An eighteen year old Meganekko with a hopeless obsession over all things Japanese and occasional tendencies towards Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny! and Cloud Cuckoolander status. Has a peculiar habit of being horribly squicked out and a Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant in the same conversation.

Enjoys: Death Note, Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You, Zero Punctuation, Osmosis Jones (also created the page for it), Ace Attorney, Portal, Katamari Damacy, Psychonauts, Bleach, Naruto, Avatar, Left 4 Dead, and other various franchises. Also created the page for Concession and Wurr.

Is a sucker for redheaded and white-haired anime characters, particularly those that happen to be jerkasses; Body Horror; Tomato in the Mirror plots; and Mind Manipulation plots, or, even better, all three.

Is more than happy to roleplay pretty much anything with just about anybody. Multi-fandom Crossovers are always fun. (Seriously, just drop me a line, I promise your idea is not silly or stupid for me! If it's a fandom I don't know, that's what wikis are for!)

With so much roleplaying going on, tropes are bound to pop up. Tropes like:

  • Affably Evil: Sam Shotwell, and Blackout, both of whom also happen to be completely batshit insane.
  • Anachronism Stew: What with the fantasy elements, Giant Mecha, aliens, time travel, and dimension travel...oh hell yeah.
  • Apologetic Attacker: Michael, so much.
  • Apologises a Lot: Michael, again.
  • Artifact of Doom: The Book, which will turn anyone who reads it aloud into a frenzied dragon.
  • Back from the Dead: Several villains, and almost all the main characters, most more than once.
  • Badass Adorable: Michael— An adorable little Mix-and-Match Critter with a clockwork leg and the mind of a five-year-old. He also has a barb on his tail that causes excruciating pain for twenty seconds before death, and will use it if you threaten his friends.
  • Baleful Polymorph: Dogs, cats, ferrets, singing chipmunks...most played for humor. The unfunny variation would be Michael, turned into a plushie version of himself for a few hours, leading to his Heroic BSoD
  • Battle in the Center of the Mind: When the character is possessed by a villain, this is how to solve it.
  • Beat: Used frequently in the more humorous moments, such as attempting to name the new dragon hatchling.
    Joshua: *points to Nevermore*
    Nevermore: Um...Puff?
    Joshua: No. *points to Richard*
    Richard: ...Auron?
    Joshua: Maybe. *points to Dearka*
    Dearka: Uh...Ted?
Joshua: Yeah, we're not naming the dragon Ted. *points to Yzak*
Yzak: Uh, Gamayun? ...Slavic bird of wisdom. *shrug*
Joshua: Well, it's better than Puff. *points to AUTO*
    [Beat]
    Joshua: *points to Romsca*
  • Berserk Button: Do NOT hurt Yoshiya, or Demaix will make you dead.
  • Boat Lights: All three fusions: Vexel's are the most obvious, with one green eye and one blue eye; Demaix's eyes change color, aqua when content, gold when he's upset, and one of each any other time; Zeluxia has two different shades of blue, though this isn't as noticable with his Peek A Bangs.
  • Body Horror: And all the nightmarish side-effects that go with it. A personal favorite of mine.
  • Body Surf: Xypher's quite good at this, having done it for several thousand years, as is Blank.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Another favorite of mine.
  • Break the Cutie: Poor Michael...
  • Came Back Wrong: Whenever Vexen or Death has to fix it. A particularly notable Type 4 when Vexel was brought back, but had become basically a wingless dragon. He got better.
    • Averted with Richard, though.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Reno was given a phoenix's tailfeather in case of an emergency, and he locked it away in a drawer. He remembered it just in time to save Ale from dying after Saix's torture.
  • Clockwork Creature: Michael, after being captured and turned into a Chimera by Pigmask scientists.
  • Common Mary Sue Traits: Many of my characters were prone to this in the beginning, but luckily I learned how to write better characters and Character Development ensued. These days I actually go out of my way to make characters that are completely average and would in no way overshadow or overpower any main characters...for example, my Soul Reaper who is nowhere near seated officer material and can barely achieve Shikai.
    • Also, the alternate dimension group that keeps Mary-Sues from getting to other universes.
  • Complete Monster: Xypher. Dear god, Xypher. He has described ripping a person's soul from their body and taking it over as his alcohol, crack, and sex all rolled into one. Kalona and Saix probably count too.
