Anyway, I'm leaning toward cutting this and Yarding Signature Shoes. Since Macron is taking a break, she's not around to work on the Signature Shoes draft if one gets made (I think she launched Signature Headgear around when Hair Decorations got disambiguated), and there's also the fact that the wicks we already have are Chairsy and probably not salvageable.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Disambiguate with Iconic Outfit and select These Tropes Are Made for Walking tropes and cut examples that are "these shoes look nice". Yard Signature Shoes unless someone is interested picking it up.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupYeah, I agree with disambiguating between Iconic Outfit and These Tropes Are Made for Walking (maybe also Meaningful Appearance) instead of doing a full-fledged cut.

Come play Character Uplift Game!Let's go ahead and disambiguate since it's been three days with unanimous consensus.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. And the disambiguation page is live and indexed.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Let's disambig Nice Shoes. I think it's time that Signature Shoes should take its place.
Nothing stopping you from collecting examples and TLPing Signature Shoes.
Anyway, Nice Shoes is already a disambig, it just needs to be dewicked now.
Current Project: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI've already taken down my example from the character page of The Magic Roundabout after reading the discussion and I may re add that as a Signature Shoes example.
I'll add Signature Shoes to the Trope Idea Salvage Yard, since, as I mentioned, I think Macron would be better suited to that than me since she handled some of the TLP drafts that were spun off the now-defunct appearance trope cleanup thread, but since she's taking a break, it'll have to be put on hold unless someone else has an idea for how to handle it.
Edit: And it's Yarded.
Another edit: Oh, right, and feel free to make Sandbox.Signature Shoes to hold potential examples if any Nice Shoes examples fit the proposed trope, and make sure to link to the sandbox in its Salvage Yard listing.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Well, it's too late to hold any examples, because I've just dewicked Nice Shoes. Yay insomnia!
You didn't see anything. In that case, I'll archive the wick check and close:
Macron's OP
Nice Shoes has been brought up several times in the past because there were concerns that nice shoes on their own just boils down to chairs similar to the now deprecated Nice Hat.The trope's description indicates that Nice Shoes was intended to be shoe version of Signature Headgear where a character is defined by their distinctive shoes. There appears to be enough wicks and on-page examples to transplant the trope to a Signature Shoes trope. I propose that we rename the trope to Signature Shoes disambiguate it with Signature Shoes, Costume Porn Tricked-Out Shoes, and possibly other tropes.
