Tropes found in A983 Network Shows
Tropes that apply to The Epic A 983 Anime
- Adaptational Badass: Literally any character can go into this category.
- Adapted Out: Stampede, Fawnbross' Canonical Partner, isn't present anywhere, with his spot being replaced by 51M. Although 51M died, so Fawnbross is canonically single as of now.
- A Day in the Limelight: Episode 4: Bloody Murderer revolves around Sonic and Bendy invading one of "A982"'s bases, which is implied to be Emerald's.
- After the End: The series is implied to take place after an apocalypse that plagued A982's world.
- Anyone Can Die: Considering the nature of the series, this happens to a few characters.
- Bait-and-Switch Credits: In the new opening, it shows A983 possibly getting a powered-up form, thanks to the yellow aura. This never happens in the actual series.
- From the same intro, it shows A983 and co. on top of a building, with Bendy having a bandage over his eye. None of this actually happens, though this could be from an early draft of the story.
- Bloodier and Gorier: The series has so many cases of blood and gore. Not even A983's World has tons of gore.
- Call-Back:
- Remember this piece of dialogue below? Well, in Episode 10, Full Circle, Eddybross actually uses the laboratory. However, Felipebross has turned into a Kaiju. Needless to say, Eddybross was right. It was too late.
Unknown Person: "You could've used the laboratory, y'know."Eddybross: "It's too late."
- Remember this piece of dialogue below? Well, in Episode 10, Full Circle, Eddybross actually uses the laboratory. However, Felipebross has turned into a Kaiju. Needless to say, Eddybross was right. It was too late.
- Covers Always Lie: On the usual thumbnails for the series, it shows Alex and Isabella, two of 8OXnote 's characters, though they are never seen anywhere.
- Crapsack World: The Lost City can count as one. A983's dialogue says it all.
- A983: At least i can tell this is going to be a crappy new city. Just look at this...! There's trash everywhere... The buildings are worn down and destroyed... Well, at least they have a bus station.
- Demographic-Dissonant Crossover: The series contains various characters and users from Scratch, a coding website mainly targeted for kids. In The Epic A983 Anime, they're in a blood-filled war.
- Doomed Hometown: Sticktopia in Episode 8.
- For Want Of A Nail: The Apocalypse begins when a satellite starts malfunctioning due to a Scratch Cereals commercial.
- Gorn: This happens a lot, to the point where Episode 10 is just Invincible-level Gorn.
- Heroic Sacrifice: In Episode 5, Felipebross charges up all of his energy to attack Evil Robotboy. While it does kill him, it doesn't end well for Felipebross, though...
- Killed Off for Real: Whilst A982 is just trapped in the crystal post-Episode 1, in Episode 8, whatever was possessing the crystal destroys it, implying that A982 is dead.
- La Résistance: The series is about A983 being leader of his group after A982 gets possessed by an evil entity.
- Mood Whiplash:
- Episode 6 uses this a lot.
- After Eddybross visits Felipebross' gravestone, it shows Felipebross moving on to the great beyond... Only for A983 to say that Felipebross will be okay.
- Scratch Cat telling how he fought against the Crystal Entity, how he managed to avoid every single one of his attacks, thus leading to the entity melting in a lava pool... only to cut to Scratch Cat burning his tail. Realistic cat sounds included!
- Episode 6 uses this a lot.
- Reformed, but Not Tamed: Despite herself confessing that she's a horrible person after joining "A982"'s side, Emerald still fights on "A982"'s side.
- Super Not-Drowning Skills: In one moment of the showdown through projects, A983 and A982 come across Labyrinth Zone, with other Scratchers. They drown, but A983 and A982 are unaffected.
- Trauma Conga Line: A982. He was partially responsible for Sticktopia's destruction, might have been the one responsible for the Apocalypse, got his body stolen by a ghoul, and he got killed off by said ghoul in Episode 8. What a life.
Tropes that apply to The Afterlife Galz Show
- Adapted Out: The one and only Helltaker, despite being a key part in the OG game, does not appear in this series.
Tropes that apply to The Epic A 982 Anime
- Happy Ending Override: This seems to be like this for Kirby. After all the pain he's gone through, he seems to have finally gotten a happy ending in Scratchland, but then the return to A982's dimension happened. And Blakkon shows up.
- Limelight Series: The series revolves around A982 and co. fighting back against Blakkon instead of A983 and co. fighting back against the entity inside A982's body.