  • Cosmic Plaything: Basically everyone, seeing as they are under the control of roleplayers who like to make them miserable. More literally, the ones under the mansion's curse. Everything always goes wrong in the worst way, guaranteed.
  • Creepy Monotone: AUTO, of course.
  • Crowning Moment Of Funny: Two or three per roleplay. "Because we're idiots?" is easily the most notable, and has become a sort of unofficial quote for the roleplaying forum where it originated.
  • Crowning Moment Of Heartwarming: Michael is extraordinarily good at these. There was a predictable but no less adorable moment of Michael meeting WALL-E.
  • Deceptively Human Robots: AUTO, who is given a very realistic human body and basic emotions, but speaks in a monotone and acts generally unsympathetic.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Nevermore cutting open Ezaria's midsection and keeping her calm through the pain of the snake pulling itself out of her body.
  • Dysfunction Junction: Maybe it wasn't before, but it sure as hell is now.
  • Eldritch Abomination (bordering Humanoid Abomination): Blank. It's the most basic form of a human being, with no color, and no features. Everything exists, and it has a mouth, a nose, two ears, two eyes, and it's perfectly capable of showing emotion, but there's simply no way to describe its features because they're not truly defined. It takes the identity of another to fill the void of real existence that it lacks, causing its victim to become Blank in its place.
    • The Ghouls of the mansion probably count as well. They are beings created from a tiny fraction of a person's soul, horribly mutated and corrupted to become a dark, twisted image of the original. Thankfully they're unable to leave the mansion, but if they get out, they will usher in a new age of anarchy and darkness, possibly destroying the entire world.
  • Eldritch Location: The Ghoul's mansion.
  • Enemy Without: Matt Engarde being separated into his good "fake" personality, and scarred, "true" personality. Subverted in that the two were never put together again, and are now treated like two separate beings. Subverted further when the "evil" side has a Heel–Face Turn.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Yoshiya, Emdy, and the good Matt Engarde were all kept after their one-appearance only plots because they were too cute.
  • Evil Is Sexy: Tailene, Kalona, Varien, the Faerie gang, and Yusa- just to name a few.
  • Eyes of Gold: Demaix's eyes turn gold when he gets upset, as do Nevarx's. Rosalie's eyes are naturally gold, being a Heartless, and Xypher's golden eyes are the only trait that he keeps in all his bodies.
  • Eye Scream: Nevermore's got some particularly bad ones, what with the always-infected scar over one eye, and the other one clawed out. There's also Yzak's mother, who was very nearly blinded by a chemical attack.
  • Fate Worse than Death: Losing a piece of your soul within a haunted mansion, having that piece of your soul become a horrible, corrupted version of yourself who seeks to use you as a way to escape their prison and bring about an age of darkness to the world, and knowing that when you die, the remains of your soul will be forcibly dragged back to that mansion and used to further the ghouls' plans. Also counts as High Octane Nightmare Fuel.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Lampshaded with Irving, the group's pet Hunter, who was named that just to get this reaction out of people.
  • Genre Savvy: Some of the more used characters tend to know exactly what and when will happen to them, simply because it seems to happen all the time.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Matt Engarde, obviously. Neutral Good Nevermore on the other hand, is missing his right eye, with a nasty infected scar over his left.
  • Grand Theft Me: Xypher's done this to several of the main characters. Also, Blank.
  • Hand Wave: The explanation for more and more comedy relief plots are Joshua either not paying attention or being a jerk.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Lots of them- Dalibor, Vexen, Matt Engarde, and later his evil half, and Syntax's AIDA-ish virus.
  • Hell Is That Noise: Pretty much whenever the ghouls speak.
  • Heroic BSoD: Michael finally broke. He did get better, though.
  • High-Pressure Blood: After a rather...bizarre incident with Thrax, Nevermore suffers from this every time he bleeds.
  • High Octane Nightmare Fuel: The Neon Genesis Evangelion/Gundam SEED Crossover. That is all.
