Justice League

Appearances: Green Lantern: Beware My Power | Legion of Super-Heroes | Justice League: Warworld | Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths

A team of superheroes who defend the Earth, formed after a misadventure had the Flash encounter the Justice Society.

    In General
  • Adapted Out: In Beware My Power the Justice League has seven members like the original team in the comics, but in this version Aquaman and Hal Jordan are apparently replaced by Vixen and Green Arrow.
  • Alternate Self: Act as an equivalent to the Justice Society of Earth-2, who inspired the Flash to form a team on Earth-1.
  • Ambiguous Situation: How long the team has been active is unclear, since the films prior to Beware My Power showed the heroes being recruited while that film showed several of them working together in the Watchtower.
  • Home Base: The Watchtower is this for the League.
  • Noodle Incident: How the team was formed and how long they've been active is left unknown when the team appears in Beware My Power. However, Crisis would confirm that they formed shortly after the events of The Long Halloween to combat Amazo, with Batman quickly creating the Watchtower and Hall of Justice.

Kal-El / Clark Kent

"My name is Kal-El of Krypton, and I come in peace."
As Clark
As the Flying Man

Species: Kryptonian

Appearances: Superman: Man of Tomorrow | Justice Society: World War II | Legion of Super-Heroes | Justice League: Warworld | Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths

Voiced By: Darren Criss

An alien working at the Daily Planet while also operating as the hero known as Superman.

  • The Ace: Subverted so far which is strange for the character, as in the four fights he has been shown in so far he always ended up needing help. While he beat Lobo it was only after Martian Manhunter distracted the bounty hunter, Parasite almost killed Clark and only left after draining J'onn of his powers, the second fight ended with Parasite sacrificing himself and without the Flash he would have been killed by Brainiac's kryptonite bullet. This is finally averted in his fight with Solomon Grundy, who he defeats on his own outside of some brief help from Batman.
  • Adaptational Wimp: This version of Superman has so far never won a fight without help. Sort of averted in Legion of Super-Heroes, as while Batman does help Superman is the one to defeat Solomon Grundy.
  • All-Loving Hero: As he points out near the end of the film, Parasite would have also absorbed his heart as well as his powers. However, since Parasite attacks him soon after it appears it wasn't enough.
  • Alternate Self: Has one on Earth-2 while Ultraman of Earth-3 acts as his equivelant in that world.
  • Appropriated Appellation: Lois is the one to come up with the name Superman even before he adopts his classic outfit, and Clark at first agrees with Perry that It Will Never Catch On. However he eventually comes to accept it as his codename and introduces himself as that when he comes to ask Lex for help.
  • Badass Cape: Both himself and his mother think capes look cool, having been inspired by Batman who also wears one.
  • Beta Outfit: His Flying Man costume is simply a helmet with goggles and a leather jacket. He tried adding a cape but it couldn't withstand the speed he moved at while flying.
  • Clark Kenting: He changes his hair style while as Superman, and acts more confident than he does as Clark.
  • The Cape: Since he's just starting out he isn't as confident as most versions, but he is still very much this.
  • Flying Brick: Mainly relies on his strength and flying abilities, though he has been shown to be creative with things like his heat vision when physical strength fails him.
  • Foil: Clark is a Human Alien who was Happily Adopted by a human couple as a baby and has an idealistic belief that humans and aliens could coexist, which greatly contrasts the more cynical Martian Manhunter who has to shape shift to hide his true form and came to hide on Earth as an adult.
  • Full-Frontal Assault: During his fight with Lobo his Beta Outfit gets completely destroyed leaving him naked by the end.
  • Happily Adopted: He loves his adopted parents and goes to them for advice.
  • Human Alien: Looks exactly like a normal human.
  • Humble Hero: Despite having the powers of a god, Clark is fine with working as an intern where he does little more than getting coffee for people and never uses his powers to try and make himself feel stronger than anyone.
  • Interspecies Adoption: Despite being a kryptonian he was raised by humans.
  • Interspecies Friendship: Has this automatically with everyone due to being the only kryptonian seen so far, from his childhood friend Pete Ross to characters like J'onn and Lois.
  • Last of His Kind: Lobo has come to hunt him for being the last kryptonian, but at the end of the film mentions that every creature he hunts is the last of its kind as it means he can get paid more. Legion of Super-Heroes reveals that he does in fact have a cousin who is still alive.
  • Nerd Glasses: He wears thick black glasses.
  • Noodle Incident:
    • Flash's comments to the Earth-2 Superman reveal that he has already met his Superman before Brainiac's attack in Justice Society: World War II, and knew a bit about Clark's background.
    • Crisis reveals that at some point he met Batman and both learned the others secret identity prior to the Justice League forming. It also establishes that at some point he revealed his identity to Lois.
  • The Paragon: He thinks he can be this and inspire humanity to not fear aliens.
  • Primary-Color Champion: Wears a bright red, blue and yellow costume.
  • Raised by Humans: He was raised by two farmers in Kansas while he is an alien.
  • Superheroes Wear Capes: Both Clark and Martha Kent are inspired to give him a cape because Batman has one.
  • Superpower Lottery: As per usual for the character.
  • Two First Names: Both Clark and Kent are used as first names.
  • Wide-Eyed Idealist: While aware of the dangers he does believe that he can change things for the better, which the more cynical Martian Manhunter notes.
  • Working-Class Hero: He grew up on a farm and unlike most versions who usually become a reporter not long after finishing college, this version had to become an intern to get the chance to work at the Daily Planet.
  • Younger and Hipper: In comparison to his preceding DCAMU counterpart and previous adaptations, as he's shown to be an intern at the Daily Planet in Man of Tomorrow while other versions generally just show him joining the Planet as a reporter.