Trivia found in A983 Network Shows
A983's World's Trivia
- Adored by the Network: Despite shows like The Triple Threat Show having more views, A983's World has more episodes.
- Creator Backlash: It seems that A983 doesn't like Episodes 7 and 8, as they have been unlisted from public viewing and can only be viewed through the series' playlist. This might've been due to the fact that Five Nights at Sonic's is no longer canon to A983's World (aside from Leftila) and due to the fact that Lefty Sonic and A983 are viewed as a couple, which is also non-canon.
The Epic A 983 Anime's Trivia
- Creator Backlash: A983 admits that Episode 6: Crystal Conundrum is the weakest The Epic A983 Anime episode to date.
- Development Hell: Development on Episode 10: Full Circle, the series finale, has started since February 2023, and development finished on March 30th, 2023.
- What Could Have Been: A sequel to A983 VS. A982, A983 VS. A982 II, was announced. Like this series, it revolves around A982 and a crystal, and A982 potentially getting possessed. However, the film was Quietly Cancelled due to development taking too long, thus replacing it with The Epic A983 Anime.
- Word of God:
- In a comment on this project, A983 confirmed that Benny died sometime before the events of Season 1, which explains why he is absent aside from a flashback by Felipebross in Episode 5.
The Epic A 982 Anime's Trivia
The Afterlife Galz Show's Trivia
- What Could Have Been: This is the A983 Network show that has the most scrapped content so far.
- The main demon girls could've been sisters, not just Malina and Zdrada. It's even mentioned by Modeus in "A Relaxing Night". However, due to story changes while the hiatus was happening, this was cut. Azazel and Modeus then lampshade this change in "Best Time of the Year".
- Characters from Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss could've appeared in the series at one point. Charlie, Vaggie and Niffty on Hazbin Hotel's side, and Millie, Loona, Octavia and even Verosika on Helluva Boss' side. This idea was cut because of A983 losing interest in both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. However, it is likely that some original demons might take their roles at some point in the story.
- The sprites for the main girls in one of the Helltaker prototypes could have been made into their own, standalone characters and lived right next to the Afterlife Galz' Mansion, but this was cut for unknown reasons.
- Episode 4 onwards could've used AI Voices like Episodes 1, 2, and 3, however due to an overhaul with Uberduck.ai, plus the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike that was happening during the hiatus, the series used A983's World + The Epic A983/A982 Anime's way of using dialogue: By using the default Scratch dialogue boxes.
The Triple Threat Show's Trivia
- Artist Disillusionment: As seen in a status update for A983 Network, one of the reasons for the Triple Threat Show's cancellation was because the A983 Network fandom was paying more attention to The Triple Threat Show rather than any other show like A983's World or The Afterlife Galz.
- Ascended Fanon: Episode 666, a popular urban legend in the Triple Threat Show community, is now real! However, it is an April Fools joke.
- Cancellation: As of September 14th, 2022, The Triple Threat Show has been cancelled, and its last episode, The Grand Finale, premiered on Youtube on January 5th, 2023.
YMMV found in A983 Network Shows
A983's World's YMMV
- Accidental Innuendo: "BIG, MEATY, BALLS!" "Well, these balls aren't for attracting mates."
- Harsher in Hindsight: Hank, Deimos and Sanford appear in Season 2, Episode 15. However, as of now, no Madness-related show has come out.
The Epic A 983 Anime's YMMV
- Accidental Innuendo: Episode 4 states that "A982" is Emerald's master. While others treat it in a usual manner, others might think of it as something... different. Thankfully, it's just that "A982" brings Emeralds orders for evil plans.
- Funny Moments: Whilst the series is usually pretty serious in tone, there are some funny moments.
- A Freeze-Frame Bonus: During Bendy and Emerald's confrontation, everything plays out like a Moment of Awesome... and then there's Emerald pulling Bendy's tail, causing him to have Blank White Eyes and a goofy expression.
- In the same episode, when Bendy gets attacked by Emerald's frying pan, he gets smashed to the ground... and he lies there in the same way as the infamous Yamcha pose. Or at least, what seems like it...
- After Bendy transforms into his Ink Self, he lets out an Evil Laugh. And it's as funny as it sounds.
- The way A983 tries to get into "A982"'s building. By drawing A982's face to try to trick the face scanner.
Face Scanner: "A982 face not detected."Face Scanner: (After A983 draws A982's face) "Hello, master! Aren't you forgetting something?"Face Scanner: (After A983 scribbles red eyes and a big Slasher Smile on the drawing) "Welcome home, A982!"- A983 and A982 take a quick breather in a limo in the series finale. After a few seconds, they get back to fighting like if it never happened.
