Puppeteer into Marinette's room. While Pollen encourages Marinette to transform, Marinette freaks out because Chat Noir is going into her room—and the caption implies she's got something similar to her canon collage of Adrien photos there, which is later comfirmed in "Troublemaker."
  • Scar enters Marinette's room to fight the Puppeteer-controlled Lady Wifi and then notices the Scarlet Lady "doll":
Scarlet Lady: What is this?! Is this supposed to be me?!
Chat Noir: It's a spitting image.
  • Puppeteer's reaction to Scar ripping the Scarlet Lady "doll":
Puppeteer: No faaaair! That's cheating! Gimme your Miraculouses you bunch of super evil goodie two shoeses!
  • After Chat Noir recovers his doll, Lady Wifi leaves... and Puppeteer makes her cry and say she'll be telling on the heroes.
  • The mentioned names of the dolls are Chaton Noir for Chat Noir, Minigold for Marigold, and Small Lady for Scarlet Lady.
  • Since Marigold has to stay out of the fight due to Manon having her doll (requiring her to detransform to avoid getting mind-controlled), Adrien tells her not to worry because he can bring in a substitute. Who does he choose? Marinette.
    • How he appears is also hilarious. Marinette is wondering whom Chat Noir will pick as substitute. Cue him jumping onto her balcony, scaring the crap out of her.
    • In the meantime, Pollen is giving a jealous glare while hiding in a rose shrub.
  • Puppeteer is having much less fun than in canon. When she tries to bring her Marigold doll to life, it just slumps over. She throws her arms around Lady Wifi's waist, crying, "Waaah! It didn't work, meanies, meanies!"
    • Likewise, when Marinette shows up as Multimouse along with Scar and Chat Noir. Puppeteer doesn't take this well:
Puppeteer: WHAAA! NO FAIR YOU DON'T HAVE A DOLL! HAWKMOTH! THEY WON'T LET ME WIN!
Hawkmoth: [telepathically and awkwardly] There, there.
    • All the while, Scar, Multimouse, Rogercop, and Evillustrator just stand there, not really sure how to react to all that.
  • There are some Writing Around Trademarks jokes as Marinette talks about her Mouse hero name. Chat suggests "Minimouse," only for Marinette to reply that she's pretty sure that's trademarked. Later, she calls herself the "Mighty Multimouse," to which Chat Noir remarks, "Pretty sure that's also trademarked."
  • Scarlet Lady finally activates her Lucky Charm when Puppeteer calls her and the other heroes "super evil not pretty goodie two shoeses."
Scarlet Lady: I'll show you who's "not pretty," brat!
Caption: Scarlet Lady finally met someone who matches her in emotional maturity.
  • Chat Noir is smitten by Marinette using Scar's Lucky charm to deflect projectiles heading her way as he's fending off Lady Wifi.
  • As the Multimice are grabbing the dolls, the captions reveal that "the controlled akumas are just flopping on the ground."
  • Marinette defeats Puppeteer by having one of her smaller clones simply bite the akuma's hand to make Puppeteer let go of her wand.
  • Once Puppeteer's defeated, Marinette "accidentally" takes off the Mouse Miraculous and feigns disappointment she can't be a superhero anymore since people know her identity. Mullo smiles cheekily at the whole act while Chat Noir just pouts as tears stream down his face.
  • Manon pinkie promises not to tell anyone about Marinette formerly being Multimouse and gets the others to do the same, much to Marinette's embarrassment. Scar, to her annoyance, is also included among the group.
  • Alya asks Marinette for an interview. Marinette agrees as long as it's solely about Puppeteer and Multimouse showing up, not her being Multimouse.
  • There's lots of Kwami jealousy. Pollen is jealous of Mullo (not helped by the face Mullo makes to Pollen after Mullo compliments Marinette on her use of the Kwami's power and Marinette hugging Mullo in response) and tries to give Marinette the cold shoulder when the latter returns. Marinette angers Pollen even more when she teases the Kwami about being jealous, though she's quickly forgiven when she reassures Pollen that she will always be her favorite Kwami. Meanwhile, Tikki sobs when she learns that her chosen has been granted three different Kwamis (Plagg, Pollen, and Mullo) now while she is still stuck with Chloé. The author captions it "Kwami Soap Opera."
  • Marinette apologizes to Nadja for lending Manon a doll after Nadja said no. Nadja reassures the teen that she'll be immune to Manon's Puppy-Dog Eyes eventually. Marinette is then put to the test the next day when she offers to let Manon help her make a secret custom doll of Multimouse. Manon uses her eyes again to try to get permission to take the doll to the zoo (thus defeating the whole point of it being a secret), and Marinette will have to refuse or risk her family's safety. In the tags, the author laments, "#you learned nothing manon!"

