Some rules for this edition of the Elimination Game:
- Scorekeeper picks the theme. Please keep it reasonable because the last thing we need is drama. That is to say keep it from being political, NSFW, franchise-specific (crossovers can work if well-known and broad enough, and with a readily available list to choose from) or with obtuse specifications.
- The game begins with at least twenty-five entries, depending on the scorekeeper's discretion. One entry per post, and up to two posts per poster unless 48 hours have passed, then anything goes until there are 25 entrants. Wait at least two posts before posting a second entry.
- At the nomination phase, a maximum of two entries from the same franchise can participate at any given round, and if at all only one such entry per person. In the event that the theme can be restrictive, this rule can be relaxed as per the scorekeeper's discretion.
- You are not required to nominate an entry in order to participate.
- All votes add one point to an entry, and take two points away. Those points can be distributed however you wish, so long as there is one -2 or two -1s. No exceptions!
- Invalid votes must be edited within two scorekeeper updates in order to count.
- Any entry that reaches zero is eliminated. Scorekeepers send them off with an evil message [[evil:like so]]
- Space your votes between at least five other peoples' votes, unless 24 hours have passed with not that much activity. In any context, no doubleposting.
- If the host makes a post stating the intent to tally, they have up to an hour to do the tallying. Otherwise the post will be null and void and the round shall proceed.
- If there's no update for 48 hours, the game can be safely called off or taken over by a willing participant. Scorekeepers must temporarily transfer duties to a different poster if they can't do so for a while.
- The one entry remaining wins!
If it's been 24 hours since the last game and the waitlisted troper hasn't posted, it's free game.

No issue with that.
Hell yeah.
Not even stars last forever.Historical figures can be a case-by-case example. Like for example, nobody here really considers somebody like Jeanne d'Arc to be a controversial figure.
I also would consider some creators to be controversial figures such as any creators with Locked Pages within this wiki.

BTW, please call me Jake.Well, I rather liked the worst friends idea that was suggested earlier, so how about we go with that one?
Will you host it?
Worst Friends as in like Poisonous Friends or like as in your least favorite friendships?
BTW, please call me Jake.Yes, Poisonous Friends, and I will host it.
Will that be in groups or the Poisonous Friend alone?
It's over Anakin! I have the high ground! That is fictional worst friend? Since I can’t imagine how a real worst friend round would be.
Meow meow meow (I am just a lil’ hungry cat, I have nothing to do with a certain guy who hired an assassin)Yes, fictional. And about group thing, would you prefer single characters or groups?
It might better to have it be for groups just for clarity on who is being a bad friend to who.
BTW, please call me Jake.So groups of bad friends and those they're being bad friends to?
Late to this, but I've been considering Battle of the Bands as one of the future themes since I remember that it was attempt in the OG version of this thread, but it stalled out due to inactivity. Maybe it can work if it's fictional bands only. I'm sure we can fill up 25 slots with them.
Also there was a Troper Elimination Game thread once, but IIRC it only lasted two rounds. Everyone consented to it and there wasn't that much drama from deducting points from certain tropers, but I'm not sure if that would fly in this thread.

"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"No, I meant a singular bad friend and who they are being a bad friend to.
BTW, please call me Jake.So basically pairs of friends who are somehow bad to each other?
If everyone agrees.
That seems a bit too specific. What about nominating duos who are enemies with each other to begin with?
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"You mean like rivals?
Yeah, that might be better to be honest. Because I was thinking about possible bad friends, and I couldn't really think of a whole lot.
BTW, please call me Jake.Would those who were friends in the past, but aren't anymore, count?
Also, how about repeating old themes at some point? Stuff like "fictional locations" would have a lot more possible nominations for a second round. Maybe a rule against submitting any entries from past rounds, or at least any of the top X entries from that round?
"Leftover items still have value!"I'm fine with repeating old themes eventually, especially since some of the themes like "locations" or "villains" have been very broad.
A great Mascot Mook.If that ends up being the case, I would suggest a possible break in-between re-used rounds so that it doesn't get too repetitive. Like possible a 20-season break in-between.

BTW, please call me Jake.
What about a round where we nominate work (film/tv show/game,...) of a specific theme (for example: action movies, RPG games...) instead of characters or things in a work?
