Main Characters

    Bobby and Penny
Two novice magicians who generate a portal, are sucked in, and must now fight their way through countless dimensions to find the Magic Book and return to their own dimension.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: They are visibly novices, and they are also careless with the portals, as well as scared of half their encounters. Yet they power through giant crabs, more experienced witches, mobsters, even a magical book that can turn into a powerful wizard, and safely return home with the book.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: They are not fearless and clearly not experienced, but they are actually pretty good with magic. They can transform themselves into merpeople to avoid drowning, fly in brooms if they have to, use at least three elements to attack, create magical shields and use all these skills to safely escape and defeat all hostiles they encounter.
  • Elemental Powers: They attack with Fire, Ice, and Wind from their wands.
  • Little Miss Badass: Being a child doesn't mean Penny can't handle herself in a fight.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: They accidentally start their perilous adventure themselves by opening a portal.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: They are usually either scared or happy, and don't seem to be particularly hostile to anyone, just defending themselves. However, after they corner the book that dragged them through so many adventures and fought them viciously, they look pissed.
  • Pink Girl, Blue Boy: Along with being male and female respectively, Bobby wears a blue hat and cape while Penny's are dark pinkish.
  • Wind Is Green: Their Wind shots are Green.

    The Cat
A dark brown and white cat belonging either to Bobby and Penny, or to their wizard master. In any case, it gets sucked into the portal with them and pops up from time to time to assist them.
  • All Witches Have Cats: Bobby, Penny, and their master are clearly wizards (bar Penny) instead of witches. Still, they have a pet cat. It helps that Penny's outfit makes her look a bit like a Cute Witch.
  • Cats Are Lazy: The cat sleeps through the first phase of the final battle despite how chaotic it is. After that, it's not seen again until the ending cutscene.
  • Checkpoint: In the run-and-gun levels, the cat serves as a midway checkpoint.
  • Cute Kitten: It's a friendly cat with a very cute design. What's not to love?
  • Oh, Crap!: When Bobby and Penny discover the portal spell, the cat gives a comically distressed face to the camera. It clearly knows that this is not going to end well.
  • Solid Clouds: During gameplay, the cat is always seeing floating on a cloud.

    The Magic Book (UNMARKED SPOILERS)
A book Bobby knocks out while dusting. He later becomes sentient and the Plot Device of the entire adventure.

The Bosses

    General Tropes
  • Generic Doomsday Villain: None of them have any reason for trying to kill Bobby and Penny on sight and get no characterization other than what their fighting styles imply.
  • Sequential Boss: Most of them have multiple phases. The few exceptions can technically be considered part of the final fight due to having no breather in between.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Despite them being children, the bosses have no issue with trying to kill Bobby and Penny. Overlaps with Would Hit a Girl because Penny is female.

    Meowitch
A witch that lives in a graveyard and attacks with cats.
  • All Witches Have Cats: She's a witch and her main method of attacking in Phase 1 is dropping cats down to attack the Player Characters. This is presumably where she gets her name from.
  • Art Shift: She is the first villain to cause it with her powers, and it also is shown story-wise.
  • Hot Witch: In her first phase, she's a dark and spooky but still good-looking young woman. Subverted in her last two phases, where she changes to a more traditional Wicked Witch look and becomes less attractive.
  • I'm Melting!: She melts after her defeat, fitting her status as a wicked witch.
  • Sinister Schnoz: She later gains a long, pointy nose befitting of her being a Wicked Witch.
  • Visual Pun: In her first phase, she pulls an endless supply of cats from a bag. She let the cat out of the bag.
  • Wicked Witch: She is an evil witch who fights the protagonists. She starts off as a Hot Witch, but later turns into a more traditional witch with green skin, a long, pointy nose, and a leaner, scarier physique.

    The Cow
A cow/alien/robot hybrid that pilots a flying saucer.
  • Aliens Steal Cattle: Inverted. The cow is flying the ship and commanding the aliens.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Her method to defeat Bobby and Penny is forcing them to join in a disco dance. It works (well for the most part at least. She manages to shrink the two young warlocks, but then they manage to defeat her.).
  • Combat Pragmatist: She renders the heroes helpless by making them dance uncontrollably, then she shrinks them and attacks them.
  • Evil Laugh: She lets out malicious, yet inaudible, laughter when she manages to shrink Bobby and Penny.
  • Expy: Serves as one to both Esther Winchester and Dr. Kahl's Robot. Her design is reminiscent of the former, while the second phase of her boss fightnote  is more like the latter.
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard: She ends up destroying her spaceship via accidentally damaging it with her laser while trying to kill Bobby and Penny.
  • Robotic Reveal: She is actually revealed to be mechanical despite originally appearing to be a cow.

    Haarmit
A hermit crab carrying a pirate ship of anthropomorphic sharks.
  • Determinator: His ghost can fight just as well as his physical body.
  • Giant Enemy Crab: In case you couldn't tell from his name, he's a hermit crab, is hostile and big enough to carry a ship.

    The Octopus
A fancy-looking octopus that Bobby and Penny fight (self-transformed into merpeople) after being knocked into the sea.

    The Princess
The princess of a frog-themed kingdom. When kissed by a frog, she turns into one herself.
  • Cool Crown: Befitting of a princess, she sports a crown.
  • One-Winged Angel: Deliberately lets a frog kiss her so she can turn into a frog herself. She is much more mobile in this form.
  • Psycho Pink: Wearing a pink dress doesn't mean she's not one of the antagonists who attacks Bobby and Penny.
  • Shout-Out: Her design might be referencing Princess Peach.
  • Villainous Princess: Along with being a princess, she has zero issue trying to kill Bobby and Penny.

    The Bison and Cowboy Roosters
A gang of cowboy roosters riding a bison. They switch roles in the second phase, with the roosters carrying the bison.

    Rocky
A greaser rooster who hangs by the Fountain of Time.
  • Cocky Rooster: He has shades of this, being a vain rooster who's trying to kill Bobby and Penny.
  • Death by De-aging: Subverted. After he loses, he falls back into the fountain and turns back into an egg. Bobby and Penny move on and don’t fight him after that.
  • The Fighting Narcissist: He enjoys fighting and looking at himself.
  • Flunky Boss: He is almost always assisted by two statues. As a Roman, he commands turtling Roman soldiers. As a caveman, he has the help of pterodactyls and dinosaurs.
  • Fountain of Youth: Technically a Fountain of Time, as it turns him into his Roman and Paleolithic ancestors. Though it was originally going to be a straight example.

    The Pianist
A pianist that resembles Ludwig van Beethoven.

    Cerberus
A three-headed dog with each head resembling a certain dog breed (a Chihuahua, a Pug, and a Shiba Inu).
  • Hell Hound: He's an absolutely monstrous looking dog, due to having three different heads, which can detach from his body.
  • Killer Rabbit: None of the heads are intimidating, but this Cerberus still is no less threatening than other incarnations of him in media. Before the fight starts proper, Bobby and Penny only see the chihuahua head from its kennel, and laugh at it until seeing the other two emerge as well.
  • Losing Your Head: He can detach his heads without killing himself. The heads can create bodies on their own.
