McLeodGaming (pronounced "McCloud") is an independent video game developer that works primarily in Adobe Flash, spearheaded and once solely employed by Greg McCleod (also known as Cleod9). It made its debut in the early 2000s with a number of TI-83 calculator games, including a primitive port of the Animal Crossing and Pokémon engines. It later expanded its library with flash animations and simple games.
In 2006, the developer made a name for itself by releasing its flagship game, Super Smash Flash, developed by Greg and a few of his friends in a few months as a personal project, hosting it on Newgrounds in August and getting a surge of unexpected popularity. The next year, development began on a much more complex sequel, Super Smash Flash 2, which has a very respectable amount of people working on it and is what they are most known for now.
