Anti-Gouki Project is a M.U.G.E.N fangame project made by Basara-kun. This is his first fangame and also one of his most known original creations for this engine, along with Eric - Unperfect Shotoklone and XXX (both characters can be found here in M.U.G.E.N.'s Characters page). The game was originally made as a Take That! to all those creators who made Akuma until exhaustion, no matter if they're seriously made or as parodies, making a game full of characters cloned from this one, literally. This is the official story of the fullgame:

In the year 20XX, a mad scientist, expert in clonation, decided to make clones of the most known powerful fighter of all: Akuma/Gouki. And to avoid these ones were just a simple copy, each clone was implanted with different fighting styles, all of this were made with the objetive of spread them to the cities and make the total chaos and rule the world. But to determinate which of them is the most powerful of all, he puts them to his own private tournament to see which one will be the first in start the invasion.

The characters are composed of 16 clones based on CVS2's Akuma in sprites, all of them were coded by scratch by Basara-kun. In the case of stages, he borrowed from other sides, basically open source stages as well others used with permission. The same goes with the music in which he uses open source MIDI songs.

The first beta was released on January 2013, the game is now in Development Hell because the creator wanted to work on other projects.

Here's the official website with all the information and downloads (5-6 characters are finished there). It also has its own WIP subforum in the Mugen Fighters Guild forum.

See also ClayFighter: Infinite Clayfare, another fangame made by this M.U.G.E.N creator, but more finished than this one.

''Anti-Gouki Project includes examples of:

  • All There in the Manual: The reason about why this game is full of Akumas is explained in the main story.
  • Backstory: There're three of them: one for the clones (which is the game's main story), one for Asura and one for Akuma.
  • Badass Normal: Powerless One is this, using just Good Old Fisticuffs comparing with all the other clones that uses special moves.
  • Composite Character:
    • Ryuken, which have Ryu and Ken variations of their Shotoclone moves depending the Mode you select them (button or Start + button). So in Ryu Mode have one-hit Hurricane Kick and Shoryuken, and Ken Mode has muti-hit versions of both moves, the latter with the flamming version with the strong punch. Not to mention both versions have their own Meteor Moves from the games (Ryu Mode has Shinkuu Hadouken and Shin Shoryuken, Ken Mode has Shoryureppa and Shinryuken.)
    • Also Asura, a mixture between Akuma and Rugal based on Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium's What If? ending.
  • Fountain of Expies: Kung Fu Fan, a copycat of Kung Fu Man in the body of Akuma was made, then the idea was replicated in other ones, so the clones idea was born. Also, Word of God he's the first in production.
  • Gone Horribly Wrong: In this story, Asura seems to be like this, a failed clone that becomes too dangerous to keeping it alive, and the final objetive of the clones before the world domination.
  • Ink-Suit Actor: The creator voiced some of the clones, while all the others are acted by other creators and MFG users that collaborate with him. The only 2 exceptions are Kung Fu Fan (the only clone that uses original Akuma seiyuu) and Ryuken (which are the voices of Ryu and Ken combined into one).
  • Meaningful Name:
    • The Projectile is the only character in the game that mainly use projectiles in every way possible, being more than just another Hadouken user.
    • Ryuken sounds like "Ryu" and "Ken" mixed, but also his gameplay, in which selecting with button you plays like Ryu, but selecting with Start + button you plays like Ken, with all the differences between both remarked depending of the Mode you choose.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Powerless One, which has no special moves more than just command moves and he plays like a 3D fighter like in Tekken or Dead or Alive series.
  • Modified Clone: The whole premise is that the fighters are clones with different fighting styles.
  • Not Just a Tournament: The winner of this tournament will determinate the leading clone to start the invasion.
  • Take That!: The game was made as a parody of the massive amount of Akuma characters on the net, but with a serious tone.
  • Tournament Arc: The game itself is a tournament between all the complete clones to see which is the strongest one, who'll eventually lead the next invasion to cities.
