Characters / CMC+ - April Fools

Go To

This page is for CMC+ characters featured in the separate builds that have been released on April Fools' Day, generally featuring wackier and joke-ier characters than normal. If they debuted in other versions of CMC+ but have still been Adapted Out in the latest build, move them to the Other Builds section.

For coverage on fighters that originate from Crusade, whether altered or notnote , see here.

2020

    Darkpuff

Darkpuff

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/darkpuff_7.png

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade for Jigglypuff.

  • Charged Attack: Their Dash Attack side special is functionally similar to their vanilla side special: charging up in place to suddenly charge forward, with a strong hit also sending Darkpuff backwards.
  • Dash Attack: Their side special is a charging dash that is similar to their vanilla Rolling Attack... at least, at a cursory glance.
  • Evil Counterpart: With a name like Darkpuff, in addition to their darker, purple-like color palette and "sinister eyebrows" for the portrait, they're clearly meant to be an "evil" version of Jigglypuff.
  • Purple Is Powerful: They're re-textured from pink to purple, and they're far stronger than the Lethal Joke Character that is Jigglypuff.
  • Rubber Man: While Jigglypuff was this to an extent due to being a living balloon, this puff can stretch both their limbs and their whole body further for their side aerials, side tilt and down smash.

    Random Pokégirl

Random Pokégirl

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rpg_9.png

A random Pokégirl. And for some reason, they also have a sword as their sole attack.

  • Artificial Stupidity: Prior to the 2023 version release, the AI didn't seem to understand how their grid movement functions, only able to move left or right in the air while unable to go up or down — and that's the best case scenario, assuming they don't just get stuck one place. The new release would improve her AI to more effectively use the grid-based movement and subsequently fight.
  • Composite Character: While they're based on an NPC/Trainer in Pokémon, their sword attack (in conjunction with their unique movement) pulls from Link from the early top-down games.
  • Immune to Flinching: To coinside with their unique movement, they cannot be stopped by attacks or launched away. To compensate for this on the opponent side, getting her to 100% automatically KO's her.
  • Joke Character: She's a quirky fighter first and foremost; all their attacks (normal, special, and Final Smash) are the same sword stab, with strengths ranging from Scratch Damage, decent but slow, and Power Up Letdown.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: They don't abide by typical Platform Fighter movement mechanics. Instead, they strictly move around, regardless of gravity, to grid-based movements, like they're ripped straight from old Pokémon games. They're also Immune to Flinching, with the only way to take their stock is by getting their percentage to one hundred.
  • Scratch Damage: Her normal attack does a paltry 2% of damage.
  • Wink "Ding!": Their taunt has them face the screen to give a wink with a "bling!" sound effect.

    Ash

Ash Ketchum

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ashui_9.png

The main protagonist of the Pokémon: The Series... with the power of a Saiyan. He has two modes: Ultra Instinct by default, and a "Classic" mode where he's merely a Super Saiyan Pokémon Trainer.

    Kohaku

Kohaku

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kohakufish_4.png

A breed of fish... that is freely living on land, and is about a hundred times the size of a normal Kohaku.

    Thanos

Thanos

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snappythanos_1.png
Home Series: Marvel Universe
Debut: The Invincible Iron Man #55

Thanos, but different... and unbalanced beyond reason.

See CMC+ - Enemies for Thanos as an AI-Exclusive in CMC+.

    Gumba

Gumba

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gumba_6.png
Home Series: Super Mario Bros.

A Goomba who's drawn in a very deformed and crude manner.

  • Crippling Overspecialization: Their sole attack may be devastating to get hit by, with their not being a lot of options... but they equally have less options for trying to force a foe off the stage (something a Meteor Move would find ideal) or dealing with aggressive attacks.
  • Lethal Joke Character: Makes prior Stylistic Suck fighters look complete with their movesets, with Gumba only having forward air as a sole attack... which just so happens to be a Spam Attack that covers the whole screen and hits the foe with a constant spike attack.
  • Meteor Move: Their forward air, their sole attack, can spike foes... repeatedly.
  • Spam Attack: Forward air constantly hits the foe with a Meteor Move, result in 36 hits at most when using the attack and jumping offstage.
  • Stylistic Suck: They're a poorly drawn Goomba, with their name being appropriately altered in a crude manner. To say nothing of their one attack moveset.

    Toehoe (Classic)

Toehoe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/toehoe_old_8.png
Home Series: Touhou Project

A living Fumo, acting as a parodical depiction of Reimu Hakurei, firing an absurd amount of projectiles as their attacks.

See CMC+ - Enemies for their status as a Boss Fight in CMC+

    Megumin

Megumin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megumin_4.png
Home Series: KonoSuba

  • Awesome, but Impractical: Explosion is an incredibly powerful powerful attack... with the longest start-up, mostly consisting of Megumin chanting the spell. Mercifully for her, the AI generally stops in their tracks to let her cast it, and she can't be stopped upon using the move.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: True to form, she knows the high-tier spell Explosion... and lacks in any other form of offense to use in CMC.
  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: Explosion in canon comes with the drawback of draining Megumin's mana — and in extreme circumstances, her life force — resulting in Megumin passing out after each use. Here, she immediately loses a stock upon casting the spell.
  • Double Jump: Exaggerated. She has ten jumps in total, with each individual jumps being incredibly high.
  • Fantastic Nuke: Her Signature Attack, Explosion, casing a blast of fiery death ahead of her to deal ludicrously high damage that gets stronger at close range.
  • Limited Animation: What you see with her sprite is what you get for all her other animations aside from her Signature Attack.

    [Redacted]

[Redacted]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/redacted_4.png

A... Yoshi, we think. Except they're mostly Mach Rider for the moveset as a whole.

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade for Mach Rider and/or Yoshi.

  • Double Jump: They technically do have the flutter jump like Yoshi... but be prepared for it to fail you upon use.
  • Composite Character: Parodied. At face value, its a weird Yoshi. But seeing their moveset as a whole, its mostly Mach Rider, with him turning into an odd Marth for the grab and Krystal for the taunt.
  • Joke Character: It'd be a tough comparison to call them a Yoshi, as they're just Mach Rider most of the time, with the one Yoshi move featured (their Double Jump) actively harming them by effectively forcing them to fall instead of ascending.
  • Stylistic Suck: It's literally just Mach Rider with certain sprites re-textured to either Yoshi, Marth, or Krystal, with one of the functional changes actively nerfing them.

    Goten

Gottem

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gotem_9.png
Not pictured: Pachirisu.
Home Series: Dragon Ball (Goten)/F-Zero (Captain Falcon)/Pokémon (Pachirisu)

You thought you were gonna get Goten upon selecting them? Nope, have a Captain Falcon re-textured as a static Pachirisu image.

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade for Captain Falcon.

  • Bait-and-Switch: They're listed on the roster as Goten, complete with their character art. But then you play as them in battle to reveal they're not, which is punctuated by their name revealed on their percentage.
  • Foreshadowing: Goten sounds a lot like Gottem, making their bait particularly obvious if you somehow foresaw the word-play.
  • Meaningful Name: "Gottem" indeed.
  • Stylistic Suck: Their "sprite" is of Pachirisu's mugshot, one that isn't properly aligned with the Captain Falcon sprite-sheet.

    Looegee

Looegee

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/loigi.png

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade for the original fighter.