Pixelator: Tales of Vincent the Super Fan
  • Adrien learns that Chloé has assigned him to work at the front desk of the hotel with her. He asks Alya to trade jobs with him, and she turns him down with a finger-gun gesture, declaring, "Not on your life." A few seconds later, she finds out that Chloé assigned her garbage-sorting duty at the dumpster. She asks Adrien for a trade, only for him to turn her down with the exact gesture and words she used on him.

  • Jagged Stone checks in to Chloé's father's hotel—and neither he nor Mayor Bourgeois remembers the other:
Chloé: Daddy, that's Jagged Stone, remember?
André Bourgeois: Honey, I only remember the important people.
Chloé: He's an internationally beloved rock star!
Jagged Stone: Penny, who is this idiot?
Penny Rolling: The mayor? Bob's friend? You judged a cooking show together?
Jagged Stone: Bob's friend? No wonder I erased him from my memory.
  • Mayor Bourgeois makes a cavalcade of mistakes as he tries to schmooze with Jagged, forcing Adrien to play damage control:
Jagged Stone: I need a room with a real tub for Fang!
André Bourgeois: We have all Mme. Fang needs! Even a top of the line fitness center.
Adrien: M. Bourgeois, Fang is his crocodile.
    Jagged Stone: Exactly!
André Bourgeois: Ah, I-I see! M. Stone, could I offer your... er, Fang... a nice bubble bath?
Adrien: Sir, reptiles absorb water through their skin, you can't use soaps!
Jagged Stone: Can this kid check me in instead of you?
Caption: He seems more knowledgeable than you!
  • Pixelator proclaims that Jagged Stone will be his and his alone, which creeps out Hawkmoth:
Hawkmoth: Um, sure. [aside] And people wonder why I kept my son home for so long.
Tags: #maybe instead of judging everyone you should just NOT akumatize literal criminals.
  • Penny requests a special pair of shades for Jagged Stone's concert—and M. Bourgeois volunteers Marinette, their "chasseur." Penny sweatdrops while wondering if everyone working at the hotel is a teenager as Marinette gives an "Oh, Crap!" Smile.
  • Marinette's description of her work for Jagged, as well as Pollen's response:
Marinette: Time to make some tacky glasses for a tacky man!
    Pollen: Yay, tacky!
Caption: Tacky isn't an insult here, it's just a fact.
  • Chloé reveals that she had her father name Marinette as the hotel's "chasseur" for a reason:
Adrien: Why did you give her that job?
Chloé: To get her out of the hotel, of course! So she can't ruin our alone time.
    Adrien: Huh?
Chloé: [attempts to kiss Adrien, who tries to push her away—while Kim and the doorman get zapped by Pixelator behind them]
Adrien: We're just doing our jobs, Chloé! Or at least I am!
Caption: I feel like you two are missing something kinda important in the background there!
  • Chloé is so dumb that she doesn't realize Pixelator is an akuma. When Pixelator zaps her, Adrien attempts to tackle her out of the way, only to get zapped as well. They both get stuck in a void... and Adrien mentally begs for Marigold to hurry up and rescue them because Chloé is taking advantage of it to cuddle with him.
    • Meanwhile, Marinette has just left Jagged Stone's room, only for Pixelator to show up and zap Penny, leaving Marinette and Pollen with an epic-level sweating Oh, Crap! face.
  • Jagged attempts to set Fang on Pixelator. Fang just rolls over as Jagged just sweatdrops.
  • Pixelator makes a bad pun as he zaps Fang. Marigold's got something to say about it:
    Pixelator: See you later, alligator!
    Jagged Stone: Fang, no!
Marigold: He's a crocodile, you fake fan!
    Pixelator: "Fake?!"
  • Marigold gets hit in the hand by Pixelator and begins screaming as she kicks Jagged's luggage at the akuma and swings the rock star outside the window. Jagged makes a lame "Ahhh?" in reply.
Caption: When your panic brain takes over and you do everything in autopilot to get the hell out (crossed out) even though you could've grabbed the akuma when you knocked a whole bunch of luggage on top of them.
  • In the first bonus panel, Marigold takes Jagged to the first place she could think: Collège François Dupont.
    M. Damocles: Is this really the safest place for M. Stone?
    Jagged Stone: [muttering] Lame.
Marigold: It's the lamest place I could think of to hide him.
