Pinging ~The Mayor of Simpleton
If we cannot find some ideal candidates for disambiguation, I won't object to a cut.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThanks for pinging.
I stand by my cut/disambig vote.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallAssuming a rename wouldn't help (to me the misuse and to a lesser extent the zero-context examples seem to be due to its name if I'm correct), I'm leaning on supporting a cut; if there are any options to list on disambiguation pages, I don't know of them.
The only disambig item I can think of is Beary Friendly.
There's also Ridiculously Cute Critter.

Macron's notesCut. Given that people were mostly using this for "pandas exist" which isn't tropeworthy itself, I don't think a disambig would be all that helpful.
Cut. I don't think a disambig would be helpful here considering the trope was about a specific species of animal.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Cut. 6,901 inbounds since 2012 for a page made a year before that isn't that high.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Cut due to the low inbound count and "chairsy" nature.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupAgreed with the first option.
Yard the frist
for the first option
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
Attaching a crowner, since it's been three days.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI'm for cutting but Adorable Pandas feels narratively lacking to me. I could see it quickly turning into "is a panda" like it is currently.
Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker MailSince this is being Yarded instead of being retooled by TRS, ideally, TLP would sort out whether it's tropeworthy or not if someone makes a draft.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Alright, this one has now hit three days. Time to get out the scissors, yeah?
Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker MailTime to call in favor of cut and yard.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportRedirects handled. Here's the wick list.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportIn the process of dewicking , I found maybe a few examples
Like this one from Characters.Hetalia Axis Powers East Asia
- Pandaing To The Audience: Hong Kong loves pandas just as much as China does.
- This is implied in one of his image songs, "Maji Kandou☆Hong Kong Night":
The panda is always on my side (rest assured)
- And it's made more explicit in his other image song, "Hoi Sam☆Nice Guy":
Super
They're so adorable it hurts, the perfect balance of black and white
Pandas that bring you happiness… we sell them, sort of
So fluffy and cute, such big round eyes
The kinda? Make you Happy! Uh-huh
- This is implied in one of his image songs, "Maji Kandou☆Hong Kong Night":
Should I make a sandbox for the Yard to keep some of the potential Adorable Pandas idea?
Edit: OK

Art Museum Curator and frequent helper of the Web Original deprecation projectGo ahead. It's being yarded so anyone's free to store salvageable examples in a sandbox.
Macron's notes
Crown Description:
The trope, meant for pandas being adorable, frequently attracts "pandas exist" misuse. What should be done with it?
OP written by The Mayor of Simpleton
Courtesy link to the original TLP.
The problem: Pandaing To The Audience is supposed to be about pandas being cute or adorable. Per the description:
Apart from their striking black and white fur, the black spots around their eyes gives them an appealing sleepy look that seems to match their adorably clumsy behavior. Furthermore considering that they are often seen lounging about, peacefully eating plants instead of hunting, it makes them seem so innocent. In addition, they are one of the few animals who have a protruding bone in each paw that acts as an opposable thumb to grasp objects, giving their eating habits an appealingly human-like appearance. Keep in mind that eating bamboo requires a large amount of chewing. That round adorable face houses some powerful jaw muscles.
The description later jokes that this trope "could have been named Everything's Better With Pandas". For anyone who knows about what happened to those tropes, this sentence should be a clue as to the problem here. I indeed noticed that a large portion of on-page examples were just "pandas exist" (like other Everything's Better With tropes) and, after finishing my wick check for Disabled Love Interest, I decided to do a wick check for this trope to see if my suspicions were correct.
Wick check: Link here, but here's the quick results copied over:
Totaled together, that's
Also noting that 41/50 examples specifically (ignoring the Other use) were of Chairs or zero-context use, or 82%.
Analysis: Indeed, there was a startling number of "pandas exist" use and Zero-Context Examples. Many wicks were just mentioning the existence of pandas, panda characters, or panda theming in a work, without anything tropeworthy attached. Almost no examples fit the definition, and the "other use" was too small to make up a meaningful pattern.
Possible solutions: In light of this, I recommend a cut or disambiguation. I cannot see a way in which we can salvage this trope otherwise, nor do I see any particularly yard-worthy ideas here.
What does everyone else think? Any other ideas or suggestions?
Wick check
Here, a wick check will be performed for Pandaing To The Audience.
Why?: Pandaing To The Audience is, at best, defined as "cute pandas", which could be its own trope (Pandas Are Adorable?). However, much of the on-page use (and some of the description) is "pandas exist". This check will determine how much of each there is.
Wicks checked: 50/50
Wick totals:
Totaled together, that's
Also noting that 41/50 examples specifically (ignoring the Other use) were of Chairs or zero-context use, or 82%.