  • Deliberately Monochrome: They're predominantly depicted with a black color palette all over.
  • Energy Ball: Has the same Thunderhand projectile attack like Luigi, but it's tweaked to be incredibly fast, with incredibly high knockback scaling, meaning it'll kill at an incredibly low percentage (around 20%).
  • Meteor Move: Down tilt and up air is tweaked to spike foes hit, with Luigi's typical spike move, down air, loses this property in favor of inflicting a lengthy amount of hitstun.
  • Moveset Clone: They're a rip of Luigi's moveset, with the only key differences being his Energy Ball neutral special being buffed and his normals having unusual properties, a handful being broken.
  • Purposely Overpowered: While they appear like a standard fighter at a glance, a handful of his moves are tweaked to be insta-KO.
    • Taunt Button becomes a 999% attack upon landing the piddly kick.
    • Back throw's knockback got buffed to the point of sending the caught foe immediately to the blast-zone.

    Harambe

Harambe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/harambe_7.png

Based on an ape that gained infamous notoriety on the internet after his controversial death. They're a re-textured Donkey Kong that's been made Purposely Overpowered.

    Spoiler

Spoiler

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spoiler_30.png
On the character selection screen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spoiler_0.png
His VS portrait in Classic Mode pre-2024

A pink Knuckles who has a Sharingan eye. No, even we don't know what he is, but he's supposed to be a Walking Spoiler... supposedly.

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade for Knuckles.

  • Catchphrase: Exaggerated. The first line of Knuckles' theme "Unknown From M.E" is played for just about every attack he does.
    "HERE I COME"
  • Moveset Clone: Of Knuckles, as evident by some familiar special attacks underneath the static sprite.
  • Stylistic Suck: They're a static sprite overlayed over Knuckles' moveset.
  • Walking Spoiler: Parodied. There's no direct indication what he's spoiling, but he's treated as one to such an extent by both the April Fools buildnote  and the base gamenote  that his name is effectively just "Spoiler". There's also his sticker description, which gives us nothing much else in terms of an explanation.
Sticker Description: cmc v30 coming soon

    Oleva-Duo

Oleva-Duo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/olevaduo_1.png

Not just one Olevadon, but two!

See CMC+ - Original Characters for the original Olevadon as a standalone fighter.

  • Hammerspace: Where else do they put those Sniper Rifles?
  • In a Single Bound: Their up special, where they leap upwards thrice the height of a single jump.
  • Limit Break: The large Energy Ball the standalone Olevadon has as their alternate Final Smash, with it being possible for the second Olevadon to fire off their own as well.
  • Sniper Rifle: Both of them pull out a large rifle for their side special, firing a powerful long ranged shot.
  • Tag Team: Two fighters in one like the Sibling Team Ice Climbers, yet are individually strong, being even stronger together.

    Thwomp

Thwomp

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/thwomp_8.png
See CMC+ - Enemies for their status as a Boss Fight in CMC+.

  • Air-Dashing: Their attacks and cardinal special involves sending their weight towards a given direction, most prevalently in the air.
  • Ground Pound: Down air, sending Thwomp careening down, with it being one of the fastest air to ground aerials among CMC+ as a whole.
  • Practical Taunt: Using the taunt has Thwomp do an improved Spin Attack that can deal 80% of damage in one hit if it properly lands.
  • Shockwave Stomp: Merely landing on the ground causes any foes standing on the same stage to take damage and get launched upwards. It's a little inconsistent if it uses their Ground Pound attack, as this trope doesn't register otherwise.
  • Spin Attack: Their special input results in them rotating rapidly as a get-off-me attack, also doing the same for their Practical Taunt.
  • Video Game Flight: As Thwomps tend to do, it can float in the air by holding the jump button (but only for a limited time).

    G. Blanco

Gohan Blanco

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blanco_2.png
Home Series: Dragon Ball

  • Ki Manipulation: Being a Dragon Ball character, he's got a rapid fire Ki blasts fired rapidly from his hands for the neutral special.
  • Machine Monotone: Because he's voiced by a Synthetic Voice Actor, Gohan doesn't quite have the energy in his voice typically associated with most fighters in Dragon Ball, especially for whenever he grunts or "screams".
  • Mana Meter: Above his percentage is a meter that fills up by attacking and/or charging up with down special, with it fueling his neutral and side special.
  • Synthetic Voice Actor: He's voiced by a text-to-speech program, including for the grunts and screams.

2021

    Arbok

Arbok

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arbok_7.png

  • Assist Character: Summons two other Poison-type snake Pokémon, Ekans and Seviper, to help in the Wave-Motion Gun Final Smash.
  • Flechette Storm: Their neutral special is a cluster of purple needles summoned around them, then flung forward as projectiles.
  • Stylistic Suck: Their sprite-rip is of generally low quality, with green edges as a result of poor art tool editing and Limited Animation galore.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: Their Final Smash, conjuring a wide beam with the aid of Ekans of Seviper.

    Nietojuega

Nietojuega

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/unfellsans_8.png

  • Bad with the Bone: Being a Moveset Clone of Sans, their attacks consists of blue bones (assuming they aren't completely retextured).
  • Moveset Clone: Of Sans, sharing almost all of the attacks aside from neutral air.
  • Psychic Powers: Like with Sans, they can pull/push the foe across the stage/arena and slam the foe into the ground for two of their specials.
  • Stylistic Suck: Their sprite is basically the letter "N", with certain re-textured attacks being blatantly rough around the edges.
  • Words Can Break My Bones: Sans's side tilt for this fighter is re-textured to a row of letters travelling forward in a wave motion to inflict multi-hitting damage.

    Shedinja

Shedinja

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sato_shedinja_7.png
Sprite Origin: Txpot (M.U.G.E.N)

    Don't Touch Me

Don't Touch Me

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/o547_7.png

A One-Hit Kill button. It just goads you to touch it.

  • Artificial Stupidity: Not so much for Don't Touch Me, but for every other AI opponent; they'll keep attacking Don't Touch Me even with the blaring alarm sounding from the first hit.
  • Counter-Attack: Any attack touches them, the foe is defeated instantly, with some variety in what happens depending on what special they used.
  • Damage Over Time: They passively take damage over time, which is the only key way for this "fighter" to be beatable in any way.
  • Ditto Fighter: Downplayed. Their neutral special turns them into the opposing fighter, but without any of their attacks. This mostly serves to give Don't Touch Me a method of moving around the stage or get close to an opponent, as they are stationary otherwise.
  • Interface Screw: Touching it when its side special is active results in the screen either shaking and/or flipping upside down as an outcome.
  • One-Hit Kill: Most if not all outcomes of attacking Don't Touch Me results all foes getting KO-ed.
  • Shmuck Bait: With a name like "don't touch me", that's just asking for someone to try doing so, even if the results are obvious.
  • Swap Teleportation: Their up special has them swap with an opposing fighter, with the only limit being a cooldown.
  • Zero-Effort Boss: The trick to beating them is by heeding the advice of their name and not touch them at all, as they'll automatically lose a stock upon reaching 100% via Damage Over Time. Of course, they have the capabilites of getting close (See Ditto Fighter) and can inflict damage with down special in close-range, so it isn't a flawless victory, especially in more frantic group battles.

    Ramoba

Nitro Ramoba

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ramonanitro.png

See Ramona on the Other Media page for tropes pertaining to the original fighter.

  • Balance Buff: Exaggerated. The lag in Ramona's frame-data is reduced to practically nothing, in addition to most other movement stats being buffed higher than normal.
  • Purposefully Overpowered: She's capable of attacking ridiculously fast, double jumping infinitely, and cancelling her attacks without restraint.
  • Speed Blitz: She's basically a dedicated Smash Bros. Turbo Mode character with how incredibly fast each individual attack is.
  • Time Rewind Mechanic: Played with for her Final Smash. Using it suddenly cuts back to as if the match has started, complete with the loading screen beforehand. The only thing this does is reset the health of both opponents, with the fighter stocks/score remaining the same.

