The Edolas War begins in the E-Land Amusement Park, where Dante does battle with Nelo Angelo, and Natsu, Modeus, Lucy and Lisanna fight Hughes, who has control over everything in E-Land. Meanwhile, Lady and Gajeel fight Panther-Lily to save Fairy Tail and stop Code: ETD.
- Achievements in Ignorance: Hughes discovers Natsu's motion sickness after trapping him on a Hell Coaster.
- Adapted Out: Natsu was not thrown into the costume box by Lucy.
- Agony of the Feet: Poor Coco is subjected to this by Faust when she refuses to give up the key. Made worse by how she typically loves to run.
- Amusement Park of Doom: E-Land acts as this thanks to Hughes' wand giving him complete control over everything within.
- Bad Boss: Faust is perfectly willing to sacrifice Panther-Lily for his goals and harm Coco when she tries to stop him.
- Bash Siblings: Gajeel and Lady fight quite well together against Panther-Lily.
- Battle Aura: Natsu manifests such an intense aura of flames that the monsters Hughes summons refuse to fight him, and the Edolas Captain outright flees in terror.
- Beware the Silly Ones: Despite their respective demeanours, Hughes and Sugarboy manage to give Fairy Tail and Nelo Angelo a decent challenge once the battle begins.
- BFS: Panther-Lily's Busterman sword, which can grow even larger, to the point Happy estimates it's about four times the size of Rebellion.
- Blood Knight:
- Rather than worried, Nelo Angelo is excited that Dante and Fairy Tail got their demonic and magical powers back, admitting that slaughtering the weak got boring very quickly.
- Gajeel and Lady both enjoy their fight against Panther-Lily.
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: Happy gives a presentation on Panther-Lily's Busterman being four times the size of Rebellion, and is interrupted by Gajeel yelling the audience just wants a fight.
- Bring My Brown Pants: Natsu's Battle Aura demonstration leaves Hughes very close to wetting himself in fear.
- Burning with Anger: Done literally by Natsu once he decides he's had enough, manifesting a blazing Battle Aura in the form of Igneel, sending Hughes fleeing in fear.
- Comical Angry Face: Lucy and Lisanna's reactions to Natsu constantly swapping their outfits between skimpy options.
- Cosmic Motifs: Modeus' attacks are all moon themed.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Natsu and Modeus against Hughes' horde of monsters ends with the Fairy Tail members not so much as scuffed, and the latter scared witless.
- Deadpan Snarker: Nelo Angelo shows that he is indeed made from Dante's essence.(after Hughes and Sugarboy attack him)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am sensing some hostility here. - Didn't See That Coming: Despite expecting the plan to fail, Modeus was surprised that Hughes reacted to Lucy and Lisanna trying to distract him with their swimsuits by siccing monsters on the two.
- Enemy Mine: Lisanna offers to form one with Hughes and Sugarboy against Nelo Angelo. They refuse out of pride.
- Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Nelo Angelo is puzzled as to why Fairy Tail would try to save Edolas give what a Crapsack World it is.
- Evil Laugh: Nelo Angelo gives one as he fights a freshly repowered Fairy Tail.
- Exactly What I Aimed At: Inverted. Nelo Angelo congratulates Hughes for hitting Fairy Tail with a boat after narrowly dodging, only for the Smug Snake to yell he was aiming for Nelo Angelo.
- Failed a Spot Check: Lucy keeps running from the monsters long after they've stopped chasing her.
- Force and Finesse: Natsu and Modeus are this respectively. The former is a Hot-Blooded Idiot Hero who fights with hand to hand supplemented by his highly destructive Fire Dragon Slayer magic, and throughout the chapter tanks a great deal of damage before casually manhandling his opponent. By contrast, Modeus is a levelheaded Martial Pacifist who Dual Wields swords and uses precise attacks to dispatch projectiles and opponents before they can reach him.
- The Gadfly: Natsu subjects Lucy and Lisanna to several embarrassing costume changes for a quick laugh, only cutting it out when they yell at him.
- Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: Fairy Tail are unable to wrap their heads around Nelo Angelo killing people for fun or treating loss of life so callously.
- Good Colors Evil C Olors: Dante, Natsu, Gray, and Modeus are associated with red, orange, cyan, and silver respectively, in contrast to Nelo Angelo's dark blue lightning.
- Heart Is an Awesome Power: Sugarboy's sword softens anything it touches, which lets him trap several members of Fairy Tail by affecting the ground and renders Gray's Ice-Make useless against him.
- Home Field Advantage: Hughes can control anything in E-Land, giving him an immense array of options.
- Idiot Hero: Natsu takes a moment to admire the Hell Coasters ability to manifest their own tracks as they run, and wastes several minutes with the clothes swapping machine to mess with Lucy and Lisanna.
- Lack of Empathy: Faust has no care even for those within his inner circle, choosing to sacrifice the loyal Panther-Lily without a moment's hesitation.
- Let's Get Dangerous!:
- Natsu decides he's had enough of Hughes , and the resulting demonstration of power has the latter fleeing in terror, his monsters refusing to fight him.
- At the end of the chapter, Dante breaks out his Devil Trigger.
- Mêlée à Trois: Between Fairy Tail, Nelo Angelo and the Edolas Magic Force Captains.
- Muscles Are Meaningful: Zigzagged. Natsu is visibly muscular, but much less so than Frank, and manages to easily overpower the latter.
- Normal Fish in a Tiny Pond: Downplayed by Nelo Angelo. He himself admits the lack of other wizards or demons in Edolas is largely why he went virtually unchallenged in his time there, but he still manages to break even with Dante after the latter has regained his powers.
- Not Distracted by the Sexy: Hughes reaction to seeing Lucy and Lisanna in skimpy bikini's? To sic a horde of monsters on them without batting an eye.
- Not So Stoic: Modeus is visibly flustered upon seeing Lucy and Lisanna in skimpy outfits.
- Point of Divergence:
- Instead of Gray helping her out, Lucy gets out of the softened ground thanks to Lisanna using her Harpy Soul. The latter also joins the former in being subjected to constant clothes changes and being chased by Hughes' monsters.
- Natsu's speech about the value of life is given to Nelo Angelo instead of Hughes.
- Lady joins Gajeel and Happy in the fight against Panther-Lily.
- Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: Natsu gives a chilling "My turn" before his Let's Get Dangerous! moment. Subverted in that Hughes flees, no asskicking needed.
- Pretty Boy: Modeus is called this by Hughes.
- Reluctant Fanservice Girl: Lucy is subjected to this as per usual, with poor Lisanna being caught up in the chaos as well.
- Ship Tease: Lisanna blushes when Natsu stares at her in a genie outfit.
- Skewed Priorities: After his plan for Lucy and Lisanna to distract Hughes fails, Natsu is more upset by the fact that the two can't keep acting cute than he is by them being chased by monsters.
- Super Mode: Dante decides to break out his Devil Trigger against Nelo Angelo at the chapter's end.
- Tempting Fate: Lucy remarks she can finally catch a break... right before Coco runs into her.
- Underestimating Badassery: Once again, the Edolas Magic Force Captains severely underestimate the power of Earthland mages. Even worse they assume they can take Nelo Angelo on while fighting aforementioned wizards, despite knowing exactly how dangerous their one time ally is.
- Villain Has a Point: Nelo Angelo's confusion at Fairy Tail trying to stop him unleashing Mundus on Edolas is mostly rooted in Evil Cannot Comprehend Good, but he makes the valid point that Edolas as a whole is a Crapsack World full of people they'd have no issue seeing bite it. They refute that there are good people living there who would be caught in the crossfire.
- Weaksauce Weakness: Natsu's motion sickness once again rears its head when Hughes traps him on a Hell Coaster.
- Worthy Opponent:
- Lady and Gajeel both regard Panther-Lily as one, complimenting his skill with Busterman.
- Nelo Angelo relishes his fight with Dante.
- Would Hurt a Child: Faust has no issues harming Coco to get her to give up the key.