  • Humanity Ensues: Not counting his anthropomorphization [is that even a word?], this happens several times to AUTO, much to his dismay.
  • I Am Legion: The alien puzzle speaks this way.
  • "I Know You Are in There Somewhere" Fight: Pretty much the only cure for being Brainwashed and Crazy or transformed into a monster.
  • Journey to the Center of the Mind: The best cure for Brainwashed and Crazy. Also used to rip out Body Surfers or other nasties that like to possess the gang.
  • Keet: Cheshire, naturally.
  • Literal Genie: "Why don't you go fuck yourself?"
  • Living Lie Detector: Adam, who (depending on the setting) can see the emotion in words, or is scarily good at picking up audio clues to make up for his blindness. He is actually called this by some police officers.
  • Loads And Loads Of Characters: Partially due to the fact that all of us are constantly coming up with new ideas, and needing new villains, and partially because the already established characters reproduce like bunny rabbits.
  • Locked into Strangeness: Riley's hair gained a few blue streaks after kissing Marquille.
  • Lotus-Eater Machine: ...There was one. They never figured out who was behind it, though.
  • Mad Scientist: Comes in good and evil flavors. Vexen, Hojo, Jason Manning, Sam Shotwell, the Creator and arguably the Programmer are evil examples. Xonah, Rosalie, Death and Vexen after his Heel–Face Turn are good examples.
  • Mad Scientist's Beautiful Daughter: Lufia, Delilah, Elizabeth, Alice, Catherine...The list goes on.
  • Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Cheshire is this to the normally stoic, reserved Nevermore. Er, wait, not in that way...
  • Manipulative Bastard: Varien, Enu, the evil Matt Engarde...
  • Massive Multiplayer Crossover: Since there are no rules to what fandoms are and are not allowed...yeah.
  • Medium Awareness: Most of the characters are aware of the authors, but ignore them. Also, the alternates from the Sue-hunting universe (Alter-Nicol in particular)
  • The Mind Is The Plaything Of The Body: Sounds about right.
  • Mix-and-Match Critter: Michael, who has a build somewhere between a Doberman and a Greyhound, with badger-like claws and a barb on his tail, recently replaced with a clockwork bulb and needle assembly, and clockwork leg. Dymensha is literally as Mix and Match as it gets, with his entire body made up of patches of other things sewn together with organic thread. Varamus, being the spirit of Capricorn, is an anthropomorphic goat with a fish tail, and a wolfish head for good measure. And finally there's the Jabberwock, a massive dragon-like thing with multiple telepathic adders as tails.
  • Morally Ambiguous Doctorate: The Creator. Averted with Sam, who acquired his doctorate and even worked for several perfectly normal companies before deciding to go pleasantly batshit.
  • Nightmare Fuel: In-universe. Some of the villains (Yusa, Kalona, Tailene, Enu...) can cause illusions and nightmares, most involving some of the more gruesome death scenes.
  • Our Angels Are Different: Following TWEWY's Angel canon. There's also Nevermore, but he doesn't exactly count...
  • Our Vampires Are Different: They appear almost entirely normal unless they go too long without blood, and biting their favored person is very...pleasurable.
  • Our Werebeasts Are Different: Zeluxia is a werecat.
  • Painting the Fourth Wall: The nameless omnipresent being that accidentally turned some of the group into strange matter had its speech written in Bookman Old Style font, rather than Arial or Times New Roman, and the mark's text would change colors if it spoke using a person's voice, such as turning pink when speaking in the voice of Dearka's mother.
    • An in-universe example, where a few characters were trapped in a magical comic book, and they all spoke in different colors.
  • Peek A Bangs: Though it doesn't cover his entire eye, Nevermore's hair helps hide his scarred eyes. Played straight by Zeluxia, seeing as he has Zexion's hairstyle.
  • Precision F-Strike: The gang has just noticed a large and very pissed off mecha heading right towards them. Joshua drops one.
  • Professor Guinea Pig: The Creator resorted to this after making his two assistants into Dymensha and The Network. Doing so only drove him deeper into his insanity. Joshua also resorts to this after his mind is twisted by the reality-bending clipboard. ...It Makes Sense in Context.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Nevermore's age fluctuates between roleplays, but it seems to start at 700 and go up.
  • Red Right Hand: Xypher can flawlessly imitate his current body's personality, mannerisms, tics, and voice, but his eyes are always gold.