    Frisk

Frisk Undertale

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vilager_5.png
Home Series:
"Frisk": Undertale
Villager: Animal Crossing

Just Villager with a lot of memes associated with them, including Sans Undertale in their character portrait.

  • Action Bomb: Blows themselves up for the up special, with them not being worse for wear afterwards, assuming they weren't forced off-stage, due to having no recovery move.
  • Attack Reflector: Their down special is identical to Fox's shine attack, reflecting projectiles for as long as its active.
  • Composite Character: They're called Frisk, yet have the general appearance of the Animal Crossing Villager, one that has Sans' singular glowing eye in the character portrait and taunt. That's also not getting into the various memes that make up their moveset.
  • Everything's Better with Rainbows: With a wave of their stick for the side special, Frisk fires a Rainbow projectile that flies forward to inflict stun, complete with the voice-line "TASTE THE RAINBOW, MOTHERFUCKER!"
  • Parasol of Pain: Like with the vanilla Villager, Frisk makes use of their yellow umbrella for multiple attacks.
  • Shout-Out: Evidently, being a character that's less who he visually represents or who he's named after, "Frisk" features a lot of different memes in their moveset:
    • Their name, character portrait, taunt, and jump sounds all naturally come from Undertale.
    • Side tilt is accompanied by the Scout's "Bonk" voiceline.
    • Up tilt is accompanied by the faint voiceclip of "That's racist!"
    • Down tilt is a black textbox from the Discord app, complete with the notification "beep" sound playing.
    • Neutral special's piss attack is accompanied by the voice clip from Mario Pissing.
    • Down special is Fox's Shine attack... with visual's of Among-Drip upon use and Jerma985's "When the imposter is sus" face for as long as it remains active, all punctuated by the vine boom sound effect.
  • Toilet Humor: For the neutral special, Frisk tosses splatters of "piss" that acts like Mario's fireball; being a gravity-affected projectile attack.

    KFC

KFC Luigi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kfcigi_1.png

Luigi... as a chicken drumstick from Kentucky Fried Chicken.

  • Anthropomorphic Food: Its Luigi, but as a living chicken drumstick.
  • Bad with the Bone: By proxy of his lower half being the bone part of a chicken drumstick, his down tilt, back and down aerials are this trope by proxy.
  • Detachment Combat: The meat of his chicken detaches from his bone "legs" for his head to bash upwards in the up tilt.
  • Fork Fencing: Pokes a large fork forward like a fencing weapon.
  • Playing with Fire: Summons flames on both sides for the down smash.
  • Prehensile Hair: Uses their moustache as a substitute for an arm, "slapping" foes for the side tilt, forward smash and forward air, and using it to grab them as well.
  • Weaponized Headgear: His green cap pops off his head for up smash and up air.

    Shitass

Shitass

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shitass_9.png

The nicknamed Minecraft player in one viral video.

  • Fighting Clown: While certain attack are less this and moreso practical, he's still using oddball weaponry, pulling out an UNO +4 for his up tilt and forward air, and summoning other things/characters — such as an armor stand with his appearance for the side tilt and a buried villager for the down smash.
  • Flechette Storm: Summons several, gravity-defying arrows around themselves for the neutral special to send them forward.
  • Improbable Weapon User: While he's got some standard Minecraft items that are naturally used for weaponry, he's also got the non-standard shovel, hoe, and enchanted stick.
  • Shield Bash: Hoists their Minecraft shield upwards for the up air.
  • Shout-Out:

    Piggy

Penny Piggy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sato_piggy_5.png
Home Series: Roblox
Debut: Piggy

Based on the Roblox Survival Horror game monster, who's also based on Peppa Pig.

  • Batter Up!: Piggy's main weapon of choice is, like in her home game, a wooden bat.
  • Moveset Clone: Downplayed, due to their limited moveset making it not a proper one-to-one clone, but she has special moves and most of her attacks ripped from Rena Ryugu from her standalone Crusade mod/CMC+ inclusion.
  • Sinister Swine: They're named "Piggy" with an appropriate appearance, and they're an opposing character in a horror game.
  • Stylistic Suck: It's Piggy from the Survival Horror game, but with their head plastered on a low-effort sprite of her dress with arms. To say nothing of the green background that stretches out for her attacks.
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: Tosses a bloodied knife for their neutral special and an even larger knife after their down special Spin Attack.

    Expand Dong

Expand Dong

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dk_expand_8.png

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade for Donkey Kong.

    One Winged Kong

One Winged Kong

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dk_owa.png

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade for Donkey Kong.

  • Adapted Out: Come the 2023 edition, One Winged Kong is removed from the roster.
  • BFS: Wields Sephiroth's Masamune as his own for the normal attacks.
  • Composite Character: They're Donkey Kong, but with a dash of Sephiroth; the character image in the select screen depicting him as Sephiroth with Donkey Kong's face.
  • Moveset Clone: It's literally just Donkey Kong, but with an added sword to his attacks that give him a longer hitbox. His specials in particular are untouched.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Because of the sword, One Winged Kong averts Donkey Kong's Close-Range Combatant play-style, though certain attacks like forward smash remain largely effective at close-range.

    J. Barker

Junior Barker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/juniorb.png

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade for Mach Rider.

  • Abnormal Ammo: Fires a "gun" (no animation, but the sound effects sell the action) for the neutral special, of which fires more sprites of Junior Barker.
  • Hitbox Dissonance: Because of the Stylistic Suck of his fighter sprites, certain attacks have no visual reference of the kicks and punches, best showcased when playing on the Final Destination stage (which has the hitboxes on by default).
  • Stylistic Suck: It's just a portrait of the character overlayed over another existing fighter.
  • Vocal Dissonance: The prior fighter's voice is not changed in the slightest, resulting in the dog child speaking like a gruff, middle-aged man.

    The Duane

The Duane

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/duane_9.png
Sprite Origin: CaptainOwl (M.U.G.E.N)

  • Dance Battler: By proxy of being a gif of Duane from Barbie Dance Club, he perpetually dances to passively attack around himself.
  • Joke Character: No other attack to his name aside from his constantly active idle attack, but he lacks any other special abilities meant to aid him in other situations aside directly attacking the opponent.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: They have no other attacks aside from their constantly active one.
  • Stylistic Suck: They're a gif of Duane and nothing else in terms of animations.

    P. Oak

Professor Oak

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oak_8.png
Sprite Origin:
Professor Oak: Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen
Starter Pokémon: Pokémon Black and White

The Pokémon Professor.

  • Gameplay and Story Integration: Not counting the swapping Pokémon special move, each of the Mons featured have only four attacks, like the four move restriction in the mainline Pokémon games, and those attacks are of moves they can learn in the early stages before evolution.
  • Green Thumb: The Grass-Type Bulbasaur, flinging large razor leaves for their side inputs.
  • Making a Splash: The Water-Type Squirtle, firing a stream of water in an arc for the neutral input and a Bubble Gun for the down input.
  • Multiform Balance: Like Pokémon Trainer's Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard, each of Oak's Pokémon have their own moves that comes with different strengths and weakness's. Unlike the former, the Pokémon here are limited to only several attacks each, with Squirtle being the only one with a proper recovery move.
  • Playing with Fire: The Fire-Type Charmander, with three/fourths of their moves consisting of attacks of the same type.
  • Status Effects: Bulbasaur stuns the foe with the up input Stun Spore.
  • Swap Fighter: Like the Pokémon Trainer in official Smash, Oak has his own Pokémon to do the fighting for him, with him summoning Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle with down special, each with their own moves (though much more limited in comparision).

    Blade & Sonder

Blade & Sonder

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reunionfc.png

Two OC Sonic the Hedgehog characters, Blade the Hedgehog and Sonder Rickstorm, teaming up to fight together in the April Fools build.

For the characters as standalone fighters, see Blade and Sonder in the respective links.