- A Freeze-Frame Bonus: During Bendy and Emerald's confrontation, everything plays out like a Moment of Awesome... and then there's Emerald pulling Bendy's tail, causing him to have Blank White Eyes and a goofy expression.
- Heartwarming Moments:
- Felipebross going to heaven after Eddybross visits his gravestone. Of course, this leads to a Mood Whiplash by A983, but still.
Felipebross: "It's okay, Eddy. I understand."Lily: "C'mon, Felipe! We're all waiting for you."Felipebross: "I'm coming, dear Lily."
- In Episode 10:
- Eddybross' last conversation to his brother. After he finally pieces together what happened, he brings one last conversation with his brother before he passes away peacefully, for real this time:
Eddybross: "Now that you've told me that, your act was... actually pretty heroic. Too bad you had to pass away after that... And plus, i just wanted to see you again. We're brothers, y'know?"Felipebross: "It's ok, Eddybross. I missed you too."Felipebross: "I guess my time is coming... again. Thank you for this calm reunion. Even though it had a rocky start... it was nice seeing you again. G o o d b y e, E d d y b r o s s . . ."- Eddybross' words afterwards shows that he still has some Undying Loyalty to his brother, despite him passing away for good.
Eddybross: "Don't worry, Felipebross. I'll fight against A982 so that you can be proud. When we see each other again, i'll tell you what i did. Now, i'll be off on an adventure! See you in a few yearsnote , Felipebross!- Scratch Cat listening to his friends' last words before getting executed.
Nano: "Yeah, Scratch Cat was my friend. I was born a few years later, but that didn't stop me from looking up to him. He has the qualities of a hero. Loyal, trustful, creative, determined, and brave, all at once. Using all of his creativity, he brung in unexpected characters to this very world. My name is Nano, and Scratch Cat is like my brother figure."Tera: "Scratch Cat, if you're listening to us, we believe in you. You have all of the redeeming qualities. We know you can't move over to the dark side. Don't succumb to whatever's possessing A982. I'm Tera, and you can do it, Scratch Cat. You can do it."- After everything he's gone through, it's relieving seeing A983 form his new reality, in which his world and A982's world are fused together, and there are no more bad guys. Overlaps with Moment of Awesome. Too bad that's retconned in the upcoming A982-centered Season 2.
- Kirby has gone through so much in this series. What's the last thing he gets in this finale after getting transported to A983's self-made realm? Getting comforted by Tara and Jack. Earn Your Happy Ending at its finest!
- Felipebross going to heaven after Eddybross visits his gravestone. Of course, this leads to a Mood Whiplash by A983, but still.
- Moment of Awesome:
- While the previous intro was epic on its own, the one seen in the series finale takes the cake.
- The scene where A983 and A982 battle across many Scratch projects can count as one.
- Nightmare Fuel: This series is no stranger to this, so buckle up.
- Full Circle has a bunch of examples:
- FELIPEBROSS TURNING INTO A FULL-ON KAIJU. Angry that his brother rejected his closure, he chases after him without a second thought. After that, he begins thrashing the city. If Eddybross didn't step in at the last second, one must think what could have happened if Felipebross annihilated the city.
- Scratch Cat's friends getting executed. The kicker here is that no visible details of their executions are shown, other than the fact that they're getting electrocuted, and a loud scream comes out.
- After Kirby demands Dark Paper to lower the price of the M69 C.L.R., he tries so, only to be Killed Mid-Sentence by Kirby. And in a Shadow Discretion Shot, to top it off! Even Kirby realizes what he has done.
- While A983's nightmare was a Big-Lipped Alligator Moment back then, it's discussed by Kirby in a flashback. Turns out that A983's Mother was trying to check up on her son after Evil A983 took over Scratchland, and it turns out that she also went to A982's world, thanks to a retelling of how A983 and Evan got there. And she is killed by the possessed A982, immediately after entering the realm. You can even hear her whimpers of pain after getting killed by A982.
- While the final fight is one big Moment of Awesome, there are some moments worthy of being here, such as: Jacob comes back on a space ship, ready to take down A982's minions! ...Only to be distracted by Evil Homework. And then he is sent plummeting to his death with him. Thankfully, he survives, but jeez...