  • Restraining Bolt: Irving's violence-canceling collar, Zeluxia's amulet, and Nevermore's wings. Interesting, as the last two also provide the two with their abilities.
  • Running Gag: Vexel is repeatedly turned into a Moomba, and Dearka continually has things taking over his mind. An odd example, since neither of these are played for laughs. A gag that is played for laughs (sort of) is the how everyone's first reaction to Romsca will always be "...You're a ferret."
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Kalona, trapped in the earth; Enu, trapped in a ring; the evil dragon warlock Draconis, sealed in the Book; and the ghouls, trapped inside the mansion.
  • Slap-Slap-Kiss: Gainda and Mel fit this to a T. There is at least one instance where the two start a bar brawl and end up passionately making out with one another.
  • Strapped to an Operating Table: The Creator has found that most conscious beings have this annoying tendency of trying to escape their fate as part of a grotesque biological monster.
  • The Stoic: AUTO. Understandable, really.
  • Superpower Meltdown: Yzak can have one if he lets the entity trapped in his scar out for too long.
  • Tear Jerker: Ale's death, Vexel's death...and most subsequent deaths, Michael's Heroic BSoD and the failed attempts at snapping him out of it, Derek's destabilization, and Nevermore's flashback where we learn just how the Hatter died. Some seriously sad stuff happens in roleplays, mmkay?
  • Telefrag: Joshua accidentally opens a faulty portal that lacks the 'lining' to prevent universes from interacting within it. The results aren't pretty.
"There are some rules matter follows. For example, matter can't occupy the same space as other matter, and it also can't be in two different places at once. If you were to lay two different portals on top of each other and go through, well, you're breaking both rules at once. The universe doesn't like it when you do that."
  • Third-Person Person: TOMARI speaks like this, possibly because he just doesn't understand how pronouns work.
  • Throw It In!: Think that plot twist was really clever and probably thought out ages in advance so you wouldn't see it coming? Nope, it came in a dream last night and sounded pretty cool, let's do it.
  • Troubled Fetal Position: Very, very frequently. Characters having breakdowns tend to curl up on beds or against walls and curl up this way. The most notable offenders are Michael, and any de-aged characters. Ender also had a very quiet breakdown this way after being told there was no way to send him back to his own universe.
  • Un Funny: AUTO, again.
  • Weirdness Magnet: The entire group, thanks to the mansion's curse.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Played straight, then subverted with Nevermore, who was originally this to try and make up for his disability to his cold, distant father. Eventually, he decides he's had enough of his dad's shit and walks out.
  • Joshua Did It: See Hand Wave
  • The Woobie: The Yzak from the Evangelion/Gundam SEED crossover, without a doubt. Also, Michael.
  • Yet Another Baby Panda: Meta: We interrupt your angst and shapeshifting to bring you...a dragon hatchling! D'aww... Oh, yep, here comes the pissed Giant Mecha.
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Demaix, human!Marquille, and Vincent the reporter have actual blue hair, while Zeluxia's is blue and pink. Also, since this is mostly anime and JRPGs, this trope is on full force.

I'm currently writing a webcomic called Project XII, drawn by a good friend of mine. It's supposed to be like a sit-com, about a three college boys that have formed a somewhat popular garage band. It doesn't have enough pages to get its own article here, but there are some good tropes in there- I'll add more as I remember them.

  • All Drummers Are Animals: Averted by Eli, who is majoring in Business at college to disprove this very trope.
  • Anime Hair: Everyone, being an Anime-esque comic, but Chris purposely styles his hair this way.
  • Berserk Button: Call him flamboyant, call him gay, say his music is trash, but never ever call Chris a "faggot."
  • Hideous Hangover Cure: Wakeup Juice.
  • Jerkass: Marcus Kames.
  • Luminescent Blush: Gabe has one in the beginning as a symptom from his hangover. Also Jenny after she slips up and asks if Eli is home.
  • Nice Hat: Eli's trilby.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Gabe loves gummi worms.
  • Your Mom: Eli, taking advantage of Gabe's helplessness: "Well, while I wait for that, let me tell you something about your mother..."