  • Fire-Breathing Weapon: Sonder's Side Special, pulling out a flamethrower to shoot a stream of flames for as long as the button is held, with the attack gradually losing range until it's reduced to spewing smoke.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: They're like the Ice Climbers in terms of gimmick, but unlike the likes of Oleva-Duo in the same build, they're both completely different fighters. Furthermore, their roles are randomly chosen upon starting a match, with Blade having a favored chance of being the Player Character while Sonder seldomly gets chosen instead.
  • Puppet Fighter: Teaming up together Ice Climbers style, Blade and Sonder become a downplayed case. At random, either character takes the lead as the Player Character, while the second-half acts as the supporting fighter that attacks on a slight delay.
  • Super Mode: If Sonder's the lead and he uses his Final Smash, Blade gets his own Super form alongside him - making his red and blue coloration into gold and black. This same palette also gets used as an alt for his standalone part of the roster.

    Nintendo Wii

Nintendo Wii

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wii_1.png

The very console itself.

2022

    Yukkurisa

Yukkurisa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ciel_yukkurisa.png

  • Amulet of Concentrated Awesome: The Mini-Hakkero, Marisa's multi-purposed magic conjurer/blaster, is naturally used by her Yukkuri counterpart for the moveset, including for most of the throws and the Meteor Move down air.
  • Assist Character: Yukkuri Reimu herself shows up for Yukkurisa's up smash, remaining an active hitbox for a long while as they "chat" together.
  • Flying Face: Like Yukkuri Reimu before her, she's this trope by proxy of being a disembodied head depiction of Marisa.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Weaponizes mushrooms in several attacks
  • Weaponized Headgear: Pops their witch hat off their head for the up tilt, while the up air and up special has the hat take on a cone-like shape to act as a spike.

    Batman

Batman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agent5veg.png
Not pictured: Larry the Cucumber.
Home Series: Batman (Batman)/VeggieTales (Larry)

Batman! ...except this isn't him, but Larry the Cucumber in his LarryBoy persona.

  • Abnormal Ammo: Throws plungers as projectiles in his neutral special.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Playing as Batman is just too good to be true in Smash Bros, especially given this is from an April Fools release.
  • Counter-Attack: His down special is a standard counter move, with him headbutting foes in response to their attacks.
  • Rolling Attack: Curls himself forward to roll forward as his down tilt.
  • Use Your Head: Given that he's a living veggie with no limbs, he puts his noggin to good use, and not in the typical sense.

    Ganon

Ganondorf 64

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gg_ganon64.png

  • Background Music Override: His presence will overtake the music of any stage with the Elvis Crespo cover of "Cucui Ganon - Sauvemente."
  • Bait-and-Switch: At first glance on the roster, its normal Crusade Ganondorf, just called Ganon. But then you start a match and notice not only did the music's changed, his sprite looks a little different.
  • Dance Battler: They perpetually dance and nothing else, but they have an active hitbox for whenever they do the squat dance.
  • Leitmotif: Cucui Ganon - Suavemente (Elvis Crespo Cover)
  • Lethal Joke Character: He lacks all the standard attacks and specials; his only form of offense in his movement is also fairly weak, only doing four percent per hit. But what makes him oppressive is his passive ability to make the foe taunt constantly when near him, meaning he can shut down most Close Range Combatants and chip them down until he wins. It's a different story if a foe can out-range him.

    Kon

Kon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kon_mrnope.png

    Freddy

Freddy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/freddy_4.png

  • Composite Character: He is at base the haunted animatronic in canon, yet his moveset also takes cues from Five Nights at Freddy's World by featuring two of his attacks (Mic Toss and Pizza Wheel).
  • Edible Ammunition: Tosses several large pizzas in his side special, acting as projectiles unaffected by gravity.
  • Ground Pound: Down air has Freddy suddenly fall to the ground to slam it and any foe beneath.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Screeches into his microphone to cause a short-ranged offensive shockwave around himself.
  • Status Buff: Their down special doubles all the damage they deal for about ten seconds.

    Rosa

Rosa (KF)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rosa_82.png

Rosalina, but with a completely different style, both fighting and visual.

  • Bare-Fisted Monk: In contrast to her regular portrayal in Smash, she fights largely unarmed outside of her Star Power.
  • Counter-Attack: Counter down special; getting hit in the start-up state has Rosa retaliate with a leaping kick.
  • Dance Battler: Downplayed. She pirouettes as part of her rising up special.
  • Limit Break: Casts a stream of red star projectiles for her Final Smash.
  • Star Power: Being a cosmic entity of the stars, she naturally features stars in her special attacks — shooting a single star projectile, the foot end of her dashing kick having a star, and having stars orbit her for her ascent.

    W

Kamen Rider W

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agent5kamenriderw.png
Home Series: Kamen Rider

  • Arm Cannon: For their cardinal special forms, W fires energy blasts (or boomerangs) from his blaster arm.
  • Battle Boomerang: Their down input form equips their Arm Cannon with this, firing a projectile that goes in an arc.
  • Charged Attack: For each of the cardinal special forms, holding down the attack button results in a charged attack, often coresponding to the form.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Because of the unique Stance System, his limited arsenal, and a complete lack of a Double Jump that is also further crippled by a nerfed air-dash, W is screwed if he goes off the stage for any reason.
  • Dash Attack: One attack that remains consistent between forms is this, firing energy shots from their Arm Cannon while dashing forward. The only quirk is the non-standard dash making this attack harder to execute.
  • Gag Penis: Their character art shown in Classic Mode features a black bar protruding from their crotch, of which it is comically large.
  • Joke Character: Even when considering all of the different options offered by their Stance System, they're still an incredibly limited fighter with not a lot of options, in addition to their recovery being shot dead due to their lack of a Double Jump and an air dodge that forces them into freefall.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: All of their specials are dedicated to the Stance System, he has a dash ripped straight out of Mega Man X, he only has one single jump, and his attacks strictly revolve around this gimmick.
  • Stance System: A unique take on this trope is that their special move(s) are strictly dedicated to this; choosing a direction when pressing the special button turns W into four different forms:
    • Green and black, the default form. W is a Close-Range Combatant with only a two-hit jab and a hook punch, but has the highest jump of all the forms.
    • Yellow and blue, the up input form. W is equipped with an Arm Cannon that fires energy shots, with his Charged Attack being a large energy blast.
    • Red and white, the side input form. Same normal attacks as the above up input, but for the Charged Attack W fires a Sword Beam that's stronger than the up input form.
    • White and black, the down input form. W is equipped with a Battle Boomerang that's fired from his Arm Cannon, with him firing a larger Laser Blade variant for the Charged Attack.

    Lazer

Kamen Rider Lazer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agent5kamenriderlazer.png
Home Series: Kamen Rider

  • Crippling Overspecialization: All other inputs, aside from his shield button, are made into his taunt animation. He has no other options for offense, and the one input they have is limited due to not having a Double Jump. Not to mention the lack of recovery and air game, trapping Lazer ground-bound with no way to do the simple act of jumping on platforms without outside help, and dooming their stock if they're forced off-stage.
  • Cool Bike: They are the bike, so the fact they can transform into it just adds to the "cool".
  • Dash Attack: Their sole attack is effectively this in passive form, as the attack requires dashing to trigger the hitbox.
  • Transforming Mecha: They take the form of a motor bike most of the time, only changing back to a humanoid form in most other inputs aside from shielding/dodging.

