Sonic the Hedgehog fan characters
Sanic
Crusade Mod Creator: Jio_Inzagi
- Ascended Extra: Was part of the April Fools build before getting included in CMC+ as an alternate mode for Sonic.
- Ground Pound: Taken from Sonic Adventure 2, Sanic performs the Bounce Drop, diving to the ground in ball form to bounce off of surfaces (or foes).
- Moveset Clone: Naturally, to Sonic The Hedgehog. He shares a lot of moves from his Crusade incarnation, though he also pulls a few different moves from all incarnations: his down smash being a back-and-forth spin dash akin to his first Smash depiction, his down air being the Sonic Adventure 2 bounce drop, and up air being a flip kick.
- Mythology Gag: To the original Crusade: his intro involves kicking aside Weegee, akin to the latter's original intro, where he did the same to Sqeegee (a Weegeefied Squidward made by russmars2).
- Stylistic Suck: Sanic's basically a poorly drawn Sonic, making him this trope by default. With that said, his portrayal here is less low quality in terms of animations and moveset quality.
Sonder Rickstorm
He has two movesets to select from, his normal and "classic" modes, both having different special moves.
- Counter-Attack: Down special; Sonder enters the counter stance facing away from the camera, with him responding to an oncoming attack by comboing the foe with four hits, the last being a double axe kick spike to the ground/blast-zone, all in the span of one second.
- Ground Punch: Punches into the ground for the down smash, causing the ground around Sonder to tremble, tripping any foe at a low enough percentage. If a foe is dangerously close as he punches, they'll be Hammered into the Ground.
- Idle Animation: Ends their "Shoto-stance" pose with a more relaxed hand-on-hip stance that's soon followed by holding up another to his chin as he closes his eyes, pondering to himself until his idle is interupted.
- Leitmotif: "Final Judgement - Reactor"
- Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Holding down the button while performing the neutral air will keep the attack going for as long as possible — or until Sonder lands on ground, resulting in the Drop Dash.
- Rolling Attack: The Drop Dash from Sonic Mania is featured as a landing neutral air, with Sonder rolling across the ground from the built-up momentum.
- Secret Character: Defeat his Super Mode in the challenge "Emerald Overpowering."
- Super Mode: Activated via Final Smash, Sonder's uses the Chaos Emerald to turn cyan in fur and eyes, buffing his damage output for less than a dozen seconds. He also has his own AI-Exclusive variant that's exclusively in this mode, prominently featured in the "Emerald Overpowering" Challenge.
Seelkadoom
One of the big bads of the Sonic fan game series Sonic RPG, a genetic experiment of Dr. Eggman's gone rogue.
- Dash Attack: Side special has Seelkadoom propel themselves forward. It's not much as a offensive air-dash by default, but using up the meter turns it into a Grapple Move that drags any foe along.
- Death from Above: Up smash rains a row of meteors across the stage, with the meteors becoming more plentiful if used with a filled Mana Meter.
- EX Special Attack: The smash attacks each consume the Mana Meter to use stronger variations of the move if said meter is sufficiently charged; up and down smash being upgraded by using all the reserve in the meter, while forward smash only requires a portion of the meter. As for how the attacks are affected:
- Forward smash works like normal, except when it lands on an opponent, it leads into Seelkadoom barraging the foe from all angles before Roundhouse Kicking them away.
- Up smash's meteors become more plentiful the more meter is used up.
- Down smash's Area of Effect becomes slightly larger and significantly more powerful; a full meter down smash dealing thirty-eight percent or more in one attack.
- Mana Meter: Above Seelkadoom's percentage is a meter, which allows for him to use enhanced versions of certain attacks. It slowly regenerates overtime, but can be manually charged with down special.
- Secret Character: Complete Super Sonic's Arcade mode.
- Video Game Flight: Upon using up special with the meter charged, Seelkadoom will enter a state where they'll freely move in the air floating while depleting the meter.
Touhou Project fan characters
Meimu
Crusade Mod Creator: Jio_Inzagi
An entity of enigmatic origins resembling a dark Reimu. In real life, she was created by a Chinese artist as compensation for Reimu losing a popularity poll.
- Casting a Shadow: A lot of her attacks are recolored to be darkness-based, including some of her normal attacks hit effects.
- Dash Attack: Twirls her gohei in an off-hand manner overhead... while upside down, striking below. Doubles as a Meteor Move due to its ability to spike, making it powerful when the attack goes offstage.
- Moveset Clone: Downplayed. She shares the same stats and certain attacks from the original Reimu are still in Meimu's moveset, but they're applied differently. For one, all of Reimu's specials (aside from up) are relegated to a Spell Card wheel neutral special for Meimu, while the latter's two other specials are original.
- Paper Talisman: The original Reimu uses these regularly as danmaku, but strictly uses them for casting other spells for her moveset in CMC+. Meimu, meanwhile, uses these ofuda as a projectile attack for the side special.
- Video Game Flight: Like Reimu, she has the ability to hover by holding down the jump button. Unlike Reimu, it's not tied to her Mana Meter.
- Weapon Twirling: Like with Reimu, Meimu twirls her gohei out-of-hand for certain moves. Here, Meimu sets it across the ground for down smash and holds above/below for the Dash Attack.
Yukkuri Reimu
Crusade Mod Creator: Jio_Inzagi
The infamous disembodied head version of Reimu circulating across the Internet, telling people to "take it easy". Long have yukkuris been abused and tortured by their "fandom," but now, here, they fight back.
- Action Bomb: Down special turns Yukkuri into a bomb with a fuse, blowing up less than a second after activation, dealing heavy damage while damaging themselves in return.
- Ascended Extra: Was originally part of the April Fools build as "Yukkuri" before getting included in CMC+ as an alternate moveset for Reimu.