Evil Homework: "By the way, i hijacked the engine. Good luck surviving! You and i are going to die, TOGETHER!"- Fawnbross slicing Evil Scratch Cat's eye. And she doesn't even wince at the sight.
- Kirby trying to suck up A983s Return, possibly trying to use him as a copy ability... Only for A983sReturn to be shot the same way Dark Paper was shot.
- When A983 looks at how bad they're performing now, Jacob's flesh is being torn apart by Evil Homework. The worst thing? Jacob's empty eye socket is fully exposed.
- Blakkon returns, using Fawnbross' sword not to slice her eye, but her ENTIRE HEAD STARTING WITH HER BRAIN.
- While fighting across many projects, "A982" and A983 come across Labyrinth Zone, where there are many Scratchers having a pleasant time... until they start drowning. You can feel A983's intensity to try and defeat "A982" while the others are drowning, and in a very realistic way, no less. While they're still flailing around, they aren't screaming for help or anything. They're just... silent, as their faces almost turn purple until their inevitable demise comes. And then... the timer reaches zero, and they drown. Exepct for "A982" and A983.
- The Grand Finale of the fight. "A982" is restrained by A983, tired and unable to fight. Before A983 can do something, the two are swallowed by a black hole, sealing their fates. What makes this even worse is that despite A983's allies being damaged in battle, the black hole completely seals their fates as well, destroying A982's universe with them.
- Full Circle has a bunch of examples:
- Squick: Da Darek using A982!Drago's corpse as a costume in Familiar Face, the third episode. What makes it worse is that almost all of his parts, including his wings, are hollowed out. A983's reaction is pretty reasonable.
- A983: I'm not gonna puke. I'm not gonna puke at all. I'm totally not gonna-
- Tear Jerker:
- In Episode 1, A982 is with a bunch of survivors of the apocalypse, with no way out without being in risk of getting killed. Some people like Blueton and Tara have reached beyond the Despair Event Horizon, to the point where Blueton even tried to hang himself. YIKES.
- Kirby's fate. In his past days, he turned over a new leaf, becoming a respected lawyer in A982's Scratchland. However, due to his contract getting spit all over, he is fired from his job, and becomes a Jaded Washout, drinking and smoking on the streets. Poor thing.
- The reveal that the reason why A982 and co. can come back to life in the Scratch projects is because they've been suffering a curse, and the crystal's entity takes over A982, without him even knowing the effects of getting possessed. Serves as a Deconstruction of some Scratch projects.
- In Episode 8, we learn more about A982's backstory. And it's full of moments like these.
- While it feels out of nowhere seeing a toxic liquid in a can of beans being spilled out, wrecking the entire city of Sticktopia, you at least have to admit. A982 was curious, he didn't want to see Sticktopia being destroyed. Seeing him get framed as the sole cause of Sticktopia's destruction by an old man is pretty sad, and the beginning of A982's downfall.
- The rest of A982's life. He spent his life in a lone motel, always carrying the weight of his consequences. Thankfully, it all gets better when he meets some new friends, but still...
- A982 running around the destroyed town. It's pretty clear that despite the fact that he unintentionally caused the end of his hometown, he still wants to be a hero. When he sees the house, he notices that there are survivors. What's the first thing he does? He BANGS ON THE DOOR, distressed about the survivors' safety.
- Unintentionally Unsympathetic: While Fawnbross is a heroic character, her past with Evil Robotboy makes it pretty hard to root for her.
- bluie123: "we had to deal with evil robotboy"bluie123: didn't they get arrested from abuse
- The Woobie:
- A983 can count as a woobie. I mean, come on. Scratchtown was finally taken over by Evil A983, he got transported to another dimension alongside Evan, and now he has to lead a group of pseudo-soldiers in order to defeat an old friend.
- Emerald might count as a woobie. The poor girl escaped from the underground, with nowhere else to go. She then let "A982" brainwash her.
- A982, obviously. Imagine getting your hometown destroyed due to a can of beans, unintentionally creating a full-on apocalypse, getting your body snatched by an evil ghoul, and if things could not get any worse, the crystal you were residing in getting shattered into pieces, thus killing you.
- On a much smaller scale, Kirby. He got a job as a lawyer and was living the best life on Earth, only for it to be stripped away... because he ate his contract and had spit all over it. From there his life becomes a Trauma Conga Line for the rest of the series. He gains a beanie and his skin is much darker, he begins using real guns, and is part of an actual war now. Seeing KIRBY, out of all characters, to do all this is pretty jarring. This quote in Episode 10 sums it all up:
Kirby: (Right after walking out of the gun store) "Man, what have i done?"