    Wizard

Wizard

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cogu_wizard.png

  • Elemental Powers: Their spells include fire for the back air, and ice for the forward air.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Among all the traditional magic spell projectiles, the Wizard's down air is them dropping a rubber ducky, which quacks upon landing on a foe.
  • Magic Mushroom: Spawns a large mushroom that explodes several times for the down special.
  • Multi-Directional Barrage: Their down smash and neutral air has them fire small projectiles all around them to ward off foes. Their neutral special is a special case of this: spawning the multi-directional cluster a ways in front of the Wizard
  • Power Up Letdown: Their Final Smash? A single 5% attack with a thin hitbox that's likely to miss small/short fighters.
  • Spam Attack: Their jab and their tilts (aside from down input) are a constant stream of intertwining projectiles, which can go on indefinitely for as long as the attack button is held down.

    Kirby

Kirby

Its the pink puffball of Popstar, seemingly unchanged from their Crusade counterpart. That may be at a glance, but try swallowing an opposing fighter, and it becomes clear something's different.

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade for vanilla Kirby.

    Pokemon Trainer

Pokemon Trainer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pkmntrainer.png
Home Series: Pokémon

In General:

  • Broken Record: Get ready to hear the respective Pokémon cry for each Pokémon play repeatedly whenever they attack.
  • Meteor Move: Their up special ends with this, sending foes caught in the rising attack downwards.
  • Moveset Clone: All of this Trainer's Pokémon share the same normal attacks, non-standard Status Effect grab replacement, and functionality of the up special, with the neutral and side specials being the key differences in terms of mechanics.
  • Sizeshifter: Their sprites squash and stretches in a variety of manners, with up smash in particular making them miniscule until they suddenly grow huge for the attack.
  • Status Effect: Instead of a standard grab, they send out a toxic cloud that puts the recipient into the dizzy status for a brief moment.
  • Swap Fighter: A total of six Pokémon to play as, all swapped between via down special.

Haunter:

  • Casting a Shadow: They're a Ghost-Type Pokémon, with the side special darkening the screen upon landing the attack.
  • Poisonous Person: While primarily a Ghost-Type, they're also part Poison-Type, as evident by their neutral special being a poison glob like fellow Poison-Type Muk.

Muk:

  • Poisonous Person: They're a Poison-Type Pokémon, and they demonstrate this the most in their specials: spitting a glop of toxic sludge for the neutral input, leaving behind toxic clouds for the side input, and dripping poison from their liquid body for the up special.

Omastar:

  • Making a Splash: They're a Water-Type Pokémon, with them firing a stream of water bullets forward for the neutral special.
  • Dash Attack: Their side special is has them rushing forward to knock away any foes
  • Spam Attack: Holding down the neutral special results in a constant barrage of water bullets, .

Dodrio:

  • Fire, Ice, Lightning: Dodrio's side special is Tri Attack, attacking with the three elements as a hard-hitting Combination Attack.
  • Non-Elemental: They're a Normal-Type Pokémon, with their neutral special being a similar typed Fury Attack. Side special Tri Attack subverts this in terms of their abilities. note
  • Spam Attack: Neutral special is Fury Attack, with Dodrio rapidly attacking ahead of them for as long as the button is held.

Rhydon:

  • Dishing Out Dirt: They're a Rock/Ground-Type Pokémon, with them summoning rocks that fall from above for the neutral special.
  • Grapple Move: Side special has Rhydon charge forward to grapple any foe in the way, with them slamming the victim into the ground after leaping high into the air. Guarantee to invoke a Taking You with Me when successfully used and Rhydon has no ground beneath them when travelling downward.

Electrode:

  • Star Power: Uses Swift for their side special, firing multiple stars that fly in an irregular spread pattern.

    Yanchamaru

Yanchamaru

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ciel_yanchamaru.png

  • Context-Sensitive Button: Using down air at the right point above a platform will cause Yanchamaru to pogo off the ground, with him able to continue doing so with proper timing and spacing. The same can be said for its use as a Goomba Springboard,.
  • Goomba Springboard: Down air can spring off against foes if the brief hitbox successfully lands, with the move also working as a pogo stick off the ground.
  • Make Some Noise: Sends out soundwave projectiles for the jab, side tilt and neutral special.
  • Martial Arts Staff: Equipped with a staff that he uses not just for combat but also for pole-stick related uses, vaulting upwards in the up special, Spin Attacking, and pogo-ing off the stage/foes in the down air.
  • Slide Attack: Down tilt is a standard sliding kick.
  • Spin Attack: Down special; with their Martial Arts Staff planted into ground, Yanchamaru swings from it at rapid speeds to attack all around.

    Gura

Gura

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gura_97.png
Not pictured: the actual shark.
Home Series: hololive

The Virtual Youtuber Shark Girl... except it's the sprite of an actual shark.

  • Bait-and-Switch: So with Gura's breakout popularity among VTuber's and a huge source of memes right on debut, she'd naturally fit right in with this build and its general theme. Except trying her out reveals that she's less Cute Monster Girl here and moreso a literal shark with some passing ties to the original. Being the winner of a match as Gura presents her actual form in the victory animation.
  • Breath Weapon: Breathes fire at an angle for the up air and fires a beam from her mouth for the neutral special.
  • Explosion Propulsion: A random explosion happens beneath the shark to send them flying for the up special.
  • Fighting Clown: With the fact that she only fights like a shark for a move or two, and instead attacks in a variety of off-the-wall manners (fire-breathing, explosions, hand clap, etc), none of which reflect the actual Gura herself, ymthis trope definitely qualifies.
  • Making a Splash: Slamming the ground in the down smash result in a wave of water splashing all around her.
  • Shark Fin of Doom: Crouching results in the shark hiding into the ground, visually indicated by the shark fin sticking out.
  • Shockwave Clap: Two hands extend out of their backside for the up smash to clap several times, causing a small shockwave with each individual clap that launches foes on contact.
  • Suicide Attack: For the Final Smash, the shark cries for a bit before inexplicably exploding, maxing out the opposing enemies damage percent upon hit and losing her stock as a trade.
  • Terrestrial Sea Life: Gawr Gura (the original) has the excuse of being a Cute Monster Girl that's more human than shark. Aside from being able to phase through the ground like its water in their crouch, what's this shark's excuse?
  • Threatening Shark: She is a shark after all. Zig-zagged, as she's not strictly and/or necessarily threatening for the whole of this moveset, as she fights in either a mostly standard shark-like manner, or a non-standard Fighting Clown one.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: Tosses an exploding rocket for the down air. Their down special also has them toss some Trick Bomb variants — one that freezes, another that stuns with electricity, alternating between the two.
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: Tosses a knife forward/backward for the respective side aerials.

    Toad Man

Toad Man

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mash_toadman.png
Home Series: Mega Man (Classic)
Debut: Mega Man 4 (1991-92)

  • Homing Projectile: The missle fired from his side special has this function, immediately changing its directory upon getting in range of a foe.
  • Making a Splash: Being the water-based Robot Master of his respective debut game, in addition to his Animal Motif, he naturally manipulates water in his moveset. He shoots small but dense clusters of water in his jab and side inputs, creates a water spout in front of him for the up tilt, and spawns bubbles from his mouth in the down inputs.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Toad Man has the worst initial jump in the game, due to the lengthy wind-up animation of him crouching before jumping barely a few feet below his height. However, having him crouch before jumping, just like in the aforementioned wind-up, will instead cause Toad Man to immediately jump up high into the air; about half the height of their In a Single Bound special.
  • Sea Mine: Spawns one of these in his down special, remaining suspended in the air instead of in the ocean. It'll explode after a short while, but touching it naturally causes it to do so immediately.
  • Weather-Control Machine: His Final Smash is Rain Flush, barraging the whole stage and all opponents with harmful rain.

    God Help Me

Bowsette

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bowsette.png
Character Mod Origin: MrPr1993 (M.U.G.E.N)

Yep, that Bowsette.

