Black Sitcom is a contraction of "Black Situation Comedy", a sitcom where most of the characters are of African descent (barring a Token White or Latino), primarily on American, Canadian, and British TV. They can be Dom Coms, Kid Coms, or romantic comedies.
Not to be confused with Black Comedy, where it's the subject matter that's dark rather than the characters' skintones (though overlap exists; the film Kingdom Come springs to mind).
