- Acting for Two:
- Melanie Minichino (the voice of Ava) and Megan Hilty (the voice of KC) voice many of the mother characters that show up.
- Eric Bauza (the voice of Mr. Woodbird), Parvesh Cheena (the voice of Bodhi), and Henri Lubatti (the voice of JP) voice many of the father characters that show up.
- Adored by the Network: The show was renewed for season 2 before premiering and also had a merchandise line released before the show even began airing. History repeated again with a season 3 renewal before season 2 came out.
- Amateur Cast: Most of the child actors voicing the babies had never acted prior to the show. Averted, however, with the adult cast members.
- Breaking News Interruption: On June 2, 2020, an encore of the episode "Lost Lovey; Diggity Dog" was delayed about 10 minutes from its scheduled airtime in favor of showing an 8 minute and 46 second loop of a promotional interstitial celebrating African-American rights in wake of the murder of George Floyd.
- Casting Gag:
- Vanessa Williams voices Captain Beakman, another instance of her voicing an authority figure in charge of a facility that delivers babies to their families.
- Parvesh Cheena voices Bodhi the Big Stork, who's established as a nice guy who's somewhat of a scaredy cat in a special facility that helps others, much like his other role as Blades.
- This isn't the only time Fred Tatasciore voiced Santa.
- Misty Lee voices Donny's mothers, and it's not the only time she's voiced a caring, parental figure similar to Aunt May.
- This isn't the first time Jack McBrayer voiced a hedgehog.
- The Great Who Who Dini is a magician voiced by Penn Jillette, who's also a magician.
- Belly Billy, a surfer dude penguin, is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, which isn't the only he's voiced a surfer dude type character.
- Channel Hop: Starting with "The Brightest Baby/Captain For A Day" new episodes will air on the Disney Junior channel.
- Children Voicing Children: Pip and Freddy are both voiced by child actors, as are many of the babies.
- Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: This description for the song One In A Million says how Mimi is a boy even though she's a girl.
- Crossdressing Voices: Lucky, who is male, is voiced by Allesandra Perez, a female.
- In the Japanese dub, both Pip and Freddy are voiced by women.
- Dub Name Change: In Portugal, the show is called TOPS (Transporte Oficial De Pequenotes).
- Dueling Works: With Top Wing, another cartoon about birds helping others in some way.
- Fake Nationality: Seattle-born Henri Lubatti voices French-accented JP. Likewise, Tom Kenny voices his brother PJ.

- The Other Darrin: Tucker Chandler replaces Jet Jurgensmeyer as Pip in Season 3 due to the latter hitting puberty and starting a country music career.
- Out of Holiday Episode: Season 3's Christmas Episode premiered on June 3. Usually averted, since most of the holiday episodes premiered during their respective seasons.
- Playing Against Type: This series is the first voiceover credit for Henri Lubatti, as all of his previous credits were live-action roles.
- Real-Life Relative:
- The episode "Mid Air Care/Itsy Bitsy Baby" has Lily's parents, as well as Calvin's parents, voiced by Tom Kenny and Jill Talley, who are married in real life.
- Quinn Minichino Eakins, who voices various baby animals in Season 2, is the daughter of Melanie Minichino who voices Ava.
- Release Date Change: "Bringing This Family Home/Flight Of The Penguin" was originally going to air on April 17, 2020, but was then moved to July 10.
- The Resolution Will Not Be Identified: The final episode of the show "Baby Fliers/TOTS: the Musical" plays out like a normal episode, with the former segment being a Whole Episode Flashback about when JP delivered Pip and Freddy as babies, and the latter segment focusing on one of Mr. Woodbird's intentions causing almost all of the titular facility to break out in song.
- Screwed by the Network: The show fell prey to this in late Season 2, with only new episodes airing on the Disney Junior block and the show airing once a day on the 24/7 subchannel.
- Short Run in Peru: The episode Bringing This Family Home/Flight Of The Penguin was put onto Disney+ in Australia on June 19, 2020, while its US airdate is July 10.

- So My Kids Can Watch: Megan Hilty jumped at the chance to work on this series because of her then-4 year old daughter Viola.
- Uncredited Role: Occasionally, some roles go uncredited. Most notably in "Hiccup Hazard/The Great Robot Race", Eric Bauza is credited for Mr. Woodbird in the former, but he's not credited for Professor Peacock and Storkbot in the latter.
- Voices in One Room: Played with. According to Chris Gilligan, this isn't always the case, particularly with Vanessa Williams being largely in New York. The two leads do still record together, but not as often.
- What Could Have Been: Victor Cook revealed some bits of information in this interview, particularly in how the show was originally envisioned as a TV movie, and how Pip and Freddy were initially a little older.