  • Amazonian Beauty: Bowsette is a cross between Bowser and Peach, with the former's muscular build depicted as such and shown off in a Stripperiffic manner. Contrasting with Peach, who has a more slender and conservative appearance.
  • Ass Kicks You: Like with Peach, Bowsette uses her equivalent of the Peach Bomber side special, thrusting herself forward butt first.
  • Battle Intro: Appears on stage with her Pimped-Out Dress, only to discard it in favor of her stripperiffic appearance for the following battle.
  • Breath Weapon: Being Bowser, she breathes a stream of fire for the neutral special.
  • Composite Character: She's Bowser transformed into a Peach-lookalike, with her also being a mash-up of the two characters moveset wise.
  • Demoted to Extra: While she hasn't made any appearance in official CMC+ builds as depicted here, she at most is made into an alternate color for Peach.
  • Giant Woman: While she's an Amazonian Beauty in her typical state, Bowsette's Final Smash turns her into a small-scale case of this for a brief moment.
  • Ground Pound: Bowser's Bowser Bomb is also Bowsette's down air here.
  • Stripperiffic: This depiction of Bowsette has her shed Peach's gown in favor of a Black Bra and Panties combo upon starting a match.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Despite being an Amazonian Beauty that contrasts with Peach's appearance, they still use the latter's unaltered, high-pitched voice.

    Pepsiman

Pepsiman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pepsiman_9.png
Home Series: Pepsiman
Debut: Pepsiman Commerial #1 (1996)
Video Game Debut: Pepsiman (1999)

  • Death from Above: For their up tilt, a trash can falls from high above in front of Pepsiman to bludgeon any foe below it.
  • Grapple Move: Their side special, dashing through the air to grab a foe, tossing them upwards upon successfully doing so.
  • One-Hit Kill: Pepsiman's Final Smash. It only does Scratch Damage, but the high knockback straight upwards is guarantee to KO anyone not underneath a ceiling.
  • Slide Attack: His Dash Attack is the low-to-the-ground slide kick from the video game of the same name.
  • Teleportation: A standard teleportation move for the up special. Pepsiman vanishes then reappears upon using the move.

2023

    Moro

Moro Mata Memes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/morth_1.png

  • The Right Hand of Doom: One of their arms inexplicably grows muscles to be used for the charging tackle forward smash.
  • Power Up Letdown: Given that their own specials kill them instantly, it's to be expected that their Final Smash isn't much better at all.
  • Sizeshifter: Their sprite widens and shrinks for several attacks. In particular, neutral special result in them shrinking out of existence, losing a stock as a result.
  • Stylistic Suck: They're a voxel-styled sprite with no animations; only their sprite getting alter in a squash-n-stretch manner for their movement and attacks.
  • Suicide Attack: All their specials are a Played With example, they all don't do anything beneficial as an attack or move, but they all result in Moro losing a stock.
  • Use Your Head: Their sprites flip 90 degrees for the jab and side tilt to attack with their head.

    Charmy

Charmy Bee

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cake_charmy.png

  • Air-Dashing: Their sole attack is flying forward in eight cardinal directions.
  • Me's a Crowd: Summons multiple Charmy's for the Final Smash via the Chaos Emeralds, with them charging after the nearest foe one after the other.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Charmy's one of the smallest fighters in the roster, like in his debut game, and he's surprisingly oppressive with his sole attack.
  • When All You Have Is a Hammer…: With their only means of offense consisting of Air-Dashing, in addition to repeatedly cancel the attack into itself, Charmy is an incredibly oppressive force once he gets going with his assault.

    Jimmy

    The King

King Harkinian

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/king_mrnope.png
Mah boi!
Sprite Origin: The Answer (M.U.G.E.N)

The King of Hyrule in a non-canon series of Zelda games.

  • Adaptational Badass: While he is an Active Royalty, he never resorted to fighting with his own fists or boots in his home games, like how he's portrayed here.
  • Light 'em Up: Fires a beam of light, courtesy of the Triforce of Courage, from his hand for the side special.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Drinking from his wine glass, he lets out an offensive "OAH" soundwave around himself for the neutral special.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: His dash is a short-lived one that only sends him a short distance forward an forcibly stops his movement at the apex, like out of a traditional Fighting Game. Makes sense, given he is lifted from a M.U.G.E.N build that depicts them as such, but he's still standout among M.U.G.E.N rips for having this attribute retained.
  • Teleportation: His up special has him Instant-Transmittion as part of a standard Smash teleport move.

    Morshu

Morshu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/morshu_6.png

  • Adaptational Badass: He was just a shopkeeper who sell's Link items, yet here is an active combatant.
  • Ascended Extra: In prior version of the April Fools build, he was just a background cameo in the Morshu's Shop stage. Come the 2023 edition, he's been added as a fighter.
  • Assist Character: He's flanked by multiple characters from the CDI-games series for certain attacks.
    • Zelda, ahead of Morshu, stabs a lance upwards for the respective tilt attack.
    • Link uses his bare hands to shove any foe aside for the side smash.
    • King Harkinian raises his wine glass up high with a hearty laugh for the up smash.
    • Ganon fires bolts of electricity from his hands down around Morshu for the down smash.
    • Impa raises her Triforce of Wisdom above for the up air.
  • Belly Flop Crushing: Their down air and down special, the latter being the stronger of the two with more start lag.
  • Hitbox Dissonance: Most of the assist characters have their attacks active far earlier than they should.
  • Knows the Ropes: Swings a rope around for the neutral air, and throws a (deceptively powerful) one for the side special.

    Kang-Fu

Kang-Fu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kangfu.png
Home Series: Kang Fu

  • Battle Boomerang: Down special has them attempt to weaponize a boomerang, but there's no hit-box, only the animation of Kang-Fu throwing the boomerang while the spritesheet loads improperly.
  • Joke Character: Their... unique movement and jumping physics makes them nigh-impossible to play as. And even if you understand what not to do, they don't have anything good in regards to their attacks.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: For what it's worth, several instances of Stylistic Suck result in them being the only fighter who can shield and spot-dodge while in the air, and the ability to potentially survive a Star/Screen KO.
  • Stripped to the Bone: Their loss sprite in the results screen is of a kangaroo corpse that's been reduced to just bones.
  • Stylistic Suck: Makes prior fighters listed here with this trope look absolutely finished in comparison, to the degree that it's hard to tell if certain glitches related to them are actually deliberate or not. To elaborate:
    • Their slot in the roster is void of any mugshot, and the character art breaks the boundaries of the fighter box when trying to select them.
    • They lack in a lot of moves, and the few moves they have don't work at all.
    • Their sprite is a slightly stretched out version of their origin sprite that has green around the corners. The sprite sheet also gets loaded incorrectly when using down special, resulting in two Kang-Fu's.
    • Their movement abilities can lead to them randomly getting stuck in the air, while registering as if they're still on the ground. What's worse, it's entirely possible to play as other characters and gets some similar quirks until the game's reset.
    • Their Star KO goes on longer than usual, to the point of their sprite travelling further and further into the backdrop without the Twinkle in the Sky... and Kang-Fu respawns early as a result, only losing a stock if they choose to do nothing afterwards.
    • Their gun neutral special can only fire to the right, regardless of which way he's facing. To say nothing of the bullets being white boxes with the pellet in the center.
    • Actually trying to play them in a standard match renders them unable to act until hit.
    • Their sprite sometimes fail to load, while other times it loads a discolored version of the opponents sprite, with this possibly affecting other chosen fighters in subsequent matches.
  • Take That!: With the Stylistic Suck and their status as a fighter mentioned above, this all seems to represent the origin game and its reputation as an invokedObvious Beta.

    Face

Nick Jr. Face

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/golde_face.png
Home Series: Nick Jr.