    M. Damocles: [Cross-Popping Veins] Hmm?
Marigold: Uh I mean! Uhhh, I'm gonna go check this guy's place, stay safe!
  • Hawkmoth and Pixelator discuss the need to bring out the heroes (not knowing that the latter's already captured Scarlet Lady and Chat Noir).
Caption: They’re having a contest on who can be the most creepy.
  • An imprisoned Chloé tries to make demands of Marigold, who decides to ignore her in favor of asking two of Pixelator's other victims how they were caught (while Adrien is begging to be saved).
    Chloé: She ignored me?!
  • When Mireille and Théo say they were walking down the Champs-Élyées (sic) and Pixelator took a picture of them, Marigold asks what they were doing "on the Champs-Élyées on a school day."
  • When Nadja shows up to interview Pixelator, a banner appears on the television reading "Yep we're doing this again."
  • Pixelator challenges Jagged Stone to come out if he doesn't want him to zap all of Paris. Jagged Stone declares he must go—because his ratings will be amazing. M. Damocles is not impressed.
  • Marigold shows up, with people cheering on her... until someone asks where Scarlet Lady is, which prompts everyone to ask for her.
Marigold: [angry] It's a mystery to me as well.
  • When Chat Noir is about to sneak up on Pixelator and destroy his akumatized visor, Scarlet Lady jumps up and shouts "Hurry up and grab the akuma, Alley Cat!"
  • Jagged Stone shows up to let Pixelator take a photo of him... but wastes time by switching between multiple poses in different places, keeping the akuma distracted while Marigold and Scar save the day.
  • Scarlet Lady demonstrates Accidental Aiming Skills when she throws the Lucky Charm compact at Pixelator at just at the right moment to reflect his capturing camera beam back at him. (To be fair, it was probably only the luck of the Lucky Charm that made the throw work even for Ladybug in canon.)
Marigold: Hey, I think your aim is getting better!
Scarlet Lady: I was aiming for his head.
  • Penny begins to give tickets for the Jagged Stone concert to the teens that did the best during the internship, and Chloé is seen keeping her hand extended, clearly expecting one... only for Penny to explicitly skip Chloé and give the last ticket to Adrien. Chloé's irritated face is hilarious.
  • Adrien feels bad because he missed half the day due to Pixelator and tries to give it to someone else, but the rest of the class either already has plans or already bought their own tickets. Chloé tries to ask for it, but Adrien just shuts her up by covering her face with his hand.
  • During the concert, we're given a reminder of Adrien and Luka's rivalry:
    Marinette: Isn't this amazing, guys?!
Adrien and Luka: [blushing as they look at Marinette] Yeah... amazing.
    Adrien: [jealously glares at Luka]
Luka: [gives a slightly strained grin to Adrien]
  • Jagged thanks Marigold for saving him. Alya then glances at Marinette and questions why she's blushing.
Caption: I'm just happy she's getting recognition? Heheh?

Guitar Villain: Tales of Jagged Stone the Rock Star
  • Bob Roth tells Jagged Stone (who is still wearing the Eiffel Tower glasses Marinette made) that he wants him to have a duet with XY. Bob's response when Penny points out that Jagged's style is wildly different from XY's?
Bob Roth: Oh, it'll be fine after you modernize your music, find a new style and change everything about yourself.
    Jagged Stone: F@$# off.
  • When Penny states that she and Jagged want to commission Marinette to make Jagged's cover art, Bob Roth is aghast. A growl from Fang makes him change his opinion.
  • After learning that Chloé wants to invite him to something, Adrien actually asks to practice his Chinese instead. Unfortunately, Gabriel already accepted for him.
    Adrien: [thinking] Dammit père.
  • After Bob Roth commissions Marinette to make an incredibly drab cover design, she laments that this isn't her or Jagged's style at all. She mentions to Pollen that sometimes her parents make a sample of a bad request to show the customer why it's bad, but this doesn't always work.
Marinette: Sometimes it makes them like it more!
  • When Luka delivers Chloé's pizza, he avoids having to greet her face to face by handing it off to the front desk instead. He then runs into Marinette, learns she's going to meet with Jagged Stone, and offers her a ride home afterwards. The moment she turns to leave, he scrambles to take off his pizza delivery shirt, thinking, "Gotta get out of this lame uniform, quick!" A bonus panel shows Marinette sneaking a peek at him while he's changing, with the caption reading, "I don't have a caption for this because Photoshop crashed like FIFTEEN TIMES when I tried to draw it!"