    Martian Manhunter

J'onn J'onzz

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/martianmanhunter_mot.jpg
True Form
Human Form

Species: Martian

Appearances: Superman: Man of Tomorrow | Green Lantern: Beware My Power | Justice League: Warworld | Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths

Voiced By: Ike Amadi

The last Martian who has been hiding on Earth.

  • Alliterative Name: His name is J'onn J'onzz.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Despite leaving in search of more Martians at the end of Man of Tomorrow, Beware My Power shows him as a member of the Justice League while Crisis would reveal that he returned to Earth for unknown reasons and started living a human life before being recruited to form the League.
  • Badass Cape: Which he seemed to base on Superman's costume.
  • The Bus Came Back: He returns in Beware My Power after being absent in the previous two installments.
  • But Now I Must Go: He leaves Earth to go searching for other Martian survivors, though he has returned and joined the Justice League by Beware My Power.
  • Commonality Connection: Has this with Superman as they are apparently the last surviving members of their species, and tries to have this with Lobo only for the bounty hunter to joke that he killed his species.
  • The Cynic: Unlike Superman he believes the best thing they can do is hide and survive as long as they can, since if they die their species are officially extinct.
  • Death by Adaptation: He dies destroying Warworld.
  • Demoted to Extra: After a main role in Man of Tomorrow, his return in Beware My Power was little more than a cameo since all he really does is convince Green Arrow to work with John Stewart.
  • Foil: J'onn is a cynical alien who has to hide what he is using his powers in fear of the hatred his presence would bring out in humanity and came to hide on Earth as an adult, which contrasts the Human Alien Superman who was Happily Adopted by a human couple as a baby and has an idealistic belief that humans and aliens could coexist.
  • Last of His Kind: He thinks he's the last Martian, though Lobo says he's met a few others throughout the universe.
  • Superheroes Wear Capes: He was seemingly inspired to have one by Superman's costume, who in turn was inspired by Batman to wear a cape.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Being tortured by Mongul on Warworld seemed to have done this, as he doesn't see any problem with killing innocent people as long as he destroys Warworld.

    The Flash

Barry Allen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barryallenflash.jpg
As Barry

Species: Metahuman

Appearances: Justice Society: World War II | Batman: The Long Halloweennote  | Legion of Super-Heroes | Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths

Voiced By: Matt Bomer

A forensic investigator who operates as superhero called the Flash.