The mascot of Nick Jr. from September 1994 to October 2004, singing songs and announcing upcoming shows on the Nick Jr. program. In the April Fools edition of CMC, Face makes an unexpected return.

  • Fighting Clown: They're a cartoony face that serves as the in-between for the various Nick Jr. shows, whose shenanigans in the CMC+ April Fools build include making faces, sneezing, "presenting" a saw and hammer, and washing themselves in a washing machine.
  • Grapple Move: Side special puts Face into a washing machine that travels forward, with it catching any foe in the way to give them a ride as well.
  • Ground Pound: Suddenly falls for the down air to slam the ground/foes beneath while bouncing off on contact.
  • One-Hit Kill: Their Final Smash, "The Big Moment", will instantly KO any fighters caught.
  • Sneeze of Doom: Their Down Smash, with the Face sneezing upon unleashing the attack, harming anyone nearby.

    Luigi

Luigi (AFK)

Home Series: Super Mario Bros.

It's Luigi... but he's doing absolutely nothing, and winning.

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade for an instance of Luigi actually doing something.

  • Gradual Regeneration: He regenerates his percentage by one percent per half a second for as long has he's doing nothing.
  • Lethal Joke Character: A Luigi who's unable to do anything? Sounds like a synch... on paper. His unique attributes actually make him unkillable, and letting him idle will have him regenerate his percent and eventually blow up.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: If (or rather, when) he stays idle and/or untouched for long enough, he'll spontaneously explode to get launched in a random direction, with him also exploding upon hitting the edges of the screen and solid parts of the stage.
  • Wins by Doing Absolutely Nothing: In reference to the Trope Namer, it's Luigi... but doing absolutely nothing, which works to his advantage due to being impossible to KO properly without some non-standard One-Hit Kill move, and his explosions help KO other fighters.

    Snick

Snick

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snick_8.png
Home Series: Pizza Tower
Debut: Pizza Tower - SAGE 2019 demo

Snick the Porcupine, a mascot of a series totally unrelated to another mammal with attitude. Snick was the secondary unlockable player character in the SAGE 2019 demo, only to be Demoted to Extra in the full release, yet he makes his redebut here.

  • Action Bomb: Forward smash turns them into a bomb that explodes after a second of activation. Snick can also move left or right for the duration of the move.
  • Charged Attack: Down special briefly turns him into Aluminum Snick to charge in place, with him dashing forward.
  • Composite Character: While he's already an Expy of Sonic, his portrayal here pulls from Sonic Colors with the Wisp power-ups, complete with the voice announcer.
  • Expy: Of Sonic the Hedgehog, which is reflected in this game by making him a partial Moveset Clone - sharing a majority of his moves.
  • Golden Super Mode: Like Sonic has his Super Mode as his Final Smash, Snick opperates in the same manner.
  • Shock and Awe: Electrocutes themself for the neutral air, inflicting any nearby foe with jolts of electricity.
  • Super-Speed: Side special has him do his equivalent of the Super Peel Out, charging up to dash forward at super speed.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Like how Snick played in the Sage 2019 demo, his dash starts off relatively slow, then quickly builds up speed in two stages, visually indicated by the Wheel o' Feet and Peel Out 8. In addition to the burst of speed gained from this, Snick gains Collision Damage for as long as he commits to the dash.

    Putties

Putty Patrollers

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/puttyfminus.png

  • Bare-Fisted Monk: Their prefered method of fighting: just punches and kicks.
  • Power Up Letdown: Their Final Smash merely takes away control from the main fighter, with the partner fighter free to act (outside of leaving the main fighter side, upon which they'll automatically walk back).
  • Puppet Fighter: Downplayed. They share the Ice Climbers' gimmick: two fighters, one that's the lead, another that attacks on a slight delay. And like with the Ice Climbers, it's possible to desync the two to have one perform a different action over the other.
  • Roundhouse Kick: Their down special.
  • The Unintelligible: They're mostly silent here, but for the taunt they speak up, giving out burbled noises like they typically do.

    MELEEFOX

Melee Toriah

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/meleefox.png

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade or their canon character page for how they are normally as a fighter.

  • Deliberately Monochrome: His sprite is altered to just be an overall shade of black.
  • Limit Break: Subverted, Fox doesn't use his Final Smash here, at most taking a stance as if preparing one, only for nothing to happen. Possibly justified, as the Final Smash mechanic didn't exist in Melee.
  • Moveset Clone: He's just a straight rip of vanilla Crusade Fox altered to be Purposely Overpowered.
  • Purposely Overpowered: It's just Fox McCloud depicted as if he's from Melee... except his damage output insane, even by the standards of Melee Fox.

    Pokemon

Porkyman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mons_8.png
The character select portrait is too large for this wiki. Here's the Classic Mode VS portrait instead. Ignore the silhouette of the Among Us character.
Home Series: Pokémon

It's the Pokémon Tsareena, but depicted prominently as a Dominatrix.

  • Crippling Overspecialization: Only one attack, no recovery move, it's either do or die with this fighter.
  • Cruelty by Feet: Tsareena's sole attack is trapping any nearby foe underneath the soles of their feet, upon which they'll repeatedly step on them to deal damage until launching them away.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": They're a Tsareena, but in the roster they are called, in the broadest sense possible, Pokémon (or the deliberate mispelling, Porkyman).
  • Dominatrix: Canon implies Tsareena to be a G-Rated take on this trope, so for the April Fools build, this is naturally the focus, with various voiceclips accompanying their stomp attack indicating an in-universe reaction to this.
  • Purposely Overpowered: If they land their only attack, the resulting knockback at the end will insta-kill any foe, despite not doing as much damage as other foes.

    Lupin the 4th

Lupin the 4th

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lupi3.png

Not to be confused with Lupin the 3rd.

  • Assist Character: Lupin can call upon members of his gang with down special:
    • Goemon Ishikawa prepares for an upcoming attack, responding with a series of samurai slices.
    • Daisuke Jigen walks up and prepares his gun to fire up to several bullet shots.
    • Fujiko Mine struts forward to blow a kiss that flies forward, inflicting any foe hit with a dizzy state, afterwhich she flees the scene in a motor bike.
  • Epic Flail: Flings a small spike ball flail forward for the down smash.
  • Killer Yo-Yo: Swings a Yo-Yo in a circular formation for the forward smash and back air.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: Throws a stick of dynamite that explodes on contact for the side special.

    Geats

Kamen Rider Geats

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/krgeats.png
Home Series: Kamen Rider

  • Diving Kick: His Final Smash, leaping up into the air to perform the trope popularized by his franchise. While a hard-hitting attack, it does run the risk of flying into the blast-zone.
  • Ground Pound: Down special in the air result in Geats descending to the ground incredibly fast to slam his hammer to cause a Shockwave Stomp.
  • Making a Splash: Their neutral special, firing eight water geysers, each in different cardinal directions.
  • Shockwave Stomp: With the aid of his hammer, he slams the ground below to cause a short shockwave ahead of himself.

    Jerma

Kamen Rider Jerma

  • Batter Up!: Swings a bat to send a baseball as a projectile for the neutral special.
  • Cast from Hit Points: Using the grounded down special results in Jerma taking 9% damage from a rocket.
  • Invisibility: Turns invisible for the grounded down special... which is then rendered moot when Jerma gets shot by a rocket from somebody offscreen.
Jerma: There is no concievable fucking way you would've known I was standing there.
  • Silly Walk: His walk cycle consists of him waving his arms in an exaggerated manner, while his run is the Airplane Arms from Naruto... while he's tip-toeing.
  • Spin Attack: Aerial down special result in Jerma ascending with his arms out like a helicopter, attacking anyone nearby.
  • Three-Strike Combo: His up special on the ground executes this automatically upon hitting a foe with the first hit, leading into three attacks punctuated by Jerma's voice lines.
    Jerma: Coffee, Cheetos, Chicken...
  • Weaponized Car: Rides a clown car for his side special, dealing multi-hitting damage.

