Royal Woods

The L.O.U.D. Initiative:

    In General
  • Adaptational Badass: Considering each of them now has superpowers, this is a given.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Due to each of them being orphans adopted by different families, while all of the "siblings" keep their first names, their last names are changed.
    • Lori and Leni both have the last name Lavigne, as they both know they are sisters and are in the same family.
    • Luna's last name is now Morrison as she was adopted by Chunk.
    • Luan's last name is now DiAngelo.
    • Lynn's last name is Ortega, but as of now, it's unknown how she got it.
    • Lincoln's last name is McBride as he was adopted by Howard and Harold.
    • Lucy goes by the title "Sister Lucy" due to being raised in a sanctum.
    • Lana is the only one whose name has changed entirely, now being La'Nah, though sounding similar to her canon one.
    • Lola's last name is now Yates.
    • Lisa doesn't have a last name, as according to Word of God, she was never adopted.invoked
    • Lily is the only one who averts this by keeping her full name from Canon.
  • Conveniently an Orphan: All of them were orphans before being adopted by their respective families.
  • Mysterious Past: All of the "siblings" have a very mysterious past that serves as one of the biggest mysteries of the verse.
  • Superheroes Wear Capes: Varies depending on which hero. Luna, Lincoln, Lucy, La'Nah, and Lola wear capes for their superhero costume while the rest don't.
  • Unrelated in the Adaptation: They're not siblings in this universe, instead being orphans who were adopted into different families. The only exceptions are Lori and Leni, and even then they're sisters through adoption, not by blood.

    Lori Lavigne/Nova

Lori Lavigne/Nova

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lori_nova.png

Species: Metahuman

Appearances: Ace Savvy: A New Hope | Nova: Homecoming

  • The Ace: Nova is the most powerful of the heroes, as well as the oldest and most experienced, so she definitely fits this role.
  • Alliterative Name: Lori Lavigne.
  • Big Good: Lori, so far, is playing this role, with her being the oldest and most experienced hero of the main ones after Ace's death and the one who helps the current Ace (Lincoln) out a lot.
  • Blue Is Heroic: Blue is one of her primary colors, and she's The Ace of the heroes.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Lori, for better or worse, feels like she needs to be a hero and help out in any way she can.
  • Flying Firepower: Not only can she fly, but she can also shoot energy weapons if necessary.
  • Heroism Won't Pay the Bills: This more or less form the bulk of her problems in Nova: Homecoming; she's a superhero operating in Royal Woods, where superheroes don't get paid a lot. While it's not specified how much she's actually paid, this doesn't change the fact she's stuck in a lot of debt, to the point she's considering moving out.
  • Shout-Out: Her name is a clear one for the Marvel superhero, also named Nova.
  • Sibling Team: She and Leni are siblings who also happen to be hero partners.
  • Superpower Lottery: While not all her powers have been shown, Nova has quite an array of powers, including the ability to fly, shoot energy weapons and move at super speed while flying. Considering she is the most powerful of the main heroes (except maybe Lily) this is to be expected.

    Leni Lavigne/Eclipse

Leni Lavigne/Eclipse

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leni_eclipse.jpeg

Species: Metahuman

Appearances: Ace Savvy: A New Hope | Nova: Homecoming

  • Adaptational Intelligence: This version of Leni is overall much smarter than her canon counterpart, though she still does have her ditzy moments.
  • All-Loving Hero: Like her canon self, Leni tries to help out as much as she can and always sees the best in people. In this case, it's combined with her being an actual superhero.
  • Alliterative Name: Leni Lavigne.
  • The Empath: Leni can feel other people's emotions, which she uses to sense how Lincoln is feeling after Ace Savvy's death and later uses this to figure out his secret identity.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Leni is not made aware of how many money problems Lori is having, as Lori can't bring herself to tell her.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Alias, in this case. Her superhero name is Eclipse, which brings to mind somebody whose powers related to night, or at least twilight. Instead, she's The Empath.
  • Psychic Powers: Her main superpowers.
  • Secret-Keeper: Thanks to her powers, she ends up learning Lincoln's identity as the second Ace Savvy.
  • Sibling Team: She and Lori are siblings who also happen to be hero partners.

    Luna Morrison/Power Chord

Luna Morrison/Power Chord

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/luna_chord.jpeg

Species: Metahuman

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: While Luna in the series did have her moments, in this verse she is full of self-loathing about basically everything related to her, especially the fact she is a metahuman.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: In this verse, Luna is much less cheerful and much more cynical and sad. Though she is a good person overall, she is also much rougher around the edges.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • Tabby in the verse is her adopted sister, unlike in canon where they are only friends.
    • In this verse, Chunk is her adopted father, whereas, in canon, Chunk is her helper.
    • In the series, Luna and Carol don't know each other as far as we have seen. In this verse, Luna has a crush on her and later becomes friends with her.
  • Character Development: Luna grows in Power Chord: High School Musical to accept herself more for who she is and not hate herself as much.
  • Gayngst: Luna gets quite a bit of this due to her fear of Carol possibly being straight and getting rejected as a result.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Luna is not a bad person by any means, but this doesn't mean she won't get up and dirty if need be.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Subverted. Luna and Sam initially come across this way, which is different from canon where they are a couple. It is later revealed, though, that they were initially in a relationship but decided to break it off.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Luna despises her abilities and wishes she hadn't been born with them. She tries to actively suppress them as well. She does eventually step up to help stop Luan but it is made clear she is still not very cool with the idea of being a hero.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While Luna can act cold towards other people, it is made quite clear that she does care about her friends.
  • Just Friends: In the past, Luna and Sam were in a relationship, but decided after some time to remain friends.
  • Missing Mom: Luna has experienced this twice. First, her biological mother abandoned her, according to Luna, and then she lost her adoptive mother during a robbery gone wrong, which she witnessed.
  • The Power of Rock: She uses music to do a bunch of different things, including sending out sonic booms, making people fall asleep, and creating a radar.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Unlike Tabby, Luna hates her powers and wishes she had never had them.