  • Luka is waiting for Marinette to return... only for the elevator ping to reveal Chloé, who promptly sticks like a limpet to him while calling him "mon Chouka," much to his disgust. He then puts on an Oh, Crap! face when he realizes she has a crush on him just as Adrien appears and she calls him "Adrichou."
  • XY's interview in which he insults Jagged turns out to be right outside the hotel, leading to Jagged throwing his tablet at the younger singer's head.
  • When Marinette arrives in the hotel lobby, Adrien greets her with a smile while Luka begs her to save him from Chloé.
  • As XY is being beaned in the head with a tablet, one of the men standing behind the singer nervously stare to the right and notices the butterfly.
  • Seeing Guitar Villain, Marinette exclaims how he seemed fine just a minute ago.
  • Chloé screams for Luka and Adrien to get her out of the room where Guitar Villain is when the akuma starts attacking; they comply by shoving her into the elevator while sporting matching nonchalant expressions.
  • Marinette sends Adrien away to flag down Chat Noir and tells Luka she'll find Marigold so she can run off and transform. Unfortunately for her, Luka decides to help her by giving her a ride on his bike.
Luka: C'mon, we'll cover more ground on my bike!
Marinette: [thinking] Wait, that's not part of the plan!
    • The comment under continuing the conversation is pretty good too.
      Marinette: Shouldn't we split up-
Luka: And become a Horror Movie Trope? Best we stick together
  • Chat Noir tells both Luka and Marinette to get to safety, not noticing Marinette's Overly-Nervous Flop Sweat. He then does some Oblivious Guilt Slinging when he notes that Marigold isn't picking up.
  • Scarlet Lady saves Théo, and he thanks Chat Noir for it.
Caption: The one time Scarlet did something and she didn't even get credit lol.
  • Marinette rushes to transform as soon as Luka is gone.
    Marinette: Pollen, omigod, Buzz On!
    Pollen: Buzz On, yay!
  • XY has trouble remembering whom Scarlet Lady is and refers to her as "the bug lady."
  • Scarlet Lady is an XY fan and offers to take him to a "safe place," but she's useless when Guitar Villain carries him off.
Scarlet Lady: H-hurry up, sidekicks! XY is going to fall!
Chat Noir: D-did you forget the dragon guarding the tower?
Scarlet Lady: So deal with him too!
Chat Noir: And what does that leave for you?
Caption: [answering for Scar] "It leaves me to suck up to XY, obviously."
  • When Marigold arrives on Dragon!Fang, Chat Noir joins her near the head... while leaving Scar to hang onto the tail.
  • Marigold gives XY a rough rescue by lassoing him with her top string, bouncing him on his bottom, and breaking the guitar on the gangplank as she pulls him to safety. The author notes, "XY's got a steel butt I guess."
  • Scar tries to comfort XY, but he finds her to be an Abhorrent Admirer.
Scarlet Lady: Oh, my poor XY! I'm so sorry for how my lackies treated you! I'll make it up to you, I promise!
XY: [looking between her and Jagged Stone] Huh? This dude's crazy! You're crazy! I'm going home!
Scarlet Lady: Oh! I can take you down!
XY: I'm taking the elevator you freak!
  • While Marigold freaks out about all the stuff she still has to do and having to figure out an excuse for Luka if he asks what she was doing, Chat asks the deakumatized Jagged for an autograph, which the rocker obliges.
  • After Jagged gets Bob to reluctantly approve of Marinette's design by threatening to quit, she wonders why the rockstar didn't just do that in the first place.
  • When Chloé tries to Glomp Luka while complaining about her day, Luka just keeps her away with a hand to her face while snarking with Juleka.
    Juleka: "Mon Chouka?"
    Luka: Don't you f**king dare.

Princess Fragrance: Tales of Rose the Princess
  • The repetitiveness of the title and subtitle together is quite amusing.
  • The news report at the beginning is about how Scarlet Lady, Chat Noir, and Marigold defeated Zoe Rapporte as the Enchanted Florist, who has apparently been akumatized enough times for it to be referred to as her "Nth" time.
    • The news captions also say, "Top 10 therapists in Paris," and "Seriously there's other florists."
    • Zoe angrily interrupts the broadcast:
Zoe: [Flipping the Bird] Well maybe if people were a little less shi-
      Offscreen voice: Cut!
  • Marinette offers a preposterous excuse for being late to class. Chloé mocks her for it, but the teacher isn't letting her false excuse pass either. (Both were actually fighting an akuma.)
Marinette: I, uh, had to bring my... dog! To the vet! He... ate all of my socks!
Chloé: Maybe if you were early, you could fully bake your excuses, Clumsinette! And you wouldn't look like a drowned rat!