The Epic A 982 Anime's YMMV
- Heartwarming in Hindsight: A982's Backstory with Tonic the Hedgefox in Episode 3 might have come out of nowhere for some viewers, but it's an example of Real Life Writes the Plot. Back in the day, Tonic had a rivalry with A983 due to using his sprites, in which A983 reacted immaturely. This moment in this episode makes sense now that the two grew up in real life, and this is a way of A983 wanting to tie things up on a sweet note.
Tropes found in A983's Scratch Accounts
A982
Tropes
- All Just a Dream: Tonic Gets Sent to the Underworld and other hate projects have been retconned to be this.
- The Bus Came Back: Applies to both A982 and A983 accounts. A982 has been brought back a few times, but only as a means of Self-Deprecation. After A983 VS. A982 got released, he became a permanent part of the A983 crew.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: A982 can fall into this category, but he has gotten a lot kinder in later movies and series, especially The Epic A983/A982 Anime.
- Massive Multiplayer Crossover: Most, if not all projects count as these. Various Scratchers and various pieces of media are thrown into the projects. A983 still does that to this day, and even in A983 Network.
- Stylistic Suck: Since it's A983's first ever account, expect a lot of this.
Funny Moments
- In Add Yourself In Sonic Logo!, The Sonic 1 logo is completely replaced, with "A982: The Game" taking its place.
- Like many of the other projects, there's a lot of Stylistic Suck. Chara's face is poorly embedded into the sun, the "lake" is just a blue circle, and A982 has an awkward expression.
- The cherry on top? RAGE QUIT.
- Combined with Nightmare Fuel, in Add your internet disconnection!, A982's screen is added. What happens when you click on the button? Leafy is about to get eaten by a black wall, with red eyes, yellow teeth, and oddly-human gums. The kicker is how it just comes out of nowhere, and the Mood Whiplash that comes after that, with Eraser standing behind a broken internet cable.
- In Add yourself getting pelted with error messages, A982, Flower, Toriel, Eraser, Pencil and Match are thrown into the desktop as well. A few of the error messages include:
- "Buy a fan?" "Yes" "No""YEAH, WHO? I WANNA KNOW!"
- The funny thing about the last one is that it went under Scratch's censorship radar, and thus the project was never taken down.
- In Planet of my user, it seems perfectly normal... until the land comes in. A982 and co. are poorly-added onto the land, and due to the fact that the planet is pretty large, A982 and his friends could be GIANTS compared to a regular human being.
- In Add yourself dancing to Pitbull - Celebrate with Spongebob and Patrick, Sonic and Blinky are thrown into the mix... only for Sonic to drown right after. After Sonic drowns, A982 appears in a submarine and delivers a Non Sequitur.
- In ALZTER'S NIGHTMARE RP pt.21 remix, everything goes as normal, until Flower, Sonic, and JONATHAN 1320 appear. If things couldn't get weirder, Kirby tries a poor impression of Phoenix Wright It's a bit Harsher in Hindsight when The Epic A983 Anime released, but it's still funny nonetheless.
- In AY in the doomsday, Pinkyberet is smoking a cigarette, thus causing a fire. What's even funnier is, alongside "Add yourself getting pelted with error messages", this project never got taken down by Scratch Team.
- In Scratch Number Beat (v1.1), nothing too unusual happens, until both the events "It's time" and "theendisnigh" are triggered. Jacob is also seen with sunglasses and a cigarette as well. Everybody is screaming and possibly dying. What's even funnier is the error message that appears before the chaos, plus the TTS voice that plays before the chaos.
- "Hey guys. Why is the computer on fire? How do i do a backup if i want to save my data- Wait, why are you running?! Why are the fire alarms going off?!"
Trivia
- Humble Beginnings: This is A983's very first public account. The evolution explains itself! From a poorly-drawn stickman hanging out with various Scratchers to said stickman and his friends saving the world from total annihilation in The Epic A982 Anime.
YMMV
- Overshadowed by Controversy: Applies to both A982 and A983. His Mean and Hateful behavior back then was shown in a lot of projects. Examples include hateful conduct towards users, claiming he owns Kirby, among various things. Stuff like these caused both accounts to be banned, but A983 has returned with a fresh new look in A983s Return. Nowadays A983 feels regret for what he did back then, and A982 has since then been brought back with a positive light, especially in A983 VS. A982, and the Epic A983/A982 Anime duology.