    Mr. Beat

Kamen Rider Mr. Beat

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mrbeat.png

The mug/torso-shot of MrBeast.

  • Broken Record: For a majority of voiceclips, we have a deep, gravely voice repeatedly saying "Mr. Beast" for each individual attack, with the taunt in particular doing so for more several times.
    MISTER BEAAAAST
  • Counter-Attack: Neutral special; anyone that attacks him will result in him instantly recovering all of their damage.
  • Healing Hands: Mr. Beat offers a sandwich for the down special, with the resulting foe getting hit having their percentage healed.
  • Heal Thyself: Successfully landing the Counter-Attack results in Mr. Beat healing all of his percentage in one fell swoop.
  • Stylistic Suck: His sprite consists of Mr. Beast's torso shot.
  • Weaponized Car: Calls a taxi to drive across the stage for the side special, with it launching foes caught in the way of its route.

    MrBeast

MrBeast

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mrbeast.png

  • Lethal Joke Character: Most of the moves he has is a little underwhelming, with neutral special giving the opponent the opportunity to punish him after successfully landing the move, and down special requires the foe to be exceptionally close to get the most out of it. But his side special makes for an effective trap move, and his up special can KO surprisingly early off the top if the small hitbox is landed.
  • Trap Master: Places a 1000$ income car for the side special, with it remaining suspended in place until it despawns or a foe touches it, the latter resulting in it inexplicably exploding.
  • Trash Talk: His voiceclip for taunting:
MrBeast: You are in dead last.

    Chopper Man

Chopper Man

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chopperman.png

  • Close-Range Combatant: No options for range, with half of their specials meant for closing the gap and rushing foes.
  • Human Hummingbird: Flails their arms rapidly while dashing forward for their side special.
  • Rolling Attack: Down tilt and down special has Chopper roll across the ground.
  • Spin Attack: Their neutral air, rapidly spinning like a top.
  • Video Game Flight: Can hover in the air by holding down the jump button.

    Turbo DK

Turbo DK

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dkturbo.png

See Super Smash Bros. Crusade for vanilla Donkey Kong.

  • Balance Buff: Turbo Mode effectively removes the lag of all moves and speeds them up drastically. Not only that, Donkey Kong no longer goes into freefall after using his up special, making him free to use it repeatedly.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Take the normally hard-hitting, yet slow Donkey Kong, give him turbo mode, and you have a powerful and fast DK who still has the weight to withstand some punishment.
  • Purposely Overpowered: If being based on Turbo Mode - the ability to forego laggy frames in favor of instanteous attacks - isn't a sign of the fighter's tier placement, nothing is.
  • Speed Blitz: Courtesy of Turbo Mode, this DK's attack is fast enough that the foe has no hope of survival.

    Arche Klein

Arche Klein

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sato_arche.png
Home Series: Tales Series

The half elf from the past..

  • Casting a Shadow: Because of her flight mechanics being ripped from Shedinja's, she has the formers Shadow Claw tilt attacks.
  • Counter-Attack: Their down special, readying themselves against opposing attacks, and retaliating with an electric burst upon hit.
  • Immune to Flinching: Instead of shielding, she holds up her broomstick to guard, negating any hitstun and knockback yet taking the full brunt of the damage.
  • Flying Broomstick: How she flies perpetually in the air, with her also weaponizing it for her neutral and dash attack.
  • Video Game Flight: Perpetually flies in the air, unlike most fighters confined to the platforms.

    Veku

Veku

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/veku_justin.png
Home Series: Dragon Ball

Goku and Vegeta's failed attempt at a Fusion Dance into Gogeta.

  • Boisterous Weakling: This taunt voiceline exemplifies this, threating to use their Rabbit Feet Technique; IE, running away real fast.
Veku: You're asking for it! You give me no choice but to use my Rabbit Feet Technique!
  • Fusion Dance: Veku a fusion of Goku and Vegeta... but instead of Gogeta, he's an obese and weak fusion.
  • Golden Super Mode: They briefly transform into a Super Saiyan for the down special. But not as a transformation, but as a weak attack.
  • Ki Manipulation: Sends out a weak ki blast for his neutral special, with his Final Smash having him go Super Saiyan Blue to... send out an equally weak ki blast.
  • Teleportation: Instant Transmition for the up special.

    Dust's Wet Dream

Shaggy Ultra Instinct Using 2% Of His Power

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sato_uishaggy.png
Home Series: Scooby-Doo

Norville "Shaggy" Rogers, depicted as the memeticinvoked Ultra Instinct.

  • Charged Attack:
    • Shaggy's Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs is charged by holding the button down upon input, a charged version of the attack dealing more damage and sending Shaggy farther.
    • Passively, Shaggy's down special charges overtime, and once it's fully charge (indicated by the resulting Speed Echoes), his down special becomes bigger and more powerful.
  • Ki Manipulation: Naturally for Ultra Instinct. He's got some ki blasts fired in a Spread Shot manner for neutral special, and he can cause a large burst on the spot for the down special
  • Laser Blade: Conjures an energy blade in hand for his forward smash and down air.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Shaggy lets out a screech for his down smash, creating a short shockwave.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: A charged variant for his side special, unleashing a flurry of punches that propel him forward.
  • Speed Echoes: Shaggy is trailed by afterimages as he moves once his down special is charged.
  • Willfully Weak: As his title suggests, it's not just Shaggy Ultra Instinct, it's him using just 2% of his power.

    CMC

CMC

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cmc.png
Not pictured... ponies.

It's the members of CMC, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo... What? No, were talking about the Cutie Mark Crusaders, not Crusade Modding Community.

  • Assist Character: Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle are along the ride with Apple Bloom, but they only provide moral support; not doing much on their own.
  • Bait-and-Switch: They're depicted by the CMC logo on the character select, but it's revealed to be a different acronymn when selected in a match.
  • Counter-Attack: Down special; hitting Apple Bloom in this state results in a creepy image of Princess Celestia showing up (complete with dramatic music) as the foe is assaulted with a large amount of damage.
  • Grapple Move: Side special; with Apple Bloom leaping forward to latch onto any foe to deal damage.
  • Gratuitous Japanese: Inexplicably gives a japanese voiceline of "It hurts!" upon getting KO-ed.
  • Shockwave Stomp: Apple Bloom jumps up and slams the ground with her hooves for the neutral special.
  • Spin Attack: Rapidly spins in place in a forward motion for their normal attacks.
  • Stylistic Suck: Their Final Smash is a straight rip of Rika Furude's own Final Smash, both asset and sprite-wise.

    Crankyursidae

Chibidafox Crankyursidae

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crankyursidae.png

  • Balance Buff: Their walk speed is made to be as indistinguisably fast as their running speed.
  • Hitbox Dissonance: Because they're a moveset rip of Fox with the same hitboxes, and an altered sprite that doesn't line up with said hitboxes, you've got stuff like Chibidafox hitting their opponents a foot or two ahead of them and deadzones behind them in their down air.
  • Moveset Clone: Of Fox McCloud. They have the same normal moves (not visually, but hitbox-wise it's the exact same), they got the same specials (Blaster, Fox Illusion, Fire Fox, Reflector), even having the Landmaster.
  • Stylistic Suck: They're a simplistic sprite that mostly extends their hand for their attacks, and that's without mentioning the walk/run cycle misplacing the legs of their sprite below where they should be touching the ground.
  • Wreathed in Flames: Up special; building up flames upon input to charge in a chosen cardinal direction.