Ms. Mendeleiev: You were also late!
  • Chloé tries to mock Rose by saying her perfume smells like a dead fish. Sabrina "kindly" reminds her that she has the same perfume.
  • Rose catches Chloé apparently talking to her bag (actually to Tikki). When Chloé declares she wasn't talking to Rose, the latter asks if she was talking to her bag because she has no friends.
  • Marinette sees Tikki with Chloé... and assumes the latter stole Scarlet Lady's Kwami. Pollen is noticeably disappointed that her holder failed to connect the dots and figure out Scarlet Lady's secret identity.
Marinette: Pollen, Chloé has Scarlet Lady's Kwami!
    Pollen: [excited] Oh my!
Marinette: She probably stole her! Cuz she's a thief and Scarlet is careless!
Pollen: [with Sweat Drop] Oh my.
    Narration: Oof so close.
Caption: Missing that last brain cell.
Tags: #she definitely stole *something* marinette!
    • There's some irony in the fact that Pollen knows Chloé is Scarlet Lady but doesn't tell Marinette the truth because Tikki told her not to reveal the identities of the Miraculous users. Tikki might be regretting that now...
    • Pollen can also be seen combing Marinette's pigtails the entire time.
  • In the bonus panel, as Rose is akumatized, Hawkmoth offers to make her perfume so powerful, she could probably Take Over the World with it if she wanted to. Rose, being Rose, is a little bit more practical than that.
Rose: I mostly just want my prince, to be honest. ... But we can torment Chloé a little.
Caption: You know, as a treat ♥
  • Princess Fragrance uses her perfume to make the doorman let her in. After she enters, proudly declaring to Prince Ali that she's coming for him, she turns her attention back to the doorman to ask for directions to Prince Ali.
  • Chloé offers a Scarlet Lady figure (which she picked from her shelf), Adrien brings some Chat Noir plushies, and Kagami says her family brought a truckload of Marigold merch. Prince Ali doesn't know who "these characters" are.
  • When Princess Fragrance makes Chloé stink, Pollen giggles and Marinette says, "This might be my favorite akuma."
  • Everyone assumes Adrien fell victim to the mind-control perfume when he disappears. Meanwhile, Chat Noir comes out from his hiding place where he transformed to find that everyone has left, wondering, "Where is everyone?"
  • Because Marinette invoked "Buzz On" while wearing a motorcycle helmet, Marigold ends up wearing one. It appears to have bee-themed colors matching her costume.
  • When Prince Ali first sees Marigold, he's surprised that she's real.
  • Chloé gets excluded from the escape car.
Kagami: She's not after you and you'll stink up the car.
Chloé: [accidentally flinging Tikki into the car] Let me in! Who do you think you are?!
Kagami: Go hide in a bush.
Chat Noir: Chloé. Wait for Marigold, or your BFF, Scarlet Lady.
Chloé and Princess Fragrance: [in unison] How dare yoooou!
  • After Master Fu heals Tikki, Pollen insists that she get a goodbye hug from Marinette before leaving. Tikki cries tears of joy as she embraces her should-have-been holder... and then sees Pollen with a Death Glare, telling Tikki that she's the only one with whom Pollen will share Marinette, who is off limits to the other Kwamis, especially Mullo. Marinette, meanwhile, is completely oblivious to all this happening right over her shoulder.
  • When Marigold confronts Princess Fragrance, she points out (or at least attempts to point out) a minor flaw in the akuma's plan:
Marigold: Rose, did you forget you have a girlfriend?!
Princess Fragrance: I have two hands, busy body!
    • And, indeed, at the end of the episode, Rose has Ali in one hand and Juleka in the other.
  • When Princess Fragrance sends her servants after Marigold, the latter snarks she's more afraid of Kagami than Chat Noir.
  • Hawkmoth is worried when Princess Fragrance says she'll enchant all of Paris.
Hawkmoth: Wait, not me though, right?
    Princess Fragrance: All of Paris!
  • After returning Rose to normal, Scarlet Lady starts to brag and introduce herself, but Marigold sees that she's about to transform back and takes none of the Ladybug heroine's usual crap, interrupting her by pulling her by the ear and dragging her away, to both Rose and Ali's confusement.
Prince Ali: [sweatdropping] Are your heroes usually this... eccentric?
    Rose: [also sweatdropping] Um...
  • Chloé tells Prince Ali that Rose has a girlfriend, hoping it'll make him ditch her. Instead, Prince Ali says he'd love to meet Rose's girlfriend, and Rose replies that her girlfriend would love to meet him.