  • Alternate Self: Subverted as he and Jay Garrick are two different people who happen to have the same powers and codename. The same is also the case for Johnny Quick on Earth-3.
  • The Cameo:
    • In The Long Halloween, he appears alongside Green Arrow to tease the Justice League for a future film.
    • In Legion of Super-Heroes he appears late for the fight against Solomon Grundy.
  • Dimensional Traveler: Because of the Speed Force he is able to travel across universes.
  • Foil: Both Barry and Diana are too absorbed in their work to focus on their lives outside of being heroes, to the chagrin of their significant others. Steve constantly proposing to Diana and dying before she can ever accept, thus leaving Diana alone after the war is contrasted at the end with Barry successfully proposing to Iris.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He's a superhero with blond hair.
  • Hero of Another Story: From the perspective of the JSA, he's a visitor from an Alternate Universe who has been a superhero for a few years and helps them foil a Nazi plot.
  • The Masquerade Will Kill Your Dating Life: Downplayed as Iris knows he is the Flash and is accepting of it, but Barry is reluctant to fully commit despite dating for years out of fear of what would happen to her if his identity was exposed. However seeing Steve die and how that affected Wonder Woman, who only wanted to get married once the danger had passed, convinced him to propose to Iris.
  • Noodle Incident: His comments to the Earth-2 Superman reveal that he has already met his Superman before Brainiac's attack in Justice Society: World War II.
  • Old Superhero: Crisis shows him slowing down time for himself and Iris, giving them enough time to finish building the tower on Earth-1 to save the multiverse. By the time he's able to finish it, he's spent decades growing old with Iris but still wears his Flash costume.
  • One-Steve Limit: Since the JSA already had a member called the Flash, Barry is given the codename Future Boy.
  • Red Is Heroic: He wears a red outfit with a small amount of yellow and white.
  • Science Hero: He's able to determine from several things that Hawkman would not reach Steve Trevor's falling plane in time in a shockingly quick amount of time, such as the speed the plane was falling and Hawkman's wingspan.
  • Sixth Ranger: Joins the JSA and is given the codename Future Boy since the team already has a member called the Flash.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: While it was only temporary, Barry was never part of the Justice Society in the comics.
  • Two First Names: Both Barry and Allen are used as first names.

    Batman

Bruce Wayne

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tomorrowverse_batman.jpg
As Bruce

Species: Human

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloween | Legion of Super-Heroes | Justice League: Warworld | Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths

Voiced By: Jensen Ackles and Zach Callison (young)

A billionaire who has chosen to fight crime in his city as a result of his parent's murder.

  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Despite being in the early years of his career, his relationship with Catwoman is more similar to how their relationship is after several years where they are in a relationship and open about their secret identities.
  • Alternate Self: Subverted as he and Owlman are two different people but act as each other's equivalents on their worlds. He also had a now deceased counterpart from Robin's and Huntress' world.
  • Amateur Sleuth: He isn't this in The Long Halloween and everyone takes note of how he isn't that much of a detective, with Bruce at one point admitting to Alfred that he never thought he would have to be a detective to fight crime. However he is determined to change that after he falsely accused Alberto Falcone of being Holiday, realizing that he needs to be better if he is to save people.
  • And I Must Scream: For three months he was kept under Poison Ivy's control while her plants took over the Wayne mansion. And given how she acted around him it's unclear whether she acted out the intimate relationship he seemed to hallucinate while under her control.
  • Badass Cape: As usual his cape is useful for when he wants to appear intimidating.
  • Badass Normal: Can fight several people at once with only some difficulty.
  • The Cameo: Appears in a photo in Man of Tomorrow which inspired Superman to add a cape to his costume.
  • The Cowl: Obviously, though he's not as dark as other versions of character due to already forming close connections with others (like Selina) despite being in the early years of his career.
  • Dead Alternate Counterpart: Robin's and Huntress' Batman passed away a few years before the events of Crisis.
  • Exhausted Eye Bags: Has subtle, but noticeable, dark circles under his eyes almost constantly.
  • Hope Bringer: As shown at the end of Part 2, his actions as Batman has given Gotham hope as shown by a family going out trick-or-treating while their son is dressed in a Batman costume. At the start of Part 1, which was also at Halloween, nobody showed up much to Alfred's disappointment.
  • Noodle Incident: Crisis reveals that at some point he met Superman and both learned the others secret identity prior to the Justice League forming.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: Since Alfred did it to him, we now know who taught him how to do that.
  • Superheroes Wear Capes: Him wearing one is what inspired Superman to have a cape with his costume. And then Martian Manhunter seemingly based his superhero form after Superman, meaning Batman is the reason he has a cape.
  • Two First Names: Both Bruce and Wayne are used as first names.
  • Uptown Guy: While Catwoman's backstory isn't fully explained, she's Carmine Falcone's Heroic Bastard and presumably grew up poor like her comic self. Since Bruce is the wealthiest man in Gotham he is therefore this trope.
  • Younger and Hipper: In comparison to his preceding DCAMU counterpart, who when he debuted was an experienced hero who had already trained Nightwing and had a ten year old son. This Batman is only in the first few years of his career in his debut film.