- Awesome, but Impractical: Yukkuri's forward smash, while a strong, incredibly fast, projectile attack that extends out far, it's offset by the long windup before charging the move, making it unlikely to hit anyone.
- Cast from Hit Points: Yukkuri's Action Bomb deals fifteen percent of damage to themselves at the cost of being its strongest attack.
- Flying Face: By proxy of being a disembodied head depiction of Reimu that can move around without the need of a body.
- Matryoshka Object: A living, offensive variant with Yukkuri themselves, splitting apart to reveal a smaller version inside for the up smash and down tilt.
- Paper Talisman: Taking after Reimu, Yukkuri weaponizes this in danmaku form: shooting a constant stream of ofudas for the neutral special, while tossing a larger, short-ranged variant for the side tilt.
Fire Cirno
Character Mod Origin: Kokekoko (M.U.G.E.N)
Cirno, but she has fire powers instead of ice powers.
- Ascended Extra: Was featured in the April Fools build before getting included as an alternate moveset for Cirno.
- Counter-Attack: Down special has Fire Cirno face away from the attacker in a cowering position. Hitting her in this state results in the attacking foe getting hit by her wings extending out, inflicting the opponent with a stun effect.
- Cower Power: What she does for her Counter-Attack, facing the opposite direction while crouching with hands over her head.
- Artwork and Game Graphics Segregation: Her gameplay sprites are a rip of a M.U.G.E.N mod, yet her character art is completely different in contrast; the various reds are a different shade, she's wearing a darker red bow instead of a green one, and her wings are actual fire construct that contrasts the crystal-like appearance.
- Kung-Fu Wizard: In contrast to Cirno — who's majority of attacks feature various uses of ice magic, with only several instances of physical combat — Fire Cirno uses more physical combat, with her fire attacks complementing them.
- Playing with Fire: With the name "Fire Cirno," it's a no brainer what Elemental Powers she has.
Schmietta
- Arm Cannon: Equips one to fire miasma projectiles via Neutral Special. When charged, it fires three projectiles in a spread.
- Damage Over Time: The projectiles fired from her Neutral Special inflict this. Combined with her Gradual Regeneration, this can easily give her an edge in Stamina fights.
- Flechette Storm: Her Side Special, wherein she can throw multiple barrages of knives in succession, or jump back and fire a spread of them if you hold backwards while doing so.
- Gradual Regeneration: Schmietta has the passive ability to regenerate her percent, healing 1% of damage every 1.5 seconds.
- Pinball Projectile: Like with Mugetsu's respective special move, the knives from her side special can bounce all over the place, particularly when thrown in a back-flip jump manner and/or in cramped spaces.
- Secret Character:
- She's hiding in a secret area of the "Luna Nights" challenge. Find her and defeat her in back-to-back stamina and regular matches.
- Sometimes however, luck may favor you and randomly throw you into an unlock battle against her after a versus match.
- Spread Shot: As said above, her Neutral Special fires one if it is charged.
Original Generation
Azrael
Crusade Mod Creator: TOUGON
A character intended for Super Smash Flash 2's roster until its retool tossed him into What Could Have Been purgatory, Azrael has been granted a new lease at life in CMC+.
- Homing Projectile: The ghosts that Azrael spawns are of the painfully slow variety that explodes on contact.
- Leitmotif: "Dragula" — Hot Rod Herman remix.
- Mighty Glacier: Azrael's walk is painfully slow, with their run only being better by a margin, while the air speed is in-between the two. Their attacks meanwhile are heavy hitting and slow, the smash attacks in particular having their endlag in the double digits.
- Number of the Beast: Their Final Smash deals 666% of damage in one hit.
- Sinister Scythe: As befitting someone who is name after the Islamic Angel of Death — whose role is effectively that of The Grim Reaper — he uses his blade, Xcrete, as his main weapon.
- Secret Character: Complete the challenge "Flash Originals," which pits you against him and Super Smash Flash veteran Blade.
John Googly
Take Master Hand's Kirby & the Amazing Mirror sprites, slap some googly eyes on him and you've got John Googly. This is as close as you'll get to Master Hand as a traditional playable character.
- Ambidextrous Sprite: You can't get any more ambidextrous than a giant right hand becoming a giant left hand and vice-versa depending on the direction he faces.
- Artwork and Game Graphics Segregation: His official render depicts him with a skin-colored hand. In-game his hand is white.
- Bare-Handed Puppetry: This is basically his design, with googly eyes atop a hand — Master Hand, to be specific.
- Finger Gun: V7 only, and taken from Master Hand's Signature Move; Googly points forward in this manner to fire bullet projectiles for the neutral special. He even performs a "Pistol-Whipping" technique for the up tilt.
- Giving Someone the Pointer Finger: His forward tilt in V7, poking with his pointer finger. In V8 this is accompanied by a laserbeam.
- "Good Luck" Gesture: Does the classic thumbs up for his V7 taunt and his winpose, which can at best be interpreted as a show of good sportsmanship from this "god."
- Helping Hands: John Googly is a giant, disembodied hand just like Master Hand, only with googly eyes plastered on.
- Leitmotif: In V7, Jackal Queenston's "Rubber Band", AKA Penis Music.
- Physical God: They're one of the six gods of CMC+, which is reinforced by him being blatantly based on Master Hand, a Physical God in Smash Bros. canon.
- Secret Character: Notably one of the few characters that is immune to the "unlock all characters" cheat, which makes fulfilling his requirements mandatory to unlock.
- In V7, complete the "Race to the Finish 2" challenge as Rock Lobster.
- In V8, find all seven Dragon Balls in hard-to-reach locations in order to "revive" him.