    Green Arrow

Oliver Queen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/greenarrow_tomorrowverse.jpg

Appearances: Batman: The Long Halloweennote  | Green Lantern: Beware My Power | Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths

Voiced By: Jimmi Simpson

Another billionaire Badass Normal who has chosen to become a superhero.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: He lacks his comic self's smug and self-righteous personality, and while a bit of a jerk to John he's understandably mourning the loss of his best friend.
  • Age Lift: He's implied to be in his forties in Crisis, as his son in the comics Connor Hawke is mentioned to be Speedy.
  • Badass Normal: Uses nothing but a bow and arrows to fight aliens in Beware My Power.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: He makes a non-speaking cameo in The Stinger of The Long Halloween before being a main character in the next film Beware My Power.
  • Genre Refugee: Downplayed since obviously all the characters in Beware My Power are based on comic book characters who all to some degree belong in the superhero genre. However Oliver is a normal human with a gimmick and fits the grounded superhero genre far more than the others who's origins and powers place them in the science fiction genre, the intergalactic war he has found himself in is far removed from what he usually faces.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He's a superhero with blond hair.
  • Old Superhero: Implied in Crisis, as when Batman shows his film on Green Arrow it lists Connor Hawke as being Speedy. In the comics Connor is Oliver's son, and if the case here that would likely place Green Arrow in his forties and make him one of the oldest members of the Justice League.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: Downplayed since he's part of the League in the comics, but here he is a founding member and replaces Hal Jordan who was simply an ally of the team.

    Vixen

Mari McCabe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vixen_tomorrowverse.jpg

Species: Human

Appearances: Green Lantern: Beware My Power | Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths

Voiced By: Keesha Sharp

A superhero who uses a magic amulet to mimic the abilities of animals.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In the comics she was created a decade after John Stewart, but in this version she became a superhero and member of the League before he even has his origin.
  • Alliterative Name: Her name is Mari McCabe.
  • Animal-Themed Superbeing: A vixen is a female fox and she is able to use the abilities of a different animals.
  • Battle Aura: When she uses the powers of an animal, that animal briefly appears as a purple aura.
  • The Cameo: She is essentially this along with Martian Manhunter in Beware My Power, as nothing she does has any impact on the plot.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Not as much as her comic self or DCAU counterpart, but still noticeable.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: Downplayed since she's part of the League in the comics, but here she is a founding member and replaces Aquaman.
  • Token Minority: Unless one considers Martian Manhunter who used the form of a black man when trying to look human, Vixen is the only black member of the League while the rest are white.

    Wonder Woman

Princess Diana of Themyscira

Species: Amazon

Appearances: Green Lantern: Beware My Power (mentioned)

Voiced By: N/A

A superhero who joined the League at some point.

  • Alternate Self: Since she's likely Diana, she's this to the version from Earth-2 who previously appeared in Justice Society: World War II.
  • The Ghost: Is only mentioned to exist and is on some sort of mission with Superman.
  • Retcon: Based on the lack of familiarity when meeting the Earth-2 version in Warworld, it appears that the Earth-1 Wonder Woman is no longer canon.
